Cangyan Mountain Scenic Area

Cangyan Mountain Scenic Area is located in Jingxing County, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, about 30 kilometers north of Jingxing County and about 70 kilometers northeast of Shijiazhuang City.
The core of Cangyan Mountain Scenic Area is the "Three Wonders of Cangyan": the first wonder is the "bridge, building and hall". The bridge is above the cliffs, with a building on the bridge and a hall inside the building. It is now one of the three largest hanging temples in China; the second wonder is the "white sandalwood tree". The roots of the sandalwood tree are exposed, with a strange shape, and its trunk is hollow enough for one person to rest inside the tree; the third wonder is the "ancient cypress pilgrimage". Tens of millions of cliff cypress, sand cypress and fragrant cypress on the cliffs grow towards the direction of Nanyang Princess Temple.
Cangyan Mountain is also a famous film and television base. Many movies and TV series such as "Journey to the West", "Legend of Yiwei Heroes", "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", "White Dragon Sword", "The Mummy 3", "The Feather Letter", "The Great Doctor", "The Raid", and "Mulan" were shot here.

Cangyan Mountain is known as "the most beautiful mountain among the Five Great Mountains, and Cangyan is the only one among the Taihang Mountains". It is said to have three wonders (flying rainbow over the bridge and palace, green sandalwood by the stream, and strange cypress on the cliff) and sixteen sceneries. The most famous attraction is the Bridge Tower and Palace.

Going up from the mountain gate step by step, you can say that every step is a scene. All the buildings are small and exquisite, built on the broken rocks or across the steep cliffs, just like "fairy mountain pavilions".

There are shuttle buses to Cangyan Mountain near Shijiazhuang Xiwang Bus Station and Jingxing Bus Station.

The management of the scenic area needs to be improved, but the scenery is pretty good. You can go

First of all, you have to be mentally prepared for self-driving. The route is very remote. Secondly, the environment of the scenic spot is extremely bad. There is a lot of garbage at the entrance. It seems that it has not been cleaned for a long time. I don’t know if it is because of winter. It seems particularly desolate. I don’t recommend going. The ticket is a bit expensive and not worth it at all. I really don’t recommend going. I really don’t recommend going.

Cangyan Bayern

70 kilometers southwest of Guojizhuang is Cangyan Mountain, where Jade Fox jumped to complete her rebirth from my mother to Guoji Zhang. As a die-hard fan of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", I have to visit it.

I didn't go there on purpose, as the day I went was the 28th day of the second lunar month. I ran into almost all the aunties in Hebei Province. When I asked them why, I found out that the third day of the third lunar month is the Nanyang Princess Temple Fair in Cangyan Mountain, and the few days before the third day of the third lunar month is also the Chinese Dama Summit. Well, after eye contact, I knew I had met the right person.

It was raining, and the air in Shijiazhuang became relatively clear. I took the cable car up and walked down the mountain. It was muddy and shocking all the way. In Xiaoyueyue's words, "Oh my God, I have never seen so many temples of all kinds. I encountered not only the China Aunt Summit, buy one get one free, but also the China Incense Conference, which was absolutely worth the ticket price." The incense burned by the believers and the rain and fog intertwined, making the originally beautiful Cangyan Mountain look a bit pale.

As you go down, some people worship the princess, some worship the Dragon King, some worship the twelve zodiac animals. Each one will pull you in to worship. The most common question I encounter is, "Who are you worshipping?"

As someone who likes the Bundesliga, I answered weakly, "I'm from Bayern."

Cangyan Mountain has beautiful scenery. It has been the site of several movies and TV shows. It can be considered a 5A scenic spot based on the scenery. It takes about 3 hours to go back and forth to the scenic spots and take pictures. The first half is an ancient monument, and the second half of the mountain top is more newly built. The mountain is not too high, but if you have problems with your legs and feet, you can take a cable car. The ticket price is 65 yuan for adults. There are not too many people in the scenic area, and it is not crowded during festivals. It is a very cost-effective scenic spot. There are cold noodles, noodles and other snacks in the small stalls on the mountain. They are more than ten yuan, which is not expensive, but there are not many varieties. It is recommended to bring your own food. Let's talk about transportation. It took me a long time to figure it out. From Shijiazhuang Xiwang Bus Station to Cangyan Mountain, there are direct buses on important holidays. The time and number of buses are not fixed. It is recommended to call the consultation phone first. The direct bus is also a temporarily allocated vehicle. If it is full, leave in advance, otherwise it must depart on time. There is one at more than 8 o'clock in the morning. If there are many people, more vehicles may be added. I don't know if the direct bus ticket is fixed. We did pay 50 yuan per person for round trip. These direct buses seem to be privately contracted vehicles. If there are vacancies, they will temporarily pick up passengers halfway. Moreover, they are called direct buses. Generally, they need to go around Jingxing to Cangyan Mountain. It takes about one hour and 40 minutes without traffic jams. Some people on the Internet say that they may take the expressway, but we didn't take it that time. We waited for the bus for half an hour in the morning, and people got on and off halfway. The ticket price was very expensive, which didn't seem worth it. Another option is to take a bus from Shijiazhuang Xiwang Bus Station to Jingxing County first, and then take a bus from Jingxing to Cangyan Mountain. The Xiwang Bus Station starts at 6:30, and it seems that there is one every ten minutes. The ticket is 13 yuan if you take the expressway, and 12 yuan if you don't take the ticket. After calling the police, take the local bus and then go to Cangyan Mountain. It is also very convenient, and the ticket should be about the same price. There are also trains to Jingxing from Shijiazhuang North Station. There are not many trains every day. If the time is right, you can also take the train and then reverse. The time difference between taking a bus directly to Cangyan Mountain and taking a transfer bus to Jingxing should not be too big, so you can choose to go according to your personal situation. In short, Cangyan Mountain has good scenery, but the management and hardware supporting facilities need to be improved, and the transportation is not very convenient. Just for the scenery, it is still worth a trip!

You must buy an electronic ticket at least one hour in advance, otherwise it will not be recognized immediately. Student ID is half price ~ 65 yuan adult ticket feels expensive! Overall, the climbing process takes half an hour to reach the most distinctive hanging hall, and then the Dharma platform is also quite distinctive, and then the temple. Overall, the climbing is not very tiring and is relatively gentle. After all, the altitude is not high, and it is relatively easy overall.

By China-TravelNote users |

I took my elderly and children to travel and climb the mountain. They charged parking fees at the entrance. They directed me to park. When I came down the mountain, I saw cars in front and behind me! It was sunny. No one cared. I was wondering what the management staff was doing. Is it just to collect fees? The management is terrible. I called the management office but they refused to answer!

The scenic area has a hall built on two mountain walls, as well as antique cultural relics. There are not many people, it is worth a visit. From the train station to the scenic area, find the route to Cangyan Mountain.

The whole scenic area is not very big. If you walk a short distance from the entrance, you can see the long stone steps and three bridges hanging high between the rocks, which is a bit shocking. The Hanging Temple where Yu Jiaolong jumped off is the center of the whole scenic area and should be the only attraction 😅.

After visiting the Hanging Temple, what’s left is to climb the mountain to breathe fresh air and see the various temples that have been restored to look like new, with a tacky, rough and shabby feel? But my personal feeling is that it might be worth a round trip from Beijing just to see the Hanging Temple... right?

Especially when we risked our lives to go there during the Qingming Festival, there were still unscientifically few tourists in the scenic area. It is worth bragging about the small number of tourists.

However, the whole scenic area has the common problem of our country's scenic spots. Where the original features should be preserved, too much effort is put into it. Where the focus should be on improving the tourist experience, it is basically ignored. So the overall experience is good scenery + bad experience. It's a bit regrettable.

I know Cangyan Mountain because of the jump of Jade Fox in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I took my parents to Cangyan Mountain, so I chose to take the cable car. The cable car is 25 per person, and the ticket is 40. The ticket place says that the seniors are half price, but it is not half price on the day. It's a bit of a scam. After going up the mountain, I walked down the mountain road and there were temples everywhere. There was one every few dozen meters. I didn't quite understand the mystery. Anyway, I went to the Hanging Temple and didn't go into the temple too much. There was a temple fair on the day I went there. There were many people burning incense, and the incense was very prosperous. The Hanging Temple is the last attraction to see when taking the cable car up the mountain. If you climb the mountain by yourself, the first attraction is the Hanging Temple. If you are not a believer, I think you don't need to go up the mountain after seeing the Hanging Temple and walk forward to a big rock where you can view the view. The Hanging Temple is worth seeing. The ancient bridge building hall is built on an arched bridge between two mountains. There are 3 bridges in total, and you have to walk on each one. The entire Cangyan Mountain is not high. The most difficult part to climb is probably the steps from the entrance to the Qiaolou Temple. The road to the top of the mountain is easier to walk. If you have bad legs or want to save trouble, just take the cable car and walk down. It's not tiring at all! I'll complain again. The toilet at the entrance of this scenic spot is the best, the one at the top of the mountain is second, and the toilets in other places are very bad. Fortunately, the scenic spot is not big, so it's ok to stick to it! If you drive there by yourself, you must drive to the cable car. It is close to the entrance of the scenic spot or the cable car. Otherwise, you have to walk a section of the mountain road after parking at the foot of the mountain. Don't waste your energy.

The scenery is nice, but the management is too poor! There are all kinds of garbage and beverage bottles in the river outside the scenic area, and there are all kinds of things thrown in the bushes in the parking lot. It is not very strenuous to go up the mountain, about 1.5 hours, the ticket price is 65, but it is actually sold for 40. You can take the cable car from the top platform to go down the mountain, the ticket price is 25 yuan, and it takes about 20 minutes to reach the foot of the mountain. Don't eat the meal. It's not a question of hygiene or unsanitary. Standing on the street and passing by, there is a greasy smell! Biscuit crumbs can be seen everywhere in the scenic area, thrown everywhere, even the stone lion guarding the door has a few in its mouth, which is particularly incomprehensible! Can't it be cleaned up? Such a good natural resource is a pity! Oh, by the way, beggars in ragged clothes squat under the tree to ask for money from time to time near the top platform of the scenic area! No one manages the scenic area! I don't want to go there again, the pictures are all beautiful, so disappointed!

Cangyan Mountain is a small human-made mountain in the Taihang Mountains. The scenery is ordinary, but it is very photogenic. Because it is not well-known, there are few tourists, which adds a bit of tranquility. If you want to take pictures of the scenery like a paradise, you need to go down the steps to the opposite side of the Hanging Temple. From this angle, it looks like the place where the gods in Journey to the West live:)

By China-TravelNote users |

I went to Cangyan Mountain during the National Day holiday. The weather was good, there were not many people, and I had a lot of fun. The only thing that made me uncomfortable was that I ate at a roadside farmhouse after I came down the mountain. After the meal, I found that I was ripped off. The only staple food that was not clearly marked with a price, rice, ended up costing 8 yuan a bowl, which was the most expensive rice I have ever eaten. It was not a lot of money, but it ruined my good impression of Jingxing and Cangyan Mountain. Everyone should pay attention to it and ask for prices first if there are no prices in the future. Otherwise, you will be ripped off.

By Sightseeing |

The biggest attraction of Cangyan Mountain is the Bridge Tower Hall, followed by the Fawei Terrace. It is also nice to see the Taihang Mountain stone wall behind Pusa Ding, which can replace going to Zanhuang to see the stone wall. There is nothing to see in the temple at Pusa Ding, it is a modern one.

The last time I went to Cangyan Mountain was more than 20 years ago, when I was in elementary school and went there for a spring outing. At that time, the entrance fee had not yet been charged, and I basically forgot what it was like. I only remember that the spring outing was our happiest day. I remember that we didn’t take a bus, but a Jiefang brand truck. The brave ones were willing to hang on the back to see the scenery, but they were afraid of falling off when the brakes were applied. I will have the opportunity to go there again this weekend to relive the joy of childhood!

The scenery is pretty good, but the downside is that there are only mountains and temples. It may be more suitable for people who are interested in Buddhist culture. We had a good time.

By Li Jianjian |

The snow on Cangshan Mountain and the moon on Erhai Lake were really something I could appreciate. The snow on Cangshan Mountain was so strong that the wind blew even the snow particles on the top of the mountain down.

Actually, I wanted to come to Cangyan Mountain mainly to see the Qiaolou Hall, one of the three largest hanging temples in China. It was almost 1pm when I arrived at the Cangyan Mountain parking lot. There were still a lot of cars, but fortunately there was no traffic jam. I quickly stopped to eat something and bought a ticket to enter the mountain.

I really have to complain here: the planning of Cangyan Mountain seems to be problematic. When driving in, you first pass the ticket office, which is very hidden and the signs are not clear. Then you have to drive forward to reach the parking lot, and next to the parking lot is the cable car ticket office and entrance. After eating, we walked for a long time to the ticket office, and that was after asking two people. I bought the ticket at the ticket office and then walked back to the cable car ticket office to buy the cable car ticket. I was really dizzy and walked around in the sun! ! So I remind everyone that if you want to take the cable car up, you must go down first to buy the ticket and then park inside!

Tickets: I don't know how much it costs per person, 2 adults and 2 elderly people were charged 160 yuan!

Cable car: one way 25 yuan/person

Reference time: 3 hours (cable car up, walk down)

By Xinghan |

I drove there during the National Day holiday. There were not many cars on the road and not many people in the scenic area, which was good. The scenic area is a bit dilapidated, the scenery is average, and the temples along the road are even more dilapidated. It's not very tiring to climb up, but the way down is quite steep. Those with less physical strength can take the cable car down.

Cangyan Mountain is a scenic spot organized by the school. We hope that students can use their own ideas and combine them with reality. Take your own works in one day! Cangyan Mountain is located 50 kilometers southwest of Shijiazhuang City, in Jingxing County, with a total area of 63 square kilometers and a height of 1,039.6 meters. It is said to be a famous historical and cultural mountain in China, a national key scenic spot, a national 4A-level tourist area, and Cangyan Mountain Fuqing Temple, as the core scenic spot of Cangyan Mountain, is listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in China.

By distance |

One of the three largest hanging temples in China, the combination of scenery and architecture is amazing! The scenic area is not big, and you can finish it in half a day if you are fast. I will come again in other seasons if I have the chance. The toilet is awkward, only the right side of the scenic area ticket gate is available, and those near the bridge building hall are locked, maybe because there is a lack of water and few people.

The filming location of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon has nice scenery, but the sanitation is really bad. There is garbage all over the floor, which ruins the view.

Cangyan Mountain, the most beautiful mountain in Taihang Mountains, is located in the southwest of Jingxing County, Hebei Province. It has beautiful scenery, a majestic main hall and a beautiful legend that has touched countless tourists.

It is said that Princess Nanyang, the daughter of Emperor Yang of Sui (popularly known as the Third Princess), once practiced cultivation here. When you come to Cangyan Mountain, you will find lush green pines and cypresses. The stone monkeys, stone tigers and sandalwood trees all have beautiful legends. The bridges and halls spanning the two cliffs are even more magnificent, making people admire the unique skills of ancient Chinese architecture. The Zen temples, masts and academies on the cliffs allow visitors to appreciate the beauty of ancient Chinese architecture and the profoundness of folk art and culture.

When you get off the highway at Jingxing Xiulin (Jingxing West), you will see the cave roads, Thousand Buddha Caves, Stone Village, Fox Fairy Cave... it is truly a beautiful sight along the way.

What attracted me to Cangyan Mountain was the temple built on a bridge in a photo - the Bridge Hall, also known as the Hanging Temple. I drove to Cangyan Mountain at the end of December. It was almost 4 pm when I arrived at Cangyan Mountain. It was very desolate and there was almost no human presence (it was Saturday). I wondered if it was still open? The cable car had stopped operating, and the largest "Cangyan Mountain Hotel" here had closed down.

Just when we were hesitating, an old lady appeared on the roadside and volunteered to drive our car directly to the top of the mountain. She waited for us at the top of the mountain to go down the mountain and enter the scenic area for free tours, charging only 50 yuan for the road fee. I didn't mean to save money, but it was so desolate and there was no cable car, so this was the only way. After waiting on the roadside for the guard on duty to go home, the old lady pointed us to a mountain road, and the car actually drove to the highest point - next to Yuhuangding. But my car is not an off-road vehicle. In order to avoid the countless big potholes in the middle of the dirt road, I can only twist the body of the car constantly to prevent it from dragging the bottom. As a result, after I finally got down the mountain, I found that the sides of the car body were scratched like melons by the thorns on the roadside - I guess the polishing machine can hit it.

At first I was worried about the staff checking tickets, but I found that there were no tourists, let alone staff (just like in Stone Village, there was no one checking tickets). This is the advantage of winter travel that I like---quietness

By Unlimited imagination |

There is no service other than ticket sales, but the road guardrails and signboards are quite complete.

By Elegant-World |

Many TV movies were filmed here, and it is one of the three major hanging temples. The scenery is beyond words! Qiaolou Hall, Nanyang Princess Temple, Tongtian Cave, Lecture Rock, etc. Go up the mountain in the afternoon and go down in the evening. There are few people. The mountain is not high, and there is a view at every step. It is not tiring and you don’t need to take a cable car. There is a grand temple fair on the third day of the third lunar month. The price will increase if there are more people! The accommodation in the farmhouse is cheap and you can take a shower. The Cangyan Hotel actually has no bath water. Local conditions are gradually improving, so don’t ask for too much.

Very unique, clean environment, memorable, worthwhile trip. Worthy of the title of national 4A scenic spot, recommended.

By Clean wind and dust |

Cangyan Mountain is very deserted, and there are not many tourists, but fortunately I can savor it carefully. The mountain is not big, but it is true that the mountain is not famous for its height, but for the immortals.

If it were summer, it would seem like a good place to go, and it would be a good place to go around. In winter, the light is clearer, and although there is no green, there is less of the summer haze. The air is unusually clean, and the smell is like light smoke blowing past.

By Star |

There are many ancient monuments on Cangyan Mountain, some of which are modern imitations, but most of them are real antiques. Moreover, there are not many tourists and the mountain road is not in a hurry, which is suitable for relaxing and savoring slowly!

A nice scenic spot. The mountain is mainly religious buildings, with temples and Taoist temples. The mountain is not high and it is not difficult to climb. It is recommended to climb up and then take the cable car down the mountain. Do not buy a round trip for the cable car, otherwise you will not be able to visit. There are many ancient relics in the temple, and the Hanging Temple is very unique! The reason for giving three stars is that we caught up with heavy rain when we took the cable car down the mountain. There was a trend of thunderstorms before getting on the cable car, but the staff did not stop it. The cable car stopped operating due to thunderstorms halfway through. We were suspended in the wind and rain for a full 15 minutes. It felt very dangerous. Please strengthen safety measures!

The bridge where Jiaolong jumped into the abyss was the bridge on Cangyan Mountain. I still remember it. It was very spectacular looking down from the bridge.

"Hidden Dragon Crouching Tiger" was filmed in Cangyan Mountain. I don't remember most of the shots, but the bridge where Jiaolong jumped into the abyss at the end was this bridge on Cangyan Mountain. I still remember it.

I went there during the National Day holiday, and there weren't many people there at the time, so it's worth a visit! See where Yu Jiaolong jumped off the cliff in the movie and learn about the life of Princess Nanyang.

By oops |

The ticket is 50 yuan per person. Cangyan Mountain is generally good as a scenic spot in the north, with mountains, water, rugged rocks and towering trees. Although some buildings at the foot of the mountain are not unique, they also have ancient charm. But except for a few local villagers who collect parking fees and solicit customers for meals, there are basically no people, which makes me feel cold and lonely.

This place is between two mountains. Legend has it that it was built by Lu Ban. In winter, firewood was filled in, water was poured on it, and after it froze solid, the materials were transported up to build the hall between the two mountains. This place has become famous since the filming of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was filmed here.

By sytloveai |

You can go and have a look, it is well built. But there are a lot of people during the temple fair. The order is a bit chaotic. Also, those temples charge money for burning incense. As long as you enter, you have to burn incense, and then you have to pay.

By Tianjin Lao Hu |

Cangyan Mountain is not high, and the core landscape is the "Qiaolou Hall" halfway up the mountain. Qiaolou Hall is one of the three major hanging temples in my country. There are two peaks facing each other here, with steep cliffs and a line in the middle, overlooking a deep ravine of a hundred feet. The movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was filmed here, making it famous overseas. There are many large and small temples on the top of the mountain, which are crudely made. There are all kinds of gods, ghosts, monsters, and even Sun Wukong. There is no aesthetic value and historical value. And the environment is very poor, with smoke and miasma. Basically, you can go back when you reach Qiaolou Hall.

By Travel without boundaries |

The steepness of Cangyan Mountain is well-deserved. Many temples are built on cliffs.

A great place near Beijing, the farm dishes at the foot of the mountain are very simple.
