One of the four famous academies in Chinese history, it is located in Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area and has a history of more than a thousand years.
It is also famous for preserving a large number of steles and cultural relics, such as the "Lushan Temple Stele" carved in the Tang Dynasty and the "Yuelu Academy" stone stele carved in the Ming Dynasty with the handwriting of Emperor Zhenzong of Song Dynasty.
On the hill of Qingfeng Gorge behind the academy, there is the Aiwan Pavilion, which was a place Chairman Mao Zedong often visited in his youth.

Yuelu Academy is even more poetic during the rainstorm. It is so quiet that only the sound of rain can be heard. There are not many tourists, who like to catch every drop of water falling from the eaves.
Yuelu Academy was founded in 976 AD during the Northern Song Dynasty. It is one of the four major academies and has produced many famous people. It is the predecessor of Hunan University, which has become the only thousand-year-old institution of higher learning in China.
Yuelu Academy Tickets: 40/person
Duration: 1-2 hours
Shooting on rainy days: plants, rain, and houses are three natural layers. The water drops falling from the eaves are also the best decoration for taking portraits.
Clothing: Something brighter, red is good
Located at the foot of the east side of Yuelu Mountain on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River in Changsha City, it is a traditional Chinese academy building and one of the four famous academies in Chinese history. In the ninth year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty (976), Zhu Dong, the governor of Tanzhou, formally founded Yuelu Academy with government donations on the basis of the monks' school. Subsequently, it went through the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and was changed to Hunan Higher School in the 29th year of Guangxu in the late Qing Dynasty (1903). In the eighth year of Xiangfu in the Northern Song Dynasty (1015 AD), Emperor Zhenzong of Song summoned the principal Zhou Shi and gave him the four-character "Yuelu Academy" on the door plaque. In 1926, it was officially named Hunan University. Yuelu Academy has gone through a thousand years, and music and singing have never stopped, so it is known as the "Millennium Academy". It is now a college under Hunan University.
When I came here, I encountered the heaviest snowfall in Changsha in ten years. The mountain was closed due to sudden snow, and Yuelu Academy was not open, which was quite a pity. When I went down the mountain, on the road to Aiwan Pavilion, I saw Yuelu Academy after the snow. The towering ancient tree in the backyard was surprisingly tall. I had heard that there were many thousand-year-old trees in the academy, but I didn't know how many years this tree had experienced.
Yuelu Academy is the first of the four major academies in my country. It now covers an area of 12,000 square meters, hidden in the deep mountains and waters on the eastern slope of Yuelu Mountain. It is an ancient building complex consisting of gate halls, pavilions, terraces, towers, pavilions, halls and ancestral halls. On the central axis are the front gate, Hexi Terrace, the main gate, the second lecture hall and the Imperial Library. On the north side are the memorial buildings such as Banxuezhai, Wenmiao, Xiangshui Xuejingtang, Chuanshan Temple, and on the south side are the teaching halls, Baiquanxuan, Lushan Temple and other scenic spots.
Very appreciative
When we turned back to Yuelu Academy from Aiwan Pavilion, the rain was already heavy and heavy. It was just right that once we entered the academy and turned a corner, we could rest on the winding corridor. We had rested enough in the corridor and were ready to go. Let's continue on. The three of us walked through the corridor steadily and slowly, and I picked up the camera in my hand, wanting to record everything that happened at this moment. I don't know why, but the raindrops falling from the sky in the camera screen seemed to be controlled, falling at a slow speed visible to the naked eye (the distance it moved each time could be seen clearly), until they fell into the soil. The rain falling from the sky, the black tiles, the white walls, and the slightly dotted green, the "Chinese black and white" really made people sigh, and because of my insufficient knowledge, I didn't know how to describe the beauty in front of me to everyone. After leaving the corridor, there is a ginkgo forest (I don't remember it very clearly, I just remember the yellow color similar to ginkgo, and the trees are also very similar to the ginkgo trees I have seen in Chengdu) where people can walk and think (I think the atmosphere here is very suitable). There are not many trees planted, only on both sides of the road, and the road surface is sticky with fallen leaves. A small river was dug in the middle of the road, and a small stone arch bridge was built over the river.
After walking through this "Thinking Forest" (let's call it Thinking Forest for now), we came to the place where students mainly study. During the period, we also encountered two or three places selling academy souvenirs, but I think the prices are generally expensive, and the appearance is okay. (eg: a postcard is 28 yuan) When we arrived at the main tourist area of the academy, we saw a room introducing the history of the academy, as well as the place where teachers taught and students took classes in ancient times... You can see plaques with words almost everywhere in the entire Yuelu Academy. You can see plaques with words when you go out (in the middle front, on the left and right), and when you enter the door, you can see plaques with words, such as "Swen Yipai", "Xiaoxiang Huaishi"..., and "Zhong", "Lian" and so on carved on stone tablets... Every plaque and every word has very interesting explanations and meanings, so it is recommended that friends still sign up for a tour guide group, and the fun of this trip will be doubled.
When you go to Changsha, you must visit Yuelu Academy, but you must pay attention to the route, as we took the wrong route.
⭐If you want to go shopping faster and save time, you must go to the Hunan University gate! Go to the Hunan University gate!
The correct order of visiting is:
⭐Walk around HUST—Enter Yuelu Academy from HUST (this is the main entrance of the academy)—Exit from the back door of Yuelu Academy—Go to Aiwan Pavilion on the back mountain.
⏰Time: The whole journey takes about two hours, and it can be faster if you don't listen to the explanation in the academy. After visiting the Aiwan Pavilion, if you want to go to Yuelu Mountain behind, you can take a bus up the mountain. If you don't want to go, you can go back to Huda and take a taxi to leave.
=====I am the dividing line====
Let me tell you about our somewhat tricky route that day, so that you don’t have to take a detour. I just wanted to visit the academy, and I saw in the guide that there was a cable car, so I took a taxi and told the driver to go to the cable car entrance (I later learned that this was actually the entrance to Yuelu Mountain. From this entrance, you have to climb over Yuelu Mountain to reach the academy on the other side). After I got there, I asked the ticket booth what was the fastest and most labor-saving way to get to the academy? The answer was not the cable car! After going up the cable car, I had to walk a distance to change to the other side.
✨The fastest and most labor-saving way is the scenic area's environmentally friendly vehicle!
The route of the eco-friendly car: take the car up the mountain (about ten minutes), change cars on the spot and go down the mountain (another ten minutes), and arrive at the academy.
Although the mountain is not steep, it is tiring to climb. It will probably take at least one or two hours. I was too tired to climb the mountain after leaving Zhangjiajie. You can see the panoramic view from the top of the mountain. It is nothing special at ordinary times. It is worth mentioning that you can see red leaves here in late autumn. It seems to be one of the four major maple viewing spots in China. But it was not late autumn when we went there, so forget it. So we took a car up and down, and finally walked from the back door of the academy to the front door. We did a reverse tour throughout the whole process and did not hire a guide (the guide was at the front door!) 🙄
Having said so much, I hope it can help those who are going there to avoid taking detours. Have a nice trip~
Yuelu Academy was founded in the 9th year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty (976 AD). It is one of the four major academies in ancient China and is known as the "Millennium Academy". It is not only an important birthplace of Confucian culture, but also the predecessor of Hunan University, and it still retains its teaching function.
Tickets can be booked through the WeChat official account of "Yuelu Academy", and tickets are 40 yuan; tickets can be checked with your ID card or the QR code in the order.
During the Five Dynasties, two monks, Zhixuan and others, built houses and set up schools in Yuelu, forming the prototype of academies. In the ninth year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty (976 AD), Zhu Dong, the governor of Tanzhou, established Yuelu Academy and invited Zhou Shi to be the first principal. In 1015 AD, Emperor Zhenzong of Song Dynasty, Zhao Heng, appreciated Zhou Shi's talent and summoned him to the gate, and gave him the name "Yuelu Academy". Yuelu Academy then became one of the four major academies in China.
Yuelu Academy is one of the four most famous academies in Chinese history (the other three are Yingtianfu Academy, Bailudong Academy and Songyang Academy). It is located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain. As one of the oldest institutions of learning in the world, its ancient traditional academy buildings have been completely preserved to this day.
The ancient buildings of Yuelu Academy are divided into five major architectural patterns: teaching, book collection, sacrifice, garden, and memorial. Most of the existing buildings are relics of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The layout of its ancient buildings adopts a courtyard form with central axis symmetry and multiple depths. The main buildings such as the front gate, the main gate, the second gate, the lecture hall, and the imperial library are concentrated on the central axis, and the lecture hall is arranged in the center of the central axis. The dormitory and the sacrificial shrine are arranged on both sides. This design also reflects the social ethical relationship of Confucian culture with orderly respect, hierarchy, and clear priorities.
Yuelu Academy was originally a schoolhouse built by two monks, Zhixuan and others, in the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties. In the ninth year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty (976 AD), Zhu Dong, the governor of Tanzhou, officially established Yuelu Academy on its site and hired Zhou Shi as the first principal. Today, Hunan University regards this year as the first year of its founding. When other famous universities celebrated their 100th anniversary, Hunan University claimed that it had been established for more than a thousand years, directly killing other famous universities.
Under Zhou Shi's leadership, Yuelu Academy became one of the four major academies in just over 20 years. Emperor Zhenzong of Song personally summoned the principal Zhou Shi and personally wrote the plaque "Yuelu Academy". In the third year of Qiandao in the Southern Song Dynasty (1167 AD), the Neo-Confucianist Zhu Xi visited and held a "lecture" with the then principal Zhang Zai for more than two months, setting a precedent for lectures in Chinese academies and making the two ordinary chairs in the lecture hall of Yuelu Academy almost become a sacred altar of Chinese culture.
Yuelu Academy is one of the four most famous academies in Chinese history. It is located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River in Changsha, Hunan, a famous historical and cultural city in China. As one of the oldest institutions of learning in the world, its ancient traditional academy buildings have been completely preserved to this day. Every courtyard, every stone tablet, every brick and tile, and every lotus in the wind sparkles with the humanistic spirit tempered by time.
Aiwan Pavilion is just behind the Yuelu Academy. Walking down the mountain to visit the academy, you will find a quiet and simple building, like a garden, which makes you feel peaceful. The academy has a Confucian Temple dedicated to Confucius, and another temple to commemorate Zhu Xi, the two Cheng brothers, Wang Fuzhi and other great Confucian scholars. Reading the history of the academy, you will understand the cultural heritage of Hunan and Xiangxi, and feel that the land of China is full of outstanding people and beautiful scenery.
Yuelu Academy is one of the four major academies in China. Many literati such as Zhu Xi came here to give lectures. There is also Quzi Temple in the academy, as well as the Aiwan Pavilion, which is famous for Du Mu's poem: "I stop my car and sit to enjoy the maple forest in the evening, the frosted leaves are redder than the flowers in February." It is said that when the maple leaves turn red in autumn and winter, the mountaintops are filled with tourists who come to admire them.
We visited Yuelu Academy in the drizzle. Maybe because of the rain, there were not many tourists in the academy, and it seemed very quiet. The couplet at the entrance of the academy reads: "Only Chu has talents, and they are flourishing here", which means that Chu is really a place where talents come from, and Yuelu Academy is a place where talents gather. It makes people sigh! Entering the academy, there are white walls and gray tiles, pavilions, ancient trees, stone bridges, stone benches, bamboo forests, streams, ponds, and drizzles in the sky. In such an environment, visiting my country's thousand-year-old academy, leaning on the railing to pay tribute or sitting quietly to watch the rain, all make people think about it and feel relaxed and happy. Maybe even on a sunny day, there may not be such a mood. Haha, it's worth the trip!
It started raining on the way to Yuelu Academy. When we went out in the morning, the weather forecast didn't say it would rain, so we didn't pack an umbrella, so we were dumbfounded... We found a place to hide from the rain for a while, and only restarted the original route when it was very light. During this time, we tried to search for nearby cafes many times... because it was really cold... we wanted to find a hot cup of coffee indoors as soon as possible!
Yuelu Academy, located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River, has been established since the 9th year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty. Aunt Xue and I just climbed the mountain and looked at it from afar, because when we walked to the door, we found a long queue at the ticket office...mostly elderly people, and we both felt that we didn't have such a high level of cultural attainments, so we planned to go in and be immersed in it without queuing. If we had to queue, then...we wouldn't force it...
Moreover, I think the mountain climbing is more interesting, and I discovered many new and surprising parts of nature that I had taken for granted. For me, this is more interesting than visiting the historical objects in the academy, and it can give me more feelings.
Tickets for Yuelu Academy are 50 yuan per person and it takes about two hours to visit the whole place.
Tour order:
Visit Hunan University—Yuelu Academy (enter through the main gate, exit through the back gate)—Aiwan Pavilion
Hunan University Yuelu Academy and Yuelu Mountain are all very close and can be visited together. However, since I just came from Zhangjiajie and really didn't want to climb a mountain, I didn't go to Yuelu Mountain.
Going down the hill along the Aiwan Pavilion is the academy, with a ticket price of 50 yuan. It is one of the four ancient academies, which has been full of books for thousands of years. It evolved into Hunan University in the 20th century. Now it continues to teach and educate people as a college of Hunan University. The layout is roughly the same as other academies, with the academy on the left and the Confucius Temple on the right. The building looks like a newly built retro building with a strong smell of paint.
If you have time, you may want to go in and take a walk, the artistic conception is still there.
There are still a lot of people even if it is not a holiday. Most of them are tour groups, many of which are student groups, and they are very noisy. The service in the scenic area is very poor, and the experience is not good. The buildings are also newly built in the style of antiques, without any lingering charm. There is no fragrance of books, only the smell of money. It is better to take a slow tour in the university campus.
In cultural places, you must hire a director. These tour guides should be at least at the graduate level. Set aside at least half a day to learn and appreciate slowly.
There are almost no ancient monuments, all modern buildings. You can go there if you have time, but forget it if you are in a hurry.
The scenery of Yuelu Academy is nice, it's nice to take a walk, the ticket is 40 yuan
Yuelu Academy is one of the four major academies in ancient China.
If you study in someone else's university, you would probably be very happy.
Changsha is one of the representative attractions, located on Yuelu Mountain, with a long history, simplicity and tranquility.
The national key universities in ancient times trained many talents.
It is one of the four major academies in ancient China and is now a cultural window and cultural business card of Changsha City.
One of the four major academies in China, it is located at the foot of Lushan Mountain and on the bank of Xiangjiang River.
One of the four famous academies and one of the must-see attractions in Changsha.
One of the four major academies, the environment is quiet, and the academy museum is worth a visit
Yuelu Academy is also just average and cannot be considered a separate scenic spot.
Yuelu Academy is located at the foot of the eastern side of Yuelu Mountain on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River in Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is a traditional ancient Chinese academy building and one of the four famous academies in Chinese history.
It's much smaller than I thought, and I can finish the tour in half an hour. The ticket price is 50, and it seems that it will be reduced to 40 from April 15th?
One of the four major academies in China, it is simple and elegant, with few tourists, beautiful scenery and great tranquility. It is where students from Hunan University take classes.
The whole feeling is quiet and simple. There is a constant stream of visitors. There are even students wearing Republic of China costumes taking graduation photos. Looking at them, it seems as if you have traveled back to the Republic of China era.
Yuelu Academy, located in Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area, a national 5A-level scenic spot on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River in Changsha City, Hunan Province, is one of the four famous academies in ancient China. The main buildings include the main gate, the second gate, the lecture hall, the half-school, the teaching hall, the Baiquan Pavilion, the Imperial Library, the Xiangshui Sutra School, the Confucian Temple, etc., and each part is connected to each other, fully showing the magnificent and magnificent scene of ancient Chinese architecture. The academy was first built in the ninth year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty. It has gone through the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. In the late Qing Dynasty, it was changed to Hunan Higher School. It is still an affiliated institution of Hunan University. It has a history of more than a thousand years and is a rare "thousand-year-old institution" in the world.
As one of Changsha's most famous cultural landscapes, it is worth a visit, but the ticket price is a bit expensive.
Yuelu Academy, one of the four great academies in ancient my country and a "millennium institution of learning"
I had high expectations, but it was not as I expected. The main reason was that the ticket was too expensive, 50 yuan. But the inside was not that great. It should be free.
The courtyard is quiet and peaceful, with a pleasant environment. It is a great place to study.
Hunan University's Yuelu Academy is a thousand-year-old academy with a long history and rich cultural heritage, and even its pavilions and towers exude an air of books.
I just finished reading If This Is the History of Song Dynasty. The author didn't give a high evaluation to Master Zhu Xi, but here, Master Zhu is a saint, and the Zhu-Zhang meeting is passed down through the ages. As for Zhu Xi's theory, everyone has their own opinions. Here, I don't care how profound its cultural atmosphere is, but this pavilion makes me linger.
It happened to be a rainy day. I walked around this group of attics, listened to the rain from the balcony, and watched the raindrops fall onto the black tiles and turn into white silk to hang down to the ground. My heart also became peaceful. The light music "The Wizard of Oz" was the most suitable to express the situation at the moment.
The Yuelu Academy on Yuelu Mountain in Changsha is one of the four major academies in China. I didn't go in to visit because I didn't have much time.
Yuelu Academy on Yuelu Mountain in Changsha is one of the four major academies in China. The others are Yingtian Academy in Suiyang, Shangqiu, Henan, Bailudong Academy in Lushan, Jiujiang, Jiangxi, and Songyang Academy in Songshan, Dengfeng, Zhengzhou, Henan. Yuelu Academy was founded in the ninth year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty (976 AD). It was a place for "lectures", "book collection" and "sacrifices" in ancient times. Although it has gone through thousands of years, the ancient buildings in the academy are well preserved. Yuelu Academy is charged, with tickets of 50 yuan each. People aged 60 to 69 can buy half-price tickets of 25 yuan with their ID cards. According to the traditional ancient architectural structure, the main axis running from east to west is successively located with the "front gate", "Hexitai", "gate", "second gate", "lecture hall" and "imperial book building". On the north and south sides are "teaching hall", "half-learning hall" and "Baiquan Pavilion", etc. The overall layout is orderly and the main and secondary are clearly distinguished, which fully reflects the essence of Confucian culture. Chinese "Academies" are inseparable from the "Confucian Temple". "Yuelu Academy" also has a courtyard called "Confucian Temple", which is separated from "Yuelu Academy" by a wall. Its main axis is parallel to the main axis of "Yuelu Academy". From front to back, they are "Dacheng Gate", "Dacheng Hall" and "Chongsheng Temple" respectively.
Yuelu Academy is also famous for preserving a large number of steles and cultural relics. The only problem is that the tickets are a bit expensive. The academy has become so commercial.
As one of the four major academies, it does have a rich cultural heritage that can be carefully appreciated.
The ticket to Yuelu Academy is 50 yuan, pay with WeChat QR code. When I went there, it happened to be an outdoor education practice class of Changsha school. A bunch of kids were copying their homework. It was really lively. It felt like the places were almost the same after going around and around, and I almost got lost.
The academy is beautiful all year round and has a strong cultural atmosphere
Highly recommended. A very quiet place, full of books and pleasant scenery. See the pictures for appreciation.
The holy land of Hunan culture is the brilliant birthplace of Chinese culture since the Song Dynasty.
In June, many graduates wearing clothes from the Republic of China period will take photos at the academy.
It was quite chilly in the academy in October, but the sunlight refracted through the trees and hit our bodies, adding a touch of warmth to the gloomy climate.
The entrance fee to Yuelu Academy is 50 yuan for adults, which is a bit expensive and not worth it. If there is no one to explain, there is not much to see because you don’t understand.
Yuelu Academy is worth a visit. It is located on the campus of Hunan University. The back door leads to Aiwan Pavilion and the front door leads to Hunan University. Tickets are 50 yuan.
I heard it is one of the four major academies, so I must come and see it. 50 yuan is a bit expensive, but you can still spend some time there.
I walked a long way to find it, but because I needed a ticket, I just passed by and didn't go in.
Take a quick tour and feel the mood of the students at that time.
It is recommended to take public transportation, and never drive there by yourself, as there are too many cars and no place to park. You need to show your ID card when buying tickets. Yuelu Academy, as one of the four most famous academies in Chinese history, has been destroyed and rebuilt seven times, and the main existing buildings are relics of the Qing Dynasty. In addition to the stone tablets, bricks and tiles, and plaques inside the academy, the antique buildings and Chinese gardens are also worth seeing. In addition, there is also the Chinese Academy Museum in Yuelu Academy, which collects many manuscripts and plaques from ancient academies.
As a historic site, the renovation is too obvious. When I went there, the Imperial Library was under construction.
Yuelu Academy was already crowded with tourists taking photos early in the morning, but the bookish atmosphere here could not be concealed... The green roof, black tiles and white walls are typical Anhui architectural colors in my eyes. There is a small courtyard at the west gate of the park, which looks like Du Fu's Thatched Cottage if you look closely.
The souvenir shop of Yuelu Academy is a small surprise. There are many kinds of items in the shop, such as inscriptions, small notebooks, paperweights, wooden bookmarks, coasters, etc. When you go to the academy, you can go around and have a look. It is very suitable for bringing gifts or souvenirs.
50 yuan per person, there were so many people. I watched from the door for a while and then left.
The scenery and air of Yuelu Academy are really nice. The ticket is 50 yuan. It is clearly written on the ticket that the academy recruits postdoctoral, doctoral, master's and undergraduate students. Welcome to apply!
Yuelu Academy is located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain. It is one of the four famous academies in Chinese history (the other three are Yingtian Academy (now on the banks of Nanhu Lake in Suiyang District, Shangqiu, Henan), Songyang Academy (now Mount Song in Dengfeng, Zhengzhou, Henan), and Bailudong Academy (now Mount Lu in Jiujiang, Jiangxi)). It was first built in the Northern Song Dynasty and was destroyed in wars several times during the Yuan, Ming, Qing and Republic of China periods but was rebuilt later. It is known as the "Millennium Academy".
There is nothing worth appreciating inside. I feel like I lost the 50 yuan for the ticket. Before I went in, I felt that since I was in Changsha, I should go to the more famous Yuelu Academy. But then I went in and felt that there was nothing there. It was all rebuilt. I thought I would feel the ancient academy when I went in, but I was very disappointed. Personally, I suggest you not to go. You can climb Yuelu Mountain instead.
Yuelu Academy is very small, and the 50 yuan ticket price is average. There is an academy museum inside, but you can skip it if you are short on time. Yuelu Academy is located inside Changsha University, and you can climb Yuelu Mountain after going out the back door.
The academy was founded in the Northern Song Dynasty, with five lecture halls and 52 dormitories. This laid the foundation for the teaching part of the academy. After that, it went through the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and the school remained unchanged. Now it has become an academy under Hunan University. After a thousand years, it has been a "thousand-year-old academy". If you don't plan to climb the mountain, but just want to see Yuelu Academy and Aiwan Pavilion, remember to enter from the south gate. Both are not far from here.
Hunan University retains the layout of a large private school in ancient times. The couplet at the entrance is particularly domineering. There is also an academy museum inside that introduces the history of academies across the country.
Yuelu Academy is one of the famous "Four Great Academies" in Chinese history and the best-preserved ancient academy. It is located in Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area, Changsha City. In the ninth year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhu Dong, the governor of Tanzhou, formally founded Yuelu Academy on the basis of the monks' school. Yuelu Academy in the Northern Song Dynasty entered its heyday and he personally wrote the plaque "Yuelu Academy". In the third year of Qiandao, Zhu Xi visited and discussed with Zhang Zai, and held the famous "Zhu Zhang Lecture" in history. There was an endless stream of people coming to listen to the lecture. People at that time described it as "the crowds of carriages and horses at one time, and the water in the drinking pond dried up immediately". Yuelu Academy has gone through the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and was officially named Hunan University in 1926. After thousands of years, the music and singing have never stopped, so it is known as the "Millennium Academy".
The environment inside is very good, and you can get a glimpse of the scene of students studying there many years ago.
Yuelu Academy is located in Yuelu Mountain. It is a very popular tourist attraction. You can feel the style of ancient schools in it. The ticket is 50 yuan, but some things such as guqin performances are charged separately.
As one of the four major academies in China in history, its courtyards, stone tablets, bricks and tiles exude a strong humanistic spirit. The summer heat inevitably brings restlessness and disturbance. Walking in the deep courtyard, looking at the ancient trees and inscriptions, my mood gradually calms down.
Yuelu Academy, Yuelu Mountain. These two places are next to each other, and the academy is at the foot of the mountain. At the same time, Yuelu Academy is in Hunan University, so going to Yuelu Academy is equivalent to visiting Hunan University. It is a bit far from the previous Orange Island area. It is quite far to take a bus from the First Normal School, and you have to change buses in the middle. Because it is a holiday, there are many people and cars near Yuelu Mountain, and it is a bit congested.
There are many cultural relics and historical allusions in it. It is recommended to hire a tour guide. We listened to it while we were there and understood most of it. The visiting time of this kind of cultural attractions is relatively flexible. If you just take a quick look, it will be very fast. If you listen carefully, it will take a long time. It depends on personal preference.
There is a cultural and creative store in Yuelu Academy where you can buy some things. I remember there was also a ruler that the master used to measure 50 boards.
Opposite the Aiwan Pavilion is the back door of Yuelu Academy! So we started our visit from the back door! It was quite comfortable to walk slowly and leisurely!
Less than a hundred meters down from the Aiwan Pavilion is the back door of Yuelu Academy. There is a fee to visit the academy (50 yuan per person, half price for students).
Yuelu Academy is one of the four major academies in ancient my country. It is a Chinese-style courtyard building with pavilions, towers, winding corridors, and many historical sites. You can experience them carefully if you have time.
I personally think Yuelu Academy is a must-see attraction in Changsha, especially for families with children. Let the children experience the academy with a thousand years of cultural history. The cleansing of the soul is far more important than book education! The ticket price for the academy is 50 yuan for adults, 25 yuan for children, and 80 yuan for guides for up to 8 people. The tour time is about 2.5 hours.
Every brick and tile, every sign and plaque of the academy records the times and the vast Chinese culture!
In Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area, the ticket is 50 yuan per person, which feels very average. We went in for a walk without any explanation and then came out. The 50 yuan ticket is not worth it.
Not far from the Aiwan Pavilion is Yuelu Academy, one of the four famous academies and a rare "millennium institution of learning". It is located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain. It would be great to study in such a place with outstanding people and beautiful scenery.
Tickets are 50 yuan, and you can get half price with a student ID. Looking down at the academy, the environment inside the academy is quiet, the layout is clear, and the bamboo forest and tile eaves give people a feeling of winding paths leading to secluded places.
Although Yuelu Mountain is a national 5A-level scenic spot, it does not charge admission.
Only the Yuelu Academy in the scenic area sells tickets separately, 50 yuan per person. Aiwan Pavilion is at the back door of Yuelu Academy. Yuelu Academy was founded in the Song Dynasty and has a history of a thousand years. It is one of the four ancient academies. It is a thousand-year-old institution of learning. The environment inside is very good. The courtyards are connected by green pines and bamboos. The buildings are both elegant and grand. Go out from the main gate of Yuelu Academy. It is the campus of Hunan University. It is also the south gate of Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area. There is a snack street near the south gate.
