You must go early. If you go late, there will be too many people to see the nets being cast. We arrived at Bridge No. 2 before 6:30. Day 1: Yangtian Lake Grassland



Our group of 16 people arrived at Chenzhou West Station at 10:18. Three drivers were waiting for us at the high-speed train station. They helped us carry our luggage. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery and talked and laughed along the way. After about an hour's drive, we arrived at the farm at Yangtian Lake for lunch (rice field chicken, beef, rice field crucian carp, etc.). After lunch, we continued to drive for more than 10 minutes. What appeared in front of us were endless mountains and valleys, Dutch fairy-tale windmills, and horses and cattle basking in the sun leisurely. Leisurely!!!



Day 2: Fog over Xiaodong River



We set off for Dongjiang Lake at 6am. Xiaodongjiang River is 12km long. The best floating bridges for viewing the scenery are No. 2, 3 and 4. Our tour guide arranged to get off at No. 2 and walk to No. 4 floating bridge. We stepped onto the plank road floating bridge. We immediately felt the beautiful scenery, birdsong and flowers, and the peaceful state! A layer of gauze fluttered in the wind, and the fisherman with a lantern came!



Depart for Feitian Mountain - Gaoyiling at 3 pm



Gaoyiling has pleasant scenery and is an undeveloped Danxia landform. The biggest feature is that there are beautiful puddles around the Danxia landform, red rocks, green waters, dangerous villages and strange streams, which are extremely beautiful. The landscape is mostly square mountains with steep cliffs on all sides. The landscapes are all Danya Peak Village, Tanxue, Wall Valley, etc., which are the most prominent representatives of Danxia landform.



Day 3: Dongjiang Lake Bailang Scenic Area

Itinerary:

Tickets are recommended for premium route 2, including 1) Xiaodongjiang Scenic Area. The fog-watching time is from April to October, 6:00-8:30 in the morning and 17:00-19:30 in the evening. 2) Boat trip to Doushi Island and visit the cave on the island (the cave tour is the main difference from premium route 1, it is recommended to see the 300 million-year-old cave). 3) Canyon Scenic Area (this mainly depends on climbing the mountain by yourself) 4) Tourist buses pick up and drop off at various major attractions, and you can see Hougushan Waterfall and Dongjiang Dam along the way (there is no tourist bus drop-off point)

If you like playing in the water, rafting on the Dongjiang River is probably fun. It's a pity that I couldn't go in the water this time.

Gameplay recommendation:

In the morning, I woke up naturally and set out from Chenzhou City to Dongjiang Lake. The arrival time was around noon. The sun was too strong at this time, so I took a tourist bus directly to the tourist pier and took a boat to Doushuai Island or Dongjiang River rafting.

Some of the cruise ships are speedboats with air conditioning, and the antique boats have windows. It takes about half an hour to take a boat ride. It is recommended to sit near the bow (the bow is where you enter the ship) where the noise is relatively small. You can wear a life jacket and take pictures on the deck.

It is very cool to visit Doushi Island at noon. After landing on the island, climb about 80 meters of stairs to reach the entrance of the cave. The cave is about ten miles long and it takes about an hour to play slowly.

In the afternoon, we took a boat back to the visitor center. There were many restaurants nearby, but the taste was average and the average cost per person was more than 100 yuan. We chose to buy corn, sweet potatoes, fruits and boiled eggs at a stall in the visitor center for lunch.

If you are tired at this time, there are shared massage chairs in the visitor center. There are not many massage chairs, but there are still many wooden chairs. You can take a rest.

After a good rest, you can climb the Longjing Canyon Scenic Area. You can visit this area or not. The trees and waterfalls are the same as elsewhere. And the waterfall is not very big.

At about 4 o'clock in the afternoon, you can take the tourist bus back to Xiaodongjiang Scenic Area. You can ask the driver to get off when you pass Hougushan Waterfall. But in fact, the waterfall is not big, the water is quite clear, and you can go in the water to play. But most tourists don't come down. We later found out that it was very far from Hougushan Waterfall to the next pick-up point, which took about 40 minutes to walk, and there were large vehicles coming and going on the mountain road, and there were no sidewalks. So it is not recommended to get off at Hougushan Waterfall. Fortunately, we met a taxi at that time, and the driver kindly took us down the mountain to see the No. 4 station of the foggy Xiaodongjiang.

The best places to see the foggy Xiaodong River are Stations 3 and 4. We chose Station 4, which is closer to the river. Station 3 overlooks the river. There are fishermen casting nets at both stations. It is recommended to arrive at Station 4 at 5:30 to occupy a good position, wait until around 6 o'clock to take pictures, and then walk to Station 3 not far away to take a look. If you choose between the two stations, Station 4 is better. You can take the return bus back to the visitor center at the entrance of both stations. However, passengers at Station 4 will be given priority. The return bus has corresponding operating hours. You should ask the staff at the scenic spot to avoid missing the last bus.

Apart from the foggy Xiaodongjiang River, there are many other places in Dongjiang Lake that are worth experiencing. Dongjiang Lake is located in Zixing City, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province. It is a national 5A-level tourist scenic spot with pure water quality that meets the national first-class drinking water standards. The lake is vast, with an area of 160 square kilometers and a water storage capacity of 8.12 billion cubic meters, equivalent to half of the water storage capacity of Dongting Lake. It is known as the "Dongting Lake in Southern Hunan".

We bought the Dongjiang Lake Boutique Line 2. After traveling in the foggy Xiaodongjiang River, we went to the Dongjiang Lake Tourist Wharf and took a boat for about half an hour to the Doushu Lingyan Cave. The scenery was very beautiful! The lights in the cave were colorful and very beautiful. After returning, we also went to Longjing Canyon to play. There was a small waterfall with a water plank road and the scenery was pretty good.

The Xiaodongjiang River in Zixing City stretches between green mountains, flowing from south to north in the valley. Going upstream along the river bank is a road built along the mountain. From April to October every year, the temperature difference is caused by the water in the reservoir. The water temperature of the reservoir is about 14-16℃ all year round. Every day from sunrise to 9 am, river fog fills the river surface. Every morning, water vapor evaporates in the lake and fills the green mountains and valleys, just like a jade belt floating in the canyon. Being in it, you feel like you are in a fairyland.

Don't come to Dongjiang Lake for tourism. If you come, you will be reluctant to go back to work like me. The air and scenery here are good! The people here are even better! Dongjiang Lake, a well-known 5A scenic spot, was worth the three-day and two-night trip. We visited the Big and Small Dongjiang Lake, Gaoyiling, Yangtian Lake, and Huilong Mountain. Dongjiang Lake is a lake surrounded by the Nanling Mountains and the southern part of the Luoxiao Mountains (the Bamian Mountains and the Zhuguang Mountains).

The scenic area is a tourist attraction dominated by forests, lakes and mountains, and also rich in cultural tourism resources. The area is full of beautiful mountains and hills, secluded streams and wide lakes, and many scenic spots and historical sites. PS: We went there in April and no one charged us an entrance fee, so we just drove in.

Before leaving, I asked my bee friends, and they all suggested that there was nothing fun to do this season and that I should go next year. I came to Chenzhou with a desire to go out. In fact, I was very happy from the moment I booked the train ticket. Marquez said, "I travel because I decided to go, not because I was interested in the scenery." I deeply understand this.

The season was wrong, so I couldn't see the "fog covering Xiaodongjiang River". Vehicles can enter the scenic area, and you don't need to buy tickets if you don't go down the viewing plank road. I stayed in a mountain homestay for one night, and the salmon was good.

If you choose the right time and season to go to Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area, it should be a beautiful experience. The fog in Xiaodongjiang River must be beautiful, and staying in the scenic area is also a good choice for leisure accommodation.

Going upstream along Xiaodongjiang River, you will reach Dongjiang Lake. The water of the lake is very clear and you can take a boat to Doushuai Island.

Buy tickets at the scenic spot window, 171 yuan per person. Not cheap.

What attracted me to the self-driving tour in Dongjiang was probably the morning mist wonderland of Xiaodongjiang, and it might be related to the fact that I like photography a little bit.

Staying in the city of Zixing, close to Xiaodongjiang River, is convenient for sightseeing in the morning and evening. Staying in Huangcao Town is also OK, but be prepared to get up early and go to bed late.

When we went there, it might not be the best season to view the foggy scenery, but the drizzle and the drifting rain and mist did give it a hazy fairyland feel.

In the morning, the staff of the scenic spot rowed a small wooden boat to cast a net, attracting countless tourists to stand by the river to watch and take pictures. Of course, I joined in the fun and squeezed in to take a few photos. The sound of shutter clicks filled my ears.

On the boat, the boatman only casts the net three times each time. So you must be quick to take photos. Less than a quarter of an hour after getting on the boat, the boatman finished the performance and turned ashore.

Walk along the shore to Quanshui Ferry. Above the ferry is parking spot No. 3. Take the scenic bus here to go directly to Dongjiang Lake Tourist Wharf.

Dongjiang Lake Tourist Wharf is close to the Dongjiang Dam, where the water surface of Dongjiang Lake is the most open. There are dozens of islands dotted on the clear and sparkling surface of Dongjiang Lake. Doushuai Island is the largest island in Dongjiang Lake, and it looks like a giant lion crouching on the water.

The weather was not very good on the day of the tour. It was cloudy, but overall it was good.

Xiaodongjiang, the fog dissipates in the morning and rises in the evening, it is really nice

I have visited too many lakes, including Taihu Lake, West Lake in Hangzhou, Wanlv Lake in Heyuan, and many more. The scenery of Dongjiang Lake is not that beautiful. I personally feel that it is inferior to Wanlv Lake in Heyuan. It takes about half an hour to get to Doushui Island from Dongjiang Dam Wharf. The water is clear and the mountains and ridges by the lake are lush and green.

Encyclopedia: The lake surface above the Dongjiang Lake Dam is the reservoir area, commonly known as the "Big Dongjiang River". The small dam from the dam to the downstream tourist center is the "Little Dongjiang River", and the area below the Little Dongjiang River is the Dongjiang River.

Therefore, Chenzhou tourism can be visited all year round.



If you want to see the fog, you can choose to come here from April to November. The 5A Dongjiang Lake is famous for the fog in Xiaodongjiang River. The best time to see the fog is from April to the end of October, especially from June to September.



If you want to see the sunrise and sea of clouds, you can choose spring and autumn. The probability of seeing sea of clouds in Mangshan, Huilongshan and Yangtian Lake is very high at this time. If you want to see wonders such as rime, ice and snow in these high mountain scenic spots, you have to choose winter travel.



If your goal is to relax and maintain your health, you can choose to travel in autumn and winter. At this time, the hot springs near the Jiulong River Scenic Area, the Mangshan Hot Springs in Mangshan, and the Tangshi Hot Springs near Dongjiang Lake are the peak tourist seasons.



If you choose outdoor activities as your main goal, you can choose to travel in April and May around May Day and September and October around National Day. Because the temperature at this time is neither too high nor too low, neither too hot nor too cold, suitable for outdoor sports. The main destinations include the Danxia landscape near Feitian Mountain National Geopark (including Feitian Mountain, Gaoyiling, Feilada Rock Climbing, Bianjiang Yitiantian, etc.) and the forest landscape of Mangshan.
