The Forest Park Ticket Station is the closest gate to the city among the three gates of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. There are shuttle buses directly to the "Forest Park Ticket Station" at the Zhangjiajie Bus Station (next to the railway station). It takes about 40 minutes to get there, and the whole journey is about 30 kilometers.

Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area, formerly known as Qingyan Mountain, was named after the ancient Tujia leader Xiang Dakun who led the local peasants in an uprising and called himself "Son of Heaven". It is one of the four major scenic areas in Wulingyuan. It stretches for nearly 40 kilometers from Tianzi Pavilion in the east to Jiangjunyan in the west and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in the south.
The total area is more than 5,400 hectares, with the highest point, Tianzi Peak, at an altitude of 1,262.5 meters, and the lowest point at an altitude of 534 meters. Because Xiang Dakun, a Tujia leader in the Song Dynasty, led an uprising here and called himself "King of Heaven", and later died here, it was named Tianzi Mountain, and it is also known as the "King of Peaks and Forests". I went to Tianzi Mountain on a snowy day. Because the roads to Daguantai and Laowuchang were frozen and eco-friendly vehicles could not go there, many tour groups did not visit this place, but it created a great viewing experience for us individual tourists. Tianzi Mountain is the best place to see snow, because the vegetation in other places is not as rich as that in Tianzi Mountain, so the snow cannot pile up, but Tianzi Mountain can, so you can see the scenery of snow and mountain in the same frame, it's so dreamy!

On the terrace next to Yubi Peak, there is a Tianzi Pavilion, which was built with donations from the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government in 1995. The Tianzi Pavilion is 30 meters high and faces the abyss on three sides. When you climb up the pavilion and look out, you can have a panoramic view of the mountains near and far.
There is a small path next to the Tianzi Pavilion leading to the warriors training horses. It is also an excellent viewing platform with very few tourists, so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery quietly.
When we first arrived at Tianzi Mountain, we were a little confused by the bustling tourist groups and didn't know where to start. In fact, the highlights are Yubi Peak and Fairy Flowers.
We went up by cable car, and then took a free shuttle bus to He Long Park. We didn't finish visiting Tianzi Mountain, but we saw Fairy Flowers and Imperial Pen Peak, and returned to Tianzi Pavilion. From Tianzi Pavilion you can go to the Ten-Li Long Corridor, and there were people walking up from the bottom. I think it's okay to walk down, the scenery is still good, and it's relaxing to walk around, a little more walking than in Yuanjiajie.

Next we went to Helong Square. 50 meters down from Helong Square is the Tianzi Observation Deck. It is said that "If you don't see this view, you will regret it for the rest of your life!" It is really beautiful down there, like a fairyland on earth! In terms of scenery, the Tianzi Mountain side of the entire Zhangjiajie Scenic Area is the most beautiful. There are many observation decks in this area, but there are really too many people! Xihai Peak Forest, this is the most beautiful!!!

Marshal He Long (1896-1969) was a founding father of the People's Republic of China and one of the founders of the People's Liberation Army. He was born into a peasant family in Hongjiaguan, Sangzhi County, west of Tianzi Mountain.
The Tianzi Mountain area was once where predecessors such as He Long, Ren Bishi, Xiao Ke, and Wang Zhen fought guerrilla warfare.
At the end of the Ten-Li Gallery is the Tianzi Mountain hiking trail, which has five steps up and five steps down. It is said that there are more than 7,000 steps in total. It took about 3 hours. There were quite a few people on the road, but it was not crowded. It was very comfortable to walk. I was soaked all over when I walked up the mountain. You can take the cable car up the mountain. The vegetation is very lush. There are not many stone mountains in Zhangjiajie that can be seen on the way.
There were a lot of tour group tourists gathered near Tianzi Mountain, making it difficult to take a photo. When I was queuing up to take photos at a viewing platform, I encountered a lot of uncles and aunts who cut in line. They didn't listen to my advice. The purpose of traveling out is to relax, so I didn't bother with them.
The weather is nice today, perfect for us to go up the mountain to enjoy the scenery.

Strange rocks, clear streams, trees all over the mountain, and it's hard to imagine walking on the artificial plank road. It feels like traveling through time and space! Finally, I took the slide down the mountain, as if I was back to my childhood. It was so fun!
You have two options to go down the mountain, one is to take the cable car; the other is to walk. I chose to walk, but it was too... tiring. I advise everyone with average physical strength to take the cable car.
The whole way down the mountain is this kind of mountain road, and some places are very secluded. You can't see anyone in front or behind. If you are afraid or don't have enough physical strength, you should go to Tianzi Mountain to take the cable car. Don't walk halfway and find it difficult to go back or go down the mountain.
It took about two to three hours to walk all the way.

Tips:
1. Tianzi Mountain He Long Park is the core scenic spot of Zhangjiajie and a must-go route for travel groups. The scenery is very beautiful. Avoiding the peak season is also a necessary choice for visiting Tianzi Mountain!
2. During the rainy season, the sea of clouds in Tianzi Mountain is very beautiful, but it also depends on your luck. You may see beautiful scenery, or you may see nothing but fog.
3. There are many viewing platforms in Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area. Travel groups do not go to some smaller viewing platforms. We can go to the following ones, such as Tianzi Viewing Platform, Xihai Stone Forest Viewing Platform, Divine Turtle Fossil Viewing Platform, and Warrior Horse Taming Viewing Platform.
4. Tianzi Pavilion on Tianzi Mountain is the best place to view the panoramic view of Tianzi Mountain. If you don’t go to Tianzi Pavilion, you will have wasted your trip to Tianzi Mountain. This is definitely true!

The mountain peaks are shrouded in clouds and mist, and their original appearance cannot be seen. But I prefer Tianzi Mountain like this. It may not have the original grandeur and magnificence, but now it is like a fairyland, appearing and disappearing, which makes people linger.

Be sure to reserve half a day to go from the city to the ticket stations. The ticket price is enough for you to play for four days. Special reminder: Every time you enter from the ticket station, you must swipe your fingerprint and card at the same time. Don't think that if you enter on the first day, you can enter without a card on the second day by swiping your fingerprint. We bought the ticket at 5 pm, just to seek some comfort, so that the ticket was used for four days. The ticket seller asked us with a puzzled look on our face if we wanted to go in now? We said we were just strolling at the door, and it turned out that we were right to go in early to test the military situation. I believe that every bee was confused by the dozens of large and small place names in Zhangjiajie Forest Park when making a strategy. We were the same. We were so confused that we simply made a rough plan and talked about it later. Sure enough, when I came in and saw the map, I was stunned instantly. All the strategies I had made before were invalid, because they did not match the actual situation on the scene at all, and the original route was not feasible at all. So I took a few photos of the map very cleverly and went back to plan it again at night. The Tianzi Mountain Station and Helong Park are disconnected; the upper and lower stations of the Tianzi Mountain Cableway are also disconnected. There are no eco-friendly vehicles between these two points. The former can only climb the mountain on foot; the latter can walk or take the cableway. If you choose to walk, it will take 3 to 4 hours to go from the upper station of the Tianzi Mountain Cableway to the lower station of the Tianzi Mountain Cableway. Furthermore, the operating hours of the eco-friendly vehicles are from 7 am to 7 pm. In addition to the eco-friendly vehicles, all other means of transportation in the scenic area will be charged separately, including cableways, ladders, small trains, sedan chairs, etc., which are not included in the ticket. So if you want to spend the least money and avoid taking detours, you must plan your route well. So it takes 3 hours to hike from the bottom of the mountain.
After visiting Tianzi Mountain, it is time to go down the mountain. You can choose to take the Tianzi Mountain cableway down the mountain, or you can choose to return to Yangjiajie.
The core scenic spot of Tianzi Mountain is He Long Park. The bronze statue of Marshal He Long stands at the entrance of the park. Spectacular peaks can be seen on Yunqing Rock. The "Fairy Offering Flowers" and "Imperial Pen Peak", two of the top ten scenic spots, are also here.
The scenery is mostly the same, just one place and one allusion. On the contrary, I am quite satisfied with the cableway of Tianzi Mountain. I recommend taking it.
The Tianzi Observation Deck is a long scroll viewing angle.
There are some cultural relics on display and an introduction to Tujia and Miao culture in the Tianzi Pavilion. There is a barcode scanning telescope on the roof, but it is not easy to use if you are short, because you can only adjust the pitch angle of the telescope, but not the height. If you are short, you can only use the telescope to look far away, and you may not see the sky.
Tianzi Mountain is full of strange peaks and rocks. Rain and fog shroud the green peaks, obscuring part of the scenery, but also bringing fairyland-like beauty. We visited Helong Park, Fairy Flowers, Imperial Brush Peak, Tianzi Pavilion and other scenic spots, and walked down the mountain to reach the Ten-mile Gallery. As the saying goes, it is easy to go up the mountain but difficult to go down. We underestimated the difficulty of going down the mountain. The journey was long and tiring.
