Shixiang Road

The Stone Elephant Road is part of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. On both sides of the front half are 12 pairs of 6 kinds of stone beasts, which are: lion, Xie, camel, elephant, unicorn, horse, 4 of each kind, two standing and two lying. At the end of the stone beasts, there is a pair of stone pillars. After this, turn north and there are 8 stone statues, 4 civil officials and 4 military generals, standing on the side of the road. The stone figures and stone beasts of the Xiaoling Mausoleum are all carved from a whole piece of stone. They are tall, vivid and rough, and are classic works among the stone carvings of the Ming Dynasty imperial tombs.

The Stone Elephant Road is the most beautiful section of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. Most of the pictures of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum seen on the Internet are taken of this section. 6 groups of 12 pairs of 24 stone animals guard the two ends of the sacred road. Against the backdrop of tall trees, they appear inexplicably solemn and majestic. The lions and elephants are cute and adorable.

There is a small park beside Shixiang Road, which leads to the Sun Quan Memorial Hall. The park is very beautiful and suitable for rest, picnic, daydreaming and looking at leaves. It can be said that this place is the biggest unexpected gain of this trip. You can sit here for a whole day.

Shixiang Road is known as the most beautiful 600 meters in Nanjing. It is the place I look forward to most in my entire trip to Nanjing. I have to say that this most beautiful title belongs to it. The whole road is rendered in the colors of autumn. The scenes that can only be seen in Japanese anime are perfectly presented here.

Whether walking on the main road in the middle or the roads on both sides, the trees are shady and the sunlight is dappled, which is so beautiful that it makes people "suffocate". There are 6 kinds of stone beasts arranged in sequence on both sides of the Stone Elephant Road, 2 pairs of each kind, and a total of 12 pairs on the whole road. There are signs next to each stone head to explain it.

The whole road is straight, with a strong sense of depth. The Ming Dynasty had a vast territory and the emperor was powerful, and the camels living in the remote desert reflected this. The stone lions on Shixiang Road. The lion represents the majesty of the emperor and is a symbol of imperial power. Walking on Shixiang Road, as soon as you look up, you will see such a beautiful scenery. Any frame is a perfect picture. Shixiang Road. It would be a shame not to take a photo of such a beautiful place!

Shixiang Road, the "most beautiful 600 meters in Nanjing"

That's a must-visit place in Nanjing in autumn

It is said that the color starts to change as soon as autumn comes.

The deeper the autumn, the more beautiful the scenery is, as if it were covered with a layer of golden velvet carpet.

You must go in before 6:30, you know

The most distinctive place in the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Scenic Area, you must "check in"

By Luanqi didn't run around |

Located in Chenggong, it is the landmark building of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum and is very similar to the Ming Zuling Mausoleum in Xuyi.

A must-visit spot at the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, you can take a look at the shapes of the mythical beasts, which seem to be quite round.

Nanjing Stone Statue Road is really worth a visit, especially in autumn, when the leaves turn yellow and red, and the scenery is stunningly beautiful.

The most famous part of Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is the Stone Elephant Road.

It's a pity that I went there on a weekend, so there were really a lot of people. The narrow Shixiang Road was crowded with people taking photos. It was really hard to find an angle to take a photo without any A, B, C, or D. Along the way, there were stone elephants, camels, stone lions, unicorns, horses and other animal statues with royal power and protection symbols, symmetrically distributed on both sides of the road. Among so many animals, I like camels the most.

Less than one kilometer southeast along Shixiang Road is the "Meiling Palace", the official residence of Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling in Nanjing.

This path is full of colorful trees in late autumn, with leaves slowly falling. The ginkgo and sycamore trees on both sides and the passers-by walking slowly will stop for this scene and feel the breath of autumn. It is also very suitable for taking pictures and producing films, which is very artistic.

By Bear Paw Fish |

In fact, the legendary Stone Elephant Road is most beautiful in late autumn. We went there in early September, so we could only see the scenery gradually changing with autumn. The stone elephants on both sides of the sacred road stood quietly on both sides of the road, welcoming and seeing off people in this solemn atmosphere for more than 600 years. No matter how the outside world changes, time seems to have frozen here. Such beautiful scenery has been played out here over and over again, and it has passed through more than 600 years, so we are lucky enough to appreciate it.

Before I went to Nanjing, I saw the introduction of China-TravelNote, which is the most beautiful 600 meters in Nanjing. The golden leaves of the ginkgo trees brought me a great visual impact. I walked back and forth twice and took many photos. I liked it very much.

Located at Exit 1 of Ming Xiaoling Scenic Area, just walk straight in. This is the most beautiful path, with lifelike stone elephants and autumn leaves falling all over the ground, which is very artistic. It is a must-see place when you come to Nanjing. It is most convenient to take the bus, just get off at Ming Xiaoling on Line 20.

Shixiang Road is the highlight of the Ming Xiaoling Scenic Area. The scenery here is the most beautiful in autumn, with a perfect combination of cultural and natural landscapes.

In addition to the mausoleum, the most fascinating part of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is the sacred road. In late autumn, the forest is full of colors, and it feels like every frame is a blockbuster. But when I came, it was still mid-October, and the maple leaves were not yet red. The beech trees, mountain peppers, and some colorful leaf trees that I couldn’t name all showed their charm. The red, yellow, orange, purple, and green layers intertwined to form a rich and colorful oil painting. It was just that it was a gray and cloudy day, so the photos I took were a little dark. The Stone Elephant Road is not only about stone elephants, but also pixiu, lions, tigers, and red deer. I finally saw a lifelike elephant at the end of the road.

Going northwest along the road, you will reach the Stone Elephant Road, the first section of the Xiaoling Sacred Road, which is more than 600 meters long. On both sides of the road, from east to west, there are stone beasts guarding the tomb: lions, xiezhi, camels, elephants, unicorns, and horses, four of each kind, two squatting and two standing, for a total of twelve pairs.

By Tamama |

A very cute road, and basically a must-go and photo-taking spot!

By Iceforsnow |

The first section of the Shinto Road in the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is quiet, solemn, and dignified. The stone statues themselves are simple and vivid, and they are still lifelike after 600 years. Walking on the Shinto Road is like traveling through the past. . .

By Green water chestnuts swimming in the water |

Be sure to choose the right season, autumn is super beautiful, and the ginkgo leaves are beautiful when they change color.

By Moon around the world |

The autumn scenery of Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is mainly Shixiang Road. However, if you want to take artistic portraits, you must come in the early morning when there is no one around, otherwise you can only take pictures of the crowds.. (depressed face) And the light in the early morning is also better ~ (It happened to be cloudy when I went there T_T)

It’s very beautiful. It’s lively when there are many people and solemn when there are few people.

By Shallow palm prints |

The Stone Statue Road stretches from east to northwest, with six kinds of stone animals, lions, xiezhi, camels, elephants, unicorns, and horses, arranged on both sides, two pairs of each, a total of 12 pairs and 24 pieces, two kneeling and two standing for each kind, lining the road to welcome the guests. This section of the road is quite long, and it took me a long time to take pictures of each one.

By alawys |

It's OK. There are many traces of artificiality. There is no natural scenery. Most of the pictures on the Internet should be colored. The Shinto Road is very long. There are ginkgo trees on both sides of the road. The statues are very cute and tall. Some are very solemn.

By Top Bunny |

The Stone Elephant Road is the first half of the Xiaoling Mausoleum Sacred Road. It runs from east to west for 615 meters. There are twelve pairs of six kinds of stone beasts on both sides, namely: lion, Xie, camel, elephant, unicorn, and horse, four of each kind, two standing and two lying. These six kinds of stone beasts have their own meanings. The first kind is "lion". The lion is the first because the lion is fierce and the beasts are all terrified when they hear its voice. Therefore, placing a pair of lions in front of the mausoleum is a sign of majesty. The second kind is "Xie". Xie is a legendary beast with a horn on its head. It is said that if it encounters a dispute between two people, it will offend an unrighteous person. Therefore, placing it in front of the mausoleum means to ward off evil. Camels and elephants are means of transportation in deserts and tropical areas. They are placed in front of the mausoleum to show the wide range of the emperor's rule. The fifth kind is "Qilin" - the favorite of the rabbit cub! Qilin is a "auspicious" beast in mythology. Dragon, phoenix, turtle and unicorn were called "four spirits" in ancient times. The sixth kind is "horse". Horse is good at running and is the emperor's mount. The three ministers of civil, military and honor represent all civil and military officials, thus indicating the consolidation of the dynasty.

Coordinates: After coming out of the Ming Xiaoling Scenic Area, you will find Shixiang Road along the road.

In fact, I discovered it by accident.

The road is quite long, with many statues on both sides.

Among them, the stone elephant 🐘 is the most popular.

The scenery is pretty good.

The scenery of the Ganesha Road is quite good. I think it will be more beautiful when the leaves turn yellow in autumn! Various gods guard the road. I admire the wisdom of the ancient people.

By Ride the pig forward |

On both sides of the first half of the Stone Elephant Road, there are 12 pairs of 6 kinds of stone animals, in order: lion, xie, camel, elephant, unicorn, horse, 4 of each kind, two standing and two lying. At the end of the stone animals, there is a pair of stone pillars (also known as Huabiao), after which it turns north and there are 8 stone statues, 4 civil officials and 4 military generals, standing on the side of the road. The stone men and stone animals of the Xiaoling Mausoleum are all carved from a whole piece of stone, with large bodies, vivid and rough, and are classic works of stone carvings in the imperial tombs of the Ming Dynasty.

It is recommended to visit Shinto in autumn, when the sweet-scented osmanthus is fragrant and the ginkgo leaves are yellow.

It's a very long road, the stone statues are well preserved. I went there in February, the trees were not green yet, so the photos were not beautiful.

When you reach a pair of watchtowers, you will reach the sacred way of Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. I think the most famous thing about Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is the stone statues on the sacred way.

In addition to one pair of watchtowers, there are a total of 18 pairs of stone statues in the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. Among them, there are 3 pairs of civil officials and 3 pairs of military generals on the Weng Zhong Road, 1 pair of standing and lying horses, 1 pair of standing and sitting unicorns, 1 pair of standing and lying elephants, 1 pair of standing and lying camels, 1 pair of standing and sitting lions, and 1 pair of standing and sitting lions. These are on the Stone Elephant Road.

It's worth a visit for friends who like history. The historical value is quite good, but it's a pity that some tourists have damaged some of the stone statues.

Shixiang Road Shixiang Road in the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Scenic Area is one of the famous sacred roads in my country. When we walk into Shixiang Road from the east, we first see the stone lion. The lion is the king of beasts and the symbol of imperial power, so it is at the forefront of the sacred road. Then there is Xiezhi, which is a guardian beast and the embodiment of justice. Xiezhi has a horn on its head, which is used to stab guilty people, but unfortunately this horn has been broken. Next is the camel, which symbolizes the desert and represents the strong national strength and vast territory of the Ming Dynasty. Next is the elephant, which is really too big, twice as tall as the stone horse.

By Water Sky |

The white marble pillars and the stone statue road ahead. The eastern section of the sacred road of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum extends from east to northwest. On both sides of the road, there are six kinds of stone beasts, lions, xiezhi, camels, elephants, unicorns, and horses, arranged in order, 2 pairs of each kind, a total of 12 pairs and 24 pieces, two kneeling and two standing for each kind, lining the road to welcome the guests. These stone beasts embody the etiquette requirements of the royal mausoleums, and each has its own meaning: the lion is the king of beasts, showing the majesty of the emperor. It is not only a symbol of imperial power, but also plays a role in suppressing demons and warding off evil spirits; the Xiezhi is a mythical beast with a single horn, a lion's body, and green hair. It is loyal and able to distinguish right from wrong, and it can use its horns to gore guilty people; the camel is a symbol of the desert and the tropics, representing the vast territory of the Ming Dynasty and the emperor's power in all directions; the elephant is a giant among beasts, with four strong and powerful legs, as solid as a rock, representing the stability of the country; the Qilin is the head of the legendary "Four Spirits", namely the Qilin, the turtle, the dragon, and the phoenix. It is a benevolent beast covered with scales, does not walk on grass, and does not eat living things. The male is called Qilin and the female is called Lin, symbolizing "a benevolent and righteous monarch" and auspiciousness and light; the horse was an important mount for the emperor to fight wars and unify the country in ancient times. Among the six kinds of stone beasts on the sacred road of Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, the elephant is the largest, weighing 80 tons. This section of the sacred road is now commonly known as the Stone Statue Road, with a total length of 615 meters.

I took a taxi to Ming Xiaoling Shixiang Road at 6:40 am on November 9, 2016. I didn't need a ticket because I arrived before 7 am. It was cloudy and the temperature was 8 degrees. The leaves were red, yellow and green, which was very beautiful. The scenery would be different depending on the weather that year. If the north wind was strong, the leaves would fall off. The best viewing period should be around November 15th every year, when the leaves will completely change color. Some people like fallen leaves, while some people like the leaves on the trees to change color without being blown off by the wind. Those who like fallen leaves on the ground can postpone their visit to between November 15th and 20th. The above photos enhance the contrast, and the actual leaves are not that red.

By Jumping Rabbit_ |

I went there early in the morning. If you enter the park before 6:30, you don't need to pay for tickets. Many elderly people are leaning on the stone statues to exercise. This is the first time I have seen this kind of exercise method. It feels very special and cute. I like camels and elephants~

It feels the same as the Weng Zhong Daode, but because these are animal statues, the sense of history is not as strong as that over there.

The greenery on both sides of Shixiang Road is good, and it attracts many tourists to stop and take pictures during holidays. It is a good way to go to the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum in the hot summer. There are two stone elephants facing each other not far apart on the road to welcome visitors, adding a lot of fun to the journey.

A must-see attraction in Nanjing in autumn. The entire Shinto Road is very beautiful, and the 24 pairs of mythical beasts are very simple and have a sense of historical vicissitudes. It is definitely worth a visit. It is right at the entrance of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, very easy to find, and is the most distinctive place in the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. I highly recommend it.

The Stone Elephant Road is located on both sides of the sacred road of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. The stone statues are very cute and round. (The sacred road is divided into two sections. The first section is east-west and is now called the Stone Elephant Road, named after the tall stone elephants on the road. The Stone Elephant Road is 615 meters long. There are 24 stone animals of 6 kinds and 12 pairs on both sides of the road, 4 of each kind, two squatting and two standing, respectively, lions, xiezhi, camels, elephants, unicorns and horses.) This section was found by looking up information, which is more specific and accurate, so as not to mislead everyone due to lack of personal knowledge. I have seen many photos of Nanjing, and they all choose the Stone Elephant Road as the opening, also because the scenery here is really beautiful, especially in autumn, so I plan to come here again in autumn to see it.

The Stone Statue Road is located in the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. It is the sacred road of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. There are two rows of stone horses and stone elephants. In autumn, the ground is covered with red leaves, which is very beautiful. November every year is definitely the most beautiful time for the Stone Statue Road. Countless tourists and photography enthusiasts come here just to see the most beautiful Stone Statue Road dressed up in autumn leaves, ginkgo and red maple, yellow and red leaves, blue sky and green land, which are never boring to see. In fact, the Stone Statue Road is not very long. You can walk forward while enjoying the scenery. Turning at the end is the second section of the sacred road! Unlike the animals on the Stone Statue Road, this section is composed entirely of people, called the Weng Zhong Road Sacred Road.

The autumn scenery of Shixiang Road is a famous beauty in Nanjing. The scenery is different every day in early autumn, mid-autumn and late autumn. If you want to take pictures of ginkgo trees, you should go around November 20th. The leaves fall every day, so you have to race against time and the sun.

The Stone Elephant Road is located in the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Scenic Area. It is a place that makes you nostalgic and fantasize about traveling. There is an inexplicable force that attracts you. The lush tree-lined avenue in summer and the autumn scenery make you linger. It is more than 600 meters long and has six kinds of animals. I heard that they have a history of 600 years. In autumn, this stone road is famous for its beauty! When I went there, it was the Spring Festival. It was very popular and there were people everywhere. For those who like this place, this place is never boring. Because of its profound historical significance, it will overwhelm your visual enjoyment.

The transportation is quite convenient. You can walk a short distance from Subway Line 2 to the Zhongshan Mausoleum Scenic Area. Shixiang Road is now included in the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Scenic Area. The Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum and other attractions are all part of the Zhongshan Mausoleum Scenic Area. We went there in late November 2015, and the ticket price was 70 per person.

To put it bluntly, the reason for going to Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is to go to the Stone Elephant Road in front of the gate. Many of the beautiful pictures of Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, including those printed on the tickets, are the beautiful scenery of the Stone Elephant Road with fallen leaves in autumn. On the way in, you will pass by 4 or 5 pairs of mythical beasts standing on both sides of the Stone Elephant Road. The whole road is covered with golden leaves, which is very beautiful.

It is recommended to go there in late November, when the maple leaves are just beginning to turn red and the ginkgo trees are already yellow, making for beautiful photo opportunities.

There is now a shuttle bus between scenic spots at the entrance of Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum for 10 yuan per person. You can take a sightseeing bus directly to Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, which is very convenient.

If you love it, you will be willing to spend time to understand it.

I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to get back to the hotel to check out before 12 o'clock, so I simply got up early to check out, bought two steamed buns and ate them directly on the bus to Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum.

Dawn is breaking, just right. At this time, the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is quietly accompanied by only people who love it and are willing to understand it as much as I do.

Just out of pure admiration, I walked back and forth several times on the stone statue path.

Just because of a lucky encounter, I happened to come face to face with the yellowed Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum.

People in Nanjing are really happy. I met a Nanjing aunt on the road and we chatted about life. She said she was happy in Zhejiang, and I said I was happy here. So let's embrace each other's happiness and cherish life.

Their style is rough, vigorous, simple, majestic, and extraordinary. This group of stone sculptures is symmetrically arranged on both sides of the sacred road, more than 800 meters long from north to south, forming a long and majestic queue, making the imperial mausoleum appear more holy, solemn and solemn. The Stone Statue Road is located in the Ming Xiaoling Scenic Area in Nanjing; just turn right from the gate of the Ming Xiaoling Scenic Area (Mingling Road); autumn is the most beautiful season for the Stone Statue Road, when the colorful trees and the hundreds of years old stone statues complement each other, which is very beautiful.

Breathing the fresh and moist air after the morning rain, touching the ruins that have been through thousands of years, closing your eyes, it seems as if you have returned to the world 700 years ago. How did people live during the Hongwu period, how did they design mythical beasts of different shapes, how did they carve exquisite and tall stone statues, how did they transport them here, and how did they build such a grand mausoleum... I really admire human wisdom and diligence.

The Shinto Road is divided into two sections. One section has two pairs of civil officials and samurai, and the other end is here, full of animals. I vaguely remember there were horses, unicorns, camels, elephants, xiezhi, stone lions... I can't remember them clearly, but they were all animals standing and squatting. Although it's not as beautiful as the fiery red in autumn as shown on the ticket, the lush green in summer is also refreshing.

The Stone Elephant Road is located in the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Scenic Area. The ticket to the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Scenic Area is 70 yuan. You can enter for free before 6:30 in the morning (you must enter before 6 or even earlier during the Plum Blossom Festival\(^o^)/~). The Stone Elephant Road is 615 meters long. There are 12 pairs of stone statues of six animals, including lions, xiezhi, camels, elephants, unicorns, and horses, with a total of 24 statues standing or standing on both sides of the road. The Stone Elephant Road is the sacred road of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. The most beautiful time for the Stone Statue Road is in late autumn. There are red beech trees, yellow ginkgo trees, orange Chinese tallow trees, brown-yellow French plane trees, and evergreen junipers along the road. It is colorful.

Every time you walk along the Stone Statue Road, you see a different scenery. As the seasons change and the years pass, these six kinds of twelve pairs of twenty-four stone beasts have been guarding the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, as if they have spirituality and have become a business card of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. This autumn, you must go to see the Stone Statue Road covered with fallen leaves and sprinkled with sunlight.

The Shixiang Road Shinto is not as tall as I imagined. I feel that the autumn scenery online is more beautiful.

Walking on Shixiang Road, I feel like I'm back to my childhood. Walking here, I have a lot of feelings. This road is not very long, about 200 meters.

Located at the entrance of Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum in Zhongshan Scenic Area, there is a road with big trees on both sides. Under the trees are two rows of stone statues of animals, one pair standing, and the next pair kneeling, including camels, horses, elephants, lions, etc. The stone statues are larger than the actual animals, and the outlines are more rugged.

This scenic spot has Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, Plum Blossom Hill, and Cherry Blossom Garden. In spring, you can enjoy many flowers and plants, especially cherry blossoms and crabapples. There are package tickets for the scenic spot. The whole Zhongshan Scenic Area is 100 yuan during the Plum Blossom Festival, and the Plum Blossom Hill Scenic Area alone is 60 yuan.

These stone statues should be the guards of the cemetery, solemn and dignified. The overall protection is still relatively good, with a few broken and cracked, but most of them are still intact.

An important part of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum in Nanjing is the Shen Road. I have been to the Ming Tombs in Beijing before. Although they are all tombs of the Ming Dynasty, the Shen Road of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is different from the Shendao of the Ming Tombs. The Xiaoling Mausoleum placed the Weng Zhong Road Shendao one kilometer away from the left side of the mausoleum. If there is no signpost, it will be missed. Weng Zhong Road is the second section of the Shendao, 250 meters long, with a pair of pillars, two pairs of generals and two pairs of civil officials arranged in sequence. Fortunately, the stone statues are well preserved. Personally, I feel that it is even much better than the Ming Tombs. The Stone Statue Road is the first section of the Xiaoling Shendao, 615 meters long. Along the way, there are six kinds of stone beasts, lions, Xiezhi, camels, elephants, unicorns and horses. These stone beasts are all carved from a whole piece of stone. It can even be said that it is a miracle that they can be preserved intact to this day! The expressions of the stone statues are very realistic, showing the supreme status of the emperors of the Ming Dynasty! It is worth a visit!

Although weathering has eroded the stone statues, the skills of ancient craftsmen are amazing

We went there in mid-November, when the autumn colors had not yet fully permeated. The leaves on both sides of the stone statue path were half yellow, which was already an attractive sight.

The Stone Elephant Road is actually the front half of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Sacred Road. The main sections of the Sacred Road are the "Stone Statue Road" and the "Weng Zhong Road", which are about 800 meters long. The Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Sacred Road is significantly different from the imperial mausoleums of previous dynasties. The sacred roads before the Ming Dynasty were short and straight, while the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Sacred Road is winding and twists around the Meihua Mountain where the tomb of Sun Quan from the Three Kingdoms period was built, forming a curved shape like the Big Dipper.

If you enter the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum from Gate No. 1 on the sacred path, you can see this unique stone elephant sculpture in ancient Chinese tombs.

Tickets are 70 yuan, and seniors can buy half-price tickets. It is very large and crowded, and it is very convenient to go there from Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. The Shinto is very long and the scenery is beautiful. It is best to walk. The scenery is different in different seasons. It is green in summer and red in autumn.

There is a unique sacred road in the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Scenic Area in Nanjing. It is not straight, but goes around the mountain.

The Stone Statue Road is the first section of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Sacred Road. On both sides of the road are lined with carved stone beasts, which have high artistic value and represent the highest level of sculpture in the early Ming Dynasty.

The Stone Statue Road is the first section of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Sacred Road, which is 615 meters long. On both sides of the road are arranged six kinds of stone animals: lion, xiezhi, camel, elephant, kylin and horse.

These stone beasts are carved from a whole piece of stone, with smooth and rounded lines, rough style, grand spirit, and mighty expression, showing strength and bravery. They symbolize the loftiness, holiness and magnificence of the imperial mausoleum, and also play a symbolic role in warding off evil spirits, etiquette and protection.

Compared with the sacred road of the Ming Dynasty's Thirteen Tombs, it is less delicate but more powerful, courageous and ambitious, showing the unique style of the founding emperor.

The stone lion is known as the "king of beasts". It is flexible and ferocious by nature, able to tame all the beasts in the forest, and is revered as a sacred animal in Buddhism.

Stone lions are placed in front of the imperial tomb to show the emperor's majesty and powerful force.

The Qilin is a kind of auspicious beast imagined by ancient people, combining the features of a tiger, a lion, an ox and a dragon into one. It only appears when the emperor is benevolent and is an imperial item that can only be placed in the imperial tomb.

Horses were an integral part of the emperor's guards at court ceremonies in the Ming Dynasty, so stone horses were indispensable in front of the emperor's mausoleum. The stone horses have bright eyes and an excited look, as if showing off the emperor's achievements during his lifetime.

The arrangement of camels in front of the mausoleum was first created in the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. The camels, with their heads held high and their chests puffed out, symbolize the country's strong power, peace in the Western Regions, and prosperity of the country.

Xiezhi, with bear eyes and one horn, is also called the beast of law. It is a mythical beast in legend. When encountering two people fighting, it will use its horn to touch the person who is not in good shape. Placing it in front of the mausoleum symbolizes "integrity and impartiality".
