One of the most important temples in Wuhan, it is known as one of the four major monasteries in Wuhan together with Baotong Temple, Xilian Temple and Zhengjue Temple.
Coming to Guiyuan Temple to pray for blessings is a daily custom for many Wuhan citizens. Every year on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims come here to be the first to burn incense.
Enter the Arhat Hall and start from any Arhat. Count backwards in order until your actual age. The identity, expression and action of the Arhat you count will indicate your destiny.

Guiyuan Temple can be reached directly by subway. There will be a sign at the exit of the subway. Walk out and walk about 800 meters, and you can see Guiyuan Temple. The ticket is 10 yuan per person, cash only, cash!!! There are volunteers who give explanations, and the explanations are very good. You can hear a lot of things with the volunteers. What you must do when you come to Guiyuan Temple is to go to the Luohan Hall to count the Luohan. If you don’t encounter the explanation, there is also a counting method at the entrance of the Luohan Hall. Just follow your heart. I went around a lot before I found the Luohan that suits me best. Remember that the Luohan you count can buy a Buddha amulet for 20 yuan each, cash only!!! Cash!!! If you want to explain the Buddha amulet, it is 100 yuan, but I didn’t go. The sentences on the Buddha amulet are absolutely easy to understand, just understand it according to the meaning. The turtles in the pond just after entering Guiyuan Temple are very interesting to bask in the sun, and many people are watching. You can take more small photos. The last time I saw a turtle basking in the sun was at the White Horse Temple in Luoyang. In fact, I personally think that the words on the amulets are still useful. Friends who have time can go to Guiyuan Temple for a visit.
I got up in the morning and the weather was very good, so I went to Guiyuan Temple. Guiyuan Temple was the main task today. During the May Day holiday, the number of people was not bad. I bought a ticket and went in directly. There was a person offering incense at the door. I burned incense directly at the entrance.
After burning incense, I walked around. The Sutra Library was really charming. I even worshipped the Goddess of Childbirth by mistake.... (No wonder there were only women in it. I haven't realized it yet)
You can count the Arhats in Guiyuan Zen Temple. As the name suggests, there are 500 Arhats in total. You start from the one that you have a predestined relationship with, and count until you reach your age. The last Arhat you count is your Arhat, and you can take it to interpret the fortune. There is a golden treasure in Guiyuan Temple. I first knew about the golden treasure in Beijing, and the things inside were very exquisite. I have always wanted to come to Guiyuan Temple to see this one. Compared with the golden treasures in Beijing, this Guiyuan Temple is quite affordable. There are those that are very valuable, and there are also those for the general public.
Located at the west end of Cuiwei Street, Hanyang, Wuhan. Built by Master Bai Guang in the 15th year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1658 AD), it is known as the "most spiritual temple in the world for praying for blessings". It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction, a national key Buddhist temple, the seat of the Hubei Buddhist Association and the Wuhan Buddhist Association, and one of the key cultural relics protection units in Hubei Province and famous tourist attractions. It is known as the "Four Great Forests" of Wuhan Buddhism together with Baotong Zen Temple, Gude Temple and Lianxi Temple. Tickets are 10 yuan.
Guiyuan Temple is super spiritual. I came here by accident on the birthday of Guanyin Bodhisattva. I made a wish to have a girlfriend, but on the bus on the way back, a girl fell asleep on my shoulder... I was shocked, and a week later I got a girlfriend... Later I did not come to fulfill my wish, and the result was also tragic. She and I were just a beautiful accident.
As a Wuhan native, this is a place I go back to often. Unlike ordinary tourists, whenever I feel restless or in a bad mood, I will go to Guiyuan Temple alone to calm my mind, take a walk in the temple, listen to our volunteers explaining the origin and history of Guiyuan Temple over and over again, and then go to the library of Guiyuan Temple to copy some scriptures. I heard that copying scriptures can also pray for all living beings. No matter what, I hope that myself and all my friends will be better!
Guiyuan Temple is named after the Buddhist scripture "Guiyuan is one and there are many ways to achieve it", which means that all things return to their origin.
Tickets must be purchased in cash, and student ID cards are not supported.
Please refer to the travel notes for the time and location of the voluntary explanation
In addition to burning incense and praying for blessings, the most famous thing in the Zen temple is counting arhats. Counting arhats is an interesting folk custom in Wuhan, which has a history of more than 100 years. Many people come here specifically to "count arhats". As for whether counting arhats is effective, there is no need to be too superstitious or obsessed. After all, Buddhist culture is profound and extensive. Counting arhats as a folk custom is an interesting thing to do after visiting the temple.
I went there on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year. There were not many people and it felt good.
The Buddhist temple is not peaceful, but it charges 20. Amitabha, good and good.
It is the most famous Buddhist temple in Wuhan, but for me, the hamsters I bought next to it are still the most important.
Travel suggestions: There are free tour guide times marked at the entrance of the scenic area. You can better understand Guiyuan Temple by following the tour guide (although the tour guide will take you to the souvenir shop, if you don’t want to buy, you can just leave).
The third day of National Day is when the tourist flow is the largest, but there are not many tourists here, and there are only three or four people waiting in line to buy tickets.
It seems that the paint on the walls of Guiyuan Temple is different every time. From the pictures on the Internet, it looked white a few years ago, but now it has been painted yellow.
The best place to take photos and check in is the gate of the scenic area.
The staff will hand out three free incense sticks to each visitor when they enter the door, and they can light incense in front of the incense burner as an offering.
The release pond at Guiyuan Temple is really a magical place. When I first entered the courtyard, I was wondering why so many people were gathered around to look at the carved stone lotus in the pond. When I took a closer look, my God, I was shocked!
I thought the lotuses were some sculptures with patterns, but they turned out to be real turtles...
The turtles lie on the lotus petals, stretching their necks towards the sun, and keep the same position for a long time. However, the big turtles often kick down the small turtles that have finally climbed up, and occupy the best position.
I heard from the explanation that many people liked to release red-eared sliders here in the past, but because red-eared sliders are carnivorous and will eat the fish in the pond, this would be killing them and go against the original intention of setting up the "release pond", so releasing them is no longer allowed nowadays.
There is a blessing bell next to the osmanthus tree, 5 yuan for 3 rings. I personally think the bell in the temple is very pleasant. There are many small turtles basking in the sun in the release pond, and there are also many koi. Coming out of the Luohan Hall is the Guanyin statue.
After buying the ticket and entering, everyone can get three incense sticks. Since you are not allowed to bring in incense, you can only pray outside. As the place is simple and there are no mats for worshipping, most people worship while standing. The more sincere pilgrims will kneel down to worship.
There is a small pond in the temple. There is an Arhat Hall on the right side of the pond. There are four large Buddha statues at the door. There are a lot of Arhats in the hall. It is said that if you think of a number in your heart and walk in regardless of the direction, you will count the Arhats. The Arhat you count will look like you. Friends who are interested may wish to try it~ There is a place selling Arhat cards outside the Arhat Hall, and there is also an Arhat Card Interpretation Center~ After leaving the Arhat Hall, you will see the double-sided Guanyin not far away. You can burn incense and worship on both sides of this Guanyin~ When you see the Guanyin on the side, walk out of the Arhat Hall to the exit. Remember that you can't come in again after leaving the scenic area. You have to buy a ticket again, so think clearly~
Guiyuan Temple is a highlight of the trip to Wuhan. It is well preserved with ancient charm and is recommended for a visit.
The ticket is 10 yuan. There is a kind old lady offering incense to you at the entrance. Compared with other commercialized temples, the entrance is already very good. It is very quiet inside. Guiyuan means returning to the origin and meditating on life here. There are many voluntary explanations, which can systematically understand the knowledge of several sects of Buddhism; the green and turtle in the release pond, the huge double-faced Guanyin, and of course the mysterious Luohan Hall. I just got lost after entering. Each Luohan has a personality. But later, I was in a hurry and regretted that I didn’t count my own Luohan and interpret the fortune. When it is hot, there are huge electric fans in several halls to blow.
The characteristics of Guiyuan Temple include the Sutra Library and the Hall of 500 Arhats.
The Hall of Five Hundred Arhats is its special feature, but the rest is not much different from other Buddhist temples.
I went there at noon, and the sun was very strong. The ticket cost 10 yuan. It costs 20 yuan on other holidays. Yuantong Pavilion is very magnificent. I really want to go up and take a look. It's a pity that it is not open.
The most distinctive temple in Wuhan is Guiyuan Temple, also known as Guiyuan Temple for short. It belongs to Caodong Sect, one of the five southern Zen sects. It is known as one of the four major monasteries in Wuhan together with Baotong Temple, Xilian Temple and Gude Temple.
In addition to burning incense, worshipping Buddha and making wishes, the temple also has a most fun "game" - counting the arhats! Speaking of the Arhat Hall, there is a folk proverb: "There is Baoguang (Chengdu) above, Xiyuan (Suzhou) below, Biyun (Beijing) in the north, and Guiyuan (Wuhan) in the middle." This means that the 500 Arhat Halls of these four temples are the most representative and the essence of the Buddhist 500 Arhat statue art.
The scale of the Arhat Hall is far beyond my imagination. I have visited many temples, but this is the first time I have seen such a large hall and such magnificent Arhat sculptures. Walking into the Arhat Hall, I was moved by their vivid images. Some were sitting cross-legged, some were lying on stones looking at the sky, some were studying Buddhist scriptures, and some were exorcising evil spirits. In terms of expression, some were brave, some were gentle, some were innocent and honest, and some were experienced. Each one was vivid and lifelike.
At the Luohan number matching area, tell the staff the Luohan number you counted, pay 20 yuan, and you can get a Luohan single piece.
In addition to counting the Arhats, there is also an interesting legend: if you burn incense to the Arhats, one stick of incense for each Arhat, which is exactly 500 sticks; but if you count them one by one, you can only count out 499.
One of the most striking things about Guiyuan Temple is that its architectural style is not very consistent with other temples. It does not have a neat and symmetrical grand pattern, and is even a little messy.
Guiyuan Temple has 28 existing halls and pavilions. It was built by Master Baiguang and Master Zhufeng on the site of the Kuiyuan Garden of Ming Dynasty poet Wang Zhangfu. The main building is divided into two courtyards. The outer courtyard is mainly composed of gatehouses, courtyards, and ponds. The inner courtyard consists of three main buildings: the Sutra Pavilion in the north courtyard, the Great Hall in the middle courtyard, and the Arhat Hall in the south courtyard, as well as the Heavenly King Hall and the Ksitigarbha Hall.
In addition, the giant double-faced Guanyin statue is an important symbol of Guiyuan Temple. The Yuantong Pavilion next to it is where the Guanyin Bodhisattvas of all generations are enshrined. The Guanyin Bodhisattvas with different appearances and forms here will definitely subvert the general public's understanding of Guanyin Bodhisattva.
In short, Guiyuan Temple has many differences from traditional Buddhist temples. Don’t miss Guiyuan Temple when you visit Wuhan.
Guiyuan Temple is named after the Shurangama Sutra: "The nature of Guiyuan is the same, but there are many ways to get there." It is similar to other temples, with a main hall, a Sutra Library, and a Yuantong Pavilion at the back, as well as a double-faced Guanyin statue.
The general ticket price for Guiyuan Temple is 10 yuan. The temple was established in 1658 and is one of the four major monasteries in Wuhan.
I go to Guiyuan Temple every year to count the Arhats. After counting, I buy the corresponding Arhat Cards, which cost 10 yuan each. After buying them, I use Baidu to interpret the divinations myself. It is very detailed.
If you like Buddhist culture, you can go and have a look. There are the Main Hall, Arhat Hall, etc. Of course, you need to know some common sense or allusions of Chinese Buddhism to make it more interesting, such as: What is the mountain gate? Which Buddha or Bodhisattva is enshrined in the Heavenly King Hall, Bell and Drum Tower, Side Hall and Main Hall of the Zen Temple?
Guiyuan Temple is one of the temples with the most Buddha statues in China. There are 500 golden statues of Arhats inside. When you get there, many people are counting Arhats, as if they are looking for one that is similar to themselves or has a connection with them, and then they can ask for divination or something like that. Because my family is a Buddhist, we are a little bit averse to taking photos, so we didn’t take many photos inside the temple. It can be described as a different world inside. Even on rainy days, the incense is still burning. The cutest thing is to see a little girl lying in front of the Buddha statue and shouting in a baby voice, "Wish you good luck and prosperity~"
Guiyuan Temple was built by Master Bai Guang in the 15th year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1658 AD). It belongs to the Caodong Sect, one of the five schools and seven sects of Zen Buddhism, so it is called Guiyuan Temple; it is also called "Hanxiyijing" because of its towering ancient trees and lush flowers and trees. At certain times, there will be tour guides to lead the tour. If you are interested, you can go in and ask. I followed the tour guides and listened to them twice. I learned a lot about Master Changming, the old abbot of Guiyuan Temple. The old abbot's fortune, wealth, longevity and happiness contain too much Zen. The most impressive thing is a calligraphy written by the old abbot: Ask the Buddha why he sits upside down because people in the world are unwilling to look back
Guiyuan Ancient Temple - Hanxi
Guiyuan Temple, named after the Buddhist scripture "the nature of returning to the origin is one, and there are many ways to convenience", was built in the 15th year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty. Baotong Zen Temple, Gude Temple and Lianxi Temple are collectively known as the "Four Great Monasteries" of Wuhan Buddhism.
Guiyuan Temple consists of three distinctive courtyards: the North Courtyard, the Middle Courtyard and the South Courtyard. It has three main buildings: the Sutra Library, the Main Hall and the Arhat Hall, covering an area of more than 17,500 square meters.
The main building of the North Courtyard is the Sutra Library, with five-bay pavilion-style buildings on both sides, about 25 meters high, with a large ridge on the top, fish-shaped claws, flying arches and eaves, which are simple and exquisite; four pillars reach the sky, with two phoenixes facing the sun and five dragons playing with a pearl.
We went there the day before the snow melted. The white snow on the eaves was very beautiful. However, the great Bodhisattva was not covered in any white. There was nothing we could do about it. The beautiful scenery that we ordinary mortals hope for is probably not in the Pure Land!
The ticket price is 10 yuan, which is very affordable. The environment is good, but the toilet is hard to find. You need to have good eyesight to follow the signs. There are many people, and they all look very pious, which creates a great atmosphere.
Located in Jianghan District, the temple is always popular. There is a huge ancient bell in the temple, and more than 100 gold-plated Buddha statues stand on both sides of the lobby. Visitors can silently recite a number in their hearts, and then find the corresponding Buddha statue number before asking for the Buddha gold foil. There is a statue of Guanyin several tens of meters high in the square outside the temple, and the wall is inscribed with the powerful characters "Namo Amitabha". There is a lotus-shaped pond in the courtyard of the temple, and many turtles are around the pond.
This is the most popular temple in downtown Wuhan. There is a plaque inside with words written by Li Yuanhong, the first president of the Republic of China. When I went there, a double-faced statue of Guanyin was still under construction, overlooking all living beings in a square, which was quite imposing.
I don't take pictures in the temple. To be honest, it's really ordinary. The small green area next to it is pretty good. I really think it's a bit expensive. Locals all go in and out through the small door in the alley on the right side of the temple. Forget it, just consider it as incense money for the temple...
Count the Luohan, and when you reach the Luohan corresponding to your age, go to ask for a fortune, and then interpret it. Before counting, you must think about what you want, and then interpret it!
Guiyuan Temple is the most famous temple in Wuhan. It has a long history and is popular with visitors. The ticket is 10 yuan. The scenery inside is worth seeing. The white walls, green trees, clear water and red fish are very beautiful. The ancient temple is also very interesting. Amitabha!
Like the Xiyuan Temple in Suzhou, there is the Arhat Hall, which is interesting to count and has kittens! The ticket is 10 yuan. Some buildings have been expanded at the back. There are many fortune-telling aunties at the door, which are particularly difficult to deal with. Be careful.
Guiyuan Zen Temple is very popular.
My heart is sincere and I long for it.
Visiting during the New Year,
A new atmosphere of peace and prosperity for the country and the people.
The Arhat statue and Guanyin statue in Guiyuan Temple are both worth seeing.
I really can't praise this attraction, but the ticket price is cheap and you have plenty of time, so you can come and have a look. There is no need to come here specially. The only thing that is a bit shocking is the large number of Luohan. There are a lot of them in the room.
There is an attic, I don't remember if it's called Guiyuan Tower, it's not open to the public, but the exterior is pretty nice, the interior is not big and you can go around it in about half an hour, there are not many things to see, if you are not a Buddhist, there is no need to come here, if you want to take pictures, you might as well go to Gude Temple, it will definitely surprise you
There is a Youyou Stone Cake near Guiyuan Temple that is a must-see in all travel guides. I went there just for this, but when I got there I found it was closed, so I just went to Guiyuan Temple for a walk... Afterwards, when I talked about this place with my friends in Wuhan, they all thought it was not worth visiting, just like the Yellow Crane Tower. So even though I stayed in Wuhan for so long, I didn't plan to go to the Yellow Crane Tower.
Guiyuan Temple in Hanyang is located on the west side of Cuiwei Road, Hanyang District, Wuhan City. In the 15th year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1658), it was founded by monks Bai Guang and Zhu Feng from Zhejiang Province. The name "Guiyuan" comes from the Buddhist scripture "Lingyan Sutra" "There is no other way to return to the origin, but there are many ways to facilitate". Guiyuan means returning to the truth, which means transcending the realm of birth and death and returning to the true and quiet origin. In Buddhism, Guiyuan Temple belongs to Caodong Sect (one of the five schools and seven sects of Zen Buddhism), so it is also called Guiyuan Zen Temple. It is collectively known as the four major monasteries in Wuhan with Baotong Temple, Xilian Temple and Zhengjue Temple.
If you like to see architecture, you can come and have a look. Unlike common temples, Guiyuan Temple is not a symmetrical three-entry structure, but a temple with a garden-style architecture.
If you like to worship Buddha, you can also come and have a look. It is said that this is a royal temple and is more effective.
There is also a statue of Guanyin that is worth seeing, and there are also hundreds of Arhats, which is quite spectacular!
Guiyuan Temple is the most famous temple in Wuhan, with a strong incense. The architectural layout of Guiyuan Temple is different from that of other temples. The plaques of other temples are horizontal, while Guiyuan Temple is vertical. When you come to Guiyuan Temple, you must count the Arhats.

Together with Baotong Zen Temple, Gude Temple, and Lianxi Temple, it is known as the "Four Great Forests" of Wuhan Buddhism.
If you don't visit Guiyuan Temple, you've wasted your trip to Wuhan.
One of the most famous temples. It is very large and has unique architecture.
I have Buddha in my heart, so I must come here. I recommend it!
Finally, we arrived at the vegetarian restaurant. When I first looked at the menu, I, a carnivore, really thought there were chicken nuggets, Wuchang fish, and shrimp! I thought, the vegetarian menu is fake! When the dishes were served, I realized that I was looking at a fake menu. Although the names were very attractive, they were actually made with vegetarian ingredients. I was so disappointed.
The nearest subway station to Guiyuan Temple is Zhongjiacun. There are shared bicycles available after exiting the station. It takes 3 minutes to ride there, or about 10 minutes to walk there. The ticket price for Guiyuan Temple is 20 yuan. In the past, the floating ticket price was adopted during holidays, but it should be unified now. Three free incense sticks are offered upon entry, and no one outside the temple is allowed to enter.
Guiyuan Temple offers free explanations. If you want to listen to the explanations, please choose the right time and wait in the pavilion in front of the Treasury. The explanations are very detailed and there are many people listening to them. The whole process takes about 40 minutes.
I really like the words of Master Changming, the former abbot of Guiyuan Zen Temple, "If you are always angry, you are definitely not a Bodhisattva." Many times, I, who am not a Buddhist, do act very cautiously in the temple, fearing that I might do something wrong and offend the Bodhisattva. Master Changming's words enlightened me. In the temple, as long as you have a pious heart, you just need to follow your heart and relax. Perhaps this is the true essence of the temple.
The location is easy to find. It is an early temple built in Wuhan. It is very popular and attracts many pilgrims.
This building should be considered a main hall. There are so few people in the picture, not because I photoshopped people away, but because there are indeed not many people. I believe most people choose to go to Guiyuan Temple, either to worship or to sightsee. Before coming to Wuhan, I checked a lot of travel guides. Most people who went to temples mentioned these two temples. Most people prefer Guiyuan, and I myself weighed between the two. In the end, I thought it would be better to go to both. Only by comparing them myself can I know, and I can't just follow the crowd. After the walk, I was glad that I came. Although the place is small and I bought a ticket, I don’t feel that I’m at a loss. The so-called travel is worth it as long as you can gain a certain understanding or feeling in a certain place.
The ticket price is questionable. The encyclopedia says it is 20 yuan, and I did spend 20 yuan to buy a ticket. But I heard that it is only 10 yuan on weekdays. There is a handwritten 20 yuan note at the ticket office. Out of curiosity, I opened it and saw that the number underneath was indeed 10 yuan. I just laughed.
In fact, when you are visiting a place, if you can, it is best to listen to the tour guide's explanation. There are free tour guides during the National Day, so I followed them around. If not, I think it is not just me, many people may not know why the Buddha statue in the picture above is tilted, and why Guanyin is standing on a mermaid instead of a dragon?
Many people who come to Guiyuan Temple particularly like to count the Arhats. This is also the most famous place here. There are indeed many Arhat statues inside, and many people are counting Arhats.
Next, we took the bus to Guiyuan Temple. The ticket was 10 yuan per person, no matter if you were a child, a student, or an elderly person. Buddha is merciful, how could I not feel heartbroken?
The free explanation will make you worship your zodiac god at the end. Everything has changed.
Guiyuan Temple is a very large temple and is worth a visit.
Take the subway to Zhongjia Village and walk to Guiyuan Temple. There are not as many people as during the Spring Festival, but there are still quite a lot of people. The ticket is 10 yuan. After entering, I feel very peaceful and calm. I follow the guide and count the Arhats. There are 500 Arhats in Guiyuan Temple, as well as a double-faced Guanyin. The guide explained the four characters written by the abbot, Fu Lu Shou Xi, which are full of wisdom. Some places in the temple do not allow taking pictures, so I won’t post too many pictures.
At noon, I had Wuhan snacks near Hubu Lane, and immediately took a taxi to Guiyuan Temple. Guiyuan Temple got its name from "Guiyuan is the only way to go, and there are many ways to go". It consists of three courtyards: North Courtyard, South Courtyard and Central Courtyard. The opening hours are 8:30-17:00, and the opening hours will be extended during the Spring Festival every year. I think the ticket price is 10~15 yuan! There are many tourists burning incense and worshiping Buddha, and the whole Guiyuan Temple is filled with smoke!
It's average. Guiyuan Temple has a lot of incense and many people.
After a short rest, we headed straight to Guiyuan Temple and had lunch at a vegetarian restaurant next to the temple! It is very convenient to take the city bus in Wuhan. Guiyuan Temple is not big, and it still takes more than an hour to walk slowly.
It's good, but there are too many small vendors at the entrance.
During festivals, there is an endless stream of people coming to Guiyuan Temple to burn incense and pray for blessings. Hundreds of thousands of people come here to pray for peace and good luck. This is the most popular temple in Wuhan that I have visited, and it is also the temple I have visited the most times, about 7 or 8 times.
There are many bus lines at the entrance of Guiyuan Temple, and the transportation is very convenient. I came here again in May 2016. The stone cakes at the entrance tasted good, and the method was novel. The price was less than 10 yuan, but it was being demolished at the moment. I don’t know if I can still eat it when I come here in the future.
I went there once many, many years ago. I still remember the Buddha card I prayed for when I turned to Luohan. It is still in my wallet.
Guiyuan Zen Temple is located on Guiyuan Temple Road, Hanyang District, Wuhan City. It was built by Master Bai Guang in the 15th year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty. It is known as the four major monasteries of Wuhan together with Baotong Temple, Xilian Temple and Zhengjue Temple. The ticket is 20 yuan, and there are free explanations at fixed times. You can learn many stories about this temple by following the explanation staff. There are many turtles in the release pond, lying quietly on the lotus seat.
Remember not to buy incense outside the temple because you are not allowed to bring it in. They will give each person three incense sticks. If it is not a holiday, the ticket will be cheaper. There are two buildings under construction inside. The vegetarian food inside is not cheap for students, so I haven't tried it. There are quite a lot of people, many elderly people and children enjoying the cool inside.
The explanation is very good; the architectural layout is different from that of ordinary temples and is very distinctive; but the architectural style is very inconsistent, and the overall feeling is a patchwork.
The incense is very popular~~~~108 bronze figures are very imposing
Guiyuan Temple is located on Guiyuan Temple Road, Hanyang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It was built by Master Bai Guang in the 15th year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1658 AD). The place is relatively small, so-so, you can go there if you have enough time

When you go to Wuhan, come to Guiyuan Temple to pray. It is very solemn and magnificent.
A temple located in Hanyang District. The two lions at the entrance are very distinctive and relatively thin. There is also a Hall of Five Hundred Arhats inside.
I have always wanted to come to Guiyuan Temple. I took action during my break this month. Because it is relatively close, I walked there. There are many old ladies selling incense on the road. Just refuse. The last time I came back, I reminded a few tourists and was scolded by the old lady. The weather is good. The fee is 10 yuan per person on weekdays and 20 yuan per person on holidays. You will check your ticket when you enter the door. The staff of the temple will remind you to recycle the incense you bring in. There are three free peace incense sticks provided by the temple. Going further inside is the big incense burner. I followed the crowd and walked around by myself. After counting the Arhats in the Arhat Hall, I walked around and saw the free tour guide. I walked around with the tour guide for about 50 minutes. The tour guide explained well. There were not many people at the beginning, but more people followed slowly. It is recommended to follow the tour guide for a walk. She explained a lot of things that were not clear and I understood them a little. She also explained the rules of counting the Arhats (I counted before she explained). After counting, remember the number of the Arhat you counted, and then find the Arhat card exchange place. Tell him your number and he will give you the corresponding Arhat card for 10 yuan each. If you need to interpret the Arhat cards, buy a ticket opposite the exchange point. There are people who specialize in explaining the temple in the visitor center. Guiyuan Temple is very formal, with detailed charges and no extra charges. There is a merit box when you worship Buddha, and the amount is voluntary. It's pretty good!!!
I didn't know about Guiyuan Temple when I went there, but I saw netizens always recommend going there. I found out when I arrived that it was the temple that was always reported to be smashed by money during the Spring Festival (during the Spring Festival, I paid attention to which province's people got the first incense stick at Lama Temple on the first day of the first lunar month). The ticket is 10 yuan. There are lay Buddhists at the door to give you three sticks of incense. Don't bring in incense from outside. There are free guides. The most interesting thing is to count the arhats (I think it's quite accurate). There is a vegetarian restaurant inside. I really wasn't hungry at the time, so I didn't go in to eat. I can ask for a few words written by the old abbot, which are quite interesting. If you ask for incense, it starts at 680. You are not allowed to take pictures in the temple. Only these few pictures are here
Built in 1658, Guiyuan Temple is based on the Buddhist scripture "Lingyun Sutra". There is only one way to return to the origin, but there are many convenient ways. There is a tradition of #counting arhats# here, and the corresponding arhats are obtained to understand the principles of life (see Figure 4). The temple is also equipped with voluntary interpreters to tell the Buddhists about the details and teachings.
The tickets are very cheap and suitable for believers to go there for worship. It is under renovation now and is said to be expanded. There should be more visitors tomorrow or the year after next. Overall it is good.
Whenever I go to a place, as long as there is a temple, I will usually go and experience it.
It may not look very impressive from the outside, but the Arhat Hall and the Double-Sided Guanyin Square inside are worth seeing.
That’s great. For someone like me who has no faith, doing good is faith.
It was great. I didn't plan to go there at first, but after I went there, I really felt it was worth it. I also bought incense and talismans sold by the old ladies at the door. In fact, they are not allowed to be brought into the temple. When you go inside, the staff will give each person three incense sticks.
Guiyuan Temple is very popular. But for some reason, it is closed at 17:00, but it closed at 16:30. If you want to go, I suggest you calculate the time and leave early.
Tranquility is a kind of inner belonging. Apart from the fixed sales pitches at the entrance of tourist attractions, this attraction is a place worth visiting.

Hanyang【Guiyuan Temple】
~ Era
Guiyuan Temple, located in Hanyang District, was first built during the Shunzhi period of Qing Dynasty. It was destroyed by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom during the Daoguang period, rebuilt during the Xianfeng period, and granted as a royal temple during the Guangxu period.
~Environment
The entrance ticket to the temple is 10 yuan. Enter through the south gate and you will see a pond for releasing animals. The cement lotus is covered with turtles, and there are even many small fish in the middle. The lively fish and the lazy turtles live in harmony and are very happy.
There is a main hall in front of the release pond, with the four characters "Guiyuan Ancient Temple" hanging high. The exterior of the main hall behind it is under repair. The courtyard on the right side of the release pond is the Sutra Pavilion, and next to it is the Linshi Pavilion, which was built during the Republic of China period.
Highlights
The courtyard on the left side of the releasing pond is the Arhat Hall, which is a major attraction of Guiyuan Temple. The Arhat Hall was built during the Daoguang period and rebuilt during the Guangxu period after the destruction of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The 500 Arhats are all golden, with various shapes and lifelike appearance.
~ Luohan
The Arhat is made using a plastic removal process. After the clay sculpture is air-dried, a small hole is left behind it. Cloth and paint are applied to the outside of the clay sculpture to seal it. Clean water is injected from the reserved small hole to melt the clay, and the mud and water flow out of the small hole to form a hollow Buddha statue. Gold foil is then applied to the outside of the Buddha statue.
The gold foil arhats are not afraid of water. After the Arhat Hall was flooded, all the arhats floated on the water, safe and sound.
Guiyuan Temple in Wuhan, Biyun Temple in Beijing, Xiyuan Temple in Suzhou and Baoguang Temple in Chengdu are equally famous and are considered the four best Arhat Halls in Chinese temples.
Outside the Arhat Hall there are clay sculptures of the Four Heavenly Kings. They are brightly colored and cute, much like Q-version characters in cartoons. Under the feet of the four fat heavenly kings, there are several little ghosts carrying their thighs, serving their masters wholeheartedly.
~Outer Courtyard
After leaving the Arhat Hall, behind is the outer courtyard of the temple. In the distance, a huge double-sided statue of Guanyin stands in the spacious outer courtyard. Next to it is a 60-meter-high attic. This is the Yuantong Pavilion built in 2012.
~Transportation
Guiyuan Temple is behind a demolished residential area, about one kilometer away from the subway station. It is not far from Guishan Park and Qintai, and the distance is only the starting price of a taxi. It can be visited together with Hanyang attractions such as Qingchuan Pavilion and Hanyang Art District, and half a day is enough.
