It is about 2 kilometers away from the urban area of Enshi. It is the largest Tusi cultural landmark project in the Tujia area in China. It is also the largest and most typical antique building complex among the Tujia stilt houses in China.
Jiujintang is the core part of the entire Tusi City, which is composed of 333 pillars, 333 stone column bases, 330 doors, thousands of carved wooden windows, thousands of purlins, and tens of thousands of rafters.
One of the attractions is the "Linjun" temple, an ancestor highly respected by the Tujia people. The Linjun temple faces east and is adjacent to the temple. There are huge long murals painted along the mountain wall, which record the heroic deeds of Linjun throughout his life.
In addition, the Tujia folk houses in the scenic area - stilt houses are also worth visiting. Most of the stilt houses are built near mountains and rivers, with fruit trees and bamboo forests planted in front of and behind the houses.

Also known as Mowei Tower, it is located in the northwest of Enshi City, 500 meters away from the city government. It is a folk scenic spot of ancient monuments and buildings. It is designed by Suzhou Garden Design Institute and built by local folk artists. It is a Tujia area antique Tusi manor building complex. It is the only Tujia area Tusi cultural landmark project with the largest scale, the most magnificent project, the most unique style and the most beautiful landscape in the country. The famous sociologist Mr. Fei Xiaotong named it and inscribed it as "Enshi Tusi City". Take bus No. 30 from the bus station opposite Enshi Railway Station, and the ticket price is 50 yuan. There are two Tujia performances every day, at 10 am and 3 pm.
The area of Tusi City is not very large. It only takes two hours to see it. There is luggage storage. The main building is an antique building called Jiujintang, which imitates the Rongmei Tusi Mansion. It is still good to come here to feel the scale of the Tusi Mansion. The main thing is to see buildings such as stilt houses. When we went there, it was off-season. Jiujintang was under repair, so there were no performances. The next few entrances were also under repair and not open. After a quick visit, I took a taxi to Enshi Railway Station.
Ancient wooden houses
Hidden in the layers of cliffs
The ancient salt street hides in the stone cave
Poetic silk is hidden in the old street
This mysterious place
The sun stands upright and reads morning and evening
Ordinary creatures from ancient times
Stick out your head
In this village deep in the mountains
You can pick up a bunch of colorful
Sad stories can be heard everywhere
Banfu knocks out the dampness on the old tree
Claw hammer sews on silverware
Stilt House
The lingering resentment of falling
Soaked in the thoughts of thousands of years
I came here for this village
But I can't get out of here
The last door
Time freezes Tusi City
Time transcends into Zen
In a vague memory
The decline or rise of a surname
The monument is hard
Family Tree Nostalgia
The haunting land of the Ba tribe
Like the Daughter City, it is a city attraction, but unlike the Daughter City, it is not in the form of a shopping street and is more of an architectural attraction.
Each of the Nine-In-One Hall is a room with different purposes, from the security floor to the meeting hall, then to the concubine's room and then to the chieftain's room. The Nine-In-One Hall is a symbol of the chieftain's centralized power.
An explanation would be better.
Enshi Tusi City, also known as Mowei Tower, is about 6 kilometers away from Enshi Station, and it takes 15 minutes by car. It is the largest, most magnificent, most unique and most beautiful landmark project of Tusi culture in the Tujia area in China. It is also the largest and most typical ancient-style building complex among the Tujia stilt houses in China.
The Tusi City Gate Tower is also called the Tusi Chaomen or the Watch Tower. It is a memorial building that shows the Tusi's majesty and merits. The plaque was named by Mr. Fei Xiaotong and inscribed with "Enshi Tusi City".
The whole gatehouse contains many ingenious and ambiguous numbers, such as the gatehouse is 4 stories high, with 12 columns and 24 beams, which represent the 4 seasons, 12 months and 24 solar terms in a year. On the roof of the gatehouse, there is a decorative sculpture of several bats supporting an ancient coin, which is called "Fortune in front of you". Fortune refers to the bats, and money refers to the copper coin.
The bronze replica facing the gatehouse is called "Tiger Button Chunyu". The Ba people worship tigers, so they put a tiger as the button on the Chunyu, so it is called Tiger Button Chunyu. It was popular from the Warring States Period to the Qin and Han Dynasties, and was a symbol of power and wealth. According to research, the Tiger Button Chunyu was a unique musical instrument of the Ba people from the Eastern Zhou Dynasty to the Han Dynasty. The button was tied with a rope, hung on a frame, and made to make a sound by hitting it.
Wind and Rain Bridge is a traditional architectural style of the Dong ethnic group. In the past, the Dong people built bridges with wooden beams at river crossings for passing merchants and farmers to rest and cool off or to shelter from the wind and rain, so as to relieve the pain of carrying things on their shoulders and backs. Therefore, it is called "Wind and Rain Bridge". Today, Wind and Rain Bridge not only serves to shelter from wind and rain, but also becomes a beautiful landscape.
This is a stilt house on the water. This is where the Tusi princes used to play in the water with their families.
Jiujintang is the palace where Tusi governed and lived. It reproduces the historical appearance of Tujia Tusi palace and displays its style and majesty. The overall building is progressive from low to high, with nine layers and nine entrances, so it is called "Jiujintang". Nine is the maximum number, symbolizing that Tusi lived in a supreme and noble status.
There are two generals guarding the left and right of the Jiujing Hall, and a female general on the right. In the past era when men were superior to women, the statue of the female general was deliberately made shorter.
The Jiujin Hall is composed of 333 pillars, 333 stone column bases, 330 doors, more than 90 windows, thousands of carved wooden windows, thousands of purlins, and tens of thousands of rafters. It is 99.99 meters deep, 33 meters wide, and has a total construction area of 3,999 square meters. It is a rare pure mortise and tenon-jointed wooden structure in China.
There are two Tujia song and dance performances in Tusi City every day, at 10 am and 3 pm respectively. The performances are mainly to show the Tujia customs and Tusi culture, which are very distinctive. We didn't watch them. What were we doing? Of course, we were busy taking pictures. The 10 yuan ticket was unlimited, but the 37-degree high temperature was really unbearable. We took off our clothes after only half an hour.
Because there are nine courtyards with each one higher than the last, we walked to the top floor of the last courtyard, where we could see the whole front yard. Looking up, we could see pavilions, corners of buildings, eaves and claws, all in a well-arranged arrangement.
Enshi Tusi City is located in the southwest of Hubei Province, in Enshi City, the capital of the prefecture. It is the largest Tusi cultural landmark project in the Tujia area in China, and also the largest and most typical ancient architectural complex among the Tujia hanging corner buildings in China. It includes more than 30 scenic spots in 12 scenic areas, including the gatehouse, wind and rain bridge, nine entrance halls, city walls, white tiger statues, crouching tiger iron bridge, etc.
Although the Tusi City is rebuilt, it is still quite large, and there are performances and interactive activities inside, which is good. But the scenery is average. Overall, it is of medium level.
The Enshi Tujia Daughter City in China is located in Qiliping, Enshi City, Hubei Province. It is a national Tujia cultural gathering place and also an urban entertainment consumption center and tourist distribution center in Wuling area.
Tujia Daughter City includes 300 small commodities, 500 inns, 30 specialty restaurants, 40 delicious snacks, 8,000 square meters of landscape lawn, 10,000 square meters of comprehensive sports center and the first national indoor situational theater - Daughter City Theater, and also has the largest water park in Hubei Province. Enshi Tujia's most famous characteristic folk dating event - Daughter Meeting, will also be permanently settled in Tujia Daughter City!
Welcome to my home for tea if you are tired of shopping. The authentic Enshi Yulu is waiting for you. There are also handmade rice wines for sale online. There is also a homestay experience on the way to Enshi Grand Canyon.
This Tusi City was built in 1998 and officially opened to the public in 2002. It is a completely man-made landscape.
Magnificent and magnificent, the Jiujin Hall is worth a closer look
It was rebuilt on the site, so there is no historical atmosphere. We came out in about half an hour. It is beautiful from a bird's eye view. It is a very boring attraction.
Enshi Tusi City is grand and better than expected. The ticket is 45 yuan. It is worth a visit.
You can learn about Tusi culture, and there are some life stories and real objects on display, and the area is relatively small.
It is about half an hour's bus ride from the train station. The architecture is novel and unique. Because it is Tujia culture, it gives people a sense of mystery everywhere. It is worth a visit!
I don't recommend going there. It was under repair when I went there. There was nothing there and I couldn't see anything. They still charged the normal fee.
The scenery is very beautiful, the city wall is very imposing, and when you stand at a high point, you will feel
A great place with a sense of history, very exquisite and full of ethnic characteristics
Enshi Tusi City, also known as Mowei Tower, is located in the northwest of Enshi City, Hubei Province, in a small place called Duishan Bay, 500 meters away from the city government. It includes more than 30 scenic spots in 12 scenic areas, including the gate tower, Dong ethnic group wind and rain bridge, Linjun Temple, parade ground, Tujia folk houses, Tusi Palace - Jiujin Hall, city wall, bell tower, drum tower, Hundred Flowers Garden, White Tiger Statue, Crouching Tiger Iron Bridge, Tingtao Teahouse, and National Art Garden.
Enshi Tusi City is located in the northwest of Enshi City. It is a national 4A-level scenic spot and a folk scenic spot of ancient monuments and buildings.
Enshi Tusi City, also known as Mowei Tower, is an imitation of the ancient Tusi manor building. It was built near the original site and has really disappeared for a long time. It takes about 2 hours to visit the whole place, and there are many roads to climb up and down.
The scenic spots include 12 scenic areas and more than 30 scenic spots. Unfortunately, the Tusi Palace area is under renovation, and all you can see are scaffoldings... It's a mess. If you are short on time, you can just pass this place. It's still okay to stroll around the minority-style street park when you have nothing to do.
In 2018, Tusi City was under repair. I was disappointed when I went there. From the angle of the scenic spot, it looked like scaffolding or fence construction. Tusi City is not big and it takes about an hour to walk through it. If you walk through every place slowly, 2-3 hours is enough. If you want to understand the culture, just hire an interpreter and watch it yourself. It's not interesting. There are only two floors.
Visit duration: 2-3 hours
After entering, there were not as many people as I imagined, but many places in Tusi City are still under construction, so the roads are narrow and a bit crowded.
Don’t underestimate Tusi City. It has many stairs, which is a bit tiring for someone like me who doesn’t exercise.
It's a small artificial park. There's a security guard checking tickets at the entrance. The drainage of the city wall is very poor, and there are all kinds of water accumulation. I really don't recommend it. The surrounding area is also very dilapidated. When I went there, many places were under repair.
This attraction is not big. When I went there during the National Day holiday, Tusi City was under maintenance, so it was not convenient to take photos in many places.
In the 4th hall of Tusi City, there is a stilt house with upstairs and downstairs on each side. The left side is for food storage, and the Tusi’s parents live upstairs. The right side is for gold, silver and jewelry storage, and the Tusi’s robbed women live upstairs. I didn’t take a picture, the dark wooden stilt house has no special features. You can imagine it yourself...
The recommended playing time is 1 hour. Suggestions: 1. Find a guide who speaks standard Mandarin. 2. The scenic area is under renovation. I think the scenic area is very cool. There is still a wall under the feet of everyone playing.
I went there on the first day of National Day. Most places were under renovation and there were a lot of people.
When we went there, many places were still being renovated and refurbished, and there were no performances. Well...how should I put it, it was a bit disappointing.
It is located in Enshi city. It was originally a nice building, but it is a bit messy due to maintenance. It is really not worth the 45 yuan ticket to go in and visit.
Enshi Tusi City is located in Enshi City. It is an important scenic spot that showcases the culture and history of the Tujia people. It includes the Tusi City Gate Tower, Wind and Rain Bridge, Linjun Hall, the Nine-Entrance Hall of the Tusi Palace, the Tusi City Wall, the Bell and Drum Tower and other attractions. It takes 2 hours to visit.
Enshi Tusi City is located in the urban area of Enshi. You can take bus No. 31 from Enshi Railway Station to get there in half an hour. The ticket price is 45 yuan.
Walk slowly and leisurely, enjoying the comfort of the breeze on your face, climb to the highest bell tower, sit for a long time, and then regret not having a pot of good tea.
The Tujia song and dance performance on the ancient stage was quite professional. The key point was that I only paid for a cup of tea.
If you want to watch the singing and dancing performances, you must reserve a seat in advance. If you go late, you will have to stand. One seat per tea, 50 yuan for the first row, 20 yuan for the second row, and free for N rows.
Tusi City is under repair and many scenic spots are closed, so this attraction is a bit of a rip-off, but since you are here, you might as well take it. When you come to Enshi, you have to take a look at Tusi City.
There's nothing fancy inside, and the 40 yuan ticket is not worth it.
This is where the Tusi stationed in Enshi lived and worked. Although later generations have rebuilt a lot here, you can still see some characteristic buildings from the Tusi period and learn about some Tusi culture. There are free performances prepared for tourists in the Jiujintang in Tusi City, or you can enjoy local singing and dancing performances. From the backyard of Jiujintang, you can reach the walls and towers of Tusi City. The rafters in the hall are still very distinctive, and they all show the wisdom of the ancient working people, which is stable and beautiful. Standing on the tower of Tusi City, you can see the winding walls on the surrounding hills. Inside the walls is the quaint Tusi City, and outside the walls is the modern Enshi City. There are also foreign-style buildings and small villas next to it. When you open the gate, you can see Tusi City, and the scenery is also good.
Enshi Tusi City, also known as Mowei Tower. Enshi Tusi City is located in the northwest of Enshi City, in a small place called Duishan Bay, 500 meters away from the city government. It is a folk scenic spot of garden landscapes and buildings of ancient monuments and buildings. It is a Tujia area antique Tusi manor building complex designed by Suzhou Garden Design Institute and built by local folk artists by the Enshi State Ethnic Affairs Commission to implement the development strategy of "ecological tourism state and ethnic customs park" proposed by the Enshi State Committee and the State People's Government. It is the only Tujia area Tusi cultural landmark project in the country with the largest scale, the most magnificent project, the most unique style and the most beautiful landscape. Unfortunately, it was under construction when I went there, which affected my viewing experience.
A Tusi City is Half of Tujia History
Suitable for a rest and stroll, no need to spend half a day strolling
Tusi City is an imitation of ancient architecture. The main attractions are Tujia architecture and folk customs, a panoramic view of Enshi from the city wall, and performances. We took a flight at night and came here to kill time in the afternoon. If you are in a hurry, you don't have to come to Tusi City. There is an exhibition hall that displays the stories of Tusi of Rongmei (now Rongmei Town, Hefeng County) throughout the ages.
We kept going up to the commanding heights to take panoramic views of Tusi City. We climbed the city wall to see the beacon tower and bell tower and took panoramic views of Enshi. The view of Enshi from the city wall was pretty good. The bell tower on the city wall in the distance, the second and third floors of the bell tower can be viewed, and it is one of the best viewing spots on the city wall.
It has local characteristics, but the overall feeling is just so-so.
The hotel I stayed in on the first night in Enshi was inside the Tusi City Courtyard. So I arrived in Enshi at noon, had lunch, and then took a leisurely tour of the Tusi City. It felt good to be unhurried! It has local characteristics. Unlike the deep courtyards in the north, it is like a small fortress, with walls and courtyards built according to the mountain terrain.
2 words: disappointed, 3 words: very disappointed. I originally planned to play for an afternoon, but ended up playing for more than an hour. Jiujintang was under renovation and there were no performances.
Most of the Tusi City is under repair, the ground is full of yellow sand, it is not recommended to visit
Enshi Tusi City is located in the northwest of Enshi City, in a place called Tusi Road, 500 meters away from the city government. It is the only Tusi cultural landmark project in the Tujia area in China with the largest scale, the most magnificent project, the most unique style and the most beautiful landscape.
When I went there, Tusi City was under repair, and there was yellow sand everywhere, which really affected the appearance. It should be officially opened after the repairs are completed. But the ticket price was not reduced by a penny, and the staff of the scenic spot was a bit unkind.
The local emperor’s house was of course very spectacular. There were dragons coiled on the pillars, which was very impressive. The silver ornaments were also very exquisite and the architecture was very distinctive.
Enshi Tusi City (also known as Mowei Tower), located in the northwest of Enshi City, is the only Tusi cultural landmark project in the country with the largest scale, the most magnificent engineering, the most unique style and the most beautiful landscape in the Tujia area. It includes gatehouses, Dong ethnic group wind and rain bridges, Linjun Temple, parade grounds, Tujia folk houses, Tusi Palace - Jiujin Hall, city walls, bell towers, drum towers, Hundred Flowers Garden, White Tiger Statue, Crouching Tiger Iron Bridge, Tingtao Teahouse, National Art Garden and more than 30 attractions. (Ticket price 50 yuan/person)
When you enter Enshi Tusi City, you will see a towering Tusi City Gate Tower. The Tusi City Gate Tower is also called Tusi Chaomen or Guanlou, and is a memorial building that shows the Tusi's majesty and merits. It pays great attention to the solemnity and magnificence of the appearance, and the architectural content embodies the humanistic thoughts, spatial concepts and technical wisdom of the Tujia people. There are special Tujia song and dance performances here every day. If you want to sit in the middle of the second floor, you need to buy a seat separately, and the price varies depending on the location.
It's under repair everywhere and there are stalls selling small commodities inside.
There are also people who use ordinary temple turtles to impersonate thousand-year-old sacred turtles to cheat people out of money.
I'm really upset after coming all this way.
This is a landmark building of Tujia culture, where you can learn about the long history and exquisite architectural art of the Tujia people.
Tusi City is nice and the tickets are not expensive. It is best to go early in the morning. There are not many parking spaces. It is best to buy tickets online in advance.
One of the attractions in Enshi City, it was built with Tusi culture as the background. The style imitates the royal city of the Tusi leader in the past. The architectural style has a strong ethnic minority cultural atmosphere. There are two Tujia song and dance performances every day, which is very lively.
Tusi City is not big and can be visited in one or two hours. The highlight is the daily performances!
The core of Tusi City is the "Jiujintang". In fact, this building was moved from other places. Cultural landscapes require guides. There are tour groups everywhere. You can listen to the tour guides' free explanations. And you can listen to different versions several times. Jiujintang has a performance in the morning and afternoon. You can call the scenic spot in advance to inquire. After watching Jiujintang, you can climb up the wall of the back mountain to look back at the whole Tusi City. It feels domineering. You don't have to walk the whole wall of Tusi City. In addition, there is a performance in the morning and afternoon. Don't miss it.
In general, it is worth a visit, after all, it is quaint and has good performances.
Tickets are 50. The scenic area is not very big, and it is recommended to spend about two hours.
The main gate was under repair at the time, and after entering, it was 5 minutes along the road to the ninth gate. After entering, there was a Tujia performance, which was quite interesting.
Keep walking inside and you can reach the highest point to take a picture of the whole Tusi City.
It feels similar to the ancient town. After coming out of the ninth gate, there is a small path on the left where you can go up to see the city wall, but I was not very interested so I did not climb it.
It's quite unique and has never been seen in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. You can go and have a look. Tickets are 51, buy online one day in advance for 40
We also had a guide (80 yuan, to take us around Tusi City). Without a guide, you would have no idea what you were visiting, so it was necessary to have a guide. Unfortunately, I didn’t remember much in the end... It took about 2 hours to complete the tour of Tusi City.
Enshi Tusi City is located in the urban area of Enshi. Here, you can learn about the history of Tujia culture. It is currently the largest, most magnificent, most unique and most beautiful Tujia Tusi City in China. Approaching it, it seems as if you are seeing a microcosm of the Tujia social culture and material culture.
There are many attractions worth visiting in Tusi City, so if you have enough time, you can set aside about 3 hours to understand the essence of Tusi culture.
The Tusi City is very distinctive. It may be because it is under renovation, and it is a mess everywhere... The stairs are very steep. It is a bit difficult to walk if it is rainy. The road is narrow, and there are few fences and handrails. The beacon tower and bell tower are tall, and the guardrails only reach the thighs of adults. I hope that in addition to building new attractions crazily, the scenic area will also improve safety measures.
The government office of the Tujia chieftain at that time still seemed to have quite a bit of regional characteristics.
I flew from Shenzhen to Chongqing and then took the high-speed rail to Enshi, but I still managed to squeeze out half a day. It was a rare opportunity to travel, so I wanted to visit more places. If I checked in at the hotel and then came out, it would be dark, so I decided to go directly to Enshi Tusi City. Fortunately, the rain had subsided a lot when I arrived at Tusi City. Enshi Tusi City is also a famous cultural and architectural classic, but I prefer natural scenery, so I didn't have high expectations for it, but I still felt full of gains after the visit. Enshi Tusi City is located in a place called Duishan Bay in the northwest of the city. It is the largest and most magnificent Tusi City in the country. The entrance is not very conspicuous. There is only a towering and magnificent gatehouse, Mowei Tower. When you walk into the gatehouse, you can see the Dong ethnic group's wind and rain bridge. I checked the information that Enshi Tusi belongs to the Tujia family. Why is there a Dong ethnic group wind and rain bridge inside? I don't know if it was added later. Going further in is the Linjun Temple, where the Tujia ancestor Linjun Bawuxiang is enshrined. Further in, there are the training grounds for Tusi soldiers and Tujia residential buildings. The core building of Enshi Tusi City is Jiujintang, which is equivalent to the Tusi City Palace. It is composed of 333 pillars, 333 stone column bases, 330 doors, more than 90 windows, thousands of carved wooden windows, thousands of purlins, and tens of thousands of rafters. It is 99.99 meters deep, 33 meters wide, and has a total construction area of 3,999 square meters. It is a rare wooden structure with pure mortise and tenon joints in China. Climbing to the highest point of Jiujintang is also the best place to take pictures. You can take a bird's-eye view of the entire Jiujintang. Looking up, the pavilions, corners, eaves and claws are scattered up and down, showing the majestic, majestic and magnificent. Originally, I had only expected so much, and there was nothing that surprised me too much. But when I turned out from the side door of Jiujintang, I found that there was a winding city wall behind me. I climbed up the steps to the city wall and looked out at the surroundings that stretched on the nearby hills to protect the Tusi City. It was very interesting to take a walk. The Tusi City Wall is 2,320 meters long and 1.2 meters wide. It was built according to the terrain of the mountain. It is winding and magnificent. There are also bell towers and drum towers standing on the city wall. Although it is far less magnificent than the Great Wall, it looks quite spectacular at first glance. I decided to walk around the city wall. When I walked to the distance of the city wall, I saw that the abandoned Crouching Tiger Iron Chain Bridge had been closed. Going down the stairs next to the suspension bridge, I saw the Hundred Flowers Garden and Tingtao Teahouse. Walking out of the valley is the gate of Tusi City. This route arrangement can be regarded as taking in the essence of Tusi City.
The legendary Tusi City
Unique and distinctive
The scenery is more refreshing in the rain
The scenery from a high place is really beautiful. The beacon tower is built like the Great Wall. It is a good choice to visit Enshi in this drizzling weather. The ticket is 50 yuan and the student ID is half price. There are performances inside. If you go by yourself, you can also follow other people's guides. I arrived in Lichuan today and set off for the Grand Canyon tomorrow morning.
The ticket to Tusi City is 50 yuan. It is very conveniently located in the city and can be visited in half a day. The main attractions are Jiujintang and the Great Wall. Don't miss the free singing and dancing performances at 10 am and 3 pm, which last about an hour.
Enshi Tusi City is located in the northwest of Enshi City. It includes 12 scenic areas and more than 30 scenic spots, including the gatehouse, Dong ethnic group wind and rain bridge, Linjun Temple, parade ground, Tujia folk houses, Tusi palace - Jiujintang, city wall, bell tower, drum tower, Hundred Flowers Garden, White Tiger Statue, Crouching Tiger Iron Bridge, Tingtao Teahouse, National Art Garden, etc. The whole Tusi City is not big, the scenery is not bad, the architecture is quite distinctive, there are many green landscapes with mountains and water, and the scenery on the top floor is of course the best as you go up layer by layer in Jiujintang. There are two folk song and dance performances every day, each one hour, starting at three o'clock in the afternoon. There are seats on the second floor, charged according to distance, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Enshi City, man-made attractions, strong sense of history!
It was packed with people on November 11th. I really don't know whether to see the scenery or the people... Compared with the Grand Canyon, Sobuya and the ancient riverbed of Qingjiang River, there are not many people. Tusi City is a must-see attraction for tour groups. Parents with children are advised to avoid it when there are many people. The stairs on the city wall are very steep, so be careful when walking.
Tickets are 50, and it's advertised as a four-star hotel. After walking around, I felt it was old and not well maintained. The suspension bridge is closed now, and there are not many people. It's still OK for taking photos, so it's worth three stars.
After I came back I realized that it was a replica built by later generations, so I lost a lot of points, but you can still go and see it and learn about the history of Tujia chieftains.
Generally speaking, as a Tusi culture theme scenic spot, it does not interpret Tusi culture well, and some are just imitation buildings.
The buildings in Enshi Tusi City were moved from other places, but they are helpful for understanding Tujia culture and are suitable for a casual walk.
Tusi City is in the city and public transportation is very convenient. Of course, it is necessary to find a tour guide for such a scenic spot so that you can better understand the characteristics and stories of the former Tusi Kingdom.

Tusi City is a complex of ancient Tusi manor buildings, which aims to reproduce the politics, economy and culture of the Tusi period in the Tujia area, reflect the historical origins of the Tujia people, and show the ancient and simple folk customs of the Tujia people. The tour takes about 2 hours.
There is a stone tablet at the entrance, depicting the appearance of the entire Tusi City.
The Fengyu Bridge not only protects against wind and rain, but also provides a beautiful landscape.
Linjun Temple - in memory of Linjun, the ancestor highly respected by the Tujia people
As you step into the doorway, you will see a memorial to the Lord of the Temple. Under the stone tablet is a tortoise.
There is an archery range in the scenic area.
Next to the bamboo forest is the highlight of Tusi City - Jiujintang, a Tujia stilt house.
There are Tujia song and dance performances on the Jiujintang stage every afternoon at 2:30.
The youngest girl of the Tujia ethnic group is beautiful and has a beautiful voice. I really like their clothes.
Jiujin Hall is built on the mountain, and some of the stairs are very steep.
The highest point of the mountain is a defensive building, similar to the walls and beacon towers of the Great Wall.
Standing on the wall, you can overlook the city of Enshi.
Tusi City, also known as Mowei Tower, includes gatehouses, Dong ethnic group wind and rain bridges, Linjun Temple, parade grounds, Tujia folk houses, Tusi Palace--Jiujin Hall, city walls, bell towers, drum towers, Hundred Flowers Garden, White Tiger Statue, Crouching Tiger Iron Bridge, Tingtao Teahouse, National Art Garden and other attractions. Walking into Tusi City, there is a strong atmosphere of the ancient city. Start playing from the right side and you will first pass the wind and rain bridge. When we went there, it was raining in the sun, and the wind and rain bridge looked very bright and beautiful in the halo. After crossing the wind and rain bridge, there is a thin stone road. There are many stone holes on the stone walls beside the road. Each stone hole will have small water columns of varying sizes, and the water flow is very cool. The ancient city wall embraces the entire Tusi City. Walking up the city wall, a sense of age comes to your face, and your heart is mixed with excitement and novelty. Continue forward and you will reach the bell tower. The Tusi Chaodian Bell is located on the third floor. The bell sound is heavy, and there is a strong sense of ritual when it is struck. Unfortunately, there were too many children on the top floor, and I was embarrassed to squeeze with them, so I didn't go to knock. There is also the Crouching Tiger Iron Cable Bridge. For some reason, the cable bridge cannot be passed, so we didn't go to the other end of the cable bridge. Soon, we went down the city wall and returned to the fork in the road where we first entered the city tower. Entering from the left intersection, you will pass by the Temple of the Lord of the Jun and other places in turn. There is also a "thousand-year-old turtle", but you can't touch it or take pictures. In addition, there will be singing and dancing performances by locals at 10 am and 3 pm, which is very lively and worth seeing!
PS: The ticket price is 50, student tickets are half price, and children and people over 70 years old can get free tickets with relevant certificates.
It is recommended to wear slippers or sandals to play in the water, which is very cool.
Enshi Tusi City is not at the same level as Xianfeng Tusi City. The area in Enshi City is small, with antique buildings and many tourists, which is not very good. Xianfeng Tangya Tusi City is worthy of attention: it was rated as a World Cultural Heritage in 2015. It is the third World Heritage in Hubei Province and the first World Heritage in Enshi Prefecture. It has gone through the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties and is the most representative Tusi site of ethnic minorities in Hubei, Chongqing, Hunan and Guizhou from the 14th to the 18th century. There are "Jingnan Xiongzhen" stone archway, a 400-year-old Metasequoia tree, also known as the husband and wife tree, as well as the bridge on the bridge, three streets and eighteen lanes and thirty-six courtyards, Tusi tombs and other relics. Although it is far from Enshi, it is also worth a look! You can take a bus from Enshi to Xianfeng, the whole journey is on the highway, 1.5 hours and 45 yuan, and then take a minibus from Xianfeng to the Tusi City ruins, 9 yuan. It is worth paying attention to the round trip on the same day!
