The peaks are strange and the roads are dangerous. From a distance, the mountain looks like a stack of books. Walking on the plank road along the mountain and the cliff is a bit scary. In terms of the scenery of the mountain, I think it can be compared with Huangshan and Huashan. It seems not far to Liantian Bridge and Sanhuang Temple, but it is really far to walk there. We went up the mountain from the north gate, which is quite far away. The scenery here is more precipitous, especially the plank road on the mountainside, which is frightening in some places. There are relatively few tourists in the scenic area and it is very quiet. If you are not just climbing the mountain, it is more suitable for sightseeing than Songshan Mountain.

Sanhuangzhai belongs to the Shaoshi Mountain and is also part of Songshan Mountain. Songshan Mountain is mainly divided into Shaoshi Mountain and Taishi Mountain. Shaoshi Mountain has beautiful scenery and is slightly easier to climb. Taishi Mountain is slightly more difficult to climb, but it is the main peak of Songshan Mountain. Since I can't climb both mountains in one day, I chose to climb them separately in two days to conquer Songshan Mountain~



Due to their close locations, tickets to Sanhuangzhai and Shaolin Temple are often sold together. It is recommended to enter from Sanhuangzhai and exit from Shaolin Temple. (Because there are few cars returning to the city from the foot of Sanhuangzhai, but there are many at Shaolin Temple.) Sanhuangzhai is not difficult to climb. If you have good physical strength, like me, you can finish the climb in three and a half hours.

The scenery is beautiful, but very tiring. I walked from Sanhuangzhai to the cable car, and finally to Shaolin Temple.

Don't miss Sanhuangzhai when you go to Shaolin Temple Scenic Area. It is more beautiful than Songshan Mountain. Take a taxi to Haohanpo and don't go back. It is the best route to Shaolin Temple.

Compared with the Sanhuangzhai Scenic Area and the Taishan Scenic Area, Sanhuangzhai is completely equivalent to an undeveloped primitive scenic spot, and Taishan is a fairly mature scenic spot. Then there is the Songshan Shaolin Cableway, which is more of a pit for tourists. When tourists first arrive, the staff there will catch one and pit one. Tourists don't know much about this attraction, so in order to sell tickets for the cableway, they all tell tourists that they must buy round-trip tickets, which causes tourists to go back a lot and be exhausted. This suggestion is for the long-term development of the scenic spot, or have a conscience.

If you just visit Shaolin Temple, it is really nice, but I don't know why they have to add Sanhuangzhai. I think it is a huge rip-off. You have to buy a ticket for 100 yuan and take the cable car to Sanhuangzhai for 80 yuan. It's really ridiculous. There is nothing to see when you take the cable car to Sanhuangzhai, just some special landforms. I don't know why everyone says Sanhuangzhai is better than Songshan. Maybe hiking is better. Anyway, the Sanhuangzhai we saw was all bad.

Because I was in a hurry, I had to take the cable car, which cost me 80 yuan more. The cable car took quite a long time, and the distance was really too long. After reaching the top, it took another 2-3 hours to reach the Liantian Cable Bridge and the temple. The whole journey was a special kind of folded fault mountain landscape, and the rest was really average. Anyway, it was really boring to take the cable car up the mountain, and I don’t know how it would be if I climbed the mountain. Anyway, don’t take the cable car up, you will find it’s too bad.

The reason we went in was to see the Liantian Cable Bridge. It was a decent thing, a bridge connecting two valleys.

Sanhuangzhai is in Shaoshi Mountain. You need to take a cable car from Shaolin and walk for 3 hours to get there. There are very few people here. The scenery is very good and worth a visit. Please bring more water with you, as there are few people selling water along the way.

It is a good place to climb Songshan Mountain from here. It is nice to climb the mountain for half a day.

After coming out of Tallinn, I bought a cable car ticket to go directly to the prayer platform, and then climbed the mountain all the way to Sanhuangzhai. The plank road is very long. This road looks not far, but it is still quite time-consuming to walk. When I went there in February, there were still icy places on the mountain, which was a bit slippery. However, after arriving at Sanhuangzhai, I was not amazed by the terrain. On the contrary, I felt it was too hot and there was nothing to see. There is still no public transportation from Sanhuangzhai to Dengfeng City or the main gate of Shaolin Temple.

It is also very frustrating that there is no water in the toilet, even in a 5A-level scenic spot!

Sanhuangzhai, the stubbornness and splendor of life everywhere

The most famous ones are Songshan Zen Temple and Sanhuang Plank Road. The Zen Temple is a stone-based Zen temple in the mountains, which is very time-traveling, and the Sanhuang Plank Road has a famous book page scene.

Starting from Zhengzhou, go to the bus station next to the train station to take a shuttle bus to Dengfeng (I have to complain that the bus is so dirty, and there are things left by previous passengers without cleaning). The highway in the city is very congested, so it is recommended not to sleep on the highway. I slept for a while and woke up to find that the scenery on the road was great. What a pity. After arriving at Dengfeng Station, I directly found a taxi outside to Sanhuangzhai Scenic Area for 40 yuan. I arrived at Sanhuangzhai at about 1 o'clock and left the gate of Shaolin Temple Scenic Area at 5 o'clock, walking the whole way. Here are some suggestions for everyone. First of all, if you don't go to Sanhuangzhai, you will find that the 100 yuan ticket is not worth it. The Shaolin Temple Scenic Area at the foot of the mountain is more like a big park. You have to walk for a long time before you can see the real Shaolin Temple. It feels very deserted without incense. If you want to climb the mountain, it is recommended not to go up the mountain from the Shaolin Temple side. There are trees next to the mountain path, which is too low compared to the cliffs of Sanhuangzhai. The correct route should start from Sanhuangzhai and then take the cable car down the mountain (although I walked down the mountain, I still recommend that you take the cable car to save time and energy. Because there are no surprises on the way down the mountain, the scenery of the cable car is probably better). When hiking, remember to prepare water and dry food (Snickers bars are recommended for quick blood circulation). It took me almost two hours to get to the cable car. I suggest you don't go hiking in the hot summer sun, as you may get burned. Finally, if you don't like hiking, you can take the cable car up the mountain from Shaolin Temple, walk a distance in the direction of Sanhuangzhai, and then turn back to take the cable car down the mountain (it is not recommended to walk to the exit of Sanhuangzhai, as there are not many cars going back). There is a bus at the entrance of Shaolin Temple that can take you back to Dengfeng, and I was going to Luoyang, so I waited on the opposite side of the road for the Luoyang bus, which was about 20 minutes.

My boyfriend has been to Sanhuangzhai four or five times. He took me there once. We regarded climbing Sanhuangzhai as a way to exercise. We will go there again on New Year's Day this year. This time, I am afraid that other sections of Songshan Mountain will be difficult to reach.

Songshan Sanhuangzhai, Beishan and Shaolin Temple are adjacent to each other. Take a bus from Zhengzhou to Dengfeng, and you can take a taxi to Sanhuangzhai after getting off the bus. The price we negotiated with the driver is 45. This is the scene as soon as we enter the mountain gate... There are endless long steps like a ladder to heaven. Almost no one walks on this road. Except for the unique cicada chirping in summer accompanying us walking in the mountains, more people come in from the direction of Shaolin Temple. During the climbing process, we met many apprentices of Shaolin Martial Arts School, the youngest of whom is only 6 years old. Maybe climbing Songshan is a physical training for them?

Sanhuangzhai is a very good scenic spot. The ticket for the Shaolin Temple is 100 yuan per person. Students can get half price.

It is recommended to start from Sanhuangzhai and end at Shaolin Temple. The reason for this is that there are fewer people in Sanhuangzhai. There are too many people in Shaolin Temple, and after visiting Shaolin Temple, you may not have the motivation to go to Sanhuangzhai.

We arrived at Sanhuangzhai early in the morning and slowly started climbing the mountain to enjoy the scenery along the way. It was really beautiful, much better than Shaolin Temple.

I definitely recommend having a good time in this place, which is much better than looking at those newly built shabby buildings in Shaolin Temple.

The Block Mountain is the most beautiful place in Songshan.

After reading the guide, I chose to hike up the mountain near Sanhuangzhai, and it turned out to be the right choice. The road was not repaired until late July, and I saw areas that had been repaired for landslides halfway through. I was lucky to be able to hike there once.

There are black cars at the bus station that take the initiative to pick up passengers. The fare is 50 yuan. I personally recommend this method. It takes 30 minutes to drive. The distance is indeed far. The driver is also very friendly and will take you directly to the ticket office at the entrance of the mountain. If you have plenty of time, you can choose bus No. 3 and then drive back. It is estimated that it will take an extra hour to half an hour, and it is said that you can save half of the RMB.

We started climbing at 10 o'clock. We walked quite fast along the way. The scenery was very nice, similar to the steepness of Mount Huashan. I guess there are too few people climbing here, so there are only 2 or 3 water selling points along the way. Please be sure to prepare and bring more water in advance. We arrived at Pagoda Forest at 1:40 pm. I was not very interested in the temple, so I just walked around and went out the main gate at 2:30. The ticket cost 100 yuan, but I think Shaolin is only worth 20. If I entered through the main gate and wanted to see the scenery of the back mountain, I would choose to return to Shaolin Temple by the same route. There are too many ways to go, and it is conservatively estimated to take 6 or 7 hours. Sanhuangzhai is too deserted, and there may be no car to take you back to the city after coming down.
