Nanjing 1912 Street

If you want to experience the nightlife in Nanjing, you must go to 1912. The architecture of the Republic of China, the fashionable bars, and the living room of the city, 1912 Street is as famous as the Sanlitun Bar Street in Beijing. It is a fashionable commercial and leisure district composed of 19 buildings in the style of the Republic of China and four street squares, namely Gonghe, Boai, New Century, and Pacific. The architecture and food on this street are also famous. The undecorated and unostentatious blue bricks are both the walls and the exterior decorations. The smoky gray walls are outlined with white brick seams. Therefore, 1912 is definitely a place where Nanjing photography enthusiasts often create and gather, and it is also a great place to take wedding photos.

In fact, such a block should be very characteristic of Nanjing. It was once the seat of the Republic of China government, so the buildings are naturally rich and diverse. This block also retains 26 buildings from various countries, and is now developed into a place for leisure, entertainment and food. Many special designs are probably because the atmosphere of the New Year is particularly warm.

The Coca-Cola Tree of Life at the street corner is made of Coke cans, and a series of red lanterns are hung on it for the New Year, making it a special sight. The Book of Life conveys the concept of environmental protection, which is particularly meaningful in modern cities.

There are also some interesting designs everywhere in the 1912 block. The rest chairs surrounded by big trees are supported by large boulders, which looks very natural; the square dragon carvings mixed in with modern buildings have a simple and rustic flavor; brick walls, red doors, stained glass, small scenes through the windows, environmentally friendly storage...all make us feel the fusion of new and old in this block.

As for the buildings of different styles in the block, although they have now been used for new purposes, they are still well preserved. Red bricks, corridors, bell towers, large steel windows, sunken squares... harmoniously constitute the unique scenery of the block. Often when walking, the eyes are brightened. There are many differences in the details of those buildings, but they stand together harmoniously, as if they have traveled through centuries and are telling their past and present lives.

There is a time station in the 1912 block, and a time train departs every afternoon. The mini train, which is similar to a row of people, can travel through the entire block. Perhaps because it is not cheap, few people take it. I remember that there are such trains in Taiwan. I don’t know if this place imitates the design of Taiwan, but according to the scale of the block, it is very pleasant to walk slowly and stroll slowly. Perhaps this is why people are not very interested in the train. But I like the name of "Time Station" very much, as if I can really travel back to 1912, back to that special Republic of China.

The 1912 block in Nanjing is like the Xintiandi in Shanghai and Sanlitun in Beijing. The 1912 block in Nanjing is like the fashionable new place of old Jinling. It is also a famous bar street with many bars. But unlike the first two, it is filled with a strong atmosphere of the Republic of China. The 1912 block was renovated from the buildings of the Republic of China, so it combines Chinese and Western styles and has a unique style. It is a fashionable block with typical cultural significance of the Republic of China, integrating leisure, entertainment and catering. I didn't eat here because I couldn't eat anymore. I just took some photos and strolled around, and then went back to the hotel, ending today's cycling rampage!

By Rise from Fire |

The 1912 block is located at the back door of the Presidential Palace. It is a street with the architectural style of the Republic of China. There are basically restaurants and souvenir stalls. The cost here is slightly higher than outside.

By Gongzi Xiaobai |

Just outside the Presidential Palace, it is full of fresh and artistic style, I love it. The overall atmosphere is more like the Republic of China style, and a tree-shaded path, shuttling through it, gives people a feeling of peace and tranquility. The most amazing thing is the small bars dotted in the block, some of them are steam punk style, some are heavy metal rock style, not only do they not conflict with the main style of the block, but they complement each other, which is amazing (Proud Bee)

Turn right and you will reach the 1912 block in less than 50 meters after exiting the Presidential Palace. This restaurant is located in the block. We ate here and passed by this restaurant from my whole world. In short, this is the appearance of the restaurant, with a strong literary style. Entering the store is like traveling through time. Green cars, old-fashioned street lights, and large bicycles all exude traces of time. The dining area on the first floor is called "Passing by the Era". Going further in, the ground and walls are full of Zhang Jiajia's famous quotes illuminated by lights. People who are familiar with Zhang Jiajia's works can naturally find many stories that have touched them here. Going in from the first floor, passing this road sign is "Passing by Nanjing". Climbing up the stairs, you will reach the second floor "Passing by Chapter". As soon as you reach the second floor, you will be greeted by a series of semi-enclosed small compartments. The screens above are full of Nanjing's place names and dialects, full of the flavor of old Nanjing.

When Sun Yat-sen founded the Republic of China, the building is no longer visible, and only street walls like this remain as a memorial!

By Backpackers traveling in the south |

It's a bar street with a Republican style. Just take a look.

By Travel expert Meng Nan |

A very interesting street where you can buy things and eat delicious food. It is definitely worth a visit.

By The falling little crab |

The neighborhood near the Presidential Palace is very distinctive and charming.

By Susie |

There are small trains and places to eat. The buildings are very unique. Internet celebrities can go there to take pictures. Hahaha

By MIKA |

The bars and restaurants are not very lively during the day.

By Glass_sherry |

The first stop in Nanjing is to have dinner at the Red Mansion of the Republic of China in the 1912 block. There are many bars on this commercial street and it should be very lively at night.

By Black Sage |

You can experience Nanjing's nightlife by taking a casual walk. It is not only full of bright lights and nightlife, but also has a fresh and clean atmosphere.

By 灬His shore |

The "Nanjing 1912" block, with its bars, cafes, restaurants, and specialty stalls, has a very literary feel and is a good place to take photos and chat.

By Fish Laobei |

In the old city, Xuanwu District, it is adjacent to the Nanjing Presidential Palace in the east, so you can visit the Presidential Palace + 1912 in one morning. I think it is a bar street. If you don’t come here to eat or go to the bar, you can walk the whole street in 10 minutes.

By .. |

It is a place with a strong literary and artistic atmosphere, especially suitable for young people to eat, drink and shop, very fresh

By Jiuyao |

A large commercial district, mainly restaurants and bars, located next to the Presidential Palace, very conveniently located, with a subway nearby

By Big Bad Wolf |

1912Many buildings are from the Republic of China, and there are also fashionable bars

By Rabbit Porridge |

These old buildings from the Republic of China period have been transformed into fashionable restaurants, bars and cafes, which are very romantic and exude a nostalgic style of the Republic of China. This complex of buildings with alternating blue-gray and brick-red colors seems to bring visitors back to the Republic of China era.

The ivy outside the building is growing vigorously, spreading over the entire wall, creating a fresh flavor for this quaint and exquisite neighborhood.

The overall layout of the block is "L"-shaped. At the turn of the "L", there is an alley with colorful umbrellas hanging, which is full of romance.

By Wonderful YANG |

It is a small tourist attraction with few people and is very close to the Presidential Palace.

By CHI |

To the left of the Presidential Palace is the 1912 Bar Street. There are not many shops there and the buildings are all in the style of the Republic of China.

By liiiii007 |

The 1912 Block is a bar street featuring buildings from the Republic of China. It is very close to the Presidential Palace. It is recommended to have dinner after visiting the Presidential Palace. You can see the night view of 1912 when it gets dark. The night view of 1912 is really nice.

There are many bars, some are quiet bars and some are noisy bars. Some quiet bars are very literary, and some noisy bars are really high~

By Xinying |

Next to the Presidential Palace is the "Nanjing 1912" block, which is as famous as Beijing's Sanlitun. It has bars, cafes, restaurants, and specialty stalls, and is quite literary. Many young people come here, making it a good choice for taking photos and chatting.

By 鼠來寶 |

The 1912 block, separated from the Presidential Palace by a wall, has a complex of buildings in the style of the Republic of China, which inadvertently creates a mood that makes people feel happy. Perhaps in the eyes of many people, this is just a bar street, but in fact, this is not only a place for seductive nightlife, but also a must-visit place for food lovers.

By _Mengrui |

It is a major concentration of bars, restaurants, and art shops. There are many popular online shops, which is suitable for night activities.

By Make a fool of oneself |

When I checked the guide before, I didn't understand what 1912 meant. I passed by 1912. It turned out to be related to Sun Yat-sen. It doesn't cost money. It's a place for young artists to take pictures, for boyfriends to take pictures of girlfriends, and for besties to take pictures of their love. I like the little train inside the place the most. It's so cool.

By limpke |

Passed by on the way to the Presidential Palace. Lots of restaurants. Lots of places to rest. Worth a visit. There is also a small train.

By Big Meatball |

Bar Street is a street suitable for taking photos. If you don't want to take photos, you don't have to go there.

By -LamLam.. |

It is right next to the Presidential Palace, very close. The interior has the feel of Guangzhou Shamian, also suitable for taking photos.

There are also many bars and cafes, as well as Zhang Jiajia’s shop <Passing By Your World>, which is too expensive...just take a photo and pretend you’ve been there.

By Leisure time rain |

1912 is a place I like very much. It is a commercial building complex with the architectural features of the Republic of China culture. It is a fashionable commercial and leisure district composed of 19 buildings in the style of the Republic of China and four street squares, namely Gonghe, Boai, New Century and Pacific. It is right next to the Presidential Palace.

I especially like the creepers on the walls, which are full of the vicissitudes and heaviness of history. It is suitable for walking slowly and taking photos.

By Open the windows and turn on the air conditioner |

This is the so-called Nanjing Bar Street, where young people enjoy nightlife. The street is small, the buildings are very distinctive, and it seems not very mature yet. It seems that it is not very popular. Take Metro Line 3 and get off at Fuqiao Metro Station, ride a shared bicycle and follow the navigation, it is easy to find.

By Lei Xiaoyao_Alina |

The decoration of 1912 is very unique. It is difficult to take pictures at night. I think it is best to take pictures at dusk around five or six o'clock!

By Linxi |

There are many shops here. I personally think they are average, but it is still possible to find a place to eat.

By Sunshine |

#Nanjing1912BarStreet#😓

Located in Xuanwu District, Nanjing, it is adjacent to the Presidential Palace to the east, so tourists usually visit it. 🍟🍟🍞🍟🍟🍞🍟

It is a fashionable commercial and leisure district consisting of 19 buildings in the style of the Republic of China and four street squares: Gonghe, Boai, New Century and Pacific. 🍉( ✘_✘ )↯

The fact is that this is a small tourist commercial street with small cars full of ordinary tourist products. It has no Nanjing characteristics. Maybe I came at the wrong time (~_~;). I am not lucky enough to enjoy the bar street 🍺😣

By elias |

There are activities on Christmas night, where there are many small specialty goods for sale

By Lift your heels |

If you like Ming Dynasty style, it's a good choice. There are many bars there.

By cookie |

The bar street not far from the Presidential Palace was a little deserted in the evening. In order to take a break, I had afternoon tea in a cafe.

By Meat floss |

The main street is in the style of the Republic of China, with a bit of European romance. Most of the restaurants look quite high-end, and there are many bars. At the very edge is an art stall selling handicrafts.

By Mu Fengxi |

She took me to 1912 Bar Street for a walk, but I didn't expect that even though it was late, the street was still deserted. Only Soho was still popular.

We stood inside and listened to two songs. Coincidentally, one of them was Akon's Right now na na na. It was really popular at that time. Not only bars but even clothing stores on the pedestrian street would play this song.

By There is Jiayu in the south. |

A must-go place for young artists. It was raining when I went near the Presidential Palace, so I didn't go shopping much. The exteriors of the buildings were all retro. The Starbucks on 1912 Street was also decorated in an artistic style. The clerk gave me two small cakes and a small cup of espresso. 😃

By There is heaven above |

It's really nice to take photos and check in, there are several sentimental restaurants!!

By Xiwei |

I just passed by here when I came out of the Presidential Palace. It should be very lively at night. There are still many shops.

By Raindrop Wind Chime |

The overall feeling is good and it is worth a visit.

This commercial street is not very long. If you just take a quick walk, you can finish it in about ten minutes.

The night view is very beautiful, and there are many restaurants in the commercial street, and the names are quite creative. The one that impressed me the most was "Passing by Your World".

Since we went there at night and it was raining, it affected our mood and vision, which was a pity. We also didn't sit in one of the restaurants or go shopping in the small shops. I will definitely experience it next time.

By Jenny |

Very suitable for taking pictures, with a sense of art and a strong Republican style. 1912 Street is similar to Sanlitun in Beijing and Xintiandi in Shanghai. If you feel it carefully, they are still different. Sometimes life is like this, existing in different cities.

By @bingo@g.g |

Going south from Nanjing Oriental Pearl Hotel, you will pass a commercial street with blue brick buildings for about 5 minutes. This is the 1912 Fashion Street. Since it is very close to the hotel, you will pass by here whether you are traveling or looking for food. It is understandable to name it 1912, but I still don’t understand why it is called the Fashion Street. Is it because they are worried that it will not be fashionable in the future and remind it anytime and anywhere?

By windelyn_ |

It was almost six o'clock when we arrived at the Presidential Palace, so our plans to visit the palace fell through. We went to the legendary 1912, where there are some restaurants in separate buildings, but after having seen Lao Mendong and Confucius Temple, I felt that this one was a bit inferior. However, Zhang Jiajia's fans still have a reason to come here, and passing by your whole world is right here. As for the taste... you can refer to my comments on that page.

By Bauhinia |

The first time I went there, I was scared at first. Some shops would solicit customers outside, and there would be people on some main street corners who would introduce bars and sell local handicrafts.

By Little Bajie's Travels |

After leaving the Nanjing Presidential Palace, you will arrive at the 1912 Fashion Street. Nanjing's 1912 is a fashionable new place in the old Jinling, and it is also a famous bar street with many bars. However, unlike other fashion streets, 1912 is full of the atmosphere of the Republic of China. It consists of 17 buildings in the style of the Republic of China and four street squares, namely "Republic", "Boai", "New Century" and "Pacific". All the buildings in 1912 are composed of blue-gray and brick-red tones, with a simple and exquisite style and well-arranged layout.

The 1912 Block was renovated from buildings from the Republic of China, so it combines Chinese and Western styles and has a unique style.

The modern 1912 Block is a fashionable block with typical Republican cultural significance, integrating leisure, entertainment and dining.

Although we were not able to stay in 1912 for too long and only regarded it as a tourist attraction along the way, every second walking in the 1912 block, you can feel the once prosperous old Jinling in 1912.

By Writing ink. |

Actually, 1912 is totally different from what I saw in the book and what I imagined. It feels similar to Shanghai Xintiandi, but it can be said that I got a glimpse of its real appearance.

I thought 1912 was quiet during the day and lively at night, but it was just the opposite. It was surprisingly quiet when it was getting dark. Where was the bar street?

By African Eagle |

There are quite a lot of restaurants and bars, of all styles, including fast food such as KFC, McDonald's, Japanese, Huaiyang cuisine, Cantonese cuisine, Hunan cuisine, and various teahouses. Because it is close to the Presidential Palace, there is a lot of traffic.

By united |

A more distinctive retro street, with many foreigners in bars and the drinks are not expensive. The more annoying thing is that there are many pimps on the roadside.

By Xie Xiaoyu |

It is next to the Presidential Palace, so you can go shopping after visiting the Presidential Palace.

By Teddy Bear |

This place is a new leisure landmark developed in Nanjing in the past two years. It uses the old building blocks of the Republic of China next to the Presidential Palace scenic area and transforms them into fashionable restaurants, bars and cafes. On weekends, it is very lively here, both during the day and at night.

However, some of the restaurants and bars here are average, so you still need to find a suitable place according to your preferences.

By Felicity |

I didn't do any research on this beforehand, and it should be a relatively casual street with restaurants, cafes and bars. It rained that day, so there were only a few street stalls, making it a great place to take photos.

By Strawberry Jam 2017 |

There are many modern small restaurants, cafes, barbecue hotpot restaurants, etc. The sculptures in the blocks are very creative.

Bar Street has been a bar street for more than ten years. There are many shops and the location is very good.

By CC_A4L |

A nice place. Went there twice in two days. The food was good. The consumption level is OK, suitable for young couples to dine.

By amykora |

I went to Nanjing twice, with different friends, but went to the same place and the same Man Coffee shop. It turns out that the love for a place cannot be faded by time.

By WITH |

These are all old buildings from the Republic of China period. Now they are cafes, bars, and restaurants. They are quite unique. It is next to the Presidential Palace.

By Dream Traveler |

It's a small area that you can go around quickly. It's full of restaurants and stuff. It doesn't seem cheap either, haha. If you're just here for fun, I don't think there's much to do.

By Witch Beans |

Nanjing 1912 Street District next to the Presidential Palace: mainly bars and specialty restaurants, there are a lot of people queuing for dinner at night. I wanted to eat at Honggongguan, but I was so tired of queuing that I went to Lukang Town instead. When I strolled after dinner, I really envied the party crowd rolling dice and drinking beer. We randomly chose a beer house and had some~ Come on, French fries and beer, cheers~

By Exclusive Gifts |

One of my favorite places during my trip to Nanjing is the 1912 Cultural Street. There are many artistic stores. The names of the stores are very unique, which is also my favorite style.

By Grand Hyatt Girl |

It has a very Republican style. I recommend passing by this store from your whole world. It is Zhang Jiajia's store, which is quite bourgeois.

By Bubbles |

During the Spring Festival, a few shops opened, but many closed. The block is not big, next to the outer wall of the Presidential Palace, with two corridors inside and outside. During the Spring Festival, it is mainly a place for leisure such as restaurants and bars, which are outdoors in summer and indoors in winter. At night, it looks bright and bustling, and the petty bourgeoisie will probably like it.

By A certain sauce |

I'd give it a score of about 3.8. You can go, but it's best to choose the right time. I think it would be great to go there on weekdays at night, with good weather, lively people and a good atmosphere.

1912 Bar Street, if you face the Presidential Palace, the bar street is on your left, and the buildings inside are very unique. In fact, you should go there at night, with all the lights and wine... Unfortunately, I was alone and didn’t go out at night. I chose to wander around there and take some photos after visiting the Presidential Palace on the last day. There are fewer people during the day, and it would be great to take photos for a photo album if you have a few friends with you.

By without wanting |

This is a street next to the Presidential Palace. It didn't exist when I came to Nanjing 6 years ago. The street is quite large and is built along the west side of the Presidential Palace. There are many restaurants, bars and some small shops. It feels like it is positioned as a street in Nanjing that is stylish, worldly but also combines the culture of the Republic of China.

There is a Nanjing cuisine restaurant called Honggongguan in the block, the decoration has a Republican feel. There is also a restaurant called "Passing By in Your World" opened by Zhang Jiajia, which I think is worth a visit.

By L-Ling |

There are a lot of delicious food here. If you are a foodie, you can’t miss it. However, they are all restaurants and bars. Every house is covered with ivy, which is very artistic.
