Tianzi Mountain

Located in the north of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, it borders Suoxiyu Scenic Area to the east. It was named after Xiang Dakun, a Tujia leader in the early Ming Dynasty, who called himself "Xiang Wang Tianzi".
The highest point is about 1262.5 meters above sea level, and the lowest point is about 534 meters above sea level. Here you can have the opportunity to enjoy the four wonders of clouds and mist, moonlit night, rosy sun, and winter snow.
Millions of years ago, Tianzi Mountain was a vast ocean. Later, after a complex and long geological process, it formed strange geological landscapes such as Yubi Peak.

People with good physical strength can try to climb the mountain. Because it is really far. After yesterday's Huangshizhai, I would never climb Tianzi Mountain. The hotel front desk said that it would take two hours to walk one way... I am still very scared.

The scenery of Tianzi Mountain is different from the others. The stones here are thin pillars. Generally, after three days of visiting a scenic spot, you will feel a little aesthetic fatigue, but in these few days, the scenery is different, so I feel it is still novel.

Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area, formerly known as Qingyan Mountain, was named after the ancient Tujia leader Xiang Dakun who led the local peasants in an uprising and called himself "Son of Heaven". It is one of the four major scenic areas in Wulingyuan. It stretches for nearly 40 kilometers from Tianzi Pavilion in the east to Jiangjunyan in the west and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in the south.

The total area is more than 5,400 hectares, with the highest point, Tianzi Peak, at an altitude of 1,262.5 meters, and the lowest point at an altitude of 534 meters. Because Xiang Dakun, a Tujia leader in the Song Dynasty, led an uprising here and called himself "King of Heaven", and later died here, it was named Tianzi Mountain, and it is also known as the "King of Peaks and Forests". Tianzi Mountain has an average annual temperature of 12℃, an annual rainfall of 1,800 mm, a frost-free period of 240 days, and a freezing period of about 60 to 80 days. It is a terraced landform type.

I went to Tianzi Mountain on a snowy day. Because the roads to Daguantai and Laowuchang were frozen and eco-friendly vehicles could not go there, many tour groups did not visit this place, but it created a great viewing experience for us individual tourists. Tianzi Mountain is the best place to see snow, because the vegetation in other places is not as rich as that in Tianzi Mountain, so the snow cannot pile up, but Tianzi Mountain can, so you can see the scenery of snow and mountain in the same frame, it's so dreamy!

Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve is located in the northwest of Wulingyuan. It is a natural zoo with ancient subtropical primitive forests, rare trees and exotic animals everywhere. The highest point in Tianzi Mountain, Kunlun Peak, is 1,262.5 meters above sea level, and the lowest point, Sinanyu, is 534 meters above sea level. The scenic area is beautiful, especially the sea of clouds, stone waves, winter snow, and sunset. The scenery of this tour line is relatively concentrated, and it is known as "leaning on the railing to see the scenery in the sky". There are five main tourist areas: Chapanta, Shentangwan, Laowuchang, Huanglongquan, Fengqishan, and Shijiayan. There is a sky bridge, two Tianchi, four Tianmen, five karst caves, more than 80 viewing platforms, and several flowing springs and waterfalls.

Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area, formerly known as Qingyan Mountain, got its name because in the early Ming Dynasty, the Tujia leader Xiang Dakun led the local peasants in an uprising and called himself "Son of Heaven". The highest point here is 1,262 meters above sea level, and it is known as the "King of Peaks and Forests".

The Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area includes He Long Park, Yunqingyan, Yubi Peak, Fairy Flowers and other attractions.

Yu Bi Peak is the first of the ten most spectacular sights in Zhangjiajie. On September 25, 1994, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the People's Republic of China issued a special stamp "Wulingyuan", and the stamp with the highest face value was Yu Bi Peak.

Several beautiful peaks rise up in an orderly manner, about a hundred meters high, connected to each other in an irregular manner, thin at the top and thick at the bottom, shaped like a pen, pointing to the blue sky. According to legend, this was the pen used by Emperor Xiang Wang of the Tujia ethnic group in the Ming Dynasty, so it is called the Imperial Pen Peak.

Opposite Yu Bi Peak is also a large group of peaks. One of the peaks looks like the side silhouette of a fairy. The green pine shrubs on the top of the peak are just like the flowers on the girl's head. She is holding a basket of flowers, ready to scatter the flowers to the world. This is the famous fairy scattering flowers.

On the terrace next to Yubi Peak, there is a Tianzi Pavilion, which was built with donations from the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government in 1995. The Tianzi Pavilion is 30 meters high and faces the abyss on three sides. When you climb up the pavilion and look out, you can have a panoramic view of the mountains near and far.

There is a small path next to the Tianzi Pavilion leading to the warriors training horses. It is also an excellent viewing platform with very few tourists, so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery quietly.

When we first arrived at Tianzi Mountain, we were a little confused by the bustling tourist groups and didn't know where to start. In fact, the highlights are Yubi Peak and Fairy Flowers.

By Donut |

We went up by cable car, and then took a free shuttle bus to He Long Park. We didn't finish visiting Tianzi Mountain, but we saw Fairy Flowers and Imperial Pen Peak, and returned to Tianzi Pavilion. From Tianzi Pavilion you can go to the Ten-Li Long Corridor, and there were people walking up from the bottom. I think it's okay to walk down, the scenery is still good, and it's relaxing to walk around, a little more walking than in Yuanjiajie.

By Infinite Heaven and Earth |

Look at the queue for the bus, it's so long!!! They were going from Tianzi Mountain to Yangjiazhai, luckily we were going the other way. Next we went to Helong Square. 50 meters down from Helong Square is the Tianzi Observation Deck. It is said that "If you don't see this view, you will regret it for the rest of your life!" It is really beautiful down there, like a fairyland on earth! In terms of scenery, the Tianzi Mountain side of the entire Zhangjiajie Scenic Area is the most beautiful. There are many observation decks in this area, but there are really too many people! Xihai Peak Forest, this is the most beautiful!!!

Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area is located in the north of Wulingyuan, adjacent to Zhangjiajie and Suoxiyu, with a total area of 67 square kilometers. Tianzi Mountain has an altitude of 1262.5 meters (Kunlun Peak), with a minimum of 534 meters, and a tour line around the mountain of more than 40 kilometers. Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area is named after the Tujia leader Xiang Wang (named Dakun) who called himself the Son of Heaven in the late Southern Song Dynasty. Many scenic spots in the area are also related to this, such as Tianzi Island, Baojian Peak, Longyi Rock, etc.

Tianzi Mountain was named after Xiang Dakun, a Tujia leader in the early Ming Dynasty, who called himself "Xiang Wang Tianzi". The original scenery is naturally beautiful, and the scenic spots are all created by nature without any traces of artificial carving.

The charm of nature lies in its ever-changing nature. No one dares to say that he has captured the most beautiful scenery. When you are still savoring the beautiful scenery that has passed, the breathtakingly beautiful scenery appears again.

Tianzi Mountain is the core scenic spot of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. I have visited Zhangjiajie National Forest Park three times and I feel that the best scenery is Tianzi Mountain.

By Playing around |

The Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area is quite large, and you can take a tour bus to visit it one point at a time.

One of the essences of Zhangjiajie, the place that best represents the landform of Zhangjiajie, He Long Park is located on the top of the mountain. It is the most beautiful to see it in the park.

Tianzi Mountain is a must-see attraction besides Yuanjiajie. It is very stunning. I couldn't take photos of its beauty on a cloudy day. If I was lucky enough to see the sea of clouds, it should be even more beautiful. You must go

By chencurl |

The scenery is beautiful and worth a visit. It is also the core of Wulingyuan!

Tianzi Mountain is known as "Three Thousand Strange Peaks, Eight Hundred Beautiful Waters, Expanded Bonsai, Minimized Fairyland". There are three thousand peaks in Wulingyuan, and there are 180,000 pines on each peak. Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area (Xihai Stone Forest, Fairy Scattering Flowers, Yubi Peak, Tianzi Pavilion, Yunqingyan and other attractions) is known as the "King of Peak Forests".

After exiting Helong Park, we reached the end. If you have time, I still hope that everyone can hike down the mountain. Although it is very tiring, you can witness the historical changes of nature from the bottom. And there are very few people, it's like you have contracted every hilltop by yourself, hahaha.

The roads on Tianzi Mountain are a bit messy, and we couldn't figure out how to play. There were a lot of tour groups there, but there were still some good spots, including the tomb of Marshal He Long, which you can go and pay your respects to.

It is not as beautiful as Mount Lu, nor as majestic as Mount Tai, but its uniqueness is incomparable to the former and it is indeed beautiful.

"Who knows the face of the emperor? When he returns, he will not look at any other mountain in the world." Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area is especially famous for its stone forest wonders. On the east, west and south sides, there are stone peaks and gullies. The majestic stone forests are like swords and halberds, standing in the middle, and they are like thousands of troops, with unparalleled momentum. Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area mainly includes Shilihualang, Tianzi Pavilion, Helong Park, Yubi Peak, Dianjiangtai, Shentang Bay, etc. You can take the cable car directly to the top of the mountain, or walk all the way to the top from Shilihualang.

Except for Yu Bi Peak and He Long Park near Tianzi Pavilion, the rest of the scenic spots in Tianzi Mountain are extremely scattered, and must rely on the eco-friendly vehicles within the scenic area.

By Xiaoying~lo |

There are many people and the scenery is great. It is a must-visit scenic spot.

By sunflower |

Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area has many scenic spots, and you can finish the tour in two hours at most! In fact, each scenic spot in Tianzi Mountain is a different viewing platform! Yu Bi Peak is the main attraction of Tianzi Mountain! There is a poem that says "Looking at the clouds in the West Sea, the tip of Yu Bi Peak points to the sky. Tianzi Pavilion is a famous scenic spot in Zhangjiajie Tianzi Mountain. It is an artificial building. From Tianzi Pavilion, you can overlook the panoramic view of Tianzi Mountain, which is very spectacular.

By Chihiro Ayazato |

We headed towards the scenery at the top of Tianzi Mountain. Although the rain had stopped after we arrived, the mountain was still shrouded in fog, so we didn't see some of the scenery, but we could experience the feeling of being in the clouds. Because it was at the top of the mountain, it was a little easier to walk down, but there were five ups and five downs of stairs during the journey, because we could appreciate five different small peaks.

By Gonghaifeng |

It is a big attraction, but it is also a gathering place for group tourists. There are many people and there are still many people. This is the only impression. It is not recommended for those who are in a hurry to travel independently. The recommended attractions on the mountain are Laowuchang and Yangjiajie.

By Zhixin1 |

Tianzi Mountain Observation Deck is the best place for viewing the scenery.

By Mumu |

When looking at mountains, some people like the mountain scenery under the bright sunshine, blue sky and white clouds. I personally prefer the mountains shrouded in clouds and mist. Clouds and mist only appear after the rain, and they are hard to come by. I didn’t expect to see clouds and mist, as long as it didn’t rain heavily. So when I unexpectedly saw clouds and mist in Yangjiajie and Tianzi Mountain, I was so excited!

The clouds and mist add a touch of gentleness and mystery to the originally solemn and monotonous mountain. I don't know which immortal lived in seclusion here, usually traveling around the world. One day, he came back and fiddled with the clouds and mist, which slowly spread out from a wisp of green smoke, and suddenly rose with the wind and circled the cold mountain. The layers of mountains in the distance were covered with gauze, and the towering peaks nearby seemed to float in the air, so that the world became a fairyland.

There is a statue of He Long in Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area. There seems to be a legend about Tianzi Mountain. It seems that a Tujia emperor was trapped on the mountain. There is a record in the park. Here you have to sigh. There are mountains everywhere. How did the ancients climb up? No wonder there are bandits in this generation, because it is easy to hide in the mountains! There are still many viewing platforms, and you can enjoy the mountain scenery up and down. It would be perfect if it rains next time and you can see the sea of clouds, but unfortunately I have never had that luck!

By Angry Grasshopper |

Who can recognize the emperor's face? I just wrote a travel note about the forest park, you can refer to it. https://imfw.cn/l/16454705

By Zeng Guozhang |

It was raining and the mountain was foggy. The beautiful scenery was looming, but it was more hidden than visible. This place is also the core scenic spot, known as the "King of Peaks and Forests". It's a pity! I just had a quick look. This scenic spot includes Helong Park, Yubi Peak, Tianzi Pavilion, etc.

Rainy days are not suitable for sightseeing. Once the rain does not stop, in addition to the inconvenience of movement, the biggest regret is that you cannot see the scenery you want, because when the fog is too thick, there is only a vast expanse of white.

By Little Wow |

The scenery is indeed different. It is very majestic and magnificent. Because of the higher altitude, the canyon is deeper and more artistic. No wonder it is called Tianzi Mountain, no wonder King Xiang established his kingdom here.

By Bugs |

Tianzi Mountain is a wonder of nature. God has created such exquisite works of art, like individual cut works of art.

Standing in front of the observation deck, there are hundreds of stone peaks standing all around, which is extraordinary.

By Rose Coffee 2 |

There is a Helong Park in Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area, but I didn't take any photos here. I usually don't take photos of cemeteries! I think this is a kind of respect for the immortals.

Tianzi Mountain has huge tracts of peaks and forests, all close together, making it difficult for them to form an independent scene. So I seldom take pictures here, I just look at them.

Marshal He Long (1896-1969) was a founding father of the People's Republic of China and one of the founders of the People's Liberation Army. He was born into a peasant family in Hongjiaguan, Sangzhi County, west of Tianzi Mountain.

The Tianzi Mountain area was once where predecessors such as He Long, Ren Bishi, Xiao Ke, and Wang Zhen fought guerrilla warfare.

At the end of the Ten-Li Gallery is the Tianzi Mountain hiking trail, which has five steps up and five steps down. It is said that there are more than 7,000 steps in total. It took about 3 hours. There were quite a few people on the road, but it was not crowded. It was very comfortable to walk. I was soaked all over when I walked up the mountain. You can take the cable car up the mountain. The vegetation is very lush. There are not many stone mountains in Zhangjiajie that can be seen on the way.

By The tail of rain |

There were a lot of tour group tourists gathered near Tianzi Mountain, making it difficult to take a photo. When I was queuing up to take photos at a viewing platform, I encountered a lot of uncles and aunts who cut in line. They didn't listen to my advice. The purpose of traveling out is to relax, so I didn't bother with them.

By Little cat |

The weather is nice today, perfect for us to go up the mountain to enjoy the scenery.

There is a Helong Park in Tianzi Mountain, a very quiet place

I never expected there was a McDonald’s on the mountain (I also saw a KFC later)!

Starting from Tianzi Pavilion here, there is a place where you can wear ethnic costumes and take photos. You can take photos as you like for ten or twenty yuan.

Strange rocks, clear streams, trees all over the mountain, and it's hard to imagine walking on the artificial plank road. It feels like traveling through time and space! Finally, I took the slide down the mountain, as if I was back to my childhood. It was so fun!

By The Western Poison is no more than Ouyang Feng |

You have two options to go down the mountain, one is to take the cable car; the other is to walk. I chose to walk, but it was too... tiring. I advise everyone with average physical strength to take the cable car.

The whole way down the mountain is this kind of mountain road, and some places are very secluded. You can't see anyone in front or behind. If you are afraid or don't have enough physical strength, you should go to Tianzi Mountain to take the cable car. Don't walk halfway and find it difficult to go back or go down the mountain.

It took about two to three hours to walk all the way.

Tickets: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park package. Take the scenic area eco-friendly bus to Tianzi Mountain Helong Park parking lot and walk the whole way.

The whole tour takes about 1.5 hours.

Tips:

1. Tianzi Mountain He Long Park is the core scenic spot of Zhangjiajie and a must-go route for travel groups. The scenery is very beautiful. Avoiding the peak season is also a necessary choice for visiting Tianzi Mountain!

2. During the rainy season, the sea of clouds in Tianzi Mountain is very beautiful, but it also depends on your luck. You may see beautiful scenery, or you may see nothing but fog.

3. There are many viewing platforms in Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area. Travel groups do not go to some smaller viewing platforms. We can go to the following ones, such as Tianzi Viewing Platform, Xihai Stone Forest Viewing Platform, Divine Turtle Fossil Viewing Platform, and Warrior Horse Taming Viewing Platform.

4. Tianzi Pavilion on Tianzi Mountain is the best place to view the panoramic view of Tianzi Mountain. If you don’t go to Tianzi Pavilion, you will have wasted your trip to Tianzi Mountain. This is definitely true!

Be sure to reserve half a day to go from the city to the ticket stations. The ticket price is enough for you to play for four days. Special reminder: Every time you enter from the ticket station, you must swipe your fingerprint and card at the same time. Don't think that if you enter on the first day, you can enter without a card on the second day by swiping your fingerprint. We bought the ticket at 5 pm, just to seek some comfort, so that the ticket was used for four days. The ticket seller asked us with a puzzled look on our face if we wanted to go in now? We said we were just strolling at the door, and it turned out that we were right to go in early to test the military situation. I believe that every bee was confused by the dozens of large and small place names in Zhangjiajie Forest Park when making a strategy. We were the same. We were so confused that we simply made a rough plan and talked about it later. Sure enough, when I came in and saw the map, I was stunned instantly. All the strategies I had made before were invalid, because they did not match the actual situation on the scene at all, and the original route was not feasible at all. So I took a few photos of the map very cleverly and went back to plan it again at night. The Tianzi Mountain Station and Helong Park are disconnected; the upper and lower stations of the Tianzi Mountain Cableway are also disconnected. There are no eco-friendly vehicles between these two points. The former can only climb the mountain on foot; the latter can walk or take the cableway. If you choose to walk, it will take 3 to 4 hours to go from the upper station of the Tianzi Mountain Cableway to the lower station of the Tianzi Mountain Cableway. Furthermore, the operating hours of the eco-friendly vehicles are from 7 am to 7 pm. In addition to the eco-friendly vehicles, all other means of transportation in the scenic area will be charged separately, including cableways, ladders, small trains, sedan chairs, etc., which are not included in the ticket. So if you want to spend the least money and avoid taking detours, you must plan your route well. So it takes 3 hours to hike from the bottom of the mountain.

After visiting Tianzi Mountain, it is time to go down the mountain. You can choose to take the Tianzi Mountain cableway down the mountain, or you can choose to return to Yangjiajie.

The core scenic spot of Tianzi Mountain is He Long Park. The bronze statue of Marshal He Long stands at the entrance of the park. Spectacular peaks can be seen on Yunqing Rock. The "Fairy Offering Flowers" and "Imperial Pen Peak", two of the top ten scenic spots, are also here.

The scenery is mostly the same, just one place and one allusion. On the contrary, I am quite satisfied with the cableway of Tianzi Mountain. I recommend taking it.

The Tianzi Observation Deck is a long scroll viewing angle.

There are some cultural relics on display and an introduction to Tujia and Miao culture in the Tianzi Pavilion. There is a barcode scanning telescope on the roof, but it is not easy to use if you are short, because you can only adjust the pitch angle of the telescope, but not the height. If you are short, you can only use the telescope to look far away, and you may not see the sky.

Tianzi Mountain is full of strange peaks and rocks. Rain and fog shroud the green peaks, obscuring part of the scenery, but also bringing fairyland-like beauty. We visited Helong Park, Fairy Flowers, Imperial Brush Peak, Tianzi Pavilion and other scenic spots, and walked down the mountain to reach the Ten-mile Gallery. As the saying goes, it is easy to go up the mountain but difficult to go down. We underestimated the difficulty of going down the mountain. The journey was long and tiring.

Tianzi Mountain is surrounded by green trees, tall trees and deep grass, and surrounded by mist in the mountains. It is really a fairyland. On the way up the mountain, I saw a place with locks hanging on the railings on both sides. Later I learned that they were love locks. I asked the locals for a lock to lock the love, and the lover will never leave. It is a very beautiful meaning and expectation.

Tianzi Mountain was originally named Qingyan Mountain. It was named after the Tujia leader Xiang Dakun, who led local peasants in an uprising and called himself "Son of Heaven" and died here. The mountains of Tianzi Mountain are very peculiar, different from the most common triangle shape and the strip shape of Yuanjiajie! It's like this place did something wrong and God was angry and sent down countless lightnings to split the mountains. Some mountains don't even grow any plants on one side and are very flat! The mountains of Tianzi Mountain are very unique, standing straight as if they were cut by a knife, and the mountains are so high and deep that you can't see the bottom. It's like you are swimming in a painting, and it's so beautiful that you can't stop taking a look. It's definitely worth visiting.

Tianzi Mountain is located in the heart of Wulingyuan, and its terrain is higher than the surrounding areas. Tianzi Mountain has four wonders: Clouds, Moonlight, Sun and Winter Snow. The clouds and mists in the mountains are ever-changing and varied, sometimes like the waves of the river and the sea, sometimes like a veil covering the body, ethereal and ethereal. It is said that "If you know the face of the emperor, you will not look at the mountains in the world when you return", and "If you don't visit Tianzi Mountain, you have come to Wulingyuan in vain".
