Yabuli Ski Resort is a national 5S-rated ski resort, comprised of the New Sports Committee Ski Resort, Sunshine Resort Ski Resort, and Yawangsi Ski Resort. New Sports Committee Ski Resort is the largest and more suitable for beginners, making it the most popular choice. I booked a 3-hour ski ticket on Taobao for 100 yuan per person, and rented a ski suit and goggles for 50 yuan each, which was still significantly cheaper than the retail price. The vendor also provided free shuttle service from Yabuli South Station.

Beginners should ideally hire an instructor, as it's incredibly difficult to navigate the slopes. The feeling of skiing is really great, but it's too rip-off. For beginners who go skiing at the New Sports Commission, the coach charges 240 for two hours. Don't think that there are two or three people to one coach, because the coaches are one-on-one and will take you down the intermediate ski slopes. The teams will never mention tips at the beginning. Even in the lobby, because I had read the reviews before, I mentioned the tip indirectly, "It's 240 for them, isn't there some for you?" They will tell you righteously, "No, no, no, we are a formal state-owned enterprise. For a ticket price of 240, we only charge a commission of 60. It's all formal." Then after you go in, they are so enthusiastic that you are not used to it. Smokers will pass you cigarettes, and children will pass you candies and help you put on your shoes. Then when we took the cable car up the mountain, he deliberately sat in a car alone with you, and then said that it’s not easy for us in the service industry. The ticket price is 240, but we only get a commission of 60. When it comes to tips, you gave him 100, but he still thought you were treating beggars well. In the end, the two of you gave a tip of 200 each, a total of 400. In the end, he said to you, "The tip is a matter of heaven and earth, known only to you and me." I know NM, such a good ski place has been ruined by these people who charge money without permission!!!

There are quite a lot of people in the beginner's field. Also, be careful about the issue of private instructors asking for tips, as the rules do not allow tips.

The entire trip felt like a warm family get-together. We gradually got to know each other better, and the conversations became even more joyful. The instructors here are said to be relatively cheap, at ¥240 for two hours. So our tour leader suggested we hire an instructor (we skied twice on this trip, once at Yabuli and once at Vanke. The Vanke instructors were ¥200 an hour, much more expensive). So, thankfully, we hired one. The instructor started by changing into snowshoes and skis and stayed with you all the way to the end... (Of course, the reason for the tip at the end was because you'd be asking for it. I didn't get to take any photos of the skiing, but I had a lot of fun. Thanks to the instructor's care, I didn't fall at all.

Yabuli is a renowned ski resort in China, offering professional tracks. Beginners can only try the beginner tracks at best. The daytime skiing fee at Yabuli Ski Resort is 200 RMB per person for two hours. Skiing is so much fun! I love it! The facilities here are so complete, it's truly one of the best ski resorts. My hometown ski resort pales in comparison! I feel like even a fall here doesn't hurt. It's so fun! Hahaha! It's quite far from the city, so I recommend taking the train or taking a two-day tour for more convenience! Two days is even more fun. Even after all the falls, I don't feel bad about winter anymore!

Xuexiang is quite far from Yabuli Ski Resort, and the drive takes about 2 hours. We have never skied before, and the tour we signed up for included skiing and coaching fees.

I think hiring a trainer is absolutely essential! The slopes are divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. However, most people are at the beginner level, while the best skiers will go down to the intermediate level. I guess only the best skiers would go to the advanced slopes!

There were a lot of people skiing at that time, most of them were concentrated on the beginner ski slopes...

If you hire a coach, he will teach you the basic skiing posture and method. I think it is very useful and I have almost mastered it. The coach will also take you to the intermediate ski slope. He took us to ski twice and it was very fun. There are very few people on the intermediate slope.

But tipping the coach is a real bummer...

Don't trust local tour guides, especially those recommended in reviews. It's best to go on your own! I didn't understand at the time and signed up for a tour group for 138 yuan. They said the Yabuli skiing trip included transportation and a lunch. I didn't want to bother, so I signed up. The next morning, we left at 5:00 a.m., and I was surprised at the early departure. Only after we got on the bus did the tour guide tell us it was a "naked tour" and that we had to add other options like "A" and "B." "A" was 750 yuan, and "B" was 950 yuan. At first, I thought I was just skiing, so I didn't need to add any packages. But the tour guide kept dragging me along, making it seem like I owed her anything. 🙄 She said everyone else on the bus had added packages, but I didn't. She even told me I wouldn't wait on the bus if I didn't add any. I had no choice but to add a 200 yuan tour. I don't think any of those options were that fun, but if you're a wealthy person, that's a different story. By the way, during the process, the tour guide kept saying that he would give me discounts or something, but I later agreed reluctantly. I heard that all tours are like this, so those who sign up for a tour and just want to ski need to be cautious.

Let's talk about the Yabuli ski resort. If you're booking a tour, you'll usually find that the tour guide will take you to a place to rent ski suits and goggles midway. I recommend avoiding that place, as it's quite expensive. If you want to rent, go to the Yabuli ski resort. The prices there are 90 yuan a day for suits and 50 yuan for goggles. You can compare them yourself. I didn't rent anything, and I felt the tour guide was a bit alarmist. I wore a short down jacket and wasn't cold at all; I even sweated. Of course, you should bring your own hat, earmuffs, and mask (and ideally, use heat packs on your feet). So whether to rent or not, and what to rent, is entirely up to you. As for the instructor, if you need one, hire one. It seems to be 240 yuan for two hours, and you can hire a group, but you can always try it out on your own first. I initially researched skiing tips online, and I didn't fall on the beginner slopes, and they went pretty smoothly. With some photos and some fun, the two hours went by quickly, so I don't think hiring an instructor is necessary.

I wrote this guide because I think the route from Harbin to Yabuli is quite shady. If you have the means, it's best to go on your own. There are trains and buses from Harbin to Yabuli. You can check online, and China-TravelNote also has some packages with transfers to and from the scenic area.

I'll also share the most hassle-free route: join a tour group. But be resolute and don't agree to anything the tour guide says! If things are truly overwhelming, book the cheapest option available. 1. Yabuli Ski Resort

The Yabuli Ski Resort is comprised of three high mountains: Daguokui, Erguokui, and Sanguokui. They are clearly visible from Yabuli South Station. Yabuli boasts several ski resorts: the New Sports Commission Ski Resort, the Xinhao Sunshine Resort (formerly Windmill Villa), the Yawangs Hotel Ski Resort, the Daqingshan Ski Resort, the Jiaotong Villa Ski Resort, and the Haohanpo Ski Resort. With the exception of the New Sports Commission Ski Resort in Daguokui and the Xinhao Sunshine Resort in Sanguokui, which offer a variety of beginner, intermediate, and advanced slopes, all other resorts offer only beginner-level slopes.

Of the many ski resorts available, I chose the New Sports Commission Ski Resort and the New Hao Sunshine Resort. A week before my trip, I asked Yu Yang of Yabuli Chunxueju Mountain Villa which ski resort was best. Yu Yang told me that the New Sports Commission Ski Resort was more suitable for beginners, like those of us who had never skied before, while the New Hao Sunshine Resort was more suitable for advanced skiers.

Following Yu Yang's advice, we chose the New Sports Committee Ski Resort and were very satisfied with the results. Furthermore, even if you don't ski, you can still enjoy the skiers' graceful movements and the spectacular sight of people falling over themselves. My wife and mother-in-law, who don't ski, helped my daughter and me look after things, saving us from renting a ski locker and allowing us to browse freely. If you ask me, it's a bit pricey, but my daughter had a blast, so it was worth it. The day before leaving for Harbin, I confirmed a four-hour ski trip for two at the New Sports Commission Ski Resort with Yu Yang and arranged a chartered car to Xuexiang (500 yuan). The four-hour ski trip at the New Sports Commission cost 480 yuan for two people (240 yuan per person). I hired a female instructor for four hours of practice with my daughter, 480 yuan (240 yuan for two hours, 300 yuan for three hours). I tipped the instructor 500 yuan (usually 90-100 yuan per hour, and I was thinking of giving the instructor a 400 yuan tip, as is customary in the industry). But then the beautiful instructor said it was a round number during Chinese New Year, and I was stunned. What did she mean by a round number? She was supposed to give 500 yuan. But after thinking about how dedicated the instructor was to my daughter and how much she enjoyed skiing, I agreed. At Yu Yang's Chunxueju Mountain Villa, I rented two sets of ski clothes for 120 yuan (60 yuan each), a helmet for 60 yuan (30 yuan each), and goggles for 10 yuan (10 yuan per pair). All skiing fees total 1,650 yuan.

Regarding the question of whether to hire a coach, for friends who have never skied, I just want to say one thing: if you want to fully enjoy the fun of skiing, hire a coach.

Anyone who wants to ski must go there, it's so big, with beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. I skied for four hours with no basic skills and was able to ski the intermediate slopes. I was so happy!

On the way back to Harbin from Xueyang, we went to Yabuli Ski Resort and skied for a while.

Those who have never skied before can go and experience it. Because we only had 2 hours at Yabuli Ski Resort, so, including the first time changing shoes, etc., we spent a lot of time. Yabuli Ski Resort was not a very pleasant experience from beginning to end!

For beginners, wearing snowshoes and hats correctly and other protective measures are key. I have personally seen people wearing snowshoes upside down, and you also need to understand the safety knowledge of the snow slopes. If you fall or hurt yourself while out playing, it will affect your mood for travel. The advanced slopes of the new Sports Commission are also great. Don’t look at the many slopes. On my fourth day in Harbin, I woke up to a light snowfall. It was the first snow I'd seen in over 20 years! So exciting! I heard snowy days are perfect for skiing!

If you're planning to go skiing in Yabuli, remember to make reservations in advance. Buying tickets from the hotel owner is cheaper than buying them online.

What's it like to ski in the snow? I don't know how to describe it; you have to experience it yourself. At that point, I couldn't focus on two things at once. Fortunately, I did manage to achieve some minor success.

We skied for 4 hours and it felt like the time was just right, not too short and not too long. If it was any longer we really wouldn't have the energy to ski anymore.

We took the train there and returned the same day. At South Station, buses from various ski resorts pick up tourists. We boarded the New Sports Commission bus, which was free. After boarding, a staff member asked if we had made reservations. We had no idea what reservations were required beforehand, assuming we could just pay at the resort and go. So, we asked her to help us get a ski pass. There were two-hour and four-hour options, and we booked a four-hour pass for 240 RMB. Four hours was plenty of time, just enough for fun. The four hours start from the time you pick up your first ski gear and end when you return it. At the New Sports Commission, a staff member helped us get the pass and collected a 60 RMB deposit, which is refunded upon return. We then rented a locker for our backpacks and shoes. I think the locker cost 10 RMB per locker. Keep your valuables with you, and remember to keep your phone secure, as it's bound to die after skiing. Hiring a trainer is more fun; the two-hour pass costs 240 RMB. Don't be afraid to take the cable car up to the higher slopes with your instructor; they'll take good care of you. We refused to pay at the time, not to mention the female tour guide's unpleasant appearance. She was full of foul language and threatened to have the driver throw us off. Everyone else in the car was terrified and told us to pay. But we didn't pay, and nothing happened. This is true of bundled sales, but nowadays, everything is about selling services, and violence shouldn't be used to counter violence.

The storage boxes inside are also 30 each. You have to queue up to receive your appropriate shoe and gear size. To exchange, you have to queue up again and pay a timed fee. Whether you want a trainer depends on your personal needs, and the price is negotiable. This is an insider tip, and they're generally not professional technicians. They're part-time workers learning on the job during the winter break. Professionals charge double the price.
