Populus euphratica is the earliest group of trees and is a "living fossil" of plants. The taproot of a Populus euphratica can penetrate more than 100 meters into the earth.
"Alive for a thousand years without dying, dead for a thousand years without falling, fallen for a thousand years without decaying", this is the portrayal of the life of Populus euphratica forest.
The dense poplar trees are of various shapes and forms. Walking in the dense poplar forest is like entering a mythical wonderland.
The thousand-year-old dead poplar trees, the stunning life landscape and the good light and shadow conditions make this a paradise for photography enthusiasts.
The scenic area is located in the arid Gobi Desert, so visitors should be prepared for sun protection, wind protection, and sand protection all year round, and bring sunglasses, headscarf, lip balm and other items.

The desolate "Strange Forest" is said to be the place where the immortal souls of General Hei and his soldiers reside. According to legend, there was a defender in Heicheng named Harabater (General Hei), who was brave and good at fighting, and his reputation spread far and wide. Later, a large army invaded Gongcheng and cut off the river. General Hei led his troops to break through the siege without reinforcements or drinking water. Before going to the battle, General Hei threw more than 70 carts of gold and silver treasures and a Xixia crown, the treasure of the city, into the dry well in the city. In order to prevent his family from being ravaged by the invaders, General Hei pushed his two children into the well and buried them with soil. General Hei led his soldiers out of the city, fighting all the way, and finally died in the strange forest not far from the west of the city.
I had originally refused to get up early again to watch the sunrise... because I had already gotten up early for four days in a row, and it was really too cold... but my gay friend A Pu forcibly dragged me into the car, and I thought since I was already here, I just gritted my teeth and went.
After arriving there, it turned out that the trip was worthwhile. The sunrise over the strange forest and the Juyan Lake were completely different feelings.
In the morning light, the branches of various shapes in the strange forest present a peculiar and weird beauty.
The clouds slightly blocked the sun but allowed us to see it more clearly.
The strange forest is 15 kilometers away from Heicheng. Walking along the wooden plank road into the depths of the forest, the scene there is even more shocking, as if you have come to an ancient battlefield with corpses everywhere. When the sun is about to set, in the afterglow of the setting sun, walking in the strange forest, looking at the tragic scene, can't help but make people tremble with fear and a little creepy. Taking pictures of the sunset in the strange forest has always attracted photography enthusiasts. The dead poplars in various postures under the sunset give people a shock to the soul! It is a kind of incomplete beauty! Sad beauty!
Running in the desert, chasing the sunset. From the Black Water Ancient City to the Strange Forest, you need to take a transfer bus. Because I didn't expect so many people to line up for the bus, I regretted that I couldn't reach the best viewing point of the Strange Forest before sunset. I only hurriedly captured a bright red in the sky in my camera. When the sun sets at the end of the desert, I have to say that the sunset in the Strange Forest is too beautiful.
The sun gradually sets into the end of the desert, and the blood-red scene is somewhat tragic.
After the Heishui River was diverted, all the poplar trees died. The dead trunks of the trees, exposed to the scorching sun and polished by wind and sand, glowed an eerie white light. They leaned left and right, looked hideous and terrifying. People called it the "strange forest," and it was the swan song of the poplar forest in the Gobi Desert.
Today, the strange forest has been surrounded by a circle as a scenic spot, with several wooden plank roads winding around the area, allowing you to touch the weathered tree branches and trunks up close.
Most of the dead poplar trees are left with only their trunks. Some are standing with their chests puffed out, some are crawling, some are howling to the sky, some are expressing their grief for the world, and they stand tall in the desert, refusing to fall down, as if they had just experienced a fierce battle. The corpses are scattered all over the place, looking hideous and terrifying, and extremely tragic.
Some poplar trees are like warriors who wring their hands and howl to the sky, their upright trunks standing stubbornly in the wind and sand, demonstrating the touching legend of "standing firm for a thousand years"; some are like heroes who died in the battlefield, crawling on the ground refusing to yield, telling the magical story of "being immortal after a thousand years"; the surviving or regenerated poplar trees look up to the sky, like a battle flag fluttering in the wind. Some say that the strange forest is the lonely souls of the soldiers who died in the Black City.
The sun is setting and is almost at its last rays. The remains of the poplar trees have turned into shadows in the sunset, embedded in the blood-red afterglow, further highlighting their skinny and poignant beauty. Time is silent and life is speechless.
Each poplar tree has its own posture. The afterglow of the setting sun permeates the "strange forest", and those withered branches point straight to the sky. The silhouettes under the backlight are tragic and magnificent.
The dead poplars are full of life, as if telling their last tenacious struggle. Some of them look like they have just laid down, and you can still smell its scent.
The strange forest here was formed by the death of a large area of Populus euphratica. Due to the unique decay resistance of Populus euphratica and the dry climate of the desert, a large area of dead Populus euphratica trunks still stand upright in the Gobi Desert.
Some withered branches twisted and stretched, some trunks cracked and struggled to stand. Especially in the backlight of the sunset glow, the lights are bizarre, strange and magical, forming a strange and sad landscape, which gives people awe of life and taboo of death.
Strange forest, - only your death becomes a landscape, allowing people to appreciate the quiet beauty of time;
Only your remains become a tombstone, making people experience the sorrow of the years; only your relics become a cemetery, reminding people of the preciousness of ecology.
It takes a lot of time to find the dead trees of various shapes and silhouettes after dusk. Please prepare dry food for lunch. You need to record your fingerprints at the exit for the second entry to the park, so that you can enter the park the next day with the original ticket.
The Strange Forest is a dead poplar forest. Only a small part of it survives. The rest are just dry branches of various shapes. The slender branches stretch to the sky, with unique shapes, so it is called the Strange Forest. It is worth seeing. You can watch the sunset in the strange forest in the evening. The so-called "poplars will not fall down for three thousand years after death, and will not rot for three thousand years after falling down" probably means this. The strange forest in the scenic spot is fenced off and protected. Tourists can only watch and take pictures of poplar trees on the roads marked in the scenic area. There is also a camel riding project here, you can ride a camel to visit the strange forest. In general, the strange forest is not big, and you can reach the gate of the scenic area after walking.
This is a dead poplar forest, but most of the trees still stand tall in the wind and sand. The strong wind sharpened the dead branches of the poplars, but could not thin the trunks, making this poplar forest unique and weird.
Evening is the best time for the strange forest to perform, and the sunset and sunset are perfect props.
Although all travelers head for the sunset, they should not just stare at the west, but also look back. Under the pink sky in the east, the strange forest stained with the sunset is also very beautiful.
When you walk into this strange forest, you will be shocked by the large number of dead poplar trees. They seem to be telling a tragic story of separation and death, and the relationship between life and death, making you feel the magic and power of nature.
To the east of the Ruoshui Populus euphratica area, in a narrow strip of land about 7 to 8 kilometers from north to south, there is a dead poplar forest, which is called the Strange Forest because of its strange shapes. The Strange Forest is actually formed by the death of a large area of poplar trees, that is, the poplar trees die but do not fall, and fall but remain immortal. Due to the inadequate management of the scenic area, it took some time. When we arrived at the Strange Forest at sunset, we took a few photos hastily, then climbed to the top of the sand slope and waited quietly for the sunset. At dusk, facing the desert, the setting sun, and the dead trees, people were infected by an inexplicable desolate and tragic atmosphere. The poplars in the sea of sand were even more beautiful and unique in the night, and the sunset was still very beautiful. After the sunset, we went to the ferry station
There are many shuttle buses at the shuttle station, and even more tourists. Tourists line up in front of each bus to get on, and the scene is a bit chaotic. The driver is unprofessional and the management is speechless. It's so dangerous. Who is responsible if an accident happens? With such a driver, it's not surprising that there was no shuttle bus in the scenic area on the afternoon of October 10. It's incredible.
The forest was much bigger than I had imagined, but it seemed like one tree per person wasn’t enough, so I kept walking in…
The Black City Strange Forest is the core of the entire scenic area and the only way to the exit for group tourists. The road is narrower and the flow of people seems more turbulent.
This scenic spot must be visited at sunset, the effect of the photo is particularly desolate and ancient, with artistic conception
It should be considered an educational scenic spot, with all the strange and bizarre tree shapes, which are caused by ecological damage and serve as a warning!
Thousands of years later, the poplar trees are no longer distinctly yellow and green, but are still rooted in the desert, forming a tenacious and unyielding forest of strange trees.
If you experience it carefully, you can especially feel the power of time and the insignificance of the self.
Sunrise, sunset, starry sky, moonrise, you can take pictures of different scenes, highly recommended
The strange forest is 28 kilometers southwest of Dalaihub Town, Ejina Banner. It is actually formed by the death of a large number of poplar trees.
The strange forest is actually formed by the death of a large number of poplar trees. This dead forest seems to tell the world about its strong desire for the water of life, reflecting their indomitable spirit of fighting against the harsh natural environment.
I suggest you spend a day in the strange forest. It is worth staying here for a day. For details, you can see my travel notes http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/11567278.htmlr
Located in Heishui City of the Western Xia Dynasty, the Heishui River was diverted due to war, causing the poplar trees to lack water and wither in drought, leaving them in various shapes and forms, a desolate scene. Hence, there is a spirit of the poplar trees that they will not die for a thousand years and will not decay for a thousand years after death.
The sunset is beautiful! It's worth going. If you want to go out after retirement, you can go and watch the humanistic movies left by our ancestors.
The so-called strange forest is actually a large area of dead poplar trees. Some of them stand up straight, some are hunched, some are standing upright, some are crawling, some are like soaring dragons, and some are like flying elves. The characteristics of poplar trees that they live for a thousand years, stand for a thousand years after death, and remain immortal for a thousand years after falling are best demonstrated there.
As the sun sets, there is a sad atmosphere in the strange forest. Just imagine if a person is in this strange forest, his imagination will be even richer.
There are many bizarre dead poplars in the strange forest. Watching the sunset in the strange forest is a major feature of this scenic spot.
After sunset, the weather became very cold, and the outer shell of the jacket I carried all day finally came in handy. Because I was wearing a skirt that day, I was shivering with cold. High-thread count base socks can't resist the sudden cold after the sun goes down.
At that moment, I never thought about getting to the exit of the strange forest quickly. The strange forest is surprisingly large. Although the scenic area is set up as a one-way street, it still takes a lot of effort. After it gets completely dark, some trees near the exit of the strange forest will light up with blue, green or red lights. There is a little bit of strange light.
But this strange light was the warmest thing for me. Walking on the plank road without street lights, only these lights were faintly projected on the plank road under our feet. With the help of many tourists who continued to move forward together, we did not get lost.
The strange forest looks even more eerie and bizarre at sunset.
Maybe because of the weather, lack of creative inspiration or poor skills, it is impossible to take beautiful photos like the ones taken by the big names on the Internet.
The strange forest is a dead poplar forest
The general way to play in the strange forest is to wait until dusk and sunset, and take silhouette photos with the help of the setting sun.
When I was sitting in the bus and walking back, I felt a strong wind outside the window. At the same time, the clouds in the sky slowly dispersed, the evening sun came out, and the sunset glow appeared! My mood became sunny with the clouds in the sky and the wind in the air! At this time, I completely ignored my physical fatigue and the flying sand and rocks around me, got off the bus and followed a large group of tourists into the strange forest scenic area! It was completely dark, and I left the scenic area and returned to the county town.
When we drove to Gansu, we wanted to go to Ejin Banner to see the Populus euphratica forest, and we still stopped by a place to kill time. On the way there, I was shocked by the dry branches on the front page, and I took a deep breath for this beautiful place.
In late October, the brown scenery is very suitable for the scene. The weather is slightly cool, but the wind is strong, so you still need a coat.
As for this place, I just want to tell you that after you go there, you will tell yourself loudly, "Oh my god, this is simply the most beautiful place in Ejina Banner!" After you go there, you will find that, oh my god, this place is several blocks away from the 3,000-year-old poplar forest!
So, promise yourself to go here for a walk! Even if the wind is strong enough to cover your face
Entering from the entrance of the strange forest, there were so many tourists that I couldn't even move on the plank road. I desperately crossed the crowds, as if I wanted to catch the wind, the clouds, the time, and every weird and exaggerated posture of the poplar trees under the sunset. I have to say, this is a visual feast.
When the sun fades, the warm yellow sky becomes the best canvas for the dead poplar trees. By simply changing the angle, these poplar trees that have been watching for thousands of years will present the most wonderful and peculiar postures, remaining on this painting.
The Strange Forest is a group of dead poplar trees that have become a result of unreasonable development and river diversion. The exaggeratedly dry "corpses" of the poplar trees are immortal, as if they are persistently recording the beauty of the past and also as if they are unwillingly accusing the tragic decline of this place. The Ruoshui River next to the Strange Forest flows slowly, and the dense poplar trees on the river bank complement the river water.
Egna Banner
The train departed from Hohhot in the night, heading west on the majestic Gobi Desert. 12 hours later, we arrived at Ejin Banner. When we went there, the poplar forest had not yet turned yellow, but compared to the bustling sea of people, I prefer the solitary forest. Sitting in a small antelope whose head could touch the roof of the car, we pursued the golden color in the green, the unruly strange forest, the Black Water City of Western Xia, the sunrise of the Juyan Lake, and the sweet Jiashi melon. There are many places that you will feel desolate before going there, but when you are there, if the fatigue of a day's journey can be transformed into mutton and beer from the locals, you will feel comfortable again. This is probably the G-spot of travel, Ejina, my G-spot.
The strange forest is full of dead trees. At dusk, many people come to watch the sunset.
The price of the Weird Forest Ticket is about 200 yuan per person. This point is actually the sunset, and the dead poplar forest is very beautiful. 200 yuan for a sunset is a bit expensive, so we did not go to the regular Weird Forest Scenic Area. There is private land nearby, and there is also a large dead poplar forest. The landowner also sells tickets for this land as a scenic spot. The price can be negotiated directly with the owner. We seemed to be 40 yuan per person at that time, which was affordable and the scenery was actually the same as the regular scenic spot.
The strange forest is the Populus euphratica forest. When the grass and water were lush, the Populus euphratica was just right for nourishing with the blood of the Phoenix, but the world has changed too fast.
These desert elves try their best to preserve their strength until their lives are exhausted, their towering bodies dry up and become immortal, reflecting the afterglow of the setting sun.
Most people choose to take photos of sunrise and sunset here, but there are too many people and it is so crowded that it can push you all the way. People who love photography are better off bringing a telephoto lens and an ultra-wide lens. You also have to look for a good place in advance and wait.
Why give four stars, because the ticket price of Heicheng Weird Forest has increased to 200 yuan. The ticket price of the Forbidden City and the Great Wall is only 60 yuan, and you raised it to 200 yuan, won't your conscience hurt? When we drove from Jinta Poplar Forest to Weird Forest, it was already five o'clock. The driver suggested to play Weird Forest first, and then go to Heicheng on the return trip the day after tomorrow. The ticket is valid for three days, but fingerprints are required.
It's hard to describe the complaints about Black City. The strange forest is quite unique, but I think the most beautiful thing is not the trees in the strange forest, but the colorful sunset at sunset. However, I still feel bad about the 200 yuan ticket.
The strange forest is quite large, and I didn't get to the viewing platform before the mountain went down. But the strange forest made me feel that it was worth the price. Under the setting sun, without any filters, the scenery I took had a desolate and tragic beauty. Especially the sunset glow, in the open environment without any obstruction, the clouds on the horizon kept changing colors, blue, light purple, pink, interweaving, and it was beautiful no matter how you looked at it. You can't record it with a camera or a mobile phone, and your eyes are still the best, so you still have to go and see the scenery in person.
It was already dark when we arrived. But chewing beef jerky and admiring the strange forest at this time was quite artistic and interesting. The strange forest at sunset made you feel like you were in a strange world, with strange tree trunks dancing, screaming, and baring their teeth and claws. This scene was very stylish.
Tips: During the National Day, all tourists need to take a shuttle bus to the Black Water City Ruins (actually it is a man-made wall, I personally recommend not wasting time here), and then take a shuttle bus from Black Water City to the Black City Ruins or the Strange Forest. The general order of sightseeing is to go to the Black City Ruins first, and then rush to the Strange Forest before sunset. It is recommended to enter the park around 4 pm on normal days, but it is necessary to enter in advance during the National Day.
During the 2013 National Day, we went to Gansu and Inner Mongolia to connect to the team. The forest of poplar trees had dried up and died. The poplar trees had been fighting against the harsh environment from birth to death. I really admire them.
I went to the strange forest to take pictures of the sunset. The evening sunlight made the trees look red, and the silhouettes were also unique.
Because of my friend's sunset photo of the strange forest, I have a special expectation for the strange forest. The first moment I approached the strange forest, I had the same feeling as when I went to the poplar forest. Is this a strange forest? I had a big question about why it was so different from what my friend took. When I went deep into the strange forest, I saw its true appearance. The whole scene was like the wreckage left after a war, which made people want to cry unconsciously. The deeper I went, the more uncomfortable I felt. Looking at the remains on the ground, I felt a little distressed: Poplars do not die for a thousand years, and they do not fall for a thousand years after death, and they do not rot for a thousand years after falling. Their only ending is to be buried by wind and sand. The remains on this ground have been preserved for many years after many years of wind, frost, rain and snow. The tenacious perseverance makes people admire it. I shed a tear of heartache, take another look, and say goodbye.
In the evening, the strange forest lights were turned on, and some people came in to take pictures of the night view, but I felt that the beauty of the poplar trees would be much less beautiful without the contrast of natural light.
After leaving Heicheng, we took the scenic shuttle bus to the strange forest. Unlike the poplar forest we saw on the first day, most of the trees here were dead trees that had fallen but not decayed. They were in various shapes. With the setting sun, we deeply felt the tenacious spirit of the poplars.
The strange forest is a large dead poplar forest. Here I can't help but mention the sentence in every travel note of Ejin Banner: the poplar forest lives for a thousand years without dying, dies for a thousand years without falling, and falls for a thousand years without decay. Although dead, you can still see the branches and trunks in various shapes and shapes. Some pierce the blue sky, some bend and spiral, some fall down with a bang, and some crawl on the ground. This is a place where you can take good photos no matter how you take them. My mother and I took pictures until sunset.
It is a sunset spot, so there is no need to set out too early. There are so many desolate yet vibrant "graves" of the legendary poplar forest.
Walking along the plank road, looking at the many dry branches on both sides, I suddenly had the illusion that I was seeing a mass grave.
The trees in the strange forest are some selected representatives of various shapes, and they are given names like "Life and Death Dependence", "Life and Death Separation", and even "God of War", which does not seem to have anything to do with trees.
It's quite a distance to walk along the plank road from the entrance. The signpost of the sunset scenic area in the strange forest also points to a specific viewing platform, which is a very good place to take silhouette photos.
PS: The Strange Forest has two entrances, east and west. It is the right choice to enter from one entrance and exit from the other, and then take the bus back to the entrance of the scenic area. We followed a group of tourists back to the original entrance. Originally, there was no return bus here. Fortunately, other cars in the scenic area saw it and notified the entrance, and another car was sent over.
It is in the same scenic spot as the Black City Ruins. If the weather is good, it is said that there will be stunning views at sunset. Unfortunately, we didn't catch the good weather.
By 7 o'clock, the sun had already set. My friends and I took pictures with our cameras to record the beauty of light and shadow. The strange forest has always been a paradise for photographers. Using the afterglow of the setting sun, you can choose various angles to give full play to your imagination and create amazing works one after another. The poplar trees stand tall in the afterglow of the setting sun, immortal and indestructible, watching the long river and red sun one after another...
If there is an eternity
Then does a soul that has been immortal for three thousand years count?
If there are eight wastelands
Then does the softest heart in the vast desert count?
The immortal soul
Like a declaration of life
The wait for this moment is worth it. I will hold your hand and accompany you through a thousand crazy lives. I will kiss your eyes deeply and accompany you through all your reincarnations.
In the 1990s, as the water level receded and the river changed its course, the once lively poplar trees turned into strange tree trunks, presenting to us a state of "standing dead for a thousand years".
The dusk in the strange forest is one of the beautiful views I look forward to on this trip.
When I first entered the strange forest, I didn’t feel moved, but as I went deeper into the scenic area, listening to the stories told by the poplar trees with their dead trees, my heart began to beat inexplicably.
Some dead trees look like lotuses from a distance, but nothing from a close distance; some look like blooming flowers.
Especially the tree called God of War, which reminds me of General Meng Yi in "The Myth", who killed hundreds of people and died in the battle, but still frightened thousands of soldiers.
When the sun sets and the moonlight rises, the strange forest seems like a werewolf under the full moon. The whispering is replaced by boiling roars, as if they can be resurrected with a will from the moon, and will step out from their feet hidden deep underground and walk towards you.
When we went there, the poplars were not yet yellow, so we did not go to the poplar forest scenic area, but went directly to the strange forest. It was raining when we arrived at the strange forest, which was very depressing. We hid from the rain in the car before entering the strange forest. The sunset came as expected, and watching the sunset in the strange forest was really beautiful. Unfortunately, my photography skills are too poor, and I can't record the beautiful scenery.
The strange forest is worth a visit. Friends who like the desolate feeling of the desert can go there. There are a lot of mosquitoes, so be prepared to prevent mosquito bites. We waited for the sunset in the scenic area, which was not until 8 o'clock. We were almost bitten to death by mosquitoes, but it was worth the wait. It was very beautiful. The scenic area is very large. We went there at the end of April. There were very few people. In the end, only my husband and I were left waiting for the sunset, and there were three photography enthusiasts carrying cameras. It was very empty and desolate. Very good.
The cemetery in the Populus euphratica forest is in the same scenic spot as Heicheng. The best time to visit is in the evening. It will be a wonderful experience to see the silhouettes in the afterglow.
The strange forest is very close to Heishui City. The strange forest is actually formed by the death of a large area of poplar trees. The sunset is around 7 o'clock. The artistic conception of the sunset and the strange forest complement each other. Walking in the strange forest is like entering a mythical fairyland. The withered poplars have various expressions, some are upright, some are hunched, and some are like a dragon. Wandering among them, you can carefully appreciate the charm of the poplars, which are "live for three thousand years without dying, stand for three thousand years after death, and remain immortal for three thousand years after falling..."
The strange forest is a dead poplar forest, which covers a huge area and is surrounded by vast desert. The poplar forest survives here tenaciously in various postures, which is shocking at first sight.
The Strange Forest was originally a primeval forest, but due to lack of water, large tracts of Populus euphratica died. The dead trees are in a miserable and strange state, and each branch has an indescribable strange shape. The various poses of the dead Populus euphratica are a shocking landscape of life, and are even more poignant and beautiful under the setting sun. It is a paradise for photography enthusiasts.
This attraction is in the same scenic area as Blackwater City, and you need to take the scenic area shuttle bus to get there.
A hundred years ago, this area was a primeval forest. Due to natural factors, large tracts of dead poplar trees are leaning and tilting in different postures. Their strange shapes give people a sense of deathly silence and a fairyland wonder in a fairy tale world. It is a vast area that is wide from east to west and long from north to south. The dead poplars are scattered all over the land, presenting an ancient primitive style. In the dark, a hideous and terrifying atmosphere permeates, which makes people shudder.
The Strange Forest and Black Water City are in the same scenic area, covering a very large area. There are large areas of dead poplar forests here, which have not fallen down for three thousand years after death, and their various strange postures are amazing. There is a lot of wind and sand here, so you need to do a good job of wind and sun protection. At sunset, there is a kind of desolate beauty.
When I hurried here, the sun had already set. I wanted to see the most beautiful sunset, but I saw the struggle of life after the sunset, just like the falling flowers after the prosperity, which made me sigh.
This was once a lush poplar forest, but due to the diversion of the river, a large number of trees died. These dead trees are in strange shapes, as if they are telling of their desire for water, and also showing their tenacious struggle against the harsh natural environment.
The ticket price is 120 yuan, and the children get a 70 yuan discount, including the strange forest and the Black City ruins. It was off-season and you could drive in directly. October is the peak season when the leaves of the poplars turn yellow. There were very few people inside, and we met four or five families in total. If our family came in the evening, we would be a little scared. It is a paradise for real photography enthusiasts. It is too big and too desolate. Large areas of poplar forests have become "corpses" everywhere due to drought and water shortage.
Just after we entered for a while, we got separated because there were too many people. The embarrassing thing was that there was no signal on our phones the whole time. What should we do? We took some photos first.
It's really big inside. I took pictures of the sunset and the rising moon, and it slowly got dark. When I went there, this attraction was the most crowded place along the way, but the scenery can make you forget the fatigue of queuing.
We drove almost 900 kilometers just to witness the autumn here. But to be honest, the scenery is really beautiful and it is worth the long journey to see it.
There are two entrances and exits to the strange forest. One entrance is for self-driving, and the other is suitable for people like me who come in by bus. I went in from the place where the scenic bus dropped me off and walked all the way to the main exit of the scenic area. Because it was dark, even though it was 5 o'clock, the sun was still shining brightly. Many photographers waited for the evening light and sunset in the shade, but I needed to go in first to stroll around, step on the spot, and find a suitable angle. Walking next to the desert, there are more dead poplars here. Large tracts of dead branches and rotten wood, lying or falling or still standing on the vast desert, I don’t know how many reincarnations of time have gone through. Although there are fences on both sides of the road, there are still many places to enter the middle of the forest, and you can carefully observe the texture of these tree trunks that have long been covered with traces of wind and sand, like cracks in the cracked earth, full of the vicissitudes of time. Going deeper, you will see many road signs marking some places with more peculiar shapes that are listed as major tourist attractions. Some poplar trees are not even dead. Although the branches and trunks seem lifeless, leaves still emerge from the branches. After countless baptisms of sand and dust, although they are almost turning into earthy yellow, it can be seen that life is still continuing. In this place where the annual precipitation is less than 40 mm, life is blooming. For many pure sightseeing tourists, this place may seem too desolate and monotonous, but for photographers, the strange forest is really a good place for creation. The wide field of vision, no obstruction of complicated things, and convenient framing from multiple angles are my favorite places. It is a place where you can forget yourself and take pictures. The sky is getting darker, the angle of the sunlight is getting lower and lower, and the shadows of the trees are getting longer and longer. The interweaving of light and shadow is more frequent. The sky is no longer blue sky and white clouds. Starting from the end of the west, the orange sky and clouds gradually spread to the whole head. The dead poplars seem to have become monsters in the sky with fangs and claws under the conditions of gradual darkening and backlighting. The dark "tentacles" cover the sky. The dead and desolate visual impact makes people a little excited and uneasy. The sun in the west is already as red as fire, and the few poplar trees in the background that have not yet died have become the finishing touch of the picture. Pressing the shutter against the light, it feels like the sunset on the African grassland, which is really incomparable; and the nearby scenery has become more psychedelic, and the deep blue sky with purple-red has become the best canvas for the dead poplars. All you need to do is change the angle to let these "guards" who have been watching for thousands of years show the most wonderful and peculiar postures and remain in this picture.
I would like to praise the staff of Strange Forest. We arrived late, the sun was about to set, and the last tour bus of Strange Forest had left. We missed it perfectly... After the staff learned about our arrangements and intentions, they arranged a special car for the five of us to take us into Strange Forest. Thank you so much.
Although I didn't catch up with the sun, I was still blessed by God. At least I caught some of the sunset. It was worth the trip. The strange forest is worth a look. However, there are so many vampires (mosquitoes) in the strange forest that they can crawl all over the body... Poor two kids, they were bitten all over the body.
Although the branches and leaves of the poplar forest of strange trees are not very lush, their shapes are very beautiful.
It is worth visiting a place, and only by seeing it with your own eyes can you understand the ups and downs of life, and the joys and sorrows of life.
The sunset in the strange forest is also very beautiful...
Included in the ticket for the Black City-Strange Forest Scenic Area (120 yuan for the scenic area ticket and 40 yuan for the bus.
Warm reminder: The endless strange forest is very large and very similar. Remember not to walk around randomly. Please follow the plank road in the scenic area to avoid getting lost! Remember! Remember!
There were many twisted tree trunks in the strange forest, but one tree that was still growing tenaciously succeeded in attracting our attention. It lived alone but firmly.
I was very shocked to see the poplar forest that stood for a thousand years after death and remained immortal for a thousand years after falling.
The Strange Forest and the Black City Ruins are adjacent to each other. The scenic spot sells package tickets, not individual tickets. The ticket price is 130 yuan per ticket (including the shuttle bus fee). It is recommended to take the shuttle bus to the Black City Ruins first, while the sun shines on the golden sand... good for taking pictures!
After taking enough photos, we took the shuttle bus back to the strange forest to play...until the sun sets, capturing the beautiful moment of the sunset in our camera.
The strange forest is actually formed by the death of a large number of poplar trees. The strange forest is a miracle. It is the poplars that have overcome the harsh Gobi environment with their immortal souls, and it is the unyielding consciousness of the poplars that has stood for thousands of years and has lasted for a long time.
The desolation of the strange forest can only be felt by witnessing it with your own eyes. It really allows you to see the posture of the poplar trees that have not fallen for a thousand years after their death. The sunset in the strange forest is super beautiful. If you arrive in the afternoon, it is recommended to take a look.
You must arrive at this place before sunrise, and then wait slowly for the sunrise, and the changes in light and shadow will allow you to see the beautiful strange forest.
The strange forest is the end of the poplar forest. Nature is like this, and so is life. A thousand-year-old poplar tree will not fall down for a thousand years after it dies, and will not rot for a thousand years after it falls down.
Not far from the mysterious ancient city of Heishui, there used to be a large poplar forest, but now it has become a "strange forest" with only tree trunks left. The poplar trees here have long been dead, and the endless yellow sand is "scattered everywhere", but they stand tall, baring their teeth and claws as if they are trying to make a final struggle with this barren land~~
A large area of dead and dying poplar forest, with its ancient trees leaning to one side and dead branches in strange shapes, looks like immortal lives with souls fighting against the wind, sand and the sky, forming a strange forest of dust raised by the wind!
It is well worth a visit, but unfortunately it is too crowded with tourists during the peak season. The six-kilometer plank road is full of people-painted portraits and parades;
The colorful aunties all have the same pose. Be careful because they will intrude into your camera lens all the time and impolitely!
