Harbin Institute of Technology—the most prestigious university in Northeast China. Whenever I visit a city, I love taking my kids to the local university to experience the campus atmosphere. The university's Soviet-style main building is quite distinctive, with a touch of classical Russian architecture, creating a sense of grandeur, dignity, and sacredness. Unfortunately, the library was under renovation, so I wasn't able to visit.

By Cang Hai You Di |

I did some searching online and found an article that ranked it 13th in the country. I'm not sure if it's authoritative, but I think it's worth taking my kids to see.

It's also very nice to walk around the campus and feel the cultural atmosphere.

In a campus full of straight men in science and engineering, there seems to be no place for them to be petty bourgeoisie or graceful. It is simple, direct and capable. The deepest impression it gives me is that you come here to study and do research, and nothing else matters. It has the directness of a Northeastern man.

By Zhang Chao |

The campus is huge, with lots of buildings, and the university boasts a high level of research. However, the campus itself doesn't feel technologically advanced or modern enough. I'm not very cultured, haha. Xiamen University gives me a really great impression.

By Akatsuki |

You can enter by swiping your ID card, and there are cultural and creative stores inside where you can shop.

By Travel expert Meng Nan |

The campus is quite unique, with some ice and snow activities in winter, which is especially worth visiting in winter.

I happened to pass by when I was visiting the Railway Museum and just looked at it from a distance.

Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) is a member of China's C9 Alliance and one of the seven national defense universities. It has overseen research projects related to satellites, missiles, rockets, and spacecraft, earning it the nickname "a military academy without uniforms." Japan reportedly designated it a military academy and banned the export of some precision instruments to HIT.

By Go your own way |

The campus is open. There are three campuses in Harbin. The main campus is opposite the Jiaohua Square on Xidazhi Street. There are three branch campuses in Harbin, Weihai and Shenzhen. It is a first-class engineering college with both 211 and 985 halo, and the pride of Harbin.

The university ranked very high in the country is worth visiting

China's MIT - Harbin Institute of Technology, although located in a cold place, still cannot resist its majesty. It is a blessing for every student to be able to study in this university. It's a pity that Harbin Institute of Technology does not have the major I want to study, otherwise I would definitely go there.

By Li Zijiayi |

I originally thought that Harbin Institute of Technology and Northeastern University were similar, so I was just going there for a stroll, but I didn’t expect this stop to become a little surprise in Harbin!

I only found out after coming here that Harbin Institute of Technology holds an ice sculpture competition every year. It’s amazing!

By Mr. Fu is a coffee cat |

I'm not quite sure about the layout of Harbin Institute of Technology. I thought the entire campus was behind this sign, but... there's a roundabout in the middle, with a wide, N-lane road running through it... Why would you have to cross such a dangerous road on campus?! Black question mark face! Even the drainage wells here are graffitied, which is kind of cute~

A school with a strong learning atmosphere

Teaching building cleared at 23:00

Then you can see Mr. Lou kicking the students out😂

By Don't lose your way |

This was my dream school. Most students in my major dreamed of applying to Harbin Institute of Technology for graduate studies. Sadly, I didn't go, but I'm grateful for the opportunity to visit this school! The campus architecture is unique and beautiful! It's a dream come true for me!

Harbin Institute of Technology, founded in 1920, is a prestigious C9 university in China. It offers 19 colleges and 86 undergraduate programs across a wide range of disciplines, including science, engineering, management, literature, economics, law, and the arts.

By Jay |

The campus is open, and the middle avenue is a road tunnel that divides the school into two halves. This is just one of the campuses.

By Feifeiran0220 |

Harbin Institute of Technology is the most famous university in Northeast China. It is worth a visit. The campus was built a long time ago. Some teaching buildings are old and the main campus is not very large.

By Tong Ran |

The universities in the north are a bit dilapidated, which may be suitable for focusing on research and teaching.

By John_Taylor |

Its predecessor was the Harbin Sino-Russian Industrial School, founded in 1920. Although it is still among the Nine Schools League of China, it has long lost the glory of the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

By King of Amy |

Located in the heart of the city, Harbin Institute of Technology seems a bit cramped compared to other renowned Chinese universities, with less distinctive architecture. The parking lot is right in front of the main building, making it difficult to take good photos. The tree-lined avenue is a relatively pleasant spot, though it can be quite crowded.

By Spread your wings |

A 985/211 university, it's also the best university in Heilongjiang. It was once ranked in the top ten nationally for science and engineering, making it a highly sought-after institution. I was fortunate to spend a few days on campus and felt that both the academic and cultural atmosphere were excellent.

By Zhuang Chen |

A well-established and prestigious school, a city business card, well worth a visit

By Jack |

The most famous university in Harbin is not much different from other universities. You can visit it when you have time.

By Crown Three |

Because students are on vacation and the weather is cold, there are not many people on campus and it is a bit empty. The ice sculptures on both sides of the road are very eye-catching. You can see ice sculptures everywhere in Harbin in winter, even on campus.

By Sligo's Old Dreams |

This is an old and famous university located in the northern part of the motherland. I was asked by my laboratory classmates to take some photos of the campus scenery. The scenery is very northern. There are ice sculptures and snow sculptures as soon as you enter the gate, and the lawn is also white. Because it is close to the Spring Festival, there are very few people.

By Baishi Village People |

The best university in Northeast China, with a Russian foundation and many cutting-edge disciplines.

By Getaway |

The first university in Northeast China, the main building still retains the architectural style of the 1950s, and there are not many modern buildings. There is an open school gate not far from the main building, pedestrians and vehicles can pass through freely. Passing by here, you can also get a taste of its fame~

By Chasing Dreams |

It's suitable for taking children to experience it. When I went there in January, it happened to be the first Ice Sculpture Festival, which was quite good.

By まるまるMaruko-Chan |

As a double first-class university, the campus scenery is very low-key.

By I am a cloud |

If you have time or are a university lover, you can come and have a look. There are many universities in Harbin, and they are all next to each other, so you can visit them one after another!

By Eye Color Mirror |

Just like many people who visit Beijing always check in at Peking University and Tsinghua University, when you come to Harbin, you must check in at Harbin Institute of Technology! With graduation season approaching, students are busy taking graduation photos.

Harbin Institute of Technology, you can take a direct bus to it. We went to the library of Harbin Institute of Technology, but we couldn't get in.

By style |

Harbin Institute of Technology was founded in 1920 as the "Harbin Sino-Russian Industrial School". Its establishment was directly related to the construction of the Chinese Eastern Railway by Imperial Russia in China. The purpose of the school was to train engineering and technical talents for the Chinese Eastern Railway. The school was run according to the Russian education model.

By Money-loving Little Stone |

A school, a great school, a great school that does not intend to specifically entertain tourists

By Jade in Stone |

It's a 211 or 985 university, but the campus scenery isn't as impressive as Harbin Engineering University. When I went to visit classmates, the gym was closed. The campus is small, with three cafeterias. The food is good, but the portions are small and the prices are high. Harbin's cost of living is similar to Dalian.

By Pineapple |

It was all white inside, and I couldn't see how beautiful the campus scenery was. However, the restaurants outside the school were pretty good, cheap and delicious.

By half autumn |

If you have time, you can go and have a look. It's quite interesting to walk around the campus.

By Cen Cen |

There are no walls, so it's easy to get in and out. It's very cold, and there are few people on the road.

By -_-Chinese cabbage-_- |

Harbin Institute of Technology is a well-established engineering school with many campuses in Harbin. The key point is that its campus can't really be called a campus. It is built on the side of the road. I find this quite strange. Every teaching building looks like the main building.

By Daily lateness |

My first stop in Harbin was the No. 1 university in Northeast China. I wanted to experience the campus atmosphere. Unfortunately, I fell down for the first time in Harbin because the ground was too slippery when I was leaving.

By Zhong Rui |

I have wanted to visit Harbin Institute of Technology since I was a child, especially the main building. This time I came here and it can be regarded as a wish come true.

By The distant wind whispers |

As someone who has lived here for four years, I have to say, when visiting Harbin, you can't miss a visit to Harbin Institute of Technology! Harbin Institute of Technology is the most European university in northern China, with architecture brimming with European charm. Especially in winter, strolling around the campus is truly a delight.

By gimoon |

It is definitely the highest institution of learning in Northeast China. It covers a large area and is built in the style of Japanese and Russian architecture.

By Gao Yidian |

Harbin Institute of Technology is located in the southwest of Harbin's city center, south of Xizhi Street. This is the university's main campus, beneath which is the Jiaohua Street underground passage. The entrance to Harbin Institute of Technology is quite impressive! While the campus isn't very large (perhaps there's a new one), those unfamiliar with the area wouldn't realize the wealth of talent hidden within! Many of China's top aerospace professionals likely hail from here! Harbin Institute of Technology's exterior perfectly lives up to its reputation as a nationally recognized 985 and 211 key university. It's both grand and imposing, with meticulously crafted details. It's much more beautiful than our university. Harbin Institute of Technology's campus isn't very large, and they may have other branch campuses.

By Lynn |

On the morning of our last day, we decided to visit Harbin Institute of Technology, a 985/211 university located in Northeast China. The round-trip taxi ride from the hotel cost 25 yuan, giving us a taste of Harbin's traffic. Harbin Institute of Technology boasts an open campus, surprisingly bisected by an overpass. Upon entering, the campus was bustling with undergraduates and graduate students taking graduation photos, transporting me back to graduation season. Further inside, I stumbled upon a flea market holding a graduation sale. The atmosphere was thick with university life.

By Daningzi |

This is a fantastic university in Northeast China. I went there just in time for graduation and saw many top students taking photos. You can also go inside the main building, and the interior has a very old Soviet feel.

By Water Sky |

Harbin Institute of Technology can be traced back to the Harbin Sino-Russian Industrial School founded in 1920. Its original purpose was to train railway engineering technicians. After going through several stages such as "Sino-Russian Industrial University", "Harbin Institute of Technology", and "Harbin Higher Industrial School", the school was officially named Harbin Institute of Technology in January 1938 and has been used to this day.

By Rachel |

Harbin's highest institution of higher learning is well-known nationwide and worth a visit for those who love colleges.

Northerners would never doubt the quality of Harbin Institute of Technology. Such a great university is definitely not to be missed when visiting Harbin. Besides, seeing the main building of Harbin Institute of Technology has always been my dream.

Harbin Institute of Technology is a key university of the national "985" and "221" projects. It is a university mainly focusing on science and engineering. It was founded in 1920 and has made important contributions to the country's aviation, aerospace and national defense construction.

Harbin Institute of Technology is known for its rigorous teaching.

Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) is divided into its main campus in Harbin, its Weihai branch campus, and its Shenzhen Graduate School. The main campus is further divided into Campus 1 and Campus 2. Campus 1 is the old campus, while Campus 2 is the former Harbin Institute of Technology campus. After the merger, it became Campus 2. (Harbin Institute of Technology also spun off from HIT and is one of the eight architectural schools, known for its strong architecture.) I only lived in Campus 1, at 92 Xidazhi Street, and I still remember the address clearly. The campus is very old. The main building, the Mechanical Engineering Building, and the Electrical Engineering Building are located closest to the street. They are Soviet-style buildings with walls nearly a meter thick. There are many laboratories in the basement level. We joked that it was perfect for shooting horror movies, completely undecorated. The library is very new and has won the Lu Ban Award. Of the dormitories, only Apartments 15 and 16 are new; the rest are quite run-down. Apartment 2 is said to have the highest population density in Asia, but I haven't verified this. The school cafeterias are called the Bachelor's Building, the College Building, and the Dumpling Garden. The food is excellent—really, really good—and very affordable. The school invests a lot in food. In the morning, on the second floor of the Bachelor's Building, there's fried eggs, milk, meat patties, fried dough sticks, and so on. The fried skewers on the second floor of the Bachelor's Building and the fried vegetable rolls, four-happiness meatballs, and braised pork on the third floor of the College Garden are all my favorites. And the cafeteria only accepts meal cards; cash is not accepted at all. Because the school subsidizes the cafeteria so heavily, it's a special benefit for students at the university. The HIT cafeteria is very famous in Harbin. The school's swimming pool is very professional. It's much better than other swimming pools that cost dozens of yuan an hour, and the price is only 6 yuan for two hours. I go there at least twice a week. Although the campus is small, the buildings are old, and Harbin's winters are not very pleasant, I have broadened my horizons and made friends here. The school's welfare and cultural care are also excellent. Whenever I think of HIT, I always feel a sense of pride and belonging. This sense of belonging is very happy.

By Traveler's Diary |

There are not many people in the university during the holidays in ordinary cities.

By Walking rabbit ears |

It was too cold when I went, so I just took a picture outside the subway. Back then, my first choice in the college entrance exam was Harbin Institute of Technology, one of the key national universities. It's also close to home. I haven't been back in over 10 years, and aside from the addition of a subway outside the campus, not much else seems to have changed. I miss it.

The height of summer has faded, and the gardenias outside the senior high school building are fading. For anyone who has ever held the name of Harbin Institute of Technology in their heart, it was nothing more than an obsession. Whether it was because of a dream, a loved one, or a variety of other reasons, going to Harbin, going to Harbin Institute of Technology, became a necessity. Harbin Institute of Technology was my first stop in Harbin. The campus was quiet, with old buildings. Because it was Spring Festival, there were no students on campus. I walked alone through the empty library, laboratory buildings, bus stops, basketball courts, and football fields, the ground covered in snow, and imagined what it must have been like for someone who had lived there for four years. The you in my heart will never be seen again. What I will see again is only the vicissitudes of time and the passing of time.

By The face is the soul of the body |

To be honest, the campus of Harbin Institute of Technology is a bit old and the environment is not as good as some new campuses. However, the strength of a famous university is still there.

By shelly |

I didn't look around carefully, but the dumplings in the school cafeteria were delicious. There are also many delicious small shops around.

By SicyCu |

The various colleges of Harbin Institute of Technology are very scattered, much like a city within the campus. The buildings are very simple and ancient.

By jean-may |

Because it was snowing at the time and it was very cold, I didn’t hang out on campus much. I bought a lot of kvass at the campus supermarket and played around with my friends at the University of Science and Technology while drinking kvass...

By Lasers. |

Harbin Institute of Technology is a century-old prestigious university. However, perhaps because of its long history, the campus scenery is not very beautiful. It is located in the city center and is a bit noisy. But the students must be very talented!

By Wake up and fall asleep without knowing it |

Harbin Institute of Technology is not far from the train station, less than 2 kilometers away. Walk straight on the south-west sloping street on the right side of the station until you reach the end of Songhuajiang Street. It's about a 20-minute walk. Harbin's roads rarely run directly north or south, so you'll need to be accustomed to the direction here.

After entering the main gate, I came to a stone tablet with the school name. After seeing it, I seemed to understand that students at Harbin Institute of Technology all write their school's name in traditional Chinese characters. The main building is on the left side of the main gate. Walking in from the first intersection, you will see the front of the main building. There is a small garden at the back. There are people doing square dancing. I wonder if they are professors or something. The library is on the right side of the main gate. Continue walking to the right and take a tour of the entire campus. There are affiliated kindergartens, activity centers, stadiums, etc. My favorite is the ice rink, but unfortunately you need a student card to enter. I went into the cafeteria to warm up and have a bite to eat. You don't need a meal card for the desserts. I'm not sure about the other places. I went into the cafeteria opposite the foreign student activity area. The bad thing is that the first and third floors were closed during the New Year's Day holiday, so there were no toilets in the entire building. It was sad.

There were no special foods near the gate, but there were a bunch of technology buildings selling computers and the like.

By The striving squeak |

It feels completely different from universities in Guangdong.

By Lemon Tea 2015 |

There are many specialty shops in Harbin Institute of Technology. The food is super delicious and authentic.

By La libert |

I came here because of its reputation as the city's best university. There are several stylish old buildings on campus. The rest of the place is typical engineering university style, with little character. I went in winter, so there wasn't much vegetation.

Harbin Institute of Technology is located in the southwest of Harbin's city center, south of Xizhi Street. This is HIT's main campus, beneath which is the Jiaohua Street underground passage. The main building, a spacious Soviet-era building, is to the left of the main entrance. The library and administrative building are both newer, located to the right of the main entrance. The circular hollow sculpture of the Harbin Institute of Technology star stands on the central axis of HIT, a landmark of the university. The main campus of HIT feels relatively unpopular, with a strong atmosphere reminiscent of a university of science and technology. As China's northernmost prestigious university, it's well worth a visit. HIT is located on Xizhi Street, adjacent to a subway station, offering convenient transportation. Off-campus businesses are also well-developed, with a wide variety of shopping malls and restaurants.

I don’t know why this is a tourist attraction, similar to Tsinghua University and Peking University.

Looking from outside the gate, you would think there is a road in the school, like a small town. But actually, it is just a road. The school doesn’t have any walls and leads directly to the road.

By |

This is a campus that is very Harbin-style, reflecting Harbin's absolute respect for education. The main gate of Harbin Institute of Technology stands directly on the roadside. After walking a few kilometers into the campus, there is an overpass below.

Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) is a popular choice for tourists who enjoy visiting universities. It's considered Harbin's best university, home to many international students, especially Russian beauties. Located at the intersection of Anfa Bridge and Xidazhi Street, HIT boasts numerous academic buildings and a large stadium. Its main entrance is impressive, and across from it are Bainaohui and Jiaohua Electronic World. Because of the large number of international students, HIT is surrounded by many Western-style restaurants, all of which offer a pleasant atmosphere. If you enjoy visiting universities in a particular city, HIT is highly recommended.
