Located in the middle section of Yanshan Mountain Range, the main peak, Waitao Peak, is 2,118 meters above sea level. It is the highest peak in Wuling Mountain and the best spot to enjoy the sea of clouds, stars, sunset and sunrise.
As a Feng Shui forbidden area for the royal family of the Qing Dynasty, it was closed for 260 years and maintained a good natural ecosystem.
It spans Xinglong County, Chengde City, Hebei Province, and Miyun County, Beijing City. There are three gates to the scenic area: the main gate is in Xinglong County, and the north gate and west gate are in Miyun County.
It includes four scenic areas: Xianren Tower Scenic Area, Qingliangjie Scenic Area, Longtan Scenic Area and Wulongtou Scenic Area.
The complexity of topography determines the diversity of climate. It is often seen that "peach blossoms are floating at the foot of the mountain and snowflakes are flying on the mountain", making it a great place to appreciate peach blossoms.

External transportation:
Main gate: Take a train or long-distance bus to Xinglong County. The Wuling Mountain Reception Station, 50 meters in front of Xinglong Railway Station, has special buses to the main gate during the peak tourist season; or you can take a taxi to the main gate for about 50 yuan. If you want to save money, you can take the Xinglong No. 2 North Bus to Dongmeisi Village and then take a taxi to the main gate.
North Gate: First take a long-distance bus to Miyun County. In Miyun County, transfer to the long-distance bus to Dongxiaobaiqi, get off at Heiguan Village, Caojia Road, Xinchengzi Township, Miyun County, and walk about 500 meters to the North Gate of Wuling Mountain. However, there are very few long-distance buses to Dongxiaobaiqi. If you can't catch it, you can take Miyun No. 52 bus, get off at Pengyue Mountain Villa Station, and walk about 2.5 kilometers.
West Gate: Take a long-distance bus to Miyun County. From Miyun County, transfer to a long-distance bus to Dajiaoyu and get off at Caojia Road; or take bus No. 38 to Caojia Road East Station, and walk about 7 kilometers to the West Gate of Wuling Mountain. It is not very convenient to get to the West Gate without a car. You can take a taxi to the West Gate after arriving at Caojia Road.
Scenic area minibus:
The minibuses are privately contracted. The specific routes and waiting times at scenic spots are decided by the passengers. There are bus stops at Bell and Drum Courtyard, Xianren Tower, Lotus Pond, Longtan Parking Lot, North Gate, etc. The routes include Bell and Drum Courtyard-Xianren Tower-Lotus Pond, Dingfeng-Lotus Pond-Longtan, North Gate-Longtan-Dingfeng, etc.
The price for the whole trip is about 98 yuan per person. Please note that this price is for reference only and will vary depending on the number of tourists and the specific attractions you visit. The ticket price of 108 yuan is simply a rip-off. I really don't know why such an ordinary mountain costs 108 yuan. To be honest, in terms of mountain climbing experience and scenery, it is far inferior to Xiangshan or Xishan in Beijing. How much is the ticket to Xiangshan? There is only a small section of the hiking trail at the West Gate, which is about a 2-hour journey. The rest is all concrete road. Drivers can drive directly to the top of the mountain from the North Gate or South Gate. After walking the short section of the hiking steps at the West Gate, hikers have to walk along the concrete road, which is boring. I guess the 108 yuan ticket is mostly charged as the maintenance fee for the winding road. This mountain is not suitable for hiking at all. You have to pay 108 yuan for the ticket to walk along the winding road, and there is nothing to see along the way. I guess the only selling point is to see the fog at the top of the mountain. Maybe the scenery is relatively better when there is fog, but it is rare after all. Most of the time there is no fog. When there is no fog, the mountain is not useful. Most people just spend 108 yuan to drive on the winding road. Hikers are even worse off. They just paid to help others walk on the road. After hiking to the top, they realized that they were really bored. The interval bus on the mountain needs to be paid separately. Other scenic spots (such as Zhangjiajie, Jiuzhaigou, etc.) charge admission fees, and the interval buses at various points within the gate of the scenic spot are free. However, the tickets of Wuling Mountain Scenic Spot are not only more expensive than others, but also worse than others. It also charges an additional interval bus fee. It costs 50 yuan to take the interval bus from the top of the mountain to the Golden Eagle Cliff Scenic Spot 12 kilometers away. Forget it, it’s not that the fare is expensive, but that I am too poor. In short, this attraction is only suitable for lazy rich people who drive and have no shortage of money. It is not suitable for people who like hiking. Hikers will regret it if they come, and don’t come if they don’t come. Instead of regretting it after coming, it’s better not to come at all. Of course, those who have a lot of money or like to spend money are another matter.
Wuling Mountain in Xinglong County has very poor service. The staff has no standard of service. On October 1, I went to Wuling Mountain for a tour. When I went to the top, there were cigarette butts everywhere on the top platform. I asked the cleaner, "Is smoking not allowed on the top of the mountain? Why are there cigarette butts everywhere?" The cleaner replied, "Is it your responsibility?" His attitude was particularly bad. Doesn't he know the harm of fire to the forest? I wanted to call the complaint number, but he didn't. It's this cleaner. Is there no one to take care of him?
Starting from Changping, Beijing, it takes 2.5 hours to reach the north gate of Wuling Mountain. The ticket is 108. It is free to drive up the mountain. In addition to poplar trees, there are larch and birch trees on the road. You can stop to take pictures. If you are interested, you can go to the forest for a walk. Longtan Waterfall, turned around. It is not the rainy season, so the water is relatively small. If you look carefully at the small river below the waterfall, you will find many small insects twisting and climbing up. There are too many, which is annoying. I asked the locals and they said they were shrimps. You can take a cable car. I reached the top around 13:00 noon. There were not many people. I went down the mountain towards the main gate and went to the Lower Immortal Tower on the way. The scenery was not bad. It was not the rainy season, so the water was small. You can take pictures on the rocks in the river. The stream water flows all the way down from the rocks. I braked all the way down the mountain and smelled the burnt smell of the brake pads. There was a bell and drum temple when I was about to reach the south gate, which only received pilgrims. From the south gate, I took about an hour on the provincial road to the Beijing-Chengde Expressway. Although the road conditions are generally not as good as those at the north gate, it is not difficult to walk. Wuling Mountain is OK and worth a visit. You probably need to stay overnight to see the sunrise and sunset, but I didn't see them because my child was still young.
It is a place worth visiting, with green mountains and clear waters, and clouds and mist. The scenery is beautiful during the day and the stars are twinkling at night. The night sky in the mountains is really beautiful. Friends who are interested can go and have a look. Sorry, due to the poor pixel of the mobile phone, the beauty of the night sky cannot be photographed. If you get up early in the morning, you can see the sunrise over the sea of clouds. The air is also excellent. For people who are tired of staying in the noisy city, it is a good place to go. And everyone should pay attention to self-driving tours, driving up and down the mountain is not tiring.
Enter from the South Gate Xinglong and exit from the West Gate. Walk the whole way. Many people drive by themselves. It is not very suitable for mountain climbing. The scenery is primitive, but it is not the feeling of Huashan. So the experience is average.
First of all, Wuling Mountain is very big and only suitable for self-driving. If you walk, you will probably break your legs. Because it is not tiring to visit by car, it is suitable for the elderly and children.
The ticket price is 108 per person, and the car is free to enter the mountain. This is a new preferential policy this year.
There are 3 major mountain gates:
Main Gate (Xinglong County)
North Gate (Miyun, Beijing)
West Gate (this gate cannot be reached by car, only suitable for walking)
4 major attractions:
Immortal Tower: (The first attraction you arrive at when you enter from the main gate) There is a gurgling stream flowing down from the mountain. Walking up the stream, you will see a very high rock, which is the Immortal Tower. Walking down the trail, you will reach the parking lot, which is a very low hill.
Wulongtou: Also known as the main peak, it is more than 2,200 meters above sea level. It is really cold and windy on the mountain. At around 10 o'clock in the morning in early June, the temperature on the mountain is only about 16 or 17 degrees, so you must wear a coat. The scenery at the high point is beautiful, and the parking lot is a bit small, so on holidays, you will need to queue up to park halfway up the mountain and go up to the viewing platform to see the scenery. It takes at most 20 minutes to go back and forth.
Longtan Waterfall: Go down from the main peak and return to the Lotus Pond Service Area. Take another road to reach the waterfall. It takes about 20 minutes to drive from the main peak to Longtan. You can choose to take the cable car to the bottom of the valley. It costs 50 for a one-way trip and 80 for a round trip. We took the trail to the bottom of the valley, which took about 20-30 minutes. After the tour, take the cable car up. It is best to prepare some cash. There is no signal in the mountains, and all the treasures don’t work. There is a small waterfall at the bottom of the valley, which is very suitable for playing in the water. It is cool but not cold, and very comfortable.
Qingliang Boundary Monument: It is not recommended to go there if you enter from the main gate. If you enter from the north gate, you will pass by it on the way to Longtan Waterfall and you can take a look at it. If you choose to enter from the main gate and exit from the north gate, you can also take a look at it on the way. In short, it is an extremely large stone.
We entered the scenic area at 9 o'clock and came out at about 4:30 in the afternoon. Of course, we drove some unnecessary roads and took a short rest in the car, which also delayed some time. It took 5 or 6 hours to play in total. It is best to bring your own lunch and fruit. There are no restaurants in the mountains, only instant noodles, grilled sausages, corn and other foods.
Wuling Mountain Forest Park is actually a park in Hebei Province, because the main peak of Wuling Mountain belongs to Hebei Province. Part of Wuling Mountain is in Miyun District, Beijing, where there is a Yaoqiaoyu Reservoir, which belongs to Beijing. In terms of scenery, it is also pretty good.
Except for the tired driving, there was nothing wrong with it. I successfully checked in during the Milky Way season this year. Although I was troubled by fog in the middle, it finally dissipated... I got up early to watch the sunrise and the sea of clouds, which was beautiful... I went again a week later and walked more places. It was not the rainy season yet, so there was nothing to see in the waterfall... I took pictures of the starry sky at the top of the mountain, and the light in the toilet was too annoying...
Three-day tour of Wuling Mountain in Xinglong, Chengde, with green waters, green mountains and twinkling stars!

After lunch, go up the South Gate and first visit the Xianren Pagoda Eighteen Ponds Scenic Area. In the evening, go to the main peak to photograph the sunset and stay in the scenic area at night. The average consumption per person is about 150 yuan. On the second day, go to the main peak to watch the sunrise and photograph the sea of clouds. In the morning, visit the Longtan Waterfall Scenic Area. In the afternoon, visit the Qingliangjie Scenic Area.

If you go out of the South Gate, you can stay at Shanwai Farmhouse at night for about 120 yuan per person. On the third day, you can visit Xinglong Cave (buy tickets separately) and return after lunch.
Attention everyone! The ticket price and daily opening hours of Wuling Mountain have been adjusted.

Ticket price adjustment for Wuling Mountain Scenic Area:
1. The entrance fee to the scenic spot is reduced from 120 yuan to 108 yuan
2. The original entrance fee for vehicles entering the scenic area was 60 yuan per vehicle, but now it is free of charge
3. The scenic area gate is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. If you want to watch the sunrise and sunset, you have to stay in a hotel in the scenic area.
Recommended: Waterside Holiday Inn or Fuling Hotel
The temperature on the mountain is low, so be sure to bring long clothes and long pants!
It's a great place to hang out with friends on weekends. Even though the picture below is already autumn, it's still beautiful.
Wuling Mountain has three entrance gates: the main gate, the north gate, and the west gate. Not far along the mountain road at the entrance of Naxi Tribe, you will see the first mountain gate of Wuling Mountain Scenic Area. The autumn rain is colorful. In October, Wuling Mountain has laid a colorful tapestry from top to bottom. The intoxicating autumn colors increase layer by layer from top to bottom, becoming more and more intense day by day. The colorful colors are fascinating and quietly announce to the world: Autumn is coming! When you drive into the mountain gate, you will be stunned by the scenery in front of you. The strong autumn colors are so unrestrained. The colorful autumn is a fairyland on earth. Xiaoyao Gongzi was fascinated by the colorful colors, as if he was brought into a fairy tale world, intoxicated and didn't know the way home. After entering the west gate, your eyes are soon not enough. The autumn colors all over the mountains and fields are colorful and intoxicating. It is as beautiful as a painting, and the forests are dyed. The mountain is still green at the foot, but the birch and larch trees on the mountain have turned golden yellow. The poplars, maples, and oaks on the mountainside are turning yellow and red layer by layer.
In early autumn, the sky is high and the clouds are light, the forest is clear and bright, and the endless green is dotted with golden yellow. It seems chaotic, but it ripples infinitely layer by layer. The golden yellow is tinged with green, and the green is tinged with yellow. This is the perfect coloring.
Walking along the stream, on the stone path in the woods, and looking at the beautiful scenery on both sides, it is really refreshing!
The mountain ranked among the highest in Beijing in terms of altitude has not only various trees that can only be seen in deep mountains and old forests, but also some strange peaks and rocks. There are many streams and waterfalls along the way, which also add spirituality to the mountain. It is suitable for summer vacation. It was quite cold when I came here after the National Day.
There are three entrances to Wuling Mountain, and different entrances have different ways of playing. We entered from the west gate and first climbed along the road to Longtan Waterfall. The scenery along the way is very beautiful. After arriving at Longtan Waterfall, you can continue to climb to the parking lot or take a cable car to the parking lot. The cable car fee is 50 yuan per person for a one-way trip. After arriving at the parking lot, you need to take the scenic area's minibus (120 yuan per person, no half-price ticket) to reach the top of the mountain. If you are not a super-strong person, don't even think about walking up. It is indeed a bit far, and the road is very narrow. There is no special walking road. It is all car lanes, and walking is not safe. The scenery along the way is also good, especially the plant stratification is quite obvious, but the conditions of the minibus are average, and it is not convenient to take pictures in the car. After arriving at the top of the mountain, the minibus will come to the north gate to enjoy the scenery along the way. The driver of the scenic spot will stop for taking pictures. Then send it to the west gate and pick up your own car.
Shibatan Forest Park, with its gurgling water and shady green trees, is a place where walking in nature makes one feel relaxed and happy.
Wuling Mountain is really big. You have to drive up. The car can drive directly to the top of the mountain. Don't walk for fun. Don't do that. You will be exhausted. Then there are three gates in Wuling Mountain. The first one is the South Gate, also called the main gate, and there are the West Gate and the North Gate. First of all, friends who go to the South Gate must pay attention to the navigation. If the navigation takes you to a place where you think this is a road for people to walk, then please believe that the navigation is wrong. Don't ask me why I know it. Do you know the feeling of wanting to hit someone? The roads of these three gates are all very easy to walk. Don't ask me why I know the situation of the three roads. The South Gate goes from the direction of Xinglong, and the West Gate and the North Gate enter from the direction of Miyun. I personally think that it is a good route to enter from the South Gate and exit from the North Gate, and then go to Gubei Water Town. Then I don't recommend that you go through the West Gate. To enter the scenic spot from the West Gate, you have to walk to the Longtan parking lot. The distance is quite long. The point is that if you don't spend money to take the scenic spot minibus, you may have to return the same way. There is nothing else about this line except the waterfall. You can drive to the Longtan parking lot and go down to the first waterfall to take a look. Going forward is not as spectacular as the first one. The following is the most spectacular waterfall in my opinion. The following is the waterfall that I think is okay. As for the West Gate, if you drive here and arrive at the Longtan parking lot, it will take about four hours to get to the main peak without spending 48 yuan for a round trip. The road along the way is flat and you can drive. If you want to see the attractions at the North Gate after you come back, you will have to spend another 60 yuan. By the way, parking at the West Gate will cost another 30 yuan. I personally think it is not worth it. Before you go, you should go to the official website of Wuling Mountain to find the phone number and ask about the road conditions in the scenic area and whether the scenic area is open. If it has just rained heavily, there may be fallen rocks blocking the road. According to the staff, you can watch the sunrise.
The water of Wuling Mountain is mainly concentrated in the Xianren Pagoda Scenic Area near the South Gate. There are many waterfalls and pools. Unfortunately, I was too rushed this time and could not go there. I can only leave the thought and wait for the next time. However, in Longtan Scenic Area, I walked down the mountain to the bottom of the valley and saw the Longtan Waterfall, which is not large in scale. The water volume is slightly small. It is estimated that it will be more spectacular in the rainy season. You can walk or take the cable car down to the bottom of the valley from the Longtan parking area. The one-way distance is about one kilometer. If you are in good physical condition, it is recommended to walk down and take the cable car back. There will be many surprises when walking in the forest. The stream in the mountain is clear, accompanied by the sound of birds and water, breathing oxygen-rich air in the mountains and forests, occasionally a gray squirrel, and an unknown bird with orange-red feathers and a melodious voice.
You may not be able to finish walking in Wuling Mountain in one day. 3. The top is very cold, so you must bring thick clothes. There are coats for rent at the top, but they are expensive and not very clean. There are many roads, so please pay attention to the signs along the way, because part of Wuling Mountain is virgin forest with many ferocious animals, so you still have to be careful.
Some people say that autumn here is like an overturned dye vat in the heavenly palace. This description is really wonderful. Yes, I think this is the most beautiful place around Beijing.
Self-driving route:
North Gate Mountain
Take the Simatai exit of the Beijing-Chengde Expressway on the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Ring Roads, turn onto Songcao Road and pass Machang and Xinchengzi to Caojia Road. Follow the signs to the left in the east of Caojia Road Village to the North Gate.
South Gate Mountain
Take the Dachengzi exit of the Beijing-Chengde Expressway on the Fourth, Fifth, or Sixth Ring Roads, head to Xinglong County, pass the Xinglong County Railway Station and head toward Wuling Mountain to the South Gate.
You don't need to climb to get from the bottom of Wuling Mountain to the top. You can drive all the way to the top. The cement road is easy to drive on and there are many viewing platforms along the way. It's best not to stop on the way. You need to put on more clothes when you reach the top of the mountain as the temperature is much lower than at the bottom of the mountain.
From the end of September to the beginning of October, the mountain is covered with green, the birch and larch trees on the mountain have turned golden, and the poplars, maples and oaks on the mountainside have turned yellow, red and purple layer by layer. Looking around, red leaves and clusters of fruits are embedded between the layers of peaks, like red sails floating on the blue waves, or like clouds floating in the blue sky.
When you reach the halfway point of the mountain, there is a small viewing platform where you can go up and take a look. Passing by here, you can see these stones - Bai Shi Yuan. Perhaps knowing this place and being able to come here is a kind of fate.
The view from the top of the mountain is particularly good. There is no haze due to the high altitude. Because it is a key protection area, there are almost no shops. Watch your time to solve the problem of eating, and remember not to use anything related to fire.
It would be quite tiring to travel back and forth between downtown Beijing and Wuling Mountain in one day. It is recommended to stay at the foot of the mountain for one night. Regarding accommodation in Wuling Mountain, the facilities around the scenic area are relatively complete, with many villages. There are many farmhouses to choose from at the foot of the mountain, as well as various mountain villas. You can search on the Internet by yourself.
These farmhouses and mountain villas will have restaurants, with wild vegetables and stews. It is quite nice to play in the mountains for a day, eat some game in a farmhouse at night, stay overnight, and watch the sunrise the next day.
I went there for two days. I watched the sunset in the evening of the first day. The red clouds were so beautiful! I stayed at Dingfeng Hotel at night. I watched the sunrise early in the morning of the second day, and then took the cable car down the mountain to the west line. The conditions of Dingfeng Hotel are very average, but it is indeed a good place to watch the sunset and sunrise.
This is my first time to go there this year, and it is more beautiful than I imagined! Flowing water, sea of clouds, and sea of flowers on the mountains are all great subjects for photography!
I went there in August 2016. The scenery was beautiful. There was a lot of fog on the top of the mountain. It was really beautiful. I stayed in the hotel on the top of the mountain for one night. The food was delicious, but there were a lot of bugs in the hotel. It was very cool in Wuling Mountain. I took the cable car. I had to pay attention to safety when driving up the mountain because the mountain road was too narrow and it was a bit dangerous for oncoming cars. My husband didn't let me drive, he drove the whole time. Female drivers really shouldn't try it, life is the first priority. It is recommended to bring thick clothes, because it is really cold to wear cotton clothes at the bottom of the mountain, and the temperature difference is very large. It is worth a visit.
After breakfast on Sunday, we set out for Wuling Mountain. At first, we followed the navigation to the west gate. The ticket price was 120 yuan per person, children were free, and the parking fee was 30 yuan per day.
Wuling Mountain has four scenic areas: Qingliangjie Scenic Area, Wulongtou Scenic Area, Longtan Scenic Area, and Xianren Tower Scenic Area. We entered from the north gate and walked along the road to Qingliangjie Scenic Area. We passed by Longtan Parking Lot but did not enter Longtan Scenic Area. Going up the main peak is Wulongtou Scenic Area, which is a short walk away. We walked out of the park and walked through the tree and stone wonders of Wulongtou Scenic Area.
Wuling Mountain is a self-driving tourist area, and you can drive all the way to the top of the mountain. The road is quite steep, with many hairpin bends, but fortunately the scenery along the way is very beautiful, lush green, and you can breathe in oxygen as much as you can.
Here I want to remind you that Wuling Mountain is very large. I heard that someone drove an electric car and called for help because the battery was insufficient. I don't know about other mountain gates, but the nearest gas station near the north gate is in Xinchengzi, 19km away. So be sure to pay attention to the gas level of your car before going up the mountain.
The beautiful natural scenery, with many streams and pools and lush trees, is worth a visit.
Fengwaitao Peak is 2,118 meters above sea level and is the highest peak in Wuling Mountain. Wuling Mountain spans Xinglong County in Chengde, Hebei Province and Miyun County in Beijing. It was once a forbidden area for the royal feng shui of the Qing Dynasty and was banned for 260 years. Therefore, it still maintains a good natural ecosystem. The vegetation is rich, the air is fresh, small animals can often be seen, and the water resources are particularly abundant. It is a holy place for self-driving tourism.
I have been to Wuling Mountain twice, once around 2000 and once in September 2012, which was the golden autumn season.
The first time I went there, I drove two off-road vehicles all the way to the parking lot of the highest peak in a dusty manner. I took a photo in front of the stone monument at the highest peak and then went down the mountain. I don’t have much impression of it (even the group photo was in black and white);
The second time I went there was to participate in a team activity. I stayed overnight in a scenic inn almost at the top of the mountain. There was also a summary meeting and dinner, etc. The accommodation and dining conditions were the same as those of a farmhouse. The company paid the fee, so I didn't care. However, there was a short distance from the meeting accommodation in the scenic area, which was already at a high altitude, to the parking lot on the top of the mountain. It was a bit far and tiring to walk. The rented bus was large, and the driver was unwilling to drive.
I remember that the staff of the organizing committee of the unit negotiated with the local people in the scenic area, and used walkie-talkies to constantly dispatch Jinbei cars, small vans and other various means of transportation from the foot of the mountain to transport people up one by one. The scene was quite chaotic at the time, and everyone was eager to squeeze into the car for fear of delaying the time to take pictures of the sunset.
I went there in the evening and caught the sunset. Standing on the top of Wuling Mountain and overlooking the distant mountains, I felt relaxed and happy, with a broad vision. It felt great! !
We didn't take any more cars when we went down the mountain. We just walked back to the inn from the top of the mountain.
After getting up the next day and having breakfast, the team hiked through the valley streams of the Longtan Scenic Area in Wuling Mountain, a natural oxygen bar with fresh air. We didn't feel too tired even after walking and taking photos.
As for what the scenery looks like, I don’t need to describe it. You can see it by looking at the photos I took.
Wuling Mountain is located in Xinglong County, Chengde City, northern Hebei Province, 140 kilometers from Beijing, 180 kilometers from Tianjin, 148 kilometers from Tangshan, and 135 kilometers from Chengde. It is the middle section of the Yanshan Mountains, and its main peak, Waitao Peak, is located in the center of the core area, known as the "Head of Jingdong". I visited this place in October 2010 and was impressed by the beautiful mountain scenery.
Wuling Mountain is so big! It's impossible to walk around here in a short time! So we only chose Longtan Scenic Area, cable car up and cable car down! (80 yuan for a round trip) The ticket price is definitely not cheap, the scenery is OK, but it's a little expensive! Of course, you can also choose to climb down here, you can enjoy the scenery along the way, exercise your body, and save money. It's definitely a win-win situation... The only thing is that it's a bit tiring!
This is our second time at Wuling Mountain. We still choose to walk up the mountain from the west gate. The scenery at the west gate is the most beautiful, with mountains, water and waterfalls. We walked and played for about an hour and a half to the cable car entrance.
The entire Wuling Mountain has been shrouded in mist. The sun only showed a smile in the afternoon, but it was only fleeting. This is a "tree and stone wonder", with huge rocks like knives everywhere, and pines and cypresses growing from the cracks of the rocks. The stream in the Xianren Tower scenic area is gurgling. Due to the high vegetation area, there are many springs in the mountain stream. The road below leads to the Eighteen Ponds. The path leading to the Xianren Tower is a bit slippery. The Xianren Tower is 48 meters high and has a unique shape. Seeing it, you have to sigh at the magic of nature.
It is still worth going. The key is that you can drive to the top of the mountain and the children will not be tired. It is far from Beijing and you have to stay overnight. It is better to book accommodation in advance.
The next day, I went up Wuling Mountain. I bought a combined ticket for Wuling Mountain and the cave for 160 yuan, and the car fare to enter the mountain was 60 yuan. It was easy to go up the mountain but difficult to go down. The speed limit was 40 miles per hour when going up the mountain and 30 miles per hour when going down the mountain. It was a safe journey. The tourist bus in the scenic area drove very fast and almost hit me. Everything else was fine. The price of food on the top of the mountain was a little expensive. I brought a lot of food and snacks to survive when I came.
What a pleasant surprise! The sunset and sea of clouds at Wuling Mountain are so beautiful.
We went there on my birthday. My dad wanted to climb a mountain, so we chose a place with mountains and practiced our driving skills on the highway.
It is about 160 kilometers away from Beijing city. After passing the parking lot indicated on Gaode Map, you can continue driving up the mountain. There is also a parking lot in front of the real scenic spot gate (ticket office), but this short section of the road is also relatively narrow, and it is still a headache for a new driver like me to encounter oncoming cars.
The ticket price is 120 yuan per person, and there is no student ticket. I personally feel that the ticket price is a bit high. Compared with the "Beijing Xishan National Forest Park" which also has forest scenery, the ticket price is much higher. But it is true that the scenic area is quite large. If you want to walk purely on foot, it will take at least 8 hours to go up and down the mountain.
The general route is that after entering the gate, walk about 3 kilometers to Longtan Waterfall. Then choose to take the cable car (8 minutes, the cost is 20 yuan) or walk (half an hour) to the boarding point, and then take a bus (round trip cost 50+) to visit the scenic spots. If you have good physical strength or plenty of time, you can also choose to walk all the way to the top of the mountain. Many people, including ourselves, only walked to Longtan Waterfall and then walked back, walking and stopping for about 3 hours.
The mountain road is easy to walk on, the steps and slopes are not very steep, and it was cloudy that day, so the weather was relatively cool. You can choose to bring a thin long-sleeved shirt or directly wear a sunscreen instead. In addition to keeping warm, it can also block mosquitoes. I feel that there are more mosquitoes here than in other mountains. There were small insects flying around my head all the way...
The public facilities are really poor. There are few toilets on the way to Longtan Lake, and the conditions are poor. There is no place to wash hands. But many forest parks are like this, which reminds me of military training. Haha, you have to pull the curtain to go to the toilet.
We didn't eat at the nearby restaurants, but only bought some almonds and hawthorns sold by the villagers outside the scenic area. On the way back, we saw many people staying nearby. Maybe the accommodation conditions are good, and if the weather is good the next day, we can watch the sunrise in the mountains.
Depart from Tianjin, first go to Gubei Water Town, then to Wuling Mountain, and then return to Tianjin.
1. Drive from the North Gate, and you can only walk to the West Gate. Go to the main peak first, and then exit from the South Gate.
2. The car is 60 yuan to enter the mountain, free for the disabled, half price for the elderly, full price is 120 yuan, and the round trip cable car to the waterfall is 80 yuan. No one has a discount, it is not worth it because the waterfall is small. There is no discount on any website.
3. Go up and down the mountain in 2nd gear and bring plenty of water
4. A tunnel has been built on the Xinglong section back to Tianjin, making it very easy to travel and free of charge. There are too many cars in the mountainous section of Jixian County.
In mid-spring, a pear tree blooms. Although there is still snow on Wuling Mountain, the foot of the mountain is full of spring and the pear blossoms are in full bloom, which is extremely enchanting.
Located in Miyun, it is far from downtown Beijing. If you drive on the highway, it takes about two hours. Many villagers in the village at the foot of Wuling Mountain run homestays that can provide overnight accommodation. The price is not expensive, about 100+ per room. You can take a shower. If you make a reservation, you can go to a certain 8 or a certain episode to check and book first. The advantage is that if you get lost on the rural road, you can still call the boss to ask for directions. It is very convenient. The ticket to Wuling Mountain is 90 yuan/person. You can drive up. The entrance fee for the car seems to be 200 yuan. I don’t remember it clearly. The car can drive to the parking lot of the main peak, which is nothing more than a good choice for friends who have no outdoor experience. Remember to bring your own food, which is very important. There are only hot water instant noodles on the top of the mountain. The scenery is naturally good, and you can enjoy the atmosphere of the mountains and forests along the way. Even in the hot summer, the mountains and forests are very cool. Be careful when driving. Some places on the mountain road are narrow. It is very dangerous to force overtaking. If you don’t dare to drive, just pull over slowly to let the car behind pass. After all, everyone is not Fujiwara Takumi.
The entire Wuling Mountain Scenic Area is quite large, but you can drive all the way inside. Although there is an additional 60 yuan charge for entering by car, it is very worthwhile. You can drive by yourself and stop at any viewing point to enjoy the view. It is very pleasant. The peak is more than 2,210 meters high, making it the second highest mountain around Beijing. You can also drive there, and after going up, you can climb a short flight of stairs to reach the real peak. Needless to say, the scenery at the top is very windy, and the temperature is very low, about 15 degrees lower than indoors in Beijing, so you must keep warm. There is also a small hotel on the top of the mountain. I didn't ask the price, but it provides convenience for friends who want to watch the sunrise and sunset. Next time I have the opportunity, I must go to see the sunrise and sunset. If there is a sea of clouds, that is the most beautiful scenery of Wuling Mountain.
The scenery is beautiful! After climbing the five highest mountains in Beijing, Wuling Mountain seems to me to be the most spiritual, because of the gurgling streams and the misty clouds. It is rare to have such a beautiful place in Beijing, and it is worthy of being the former forbidden land of the Qing Dynasty!
The scenery here is probably the most beautiful in late September and early October, when the forests are painted in all colors and everything you see is beautiful. You won't feel bored even if you walk on the main road in the mountains. If you come here in other seasons, except for the sightseeing trail below the mountainside, the main road from the mountainside to the top of the mountain will feel boring. It is recommended to drive or take a taxi through this section.
Although the scenery is beautiful, I personally feel that the management of the scenic area is not standardized, and the phenomenon of random charging of scenic area buses is very serious (compared with the bus management of Sichuan Emeishan Scenic Area, I think there is still room for improvement in Wuling Mountain). If you are not traveling by car, it may be inconvenient to take a car on the way to the mountain.
The entrance fee to the scenic spot is 120 yuan per person. If you drive in, the car will be charged an additional 60 yuan. If you take a taxi on the road, it will be about 50 yuan per person, and chartering a car will be more expensive.
There is a hotel at the top of the scenic area for accommodation. The room must be reserved by phone in advance. A prepayment of 201 yuan is required, and a standard room or a double room costs 320 yuan. In addition, you can set up a tent and camp in the parking lot on the top of the mountain, and there is a public toilet in the southwest corner, which is very convenient.
For meals, the Dingfeng Hotel has a restaurant. The menu for the main meal is not very expensive, but it is not cheap either, after all, it is on the top of the mountain. Breakfast is relatively cheap, 10 yuan per person.
A must-see attraction for a trip around Beijing. Apart from the poor public services and the high ticket prices, the scenery is definitely worth it.
Here are some suggestions for you:
1. 【Hotel】
If you want to take photos, stay at Dingfeng Hotel. The conditions are not good, but the best for taking photos.
Price: Depends on the situation, ranging from 260-360, discounts for staying one more night
Reservation: You can go anytime during off-season, but you must book in advance during peak season
(I stayed for two nights, both for 260, and it was also the off-season before the military parade holiday)
2. [Route]
If you are departing from Beijing, go through the North Gate
Advantages: good roads, short travel time, less traffic
South Gate: The gate is under renovation and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. It is very troublesome to travel between villages and towns and the county town.
3. Diet
You can eat basically anything, the steamed buns at Dingfeng are the best, haha
You need to bring lunch with you at noon, otherwise it will be inconvenient and you will be super hungry even if you swim easily.
4. Driving
Be careful when driving in the mountains. The route from the north gate to the top of the mountain is currently being renovated and widened, but the south gate has not yet started construction.
There are many blind turns, you can't see oncoming cars, and many cars are driving very fast, so it's best to honk in advance
5. Weather
The temperature difference between morning and evening is about 20 degrees, and the sunset and sunrise are visible [Guide]
6. Dressing
Wear at night in late August: fleece + down jacket + jacket, long johns + jacket [not hot at all, I personally hate the cold]
If it's earlier, it will be less, if it's later, it will be more [all nonsense]
In short, it's just one word, cold.
The temperature difference between morning and evening is huge, please keep warm. Even the enthusiasm of the photographers cannot withstand the cold wind for several hours.
7. [Itinerary]
It can be two days or three days, depending on your own time, shooting schedule, etc.
Normal play:
Day 1. Drive to the scenic area, start from the South Gate, play from the South Gate to the top of the mountain, watch the sunset, have dinner, take pictures of the night view, and stay on the mountain
Day 2. Watch the sunrise, go to the first waterfall in Jingdong, then go to the north gate, go down the mountain to see the scenery, and go home
If you want to travel by photography, my own itinerary is more suitable, haha, read on.
Wuling Mountain is very large. If you drive yourself, you can drive around the mountain in one day, but you won’t have the fun of hiking. Wuling Mountain is still very high, especially the top of the mountain. The temperature is lower in the morning and evening, and Wuling Mountain is closed in winter. Therefore, it is also important to choose a suitable travel season.
Enter from the west gate in Miyun County and you can directly reach Longtan Scenic Area. It is the deepest canyon in Yanshan Mountain, with a total length of 10 kilometers. The most famous is the first waterfall in Jingdong - Longtan Waterfall, with a drop of 56 meters and a maximum depth of 10 meters. Along the way, you will pass by Jiangjun Peak, Shenxianzuo, Guanyin Songzi Cliff, Xiaohukou Waterfall, and strange trees. Ticket price: 120 yuan.
Seniors aged 60-70 years old (with ID card or senior citizen card) can enjoy half-price discount.
Children under 1.2 meters, seniors over 70 years old (with ID card or senior citizen card), and disabled revolutionary soldiers (with disabled revolutionary soldier card) are free of charge. If you drive into Wuling Mountain, the fare is 60 yuan for a small car, 85 yuan for a Jinbei model, and 100 yuan for a car with more than 19 seats.
You can also drive into the main peak of Wuling Mountain from the north gate and the south gate. If you want to visit all four scenic spots, it will take two days.
There are winding roads connecting the scenic spots, with the Lotus Pond Service Area in the middle. The four scenic spots can be reached by car, but the West Gate is not connected to other scenic spots by road, so it is not possible to drive to the West Gate in the scenic area. If you enter from the West Gate and want to go to other scenic spots, you can take a tour bus in the scenic area after hiking to Longtan Waterfall, which costs 30 yuan per person.
I walked and took photos. The air in the mountains was very humid and filled with the fresh scent of trees.
This is the autumn of Wuling Mountain. The autumn of larch makes the autumn more delicate. The delicate needles under the sun make the light and layers very beautiful, just like the feeling of oil painting. The autumn of Wuling Mountain is no longer the "sea of clouds", but the thick fallen leaves.
Here is a reminder for everyone: Wuling Mountain will only open in mid-to-late April. There are few tourists before the May Day holiday. The supporting facilities on Wuling Mountain, such as cable cars, shops, restaurants, and car rentals, are not fully operational. Basically, there is no food, no drinks, no people, no cars, and no cable cars. You have to rely on bus No. 11. In addition, the weather in the mountains at the end of April is still chilly, and it is very cold at night. The snow on Wuling Mountain is still frozen.
We arrived at the foot of the mountain at around 8 o'clock and bought tickets to enter the mountain. I remember that the ticket was 100 yuan, and we used our student ID. It was very windy at the foot of the mountain. Looking around, there were only two of us. It was really quiet, but still a little scary. The sound of the wind echoed in the mountains, and there was the sound of gurgling water under the ice. The higher we went, the less signal our cell phones had. Except for one or two staff members we occasionally met, there were only the two of us on the whole mountain! ! ! ! It was not a mood, but a faint fear. . .
The beauty of autumn in Wuling Mountain lies in the yellow color of the larch trees. The colorful and delicate color makes people feel dreamy.
The sunrise, sunset, sea of clouds and everything else were so nice. Haha… It was an unforgettable trip. Bring all the necessary clothes when you go there, it’s cold on the top of the mountain! Haha…
Entering Wuling Mountain from the west gate, the scenery is really great. Walking along the way, you can hear the gurgling streams flowing down, which is pleasant to the ears. On both sides are century-old giant pines and cypresses, which block out the sun and stand proudly. The stone steps are newly repaired, and the occasional bridge or suspended stairs bring a touch of dynamic beauty to this quiet valley.
It was still snowy here on May Day, and the frozen waterfall was quite spectacular! But you need physical strength to see the beautiful scenery!
I like Wuling Mountain, but my Sony Ericsson phone also likes it there, so it stayed.
It is a place worth visiting. It is recommended to drive into the mountain from the north gate and then go to the main peak. The scenery along the way will constantly surprise you. It is best to go in autumn to see the colorful scenery.
I went there in the summer, the air was very good, and I climbed the mountains. There were streams flowing through the mountains, which brought a touch of coolness to the hiking trip.
No wonder it is Wuling Mountain, there is so much fog! (It is really amazing to wear sandals when climbing a mountain, haha) The raincoat I bought at the ticket office is quite thin. It is 1,000 meters further from the ticket office to the ticket gate. Those who don’t want to go up the mountain can take a walk. It is free to buy tickets because it is still raining. The ticket staff said that if you still go even though it is raining, the tickets will not be refunded if it rains heavily! We hesitated for a while, and since we are here, let’s go! No matter what, the place where I took pictures is a small waterfall, and there is another big waterfall further up!
The wooden bridge is quite interesting. There is a short section that looks like this, and it feels a bit dangerous, but it’s not made of real wood!
Then the rain stopped and the sun came out! Hahahaha,
We didn't reach the top of the mountain, which was a bit disappointing, because we had to take a cable car to go up from the waterfall. We wanted to climb up by ourselves, but the place where we climbed was under construction and no one was going up. Someone who was going down told us not to go up, because there was nothing on the top except the parking lot. We returned the same way, and then... there was nothing else... Wuling Mountain was very boring! We didn't enjoy the climb! Wuling Mountain is not in Beijing, we have already reached Chengde. If we didn't go to Gubei Water Town, there is really no need to go to this mountain!
