Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie should be a must-go place, which belongs to the urban area of Zhangjiajie. There are two pitfalls I encountered. The cableway company and the foot of Tianmen Mountain are different places. You can buy tickets at the cableway company. There are Line A (on the cableway, get off the shuttle bus), Line B (on the shuttle bus, get off the cableway), and Line C (get on and off the shuttle bus). The second question is, I bought the ticket on Alipay, and chose Line B. There was no time period to choose from, and I didn't know it at the time. Then someone contacted me and told me to wait there at 9 o'clock to pick up the ticket. At that time, I thought, shouldn't I get it myself? I said I could pick up the ticket myself, but they said no. I heard the owner of the inn say that it's best to go early because it's a holiday. So I got there at 8 o'clock, and saw that many people were already queuing, while I was waiting there to pick up the ticket. Later I found out that it was a tour group. I queued for the shuttle bus at 9 o'clock, and arrived at the foot of the mountain at 10 o'clock, changed to the shuttle bus, and started the exciting 99-turn journey. I guess when buying tickets, you must choose a good time. Pick up the ticket yourself.

Arrived at the foot of Tianmen Mountain, hiked up the mountain, reached Tianmen Mountain at 12:00, toured the West Line and East Line. At 3:00, returned to the cable car station and started the long queue. At 5:00, we started to take the cable car, and it was already 5:30 when we arrived at the foot of the mountain.

I bought the A line, which should be the easiest, but many people don't know that after getting off the ropeway, I took the elevator directly to Yunmeng Xianding. My hands were frozen after taking a few photos, and then I took the elevator back to the lower station of the ropeway. To the left is the West Line. To the right is the East Line. In the photos I took, no one was walking on the glass cutting road, but in the end, the glass cutting road on the East Line was difficult to walk. We walked all the way on the plank road on the West Line, and later on the East Line, we chose the nearest way to take the seven-level escalator. We walked down the 999 steps. I don't understand why people have such good physical strength nowadays. Why do some people choose to walk up? I sweated when I went down. My hands were cold all day. According to the instructions, I went to the fast ropeway again, and I didn't have to queue up, and then took the bus back to the ropeway station. Climbing high and looking far always makes me feel happy and satisfied. Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area can be said to be the leader of Zhangjiajie. It's a pity that I didn't see the unforgettable starry sky of my friends in October, but it was really worth the trip.

When I went there, people under 18 years old were free. I went to Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area to see the mountain and Tianmen Cave. I didn't feel anything when I passed by Tianmen Cave, but when I looked back from a distance, I realized how dangerous it was.

Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain is a national 5A-level tourist attraction with a rare wonder in the world - Tianmen Cave.

Personally, I prefer the Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area, which feels farther away than Zhangjiajie Forest Park. The scenic area also has a glass plank road.

Tianmen Mountain is in the downtown area of Zhangjiajie, and the airport, railway station, and bus station are all very close. Tianmen Cave, glass plank road, cableway, and winding mountain road in Tianmen Mountain are all highlights of visiting Tianmen Mountain. Be sure to book your tickets 1-3 days in advance, and choose the time period for entering the scenic area when booking your tickets, because you will not be allowed to enter the scenic area before the time limit. It is difficult to buy tickets at the ticket office on the day. Tickets are divided into Category A: cableway up the mountain, highway scenic shuttle down the mountain. Category B: highway scenic shuttle up the mountain, cableway down the mountain.

I went on a self-driving tour to Zhangjiajie during the Spring Festival, and my first stop was Tianmen Mountain. Tianmen Mountain has always had a lot of tourists, and it takes a lot of time to queue up for the cable car, so I arranged to visit Tianmen Mountain on the first day of the Lunar New Year. Sure enough, there were not many people, and I entered the cable car smoothly. During the ascent of the cable car, I encountered the morning light, which was so beautiful. It was a good day and a good mood, so let’s go together!

A very shocking scenic spot, it has a different taste when it rains

We waited in a long line and finally got on the sightseeing bus going up the mountain. The driver drove at a speed of over 6, which was very exciting. The scenery was so beautiful that every shot was a blockbuster. It was really picturesque. The higher you climb, the more spectacular the Tianmen Mountain becomes. I heard that this was also the filming location for "Avatar". The living environment of local residents can be seen below the cable car.

There are two tour routes for Tianmen Mountain, A and B. You can take a bus directly to the foot of Tianmen Mountain. You have to climb 999 steps, which are very steep and almost vertical. If you can't climb up, you can take the elevator. The elevator costs 32 yuan per person. I think it's better to climb by yourself, otherwise what's the point. After climbing up, there is a free indoor elevator. You can take five or six very long, very long, very long escalators, and then you will reach a platform. You can start to visit Tianmen Mountain. There are two routes, the east and west, to choose from. If you have time, you can visit both, but I don't think it's necessary. The scenery on both sides is similar. I saw in the guide that the west route is more beautiful, so we chose the west route.

You can go down to Tianmen Mountain by taking the escalator or climbing the stairs. The escalator we took was quite boring. If you have good physical strength, you should experience the stairs.

There are three routes in Tianmen Mountain, namely A, B, and C. A is from the cable car up to the car down, B is from the car up to the cable car down, and C is from the car up to the car. A is more popular and needs to be booked online in advance or queued on site. As a tourist, I think the arrangement of the tourist routes in Tianmen is quite complete and you will not miss the essence of the scenic spot. You can take the escalator down the mountain on C (many people don’t know this), and A should not include the escalator down the mountain, so you need to buy a separate ticket. Tianmen Cave is nothing special, the 99 turns are not as exciting as rumored, and I am afraid of riding the escalator through the mountain (there are too many, and I am tired of it). There is a big temperature difference between the top and bottom of the mountain, the mountain view is not bad, the waiters in the scenic area are very good, and the routes in the scenic area are well arranged. Personally, I feel that there is no special food near the lower station of Tianmen Mountain Cableway. There are many shops, but the similarity rate is high.

It took about 1 hour by car from Zhangjiajie city (it couldn't be taken normally because the road was closed due to high-speed rail construction) to reach Wulingyuan Scenic Area. We started climbing the mountain at around 9 o'clock. As we had a one-day itinerary to visit Zhangjiajie Forest Park (it's too big) and time was very tight, fortunately our tour guide took us to take the elevator and we had a quick look at the main attractions.

Tianmen Mountain does not belong to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. You need to buy tickets separately, each ticket is 258 yuan, including mountain tickets, round-trip cable car and environmentally friendly car fees in the scenic area. Tickets are divided into three types: A, B, and C lines. The difference is the different modes of transportation. In addition to different routes, Tianmen Mountain tickets are also divided into time periods, and you can only enter the mountain within the specified time. The highlights are 1) The longest Tianmen Mountain Cableway; 2) The unfathomable Guigu Plank Road; 3) Tongtian Avenue; 4) Glass Plank Road; 5) The naturally created Tianmen Cave; 6) The six best mountain elevators; 7) The 999-step ladder to heaven;

It's still okay, but the scenery is worse than that of Forest Park.

I chose line B, the eco-friendly car goes up the mountain and the cable car goes down the mountain. Because I came with my mother, I decisively bought the escalator ticket. If you are young, I suggest walking the 999 steps under the Tianmen Cave. The driver of the eco-friendly car is very skilled. I don't know how many big bends there are on the way up the mountain. It is very thrilling. The cable car going down the mountain is very fast. The end point is in the city. It takes 28 minutes one way, which is also a good experience. I think people who are afraid of heights should not come here. Anyway, my legs are a little weak even if I am not afraid of heights. Even if you enter the park in different time periods, there are still many people, especially the glass plank road, which is too pitfall. There are people every few dozen meters... In terms of scenery, I think it is not as good as Zhangjiajie Forest Park.

Recommended for a one-day trip. The natural cave formed by the karst landform, Tianmen Mountain is always surrounded by clouds and mist, which is super beautiful! Of course, after the rain, the clouds and fog will be very large, and the whole mountain will be surrounded by fog!

The glass plank road is a short section, not so exciting, and you have to pay 5 yuan for shoe covers (the shoe covers need to be recycled). The scenery of Guigu Road is good, and the Tianmen Mountain Cable Bridge is quite interesting~

Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain, with an altitude of 1350-1500 meters, is a complete syncline tectonic unit in geology, with typical mid-mountain karst platform peak forest canyon landforms. The mountain is a karst platform cliff landscape, and the mountain is a karst peak forest canyon landscape. Karst hills, stone buds, depressions, funnels, and karst caves are widely distributed throughout the mountain.

Tianmen Mountain is located in the downtown area of Zhangjiajie. After breakfast, it took 5 minutes to walk to the ticket machine. Because the tickets were booked in advance, there were not many people, and the tickets were picked up in a few minutes. Tianmen Mountain has two routes, Line A and Line B. Line A is a cable car up the mountain and an eco-friendly car down the mountain. Line B is the opposite. We chose Line A because we wanted to experience the longest and steepest cable car in Asia. After more than 30 minutes of cable car up the mountain, we chose the West Line. The West Line is more essential, but the journey is not far. We finished the tour in about 2 hours. We walked along the East Line to Tianmen Cave. The naturally formed stone cave is really shocking. It took about 7 hours to play the whole Tianmen Mountain.

I think this place is more famous than it actually is. The scenery is far worse than Wulingyuan. I think it is enough to go directly to Wulingyuan when you come to Zhangjiajie. The time spent playing in Tianmen Mountain is spent on the cable car and the scenic spot bus. The tickets are quite expensive, which I think is not worth it! If we had known that Tianmen Mountain was in this situation, we would have stayed in Wulingyuan for one more day. Tianmen Mountain just gives people a majestic feeling, and the scenery is really average.

In the afternoon, it rained a little. There were so many tourists in the scenic area that we waited in line for more than an hour to get on the cable car (the 7-kilometer cable car goes directly from the city to the top of Tianmen Mountain). It only takes half a day to tour Tianmen Mountain. Here we reached the glass wooden plank and traveled all the way to Tianmen Cave and climbed over 999 thresholds. The beauty of Tianmen Mountain is different from that of the Forest Park. The Forest Park has strange peaks and rocks, while this place is a little quiet, majestic and magnificent!

When I went there, there were so many people at the ticket booth. After queuing up to buy tickets (student tickets cost 316 yuan), I had to queue up to take the cable car or bus to go up the mountain. Later, because there were too many people on the cable car, I ran to the bus queue halfway through the queue and got on the bus. A few minutes later, I arrived at the gate at the foot of Tianmen Mountain (where you can also buy tickets). I continued to queue up to take the bus up the mountain. The road up the mountain was quite steep and there were many bends. It took nearly an hour. When I arrived at the foot of the stairs of Tianmen Cave, a spectacular scene appeared in front of me, and many of the scenery could not be captured with a camera.

Then I took 7 escalators to the top of the mountain. I chose the west line to go there. The fog in the morning had not dissipated yet. After lunch, I went to the east line. The fog had basically dissipated at this time, and the scenery was more beautiful. I returned to the cable car station on the west line at about 3 o'clock and lined up quickly. However, there were still a lot of people. Don't come here during holidays in the future, otherwise you will have to wait for a long time.

I knew it was hard to buy tickets to Tianmen Mountain. It was true! We drove in late August, when it was not the busiest time. We arrived in Zhangjiajie at 20:00 in the evening, and we were able to book a hotel (Weidi) across the road from the cable car station. Hotels in Zhangjiajie do not provide toothbrushes, so it is best to bring your own!

Location: Tianmen Mountain Cableway Parking Lot (entrance and exit) near No. 9 Dayong Road, Yongding District, Zhangjiajie City. Yes, the ticket parking lot, cableway entrance and exit, sightseeing car entrance and exit are all together, very convenient! I heard that the parking lot is free, but there are not many parking spaces, so I dare not judge.

Ticket price and classification: 258 yuan, discount ticket 130 yuan. Individual tourists can only buy tickets on the day, and discount tickets cannot be booked online. This ticket includes the cable car sightseeing bus and the mountain escalator (free section), which are divided into three types: A ticket: the entrance of the cable car station next to the ticket point goes through the city to the top of the mountain, and after playing on the top of the mountain, take the mountain escalator (free section) to Tianmen Cave, go down the stairs (relaxed, no need to buy a mountain escalator ticket) to the square in front of the cave, take the sightseeing bus down to the foot of the mountain, and transfer to the sightseeing bus to the ticket point; B ticket: take the sightseeing bus to the square in front of the cave at the sightseeing bus entrance next to the ticket point, go up the stairs (if you are tired, buy a mountain escalator ticket for 32 yuan) to Tianmen Cave, take the mountain escalator (free section) to the top of the mountain, and take the cable car back to the ticket point at the top of the cable car after playing; C ticket: take the sightseeing bus up and down, so you have to climb stairs from Tianmen Cave to the square in front of the cave (if you are tired, you can buy a mountain escalator ticket).

How to play on the top of the mountain: mainly plank roads, no long stairs to climb up and down, so it is relatively easy. The west line is more beautiful than the east line, the plank road has more cliffs, both lines have glass plank roads, each plank road needs to buy 5 yuan shoe covers, and they must be recycled (never buy shoe covers yourself at the foot of the mountain). A ticket cableway stand: (west line from north to south) Lingxiaotai (not up) - glass plank road - Guigu plank road - suspension bridge - Bihe - Qiuer Cave - Cherry Bay - (east line from south to north) Wood and Stone Love - South Overlooking Tianmen - Shimen Suocui - Glass Plank Road (reverse) - Lingquan - Happy Forest - Yuhu Peak - Zuiyun Pavilion - Kouyun Pass - Xianyuan - North Overlooking Tianmen - Tianmen Turning Water - Crossing the Mountain Escalator Station. B or C ticket cross the mountain escalator station, you can play in the opposite direction.

Tips for grabbing tickets: In the peak season, the iron gate opens at 5:30, the ticket gate opens at 6:00, and the ropeway opens at 6:30. At 4:40 in late August, more than ten people were already queuing outside the iron gate, and the vendor selling breakfast with a cart next to it had already started hawking, as if it was commonplace. Since all AB tickets have been pre-sold online, although I got the first ticket, I was told that BC tickets were available for all time periods, and A tickets were only available after 15:00 in the afternoon (nine time periods). But you can buy A tickets for this time period and enter before 7:30, otherwise you have to enter after 15:00 in the afternoon (I don't know if it's possible during the peak period). After going up the mountain, I heard that all the tickets were sold out at 7:30, but I don't know if it's true. We hurriedly entered the ropeway at 6:40 after breakfast, and the sightseeing bus returned to the ticket office at 11:00.

Tips: The taxi drivers in Zhangjiajie are of low quality. They either refuse to pick you up because the taxi is too close and lie to you that it is nearby, or take a detour and charge you more. They also like to recommend restaurants and scare you into buying tickets. It is really ugly! It is inconsistent with the city's appearance!

Except for the expensive food, everything else is good. You need to bring cash because you can't pay by scanning codes on the mountain.

Tianmen Mountain is worth visiting. It not only has the glass plank road, Tianmen Cave, but also 999 steps. I went there on a self-driving tour this summer vacation. If you want to see more pictures of the scenery, you can visit my space.

Most people go to Tianmen Mountain to see the glass plank road. Maybe my expectations were too high, so I found out that the glass plank road is only 50 meters long and there were so many people that I basically couldn't see anything, let alone take pictures.

Feel the cool and beautiful Zhangjiajie

We chose to take the cable car up the mountain and the car down the mountain. I recommend that you choose this method, which feels the most suitable! When the cable car passed through the clouds, the sky suddenly became clear, and a natural ink painting unfolded in front of us! It took about 5 hours to reach more than 1,400 meters. Although we didn't reach the highest peak, the scenery was quite good. After going up the mountain, we chose to take the west line to the east line, and soon we arrived at the glass plank road. Walking along the way in Tianmen Mountain, there are beautiful scenery everywhere! It is suitable for walking and taking pictures.
