Puning Temple is a unique Han-Tibetan temple, close to the Mountain Resort. The most worth seeing is the Thousand-armed and Thousand-eyed Guanyin.

As far as I can remember, I have been to pure Han Buddhist temples and Tibetan Buddhist temples before, but I have never seen such multi-colored pagodas in groups.

In a Buddhist holy place, you can draw lots and tell fortunes. The results are reliable to a certain extent, but! The interpreters inside are really deceptive. After reading your fortune, they don't give you an explanation or are unwilling to explain it to you. They just try their best to sell you Buddhist items just to make money. They have no piety to Buddha in their hearts. As a Buddhist holy place, people with distracting thoughts should be expelled!

There are still lamas in Puning Temple, which is different from other temples. You can pray, the scenery is average, the Guanyin statue is very large, but it is difficult to see from different angles.

I like the Thousand-armed Guanyin the most, it is really a masterpiece.

It is a national key cultural relic protection unit, with well-preserved buildings and a Han-dynasty architectural style. The wooden sculpture of Guanyin is very shocking and worth a serious visit.

Puning Temple is actually the center of religious activities of the Outer Eight Temples. It has witnessed many historical scenes of ethnic harmony and cultural integration. When the Third and Fourth Zhangjia Living Buddhas came to Rehe, they would first go to Puning Temple to pay homage. In the 45th year of Qianlong's reign, the Sixth Panchen Lama came all the way from Tibet to congratulate Qianlong on his 70th birthday. He first stayed at Puning Temple and then went to live in Xumi Fushou Temple.

By the way, there are incense sellers inside, but I haven't bought any. They should be more expensive than those sold everywhere outside. There is a long alley leading to the exit, with small handicrafts sold on both sides. If you like them and they are not expensive, you can take some as small gifts. If they are too expensive and it is difficult to tell whether the materials are real or fake, don't easily spend money on them.

In fact, Puning Temple is also connected to Puyou Temple, which is included in the ticket. The whole visit takes about an hour and a half. I parked in a private parking space outside the parking lot and bargained for 15 yuan.

The Thousand-armed Guanyin in Puning Temple is really amazing. It is made entirely of wood. Although it is not a whole piece of wood, nor is it one type of wood, it is still amazing. I personally think it is worth seeing. Puning Temple is the only temple in Chengde that burns incense. If you believe in Buddhism, you can try it.

After leaving Puning Temple, I originally planned to visit the Little Potala Palace, but was told that ticket sales had stopped and I could only watch from a distance.

It is one of the Outer Eight Temples. You can take a look around and buy a combined ticket for Bangchui Mountain and the Little Potala Palace.

It takes about 5 minutes by taxi from Bangchui Mountain. The main purpose of coming here is to burn incense, but it is also nice to see the scenery from a high place~~~

Warm reminder, we only found out when we arrived at Puning Temple that we can buy a combined ticket here, which is much cheaper. It usually includes more than 3 attractions, basically several attractions in the Outer Eight Temples, such as the Little Potala Palace + Bangchui Mountain + Puning Temple. I remember it was about 210. If you buy it separately, each ticket costs about 80~~~

This kind of attraction is really not interesting to us girls who have no religious beliefs. Maybe we think all temples are the same, with two generals, "good weather", a group of big Buddhas and similar halls. The weather was so hot that we walked around and stopped, and everyone said that they would never visit temples on their next trip.
