Tianmenshan - Guigu Plank Road

The Guigu Plank Road in Tianmen Mountain is located in the Mixian Wonderland Scenic Area. It is named after the cliffs hanging on the upper side of the Guigu Cave. The Guigu Plank Road is 800 meters long with an average altitude of 1,400 meters. It starts from Yihong Pass and ends at Xiaotianmen. Unlike other plank roads, the entire Guigu Plank Road is neither on the top of the cliff nor on the side of the cliff, but stands in the middle of the cliff, giving people the feeling of rising and falling with the cliff. Walking on the plank road is not the most exciting. At the highest point of the plank road, there is a glass platform about 5 meters long extending into the air and a canyon suspension bridge hanging over the abyss, commonly known as the "Sky Road". Fully challenge everyone's "dare" feeling! Looking down through the glass platform, the abyss is right under your feet, and the mountain breeze blows by your side, giving you a thrilling feeling of flying.

Guigu Plank Road, located in the Mixian Wonderland Scenic Area on the west line of Tianmen Mountain, is named after the cliffs hanging above the Guigu Cave. The plank road is 1,600 meters long with an average altitude of 1,400 meters. The entire line stands between cliffs thousands of feet high. Looking into the distance, you can see birds flying everywhere and steep peaks. Walking on it, you will feel the wind under your feet and tremble with fear as if you are walking on thin ice. It is known for its "shock, horror and danger". The plank road is suspended in the cliffs. There are often wonders such as sea of clouds and cloud waterfalls along the plank road. The clouds are steaming and it seems like a fairyland on earth. Not far from the end of the plank road, there is a glass platform about 5 meters long that stretches out in the air, hanging above the abyss of thousands of feet, towering out of the cliff for several feet, with branches and leaves shaking, as if it has grown wings and soaring slowly in the breeze and white clouds.

Standing on the plank road and overlooking the mountains, you will feel the ancient Chinese saying "standing on the top of the mountain, looking down on all the small mountains". As Tianmen Mountain is a national forest park with rich vegetation and typical karst landforms, you can feel like you are flying over a tropical rainforest canyon on a helicopter on this plank road. You can be there in person here, a scene that you can only see in movies.

The thick fog blocked my view and I still couldn't find the feeling of riding a helicopter through the rainforest canyon, which was a pity.

I prefer the Guigu Plank Road to the glass plank road. The plank road is located in a thousand-meter cliff and is integrated with the entire cliff.

Standing on the plank road and overlooking the mountains, one can spontaneously recall the feeling of the ancients who said, "I will stand on the top of the mountain and see all the other mountains as small."

By Looking for capable |

There are many plank roads along the way, and they are close to the cliffs, but the Guigu Plank Road is the most precipitous. The mountain is often shrouded in mist, comparable to the Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain.

The scenery is great. The plank road doesn't seem as exciting as advertised. Just walk around.

Actually, my legs were a little shaky. Maybe it was too tiring to walk up the mountain. It would be better to walk along the plank road in Guigu. Otherwise, it would be very tiring to walk around the mountain.

There were many red blessing ribbons hanging on the trees in this area of Guigu Plank Road. I just wanted to take pictures of them, but I didn’t do that because it’s not my style.

Visit the Guigu Plank Road and experience the thrilling glass plank road. Be sure to post a circle of friends to tell your friends that not only is the scenery here beautiful, but you will also show your brave heart here~ There are also famous attractions such as Yunmeng Xianding and Tianmen Mountain Temple waiting for you to take photos! You have to spend 5 yuan to buy a pair of shoe covers to experience the glass plank road~

You can overlook the scenery below from inside the cable car.

Such a magnificent view, people with heart disease and fear of danger really don’t dare to see it, how much beautiful scenery will be missed!!!

Does it look scary? Does it seem like a huge project?

By Dido |

The cliffs hanging above Guigu Cave are beautiful but thrilling to walk on if you can see below. Although it seems like a fairyland on a foggy day, it also loses a lot of its fun.

When you walk to the Guigu Plank Road, you can see the deep canyon under the cliff, which is a bit like the Xihai Grand Canyon in Huangshan.

This suspended plank road is much more exciting than the glass plank road. Although it is not transparent, it is still completely suspended in the air.

By Doraemon |

There are two routes to Tianmen Mountain. Route A is on the road and down the highway, and route B is on the highway and down the cableway. I chose route B. The winding mountain road has 99 bends. There is a stone tablet next to each bend to count the number of bends. There are totem-like paintings on the stone tablets for the ninth bend. With visibility of only about 10 meters, the driver drove so thrillingly!

By Stone as Rough as Piece |

The long plank road in Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area~ Basically, except for the glass plank road, the other plank roads are all Guigu plank roads~ I went there in winter~ It snowed before~ It was very slippery and needed to wear crampons~ But I saw the wonders of rime, which was not bad~ It’s just that everything outside the plank road is white~ It didn’t feel thrilling~

The Guigu Plank Road is 1,600 meters long, and more than half of the journey on the west line is on it. It is named after the cliffs hanging on the upper side of the Guigu Cave. The average altitude is 1,400 meters. Looking down, the peaks are undulating and unpredictable. Walking on the plank road can not only experience the thrills of high altitude, but also overlook the karst terrace-shaped landform features of Tianmen Mountain. By shanghaijinhai |

Looking up, you can see the towering steep mountain wall; looking down, you can see the cliff; looking forward, you can see the infinite scenery. Tianmen Mountain is quite majestic. There is a circular platform about 5 meters long on the plank road. There is also a piece of glass on it, but there are many people standing on it and no shoe covers are used. Over time, this piece of glass has become a veritable frosted glass. The Guigu Plank Road is still very long.

Close your eyes, stretch your legs with numbness, and stretch your arms with a rapid heartbeat, and you will get the most perfect, exciting, and natural SPA. Because, you should know that this kind of scenery on the cliff is generally not something that humans can enjoy. If it is before or after the rain, the fog will swirl around you on the plank road, and the sea of clouds will roll under your feet. It makes you feel like you are in the fog when you lift your legs and like you are walking on the clouds when you take a step. It is like a paradise on earth and a paradise outside the world.

Guigu Plank Road is located in the Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie. The entire plank road is built on a cliff 1,400 meters above sea level. The construction of the entire plank road is extremely difficult and very steep. Foggy weather has a great impact on the tour of Guigu Plank Road, but you can still feel the thrill of the entire plank road.

It is worth a visit. You must choose the off-season when there are fewer people and the ticket price is cheaper.

By Walking in disappearance |

In fact, I personally feel that the Guigu Plank Road is not very scary. Of course, it is a bit challenging for those who are afraid of heights. Never choose to go up the mountain on a rainy day, because after heavy rain, the mountain spring water will be abundant, which will cause the plank road to be washed away, which is really scary. Moreover, wearing a raincoat on a rainy day is useless because the mountain is windy and your body will be wet. It is recommended not to use an umbrella on the mountain. If you are struck by lightning, it will be no joke. The Guigu Plank Road has an east line and a west line. It depends on which route you choose to visit Tianmen Mountain. It is still quite artistic.

I went to Tianmen Mountain during the Spring Festival in 2016. Because there was ice and snow on the mountain, the Tianmen Cave was closed.

After going up the mountain, there was still unmelted ice and snow on the Guigu Mountain Trail, making the road very slippery, but the scenery was beautiful, especially since I rarely see snow in the mountains.

I took a lot of photos. It was very poetic.

Guigu Plank Road is one of the most famous attractions in Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area. Walking on the Guigu Plank Road carved out on the cliffs, especially the "glass plank road", is full of dangers and thrilling. Standing on the glass, you dare not look down, for fear that the glass will be broken and you will fall into the abyss. It is really thrilling and exciting! Moreover, standing on the cliff plank road, looking into the distance, the towering peaks and the mountains are magnificent!

By _Sissi, |

The Guigu Plank Road is named because it is suspended on a cliff at an altitude of more than 1,400 meters above the Guigu Cave on Tianmen Mountain. It is about 2 kilometers long. There is no need to buy a separate ticket here, as it is already included in the ticket to Zhangjiajie Forest Park. Walking on the Guigu Plank Road, you can not only enjoy the scenery of Guigu from a high place, but also take a lot of beautiful photos. So friends who like taking pictures should not miss it. The plank road is not long and can be walked in about half an hour.

Due to the influence of altitude and air current, many birds cannot reach the position parallel to the plank road. The Guigu Plank Road is 1,600 meters long, while the Zhangjiajie Glass Plank Road only covers 60 meters. By Lotus Leaves |

For people with acrophobia, it feels similar to the glass plank road, but you can persist in walking out. My experience is to walk by holding the stone wall inside, walk in the middle when crossing the suspension bridge, and silently remember that there will be many people coming tomorrow, so it is impossible to stop at this time. Look to the opposite side, not down. After walking through the Ghost Valley Plank Road, you will find that these scary things are built for the timid people like us, just like the haunted house. They have no effect on the brave people, so there is no point. Give yourself a chance to overcome the fear in your heart.

After walking along the glass plank road, the next is a long section of Guigu plank road that is only one or two people wide and built along the almost vertical mountain wall.

At the beginning of the plank road, the trees on both sides were tied with red ribbons for praying. In the heavy fog, it looked particularly eerie, like a ghost movie.
