The works in the Snow Sculpture Art Park are all award-winning works from snow sculpture competitions over the years.

Every winter, it is held on Sun Island. A world of snow with various snow sculptures.

By Ken Chen |

The various unique snow sculptures are quite good. They are very beautiful when lit up at night.

The Snow Sculpture Art Park, built on the former site of Fangcui Garden within Sun Island Park, covers an area of over 3,000 square meters. The 2015 28th China Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo was hosted by the Songbei District Committee and District Government, and organized by the Harbin Sun Island Scenic Area Administration and Harbin Sun Island Asset Management Company. The theme was "Meeting at the Snow Expo, Dreaming of Harbin." The Sun Island Snow Expo is not only a visual feast of snow art, but also offers visitors an unforgettable experience. Visitors will encounter the "most beautiful snow world" of their lives and experience the joy of encountering snow. Through classic snow sculptures and a series of activities, the Expo aims to inspire visitors' love for snow sculpture art, giving them a sense of homecoming and fully showcasing Harbin's unique, dreamlike, and joyful snow world.

By Don't lose your way |

It's a different feeling from ice sculptures. It looks very beautiful during the day! It's worth it!

By Abras |

Haha, it's definitely worth a visit. It's not as crowded as the Ice and Snow World, but it's also an ice and snow world. It's awesome. The snow sculptures glowing in the sun are so beautiful. And there are fewer people, so you can enjoy the ice and snow slide to your heart's content. Hahaha, the slides at the Ice and Snow World are too crowded.

By Big Hae Walking |

The Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo is held annually in winter, each year featuring a different theme. It's a truly beautiful encounter between people and snow, offering a breathtaking spectacle of nature, a breathtaking spectacle, and a truly captivating display of charm. During winter in Harbin, the snow sculptures on Sun Island are a must-see.

By Indiscriminate |

The snow sculptures are pretty good! They look stunning and beautiful!

By Little Madman |

Actually it's not bad, but the scale is a little small and the ticket price is a little expensive

By Come on, daddy |

It's very impressive and well worth seeing, but you can't stay outside for too long, as it'll be cold! It's definitely a good idea to wear more clothes when you go.

By Lazy Cat |

From planning and design, snow block stacking, snow sculpture production, work viewing, and free tour services to animated snow crowds, ice and snow 3D projection shows, and snowflake mazes, the Snow Expo achieves diversified ice and snow projects through the advantageous combination of "ice and snow + culture", "ice and snow + tourism", and "ice and snow + technology", presenting a unique and charming world-class snow sculpture art tourism, cultural and fashion event to tourists.

Various ice and snow sculptures are presented here. It is a must-visit place in Harbin in winter and is highly recommended.

The Snow Expo is located within the Sun Island Scenic Area. Getting there involves crossing the Songhua River and taking a bus to the riverbank. I originally wanted to use a phone navigation system, but since there were so many people heading to the same destination, I simply followed the crowd. The distance wasn't close, but walking in this snow-covered city offers new ways to explore. Along the way, I had snowball fights and skated on the ice slide (some company had built an ice slide in their yard, but I went in and had a few rounds, and no one was in charge). It wasn't tiring at all. Construction on the Snow Expo is clearly not yet complete; only the largest ones are finished. The medium-sized ones are still largely under construction, and the smaller ones, likely entries for competitions, are showing signs of disrepair after some time. Overall, the Snow Expo felt small and disappeared after a while. There were snow slides, but they certainly didn't have the impressive spectacle of the Ice and Snow World. All I could see was a vast expanse of white, with no contrasting objects. It wasn't just a pain for my eyes; even my camera (in smart mode) couldn't handle it. The Snow Expo wasn't crowded overall, likely due to the Ice and Snow World stealing the show. The Snow Expo also has slides, and this time there's one behind this snow sculpture. For those who don't dare tackle the long slides at the Ice and Snow World or don't have time to queue, this slide is a good way to test your courage or offer a little comfort. Tickets were purchased online, and there were designated pick-up windows. The Snow Expo has several entrances, so if you didn't enter through the main entrance on Sun Island, remember to exit through the main entrance, otherwise you'll miss the iconic snow sculptures at the entrance.

By Cordyceps |

This one's a tough one to review. It's certainly beautiful, but there's nothing much to do there except see the giant snow sculptures! For the artwork, 240 yuan is a good price! For tourists, it's not cheap to just see and not play, haha! If you don't go, you'll regret it, but if you do, you'll feel like you're missing out!

By Ren Fangfang_hhu |

There are so many big snow sculptures. It's so cold, but it's worth a visit.

By Tansheng |

It's not as big as I thought. It's just an ice sculpture exhibition that is enclosed. It feels a bit too commercial! ~

By mcma |

In the afternoon, we hiked across the frozen surface of the Songhua River to the Sun Island Snow Expo. Admission to the Sun Island Snow Expo is NT$240, with half-price for those aged 65 and over. The park is large and should take half a day to explore. The snow sculptures are beautiful and spectacular, well worth a visit. Transportation is a bit inconvenient, but you can take the Songhua River Cable Car to get there.

By Cochin |

Super awesome, the snow sculptures are amazing, children from the south must go and see it, although the ticket price is a bit expensive

By bering |

I didn't have high expectations for the snow sculptures at first, but after going, I found that the Snow Expo is quite good and worth a visit. The various snow sculptures are probably something most southern tourists have never seen. And it's best to buy a skateboard after entering. It's useful here and it will also be useful for the Ice and Snow World later...

The Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo, now in its 29th year, has always been the most beautiful and joyful encounter between people and snow, art and nature in winter. Today, it will once again sing the heavenly "Winter Love Song," evoking the natural affinity between humans and snow, and encountering this winter's most beautiful ballad.

The 29th China Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo, themed "Winter Love Song," features five scenic areas, 120,000 cubic meters of snow, and covers an area of 600,000 square meters. It opened on December 22, 2016.

The picture seems to be a bit messy when uploaded, or it was accidentally deleted. A landscape with snow sculptures all over it

By You Yi |

Very good, exceeded expectations, personally think it is better than the Ice and Snow World ~ There is also a big ice slide inside and there are very few people. The night view is also great

By JoJo_Counting money until my hands cramped |

The snow sculptures at the Snow Expo are very impressive, showing the ingenuity of human hands and minds.

By I love Liu Liu |

The snow sculptures are so beautiful.

By One by one, one by one, one by one |

Shit, shit, shit, these comments are all made up by writers. It's just a big park, how did the pricing bureau set the ticket price of 240? Our Beijing Forbidden City is so good, the ticket price is only a few dozen yuan, Harbin is full of people picking up passengers on the streets and alleys, this city is the worst tourist city I have ever been to

Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo, referred to as Snow Expo.

It is held on Sun Island every winter.

Very beautiful.

By Shuihexuan |

Snow sculptures of various sizes demonstrate the artistic attainments of the craftsmen and are well worth a visit.

By China-TravelNote user 92999916 |

Don't go, don't go, you're totally ripped off! 240 per person, and there aren't many snow sculptures inside. It's such a rip-off! You have to pay for everything else, like skiing and snow biking! There are only these few small ones!

By Small ear rabbit |

When you go to Harbin, snow sculptures and ice sculptures are a must-see. It will be shocking when you see them for the first time.

By gimoon |

Snow sculptures are not as stunning as ice sculptures, but they are also very beautiful.

By Guanyuan |

The area is located on Sun Lake and offers thrilling ice and snow slides, snowmobiles, dog sledding, as well as small recreational projects such as ice skating and sledding.

By Zhou Shaer |

Hahaha... To be honest... This place is a bit... It's best for friends who want to go to buy tickets in advance. You need to buy a group ticket for 45 yuan a day in advance, and 120 yuan on the day.

By Time is singing |

In winter, it hosts the Snow Expo, which opens from late December to February (depending on the temperature; high temperatures can damage the snow sculptures and lead to early closing). Most people choose to visit the Snow Sculpture Park first and then visit the Ice and Snow World in the evening. It's recommended to visit the snow sculptures early in the morning; the ice lanterns are even more beautiful and colorful at night. Buses 101, 102, 103, 13, or 79 arrive at the pier (at the Jiuzhan or Flood Control Memorial Tower), then transfer to a boat (cable car, 20 yuan round trip) or a tourist bus from Youyi Road along the Songhua River Highway Bridge to reach the island.

By Water Sky |

Sun Island is cool in the summer, but a world of white in the winter. Although we also build snowmen in the winter, they are just childish things compared to the snow sculptures on Sun Island.

By Bloodthirsty Rose |

In January 2013, I was a senior in college and had just finished my postgraduate entrance exams, so I couldn't wait to embark on a new journey. Of course, my parents were initially against it. The Harbin Snow Expo was amazing. The sea of snow, pure white, was incredibly calming. It was just incredibly cold, so I had to be very protective: gloves, a scarf, a hat, earmuffs, and hand warmers. I can't stress this enough.

By Bizarre |

Growing up in a snowy area like mine, it was quite a sight! From the characters to the scenery to the buildings, the sculptors used their ingenious skills to create a lifelike image.

By Miss Bones |

The ticket price is a bit high, not as good as the Ice and Snow World. The main snow sculpture is still very spectacular.

By Scratching Pocket |

I took a walk around Sun Island but didn't go in because I felt the ticket was a bit too expensive.

By guitu38 |

To visit Sun Island, you can walk across the Songhua River (winter only), or take the cable car for a round-trip ticket of 80 yuan. Tickets to the Snow Expo are 240 yuan, with student tickets half price. The Snow Expo features numerous lifelike snow sculptures, including many smaller sculptures by university students. A complete walk takes just over an hour, but there's not much to see. Many people don't know the difference between Sun Island and Ice and Snow World. While Sun Island is often described as a snow sculpture destination, Ice and Snow World is an ice sculpture destination. If you have to choose between the two, I recommend Ice and Snow World.

By Xiaoqiang |

Where would you go during the day? The Sun Island International Ice Sculpture Expo is the perfect place to experience the world of ice and snow at night. It's even more exciting at night. You absolutely have to go.

By 🐰 Su Xiu |

Such amazing snow sculptures are all carved by our hard-working people "stitch by stitch". They are all made with painstaking efforts. I can't help but admire them.

By clearsky961 |

The snow sculptures are very impressive. Although a long time has passed, you can still see the original exquisiteness. I went there during the day. I wonder if it will be more beautiful under the lights at night.

By Traveler's Diary |

After crossing the Songhua River and walking a short distance to the other side, you will reach Sun Island. The ticket is very expensive, nearly 300 yuan, so I didn’t go in to play because I might as well go to the Ice and Snow World directly with that money.

By CrstinaLau |

This year's is not as beautiful as before, I used some student works to make up for it, but the previous ones were still very beautiful. The service is good, there is a free car at the door.

By cgshly |

The snow sculptures at the Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo are very beautiful, with novel and unique shapes and lifelike appearance.

By Sydney HO |

The snow sculptures are stunning! They're scattered along Sun Island Road, on Sun Lake, and at the Happy Campground. The customer service staff were also very helpful, showing you a map and showing you where the sculptures are.

By A Xiu |

The snow sculptures reflect the sculptor's skills. Many of them are hollow, so you can imagine how difficult their creation was.

By Memories of You |

Bring 3-5 friends to see the art of snowflakes at the annual Harbin Sun Island Snow Sculpture Art Exhibition. Here you can see the heavy snow everywhere transformed into lively and vibrant things.

Even the popular Minions have become the protagonists here, but only the participants can truly understand how much effort is required to create such a huge snow sculpture!

The snow sculptures here are all of a terrifying size without exception, allowing you to see them clearly without much effort. However, judging by the degree of detail here, I am really impressed by the craftsmen who created these snow sculptures at the time. As long as you are not a perfectionist, it seems that there is nothing wrong with it.

Most of the snow sculptures here show successful people in film and television works, and the rest are common scenes in life. However, there will be a brief introduction of the creator on the base of each one, so at least you know what the meaning of this snow sculpture is.

You must not think that the material for the snow sculptures here is the snow flying all over the sky. Natural snow is often too fluffy to be suitable for making snow sculptures. Therefore, the materials originally used for the snow sculptures we see now are all artificially made. So you never have to worry about the snow sculptures disappearing if there is less snow in the Northeast in winter.

The depictions of human figures are incredibly lifelike. Perhaps people are the most common objects we interact with in real life, so the sculptures depicting real people here will resonate with many. We left the snow sculpture art fair just as the lights were on. Under the illumination, the pure snow sculptures during the day were transformed into a variety of colors. Seeing the snow sculptures at night is sure to be an extraordinary experience.

By Heartbroken man brushing his teeth |

I have to say, Harbin's entrance fees are ridiculously expensive! The Sun Island Snow Expo is huge, and I'd spend about 2-3 hours exploring it. As soon as you enter, you'll see the Snow Girl sculpture, which you've seen on many websites. The sculptures get bigger the further you go! There's even an ice surface the size of a football field. At night, it's crowded, and I personally feel the lighting on the sculptures doesn't look very good. So, I recommend going during the day when there are fewer people and you can have more fun!

By =.Broken. |

It was a little early when we went there, and many snow sculptures and ice sculptures were still being rushed, so there was no eye-catching feeling. It felt a bit worthless to spend more than 100 yuan. Most of the snow sculptures inside were works of college students. Local college students can use snow sculptures as works of art. Teachers will grade them in the park, haha

By Youer Baby |

The Snow Expo is definitely a place you'll regret not visiting, and a place you'll regret terribly if you do. For a 240 yuan ticket, all you get is more snow sculptures. The problem is, the kids have absolutely no interest in these visually appealing things! Even adults get visibly tired after just a few.

By Xiaoyan1124 |

Sun Island Snow Expo is a highlight of Harbin's ice and snow tourism, with high quality and large scale. If you are visiting Harbin for the first time, you can go and watch it.

By Yuzu Sauce |

It is really a creation of art~ It is so beautiful~~~~~

By Tiantian |

The tickets were incredibly expensive, over 200 yuan. They also strictly checked student IDs, requiring a comparison with their ID cards. They say this is a privately owned attraction, owned by the same owners as the Polar Museum and Ice and Snow World. That's why the tickets are so expensive.

By On the road, meet |

Sun Island is a 4-star hotel. Its size is comparable to a medium-sized park in Jiangnan. However, with so many snow sculptures, it is still very interesting and worth a visit.

By Shenma Farm |

The Sun Island Snow Expo is the birthplace and leader of national snow sculpture art, an important part of the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival, and one of the biggest highlights of Harbin's ice and snow tourism.

By Qin Er Zuo Yue |

The snow sculptures are super beautiful and detailed, and the snow sculpture slides are awesome, worth a look. I personally think it's better than the Ice and Snow World ~ haha

Sun Island, located on the north bank of the Songhua River, hosts a snow sculpture art expo every winter, starting in December within Sun Island Park. Each year, the expo features a different theme and area, with artists primarily hailing from China, Russia, the United States, Canada, and other countries. The expo emphasizes artistry, appreciation, and participation, and occasionally features performances of Northeastern folk customs. For those from the south who have never seen a blanket of snow, it's truly astonishing. Staying warm outdoors in Harbin in winter is crucial. It's recommended to bundle up tightly and wear knee pads for important joints, such as knees, to protect them. Avoid spending too much time outdoors; it's recommended to find a heated room every half an hour or so to warm up and enjoy the outdoors longer.

By Touching the fleeting years |

Located on Sun Island, the snow sculptures are beautiful and very nice...

By nature |

There's a saying about Sun Island: "If you don't visit Sun Island, you'll regret it for the rest of your life; if you do, you'll regret it for the rest of your life." Sun Island is truly worth a visit in winter, especially during the Snow Expo, where exquisite snow sculptures, nestled in a tranquil, white world, are truly worth a leisurely stroll. Sun Island is not recommended during other seasons.

By Master's Ring |

I forgot how much the ticket was, I just think that I should come and see this Snow Expo. I didn't go to the Ice and Snow World, but I came to the Snow Expo and walked around. It didn't seem so cold in the snow. The snow sculptures were lifelike. We have such things in our hometown, but definitely not on this scale. It was really amazing to see these. I usually don't like ice slides, but rolling in the snow is really a different experience. The snow on the road where the snow remover is spread is all black. It's rare to have such a snowy place. If it's cold, there are many warm cabins in the courtyard. You can go in and have a cup of hot drink. The sense of happiness is actually very small. You will fall in love with Xu Qing in the advertisement. But there is also a problem. The Snow Expo has always been opened before it is fully built. After opening, many snow sculptures will be dirty. When they are built, some are not very beautiful. If you are a Virgo, you must find a good time to visit the park and bring a selfie stick. The snow sculptures are too big, otherwise you can't take pictures. Otherwise, bring a photographer. If you take a taxi, the driver will tell you that if you are going to the Snow Expo, then I will take you to buy tickets and I won’t charge you for the taxi fare, because they charge 40 yuan for one ticket. It turns out that this is possible and it saves the money for taxi fare, but the ticket you get is a group ticket. I will save some ticket stubs, and such ticket stubs also make me feel entangled. If you have friends with the same hobbies, it is better to buy tickets at the door.

The first time I saw the snow sculptures, I was completely blown away. The soft snow, in the hands of the artists, was transformed into a variety of beautiful shapes, some grand, some graceful, the beauty was breathtaking. This is the birthplace of snow sculpture art in China and a key part of the Ice and Snow World. I think everyone who comes here will be instantly captivated.

By Sea Breeze Boat |

The Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo is held every winter. We experienced this snow sculpture feast in January 2008 and it was truly unique. Due to seasonal factors, the snow sculptures begin to melt in March.

By Old saying |

I first learned about Sun Island through the song "On the Sun Island" performed by Zheng Xulan many years ago. This song, featured in the documentary "Harbin's Summer," became a household name due to its beautiful melody and moving performance. Sun Island's winter is equally captivating, especially its snow sculptures. When I visited Sun Island, I not only saw the completed sculptures but also watched the workers create them, a process that truly requires patience and skill.

By Estonia |

The snow sculptures are so beautiful! There aren't too many people! It's just that the bus in Harbin is so hard to get on!

By Blueberry 213 |

A great place for family leisure and vacation, with lush trees and beautiful scenery. Worth a visit.

By The moon is supported by clouds |

My camera cannot be used normally in low temperature conditions, and the photos I take are not good. It is too cold in summer when the temperature drops to 20-30 degrees below zero!

By Lewis_Liu |

Some people may wonder if this snow sculpture park is similar to the Ice and Snow World, but it is not. It is full of snow sculptures, and some large snow sculptures are completely incomparable to the Ice and Snow World. The ticket price is not expensive, you can come and have a look.

By Law |

They are all snow sculptures.

The scenery is beautiful.

If a cup of soy milk doesn't cost 10 yuan,

The prices inside are too expensive.

Snow sculpture ticket 240

Group ticket 220

The local number seems to be 110?

At first glance, the tickets sound expensive.

But I think it is worth it. The garden is very large, there are many works of art, and the scenery is stunning.

By Martian User |

Sun Island, which hosts the Snow Expo in winter, is across the Songhua River. Although the tickets are a bit expensive, it is still worth a visit.

By Floating Years |

The snow sculptures are very good, with various shapes and forms. It feels that it is not easy for the people who carved the snow sculptures. It's great!

By maobo |

The indoor ice sculptures were truly impressive. It was my first time visiting such an art museum, and I was blown away. Since I went there in autumn, I had to rent a coat to avoid the cold. It's definitely worth seeing if you're visiting Harbin for the first time. I forgot how much the ticket cost.

By Linlin |

At the end of December 2013, the Snow Expo had just begun. We encountered a resident selling VIP tickets on the street. We bought two for 50 yuan. When we got to the entrance, we saw the passages divided into various categories: adults, students, senior citizens, citizens, VIPs, etc. Adult tickets were 240 yuan per person, which was quite generous. VIP tickets were not for sale and had no price tag. You had to enter through Gate 1 before 11:30. That day, the VIP passage was the most popular… What a city, what a treat for its citizens, hahahaha.

In addition to the magnificent snow sculptures, the Snow Expo also organizes scheduled activities every morning and afternoon, such as the Cartoon Carnival Parade, Yangko, and stilt walking. Visitors also have fun and take photos with their favorite cartoon characters. The garden scenery covered with white snow is also very beautiful, so take your time to appreciate it.

By Lhasa Wanzhong |

The snow sculptures are very beautiful. I strongly recommend that friends visiting from the south come to see the snow sculptures during the day and go to the Ice and Snow World at night!

The Snow Expo is held on the Sun Island on the bank of the Songhua River. A large-scale snow sculpture expo is held every winter.

Tickets can be ordered in advance on Taobao, where discounts are available, generally 50-70% off. The specific discount depends on the annual ticketing situation.

If you book a ticket and get it delivered, it's very simple. Just communicate with the seller about the pick-up address. If you book the ticket yourself, you can go to the large bus station at the end of Central Avenue near the Flood Control Memorial Tower and take bus No. 29 directly to the station. There are many buses, so don't worry.

It's recommended to bring a thermos with hot water, and if you get hungry easily, you can also bring some chocolate. There are no places to eat inside the Snow Expo. There are some small shops near the gate where you can buy some food, but you have to leave the scenic area to get there.

The best time to visit is from 10 am to 4 pm. Harbin has short daylight hours in winter, and it is almost dark by 4 pm, so you must seize the time to visit.
