In addition to the original Zhongshan Gate and Chaotian Palace collection warehouses, a 3,000-square-meter modern warehouse was built on the right side of the main hall, greatly improving the preservation conditions of cultural relics. The new exhibition hall on the ground floor of the main hall, which was designed on the original drawings in the 1930s to connect to the second-floor exhibition hall, has been built, totaling 2,400 square meters. Together with the 2,390-square-meter exhibition hall on the second floor, it hosts three basic exhibitions: "Five Thousand Years of Civilization in the Lower Yangtze River", "Our Yesterday - History, Nationality and Culture of the Motherland", and "Jiangsu Archaeological Exhibition", which are open to the public all year round.

On the west side of the main hall, there is an antique palace-style art exhibition hall similar to the current main hall, which is the Crafts Hall originally planned to be built in the 1930s, covering an area of 12,600 square meters. It has 11 special exhibition halls, including the Treasure Hall, Bronze Hall, Porcelain Hall, Painting and Calligraphy Hall, Jade Hall, Weaving and Embroidery Hall, Ceramics Hall, Lacquer Art Hall, Folk Customs Hall, Modern Art Hall, and Celebrity Painting and Calligraphy Hall.

Nanjing Museum is one of the earliest museums in my country. Its predecessor was the Preparatory Office of the National Central Museum, which was initiated by Mr. Cai Yuanpei in 1933. Mr. Cai personally served as the chairman of the first board of directors. In 2013, the second phase of the expansion project of Nanjing Museum was completed, forming a "one museum and six museums" structure.

The History Museum has a permanent "Jiangsu Ancient Civilization Exhibition". Walking through it, it feels like strolling through Jiangsu's 5,000-year-old civilization.

The Republic of China Pavilion is a microcosm of the old Nanjing city culture. It combines real objects with scenes to allow visitors to walk on the old streets of the Republic of China and move freely between upstairs and downstairs and alleys. The various shops on the street are not just for display. Visitors can send letters to buy books, get prescriptions, choose clothes, taste food, and dynamically experience the social fashion of the Republic of China.

The Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum is outside the exit. Remember to visit it last and don’t enter by mistake.

There are three exhibition halls. You can make an appointment through the official account and then enter by swiping your ID card, or go directly to the site to make an appointment and get a ticket with your ID card. It is recommended to enter from the History Hall first, and learn about the exhibits from far to near as time goes by. I have visited many museums, and the exhibition here is more down-to-earth. The History Hall will have some replicas of cultural relics displayed without isolation, and the Sculpture Hall of the Art Museum has some very old sculptures directly displayed, allowing the audience to feel the history more closely~

This is a great museum, and it's big enough to spend a day. The Republic of China Museum is the most popular. There are food and entertainment, and the most important thing is that the price is not expensive. I definitely recommend it. Don't miss it when you go to Nanjing! But don't get the navigation wrong. This is the Nanjing Museum, not the Nanjing Museum. I almost went to the wrong place because of the difference in one word.

Nanjing Museum, founded in 1933, was originally the National Central Museum. It is the earliest museum in China and the first large-scale comprehensive museum built with state investment. It is one of the three largest museums in China.

Take the subway to Ming Palace Station, then walk east from Exit 1 for a few minutes. The transportation is very convenient.

Nanjing Museum is free to visit with ID card. You can make an appointment online in advance or go to the Visitor Service Center to make an appointment for the same day. It is open until 12 noon on Monday.

The Nanjing Museum is divided into six exhibition halls: History Hall, Special Exhibition Hall, Digital Hall, Art Hall, Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall, and Republic of China Hall. The recommended tour route is History Hall --》Special Exhibition Hall --》Digital Hall --》Republic of China Hall --》Art Hall, so you don't have to go back.

The History Museum of Nanjing Museum was built in imitation of the Main Hall of Fengguo Temple in Yi County, Liaoning Province, and has some of the atmosphere of the prosperous Tang Dynasty (the Main Hall of Fengguo Temple was built in the Liao Dynasty and retains many elements of Tang Dynasty architecture. It is one of the eight major Liao structures in my country. Friends who are interested can read my travel notes: http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/11046106.html).

Recommended cultural relics to watch:

1. The Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove and the brick painting of Rong Qiqi, one of the sixty-four cultural relics prohibited from leaving the country.

2. The glazed tower arch of Da Baoen Temple is a typical Tantric six-nana device.

3. Yingyuan, the weighing currency of the Chu State, is the earliest original gold coin in my country. The largest and most complete piece of Yingyuan from the late Warring States Period is collected by Nanjing Museum.

4. The Golden Seal of Prince Guangling (Eastern Han Dynasty), the only seal of the royal family of the Liu family of the Han Dynasty discovered so far.

5. Underglaze red plum vase with "Three Friends of Winter" pattern, the only well-preserved Ming Hongwu underglaze red plum vase with lid in the country.

The NMB recently held a Renaissance-themed exhibition, which was a special exhibition themed on the lives of the three great masters of the Renaissance: Leonardo da Vinci/Michelangelo/Raphael, as well as some of their works and the works of their followers. I went to check in before it ended. There were really a lot of people. I rented an audio guide and looked at each piece one by one. It took me nearly two hours to walk through the small exhibition area. In fact, the exhibits can only be said to be pretty good, but I am really pleased that the NMB curator organized these special exhibitions that connect with the world's literary history.

As for myself, I lack sufficient appreciation for Chinese paintings. I simply think that the freehand blank space is amazing, but my cultural level is limited and I cannot fully appreciate their beauty. For European literary works, I can only further understand them in combination with the background of the times and religious culture. Although my ability level is limited, it is still good to see this kind of exhibition. See more, learn more and understand more. The fourth picture is made by the experience section in the special exhibition hall. The painting is printed by brushing ink on the wood board. As a half-baked art lover who made prints with KT board in elementary school, I really like it. When I was a child, I felt that my hands were black and I didn’t want to brush the ink myself, so the teacher did it for me. When I grew up and encountered such an experiential exhibition in the museum, I didn’t expect that I would be so happy that I ran over to play...

Because this year is the Year of the Pig, I happened to see a special exhibition on pig culture. When I walked in, I heard a mother whispering to her child, "Come and see the pigpen!" I thought it was a little cute. Because I also worked as a volunteer in the museum for a few months before, I have great respect for these tomb unearthed artifacts. For example, the talc pig is a beautiful wish for the deceased to hold it in their hands and pray for a better material standard in the other world. I don't quite understand the behavior of happily taking selfies with exhibits in museums. For example, few people would take a lot of photos in a cemetery.

But seeing these pig pens, I couldn't help but comment, "Well, this is so luxurious, a well-decorated small house pig pen" and "Oh, this is just so-so, it feels like the thatched cottage is broken by the autumn wind, I wonder if it's cold." The exhibits in the entire exhibition area are actually okay, and the area is not very large, but it's great to see such a special exhibition that fits the Year of the Pig during the Chinese New Year!

Due to limited time, I didn't have time to visit the entire Nanjing Museum. Before leaving, I went to the Republic of China Pavilion downstairs to take a look. The Republic of China Pavilion was filled with antique buildings and many shops. Tourists came and went, and many took photos. I felt a little regretful. During my visit, I found that there were really too many people taking photos. Some tourists may have never seen the exhibits directly, and all they saw were through the small viewfinder. I can understand that they may be the only tourists who come to Nanjing and have no plans to come again in the future. I hope to take more photos to record memories, but the museum may be more suitable for immersive tours. Try to understand the exhibits and the era in which they are located. Isn't it interesting to imagine the colorful past through small objects?

Finally, I hope that NMB will have some exciting special exhibitions this year. I will come again if I have the chance! 2019 Check-in NMB Plan👌

I finally arrived at the museum I had been longing for. I was so excited that I forgot to get my ticket and walked to the door. Suddenly I found that I had to check my ticket. Then I trotted back to the visitor hall (the building on the left when you enter the gate) to get my ticket with my ID card. Only the special exhibition hall required a ticket.

The Golden Jade Burial Suit, I recall the scene when I was a child watching the archaeological discoveries on CCTV10 with my grandfather. The shock of seeing the real object with my own eyes is hard to describe in words. I kept looking at it and didn't want to leave. If you come to Nanjing, you must come here to see the national treasure, the Golden Jade Burial Suit.

The Nanjing Museum is not far from Zhongshan Mountain. After January 25, you must bring your ID card to pick up your ticket on site, or make an appointment. At first, the exhibition hall does not look large, but the three exhibition halls are connected, so it is still tiring to visit. There are many small ornaments of the original cultural relics, which the audience can touch, and there are text introductions next to them. Later I found that there are also Braille introductions next to them. This design of the museum is really thoughtful, allowing the blind to feel the charm of cultural relics through touch. There is a Republic of China Pavilion in the Nanjing Museum. Nanjing people know how to do business. Other museums only have a cultural and creative store at the exit, but the Nanjing Museum has several stores, and this Republic of China Pavilion is a whole market.

The Nanjing Museum is very big, with six halls, the History Hall, the Special Exhibition Hall, the Digital Hall, the Art Hall, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall, and the Republic of China Hall! There are so many cultural relics in the History Hall! It is also appropriate to say that they are piled up! There will be some special exhibitions and temporary exhibitions in the Special Exhibition Hall! The Republic of China Hall is a block that imitates the style of the Republic of China, which is the best place to take pictures! It is really too big, and I didn’t finish it after a whole day! ! I didn’t see much of the Art Hall and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall! I was visually fatigued by the end of the tour!

If you want to collect stamps, you have to buy a notebook from the National Museum to get stamps! There is a post office in the Museum of the Republic of China, and there is also a stamping place inside. It has nothing to do with the museum post office, and you have to buy a notebook... There is also a Pioneer Bookstore in the Museum of the Republic of China!

It was already 2 o'clock when we arrived. We hesitated for a long time. The three of us still wanted to rent a guide. But Xiao 15 decided to just take a quick tour. So only Xiao 15 saw the whole museum, including Guomin Street. The three of us only saw half of it. It was a pity. We secretly decided that we must spend a whole day to visit the museum next time.

After entering the museum, although I didn’t have much time, I thought about it and decided to rent a guide.

In addition to some genuine items in the glass cabinets, the Bohu Museum has a table in some corners to display some replicas so that people can get a closer look.

I have always been curious about why there are sculptures. According to the explanation, the ancients would imagine the gods of nature, and would combine people with natural creatures to create the gods they imagined. Mountain gods are mostly human heads and snake bodies, river gods are human heads and fish bodies, etc. These are mostly placed in tombs as tomb guardians. So don't buy sculptures like this to put at home, and there are no souvenirs like this for sale. At this moment, you can think of the Terracotta Warriors Hotel.

After being immersed in the explanation for 2 hours, I heard a rather ruthless broadcast: The closing time is over! Nanjing Museum requires selfie sticks to be deposited in the guard room at the entrance and to be retrieved before 17:00, otherwise you have to come back early tomorrow~ When the broadcast sounded, I had only walked about two-thirds of a museum, and I hadn't visited about 2-3 museums such as the National Museum. I could only hand the interpreter to my friend, run to the exit by myself, and buy some museum cultural and creative gifts in 3 minutes. Then I ran half a circle from the exit outside at a 100-meter sprint speed back to the entrance guard room to retrieve the selfie stick.

The Nanjing Museum is located on Zhongshan East Road. On the way from the subway station to the museum, you will see the former site of the National Government.

There are many stone pillars in the square in front of the museum. There are animals and people on the pillars in various shapes, some of which are quite funny.

The silver sculpture on the lawn in front of the Nanjing Museum is a lotus pod. In ancient Chinese culture, the lotus is a symbol of beauty and auspiciousness. In the outdoor space of the museum, it carries good wishes.

The main hall of Nanjing Museum is modeled after the palace style of Liao Dynasty. Liao Dynasty architecture inherited the boldness of Tang Dynasty architecture. The roof slope is relatively flat, and the facade columns are raised from the center to both sides, so that the eaves are slowly tilted up, giving people a sense of lightness and flying. The roof is covered with golden glazed tiles, which looks very magnificent.

The decoration inside the hall is very elegant and the pattern and color combination are very beautiful. It is said that when the hall was built, it adopted an antique appearance and used Western building materials such as cement inside, which not only strengthened the firmness of the building, but also increased its service life.

The Cultural Hall of Nanjing Museum is a cultural relic exhibition with the theme of "Ancient Civilization of Jiangsu". From ancient times to the present, from the Stone Age to modern times, the exhibits are very diverse and rich, which is an eye-opener.

The small screen on the wall of the ancient cave shows how primitive people in the Stone Age used wood to make fire and hunt. The simple stickman portraits make people laugh.

As we walked along, we saw many interesting small screens showing short clips of ancient people's daily life. The pictures were beautiful and cute.

The chime bells in Nanjing Museum are the largest in number and the longest in time span that I have ever seen. The chime bells in the Western Han Dynasty in the picture below are the most beautifully decorated chime bells that I have ever seen. You can tell at a glance that they were exclusively used by the royal family.

The Three Kingdoms period section has a studio that looks like a movie theater. The big screen projects a slide show of the love story of Xiang Yu and Yu Ji. The pictures are beautiful and the background is dreamy. The children enjoy watching it.

In the modern period, there are many exquisite ceramic products. The exquisite vase in the picture below was produced in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and it is painted with plum blossoms.

We went on Friday, and there were not many people. There was a machine at the door to swipe the ID card to get the ticket. The recommended order of the tour is History Museum-Republic of China Museum-Digital Museum-Special Exhibition Hall. There are free explanations in the History Museum and the Special Exhibition Hall at 2 pm every day. Since the time is the same, you can only choose one hall to listen. We chose the History Museum, because the Special Exhibition Hall is mainly divided into two parts, one is the clock museum, and the other is the exhibition of Buddha statues. If you choose the explanation of the special exhibition hall, a large part of it will be listening to the knowledge of Buddhist statues. This is our first time to the Nanjing Museum, and we have no obsession with Buddhism, so we chose the History Museum. Nanjing is the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties, so the History Museum is worth seeing. The Republic of China Museum is a good place to take pictures. The sky inside is very beautiful, and there are many scenic spots that are also very good. There are also many small shops selling small things. There is no need to ask for explanations, but there is a place to send postcards in the Republic of China Museum, and there are commemorative medals of the Nanjing Museum inside; the clock museum in the special exhibition hall left a deep impression on me, and the clocks on display inside really shocked me.

Special reminder: there is a drinking water area in Nanjing Museum with free paper bag cups. Don’t be like me and look around for someone selling water. Only after I bought the water did I realize that the free water was right next to me!

Unlike many museums with antique buildings, the houses in the Republican period building of Nanjing Museum are open to visitors. There are bookstores, Chinese medicine stores, restaurants, photo studios, etc., which are open to the public. It is recommended to wear cheongsam or Republican-style clothing.

There is a photo studio inside where you can take photos in the style of the Republic of China. It is very novel. Friends who are interested can learn about it in advance and make an appointment.

In order to follow the glazed tower arch of Dabaoen Temple in the first season of "National Treasure", and the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest and Rong Qiqi's brick paintings, I came to the Nanjing Museum. The cultural atmosphere of the Nanjing Museum is very good, and it gives people the feeling that it is not just a place to exhibit cultural relics. There is also a very distinctive Republic of China Pavilion, which I will comment on later. The Nanjing Museum can store luggage for free, and there is a place to get water outside each bathroom, including hot water, warm water, and direct drinking water. You only need to bring an empty cup in, which is really humane.

By Little fish loves to swim |

Digital Museum: Uses modern technology to display ancient themes, and also contains many interactive games.

The entire interior is built to look like a street in the Republic of China, which is very suitable for taking photos.

Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum: When I went there, the art museum was under renovation and was not open.

Note: 1. The museum is free but not ticket-free, so bring your ID card!

2. The guide is free and can be obtained with an ID card or deposit

3. The museum opens at 9 am. You can queue up at the service center or the main entrance of the History Museum about 10 minutes in advance on weekdays. You need to queue up 40 minutes in advance on weekends and holidays (the museum is closed on Monday afternoons and is open all day on statutory holidays on Mondays)

People who like to visit museums will like this place very much, like me. Spend 30 yuan to rent a smart explanation device, which is rich in pictures and texts. The text on the pictures is very down-to-earth. If you can't hire a human guide, you must rent one. If you bring children, you can also rent a children's guide. There are also free human guides at specific times. The service is really considerate.

We saw most of the museum's treasures that day, including the glazed archway of the Da Baoen Temple, which is listed as a "national treasure". It was worth the trip.

There are 440,000 collections in the museum, most of which were brought in when the cultural relics were moved south. There are more than 300,000 boxes, but only a part of them are on display in the museum. I spent half a day in the History Museum and the Special Exhibition Hall. These two halls are the most important to visit, and the collections are all in these two halls. When I went there, the Art Museum was not open and I couldn't visit it. As for the Republic of China Museum and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, they are more commercialized. If you don't like taking pictures, you can skip them. If you don't have enough time, you can also ignore the Digital Museum.

The food in the restaurant is quite expensive, for example, a bowl of soup costs 20 yuan... It is best for everyone to bring their own dry food...

Nanjing Museum is one of the three major museums in China. Its predecessor was the National Central Museum initiated by Cai Yuanpei and others in 1933. It is the earliest museum established in China and the first large-scale comprehensive museum built by the state. Nanjing Museum is a large-scale comprehensive national museum, a national comprehensive history and art museum, and is now a national first-class museum. Nanjing Museum covers an area of more than 130,000 square meters, with a "one institute and six museums" structure, namely the History Museum, Special Exhibition Museum, Digital Museum, Art Museum, Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, and the Republic of China Museum. In addition, the museum has "six" research departments, namely the Institute of Archaeology, the Institute of Cultural Relics Protection, the Institute of Ancient Architecture, the Institute of Exhibition Art, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Research, and the Institute of Ancient Art. It also has the only ethnic folklore research institution in Chinese museums.

This is my second visit to Nanjing Museum! Every time there are new surprises.

There is no need to enter the NMB, you can just use your ID card to get the ticket at the entrance. There are many museums, including the Art Museum, Digital Museum, and the Republic of China Museum. The collections are very rich, and the route design is very reasonable, so as not to let visitors go back.

But don't confuse it with the Nanjing Museum, this is the Nanjing Museum! If you are not in a hurry, you can basically stay there for a whole day. There is a guide machine that you can borrow at the entrance, which is very practical. The peripheral products of the Nanjing Museum are also very exquisite, especially suitable for souvenirs. Every time I go there, I can't help but collect a few bookmarks.

Friends who refer to historical paintings or write books are especially suitable to go to the National Museum to collect materials. I also saw a young lady sketching on the spot, tracing the patterns on the cultural relics. I guess I met a great painter.

By Manager Mo |

The museum is free, you need to swipe your ID card to get the ticket, you can rent an interpreter at the customer service center, which will be clearer than seeing it yourself. However, the interpreter is all written language, and there is no unofficial history, which is definitely not as interesting as the interpreter.

I arrived at around 9 o'clock and didn't leave until the museum closed at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. I'm not familiar with cultural relics yet, I just came here to see the fun, but it still took me a whole day because it's so big. When I walked out, my waist felt like it was broken. I had to bend over frequently to see the collections. I was bending over for several hours and was so hungry that I had low blood sugar. I ate a few chocolates in my bag, but I was still very hungry, but I couldn't bear to leave.

The day I went there, there happened to be a primary school visiting. The first floor was full of noisy children and it was impossible to get close to the exhibits, so I started browsing from the second floor and then went to the first floor.

The lower floors are all cultural relics, and going up you will see modern exhibits, including sculptures and photos. The sculpture of Qi Baishi is really a big deal, hahahahaha. Uncle Qi's walking stick is too long, it can't fit in the room, okay? He had to drill a hole in the top floor and put the stick in it.

The top floor of the museum is an exhibition of the customs of the Republic of China, which is a perfect place for taking photos. It restores various buildings from the Republic of China period and you can go up there. There is also a post office and a souvenir shop. I took a lot of photos here.

The Nanjing Museum consists of six exhibition halls: the History Hall, the Art Hall, the Special Exhibition Hall, the Digital Hall, the Republic of China Hall, and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall. There are many types and quantities of exhibits. The History Hall displays the ancient civilization of Jiangsu. When visiting, it is recommended to visit in chronological order according to the numbers next to the door of each exhibition hall. You can see many exhibits with Jiangsu characteristics. The Special Exhibition Hall is used to hold temporary exhibitions and special exhibitions, showing the exchange and integration between different cultures and arts. The Art Hall happened to be closed when I went there. The Digital Hall is a multimedia exhibition hall, and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall exhibits various Jiangsu intangible cultural heritages.

To be honest, we were disappointed with the Nanjing Museum, one of the three largest museums in China. First, the number of tourists was too noisy. It might be because there were not many noisy visitors when we went there. There were many children. I certainly hope that children will come to visit the museum, but it is not right for adults to ignore the children who are always making noise. Some of the collections are not protected by glass covers. There is a sign saying "Do not touch", but many people still touch them, which makes it a bit uncomfortable. In such an environment, it is difficult to really calm down and visit the collections in the museum, and the sense of immersion is not that strong. Second, the area of the Nanjing Museum is really large, but there is a little distance between each museum, which makes it feel a bit scattered. Third, my personal feeling is that the Nanjing Museum does not have a focused era. There are indeed many collections from all eras, but there is no focus. If there is really a focus, it is the Republic of China period. There is an underground space in the museum, which restores the scene and architecture of the Republic of China era. I think this space is the highlight of the entire museum, but it may be because the era is relatively recent and lacks the weight of history.

So I gave up the visit.

Go to the Republican Period Museum

When I first arrived at the Republic of China Pavilion, there were relatively few people.

Maybe he is still visiting the History Museum.

The Republic of China Pavilion is highly recommended

It is recommended to get up early and leave

The Republic of China Pavilion is the first place to visit

The History Museum is right inside the museum.

Go past the History Museum to get to the Republic of China Museum

Most people think in order.

Visit the History Museum first and then the Republic of China Museum

So we will visit the museum in reverse order.

Visit the Republic of China Pavilion first to avoid the crowds

Otherwise, the photos you take will all be of the same kind.

The Republic of China, a special era in history

The semi-colonial and semi-feudal society collapsed

China has since entered the era of modern history

The Republic of China Pavilion restores the scene

Cars flow like water and horses run like dragons

Blue bricks and white tiles, bright lights and feasting

A variety of time-honored shops

Recreate the era of the fusion of the East and the West

Restore the old days of the Republic of China in the 1930s

It is the familiar taste of the Republic of China on the screen in my memory

I remember going to Shanghai before.

There are many shops on Nanjing Road

The window display is also similar to the decoration

The scene similarity is very high

Nanjing Museum is the second largest museum in mainland China, one of the three largest museums in China, and the earliest museum established in China. It is a large comprehensive national museum, a national comprehensive history and art museum, and a national key museum.

Nanjing Museum is located on the southern foot of Purple Mountain and the north side of Zhongshan Gate in Xuanwu District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, covering an area of more than 130,000 square meters. It is China's first large-scale comprehensive museum invested and built by the state, a national first-class museum, one of the first national museums jointly built by the central and local governments, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a national key cultural relic protection unit.

Nanjing Museum has a structure of "one academy and six museums", namely the History Museum, Special Exhibition Museum, Digital Museum, Art Museum, Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, and the Republic of China Museum. In addition, the museum has "six research departments", namely the Institute of Archaeology, the Institute of Cultural Relics Protection, the Institute of Ancient Architecture, the Institute of Exhibition Art, the Institute of Ethnic and Folk Customs, and the Institute of Ancient Art.

When I went there, the Art Museum was undergoing expansion and was not open to the public. The performance at the Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum had not started yet, so I missed these two museums. Even after visiting the other four museums, I was exhausted!

The Nanjing Museum is really big. If you want to see every point carefully, you won't have enough time in one day. We only saw a small part. It is a place we can go again next time. It is recommended to rent an interpreter, otherwise you really don't know what you are looking at. There is a Republic of China Pavilion inside, which sells food and drinks. The food is quite cheap. You can also take pictures. The light is a bit dim. The Digital Pavilion is also a must-see. Many other pavilions are other exhibitions, and you need to buy tickets to enter. There is a restaurant on the top floor. The open-air environment is really good. It's a pity that it's too hot to sit outside in this weather.

After watching "National Treasure", I couldn't forget it and decided to go to the Nanjing Museum. It's also a source of pride for people from Jiangsu.

The Nanjing Museum covers an area of more than 130,000 square meters and has a "one institute and six museums" structure, namely the History Museum, Special Exhibition Hall, Digital Museum, Art Museum, Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, and the Republic of China Museum.

Due to time constraints and the fact that some museums were closed for renovation, I only visited four museums: the History Museum, the Special Exhibition Hall (unfortunately, the Treasure Room of the Museum was closed), the Digital Museum, and the Republic of China Museum.

Free! Free! Free! I have to say this three times. But there are so many people...

When we arrived at the Nanjing Museum, there was still an hour before the opening time, but there were already hundreds of people queuing in the service hall at the entrance. The museum opens at 9 o'clock. It is recommended to arrive before 8 o'clock, queue up in front of the service hall first, and collect tickets with your ID card. If there are many people traveling together, you can ask some people to queue up at the entrance of the museum, and then use your ID card to collect tickets after entering the museum directly. Why is it so important to queue up to get tickets? Because if the tickets are collected late, it will affect the rental of the interpreter. Without the interpreter, it means that you can only watch and listen blindly, and you may not learn anything on this trip. Both the main hall and the special exhibition hall sell museum-related products. It is recommended to take a look at the things in the main hall first, then go to the special exhibition hall, and finally decide what to buy. There are differences in the things sold in the two halls. It feels that the things in the special hall are more like products developed by the museum itself. There are three kinds of interpreters, with three colors of labels, each color corresponds to a interpreter, the ordinary one is 20 yuan, the children's one is 20 yuan, and the ipaid one with pictures and texts is 30 yuan. It is recommended to rent the children's version of the interpreter for children, so that they can listen to stories and see exhibits, which is more vivid and interesting. Adults can take a look at the ipaid version, and use it to read the exhibits when they are tired of walking. It is recommended that friends with children, especially children in elementary and middle schools, follow the order of historical dynasties to visit, and focus on appreciating the treasures with interpretative labels. It basically takes at least 2-3 hours to walk around in this way, and you can rest after watching a complete exhibition hall. Don't think about finishing the museum in one go. If possible, come several times, and you will have new discoveries every time. In the souvenir shop, a thin little book costs 15 yuan. What attracts children is that they can stamp the book with various commemorative stamps of the museum. A row of commemorative stamps, queuing up to stamp over and back, is the best game.

A must-visit spot for internet celebrities after watching CCTV's "National Treasure". Programs such as "I Repair Cultural Relics in the Forbidden City" and "If National Treasures Could Talk" have made the national treasures more down-to-earth, more human and more interesting. Finding the glazed archway of the Da Baoen Temple was worth the trip.

The public facilities are complete, the toilets are easy to find, and hot water and paper cups are provided. It is recommended to bring your own thermos cup to save resources. It is also recommended to visit the Republic of China Museum on the first floor. Some places can be charged but it is not convenient. It is better to rent an interpreter yourself. There are free interpretations at regular intervals, but there is a limit of 30 people, so it depends on your luck.

By Phoenix of the Desert |

Tips: 1. There is a rental service for interpreters when you enter the museum. You must rent one. There are two types of interpreters, one is 20 yuan and the other is 30 yuan. You can rent the 20 yuan one. 2. You don’t need a ticket to enter the NMB, but you need to bring your ID card and swipe it to enter the museum. 3. It is recommended to avoid weekends (group visits are mostly on weekends), and the museum is closed on Mondays. In my impression, the exhibits in the museum are one object and one exhibition, but the NMB is very domineering, maybe there are too many cultural relics. I mainly visited the History Museum and went to all the exhibition halls. When I went out, you will find the souvenir shop of the NMB, where you can buy some small items as a souvenir. At the same time, there are also commemorative coin vending machines here (basically all scenic spots in Nanjing will have commemorative coin vending machines) 20, 30 are available, which is also a very good choice. If there are many people in the History Museum when your friends go there on the same day, you can go to the Special Exhibition Hall first. The Special Exhibition Hall has some exquisite exhibits at the exhibition hall, which have extremely high appreciation value. The special exhibition hall has five floors, with escalators and elevators. Each floor has different exhibition halls, and each floor has different features. It took me almost a whole morning to visit the entire special exhibition hall. Compared with the history hall, there are relatively few people in the special exhibition hall.

One of the three major museums in China, it is well-known and has rich collections. The copper plate on the ground of the museum square displays 8 treasures in the collection, including the golden beast (the treasure of the town, arranged in a single room), the celadon beast statue (the burial object of Zhou Fang, the father of Zhou Chu, who eliminated the three evils), the Eastern Han Dynasty silver-copper bull lamp, the divine human and beast-faced jade cong, the Tang Dynasty tri-color double fish bottle, the Ming Hongwu underglaze red winter three friends plum bottle (isn't it underglaze red? Why is it black? I don't think it looks good), the Eastern Han Dynasty "Guangling King Seal" gold seal, and the Ming Xuande blue and white Shoushan Fuhai pattern furnace. After a round of visits, I feel that I didn't see any heavy objects. I have to praise the intelligent voice explanation by name. Wherever I go, the corresponding cultural relic explanation will automatically start. I don't feel anything about the Republic of China. I didn't go to the popular Republic of China Street. On the roof of the main building's history museum, you can see the blue roof of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and the yellow roof of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. It seems that you can also see the Purple Mountain Observatory.

It is very popular. The date we booked is just an ordinary weekend, but we made an appointment a full week in advance. The museum is divided into six halls, which are interconnected and each hall has several exhibition halls. The temperature in the museum is high. It is recommended to store luggage at the visitor center on the left. The history hall in front of the gate is the most crowded. You can go to the art gallery on the left first. You can rent an explanation machine in each hall. The official manual explanation has a fixed time, and only the history hall and the special exhibition hall have manual explanations. The digital hall has more light and shadow equipment and interactive devices, which is more suitable for children. The Republic of China Hall is mainly a place for taking photos and punching in, and there are no cultural relics. Compared with some museums I have visited, the Nanjing Museum has a larger exhibition hall and richer exhibitions. On the day I went there, there were Chu culture eastward, Qing Dynasty palace cultural relics exhibition, clock and watch boutique exhibition, Kangyongqian porcelain exhibition, and Qing Palace Buddha statue exhibition. Ticket checking stops at 4 pm and closes at 5 pm.

It's worth a visit. It's really great. There are many exhibits. You can't see them all in half a day. You need at least a day to see them all. If you want to listen to the explanation, you have to check the time. You can get a stamp. There are many people queuing for stamps. There are also restaurants inside. You don't have to worry about being hungry after watching the exhibition. It is worthy of being the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. The exhibits are dazzling. I really recommend it. You have to make an appointment in advance, but the tickets are still easy to make. It will be a little harder on weekends. From Monday to Friday, it is still easy to make an appointment as soon as the tickets are available.

Nanjing Museum is one of the three major museums in China, referred to as Nanjing Museum. Its predecessor was the National Central Museum initiated by Cai Yuanpei and others in the 22nd year of the Republic of China. It is the earliest museum established in China and the first large-scale comprehensive museum built by the state. It is now a large-scale comprehensive national museum, one of the first national first-class museums, one of the first national museums jointly built by the central and local governments, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a national key cultural relic protection unit and China's 20th century architectural heritage.

Nanjing Museum covers an area of more than 130,000 square meters, with a "one academy and six museums" structure, namely the History Museum, Special Exhibition Museum, Digital Museum, Art Museum, Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, and the Republic of China Museum. In addition, the museum has "six research departments", namely the Institute of Archaeology, the Institute of Cultural Relics Protection, the Institute of Ancient Architecture, the Institute of Exhibition Art, the Institute of Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection, and the Institute of Ancient Art. It also has the only ethnic folklore research institution in Chinese museums. Among them, the Institute of Cultural Relics Protection is known as the "Three Class Hospitals for Cultural Relics" and is a key scientific research base of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage for the protection of paper cultural relics in China.

As of 2018, Nanjing Museum has 432,768 pieces (sets) of various collections and 371,032 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics. The number of precious cultural relics ranks second in China, second only to the Palace Museum. The collection of cultural relics ranges from the Paleolithic Age to the present; there are both national and regional ones; there are both court heirlooms and archaeological excavations, and some are collected and donated by the society. They are all treasures and masterpieces of successive dynasties and treasures that have attracted much attention from domestic and foreign academic circles. All kinds of cultural relics such as bronze, jade, ceramics, gold and silver utensils, bamboo, wood, ivory and horn, lacquerware, silk embroidery, calligraphy and painting, seals, stele carvings and statues are all available, and each variety is a historical series in itself, which is the most direct witness to the development of Chinese civilization for thousands of years.

China's three major museums: Forbidden City, Taipei, and Nanjing.

Nanjing Museum, in fact, is named after the "Institute" to know how important it is. As famous as the Forbidden City, Nanjing Museum has 430,000 pieces (sets) of collections (2018 statistics). What does it mean? If you look at 100 pieces (sets) a day, it will take 11 years to see all the collections...

This wonderful NMB does not charge admission fees and also provides free manual and electronic explanations, giving you a MAXIMUM experience.

The History Museum is the core of Nanjing Museum and is located in the center of Nanjing Museum. Its architecture was designed by the famous architect Xu Jingzhi and modified by the master architect Liang Sicheng. As the main building of the museum, it was inspired by the main hall of Huayan Temple in Datong, one of the three major Liao structures. It is magnificent and has carved beams and painted buildings as soon as you enter the hall, showing the beauty of palace architecture.

I visited the NMB two years ago. Last time, due to time constraints, I only visited the History Museum and saw the Plum Vase and Silver Jade Clothes, two of the eight treasures of the museum. This time, I saw the Golden Cicada and Jade Leaf, one of the treasures of the museum. The Republic of China Museum was dark and crowded, so the experience was not very good. The Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum is for selling things.

One of the three major museums, it lives up to its reputation! The collection of cultural relics is numerous and good! You must make arrangements when you arrive in Nanjing! Book online a week in advance, and a small number of tickets will be released on the day.

The collection is so rich that you can't see it all without 5 hours, and even if you do, you can only see it in a hurry. It is not recommended to drive by yourself, as there are few parking spaces in the museum and it is difficult to wait.

Nanjing Museum is located at the southern foot of Zijin Mountain and the north side of Zhongshan Gate in Nanjing, covering an area of more than 70,000 square meters. It is the first large-scale comprehensive museum in my country invested and built by the state. In 1933, at the initiative of Mr. Cai Yuanpei, a modern democratic revolutionary and educator in my country, the National Government established the Preparatory Office of the National Central Museum. Mr. Cai Yuanpei personally served as the chairman of the first board of directors, and Li Ji and Hang Liwu successively took over the work of the Preparatory Office. The Preparatory Office originally planned to build three halls for humanities, crafts, and nature. Construction began in 1936. It was designed by the famous architect Xu Jingzhi at the time. Later, under the guidance of Mr. Liang Sicheng and Mr. Liu Dunzhen, it was modified to imitate the Liao Dynasty hall. Construction was stopped in 1937 due to the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War. By the early 1950s, only the Humanities Hall was built. The hall is simple and solemn, majestic and majestic, and has become a landmark historical and cultural landscape in Nanjing. It is now a provincial cultural relic protection unit.

Let me complain first.

The air conditioner was turned on very high in winter, and the museum didn't provide any clothing storage or lockers. I saw many children who were so hot that they only had cotton sweaters left, and adults were walking behind with a lot of winter clothes. Wouldn't it be environmentally friendly to lower the temperature?

Before going, I read the guide that there are all kinds of Jiangsu food on the underground floor of the square, so I strolled around slowly until 1 o'clock and prepared to eat, but the aunt told us that it was under renovation!!! Only the fifth floor of the special exhibition hall has simple meals, and the second floor has tea. When we rushed to the fifth floor, all the rice and sandwiches were sold out, so we went back to the second floor and bought two small sandwiches each to fill our stomachs.

Also, don’t trust those smart arm guides that don’t even consider which floor you are on and just point blindly!

Praise again.

Needless to say, the collections are so high-end, definitely among the top three in China. The tour focuses on the history museum, special exhibition hall, and art museum. The Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum is a teahouse where you can listen to Yue Opera, the Republic of China Museum is a holy place for little girls to take photos, and the Digital Museum is just some low-quality videos. For those who are here to see history, don't waste your time. Be sure to rent a smart tour guide, which has background and principle videos related to the products. It is definitely worth watching, but the content is different from the adult audio guide. Two or more people can use one each.

There are many rest areas on each floor, and there are water dispensers at the entrances of the bathrooms, which is much better than the Shaanxi History Museum.

By gimoon |

Well, how should I put it? It is a bit of an insult to the word "museum". This is the second museum besides the Palace Museum, but the exhibits are relatively small, and the treasures of the town are just so-so.

By China-TravelNote |

It feels great! Make an appointment on the WeChat public account of the National Museum of China one day in advance. Just walk straight to the History Museum after entering the gate and scan your ID card to enter. You can spend a whole day to visit carefully, and it takes about two hours to take a quick look at the History Museum.

There are a lot of people during the summer vacation, especially parents with children, but the order on the scene is okay, and the room is cool and not crowded.

There are some other exhibitions in other museums, which require a fee. There is nothing interesting in the Republic of China Museum. It is just some scene-based sightseeing with a lot of people taking pictures.

This is a place I definitely recommend when taking children to Nanjing. You can make an appointment with your ID card. There is no charge for the big museum. Sometimes there are some special theme exhibitions that require a fee, but the price is not very high. It is worth a visit.

As one of the three largest museums in China (the other two are the Palace Museum and Henan Museum), Nanjing Museum is very large in scale and has a very rich collection, so many that it can't fit on one wall, and there are many exquisite and precious national treasures, such as the Jade Clothes with Golden Threads, the Glazed Tower Arch of the Great Baoen Temple, the Blue and White Shoushan Fuhai Pattern Porcelain Furnace, and the Brick Painting of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest. In addition, as a prosperous place in the south of the Yangtze River, Jiangsu Province has a history worth writing about in politics, economy, and culture. The History Museum is worth spending time to see. You can also choose to visit the Theme Museums such as the Calligraphy and Painting Museum and the Ceramics Museum, and the Republic of China Museum is a place for Internet celebrities to take photos. The cultural and creative peripherals of the Nanjing Museum are also very well done, and I bought a lot. If you want to eat in the museum, the cafeteria is a good place with good quality and low prices.

The second time I came to Nanjing, I chose Nanjing Museum as a must-see. As expected, I was not disappointed. Nanjing Museum is located in the city, with convenient transportation and direct access to the subway. There are more people on weekends, so you can go there at lunch time when there are relatively fewer queues. Nanjing Museum has a total of 5 or 6 halls. If you appreciate it carefully, I think it is absolutely no problem to stay for a day.

Nanjing Museum is one of the three largest museums in China. It is free to visit and requires reservations. There are two sessions, morning and afternoon. No one is allowed to enter the museum at 4 pm and it closes at 5 pm. It is a "one museum and six museums" structure, namely the History Museum, Special Exhibition Museum, Digital Museum, Art Museum, Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, and Republic of China Museum. I personally recommend starting with the History Museum. Drinking water is provided. You can bring dry food. There are many public areas and it is convenient to eat. You can also eat in the public restaurant, the restaurant of the Republic of China Museum, or the teahouse of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum. It is recommended to rent an interpreter, which is divided into automatic induction type, smart type (combination of pictures and text) and children's version. It is applicable to all venues. Then spend a day happily in it...

There is an ID card registration and ticket exchange service center on the left side of the entrance, but it is not used inside the museum. It is recommended that you go early!!! Rent an interpreter!!! And then the interpreter must be returned before 4:30!!! You need to make an appointment in advance, on the official WeChat, and enter the museum by swiping your ID card. You can enter the art museum or the history museum. The museums are interconnected. There are fewer people in the art museum than in the history museum. You can queue directly in front of the left. After entering the museum, I went to the fourth floor of the special exhibition hall first. There was no one there, so it was worth visiting.

The exhibition of the Three Masters of the Italian Renaissance was officially opened at the Nanjing Museum on November 28. Only four pieces are replicas, and the rest are all originals. The exhibition will last until February 24, 2019. Speaking of which, the Nanjing Museum is a magical place. The first time I knew about it was when Lao Xia went to see the "Mummy" exhibition. Well, hahaha, it was weird.

One of the most unmissable places in Nanjing is the Nanjing Museum. Yes, it is a museum. The simplicity, solemnity and elegance add a sense of heaviness. There are six museums in one museum, and it happened to be the special exhibition of the Hall of Mental Cultivation. It was worth the trip and I felt super satisfied. Although I have never learned history very well, visiting the museum quietly is a process of emptying myself and renewing myself. How can I miss it casually? Outside the Nanjing Museum, I also saw the lotus sculptures that my undergraduate school has. Museums are basically closed on Mondays, so you must go to the museum at off-peak times. During the winter vacation, I saw a long queue at the Nanjing Museum on weekends. I strongly recommend that you try to go from Tuesday to Friday, and go as soon as the museum opens. Rent a language guide. It takes at least three hours to visit it. I highly recommend the Republic of China Museum. If you have time, just visit it in order.

The museum is built in a grand style. As an important city in the south of the Yangtze River, it has a long history and is worth a few hours of visiting. However, non-professionals who are interested are advised to do their homework, otherwise they will be like me, not noticing the treasures of the museum.

In Nanjing, the Nanjing Museum is a stop not to be missed, not only because of its long history, rich exhibits and strong cultural atmosphere, but more importantly, it is free. You only need to bring your ID card to enter and visit. If you don’t buy cultural and creative products, eat or drink, or send postcards to distant friends, it is completely free.

Standing in front of the majestic hall, scenes from historical events in history books, movies and TV series scroll through your mind like a movie, as if time and space are intertwined.

With this feeling, I stepped into the threshold of the hall, strolled alone in the dimly lit room where only two or three tourists were visiting, and visited a large number of cultural relics from the Spring and Autumn Period, the Warring States Period, the Han Dynasty, the Three Kingdoms Period, the Ming and Qing Dynasties. They were lifelike, as if they had life and had experienced past and present lives. I couldn't help but stop and stare, as if I wanted to spy a clue from them, and they seemed to want to tell you the stories they had experienced.

The ancients also had a rich imagination. During the whole tour, my favorite exhibit was the "alien beast" in a corner. It looked like neither a pig, an elephant, a sheep, nor a horse, but it had all these animal characteristics, which made people suspect that it was an alien species. If the Chinese want to make their own "ET", they must go to the museum to get materials! In addition to the alien beast, there are also servants with human heads and fish bodies, as well as beasts that are relatively strange without looking closely, which are very interesting!

The ancients were very optimistic and positive. Most of the human servants here look kind, even the mighty warrior servants look very positive. Although the facial expressions of the servants are not so delicate, you can still see their smiles. How should I put it? It's a bit like the "Mona Lisa smile", hazy, and you can even read the modern sense from some of the servants, which is very interesting.

The Republic of China Museum in Nanjing Museum is quite distinctive. There is also a very popular Dehe Photo Studio on Weibo that rents student uniforms from the Republic of China. I took a photo of a cheongsam and a military uniform for 200 yuan. You can only choose one of each, so the price is still quite expensive. I'll just treat it as a souvenir. It's not recommended.

Nanjing in late November was very warm, and the lawns were green. The Nanjing Museum has a rich collection, and it takes a whole day to see it carefully. It is recommended not to visit on weekends, as many schools arrange for students to visit the museum on weekends.
