Jinshan Scenic Area

Jinshan was originally an island in the center of the Yangtze River. Later, the Yangtze River moved northward. In the late Qing Dynasty, Jinshan was connected to the land in the south. Jinshan Temple is the main attraction.

When you look at Jinshan from afar, you can only see the temple but not the mountain, so it is said that "Jinshan Temple wraps the mountain". Jinshan Temple is covered with golden glazed tiles, which is very magnificent. You can overlook the panoramic view of Jinshan from the tower.

The scenic area is very large. I walked through every corner and didn't feel tired at all. The scenery inside is so beautiful. The beauty is not in the temple (many buildings are under repair, and it's hard to say how beautiful they are in the devastated appearance), but in the lake, mountains and plants. The autumn sun is shining, the autumn wind is blowing, the willows by the lake are swaying in the wind, and a painted boat is seen slowly passing by on the lake. It looks so leisurely! There are many stories here, not only the White Snake, Xu Xian and Fahai, but also Liang Hongyu beating the drum to drive away the Jin soldiers. The interesting monk Foyin has also been the abbot of this temple. Many emperors have visited here. The words "Jiangtian Yilan" were written by Emperor Kangxi.

I feel that the 50 yuan ticket is a bit not worth it. It's just a climb to Jinshan Temple, and there are not many other good views.

The most ridiculous thing is that the tiny scenic spot, the water for rowing is not as big as the bathhouse, and they actually forced to get a boat and ferry to see the so-called No. 1 Spring in the world! This is my second visit to Zhenjiang because of the Legend of White Snake. The park is not big and can be visited in one or two hours. The scenery is good. Moreover, because it is built on the mountain, the height difference is very large, so the connection between buildings sometimes feels very clever. Even the tour route is almost close to a zigzag shape. The building complex structure of Jinshan Temple is definitely the best in the country. It is very distinctive and must be experienced. The second area is a large area of ​​green space on the east side of the mountain. Many characteristic botanical gardens have been opened up. I didn't go there because of time constraints (even if I didn't go to Jinshan, it took 3 and a half hours. It's up to you whether to go or not). The third area is the lakeside area. A small Jinshan Lake surrounds Jinshan. There are many small attractions on the inner side of the lake, such as the White Snake Cultural Park, the White Snake Cave, the Cultural Square, etc., which are also worth seeing. You can see the heroic posture of the Cishou Tower from all angles by walking around Jinshan. The fourth area is a wetland opposite Jinshan Mountain, with many small parks with beautiful scenery, and the so-called No. 1 Spring in the World and Furong Tower. Jinshan Temple is built on a mountain, but the mountain is not very high. The building makes good use of space and is compact. We went up from the middle and east roads and walked along the temple. After reaching the top of the mountain, we overlooked the surrounding rivers and lakes. The scenery was really beautiful. The water surface was wide and connected by bridges and islands. We took the west road when we went down the mountain. There is a cave beside the mountain road, which is the Fahai Cave. There is a monk guarding the cave. Tourists are not allowed to take pictures of the scenes in the cave. There is a sitting statue of a monk in the glass wall of the cave, and that is Fahai. When there were few tourists, my father asked the monk a few questions. He said: "Under the sitting statue are the remains of Fahai. Because of the high humidity in this cave, the remains were not well preserved and have rotted."

The other part is the well-known Jinshan Temple scenic area. It is really crowded here. Maybe it is because of this crowd that I feel a little less. There are not many temple doors open in the temple. The main attractions are the first hall, Fahai Cave, and Cishou Pagoda. There are many other additional attractions, or the doors are closed.



There is a statue of Fahai in the Fahai Cave. You can only enter and exit alone. It is really hard for obese people to turn around. As for many people who have seen his statue, they think that Fahai actually looks quite "stern". Is it because of the geographical location of Jinshan Temple and Fahai's face that the legend of the White Snake has become more and more powerful?



The roads in the entire Jinshan Temple are difficult to walk on, like climbing a mountain, so elderly people should be careful when visiting.
