Built in 1381 AD, it is the first pass at the eastern starting point of the Great Wall and the dividing line between the inner and outer passes. It was an important barrier for Beijing during the Ming Dynasty.
It is a complete and strict military defense system composed of the pass city, urn city, Luocheng, wing city, sentry city and beacon tower, which is easy to defend but difficult to attack.
Due to its unique construction, it stands out among the many dangerous passes of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty and is known as "the key to the two capitals and the first pass of the Great Wall".

The off-season ticket price for the delisted 5A scenic spot is only 15 yuan. According to Xiaodu, the delisting was caused by chaotic management and fraud. Although it was delisted, the visual effect is still great. You can enjoy the treatment of booking the whole scenic spot during the off-season, and the number of people in the whole scenic spot does not exceed 100. It turns out that Meng Jiangnu cried down the Great Wall at Shanhaiguan, which is a knowledge-enhancing event. Such a military fortress connecting the inside and outside of the pass actually has a bit of the feeling of a Jiangnan water town. Most of the soldiers guarding the border may have left their homes and borrowed things to miss their hometown. In the inner city, the stone lions at the gate are guarding the weapons division, and their heads are covered with weeds.
Actually, we should have come to this Guancheng later, as there is a temple fair inside, but we went through a side door, and we couldn't come back after going out~ It is necessary to implement one-way traffic for safety reasons during the Spring Festival, but we must also be prepared to notify tourists, or have alternative plans. After all, we are unfamiliar with the area, and it would be quite difficult to go out from another door and then walk back to the parking lot~ Seeing such festive tickets, how can I not feel relieved!
Fortunately, when we were waiting for someone, the ticket inspector explained the details to us, and we knew the above information. Otherwise, it would be really funny if we followed the crowd and couldn’t get back to the parking lot. Here, I would like to praise the ticket inspector. When he saw that I had an old version of the map in my hand, he went back to the office to get me the latest map. I like it for you manually~
On the shore of the vast Bohai Sea, at the foot of the rolling Yanshan Mountains, there is a majestic tower, leaning against the mountain and facing the sea, with a magnificent view. This is the historical pass, an important pass in the eastern part of the Great Wall, and Shanhaiguan, known as the "No. 1 Pass in the World". Shanhaiguan is an important part of the Great Wall. The existing Shanhaiguan Pass and the nearby Great Wall, castles, and towers are all Ming Dynasty buildings. According to historical records, in the 14th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1381 AD), General Xu Da, Duke of Wei, saw that this place "surrounded by mountains and the sea, and was the throat of Liao and Ji, so he moved here" and built a pass and set up a guard. "Shanhaiguan" got its name because it was located between mountains and sea.
This scenic spot is really average, the hotel is expensive and the service is poor, the scenic spot tickets are too expensive, and the AAAAA sign was taken off the second year after I went there. I don't know how it is being rectified now.
Shanhaiguan Scenic Area is very large. There are more than ten kilometers between the first pass and Laolongtou, which is a bit unexpected. Fortunately, there are buses between them, but it is quite far to walk out of the scenic area.
As the first pass at the eastern starting point of the Great Wall, Shanhaiguan is the dividing line between the inner and outer passes and an important barrier to Beijing, the capital of the Ming Dynasty. It stands out among the many dangerous passes of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty and is known as "the key to the two capitals and the first pass of the Great Wall."
You can walk to the scenic spot from Shanhaiguan Railway Station, about half an hour's walk and one bus stop away. It was once disqualified as a 5A scenic spot. Now all services have been improved. It is worth a visit. Friends who drive by themselves, don't trust the villagers to take you into the scenic spot. Be careful ⚠️ You can try the four steamed buns on the pedestrian street of the scenic spot. There is an additional charge for walking around the city tower.
The best level in the world The best level in the world
Shanhaiguan
Built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty
Built by Qi Jiguang
It is the only section of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty in the sea.
Therefore, it is called Lao Longtou
This should be a landmark building in Hebei Province. It is worth a visit. I like the peanut cakes sold here. They are sweet. My father likes them very much.
I came here to see the city tower of Shanhaiguan, the first pass in the world. It is quite majestic.
The No. 1 Pass in the World is very famous, but the scenery is average. After you get up there, there are several towers and connected city walls.
This is a famous tourist attraction, but it is the first scenic spot in China to be downgraded due to poor management.
Locals can get free tickets if they solicit customers to enter the city.
Of course there is also kidnapping consumption.
The ancient town is not small, and there are construction workers expanding it. There are basically shops selling specialty products and restaurants, no different from ancient towns in various places. There are several small attractions, such as Wang's Courtyard and the General's Mansion, but it seems that they all require separate tickets.
I checked in for a visit but didn't buy a ticket to go in. If you want to take pictures, you still have to buy a ticket, because the surrounding buildings have blocked the words "No. 1 Pass in the World" solidly. I walked around twice outside and didn't find a spot to take pictures.
I was 18 years old at that time, and I went to Manzhouli for the first time on my way back to school. It happened a few years ago, and I found it today when I browsed my space. I was still moved. The society is beautiful. Amway, Amway. The scenery is beautiful, and the people are beautiful too.
A very rubbish scenic spot. I went there in 2013. The ticket was 50 yuan. You can walk 100 meters after going up the city wall. The rest is fenced off. There is nothing there. There is nothing to see. I don't recommend going there. You can read my travel notes for details. There is a detailed description in it.
The first spontaneous trip in my life was to Qinhuangdao, which has mountains and sea, rich history and fresh nature.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China, the famous population migration in Chinese history - Crossing Guandong, crossed the East Gate of Shanhaiguan. The gate of the world's first pass, Jingbian Tower, is closed and requires a 10-yuan ticket.
As soon as you enter the No. 1 Pass in the World scenic area, you will go up the small slope to the city wall. This is called the Ma Dao (Ma Dao Cheng Gong), because in ancient times horses could be led up to the city wall. Emperor Qianlong and other emperors once walked on this road, so it is also called the Imperial Road.
There are many uncivilized inscriptions on the walls of Shanhaiguan, which is a reflection of the low quality of tourism and the destruction of historical relics in the past.
Although the ancient city wall has been repaired, one can still feel the vicissitudes of life that Shanhaiguan has experienced in the long river of history from every brick, tile, stone and wood.
Looking up at the world's first pass, Shanhaiguan, from the tower, it is magnificent. The city wall is covered with weeds and moss, and the vicissitudes of life are pervasive. Every scar on the bricks and stones is a mark left by history.
There are many people on National Day
Moreover, tickets for each attraction are sold separately, or you can buy a combined ticket at one time
It is a key attraction. It is impressive and has a story.
The specific door-to-door prices during the 11th of 2018 will be opened again after a specific experience
The beautiful scenery of Shanhaiguan, the first pass in the Great Wall!
Shanhaiguan (the first pass in the world) does not have many places to visit, which is much worse than Jiayuguan. If you walk around the ancient city, you may turn around, but you need to buy a separate ticket to enter the ancient city. I think it was late, so I simply walked around the city, climbed the mountain wall, and took a few photos. It took about an hour to finish the tour. There are not many places worth taking pictures here.
From Shanhaiguan to Jiayuguan
From Bohai Bay to Qilian Mountains
It was never that wall that protected the Chinese people.
It is the unchanging persistence and belief for five thousand years.
I just came back from a day trip to Shanhaiguan. Because I took the wrong road, I would like to give you some advice. Go out of the north exit of Shanhaiguan Railway Station, go straight and you can see the city wall, turn left and you can enter the city, which is a 5-10 minute walk. The ancient city is free, and the drum tower and a section of the city wall of the world's first pass require tickets to enter, 40 yuan. Although many people do not recommend it in the guide, I personally think it is okay. After all, it is famous there. It would be a pity not to go in after coming all the way. There is a guide map in the city, which makes it easier to find places. The four steamed buns felt like a deserted street. I didn't see many tourists in the city. It turned out that they were queuing to buy steamed buns, one yuan each. The only dishes were cold dishes, vegetarian dishes were 7 yuan, and meat dishes were 20 yuan. It is recommended to stagger the meal time. Whether it is delicious depends on personal taste. The main thing is that I didn't see other local specialties.
The first pass in the world is also a must-see. As for the Great Wall, you can just buy a 50-yuan ticket.
Those who booked tickets online need to go to the ticket office to exchange for paper tickets! The No. 1 Pass in the World scenic area is generally surrounded by a city wall, with a pedestrian street inside. No tickets are required for the pedestrian street, but tickets are required to go up the city wall to take pictures of the "No. 1 Pass in the World". The pedestrian street has a strong commercial atmosphere, the scenic area is chaotically planned, and the Wang Family Courtyard is also there.
The Shanhaiguan Pass in the story is actually just a not-so-majestic gatehouse and some city walls. You can come and see it when you go to Qinhuangdao, but there is no need to come here specially.
People who come to see the No. 1 Pass in the World crowd at the ticket office. If you don't have a deep historical interest, it is not recommended to enter. We just looked at it from the outside, and every brick and tile looks like the Great Wall.
The historical significance and historical sites are more important than the actual sights that can be visited.
It's a very nice place, and there is a military headquarters inside. But the two characters "Fu" on the city wall don't seem to match the arrow tower.
The No. 1 Pass in the World, the throat of the ancient Northeast, it is nice to walk under the ancient city
There are many volunteers and rescue stations. People are very enthusiastic and helpful. We bought the pass for Laolongtou and Tianxia Diyiguan and the sightseeing bus, which cost 120. But if you don't go to the other towers of Tianxia Diyiguan, there is no need to take the sightseeing bus. The other towers are similar to Tianxia Diyiguan, so you can just visit one. There are many peanut crisps for sale. I tried them and they tasted good. I didn't buy them in the scenic area. When I arrived in the city, I wanted to buy them and they were out of stock, but the locals told me that it's better not to eat them. You can imagine the reason yourself.
It is known as the first pass in the world. We arrived early and there were not many people. Looking from here, there is a section of the Great Wall on the mountain behind.
Shanhaiguan. Literally, it means to separate mountains and seas, and it blocks everything. However, it failed to stop the Eight Banners cavalry in the late Ming Dynasty, and failed to stop the Eight Kingdoms' powerful ships and cannons in the late Qing Dynasty. Locks cannot be locked, and only by self-strengthening can we leave our doors unlocked at night. I really want to say that it is the best in the world, and it is worthy of the name, but there are too many regrets. The powerful will lose their luck and die if they compromise and fight for petty gains. Shanhaiguan Ancient City is indeed worth a visit. There are too many historical relics scattered in the houses, which need to be carefully searched and discovered.
The ticket for the No. 1 Pass in the World is 50 yuan. You don’t need to buy a ticket to enter the city, but you can see the majestic appearance of the No. 1 Pass in the World. However, you cannot go up to the gate tower for a visit without buying a ticket.
The Shanhaiguan Great Wall should be the section of the water Great Wall that directly connects from the urban area to the Bohai Sea.
The Laolongtou Scenic Area was mentioned in the coastal tour of "Home Far Away".
This is mainly a historical scenic spot, the Great Wall on the Sea.
Until today, we have finally crossed from the westernmost end of the Ming Great Wall to the easternmost end.
From Jiayuguan to Shanhaiguan, there are thousands of kilometers of man-made buildings.
The miracles in the world are each the first level in the world, one in the east and one in the west.
There are many people, the scenery on the city wall is still good, and there are performances below to watch
It is magnificent and it is the number one pass in the world. One man can guard the pass against ten thousand.
Before the Hushan Great Wall, this was the eastern starting point of the Great Wall and the first pass in the world. Shanhaiguan defines the inside and outside of the pass, and to the north is the endless Northeast Plain.
Shanhaiguan is worthy of its reputation as the best pass in the world.
Shanhaiguan, also known as Yuguan, Yuguan and Linluguan, is located 15 kilometers northeast of Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. It is one of the northeastern passes of the Ming Great Wall. Before 1990, it was considered to be the eastern starting point of the Ming Great Wall. It is known as one of the "three great wonders" of the Great Wall of China (Shanhaiguan in the east, Zhenbeitai in the middle, and Jiayuguan in the west), "the first pass in the world", "the throat of the border counties, the guarantee of the capital", and echoes Jiayuguan thousands of miles away, and is famous all over the world.
It feels like I went there just to take pictures of those words. It feels a bit heavy.
The ticket for a single attraction is 15, and there are several small attractions that are charged separately. You can choose to purchase according to your personal circumstances.
When I first walked on it, I almost missed the No. 1 Level in the World. Later, when I got to the bottom, the words became very conspicuous.
After visiting the No. 1 Pass in the World, there is a bus stop nearby and you can take bus No. 25 directly to the Laolongtou Scenic Area.
The No. 1 Pass in the World is majestic and has a long history, but its facilities need to be improved.
I heard that several A-level scenic spot licenses were revoked before, and they were restored after rectification in the past few days. It is still good. I bought the first pass for the scenic spot. I can play for a long time and walk on the city wall for a long time. It’s good to visit and feel good. If you go to Qinhuangdao, you must come here to play once.
You can take a free shuttle bus to Laolongtou with a ticket, but it goes directly to the back gate of Shanhaiguan Ancient City, which is the first checkpoint where you need to buy a ticket to enter. If you don't want to buy a ticket and just want to visit the ancient city, don't do it, otherwise you will have to walk a lot to get to the ancient city.
The scenic spot itself is like this. Climb the city wall and take photos up close. Everyone has their own opinions.
Shanhaiguan is one of the northeastern passes of the Ming Great Wall (there are Shanhaiguan in the east, Zhenbeitai in the middle, and Jiayuguan in the west) and the "No. 1 Pass in the World". It is also known as one of the "three wonders" of the Great Wall of China, echoing Jiayuguan thousands of miles away, and is famous all over the world. There are few things in the scenic area, and not many people, so the recommendation index is average. However, it is listed as a world cultural heritage and has unique military and political value. It is also good for those who like it to come and see.
A place worth visiting ~ The Great Wall is known as the first pass in the world
Shanhaiguan, the first pass in the world, is a place where you can learn about the history of its construction and experience the hardships that went into its construction.
We went there in the afternoon. We were very tired after walking around the city wall. We also walked around the blocks inside the city wall. The overall feeling was just average.
The No.1 Pass in the World is a world cultural heritage, a national key cultural relic protection unit, one of the first 5A-level tourist attractions in China, and an advanced unit in the creation of a national civilized scenic tourist area. "To the east of the vast Jieshi, this pass was created by heaven. The king of Zhongshan in Guangdong started the business and development!
The ticket to Tianxia Diyiguan costs 50 yuan, which is four gate towers, and there are various antique buildings selling food, drinks and souvenirs. When you go to Tianxia Diyiguan, you will be approached by black cars and asked to go to Shanhaiguan Great Wall. The Great Wall is halfway up the mountain, and there is a winding mountain road. The black car will tell you that it only costs 5 yuan per person to take you to the gate of the Great Wall, but when you arrive at Lechangcheng, he will keep following you and ask you to take his car back (or go to Laolongtou Scenic Area). You can't get rid of him because there are really no cars halfway up the mountain. The fare to go back is 150 per person. There is no point in bargaining. I hope the relevant departments should take care of this kind of thing! It's really disgusting! The scenery is okay. There is a section of the Great Wall tunnel that goes through the mountain that is worth visiting.
Take my Dai family army to visit the border fortress and appreciate the style of guarding the border in ancient times
The eastern starting point of the Great Wall, I went there on May Day, it was still quite cold, I had to wear good clothes, and it was raining. The ancient monuments had a sad feeling after the rain.
"The First Pass in the World" is the first pass at the eastern starting point of the Great Wall. It is the dividing line between the inner and outer passes and an important barrier to Beijing, the capital of the Ming Dynasty. It is surrounded by mountains and the sea, and is easy to defend but difficult to attack. The Guancheng was built in 1381 AD. It is a scientific, complete and strict military defense system composed of Guancheng, Wengcheng, Luocheng, Yicheng, Shaocheng and numerous beacon towers and piers. Because of its unique construction, it stands out among the many dangerous passes of the Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty and is known as "the key to the two capitals and the first pass of the Great Wall". The ticket is 60 yuan. I personally feel it is still very good and worth a visit.
It is still very spectacular in winter, but it would not be so beautiful in spring or summer.
In Shanhaiguan District, Qinhuangdao, you can take bus No. 33 to get off at Tianxia Diyiguan in the urban area of Qinhuangdao. The ticket price for Qinhuangdao Bus 4, 5, 9, and 10 is 1 yuan for four months, and 2 yuan for the rest of the months. You can also walk there from Shanhaiguan Railway Station. The ticket price for the scenic spot is 40 yuan. The cost performance is not very high. When you go in, you just take a photo of the tower of Tianxia Diyiguan in front of the square, and then go up the city wall for a walk. Moreover, there is only the section from Jingbian Tower to Linge Tower on the city wall that you can visit. It is better not to buy a ticket. Go in from the path above the tourist center, walk along the alley below Xunfeng Hexu to the first intersection and turn right for about 50 meters to see the tower of Tianxia Diyiguan. There is not much difference between taking pictures here and inside. It is just a little farther away, and you can save 40 yuan. You can also get off the bus at the South Gate, go through the city gate hole and go straight along the main road to the bell and drum tower, turn right for about 100 meters, and you can see the tower of Tianxia Diyiguan. On this road, you can also pass by the more famous Si Tiao Baozi, which is a feast for your taste.
A gateway between the south and the north, a dividing line of China's climate types
Since Shanhaiguan was delisted from the 5A rating last year, a series of rectifications and improvements have finally paid off. The problems of chaos and fraud that existed in the past did not appear this time. The scenery of Shanhaiguan is actually very good, especially the view of the sea and the restoration of history, which gives people a very shocking feeling. It is suitable for a 2-hour self-driving tour.
It’s just so-so… I’ll take a look when I come… But the scenic area service is OK…
Magnificent and imposing, it can be seen that the border
There are people who look like locals at the entrance, who are leading people in. They claim that you can enter the scenic area for free. Don't believe them! They just take you to the first level, but you still need to buy tickets. They are pure scammers! Don't believe them! Don't believe them! Don't believe them!
The ticket is 40, just go once, nothing special.
It's very big. It's tiring to walk. The four buns are delicious. Hahaha
The scenery of the Bell and Drum Tower in the package is OK. Check the performance schedule before entering the main scenic area. The performance is quite exciting. The city wall is the same everywhere. The map inside the first level building is spectacular. Go in and take a look. When we left the scenic area and prepared to take a taxi to the railway station, the taxi driver suggested that we take a taxi directly back to Beidaihe and take us to the Haibin Bus Station for 80 yuan. Considering that there are three of us, it is quite cost-effective, so we agreed. The driver said that the general price is about 100. Online tickets can only be entered from the main gate. The line for Si Tiao Baozi is too long, so give up.
It's worth a visit, although most of it has been renovated, it's okay.
A coastal town with a lot of historical heritage. I like history very much, so I have a lot of feelings about Shanhaiguan in the history of Ming Dynasty. It was this city that blocked the Qing army from entering the pass for decades. Even when the Ming Dynasty fell, it did not break through Shanhaiguan from the front. In addition, the historical figures inside and outside Shanhaiguan made Shanhaiguan even more fascinating. Shanhaiguan, Laolongtou, and the connected Great Wall are a complete defense system. The city is not big, and the city is not high, but it is indeed a very good stronghold that can be attacked and defended. Moreover, when guarding Liaodong at that time, the army was not without combat power. In addition, Shanhaiguan-Laolongtou-Great Wall, there was no worry inside the pass. Now Shanhaiguan has a lot more commercial atmosphere. In addition, it is no longer the era of cold weapons. The geographical location of the pass is far less meaningful than the era of cold weapons. Just treat it as a monument in the long river of history.
