Ge Garden

Ge Garden was built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty and is divided into a bamboo viewing area in the north, a garden in the middle, and a residential area in the south.
The garden is famous for its bamboo and rocks. The character “ge” in the name of the garden is half of the character “竹”, which corresponds to the various bamboos in the garden.
The essence of Ge Garden lies in the art of stacking rocks with the theme of the four seasons. The rockeries of the four seasons, “spring, summer, autumn and winter”, each have their own characteristics.
Taking a walk in the bamboo forest in the northern part of the park is also a very pleasant thing. Even on a hot summer day, it is quite cool.

By Knowing each other is as light as water |

Among all the scenic spots I visited on the first day in Yangzhou, only Geyuan is worth recommending. The ticket price of 45 yuan is still very reasonable. It takes about an hour to take a closer look. I saw every scene. Of course, I didn't seriously study the meaning of each rockery. Generally speaking, it is divided into three parts. If you enter from the north gate, you will see the bamboo garden, the rockery, and the residence. If you enter from the south gate, it will be the opposite. Note that the east gate is only for exiting and the north gate is only for entry. I bought a combined ticket with Wang's Xiaoyuan for 55 yuan, and I regret it. I feel that Wang's Xiaoyuan is a low-profile version of the residential part of Geyuan. I walked out in 15 minutes. It was very shabby inside. I could go into every house to see, but it was very boring. It was also a 15-minute walk from Geyuan, so it was not worth going.

Geyuan is the private garden of Huang Zhiyun, the general merchant of Lianghuai Salt during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. It is a typical salt gang building. It is divided into the northern bamboo viewing area, the central garden and the southern residential area. There are many tourist groups in Geyuan, especially concentrated in the southern residential area and the central garden, and there are fewer people in the northern bamboo viewing area. The southern residential area is located on Dongguan Street, so most tourists enter from this gate; the tour guide's explanation focuses on the southern residential area, so it is recommended to listen.

By Fantasy Boat |

The most distinctive feature of Geyuan is the green bamboos planted all over the north and the various types of stones stacked in the middle to create a "spring, summer, autumn and winter" landscape. These places are very beautiful and unique. The southern part is the residential area. The park is not large and it takes 1-2 hours to walk around the whole park. You can enter and exit from the north, south and east gates.

There will be a guide explaining the garden every 20-30 minutes. The advantage is that you can listen to the guide to get the historical background and details that are difficult to grasp by yourself. However, because you may see guides explaining and groups of people walking around everywhere, you will feel like you are on a group tour, and lose the tranquility and comfort of freely viewing the garden.

The He Garden is located in the center of Dongguan Street. You can see it while walking along Dongguan Street. Compared with the He Garden, it is still a little smaller, but the wing rooms at the entrance are quite interesting. People in the past were very particular about living there. Behind it is the garden where they have activities, which is divided into four scenes of spring, summer, autumn and winter. However, there is no guide, so I didn't understand it either. The ticket is 45 yuan bought at the ticket office.

Ge Garden is located in the northeast corner of the ancient city of Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, at No. 10, Yanfu East Road. This private garden of the residence of Yangzhou salt merchants in the Qing Dynasty is famous for its green bamboos and its rockery in spring, summer, autumn and winter. Huang Zhiyun, the general merchant of Lianghuai Salt Industry, expanded it into a residential garden on the basis of the original "Shouzhi Garden" in the Ming Dynasty in the 23rd year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1818 AD). The whole garden is centered on Yiyuxuan. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the four seasons by following the direction of the trend. Ge Garden is novel in purpose and strict in structure, and is a unique example of Chinese gardens.

Ge Garden is also one of the major gardens in Jiangnan. There are Ge Garden and He Garden in Yangzhou. I feel that they are similar in nature, so I only went to one of them. The royal garden's style with the snow scene feels particularly different. I have been to Suzhou Lion Grove before. If there is no snow scene, it is easy to have a sense of aesthetic fatigue. The place is not very big, and two or three hours of play is enough

Ticket price in January: 30 yuan. You can buy it on Taobao for a slightly cheaper price. You can take the "tourist bus" and get off at Geyuan bus stop.

Ge Garden is one of the four famous gardens in China, along with the Summer Palace, the Mountain Resort and the Humble Administrator's Garden. It was built in the 23rd year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1818 AD) by Huang Zhiyun, the general merchant of the Lianghuai Salt Industry. The owner of the garden loved bamboo and the shape of bamboo leaves resembled the Chinese character "Ge", hence the name Ge Garden. The garden is famous for its rockery in spring, summer, autumn and winter.

By Salty and easy to color |

The name Geyuan really makes me curious about this ancient garden house. Why is it given such a delicate, unique and somewhat cute name?

As soon as I walked into the yard, the ubiquitous bamboo revealed the answer to the mystery. The name "Ge Garden" comes from the owner's love for bamboo; and the three bamboo leaves are shaped like the Chinese character "ge". Looking up again, the gloomy sky and the bamboo leaves are just like the lively "ge" on rice paper. This Ge Garden, which is abstract at first sight but vivid when you see it, is really interesting.

Going further in, the garden in the middle is the most interesting part of the entire garden. The scattered pools are cleverly separated by rockery, and the surrounding Taihu stones of various strange shapes that are dazzling show the ingenuity of this garden design.

Perhaps we arrived too early, there were only a few visitors in the garden, so we were able to leisurely explore the scenery. The winding paths in the rockery are interesting, and the scenery framed by the stone caves makes people admire the whimsical idea of changing scenery as they move. It's interesting, a garden that makes people feel involved.

But the most annoying thing is that I didn't understand the layout design before I went to Ge Garden. After I came back, I realized that the biggest feature of Ge Garden is the unique stone stacking art. In the garden with an area of less than 50 acres, four lifelike rockery areas of spring, summer, autumn and winter were opened up, which is the only one in Chinese gardens. I said that this garden is interesting to visit, but it turns out that there is more to it than I understand.

Because the garden gave me such a good feeling, the fan filter made me feel that the bald tree in the yard was full of character.

The Ge Garden is not only home to verdant bamboos, but also to the rockery deep in the bamboo forest, where there are wintersweets standing proudly in the frost, filling the garden with fragrance.

Geyuan is indeed a garden founded on bamboo. With various kinds of bamboo planted in the garden, it is simply a bamboo museum.

Walking through the shadowy bamboo forest, with the gentle breeze and the music without orchestration, I was in such a good mood that I temporarily ignored the shivering cold wind.

The southern part of Geyuan is a residential area. The long alleys between the three courtyards in the east, middle and west give people a sense of time travel. Although it is not very exquisite and luxurious, it can also reflect the wealth of the salt merchant family at that time.

From the south gate of Geyuan, you will reach Dongguan Street, so it is recommended that you enter from the north gate and exit from the south gate. This arrangement is more reasonable.

The rain was getting heavier. It was a bit hard to hold an umbrella, push a stroller, and take care of a baby by yourself, especially in the Geyuan Garden, which was actually an ancient home with all kinds of stairs and houses to go in and out. I had to find a place to put the car down from time to time, and then take the child to play, and then go back to get the car and walk down. In fact, you can only understand the history and some of the tricks of a place like Geyuan by following a tour guide. At the beginning, I took my child to listen to the tour guide hired by a family. She was quite happy. As soon as the tour guide left, she immediately caught up for fear of falling behind. She was more active than those who paid, which made me a little embarrassed. But after a while, she got tired of this game and didn't want to follow her anymore, so I had to follow her blindly. The visit to Geyuan ended in about 2 hours.

Ge Garden is the residential garden of Huang Zhiyun, a salt merchant from Huaibei during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. Why is it called Ge Garden? Because the owner loves bamboo, and he also planted various kinds of bamboo in the garden, so he took half of the word "bamboo" and named it Ge Garden. The whole garden is mainly divided into the southern residence, the central garden, and the northern variety bamboo viewing area. It is a typical representative of private gardens in the south of the Yangtze River. Among them, the four landscapes of "Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter" composed of various plants and stacked stones are more worth appreciating in the garden. I don't know if it's because there were more tourists on the day I visited. Although the landscape of "Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter" is also quite interesting, I always feel that Ge Garden is not delicate enough, whether it is residential buildings or garden landscapes, so just take a slow walk.

By Jason |

The Ge Garden is crowded with tourists, some strolling, some resting. The green trees, red maples, ancient pavilions, and exquisite layout, the elegant architecture and lush flowers and trees complement each other. The changing scenery shows the tranquility and elegance of Chinese gardens. Man and nature, history and reality are perfectly integrated, and there are moving scenery everywhere.

By doudousha |

I personally feel that it is more fun than He Garden. Each has its own characteristics. They are all Jiangnan style gardens. He Garden, Zhu Ziqing's former residence, Ge Garden, and Dongguan Street are almost together and can be combined for fun.

Why is Geyuan considered one of the four famous gardens among the people? Let’s take a look at what Baidu says.

The Four Famous Gardens of China refer to the only four Chinese classical gardens in the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China. They are recognized as the best garden architecture in China. On March 4, 1961, the State Council promulgated the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units. There are four gardens in this list, namely: Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, Summer Palace in Haidian District, Beijing, Mountain Resort in Chengde City, Hebei Province, and Lingering Garden in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province.

In 1992, the People's Daily gathered ideas from all quarters and, with the help of overseas experts, rated the four famous gardens in China as: Yangzhou Ge Garden, Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden, Beijing Summer Palace, and Chengde Mountain Resort. Since then, the four famous gardens in China have had a clear official definition.

Ge Garden is a private garden with a high reputation both at home and abroad. It was built as a residential garden by Huang Zhiyun, the general merchant of Lianghuai Salt Industry, in the 23rd year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1818 AD) on the basis of the original "Shouzhi Garden" of the Ming Dynasty. It has won the title of the third batch of "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units" and "the first batch of national key parks". This residence of Yangzhou salt merchants in the Qing Dynasty is famous for its green bamboos and rockery in spring, summer, autumn and winter. It integrates the rules of gardening and the principles of landscape painting. It was praised by the garden master Mr. Chen Congzhou as "a unique example in China".

Ge Garden is not a large garden, famous for its rockery and stone stacking art. The "Ge" in Ge Garden comes from the owner who loves bamboo, and the bamboo leaves are similar in shape to the Chinese character "Ge".

The real highlight of the garden is the "Four Seasons Rockery", and there are also pictographic lake stones forming the twelve zodiac signs.

By A light boat |

The garden is said to be designed by Shi Tao, who traveled to famous mountains and rivers throughout his life and "searched for all the strange peaks to make drafts", so that he could draw materials from nature in the design of the garden, but dared to break the convention. Therefore, the unique stone stacking art that brings together rockery of all seasons in one garden is well-known.

Ge Garden is famous for its stone stacking art. The four-season rockery made of bamboo shoots, lake stones, Huangshi and Xuanshi integrates the rules of gardening with the principles of landscape painting. It was praised by the garden master Mr. Chen Congzhou as "a unique example in China."

Regarding the rockery for all four seasons, I have found and photographed them all, so in the photos below, there will be an introduction to the corresponding season.

By Grace the Mouse |

Maybe it was because of my preconceived notion. Compared with the He Garden I visited in the morning, I felt that the Ge Garden was slightly inferior. Moreover, the Ge Garden was very small and could be visited in a short time. The more distinctive features were the bamboo and rockery. However, the sky was gloomy and the drizzle continued. The whole garden had the beauty of the misty rain in the south of the Yangtze River.

This private garden of the Yangzhou salt merchant residence in the Qing Dynasty is famous for its bamboos and its rockery in spring, summer, autumn and winter. Huang Zhiyun, the general merchant of Lianghuai Salt Industry, expanded and built it into a residential garden in the 23rd year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1818 AD) on the basis of the original "Shouzhi Garden" in the Ming Dynasty. The garden is famous for its stone stacking art. The rockery in spring, summer, autumn and winter made of bamboo shoots, lake stones, yellow stones and Xuan stones integrates the rules of gardening and the principles of landscape painting. It was praised by the garden master Mr. Chen Congzhou as "a unique example in China". The whole garden is divided into the central garden, the southern residence and the northern variety bamboo viewing area.

Entering the garden from the residence, the first thing you see is the moon-shaped gate with the word "Geyuan" written on the stone tablet. Behind the gate is the spring scene, the summer scene is located in the northwest of the garden, the autumn scene is in the northeast of the garden, and the winter scene is to the east of the spring scene.

The most novel and ingenious part of Geyuan Garden is the Baoshan Building and the Four Seasons Rockery. The Baoshan Building is located between the Summer Mountain and the Autumn Mountain. The mountain embraces the building and the building embraces the mountain. It is the largest and most complete building in the garden. Weddings and funerals in the garden were originally held in this building. The Baoshan Building connects the Summer Mountain and the Autumn Mountain. The corridor on the second floor allows you to enjoy the scenery of both summer and autumn. Therefore, it is jokingly called the "time tunnel" by tourists.

Salt merchants in Yangzhou began to build gardens in the Qing Dynasty, and many excellent classical gardens are still preserved today. Among them, the one with the longest history, the best preservation, and the greatest artistic value is the "Ge Garden" located in the northern corner of the ancient city.

By Quiet Dawn |

Ge Garden is located in the northeast of Yangzhou City. The ticket is 30 yuan. You can book it with APPs such as Ctrip, which can save a few yuan. Ge Garden was founded by Huang Zhiyun, a salt merchant in Lianghuai, on the site of Shouzhi Garden in the Ming Dynasty. The owner of the garden loves bamboo, and bamboo is planted all over the garden. Because the shape of bamboo leaves resembles the word "Ge", it is named "Ge Garden". The entire park is divided into three parts, from north to south, namely the bamboo viewing area, the rockery viewing area, and the residential area. You can enter from the north gate and exit from the south gate. The south gate is the Dongguan Pedestrian Street. There are more than 60 species of bamboo in the bamboo viewing area. Among them, the tortoise shell bamboo is the most peculiar bamboo in the garden. The nodes are like tortoise shells and dragon scales, with bumps, shapes, hardness and roughness. It symbolizes longevity and strength and perseverance. I think the rockery area is the essence. The most famous rockery is the four-season rockery. Different stones are used to show the scenery of the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. It is called the "four-season rockery" and is the most amazing place in Ge Garden. The residential area does not have any major highlights compared to the other two areas, but it is generally recommended.

One of the four major gardens in China, it has the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty. The original owner loved bamboo, and Taihu stone was a common material used in architecture and gardens at that time. It is mainly made of bamboo and Taihu stone. It is divided into four courtyards: residential area and Spring, Dawn, Autumn and Winter. I personally like the scenery of the Summer Garden in the photo. It is very beautiful. The Autumn Garden next to it is a place for reading. Borrowing the line in the book "Diligence as the Path", a staircase was built in the rockery to reach the study on the second floor. Ge Garden was built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. It was the private garden of Huang Zhiyun, the then Lianghuai salt merchant. It is also listed as a part of the Grand Canal of China and is a World Heritage Site. Because the owner of the garden has a special liking for bamboo, he took the word "bamboo" as the name, and thus "Ge Garden" was born. You must go there when you come to Yangzhou.

Follow the guide to start the tour from the back garden, and feel the exquisiteness and care of the southern courtyard along the way. According to the construction model of southern gardens, the scenery is divided by the number of steps. Basically, a turn and a move will bring a different style.

It took 20 years and cost RMB 1.8 billion to build. The various wonderful designs of the garden are the result of the hard work of many craftsmen. The owner moved in at the age of 40 and was executed at the age of 60. Only three daughters survived out of five sons and nine daughters. It is a pity.

Ge Garden is a private garden that is as famous as the four famous gardens in the south of the Yangtze River. It is a must-see attraction when visiting Yangzhou.

Because it is part of the Grand Canal heritage in Yangzhou, it is a must-see. The scenic area is not large and is divided into the North Gate, South Gate and East Gate. Generally, you enter from the North Gate and exit from the South Gate.

Guandong Street is right outside the south gate. From north to south, there are bamboo forest area, rockery area and residential area.

As for Geyuan, I just think it is a garden similar to the Humble Administrator's Garden, and it is indeed very similar to the Suzhou gardens.

Beijing Xihe Garden, Chengde Mountain Resort, and Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden.

The other one is said to be Ge Garden in Yangzhou or Liuyuan Garden in Suzhou.

Ge Garden, No. 10, Yanfu East Road, is the private residence of a major salt merchant in Jiangnan. I won’t go into the history of the garden, but the garden is quiet and secluded, with clear water and trees, and thousands of bamboos, so it is called Ge Garden. A garden built on a single plant - bamboo - is a unique example in the history of Chinese gardens.

In ancient times, transportation was very inconvenient, and the living radius of most people from birth to death was no more than 50 kilometers. As officials and wealthy people, their living range was also very small. Although they had been to faraway places, they might have only been there once in their lifetime. Therefore, they would collect the beautiful scenery from all over the world in their own gardens (gardens), so that they could appreciate and enjoy them at any time. Although they could not go there in person, the small scenery in the garden could also serve as a place for their thoughts. Therefore, as ancient gardens, they would rack their brains to collect various plants, strange stones, buildings, and artworks to fill them.

However, the Ge Garden went the other way, using only one plant - bamboo (45 different species) to decorate the entire garden, and the buildings were built in the form of "official" and "wealth". It can be said that the salt merchants' ideal was to hope that their descendants could be as humble, luxuriant, and tall as bamboo, and that their official and wealth would last forever.

There are also many other scenes in the garden, but they are not as meticulously designed as those in other gardens.

The owner prefers bamboo and plants green bamboo everywhere. It took nearly 20 years to build the garden. It can be seen that the owner is very thoughtful. He divided the back garden into four areas and arranged the rockery, pond and green plants according to the four themes of "spring, summer, autumn and winter". People can experience the four seasons of the year by walking around the garden. Bamboo is planted at the entrance of the back garden to symbolize vitality, and the white stone on the ground also creates the appearance that the spring snow has not yet melted. There is a lotus pond in front of the summer-themed rockery. A Taihu stone in the pond seems to be the word "moon". A tour guide next to it said that this is the word "ugly", saying that ancient aesthetics regards ugliness as beauty. What kind of explanation is this? Maple trees are planted on the rockery in autumn, and it is full of red leaves in autumn. It is always very beautiful. In winter, many snow lions with their heads held high are simulated with rockery. Four rows of round holes are opened on the wall, using the effect of the whistling north wind produced by the air flow changes in the narrow alleys and high walls to create the atmosphere of heavy snow in winter. Osmanthus trees are planted on both sides of the passage to welcome distinguished guests. There are alleys between the courtyards, which can be used to isolate the fire in case of fire and can also serve as escape routes.

It is still worth a visit. It is one of the four famous gardens and it is indeed very large.

I have never seen the tortoise-shell bamboo and arhat bamboo in the bamboo viewing area before. The corridor leading to the garden area from the bamboo viewing area is full of osmanthus trees on both sides. In August, the golden osmanthus flowers are hung on the branches, and the fragrance of flowers is overflowing. With the green bamboo and bright moon, it is so poetic. Entering the garden area, the rockery of spring, summer, autumn and winter, which is made of bamboo shoots, lake stones, yellow stones and Yi stones, has its own characteristics. The spring mountain is like a dragon with its head but not its tail. It is said that there are twelve zodiac signs in the Taihu stone in front of the door. The most vivid one is the chicken and sheep stone, which is homophonic to auspicious. There is an eagle on it, which symbolizes the owner of the garden, holding auspiciousness with both hands. There is a pine and crane pavilion named after the scenery in the summer mountain, which means longevity. The autumn mountain uses the yellow stone of Huangshan Mountain, which is majestic and tall, with maple trees planted on it. It can lead to the book collection pavilion on the second floor of the study next to it, which means harvest. The winter mountain is paved with white stones to imitate ice patterns. There are 24 holes in the wall behind it, which is a wind tunnel, used to imitate the sound of the whistling north wind in winter.

A Qing Dynasty mansion in Yangzhou, located in Dongguan Historical Street. The garden is very large, with four rockery, representing spring, summer, autumn and winter, which is very unique. Tickets are 30 yuan in the off-season, and free for those under 18 years old.

It is also very pleasant to take a walk in the bamboo forest in the north of the garden. Even in the hot summer, it feels quite cool. The alleys between the three buildings in the east, middle and west are simple in style, but because of the extension of depth, the artistic conception is very beautiful. From entering the garden to leaving the garden, you can feel different garden styles. The tour guide said that the garden uses stones of different materials to reflect different seasons, with bamboo and stone as the main body and peak stones as the feature. The twelve zodiac stones symbolize spring, Taihu stones symbolize the scenery of the south of the Yangtze River in midsummer, Huangshi sets off the upright mountains in autumn, and the white snow stone highlights the cold feeling of the snow in winter. Each has its own characteristics.

There are many unique bamboo gardens, and I also saw tortoiseshell bamboo that I had never seen before. It really broadened my horizons.

Ge Garden is one of the four famous gardens in China and is famous for the art of stone stacking. The four-season rockery made of bamboo shoot stones, lake stones, yellow stones and Yi stones integrates the rules of gardening with the principles of landscape painting, and is known as "a unique example in China."

It's fun and big inside, it's worth a visit!

We entered from the door on Dongguan Street, which was the opposite direction of the tour. It is recommended to enter from the main gate. It is best to hire a tour guide, as the electronic tour guide still has many unclear points.

A private garden, nothing more, not my cup of tea.

The Ge Garden is famous for its bamboo and rocks. Even the character “Ge” in the garden’s name is taken from half of the character “bamboo”, which corresponds to the various bamboos in the garden. The owner’s taste and mind are all reflected in it.

The "ge" in Ge Garden comes from the owner's love for bamboo, and the shape of three bamboo leaves resembles the Chinese character "ge". Entering from the north gate, you will be greeted by thousands of bamboos, with all kinds of bamboos available.

The most quintessential part of Ge Garden is the four-season rockery, where you can see the four scenes of spring, summer, autumn and winter at the same time in one space.

The garden can be toured in two hours, but as one of the four famous gardens in China, it is really crowded with tourists, especially the four-season rockery, every corner of which is crowded with people.

"The spring scenery is gorgeous and smiling, the summer mountains are lush and green, the autumn mountains are bright and clear as if wearing makeup, and the winter scenery is bleak and like sleeping."

The biggest feature of the garden is the four-season rockery, which uses different stones and plants to create beautiful scenery in spring, summer, autumn and winter. If you visit in a clockwise direction, you can feel the poetic and picturesque scene of "Spring scenery is gorgeous and smiling, summer mountains are lush and green, autumn mountains are bright and clean, and winter scenery is bleak and sleepy."

The beauty of the artistic conception of classical gardens can only be appreciated by placing oneself in the scenery. A few years ago, when I visited the Lingering Garden and the Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou, I was impressed by the artistic attainments and aesthetic sentiments of the ancients. They combined beautiful natural things such as mountains, rocks, plants, flowing water, pavilions and towers, and created rich three-dimensional landscape paintings through careful design and layout.

The word "ge" is taken from half of the word "zhu". As the owner loves bamboo, the garden is filled with various kinds of bamboo. The owner also wanted a unique name, or in today's words, a high-end name, so he used "geyuan".

It is said that if the price of silver is used, the current market value of the Geyuan is 1.7 billion RMB. The owner spent 20 years to build it and spent the rest of his life living in it. It can be said that he made the best use of it and it was worth it.

Thanks to the owner for leaving such a garden, so that future generations can appreciate the wisdom and creativity of the ancients.

By the way, I want to emphasize that when you come to a park, you must hire a guide! ! ! It is really important! ! !

A year's plan begins with spring. As soon as you enter the garden, you will see spring scenery. Bamboo and stalagmites create a spring-like feeling.

The "ge" in Ge Garden is actually half of the Chinese character "zhu", which corresponds to the scenery in the garden. The "four-season rockery" in Ge Garden is also very creative. The scenery in the garden is pleasant, and the rockery ponds and bamboo forests and paths make the children have a lot of fun. The two adults walked around and sighed, how rich it must be to have mountains and waters, and to have the scenery of mountains, waters and green shades all year round in their own garden. The ancients were really rich, leisurely and sentimental~

There was a performance troupe singing Yangzhou folk songs in the yard. The three of us sat on the wooden chairs opposite and listened quietly for a long time. The performer's every move and gesture infected the tourists on the scene.

"Yangzhou Qingqu" is first of all a bright tone played by flute or pipa, softening the tunes of Jiangnan, Peking opera, and Kunqu opera, accompanied by rhythmic bells, which has a taste of ancient music and style, and even laymen think it is very pleasant to listen to.

Passing through the moon-shaped gate with the words "Ge Garden" engraved on it, you will arrive at the highlight of Ge Garden - the four-season rockery of spring, summer, autumn and winter.

The first is the "Twelve Zodiac Signs Celebrating Spring", which is a lifelike image of the twelve zodiac animals formed by 12 rockery stones located in the Spring Garden. Listening to the staff's explanation, I can actually recognize a few of them. It must have taken the owner a lot of effort to find these natural 12 zodiac stones.

Walking along the gravel path further in, you will reach Yiyu Pavilion, which has windows on all four sides and offers a panoramic view of the garden. It is where the host receives guests.

Sitting inside, you can have a 360° view of the spring, summer and autumn scenery in different directions in the garden. On the big plaque opposite, there are four big characters "Hu Tian Zi Chun" inscribed on it. I can't help but sigh that the wealthy owner can have such poetic and picturesque ideas. I imagine myself living in the same era as the owner, sitting in this garden every day drinking tea, tasting wine and talking about the past and present, and turning around to enjoy the scenery of the four seasons. It's so vivid.

My friend is from Yangzhou. When we were in college, we went from your house to my house, from China to Europe, and we had a very good relationship. I have been to Yangzhou twice. The first time was in 2008. I came back from Europe in July and came to Yangzhou in August. The impression at that time was relatively hot and humid. We ate from Gonghechun to Fuchun, from Shizitou to Dazhu Gansi, from breakfast to midnight snacks, and snacks in bars in the second half of the night. The second time I came was after I broke up in 2011. It was the fireworks in March. The whole Yangzhou exuded a fairy atmosphere. There was no need to go to the Slender West Lake or Geyuan Garden. Just standing on the streets of Yangzhou, I was already fascinated by her beauty. The flowers were so dazzling that I was blinded by her. Hahahahahahaha.

I was amazed when I entered the garden. The garden is not big, but the content is very rich. It is worth seeing. It is so beautiful.
