Pukou Railway Station

Pukou Railway Station is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River in Nanjing. It is also known as Nanjing North Railway Station. It is a national key cultural relic protection site. It was built in 1914 and was the terminal point of the Jinpu Railway at that time.
The transportation of Sun Yat-sen's coffin to Nanjing, the People's Liberation Army's campaign to cross the Yangtze River, and the scenes in Zhu Ziqing's "Back Figure" all took place here, which has unique characteristics of the Republic of China.
In recent years, it has gradually become an important location for movies and TV series set in the Republic of China. Many scenes of "Romance in the Rain" and "The National Anthem" were filmed here.

If you are a young literary man with feelings,

Arrived in Nanjing,

You must go to Pukou Railway Station.

Strolling along the old streets and alleys, it is mottled and dilapidated, but it also has its own unique smell.

The images left on the rails,

Standing by the dock, thinking,

After taking the ferry from Zhongshan Wharf to Pukou, you can see an old platform as soon as you go out. The overall tone of the arched platform is a white ceiling with gray-green painted pillars. Due to its age, many green paints have fallen off. Although it has been repaired, it looks like a band-aid. But this kind of shabby is suitable for the creation of Republic of China style portraits. I wanted to try to use the center and guide line composition to shoot portraits, but there are many bicycles and electric vehicles on the platform, and nearby residents have set up tables to play mahjong. There are also some "wild guides" driving tricycles to pull business in the distant buildings. In order to avoid these, I had to give up some orthodox compositions and choose to shoot around the platform pillars. But because this place is very down-to-earth, friends who like to shoot humanistic works can try it.

Walking straight from the platform, there is a light yellow building. I haven't verified it, but I think it must be the office building of the station in the past. The light yellow wall, dark green door, dark red window frame, and some characters engraved on the wall have become some of the scenes I photographed. In particular, the canopy that relies on the wall has a long extension that is very suitable for composing with guide lines.

Walk along the canopy to the other end of the office building, turn left and you will enter the original living area of the station, but now there are many new buildings, which may be what I am particularly sad about. I remember when I first came here, there were old dormitory buildings. Now many old houses are gone, replaced by some new buildings. Although the style is still the old style, it is too new, like a facelift, which looks a bit awkward. But there are still a few places where you can find traces of the station back then. Especially when you walk to a corner, there is a barber shop. The seats in the shop are still the old-fashioned behemoths. I was polite to the shop owner, who was very easy-going and let us take pictures in the shop.

You must take photos of the railway tracks when you come to the train station. Walk along the main road from the living area, turn a corner, and after about a few hundred meters, you can see a section of railway tracks. One end of the railway track is connected to the old train station and has been sealed. The other end can be used for photos. There are still many people taking photos here on weekends. After a few steps, you can see a blue and yellow checkpoint next to the railway track. Due to the limitation of the equipment, I didn't take some big scenes this time. It should be noted that the railway track is still in use, so you must pay attention to safety. There will be a staff member during the day, and you must be careful at night.

Pukou Railway Station was a place I decided to visit on a whim. I can only say that it was good for taking photos, but in fact it was still very desolate and deserted. It seemed that there were only our family and a few mothers with children, less than 10 people. Fortunately, I asked them and found this section of the train track and took a lot of photos. The kid climbed up and down the train by himself and had a lot of fun.

The characteristic of Pukou Railway Station is that the main and supporting buildings such as the waiting building, platform, rain corridor, ticket office, VIP building, and senior staff dormitory have been systematically preserved, which can be called the most complete "century-old station". The roof is blue-gray machine-made flat tiles, and the facade is painted with earth-yellow cement mortar, which is similar to the shape of a "small second-floor villa". The platform, rain corridor and other ancillary buildings in the Pukou Railway Station building adopt reinforced concrete structure.

In the winter of 1918, Zhu Ziqing went to Beijing to study. He said goodbye to his father at Pukou Railway Station and wrote "Back Figure". On May 28, 1929, the train carrying Sun Yat-sen's coffin arrived at Pukou Railway Station from Beijing via the Jinpu Railway. After a short stop, it crossed the river through the Pukou Wharf and was finally buried in the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum.

The train station is now abandoned. It is said that it will be transformed into a town in the Republic of China before 2020. The abandoned train station and buildings are a place for taking photos. However, it is far from the city center, so it is recommended to take a taxi. It is actually nothing.

The former site of Pukou Railway Station is located in Pukou District, Nanjing City. It was built in the 34th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1908) and covers an area of 20 hectares. It is a well-preserved railway station with the characteristics of the Republic of China in China.

By Black Sage |

I knew about this place because of Mr. Zhu Ziqing's "Back View", so I went there once in late autumn and early winter. First take the subway to Zhujiang Road, then take the bus to Zhongshan Wharf, and finally take the ferry to Pukou Wharf. The train station is not open to the public and is locked by iron gates. However, if you walk to another road, you can still see the abandoned railway tracks and a small stall selling oranges next to it.

By A cabbage |

This place is really old, with old-fashioned buildings and residential areas, which look a bit run-down, but the surrounding areas are being renovated, so those who like retro things will have some gains. There are not many places to take pictures, and the railway is also closed.

By Da |

You can walk around the train station in half an hour. It's a bit disappointing that you can't go inside. But the building outside is well preserved. There are no oranges for sale nearby, so if you need them, please bring them yourself.

Anyone who knows a little about Nanjing will know that before the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge was completed and opened to traffic, Pukou Railway Station carried almost all railway transportation business intersecting with Nanjing.

Therefore, when exploring Nanjing, this place is definitely not to be missed.

The dilapidated old house is no longer inhabited. Walking on the small path is like traveling through time. The red windows and green leaves set off a unique sunset.

I had read in the guide that there was a section of the railway track open to tourists, so I wanted to go and take a look. After searching for a long time and walking around in circles, I still couldn't find it. Then I heard that it was not open to tourists now. I searched over and found that the big iron gate was locked. There was an old man sitting inside, waving his hand to indicate that we could not go in, so we gave up.

Pukou Railway Station is the former Nanjing North Railway Station. It has long been out of service, but now it has become a popular tourist attraction in Nanjing.

By Elegant |

If you are not a railway or old building enthusiast, you don't need to make a special trip, because you will feel that there is nothing to see and it is very remote and dilapidated. However, this is my favorite place in this trip to Nanjing. Pukou Station is closed for protection and the appearance of the entrance is still very good. With the railway employee work permit, you can go to the side door to find the guard and put it in the gate to take a look. There are many red tricycles on the side that can be pulled to unlock hidden attractions: locomotive, railway bridge, and old North Station platform. One attraction is 40 round trips and 20 locomotives. I didn't look at the locomotive and discussed with the auntie, and the two attractions were 60 round trips. After going there, I was experienced that it is very suitable for taking pictures. The vicissitudes of life are dilapidated. The auntie is a driver and an explanation all the way. She also teaches you where to take the best photos. The abandoned railway bridge is my favorite. The British built it for 22 years, and now it has become a pile of rusty iron, but it is also the most dangerous here. Be very careful. I am a person who is not afraid of heights. My legs are a little weak.

Pukou Station is the terminus of the Jinpu Railway. It is the station where the father climbed the platform to buy oranges for his son as described in Zhu Ziqing's "Back View".

After getting off the ferry, you will reach the ruins of Pukou Railway Station! The inside is closed and you can't go in. If you want to take pictures, you can walk in along the road on the right. Not far away, you will reach the overpass and the track.

By Wang Dake 🤔 |

This station is far away. It is the station where Yiping and Shuhuan parted in "My Fair Princess". It is now deserted and dilapidated.

By There is a goldfish named Guagua |

That’s right, it’s the train station where the father bought oranges in Zhu Ziqing’s “Back View”, and it’s also the train station where Yiping and Shuhuan kissed passionately, which felt like a century had passed…

But it is not open, so I can only look at it and take pictures at the door.

During the National Day holiday, the gatekeeper wouldn't let me in. Later, I paid 10 yuan to find a disabled car and drove to the gate where the train service was working. I walked along the track to the platform described by Zhu Ziqing.

It is not so prosperous, but has a sense of history and age, and is full of the style of the Republic of China. The ticket gate, which was once crowded with people, has been submerged in the torrent of time, lonely and deserted. It is worthy of being a punctuation mark in Nanjing's history, and it has its own unique flavor. It is also the filming location of "Love in the Rain" and the last scene of "A Noble Family". The railway tracks are no longer used for trains, and it is a bit desolate and lonely, but it has its own unique beauty. The abandoned and dilapidated railway station represents the memories of several generations.

This place has been contracted by the developer to be used as a railway station museum. The surrounding old houses will be transformed into a commercial street with a Republican style, and the interior of the railway station will be turned into a film and television exhibition hall. Admission may be charged, so it may be a good idea to take a look before the renovation.

By Kangta Zhiming |

It takes about an hour to walk through. There is not much to see inside since it is not open to the public.

By Dazai |

I have tried my best to capture the feeling of the Republic of China, but it does not live up to its name and in reality there is no scenery at all.

By tomato |

I saw many old houses being demolished and renovated when I passed by. After checking the information, I confirmed that this place was contracted by the developer to be used as a railway station museum. The surrounding old houses will be turned into a commercial street with the style of the Republic of China, and the interior of the railway station will be turned into a film and television exhibition hall. It may charge admission, so it may be a good idea to take a look before the renovation. The street lights at the railway crossing are already in bad condition and have a sense of age.

Although the exterior is shabby, it still retains the style of the Republic of China. The gate is also closed. Now it has become a gathering place for photography enthusiasts, where they can find the nostalgic style of the Republic of China they want.

It is a small attraction, but it is very playable. The child likes it very much. He is a train fan. He went there during the Dragon Boat Festival. He took the high-speed rail to Nanjing South, took the subway and then bus No. 31 to the ferry crossing the river to the station, an old platform, an old station. You are not allowed to enter the station, but if you want to get close to the train, you can walk in on the right side of the station. You can reach the railway crossing about 500 meters away, where you can go in and play, but you must pay attention to safety, there are really trains passing by

After getting off the boat at Zhongshan Wharf, you will find Pukou Wharf. After entering, you will find Pukou Railway Station. It was too hot so I didn't go inside. I heard there is an overpass. It feels like an old city.

The most heartwarming story of fatherly love happened here: Mr. Zhu Ziqing’s essay "Background" took place here.

The most touching love stories were filmed here: "My Fair Princess" and "The Story of a Noble Family" were both shot here.

Today's Nanjing North Station is the former site of Pukou Railway Station. Take the ferry at the end of Zhongshan Road. The ticket is 2 yuan. If you don't have change, you can pay with WeChat. It takes about 20 minutes to take me across the river to Pukou. Opposite the Pukou Wharf is the former site of Pukou Station. The whole Pukou gives me a completely different feeling from the other side of the river. This side is not so prosperous, but has a sense of history and age, and is permeated with literary style.

The public telephone booth of Zhenxing Hotel, etc., although old, is very vicissitudes. It is a witness and a story book.

tips:

The last ferry is at 8pm. After 8pm, you have to choose other ways to get back to the other side of the Yangtze River from the Yangtze River Bridge.

A dilapidated train station, but it is quite artistic to take photos there.

It is said that Jiangbei is about to be renovated, and the former Nanjing North Station will also be expanded. Friends who like this kind of historical feeling should hurry up and come here to play!

Kaiwentu is located inside the railway next to the North Station. Although the North Station has been abandoned, the railway is still operating normally, and the factory buildings next to it still look very dilapidated.

It is not recommended to go inside the railway tracks. After all, it is still a work site and there is still a certain degree of danger. I almost got locked in there last time.

Old Nanjing ~ After staying in the city for a long time, you will find that there is always a place worth stopping and walking slowly to feel quietly

By dyke |

Taking the ferry from Zhongshan Wharf, it feels like another century. All the buildings are still in their old state, which can be said to be retro or dilapidated. The former bustle is gone, leaving only empty buildings and a few freight functions.

I heard from the gatekeeper that there has been a plan to transform this place into a tourist attraction, but the developer and the government could not reach an agreement, so it has been shelved. However, even if this place is developed, the initial investment is estimated to be huge. There are no supporting facilities around it, and the attractions are also small. It cannot attract a large number of tourists to recover the cost. I am afraid it will be a losing business.

However, there are still some tourists who come here because of its reputation. There is an entrance on the left side of the train station. If you chat with the gatekeeper, he will let you in to take a look and take photos, but you are not allowed to go too far. It is not easy to go to the platform, and you can't go down the railway. There have been some accidents. I once wanted to "smuggle" through the freight yard on the right, but I saw a vicious dog guarding the place where I got off the railway, so I backed out immediately.

By Jenny |

People who like trains should find it very good. It is a good place to take photos. It is very impressive. It used to be a big station. Now there are many abandoned trains parked here. It is a good place to visit. It is a modern Chinese building, and it is very well preserved, including its ancillary buildings. I heard that this is the location for many movies, so it still looks familiar.

By Life is like a chess game |

Opposite Zhongshan Wharf is Pukou Railway Station, which is currently out of service, but due to its long history, the scenery it presents is still quite unique! I went to Pukou Railway Station when I was in college because I had learned Mr. Zhu Ziqing's "Back View" in middle school and wanted to see what Pukou Railway Station looked like. ps: Pukou Railway Station is also one of the filming locations of the TV series "Love in the Rain".

By The Prince's New Clothes |

Pukou Station has been brought back to people's attention due to a series of literary works such as "Back View" and "Love in the Rain". It was the terminus of the Jinpu Railway before, and it must have been very popular at that time. Nowadays, probably for safety reasons, tourists are no longer allowed to enter the station tracks and platforms. They can only look at them from outside through the railings, but the passages and squares in front of the station still retain their original appearance. The most convenient way to get there is still by boat, as public transportation is too inconvenient at present.

By make a sightseeing tour |

The old site of Pukou Railway Station is located in Pukou District, Jiangbei District, Nanjing. It has a history of 100 years and is the only railway station in my country that retains the characteristics of the Republic of China. It is also one of the most artistic railway stations in China. It was built in 1908 and opened to traffic in 1912. It was once a transportation hub connecting the north and south of the Yangtze River and was very lively. In the past, trains crossed the river here by ferry. After the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge was opened to traffic in 1968, it was gradually discontinued. It was permanently closed in 2004. It is a national cultural relic and is now preserved as a tourist attraction. Many movies and TV shows have been shot here.

By Three-month-old corn |

You can take the ferry back and forth, which is cheap and convenient.

Any corner can be photographed to reflect the sense of time.

The platform that Zhu Ziqing's father climbed down with difficulty in his back view is no longer accessible.

Later, I learned that this was a very important transportation route connecting the north and the south during the Anti-Japanese War, and I felt that it was even more beautiful. At that time, I just thought it was an ordinary railway track. What was there to see? Sure enough, many things will become different as long as they are given meaning.

By The light breeze |

Pukou Old Railway Station, also known as Nanjing North Railway Station, was opened in 1912 and permanently closed in 2004. It is the most complete "century-old railway station" with the characteristics of the Republic of China in China. Her legend also lies in the fact that many important historical events took place here, including the scene in Zhu Ziqing's "Back View", the arrival of Sun Yat-sen's coffin, and the People's Liberation Army's Battle of Crossing the Yangtze River. Today, the railway station's waiting building, platform, rain corridor, and surrounding post office, staff dormitory and other buildings are still preserved. Walking on the street is like going back in time for decades..........

Taking the ferry from Jiangnan to Jiangbei, thinking of Zhu Ziqing's back and the plot of "Deep Love in the Rain", I came here, the very tasteful Nanjing North Station...

By Regular customer |

During the Republic of China period, it was the terminus of the Jinpu Railway. Dr. Sun Yat-sen's coffin was returned to Nanjing from here. Although it has now been converted into a freight station, you can still see the charm of the past. Many newlyweds come here to take wedding photos. It is said that Mr. Zhu Ziqing's "Back View" took place here.

By Xiaoqiang |

The Pukou Railway Station, which has stopped operating, is quite lonely. There is no indication that tourists are allowed to enter the railway station for sightseeing. I quietly sneaked in through the back door. The Pukou Railway Station with a long history is filled with an empty feeling, loneliness, even desolation, and a sense of history.

By Five Talks and Four Beauties, Cats |

When I went to Nanjing this time, I was still hesitant at first whether to go to Pukou, but after thinking about it, I decided it would be a good idea to go and take a look.

Because of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the strict control on weekends, no one was allowed to go on the platform.

But! I went in! In fact, the area around Pukou Station is also very nice and suitable for taking photos~! And there is a pedestrian bridge to the right, where Zheng Wei walked in "So Young"~~~

By China-TravelNote users |

I was deeply touched after reading it. Pukou has grown old and the world has changed a lot!

By Shuhan |

Pukou Station is the terminus of the Jinpu Railway. For several years before the Yangtze River Bridge was opened to traffic, trains heading south would run here and then cross the river via the ferry at the dock. Passenger services here have been suspended since October 2004, and the ticket office, waiting room and platform area have been closed to date, leaving only the freight yard still handling freight services. I remember that in the past few years, you could still take photos on the abandoned platform, but when I went there again, the station area was completely closed and no one was allowed to enter.

The most famous scene here is probably the one described in Zhu Ziqing's "Back View". Of the platforms he wrote about in the article, only one remains in the station square outside the station. In 1929, the remains of Dr. Sun Yat-sen were transported southward via the Jinpu Railway, then crossed the river from Pukou Wharf and were finally buried in the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum at the southern foot of Purple Mountain.

In recent years, some popular period dramas, such as "Love in the Rain", "The Story of a Noble Family" and "Beijing Past", have also been filmed here. Nowadays, except for the occasional tourists and history and photography enthusiasts, there are basically no people who come to visit the station. However, this towering building still shows us its former glory and prosperity.

I had heard that many TV series such as Romance in the Rain were filmed here, so I had always wanted to go and see it. I also wanted to experience the ferry from Zhongshan Wharf to Pukou Wharf. Because of Zhu Ziqing, I know there is a Pukou Railway Station. I thought it was far from the city, but there were not many cars on the road in Nanjing on the morning of the Spring Festival. Bus No. 18 took more than 40 minutes from Shigu Road in Xinjiekou to the Central Pier. After getting off the bus, walk for 5 minutes, transfer to the Yangtze River Ferry at the pier, and arrive at Pukou Pier in 5 minutes. You can see it when you come out.

This is the only railway station in China that has preserved the characteristics of the Republic of China. The railway station and the old buildings around it have been closed as a scenic spot to be developed. You can only look inside through the fence from the outside. The railway track is not accessible, and there are police stations and security guards watching. You can stand by for a while and take a few photos when the other person is in a good mood and there are few people.

Not only did Zhu Ziqing's "Back View" remain here, but the welcoming ceremony for the coffin of Dr. Sun Yat-sen was also held here, and the People's Liberation Army launched the Battle of Crossing the Yangtze River here. This was once the focus of the southern end of the Jinpu Railway, connecting Tianjin in the north. After the opening of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, the Jinpu Railway was renamed the Beijing-Shanghai Railway. This former railway transportation hub has become a figure in the Republic of China period, occasionally appearing in TV dramas.

After getting off the bus, I walked for 5 minutes and transferred to the Yangtze River Ferry at the pier. It arrived at Pukou Pier in 15 minutes and I could see it when I came out.

The railway station and the old buildings around it have been closed as a scenic spot to be developed, and you can only look in from the outside through the fence. The railway track is not accessible, and there are police stations and security guards watching, but you can stand by for a while and take a few photos if the other party is in a good mood and there are few people.

We headed to Zhongshan Wharf to head to the first destination of our trip to Jinling: the former Nanjing North Station (Pukou Railway Station). The guide noted the Pukou Railway Station because there are many buildings from the Republic of China and many film and television drama scenes here, so I wanted to visit it and experience it.

Route: Zhongshan Wharf - Pukou Wharf (arrival upon exiting the wharf)

Ticket: ¥2

Duration: About 15 minutes.

The mottled fonts on the exterior wall of the last century are gradually aging with the history of the year in silence. With the background of the sycamore trees, these buildings with a long history exude a unique atmosphere in tranquility. Pukou Railway Station was built in 1908. A century of history has passed by. After the bustling hustle and bustle, it is the functional transformation of Pukou Railway Station and the embodiment of the daily life of the people of Jinling. There are no eye-catching stunning landscapes here. The remaining buildings of the Republic of China and the daily life of ordinary people can let me, a stranger who came to Nanjing for the first time, understand Nanjing from the most original style of Nanjing. The experience of the first day is very worthwhile and meaningful. Especially when passing the railway bridge, looking at the people shuttling and the trains passing by can evoke the scene when my father took me to visit my grandmother on weekends when I was a child. This thought is very sweet.

The platform is no longer accessible, which is a pity. The station has a rich history and is much more interesting than the man-made antique attractions.

Whether in history books or in TV dramas of the Republic of China, Pukou Railway Station is a place name that often appears. The coffin of Dr. Sun Yat-sen was parked here, and Zhu Ziqing's "Back View" was born here. It is said that the station scenes in TV dramas such as "Love in the Rain" and "The Story of a Noble Family" also come from here. What's more rare is that it really came from a hundred years ago. I believe that there will be many fans of the Republic of China and young people who like to visit here even if there is an entrance fee.

It was my first time to come to Pukou. After leaving the dock, there is the Pukou Railway Station, also called Nanjing North Station, which has been discontinued. On the windows are written the years and months when people came to this place. Time seems to have stopped, as if I have traveled back to the Republic of China. The ticket office at the corner has also become a cultural relic. Walking to the back of the station, I seemed to see the back of Zhu Ziqing's father; the moment when Yiping and Shuhuan said goodbye. Everything here seems to be stuck at a certain moment. On the other side of the track, there is a guard watching and not letting people in. The former entrance looks particularly depressed under the sunlight. The waiting room is empty. Under the awning, I feel like I have traveled back to the Republic of China.

In fact, it is just a look at the railway station of that era, the station of separation and reunion in the rain and deep love, the farewell station in Zhu Ziqing's "Back Figure". Time always urges many things to disappear little by little. Before they disappear, keep them in memory. . . .

Pukou Railway Station is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River in Nanjing. It is also known as Nanjing North Station. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit. It was built in 1914 and was the terminal point of the Jinpu Railway at that time. It has always been a transportation hub between the north and the south and a place of contention for military strategists. In modern Chinese history, Pukou Railway Station is a frequently appearing place name. The coffin of Sun Yat-sen was transported to Nanjing, the People's Liberation Army launched the Battle of Crossing the Yangtze River, and the scenes in Zhu Ziqing's "Back Figure" all took place here. It has unique characteristics of the Republic of China and contains a deep historical heritage of the Republic of China. In recent years, it has gradually become an important location for movies and TV series with the Republic of China as the background. Pukou Railway Station is now also a tourist attraction and filming location for film and television dramas. It is said that the parting station scene in "Deep Love in the Rain" was filmed there. There are also many TV series such as "The Golden Age" that were filmed there. This place has been abandoned for a long time, and the surrounding area seems to have been transformed into a small park. Now it has become a paradise for photography enthusiasts.

Pukou Railway Station is a place frequented by young artists in Nanjing. It is located in the north of the Yangtze River, but it is completely different from the south of the Yangtze River. Going to Pukou is not only for viewing the railway station and appreciating the style of the Republic of China, but also for viewing the Yangtze River Bridge from the best location. Because you can take a boat across the river and reach the center of the river, you will be in a good position to view the Yangtze River Bridge, which is neither too far nor too close.

The train station is closed to the public, so you can only walk around the periphery. There is a villa area from the Republic of China nearby, which is now basically uninhabited and very unique. There are some open railways to the side, which are suitable for taking photos.

Time seemed to have stopped.

Everything here is the same as it was twenty years ago.

It even looks like the Republic of China era.

It seems to be standing outside of time, quietly watching the crowds of people coming and going.

On the assembly line of time, streaks of light and shadow pass by.

Walking on the nearby streets, you can't imagine that this is Nanjing.

Just like every small town, village and street in China.

The old house had faded tiles and peeling paint.

What is being sold at the street corner are the things that remain in our memories from our childhood.

You thought they no longer existed, you thought they were washed away in the torrent of time.

But they are still here, at Pukou Railway Station.

All those old things are still here, and in the most natural state of life.

The street vendors live a normal life here and make a living.

There is no feeling that they are out of time.

This is not a tourist attraction. It feels very real.

It's like you've really gone back twenty years to when you used to take the train from here.

I once said goodbye to my parents and my lover here.

"I don't care where you are, please take care of yourself for me."

This station stands here.

It has buried so much sorrow of parting and carried so many tears of separation.

Once you see your heart is broken, it’s better to go and don’t look back.

Some people say: A Pukou Railway Station is half of the modern history of the Republic of China. In the past, how many meetings and partings took place here. Zhu Ziqing's article "Back Figure" alone is enough to move people, and I believe that in that turbulent era, Pukou Railway Station has witnessed countless more touching stories. When I think about seeing this old station with a story in person, I am also looking forward to it. Unfortunately, I still left a lot of regrets in the end, because when I went there, the station and the platform were no longer open to the public. I heard the old administrator at the door vaguely say that an accident had occurred before, so it was no longer open. I don't know if this closure is permanent. I just hope that this century-old station will not end here, and it can be reborn after proper repairs.

However, even though we were not able to enter the train station, this trip was still fruitful. The slightly dilapidated streets in Pukou District have been restored to their appearance half a century ago, and it was as if we had walked into the old days.

No travel agency or website would recommend this place. It is desolate, dilapidated, and remote, and it is out of tune with the prosperous Nanjing today. The train station has long been out of use, as if it is still in the Republic of China era. But here you can see Nanjing's past, there is Zhu Ziqing's farewell "Back View", there is Dr. Sun Yat-sen's coffin platform, and there are many memories of the Republic of China and old Nanjing. With the development of the times, the shadow of the old times here is becoming more and more blurred. If you really have the leisure time in Nanjing and are interested in these things, then come here for a walk!

In fact, it looks no different from other old train stations in the north. On the contrary, the Yulang Station next to the ferry has a more Republic of China style. But I don’t know why I just like this feeling.

It's like going back to the 1990s, with all kinds of old buildings. It's really nice, it feels like going back to childhood. The rain corridor of the old train station is really old-fashioned. It should be better if you come in autumn!

After leaving Pukou Wharf, you will find Pukou Railway Station, which still maintains the architectural style of the Republic of China a hundred years ago. Passenger transport has been cancelled and only freight is left. It was once the filming location for TV dramas in the Republic of China, and attracted a large number of literary youths to shoot films. Unfortunately, it is now strictly restricted and difficult to enter. After that, I wandered around the area. The entire block was in a state of preparation for demolition, and the local residents still maintained a leisurely and slow life. I passed by a railway overpass and happened to see an old freight train passing by. It was finally worth the trip.
