Tangan Dong Village

Tang'an Dong Village is almost at the top of the mountain, about 10 kilometers away from Zhaoxing Dong Village along the winding mountain road. There are more than 160 households in the village, mainly with the surnames Ying and Lu.

The commuter bus between the two Dong villages costs 20 yuan round trip, and no one-way tickets are sold. It starts at 8 am, departs from Zhaoxing Dong Village every hour, and returns from Tang'an Dong Village every half hour, until the last bus at 5:30 pm. In the peak season or summer, it will be at 6:30 pm. It takes more than 20 minutes to take the only winding mountain road one way.

The parking lot or viewing platform is under construction, and the ground is covered with sand and construction vehicles. Otherwise, it is also a good viewing location for appreciating the Tangan Terraces.

I personally don't think it's necessary to give up Zhaoxing Dong Village and live in Tang'an Dong Village in pursuit of original ecology, except for those who pursue solitude and simplicity. I don't know if you need to buy tickets outside the gate of the scenic area or drive directly to the top of the mountain through the winding mountain road. But parking in Tang'an is a big problem. There are only 2 or 3 inns in the village, and even fewer restaurants. It's quiet at night. The village is not as large or traditional as Zhaoxing. What's more, the commuter bus is so convenient that you can take a day to Tang'an. In the morning, take a 20-minute minibus up the mountain to the Dong village, and in the afternoon, spend 2 or 3 hours walking down the hiking trail to see the terraced fields (be careful not to go the wrong way). They are all scenery on the road.

I think the main thing is to see the terraced fields. The rest is no different from other Dong villages. It's just that the development is not too excessive, but it will happen sooner or later. The only place where you can see the terraced fields at the entrance of the village has already laid the foundation of the house. You can buy a ticket to Tang'an Dong Village from the entrance of Zhaoxing Dong Village. It costs 20 yuan for a round trip. Zhaoxing is a big main road that goes up all the way. There is a fork road next to it for eating or taking pictures. Go to the top to get to the minibus. It takes more than ten minutes to get there by mountain road (it's very steep and it's scary to sit by the window). You can also choose to walk here, which is another way. If you want to say it's primitive, it's indeed all aboriginals. If you want to say it's commercial, there are indeed inns and restaurants built everywhere. When I went there, there were not many tourists in the off-season, and the village was not big and it took half an hour to finish. The local elderly sat in the drum tower to roast fire and chat. Children ran around and slapped your butt. An old lady in her eighties held Fanta in her hand and insisted on giving it to me. Overall, it was still quite simple and there were no supporting facilities. When I asked a hotel to borrow the bathroom, the male owner refused to lend it to the female owner, and she didn't feel angry and said yes. People become businessmen.

Just came back from Tang'an Dong Village. Tang'an Dong Village is only 7-8 kilometers away from Zhaoxing Dong Village. You can hike to Tang'an Dong Village from Zhaoxing Dong Village, but it requires good physical strength because it goes up the mountain (the hiking time is about 2-3 hours). You can also take a shuttle bus, the ticket is 10 yuan. Tang'an Dong Village is a developing scenic spot, far less commercialized than Zhaoxing Dong Village at the foot of the mountain, with fewer tourists, relatively quiet, and I think the scenery is okay. The main roads in the village are paved with stone slabs. Because many places are building buildings, the roads are a bit muddy.

Zhaoxing Dong Village is still quite commercialized, but you must listen to the Dong ethnic group's songs. The drum tower is very special and worth seeing. The spring water is sweet. The scenic area is not large. The ticket is valid for two days. However, Tang'an Dong Village is higher and quieter, and there is no commercialization. The Tang'an terraces are relatively small and attractive. The spring water in Tang'an is good, so bring more kettles to fill it with water. You can take a special bus from Zhaoxing to Tang'an, which is usually 20 yuan per person. Every inn has this service. If you walk there, it will take about one to two hours. Tang'an does not require tickets. Guizhou has many ticket discounts for outsiders, so just pay more attention.

From the back door of Zhaoxing Dong Village, you can go directly up the mountain to Tang'an Dong Village. Tang'an Dong Village is located in Zhaoxing Township, Liping County, Guizhou Province, 8 kilometers away from the seat of Zhaoxing Township People's Government and 75 kilometers away from Liping County. There are more than 160 households and more than 800 Dong villagers living in Tang'an Dong Village, and most of the houses are north-south oriented. Tang'an Dong Village is surrounded by mountains on three sides and open terraces on one side, with a wide view. There are peaks and ridges, crisscrossing fields, and overlapping terraces. The houses on the mountainside are built according to the terrain, hanging in the air, and in an orderly manner.

The best way to hike in Tang'an is to take a bus on the way there and walk on the way back, because this way you can always face the terraced fields, and it will be much easier to go down all the way. Tang'an is about 4 kilometers away from Zhaoxing, and you can get there quickly by bus. However, there is still a short uphill road after arriving at the station. There are also paid small vans for tourists to take, which can take you to the viewing platform at the entrance of Tang'an Dong Village. From the viewing platform, you can overlook the green terraced fields and Zhaoxing Dong Village in the valley in the distance.

At the end of Zhaoxing Dong Village, there is a bus to Tang'an Dong Village, which costs 20 yuan per person. Private cars are not allowed to go up. You can only take the bus. Therefore, if you don't visit Zhaoxing Dong Village, you may not be able to enter Tang'an, but if you enter Zhaoxing Dong Village, it would be a pity not to visit Tang'an. And if you go to Tang'an but don't walk down, it's even more regrettable. It takes 2 hours to walk down the mountain. A little tiring.

When we arrived at Tang'an, we found that many flowers and plants were frozen, as if they were made of glass, solidified there, motionless, like sculptures. When we touched them, they felt the same, cool and heavy.

Later we found out that it was frozen. We exclaimed that we had earned this wonder. Little did we know that there would be an even bigger gift waiting for us in the following trip.

The most famous thing about Tang'an is the terraced fields, which are not worse than those in Jiabang. There is also fog at this time, so the visibility may be much better than that in Jiabang. Walking in the terraced fields, I feel infinite emotion. The scenery in this uninhabited mountain is picturesque and unforgettable.

It takes more than ten minutes to reach Tang'an Dong Village. There is also a magnificent drum tower as soon as you enter the village. In Tang'an, you can mainly see the terraced fields built on the mountain. It is said that it can be compared with other famous terraced fields. Unfortunately, it is a pity that the thick fog makes it difficult to see the whole picture. But when you walk into the terraced fields, you can feel the spectacular beauty of the terraced fields and waistline up close. The terraced fields along the way are stacked layer by layer and staggered.

Halfway through the drive, you can already see the rolling mountains and winding terraces. The houses in Tang'an are also built on the mountain, with suspended feet embedded in them, which has a more rustic charm than the houses on the flat road in Zhaoxing. So (if the sun is a little gentler) I really like Tang'an! The houses, the countryside, the messy plants, all look like the feeling of returning to my hometown village when I was a child~~ Even the fresh smell in the air is the same~~~ The drum tower is indispensable in the Dongjia village. The appearance of this one in Tang'an is similar to that of Zhaoxing, but it seems to be newer, and because the village is small, the only drum tower in the village is more special. There is a water next to the drum tower, which can be taken and drunk at will~ The villagers also soaked a few large watermelons in the water, which looks very cool! Since I got a refrigerator, it seems that I haven't eaten this kind of mountain water soaked watermelon for a long time✪ω✪! The taste in my memory is refreshing and sweet, which is the source of happiness for the whole summer! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧The villagers also come to collect water to wash the vegetables, just the ordinary cabbage, which seems to be more juicy after being soaked like this~~~There are also various crops and small fruits growing casually on the roadside here, fresh and tender! I don’t know if it’s because I’m pregnant, but seeing these little lives really makes me happy for no reason٩( 'ω' )و I think they are all so cute~! The stone slab road with small wild flowers is winding upwards, and it is not flat, but it is this unevenness that makes it feel like my hometown!

PS: The minibus arrives at the foot of the mountain. Tang'an is at the top of the mountain. You need to take a 7-seater bus for another 4 minutes to get to Tang'an. The ticket price is 5 yuan. You can also walk for more than ten minutes without taking the 7-seater bus. The road is all asphalt and it is easy to walk.



How to play?

There are three main places worth visiting: the Tang'an Observation Deck, overlooking the Tang'an Rice Terraces from a high place; the Dong Village itself; and the Tang'an Rice Terraces.

It is recommended to take a bus from Zhaoxing Dong Village to Tang'an, first go to the viewing platform, then go to the village for a walk, and finally walk from Tang'an back to Zhaoxing Dong Village along the terraced field landscape trail. Along the way are layers of terraced fields, full of greenery.

The reason why we chose to take the terraced landscape trail on the return trip is because we have to go down stairs on the way back.

If you choose to walk there, you will have to climb stairs.

The distance from Zhaoxing Dong Village to Tang'an Dong Village is only about seven kilometers.



The shuttle bus from Zhaoxing to Tang'an is quite convenient. It usually leaves on the hour and returns at half past. You can avoid waiting for a long time by calculating the time to arrive at the station. When there are many tourists, the frequency of buses will increase.



The round trip fare is 20 yuan, and the one-way fare is the same.



The last bus leaves at 6 o'clock. If you take the 4 o'clock bus to Tang'an, you will have about 2 hours in Tang'an if you take the last bus back.



Of course, you can also walk there or back. It's 7 kilometers, taking photos while walking, and it takes about two hours on the road.



Different from Zhaoxing Dong Village which is built in a flat valley, Tang'an Dong Village is located on the mountainside. The village is not big and is surrounded by terraced fields.



Tang'an Terraced Fields is also a major characteristic landscape here.

Despite the continuous influx of tourists, the damage to Tang'an is not great. There are few viewing angles for the terraced fields, but the weather still continues the legend that there will be rain and fog whenever there are terraced fields. In fact, if you look closely through the fog at the opposite hillside, you can see quite a few terraced fields.

We chartered a car from Zhaoxing to Shangtang'an. It cost 100 yuan for 5 people, round trip. We can also take the scenic area's shuttle bus, which is also 20 yuan per person, round trip.

Arriving at the entrance of Tang'an, we took a small tourist bus to the village, 5 yuan per person one way. The Tang'an Terraces were not as beautiful as I imagined, probably because we did not hike and did not see more beautiful scenery.

The village is not big and can be visited in a short time. It is full of life, but it is still under development.

Tang'an Dong Village is home to more than 160 households and more than 800 people of the Dong nationality. The residents are scattered in the two mountain ranges of "Banbai" and "Jiding" and "Guijin". Most of the houses are oriented north-south. The people of the village are mainly surnamed Ying and Lu, and there are seven surnames of Pan, Lan, Wu, Yang, and Shi living in harmony. According to traditional customs, the surnames Lu and Pan in the village are divided into Dalu, Xiaolu, Dapan, and Xiaopan. The drum tower, opera house, stilt house, stone road, ancient tombs, ancient gourd well, water mill, stone pestle, spinning wheel and other simple and elegant objects in Tang'an Dong Village contain objects with deep Dong cultural connotations in every corner. Tang'an Dong Village is an example of human return to nature. A careful appreciation of the objects in this village can fully prove its long history. This place has profound historical and scientific research value, research value of Dong culture and customs, value of developing Dong ethnic tourism resources and value of protecting human ecology.

Tang'an Dong Village is located on the hillside 8 kilometers east of Zhaoxing Ancient Town, 840 meters above sea level. It is a relatively small but still relatively simple village with rolling peaks and winding cascading terraces. Standing beside the terraces and looking at the cascading terraces, the wind in the fields is refreshing. The houses are built on the mountainside, suspended in the air, in an orderly manner.

The stone mortar at the outlet of Tang'an Spring looks like a ladle, so this spring is also called Gupiao Spring. It is said that hundreds of years ago, Tang'an was uninhabited, and the spring was full of Ancai. The Xiager people often raised ducks and geese by the spring. After hundreds of years, the population of Xiager increased too much, so they decided to send a group of people to live in Tang'an, one kilometer away. This group of Xiager people built a village around the spring, forming the present Tang'an. Because the village was built around the spring, there is a saying that "there was Gupiao Spring first, and then there was Tang'an Village".

This is a secret place, a paradise!

Compared with Zhaoxing Dong Village, Tang'an Dong Village is much smaller, and it seems that there is only one drum tower.

Original ecological Dong village, beautiful terraced fields, highly recommended

Although construction has already begun, you can still see the quaint rural scenery when you go deep into the village.

Since we were there in the off-season, the scenery of the terraced fields was not revealed, but we still felt the wildness when we hiked down from the top of the mountain. Please imagine the most beautiful scenery in the season.

The village still uses the oldest wind-threshing machine to thresh rice. There is a performance at 8 o'clock every night, mainly showing the customs and culture of the Dong people.

The people of Tang'an Dong Village are very hardworking. Some are drying grains, some are doing hand embroidery, some are playing cards, and some are just watching the fun. In short, people are busy and their lives are very comfortable.

In addition to local people, there are also people who come here to sketch.

The weather in Tang'an cleared up in the afternoon, revealing some blue sky and white clouds. The brown of the earth, the green of the rice, the yellow of the ripe grains, the green mountains and waters, and the lush green trees set off the most beautiful natural scenery.

Xiaozhaitang is a place with a different world. We happened to meet a group of sketching students from the Affiliated High School of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. They were scattered in different corners of the hills and terraces.

There were villagers working, carrying bundles of grass or turning over rice fields. The area was surrounded by clouds and mist. Occasionally a ray of sunlight shone through, spreading on a hilltop, making the mountain mist look even whiter and brighter.

Beautiful scenery of Dong Village

Blue sky and white clouds, the seductive mountain breeze from the terraced fields, red clothes and silver ornaments, and a hairy mountain village lady.

The 2-hour one-way hike from Tang'an Dong Village via Xiage to Zhaoxing Dong Village was rated as one of the 33 most mysterious destinations in the world by the National Geographic magazine of the United States. There are far more foreign hikers who come here than Chinese children during the summer vacation. The fragrant smell of rice and the pure Dong people are intoxicating.

After much hesitation, I finally did not choose to hike on the mountain trail for a simple reason: my brother was dressed very nicely.

The Drum Tower is the leisure and activity center of the Dong village. Old and young people play cards there. There is a drinking water source next to the Drum Tower.

I remembered a small path, so I followed the direction indicated by the villagers. After passing a small wooden gate, the path was right under my feet, winding beside the terraced fields and extending all the way down! Imagine walking in it and enjoying the freedom of the world being ours. It is really a wonderful experience!

Tang'an Dong Village is relatively small, but has a long history. It has been built for more than 700 years. It is surrounded by mountains and you can see the cascading terraces along the way. When we went there, most of the terraces had been harvested, and the scenery before harvest should be more spectacular. The whole trip takes two or three hours. Walking between the ridges of the terraces behind the village, fish fry shuttle freely in the fields. Some tourists even took up hoes and took photos in the drying wheat fields, quietly enjoying the unique countryside. When we went there, it was a wedding or funeral. The villagers were washing vegetables and chopping meat by the pond next to the drum tower to prepare meals.

The rice has been harvested, so you can't see the beautiful scenery. It should be spectacular if you go there in early September.

The Dong Village was much quieter in the morning. Without the colorful lights, it showed its simplicity. Compared with Zhaoxing Dong Village, Tang'an Dong Village was closer to folk customs. There were no noisy shops. They were all places where the local Dong people lived. We strolled around, took pictures, walked around, and looked at the life of the Dong people. It was a rare leisure time.

The scenery is beautiful! The accommodation is limited. The village is unique, but it is not soundproof and I can't sleep well. There are few public services, only one small shop. After all, it is a place that has not been fully developed, so it retains its original ecology. If the food is not to your liking, you can cook it yourself.

The commercial village, because I came early, there were not many people, I liked this place more. It took about 2 hours to walk through the beautiful village of Tang'an.

Tang'an looks more quaint than Zhaoxing and has basically not been commercialized. The mountains between the terraces make it look more ecological.

Tang'an Dong Village is surrounded by mountains on three sides and open terraced fields on one side, with a wide view. The houses on the mountainside are built according to the terrain and dangled in the air. The village is connected in all directions with winding paths. The roads in the village are paved with bluestone slabs.

We arrived at Tang'an around 10:30 in the morning. The rice fields were already ripe, and some had been harvested, but it did not affect the overall visual effect.

It's still a little chilly in the morning, so you need to put on a jacket.

The bluestone steps and slabs of stone in Tang'an Dong Village are really beautiful, with a few fallen leaves on them, creating a gentle and tranquil countryside scene. Standing on the bluestone steps and looking down, you can see the scene in Tang'an Village.

At 7:30, we started hiking in Tang'an, walking along the terraced fields until we reached Tang'an Dong Village. The terraced fields in Tang'an are average among the terraced fields, but they have their own characteristics among the Dong Village.

The villagers in Tang'an Dong Village maintain the most primitive way of life. Tang'an is the only Dong ethnic ecological museum in the world established by China and Norway. Unlike all museums, the entire village and the surrounding environment are museums, with real original ecology.

We walked along the village road all the way up to the drum tower of Tang'an Dong Village. The drum tower is one of the three treasures of the Dong Village, a gathering place for villagers, and a spiritual symbol of the villagers. Here is the mother well of Tang'an Dong Village, the gourd well, which is named because of its gourd-like shape. You should know that it is because of this gourd well that Tang'an Dong Village was established.

It is highly recommended. If you want to experience the humanistic atmosphere and primitive style, you must come to Tang'an from Zhaoxing. Tang'an is currently under development, and there are one or two inns, but the overall atmosphere is much better than Zhaoxing. It is a 20-minute drive from Zhaoxing Dong Village, and the round-trip fare is 20 yuan. It runs from 8 am to 5 pm, every half an hour. It is recommended to take the earliest bus. If you go late in the morning, there will be traffic jams on the mountain road. The biggest attraction of Tang'an is the terraced fields. Although it is not as spectacular as the Jiabang terraced fields, it is more convenient to travel.

Tang'an Dong Village is not so commercial. The village is relatively simple and rustic. The village is not big and is surrounded by terraced fields. Looking down along the terraced fields, you can see Zhaoxing Dong Village. The scenery is quite nice.

This village is more primitive than Zhaoxing Dong Village, with beautiful terraces and full of green.

The terrain here is relatively high, and you can see a view of terraced fields.

There are some nice terraced fields here, but it is not the most beautiful season now.

Compared to the developed Zhaoxing Dong Village, the Tang'an Village still retains a lot of the original Dong Village atmosphere. But if you look closely, you will find that there are actually quite a few renovations.

There are many accommodation options in the village. If you don’t arrive too late and don’t have to worry about luggage placement, staying here should be a good choice.

The scenery of the terraced fields is never boring.

Since it is a Dong village, there must be a drum tower in the village. Going deep into the village, there is a pretty good drum tower. The drum tower is where the Dong people socialize and meet friends. If you want to make friends, of course you can come here.

As a southerner, I have seen many terraced fields, but Tang'an still did not shock me. Instead, the tranquility in the village was soothing, and there were many students sketching.

Compared with Zhaoxing Dong Village, Tang'an Dong Village is more rustic. At the drum tower, there are local residents chatting and resting.

When I came here, I heard from my friends that Tang'an Dong Village was very beautiful, so I wanted to go and explore it anyway. However, because my father was traveling with me, I decisively gave up the hiking trip and took a car instead. Although it was afternoon, the further up the mountain the car went, the cooler it felt. It only took about ten minutes to get to Tang'an by car from Zhaoxing. The winding mountain road, lush terraced fields, and fresh air seemed to make it less worldly and more rustic.

The place where we got off the bus was a viewing platform, where you can clearly see the rural scenery, natural scenery, sunrise and sunset. However, there are many more good places to enjoy the scenery if you walk around the village. Perhaps because of its location, Tang'an has not been overdeveloped compared to other villages. There are not too many shops and inns, but only a faint village atmosphere.

Tang'an is not big, and it only takes an hour or two to walk around and stroll around, but the people you meet and the things you see during this time are worth slowly savoring.

TIPS: The round trip ticket from Zhaoxing to Tang'an is 20 yuan per person. Remember to arrange the return time with the driver for the last bus, and remind him not to leave early. If possible, say hello to your friends who got on the bus with you. In addition, there will be a contact number on the ticket. Don't throw it away. Although it is not the driver's phone number, it is also a general station. If the driver leaves early, you might as well use it as a life-saving straw... Of course, walking down the mountain is also a wonderful way to return, but if there are elderly people around, it is still not recommended to walk down the mountain.

Whether strolling on the bluestone path in the village, walking on the terraced fields in the mountains, or tasting the clear and sweet mountain spring water, Tang'an can truly calm our hearts.

Tang'an Dong Village is more primitive than Zhaoxing Dong Village, which has already developed and is undergoing renovation and building inns. However, there are also some signs of transformation. It is said that many foreigners came here in the past, but now there are fewer.

On the roadside, you can see firewood piles, free-range chickens, and houses built on stone piles. The drum tower and stage of Tang'an are in the same place, but the wind and rain bridge is in the terraced fields in the distance. There is also a rather special gourd well (shaped like a wash basin with a gourd hanging on the side), and below it is a large pool where villagers wash vegetables, which is quite primitive.

When asking for directions, we found that the villagers here were different from those in Zhaoxing. They couldn’t understand Mandarin, and we couldn’t understand the local dialect either, so we failed to ask for directions.

I watched the Five Drum Towers last night and continued to watch the daytime version. The names of the five drum towers are: Ren, Yi, Li, Zhi and Xin.

The Miao village gives people the feeling that you can't see any local people's life scenes. The only locals you can see are vendors (according to the driver, the locals live on the mountain, and there are inns and shopping streets below). Although it can be seen that many houses in the Dong village have been renovated and many are still being renovated, the locals still live here. Some are sitting in the drum tower to rest, some are rehearsing on the stage, some are sewing shoe soles on the flower bridge, and there is also a drum tower where you can see pigs being slaughtered the night before, and the next day you can see white cloth hanging for funerals. The doors on the first floor of some houses are also half open. Anyway, you can see the local people's lives by just walking around.

The Dong ethnic group has a special feature of beating cloth, which is now done mechanically, but I didn't see it, I just seemed to hear the sound. I saw dyed cloth hanging in the museum which is still under construction, and some shops on the roadside also allow you to participate in dyeing cloth, so we watched the children in the summer camp dyeing.

It takes about 10 to 20 minutes to get from Zhaoxing to Tang'an. After getting off the bus, you still have to walk for more than 10 minutes to get there. It's quite tiring in the hot summer. Tang'an is very small and the weather is too hot. We didn't go around much. We just looked at the scenery, had lunch and went back. You can see the terraced fields here, but they are nothing compared to what you will see in Jiabang later.

There is no entrance fee to Tang'an Dong Village. You can go up by car or horse carriage at the foot of the mountain. It costs 5 yuan per trip. I don't know why I took the horse carriage, it was so slow. When I was looking for guides, Tang'an was the only place that had both a Dong Village sign and a terraced field sign. It is indeed larger than the terraced fields in Zhaoxing Dong Village. I heard that Jiabang Terraced Fields is the most beautiful, but it is too far away. It takes three hours by car from Zhaoxing.

The village is located on the mountain and has not been rebuilt much. The Drum Tower is the center of the village and where people gather.

The bus to Tang'an is at the innermost of Zhaoxing Dong Village. After returning from the tour, we walked out of the inner part and just visited the Dong Village. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Tang'an by winding mountain road. Some of the scenery on the road is amazing. As the car spirals upward, you can see endless green farmland and forests under the mountain outside the car window. After getting off the car, continue to walk up the mountain. You have to stop every few steps. The higher you go, the more charming the scenery is. It is about 1 kilometer to the farthest viewing platform. Because it was after the rain, there was mountain fog, and the terraces were looming from time to time. If you say that she "still holds the pipa and half covers her face", she will sometimes cover it tightly. You can only stand there and wait, waiting for the mountain wind to slowly take away the clouds and mist, and waiting for the earth to reveal her true face. It was a short one-kilometer journey, but several people lingered for nearly 2 hours, and sighed that the trip was worthwhile. It would be incomplete if you come to Zhaoxing without seeing Tang'an.

It's quite deserted, like a small Lijiang, but quieter. There are some tourists singing off-tune songs in the bars, but it doesn't seem like there's much to see.

This place is nearly 350 meters higher than Zhaoxing Dong Village in altitude. There is currently no entrance fee. It is more pristine than Zhaoxing. However, from the decorations that can be seen everywhere, it is not difficult to see that in the near future, this place will also be filled with commercial atmosphere.

Tang'an is surrounded by mountains on three sides and terraced fields on one side. Looking around, you can see a wide field of vision, with overlapping peaks and crisscrossing fields. Shortly after entering the village, I saw a group of little girls in ethnic costumes singing in groups. Out of curiosity, I followed them and blocked a 7 or 8-year-old girl. When I turned my head and saw her, her eyes were full of dissatisfaction and resistance. I asked her why she was unhappy, and she said, "So many people came, it's really annoying." The child's words may be an expression of the local people's mood. When we tourists flocked to the village in the mountains, although it played a role in improving the economic environment, it did affect their originally quiet and natural life. This is a contradiction that is difficult to adjust.

After visiting Tang'an's Piaojing, Drum Tower and Fengyu Bridge, we walked back to Zhaoxing along the stone path in the terraced fields as planned. The 5-kilometer mountain road was full of lush greenery.

The nearly two-hour downward hike from Tang'an to Zhaoxing was not difficult. The scenery along the way was picturesque, and the weather was good, so the overall experience was good.

The minibus only goes to the foot of the mountain. It will probably take about one or two kilometers to get to Tang'an, but there are private cars and horse carriages to choose from, which cost five dollars per person.

Liping's green tea is very distinctive, like a piece of candy. Sitting in a jewelry store in Tang'an, drinking a cup of tea, looking at the scenery outside and feeling the cool breeze, I feel so lazy that I don't even want to move.

There are no shops here, it's very authentic.

To get to Tang'an, you have to go through Zhaoxing Dong Village. There is a through bus, which takes only about ten minutes by car, all on mountain roads. Every corner of Tang'an contains objects with profound Dong culture. Tang'an Dong Village is an example of human return to nature. A careful appreciation of the objects in this village can fully prove its long history. The drum tower is the center of the village, and important notices, important documents, and certificates of awards are displayed on the pillars and beams here.

The Dong village on this hillside is relatively small and there are not many tourists. Those who like seclusion can come up and play. The Tang'an Terraces are OK for hiking, but they are still worse than the Longji Terraces.

Tang'an Dong Village is a small village that has not been commercially developed yet. It is quieter and more simple than Zhaoxing Dong Village. You can buy a minibus ticket in Zhaoxing Dong Village to go there. Both one-way and round trip are 20. If you have enough time and energy, you can hike there in the early morning and take a bus back to enjoy the terraced scenery, which is also a good aerobic exercise. You can also charter a local private car in Zhaoxing to go there, which can save time waiting for the bus. But there is no way to drive there by yourself (crying), because now you have to pass through the main street of Zhaoxing Dong Village from Zhaoxing Dong Village to Tang'an Dong Village, and private cars are not allowed to enter Zhaoxing Dong Village. We saw tourists riding donkey carts in Tang'an Dong Village, which was also a very interesting experience.

Under normal circumstances, you can make a round trip from Zhaoxing Dong Village in one morning. If you hire a local private car and don't take photos along the way, you can get back to Zhaoxing before 9 o'clock if you leave at 8 o'clock.

The terraced fields in July are all green, which is very pleasing to the eye. The stone slab trails along the way are very well built, and coupled with the lush rice fields, you won't feel tired even after more than 20,000 steps.

In fact, it is a mountain. Zhaoxing Dong Village is at the foot of the mountain, and Tang'an Dong Village is on the mountain. After driving two-thirds of the mountain road, we were told that we could not go up and there was no place to park. It's better for us to climb up the mountain by ourselves. My son saw the terraced fields and pulled me along the path to approach. The rice was very green. I remembered seeing the rice fields in Panjin last year. It was very kind, but the Dong people in front of me built terraced fields in the mountains. It was even more difficult! In the early morning, walking on the path and looking at the Dongjia stilt house in front of me, it was very comfortable. It was my hope to get close to the Dong village in this way. The old man in the village was smoking, and his dark face was integrated with this quaint village. The hardworking Dong people have come back from weeding in the field. Looking at the terraced fields, I feel a sense of solidity and tranquility in my heart. Perhaps this is the feeling that the most real and simple Dong village brings to me! Wandering in the village, I found many unique working and living scenes of the Dong people. The dyed cloth is hammered to make it look brighter. The most popular item for children during the trip is "ice powder", which costs only 5 yuan. It looks like jelly, with cold brown sugar water, sesame seeds, peanuts, raisins and other small ingredients, and a little mint powder. It is refreshing and delicious. It feels much milder than the shaved ice in the north! Watching the Dong ethnic group's big song performance at 10 o'clock is the most distinctive cultural activity in the Dong village. The Dong people have three treasures: drum tower, flower bridge, and Dong ethnic group big song. The themes range from labor, sacrifice, to love between men and women, and the singing and dancing are very characteristic of the Dong village! At the end, the tourists present will be invited to dance together! We like Tang'an Dong Village very much. Maybe if it is not the weekend, there will be fewer people, and it will feel better.

There are many places in Zhaoxing Dong Village that sell shuttle bus tickets here. It costs 20 yuan for a round trip, but you can't buy a one-way trip. The place to take the bus is in front of the Light and Shadow Inn. It takes about 40 minutes to go around the mountain. In Tang'an Dong Village, there are drum towers, stage, gourd wells and wind and rain bridges of the Dong ethnic group. Of course, the biggest attraction is the Tang'an terraced fields. It can be seen that Tang'an Dong Village is still very ethnic. The village is basically inhabited by aborigines. You can see many old men and women wearing ethnic costumes. Now is their busy farming season, so you can see villagers planting rice everywhere. I originally wanted to walk back to Zhaoxing from Tang'an along the terraced fields, but because the weather was bad and it was raining, I took the bus back. Friends who like hiking and love rural scenery can come here to stay for two or three days. Nine villages and eight villages are waiting for you to conquer.

There is basically no business here, it is very primitive and the terraced fields are beautiful.

It was the Dragon Boat Festival and there were many tourists. They said the bus was stuck up there and couldn't get off, so even though we arrived on time, we still had to wait for the bus for a long time. Tourism is really underdeveloped.

Tang'an is known as the most beautiful Dong village. It is said that it was first discovered by Norwegian tourists, and then became popular abroad and then spread to China. So there is a Sino-Norwegian museum inside, which is a very unique idea. If you are interested, go there to see it. It is different from the common museums.

Tang'an Dong Village is surrounded by green mountains, peaks and terraces. The hiking route from Tang'an to Zhaoxing is mostly paved with stone slabs, which is easy to walk on. Only a small section of the road has not been repaired. It rained the day before our hike. We saw the terraced scenery surrounded by clouds and fog. If you don't go to Jiabang to see the terraced fields, you can go to Tang'an to see it.

The gate to the village is short and shabby, and the wood on the top is covered with moss. It’s obvious that this is not the main gate for outside tourists. But it’s exactly the feeling I want. A group of old men were playing cards in the cool air under the drum tower. They were only surprised for a moment when they saw me coming, and then continued to have fun with their heads down. I walked around them and saw a unique and slightly funny stone well at the foot of the mountain. I quickly went forward and took out the empty water bottle in my bag and filled it with a full bottle. I gulped down half of the bottle and savored it carefully. It was clear and sweet!

I didn't see any tourists except me along the way. I was also very surprised. It's almost the Dragon Boat Festival, so it shouldn't be such a low season. I think everyone is resting in the inn or under the shade of trees. It just happened to be what I wanted. I was most afraid that the crowds of tourists would ruin the fun of sightseeing.

This picturesque mountain village seems to have been muted. Walking in it, the cool mountain breeze gently blows on my face, and the wild flowers on the roadside nod to me. It is really comfortable.

This is my first time to see the terraced fields. They are full of green and vitality, extending layer by layer from the top of the mountain to the foot of the mountain. It is so spectacular.

There is a large pond next to the drum tower in the center of the village.

In addition to washing clothes, housewives from every household in the village would meet by the water to slaughter chickens and ducks, pluck their feathers, and remove their internal organs. All of this was done by the pond because the water was flowing. If it was turbid at this moment, it would be clean again after a while. The adults were busy with their work on the shore while chatting about family matters, while the children went into the water to play. It was a lively scene.

Enjoy the feeling of wandering in the mountains. The stream, trees, barking dogs, and smoke from cooking are wonderful.

Tang'an Dong Village is one of my paradises.

The rippling blue waves are beautiful; the clouds and mists are lingering, like a fairyland. Compared with Zhaoxing, Tang'an has not been developed yet. There are only a hundred households in the village, but few inns. Most tourists choose to stay in Zhaoxing and walk to Tang'an to see the terraced fields. After a walk around the village, I found a luxurious stilt house with a base made of many broken stones. Climbing up the stairs, it is a wooden stilt house. There is a password lock on the door and it is surrounded by surveillance cameras, which is surprising. I asked the locals and found that this is a museum built by the government. In fact, in the upper source of the village, I have seen a museum, which is mostly new. The wall-mounted TV inside plays a documentary in a loop. There are many daily farming activities and festivals of the Dong people on the wooden walls. I don’t know what will be put in this museum with a locked door and not yet fully built. The elementary school children in the village told us that there was an old museum in the village, and now there is a TV in the new museum. It seems that the country has implemented nine-year compulsory education, and the results are very remarkable. Children in the mountain valleys can understand what we say, and they are so generous. But seeing them all wearing Hanfu, I was a little worried. Will they become like us and lose the flavor of the New Year? Fortunately, the children told us that they wear Dongfu during various festivals. Well, there is still hope for the inheritance of traditional culture and the integration of modern times. In the future, we can still see different landscapes and feel the multicultural China.

Whenever I see pictures of terraced fields on my WeChat Moments, I am always attracted by the different colors of the terraced fields under different lighting conditions. Although it is not the best season for taking photos, I finally stood in front of it after all. It looks great! The terraced field architecture in Tangan Dong Village is another unique feature. Most terraced fields are made of mud, but this one is made of stone. No matter what season, the terraced fields will always make people shine.

Tang'an is located at a higher altitude and is relatively primitive and simple, without much commercial atmosphere. It is basically the daily life of the Dong people in its original flavor.

Ordinary days are without worries or joys. Although the trivialities of life are repeated every day, simplicity can easily lead to tranquility. Tranquility is good for management, and management can create a beautiful life.

Accustomed to the busy streets, tired of the bright lights and nightlife of the city, numb to the noise of nine to five work, returning to nature seems to be the best destination. I hope I can wash away the turbidity inside me here.

We took a car up the mountain to Tang'an Dong Village. After getting off the car, we were stunned by the scenery in front of us. The green terraces were spectacular.

Before leaving for Guizhou, a close friend strongly recommended me to go to Tang'an Dong Village, saying that it was more interesting than Zhaoxing Dong Village.

So I bought a round-trip bus ticket to Tang'an in Zhaoxingli, and planned to go there to take a look ~ 20 yuan/person/round trip.

As soon as I got off the car, I was amazed by the vast terraced fields.

Entering the village, you can see ancient stilt houses everywhere.

Although there are inns here, very few people stay there. The inconvenient transportation may be a major reason.

The tall drum tower stands in the center of the village, which is particularly eye-catching. In the Dong village, the drum tower is not only a building, but also a favorite place for people to gather and discuss. More often, it is a concentrated spiritual home. The drum tower is the reason for the Dong village, the old people "playing ancient music" under the drum tower, and the Dong legends that have been passed down for thousands of years.

The Donan terraced fields have a special feature: the terraced fields in other places are mostly made of mud, but here they are made of stones. This is probably because the mountains here are steep and there are many stones in the mountains, making it difficult to level the land, so they had to pile up stones and fill the soil to form fields.

The shuttle bus to and from Tang'an Dong Village is very unpunctual!

Although the departure time was written on the bus schedule, Xiaoxin and Xiaoyang waited for 20 minutes at the departure point and still did not see the bus. There were about a dozen other people waiting for the bus. They called the number on the ticket, but the other party just said they would ask. In addition, the complaint phone number was not in service!

Since we needed to catch a train at night, we had no choice but to hitchhike around to see if there were any kind people willing to take us back.

Tang'an Dong Village is located on the mountain of Zhaoxing. It is a relatively small but still relatively simple village. It is not much developed and has its own characteristics. I walked up the mountain along the slate steps of the terraced fields, taking pictures along the way and admiring the faint terraced fields in the distance. It was as if I was in a dream.

The fog gradually dissipated, and the mountains in the fog gradually revealed their true appearance. The terraced fields that had not yet been planted also had different colors and layers, forming a wonderful picture. It is really beautiful here!

People built Dong villages and terraced fields on the hills, which are well-arranged. They make full use of the natural environment of nature. When I saw the degree of wear and tear of the stone slabs on the mountain road, I knew that this place has a history of thousands of years. The terraced fields not only carry human production and life, but now it is a paradise on earth. The beauty of the staggered layers creates an excellent visual effect of the terraced fields.

Whenever there are guests visiting, they will always welcome them warmly, set up wine to block the door, and sing toasts. The house they live in is called a stilt house. The bottom floor is suspended to raise livestock, the second floor is for living, and the third floor is for storing grain. It is all made of wood. The ancient buildings are connected by mortise and tenon joints, without a single iron nail. Living in it is warm in winter and cool in summer. There are terraced fields on the mountain and clear mountain spring water that can be drunk directly. Living here is like a paradise, without competing with the world.

Tang'an is one of the four eco-museums jointly built and protected by China and Norway, and it is also the only eco-museum of the Dong ethnic group. Tang'an is a microcosm of the Dong culture, with tourism resource development value and human ecological protection value. It is very quiet and leisurely, and I hope it can be maintained forever. The terraced fields outside the village are very spectacular.

Tang'an is relatively primitive and relatively small, so two hours is plenty for you. It has typical corner towers and directly drinkable mountain springs. The environment is very good, and the sour plum soup at the entrance of the village is delicious.

There is a small museum in Tang'an Dong Village, but there is basically no one there, only some pictures of the Dong village customs are on display.

Suggestions: 1. You can choose to climb up the mountain, walk along the Tang'an Cloud Trail, and see the terraced fields along the way (but be sure to use sunscreen and repel insects. Don't be like me, a girl with bare arms and thighs, no sunscreen, no umbrella, and only two lenses. I was bitten by mosquitoes and got a lot of black spots). 2. You can take a bus directly to the top of the mountain. The ticket is RMB 20, including round-trip.

Because of time constraints, I chose to take a car, which took about 20 minutes to get to the mountain. Tang'an Dong Village is smaller and more lifelike, with basically no commercialization. There are only some places to eat and buy water, and the water is quite cheap.

There are round-trip buses between Zhaoxing Dong Village and Tang'an Dong Village, which run once an hour and seem to cost 20 yuan per person. There are ticket offices and boarding points on the main road of Zhaoxing Dong Village.

Tang'an Dong Village has a parking lot, no parking fee, no tickets. Tang'an Dong Village is very low in commercialization, but there are restaurants for eating and inns for accommodation, but there are no shops selling "Yiwu specialties" and no tour groups.

There is a stage in the Dong Village. The decorations of the stage are still there after the Children's Day. If you arrive a day in advance, you should be able to see the performance. The Dong Village is built along the mountain, and the stone road extends to every household.

Going up the mountain along the path from the parking lot, you will see the village group. A village is not complete without a drum tower. There is also a drum tower where villagers gather. The drum tower is carved with dragons and phoenixes, and decorated with curling grass patterns that reflect people's yearning for life. The decorated drum tower looks outstanding and extraordinary.

The village has stilt houses scattered around and winding paths, which make people feel calm while walking around. There is a famous mountain spring in the village, which is warm in winter and cool in summer, and flows all year round. This well is the mother well in the village, named Piaojing, and is well-known far and wide. Even in the village where tap water is available everywhere, people still use it as drinking water.
