Linggu Temple was first built in the 13th year of Tianjian (514 AD) by Emperor Wu of Liang in the Southern Dynasties to commemorate the famous monk Baozhi Zen Master. It was originally named Kaishan Temple.
During the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang personally named it "Linggu Zen Temple" and named it "the first Zen temple in the world", making it one of the three major Buddhist temples in the Ming Dynasty.
The mini golden pagoda in the main hall of Dadaojue Hall (Xuanzang Memorial Hall) contains the skull relic of Xuanzang, which is very precious and can only be seen when Linggu Temple holds an exhibition.
Climb up Linggu Pagoda, the iconic attraction of Linggu Temple, and take in the surrounding scenery.
The two magnolias in front of the main hall are the first to bloom. According to research by scholars, the magnolia in front of the temple is nearly a thousand years old and is a must-see.

Go to Linggu Temple for a bowl of vegetarian noodles. This year, Nanjing is either in rain and snow or in haze. When the sun finally came out, I couldn't wait to rush to Linggu Temple to find the bowl of vegetarian noodles I had been longing for.
The only remaining building in Linggu Temple is the Wuliang Hall, which shows how solid the structure made of large bricks is. It was converted into a sacrificial hall during the Ming Dynasty and is now a wax museum of famous people in the Xinhai Revolution.
If it weren't for its historical significance, the wax figure would not be very nice to look at. However, the inscription that Mr. Chen Lifu gave to the wax museum is quite interesting.
After passing through the Wuliang Hall, you will see Linggu Pagoda. Go up the spiral staircase inside the pagoda, and when you reach the top and look out, you will know what Zhongshan is like. After coming down from the pagoda, go around to the Linggu Temple on the east side. I have heard of the Linggu Mountain House in front of the temple, but I have never seen it. It may be because of the cold weather and few tourists. I was very lucky to be able to get a bowl of vegetarian noodles at around 3 or 4 in the afternoon.
If Linggu Temple is just a temple, there is nothing special about it. If it includes the entire Linggu Scenic Area, it will be very different. It is rich in content. There is Songfeng Pavilion. There is the National Revolutionary Army Cemetery for Martyrs. There is Linggu Pagoda. The scenic area has a beautiful environment, lush trees, and clear lake water. It's just a bit tiring to walk the whole way.
I have never seen fireflies since I was a child. I finally made up my mind to go to Linggu Temple with my partner. I always thought that fireflies would flash like small light bulbs and fly around people. But in fact, most fireflies will hide in the bushes and flash from time to time, just like the stars in the sky at night. The ones on both sides of the Wuliang Hall are the most spectacular, but there are too many people and the quality is uneven. I still like the one behind Songfeng Pavilion, it is quiet.
Next to the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, there is another famous temple - Linggu Temple. Linggu Temple was formerly known as "Linggu Shensong" and was originally named Kaishan Temple. Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang personally named it "Linggu Zen Temple" and named it "the world's first Zen forest". The main gate of Linggu Temple is a three-arched entrance hall, covered with green glazed tiles and flanked by red walls. The middle gate is inscribed with "Linggu Shengjing", and the side doors on both sides are inscribed with "Song of Pine" and "Waves of Spring". There is a crescent-shaped release pond nearly 100 meters long in the south of the main gate, also known as Wangong Pond. It is said that it was dug by Ming Taizu with 10,000 military workers.
Linggu Temple is located to the east of Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. It was first built during the Xiaoliang period and had a high status in the Ming Dynasty. Only one Ming Dynasty building, the Wuliang Hall, remains here, and the others were built later. A piece of Tang Monk's skull is placed in the Xuanzang Memorial Hall.
It was originally a temple, and later became a cemetery for Kuomintang soldiers. Among them is Dai Li, the spy chief who appeared in domestic TV dramas. His tomb is to the west of Wuliang Hall, a place chosen by Chiang himself. The tomb is rectangular, with a granite tombstone in front of it, which reads "Tomb of General Dai Yunong".
Whether it is a temple or a cemetery, it is best not to take photos inside. Although you do not believe in ghosts and gods, you still have to have the minimum respect.
There are few people, it is quiet and the scenery is nice. There are not many people even during the National Day.
The temple is not big, you can go and have a look, there are not many people, it is still very suitable for a stroll
The autumn in the ancient temple is filled with the beauty of tranquility
Autumn and Zen, tranquility and vitality coexist
The autumn in Linggu Temple is so special
Zhongshan Linggu Temple, if you go there at night, you will see fireflies, which is very artistic.
A temple and a tower. Wuliang Temple is quite unique, because it really has no beams. Climbing up the Linggu Tower, you can overlook the entire Jinling City, and the scenery is nice.
You can take a small electric car to the Linggu Temple Scenic Area, where the famous Baogong Pagoda is located.
Linggu Temple is extremely beautiful after the snow, with plum blossoms just beginning to bloom and branches covered with spring snow.
After passing the mountain gate, there is a long sacred road. After going up the steps, there is a memorial archway of great benevolence and justice. The back of the memorial archway is inscribed with "saving the country and the people". Below the memorial archway is a pair of realistic stone lions that look like cougars.
The central space of the beamless hall is very tall, and it does have a similar feeling to a Western church. The upper wall of the middle part seems to be tapered, and the internal arch structure is used freely. The stone slabs on the ground should be the original ones rebuilt in the Republic of China, and they have basically been trampled. In addition, the door tracks of the two heavy iron doors are also bumpy after decades of opening and closing. They are full of marks of time.
The most criticized point is the God of Wealth Hall of Linggu Temple. There is no God of Wealth in the God of Wealth Hall, but a place selling various souvenirs. I don't know what it means.
On the way to Linggu Temple, I was really intoxicated by the beauty. In the Wuliang Hall of Linggu Temple, the spirit tablets of the fallen soldiers in the war of resistance against Japanese aggression are placed here. The whole Zhongshan Mountain is really full of yin energy. Going in, the Linggu Pagoda stands at the back, which is also the last component of the fallen soldiers cemetery group. Linggu Temple is located on the right side of the entire central axis. After entering, the entire hall is filled with Sanskrit sounds, and the Buddhist atmosphere is really strong.
Although the ginkgo trees in Linggu Temple are scattered, each one has a history of nearly a hundred years, and together with the buildings in the temple, they look even more ancient.
The autumn colors here are so rich, unlike Guangzhou, which is still green, green, green!
The fallen leaves here are more beautiful than in Shanghai. I climbed to the top of Linggu Tower with my junior sister. The freezing wind was so cold that it was freezing. However, you can overlook Nanjing without going to Purple Mountain.
The current Linggu Scenic Area is actually a modern cemetery, and the Wuliang Hall is now the Xinhai Revolution Wax Museum.
I don't know who wrote the guide saying that Linggu Temple is a quiet place with few tourists. And there are quite a few people who say that, which misled me a lot. In fact, there were still a lot of tourists around 4 pm, and it was impossible to take a photo of the empty front of the Wuliang Hall. And the ginkgo trees were in full bloom, and every tourist who came up took a photo of the ginkgo trees. After 5 pm, there were still a lot of tourists, and I finally managed to grab a photo.
When we were at Linggu Temple, we felt more the tranquility of the world's number one Zen temple.
Another thing that makes people feel the strong atmosphere of autumn is the fragrant osmanthus that can be seen everywhere in the temple. The osmanthus trees here are generally tall.
The most famous one is the Jinling Osmanthus King in the temple, which is located on the central axis of Linggu Si. It is very vigorous and full of vitality. It is golden yellow and has a strong fragrance that is refreshing.
The apricot-yellow screen wall casts mottled shadows on the black tiles. In front of the temple, you can see pairs of Pixiu. The tortoise shell of Linggu Temple, carrying the stone tablet, is like an ancient and unchanging giant beast, witnessing the vicissitudes of Zhongshan.
Linggu Temple is actually quite far away. Although it is in Zhongshan Scenic Area, this place is particularly far away and there are relatively few people.
You can climb up the tower of Linggu Temple. It has nine floors and rotates. In fact, the tower is on the mountain, so many people don't want to go up after walking to the bottom of the tower. It's really tiring, but since you are here, you must go up, and it's free. However, the stairs are rotating. If you walk fast, you will feel dizzy, and if you walk slowly, you will feel a little scared. It feels a bit strange, but climbing to the top of the building is a different feeling. The railing on the top of the building only reaches my belly button. I always feel unsafe standing on the outside, so I always walk with the wall.
Linggu Temple Scenic Area is a scenic area consisting of temples, the National Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery and Linggu Park.
Surrounded by jungle, verdant mountains and warm atmosphere, following the guide's guidance, we passed through the curved gate with red walls and green tiles and entered the elegant and solemn garden.
Although there are many tourists in the park, the empty valley is exceptionally quiet. It is so quiet that you can hear the whispers of birds and the footsteps of the wind. Climbing up the steps, the memorial archway shaded by ancient trees was built for the cemetery of the fallen soldiers of the National Revolution. The memorial archway is inscribed with the words "patriotism", "bravery" and "loyalty" written by Chiang Kai-shek for the fallen soldiers, expressing his high praise for the warriors.
In the garden in front of the Wuliang Hall, an exquisitely carved stone turtle with its head pointed toward the sky looks lifelike. Tourists rush to touch it and take photos of it as a commemoration and out of a feeling of good fortune and peace.
Linggu Temple is one of the three major Buddhist temples in the Ming Dynasty. It was moved here when Zhu Yuanzhang built his mausoleum, but unfortunately it was destroyed by war. The existing temple was rebuilt during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, but its scale is far less than that of the past. However, with red walls and yellow tiles, lush pine trees, singing birds and fragrant flowers, and a quiet environment, it still feels like a paradise on earth.
The most precious treasure of Linggu Temple is the finger bone relic of Master Xuanzang. Therefore, it has attracted many monks to worship and become a tourist attraction. In front of the statue of Xuanzang in Xuanzang Courtyard, the old abbot was receiving officials and also came forward to listen to the old man explaining the story of the origin of this temple from the finger bone relic of Xuanzang.
It's almost night and it's a bit eerie...
After all, it's all woods...
The place was dark and sparsely populated, so a girl would feel a bit scared...
Linggu Temple, famous for its fireflies in the summer, is still a good place to visit in the fall. It is the best destination for admiring osmanthus in Nanjing. When you walk into the Linggu Scenic Area in Nanjing, you can smell the sweet fragrance of osmanthus in the densely populated osmanthus corridors and osmanthus tunnels.
Recommended playing time: 1.5 hours
The Linggu Temple is new except for its name, so there are few tourists. There is a beamless hall that is an ancient building from hundreds of years ago, which has now been converted into a revolutionary memorial hall with wax figures. It is a bit eerie to go there in the evening. The whole scenic area is quiet, but you can visit the Linggu Pagoda.
Linggu Temple is a famous firefly viewing spot in Nanjing. Tickets are free after 6pm. Linggu Temple is designed to protect fireflies and does not open any lighting facilities. You can see dots of green light dancing on the road from time to time. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I missed it.
There are many tourists in Linggu Temple, the incense is very prosperous, and the buildings inside are very beautiful. It is estimated that the wishes made here can basically come true.
Linggu Temple is very quiet, which is in stark contrast to the bustle of Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. Although both are located on the Zhongshan Mountain, a mountain with outstanding people and beautiful scenery, tourists who like quietness can come here to play. There is a very domineering columbarium inside, and you can climb to the top.
I arrived not too late, and it was not completely dark yet, so I visited Linggu Temple. The temple is an ordinary temple, but because it is built deep in the forest, it has a special quiet feeling. In addition, there are not many tourists in the evening, and the whole Linggu Temple is full of quietness and mystery. In addition to the temple, there is also a monument to the National Revolutionary Army's anti-Japanese war. The beamless hall of the memorial hall is worth seeing.
Linggu Temple was later changed into a place to commemorate the martyrs of the National Revolution.
Linggu Temple Scenic Area is located in the southeast of Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. The current Linggu Temple is a cemetery for fallen soldiers of the National Revolutionary Army built on the original temple site from 1928 to 1935. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it was renamed Linggu Park, but it is still customarily called Linggu Temple.
20140306 At Linggu Temple on Meihua Mountain in Nanjing, white magnolias are in full bloom in front of the main hall, creating a holy and solemn atmosphere.
As fireflies have once again become a popular attraction, let's have a close encounter with fireflies on a midsummer night
Arrived at Linggu Temple, through the Hongshan Gate of Linggu Holy Land, there are two stone lions in front of the gate (some fireflies can be vaguely seen here, and you can take pictures with the stone lions as the background). Even if you really enter the scenic area, the scenic area has actually stopped operating at this time, but the gate is not closed, and the ticket gate is also open. After entering the Linggu Temple scenic area, it is really dark inside, to the extent that you can't see your hand in front of your face. Linggu Temple is specifically to protect fireflies and does not open any lighting facilities, so friends who want to go there are better to bring some lighting tools. After entering the door, you will see dots of green light dancing on the road from time to time, which made me, who saw fireflies for the first time, really excited for a while. Walking along the road, you will first reach the memorial archway of fallen soldiers. There is a forest on the right side of the steps of the memorial archway. The fireflies there can be described as hundreds, and the green light in the grass is like stars, which is very beautiful. But the background here is only the forest, and the photos taken are not very novel. If you bring some small props with you, you can try it. Continue forward to find Zhigong Hall and Baogong Pagoda. After passing the memorial archway, you will see Wuliang Hall. You can go around the left side of the hall to the back. Follow the road and pass Jinling Osmanthus King (a big tree), and you can see Zhigong Hall. In 2016, the hall was still lit at night, which was a good prospect. When I went there again in 2017, the lights were no longer on, probably for the protection of fireflies. There is a red doorway in the middle of Zhigong Hall, but it cannot be seen after dark. You can put a candle under the doorway to add some warm colors to the whole picture. Because most fireflies are still flying in the woods and grass, if you want to
I came here after seeing the fireflies at Linggu Temple online. I heard a lady say that you can enter for free after 6 o'clock. Maybe everyone came here because of its reputation. Many people came in groups to take pictures of fireflies. There were all kinds of props and equipment, which was nice. It was dark at about 7:30, and I waited for half an hour before I saw the fireflies. It was worth the trip, but I didn't have professional equipment, so I took pictures with my phone, and my hands were shaking badly.
June and July every year are the seasons when fireflies appear. They will glow in the midsummer night to court and continue their offspring. As an out-and-out outsider, I also heard about it. In order to familiarize myself with the environment in advance, I arrived at Linggu Temple early. The Shensong Inn I booked has an excellent location, right in the Linggu Temple scenic area. Before 6 pm, the shopkeeper can pick you up from the subway station to the inn. After 6 pm, because the scenic area is closed to traffic, you must walk in. In the Linggu Temple scenic area, tickets are sold before 6 pm, and free entry is available after 6 pm. For the protection of fireflies, there is no light in the scenic area after dark, and it is pitch black (if there is no one). Entering the scenic area, there are still several attractions worth visiting.
The best time to photograph fireflies is between one and two hours after dark, which is between 7 and 9 in July. Fireflies are most active at this time. To paraphrase a famous saying of Mr. Zhao Zhongxiang, it is the mating season again. When the sun just sets, the brightness is sufficient and the scenery is still clearly visible, which is extremely suitable for taking pictures. However, until about 7:40, the fireflies have not appeared. Pay attention, the fireflies seen with the naked eye are completely different from those in the photos. The fireflies seen in the photos are often denser points of light, but in fact, there are not so many fireflies.
Please do not turn on the lights when taking pictures to protect the fireflies.
Linggu Temple is included in Zhongshan Scenic Area. Tickets are 35 yuan and can be paid by credit card or mobile phone.
I was planning to go to Linggu Temple to eat vegetarian noodles, but when I arrived, they said they only had tea and the noodles were sold out~~
The sightseeing bus station to Linggu Temple is near the music platform at Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. We took the bus to the scenic area called Linggu Shengjing. Along the way, the first thing we passed was a memorial archway for fallen soldiers, and then we arrived at the Wuliang Hall (now also a wax museum). It can be said that this place is deep in the mountains and quiet, but if you enter the Wuliang Hall without any mental preparation, you will suddenly see a tall, dark stone tablet in front of you. The two girls walking in front of us were probably stunned. They hesitated to move forward, and then came out with us!
After coming out, we found Linggu Temple, which also felt like a newly built temple imitating Tang architecture. However, it is worth mentioning that the temple has the Xuanzang Memorial Hall, which houses the skull relic of Master Xuanzang. The temple is not big and can be visited quickly.
It's worth a visit. Linggu Temple may be a bit remote, so there are not many people. The scenery is similar everywhere, but Linggu Tower is worth climbing. The spiral staircase is very interesting, just like the tower swept by Tang Monk in Journey to the West. Warm reminder, you must bring some dry food with you when you visit the scenic spot, there is really nothing to eat in the scenic area.
The deep pine trees in Linggu summarize the style of the Linggu Temple Scenic Area. There is no noise, only tranquility. Walking in the scenic area can make people calm down and relax!
An ancient temple with a lot of history. You can go up to the tower. If your legs were not too tired, you could have visited it more carefully.
There is a vegetarian noodle restaurant at the entrance of Linggu Temple. If you are interested, you can try it. It costs 30 yuan per bowl. There is nothing to see inside the temple. The surrounding area is full of mountain fun. The whole area is very quiet and there are few tourists. The most famous thing is that you can come here to see fireflies from July to August every year.
If you have finished visiting Zhongshan Scenic Area, Linggu Temple is a must-see attraction. The quietness and peace here are completely different from the other two scenic areas. Climbing the Bell and Drum Tower or eating a bowl of vegetarian noodles here, or just sitting quietly in Xuanzang Courtyard are all great ways to relax your body and mind. I think the so-called Buddhist life can be well interpreted here. Even if you come here alone, the 202 bus at the entrance of the scenic area is also an option to go to the city and change to the subway. If I have the opportunity to come to Nanjing next time, I will come here again without hesitation.
You can walk to Linggu Temple from the music stand, which is not very far. There is nothing to see inside, just climb the Linggu Pagoda, which has 9 floors, which is quite tiring.
"Four hundred and eighty temples in the Southern Dynasties, many pavilions in the mist and rain", Linggu Temple originated in the Southern Dynasties (now the site of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum), and changed its name several times during the dynasties. It was demolished and named Linggu during the reign of Zhu Yuanzhang. In the mist and rain of the past history, the old traces of Linggu have long disappeared. Today, Linggu is all new except for its name. The National Government rebuilt the National Revolutionary Army Cemetery on the site of Linggu Temple, and added archways and memorial towers. The Wuliang Hall of Linggu Temple is a relic of the Ming Dynasty. It was rebuilt into a memorial hall, engraved with the names and ranks of the soldiers who died in the Northern Expedition and the Anti-Japanese War. Behind the Wuliang Hall is a large semicircular lawn. The huge Jinling Osmanthus King is as lush as an umbrella cover. How refreshing it must be when it smells in August. After visiting Linggu Temple, I went to the parking lot to pick up the car. The exit display screen showed the license plate number and 97.5 yuan, which was very confusing. It turns out that the parking lot charges 7.5 yuan/15 minutes. We were not informed when we entered the venue. Although there was a sign, the densely packed small characters looked like a legal document. The charging standards were complicated and difficult to understand. I wonder who would read them carefully. We could have put up a big sign saying 30 yuan/hour, which was simple and clear. When we entered the venue, the traffic controller stood next to the car for a few minutes, just to maintain order but did not inform us of the charging standards. Is this a trap? It shouldn't be. It's all my fault for not asking clearly. Only then did I realize why there was a long line of local license plates parked next to the big lawn on the east side of the parking lot. It must be cheaper there! Tickets for three people cost 87.5, and the tour took 3 hours, and the fare was 97.5. Big blue whale, you gave me another surprise.
From Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, you can take a sightseeing train for 20 yuan to Linggu Temple. The temple is quiet and elegant, simple and heavy, with a strong sense of history. The most recommended thing is to climb up the Linggu Pagoda to see the scenery of Purple Mountain. Jinling is well-deserved.
Linggu Temple is located in the Zhongshan Mausoleum scenic area, with a quiet environment. I ate a bowl of limited-edition Linggu vegetarian noodles opposite the temple. The vegetables were refreshing and sweet, and the noodle soup felt like it was made from a variety of vegetables. It was very delicious and a big bowl. When I was eating, some foreign friends came to eat. It seems that good wine is not afraid of narrow alleys. It is worth going early to eat~
I took my kids to see fireflies during the summer vacation. Walking on the small road in Zhongshan in the evening, the ancient trees around were towering and quiet, giving people a gloomy feeling. It is said that Nanjing is full of gloomy energy, especially here, which is full of cemeteries. However, the fireflies in summer are still very beautiful, flying in groups, like green elves flying in the grass. It’s a pity that the mobile phone can’t take pictures
It's worth going there, not many people, very quiet.
After entering the scenic area through the gate, I found that Linggu Temple is divided into two places. One is Linggu Temple, which has the Great Hall of the Buddha and the Hall of Great Awakening; the other is the National Revolutionary Army Martyrs Cemetery, where the Wuliang Hall and Linggu Pagoda are located. The building of Linggu Temple itself is very compact. It didn't take long to walk around inside and then come out. Instead, I climbed up the Linggu Pagoda to have a look from the top. From the top of the tower, I can see the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, the Xiaoling Mausoleum of the Ming Dynasty and the Observatory.
A temple in Linggu Temple Scenic Area. It is in the style of Jiangnan temples with yellow tones.
There are many trees but few people in the scenic area, so it is very cold. The roadside is full of big sycamore trees, which are said to be hundreds of years old. Nanjing people love sycamore trees. In autumn, the fallen leaves are all over the ground, but they are not cleaned up. They walk and drive on the leaves every day, feeling happy.
There are several ginkgo trees and red maples in front of Linggu Temple, and the fallen leaves on the ground are beautiful. Linggu Temple is also the cemetery for the fallen soldiers of the National Revolutionary Army. When you enter the Wuliang Hall, you will see the information about the National Revolutionary Army. When you come out of the Wuliang Hall, the back is like a big park with many ginkgo trees. Of course, Linggu Temple has a temple, but it doesn't seem to be very popular.
Linggu Temple, the last stop of Zhongshan Scenic Area, was not crowded and the place was very large. As it was getting late, we did not walk around all the places and only visited a few important attractions.
I am not the kind of person who takes pictures with iconic buildings wherever I go. The most attractive part of Linggu Temple is climbing to the top of the tower. You must go there. The scenery is very good.
It was my first time to visit Linggu Temple in autumn, but I was amazed! There were few tourists, and the autumn coat made it even more beautiful!
The scenery is very good. The scenery on the tower is good. I am afraid of heights.
After you come out of Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, you can take the small train in the scenic area to Linggu Temple. There are slightly fewer people in Linggu Temple. Most people are concentrated in Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, which is spectacular, especially when looking down from above.
Linggu Temple is actually a cemetery for the Kuomintang’s fallen soldiers, among whom Dai Li is buried here. He is a figure whose fate remains unknown.
I was very tired, but I still insisted on walking to Linggu Temple. This thousand-year-old temple gave me the feeling that there was a master in the dark.
Linggu Temple is located in Nanjing Zhongshan Scenic Area. It is a famous historical temple with quiet scenery. In fact, the entire Zhongshan Scenic Area is very beautiful and well managed. If you have enough physical strength and time, hiking will be a wonderful experience.
There are legends and real-life Chinese revolutionary history here, recording the course from the Xinhai Revolution to the Kuomintang. There is vegetarian food for lunch, which we enjoyed.
The scenery is very nice, quiet and not crowded. I like it.
A cool place with constant chanting and offerings of the relics of Master Xuan Zhuang
The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is about 1.5 kilometers away in Linggu Scenic Area. The memorial archway left over from the past has the words "Da Ren Da Yi" written on it. This is also the cemetery for the martyrs of the National Revolutionary Army who died in battle.
You can go to see fireflies in the middle of July every year.
After coming out of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, I saw that it was less than 8 o'clock, so I decided to go to the Linggu Temple scenic area next to the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. Walk east for about 10 minutes from the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum to Linggu Temple. The temple was built in the 13th year of Tianjian in the Southern Dynasty (514), and has a history of nearly 1,500 years. It was built in a valley between "mountains on the left and steep mountains on the right". It can be said that the mountains have spiritual energy and the valley has water, so it is named "Linggu Zen Temple". This place is remote, with few tourists, and the environment is quiet and deep. The ancient temple is looming among the towering ancient trees, just like the ancient temple "Entering the ancient temple in the early morning, the first sun shines on the tall forest. The winding path leads to a secluded place, where the Zen room is deep in flowers and trees. The mountain light pleases the nature of birds, and the shadow of the pool empties people's hearts. All sounds are silent, only the sound of bells and chimes remains." It describes the general emptiness and silence. It is definitely a good place to relax after playing in the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum.
We visited the Linggu Temple scenic area along the route of Hongshan Gate - Memorial Archway for Fallen Soldiers - Beamless Hall - Linggu Pagoda. There are three main attractions in Linggu Temple. The first is Linggu Pagoda. This eight-sided and nine-story pagoda built with reinforced concrete and Suzhou Jinshan granite, formerly known as the Memorial Pagoda for Fallen Soldiers, is an important organizational part of the cemetery complex to commemorate the fallen soldiers. The second is the Beamless Hall. This hall is the only remaining building in Linggu Temple in the Ming Dynasty. It is named after the Buddha of Infinite Life enshrined in the hall. Since this hall is a brick and stone arch structure without beams, it is commonly known as the "Beamless Hall". The third is the Xuanzang Memorial Hall. The hall enshrines the seated statue of Master Xuanzang, and the Master Xuanzang parietal bone memorial tower in front of the statue contains the parietal bone relics of Xuanzang. Climbing up the Linggu Pagoda, the iconic attraction of Linggu Temple, the empty valley bottom has a panoramic view of the scenery. After about an hour of strolling, we returned after resting enough.
You can just stroll around, Linggu Tower is worth going up.
Not many people go there, not because it's boring. Because people believe their legs are almost broken when they come to this place. Zhongshan is really too big. This spot is outside the bus station but not too far away, so there are not many people. So it's a good idea to go to the tower behind the temple before it closes at 5 o'clock. No pictures? My dog legs were broken under it, so I didn't go up.
Very quiet and peaceful, with the relics of Master Xuanzang inside
Next to Zhongshan Scenic Area, the scenery is still good
Linggu Temple is not big. It is located in a corner of the Linggu Temple scenic area and is more of a memorial site for the dead.
Linggu Temple is relatively large, and there is a guided tour route at the entrance.
I will continue to write reviews of my trip to Jiangnan. I stayed in Nanjing for only one and a half days, and basically spent the whole day at Zijin Mountain. Here I will talk about the Linggu Temple.
[Location] In the Purple Mountain Scenic Area, Purple Mountain (Zhongshan) is divided into three major scenic areas, Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum and Linggu Temple. The Linggu Temple Scenic Area is to the east of Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, not far from a big slope, but it is better to take the scenic area battery car to save energy...
[Ticket] We bought a 100 yuan ticket for Purple Mountain, which includes Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, Linggu Temple, Meiling Palace, and Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum Music Stage (Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum does not require a ticket). I think the price for Linggu Temple alone is 35 yuan, but I can't remember clearly. The comment bus connecting the various scenic spots is 10 yuan per person. The round-trip train between Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and Linggu is a small train haha~
[Scenery] Linggu Scenic Area is not big or small. There are Linggu Temple, a tower where you can climb up and look far, a National Revolutionary Heroes Memorial Hall, and many amazing trees. The whole walk took about 1 and a half hours. The route we took may be wrong. We went to the temple last and the memorial hall first. The memorial hall was gloomy. There was a list of martyrs and sculptures of Mr. Sun Yat-sen's life story. My friends and I felt that the atmosphere was a bit scary and sad. I like the tower of Linggu Temple very much because you can climb the tower (the tower has been renovated so new...). I have been to Xi'an twice. At that time, you can climb the Small Wild Goose Pagoda. I don't know if it is possible now. I like to go up the tower in circles and look at the scenery higher and higher on each floor. There are 8 floors in Linggu Tower. I don't know the background because I always think that the tower should have an odd number of floors. Friendly reminder: People with acrophobia should be careful (´⊙ω⊙`). Finally, we went to Linggu Temple. Maybe we have visited too many temples and don't feel anything. It is a normal temple. The only thing that was not so nice was that you had to go to a shop that prayed to the God of Wealth before you left, and they said that it was because you couldn't go back. . Isn't it right to turn back? . But fortunately, there was no hard selling inside, but the clerk would always follow you with a smile, and his attitude was still pretty good~
Some people say that praying here is very effective. I don’t know if it’s true, but the name of Linggu Temple is really nice (。・ω・。)
“A winding path leads to a secluded Zen room with flowers and trees.”
I have always heard that there is a great vegetarian noodle restaurant in Linggu Temple, but I have not been able to go there for various reasons. I always feel that I can appreciate the profound artistic conception of the restaurant better if I go there on a rainy day. Finally, I came here on an early summer weekend with the right time and place.
In the early morning before the summer solstice, I was surrounded by the fresh air in the mountains and forests, and every breath I took was very comfortable. The Zhongshan Scenic Area where Linggu Temple is located is more like a huge forest oxygen bar, where towering trees and vines are intertwined and coexist and prosper together, using layers of green to tell the long and long life. Walking on the road, every step is particularly light and powerful, just because this place makes people feel far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
This noodle shop is located in front of Linggu Temple, and is dotted with several thatched houses. The rustic taste flows naturally in the faint smoke and Buddhist music, spreading all around, with a bit of Zen.
The noodle shop only sells one kind of vegetarian noodles, but it is praised by connoisseurs for its sweet and fresh taste brought out by vegetables and wild delicacies without chicken essence or MSG. We came here to taste it ourselves, and it really lived up to our expectations. After dinner, we sat here and didn't want to leave, so we ordered another cup of Pu'er tea to help reduce fat and greasiness. Drink tea here, empty your mind, listen to the wind singing, and let your mind be calm.
A gust of wind blew by, blowing up the wind chimes hanging high on the eaves of the mountain house, and a crisp sound rang out.
This is probably the most beautiful sound in early summer.
