Nanjing Six Dynasties Museum, located on the east side of the Presidential Palace, opened in 2014 and designed by Pei Jianzhong, son of the master architect I.M. Pei, is a modern professional museum with the theme of displaying the culture of the Six Dynasties. Tickets are 30 yuan. We always say that Nanjing is the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties, which are Wu, Eastern Jin, Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen. These six dynasties all used Nanjing as their capital. The Six Dynasties Museum is built on a section of the city wall ruins excavated in 2008.

When visiting, I suggest you buy a stamp collection booklet at the merchandise department at the entrance. It costs 10 yuan per booklet. It contains 20 images of exquisite cultural relics. You can find the corresponding commemorative stamps according to the images and stamp them. There are four stamps at each stamping point, and there are five stamping points in total. This is very interesting and a process of exploration and discovery.

By Lao Hu |

The scenery in the exhibition hall cleverly uses the light and shadow of modern technology. Not only can you visit the displayed cultural relics, but the decoration layout of each exhibition hall is also a scenery that cannot be missed. Flexible use of ancient light and shadow, screens and partitions. White cloth is paper, and bamboo shadows are used for painting. It creates a visual effect of changing scenery, which complements the placement of cultural relics and is full of artistic conception. The most impressive thing in the museum is the cute chicken head pot. The most popular photo spot in the museum. Bonsai, tea sets, ink bamboo, and light boxes form a beautiful scene of the early morning moon in the sky. It seems as if you have passed through the ancient door and came to the Six Dynasties period, enjoying this bright moon with the ancients.

In addition to these exquisite and ingenious designs, the museum is also full of magnificent layouts.

Tips:

In addition to historical relics and scene layouts, there is also an intelligent robot at the entrance to the first floor of the museum where you can play with it.

The museum ranked first in my mind, far exceeding expectations. Although the collections are not rich enough and the value is not precious enough, in terms of design and artistry, atmosphere creation and architectural concepts, the dozens of museums I have seen so far are second to none, and I strongly recommend it. This museum was designed by the American Pei Architecture Office (son of I.M. Pei), using I.M. Pei's famous glass light and shadow effect (Louvre), and is divided into four exhibition halls according to the history of the Six Dynasties, ruins, outstanding people, and style. It tells the glorious history of Jinling for 300 years and shows the romantic affairs of the Six Dynasties in Jiankang City. Through three-dimensional cutting, it gives more historical precipitation and layering, and through vivid portrayal and vivid layout, it shows the unique charm of the Six Dynasties. The overall color tone is based on the Six Dynasties' advocacy of nature, bright and calm aesthetic taste, elegant and extraordinary, bringing a lot of spiritual pleasure and enjoyment. A kind of romanticism I love most, the Six Dynasties characters and late Tang poems. The atmosphere, design, details, classification, collections, annotations, and light and shadow of the museum all fit the characteristics of the Six Dynasties. Strolling in this era of ill-fated gatherings and separations, you can feel the swords and fire, poetry and wine of the Six Dynasties of Wu, Jin, Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen, and appreciate the beauty of calligraphy, painting, sculpture and other arts of the Six Dynasties. You can recall the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove who were wild and wanton, talking and singing, wearing hats and wide belts, and the romantic figures such as Xie An and Wang Youjun who had both Buddhist nature and mysterious heart, deep affection and wonderful appreciation, and extraordinary talents and personalities. They played the piano, chess, calligraphy and painting, and expressed their feelings for the mountains and rivers, and drank wine in the winding water. They were unrestrained and unrestrained, and understood the words in a room, and were unrestrained outside. At present, there are not many tourists and it is not well-known outside. It is far away from the hustle and bustle, quiet and peaceful, and you can wander in it and enjoy it.

The importance of a museum's exhibits is not about quantity or completeness, but about having a clear theme and corresponding exhibit layout.

The Six Dynasties Museum is a theme museum dedicated to displaying the history of Nanjing as the "Ancient Capital of Six Dynasties". It mainly displays archaeological discoveries and cultural relics from the Three Kingdoms, Jin Dynasty and Southern and Northern Dynasties in Nanjing.

Although the number and quality of the cultural relics here cannot be compared with those of the Palace Museum or the Shaanxi History Museum, the museum has done a good job of sorting out a clear exhibition thread, fully displaying the historical features of Nanjing during the Six Dynasties period; some of the cultural relics in the collection are also very interesting, which adds to the fun of the visit.

We went there at about 3pm on Saturday afternoon, and were lucky enough to catch the volunteer explanation time. Within 2 hours, the volunteers took us to all the major exhibition areas in the museum and gave detailed introductions to the important exhibits, allowing visitors to understand the stories behind many cultural relics.

It can be said that the Six Dynasties Museum is unexpectedly beautiful and I gained a lot from this visit.

The Six Dynasties Museum is located next to the Presidential Palace. It is the only museum built on the site of the imperial city. The ticket is 35 yuan, and the student ID card is half price. There are volunteers to explain at around 3 pm. You can go to the service desk in advance to apply and borrow headphones with your ID card. The Six Dynasties Museum is really quieter than the Presidential Palace, but I think it has a profound meaning. At that time, Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty, Yang Jian, fought to the gate of the palace of Emperor Chen Houzhu, took people to plunder property, forced the people to move the capital to Daxing City, and flattened all the buildings on the ground. It was not until the ground construction that the ruins of the imperial city reappeared in front of the world. The museum is very popular science. The day of the tile is a promotional video in the museum, which is particularly interesting. There is also a wall covered with tiles. There are soul bottles and underglaze colors upstairs. The pointillism display is worth a visit. However, the so-called Jinling cosmetics and elegance are just the imagination of the predecessors based on history. Because the ruins are destroyed, we may not be able to restore the daily life at that time, but the museum is still worth a visit.

By Volcano Girl__ |

It is also the museum that ranks first in my mind at present, which greatly exceeded my expectations. Although the collections are not rich, the design sense, artistry, atmosphere creation and architectural concept are all worth studying. The three hundred years of glorious history of Jinling and the romantic affairs of Jiankang City in the Six Dynasties are all presented one by one under the pen of the designer.

Designed in the style of Suzhou gardens, with changing views as you move from pavilion to pavilion, you can stroll through this era of ill-fated, unpredictable gatherings and separations, and quietly feel the swords and fire, poetry and wine of the Wu, Jin, Song, Qi, Liang, Chen and Six Dynasties.

The Six Dynasties Museum was chosen at the request of Mr. Bai. He was attracted by the pictures on the Internet and wanted to take pictures of the so-called "thousands of arrows piercing the heart". But in fact, the experience was very good. It is a small and exquisite museum with not many people. If you want to learn about the history of the Six Dynasties, you can go and have a look. Remember to scan the QR code to listen to the explanation, otherwise the effect will be greatly reduced.

The Six Dynasties Museum, as the name suggests, is a museum that displays cultural relics from the Six Dynasties. The Six Dynasties refer to the Eastern Wu, Eastern Jin, Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen dynasties from the beginning of the 3rd century to the end of the 6th century. Since the Six Dynasties established their capital in Nanjing, Nanjing is also known as the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. The Six Dynasties Museum was designed by Pei Architecture (not by I.M. Pei but by his son). I originally went there for this reason and had high expectations, but after visiting it, I felt that it was still a little different from the Suzhou Museum designed by I.M. Pei himself.

Next to the Presidential Palace is the Six Dynasties Museum, which I just discovered here. It takes about 5 minutes to walk here. Actually, I love to visit many attractions when I go out to play. I always feel that there are few places I haven't visited, just like I have never been here. There are volunteer guides here, and they are very good at explaining. It is said that some of them are doctors. This model is really good. I admire these enthusiastic people who love blue whales. This place is also quite big, but it is enough to walk around for more than an hour.

By Lanlan |

The Six Dynasties Museum is next to the Presidential Palace, and it takes only a few minutes to walk there. The building was designed by Pei Jianzhong, the son of I.M. Pei. The exhibition hall is divided into four parts: "The Capital of the Six Dynasties", "The Style of the Six Dynasties", "The Outstanding People of the Six Dynasties", and "Looking Back at the Six Dynasties", showing the architecture, life, and artistic discoveries of the Eastern Wu, Eastern Jin, Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen periods.

By Distant Mountains |

The Nanjing Six Dynasties Museum is on the way from the Presidential Palace to the Plum Garden. The gate looks very impressive from the outside, so I bought a ticket and went in. There are three floors in total. The first floor has no exhibits and is used for reception and audio-visual playback. There are some exhibits on the underground floor, but they are just some pig and cow bones and some remaining relics. The second floor above ground has some porcelain, but most of them are imitations, and there are text introductions. I personally think this museum has no practical significance.

By Traveling around the world |

The Six Dynasties Museum is not about how grand it is or how precious its collections are, but its spatial design that incorporates historical culture is enough to rank it among the top museums in my mind. It was designed by Mr. Pei Jianzhong, the son of world-class architect I.M. Pei, and reflects the aesthetic taste of the people of the Six Dynasties, and is very consistent with the Jiangnan landscape and the simple elegance of literati. In short, it is worth a visit. It is near the Presidential Palace, so I might as well take a look.

By Horses trample on Donghu |

The Three Kingdoms, the Jin Dynasty, and the Northern and Southern Dynasties are a very interesting period of time. Buttons and stools were invented at this time, and the practice of wearing clothes in two pieces began at this time. In other words, many of the small details of our lives today can be traced back to this period of constant war and chaos.

I don't like things that are too ostentatious, I prefer to be gentle and introverted, but they shine when the light shines on them, and there's a sense of pride in their bones, which I think is very similar to the character of us Chinese people. Of course, this is also the feeling that this celadon lotus vase gives me.

I have seen quite a few artworks from this era. I came to the Six Dynasties Museum for this celadon underglaze colored feather figure pattern pan-mouthed pot. After seeing this, one of the 195 pieces prohibited from leaving the country, the trip was worthwhile.

Now that I have talked about the good things, let’s talk about the bad things.

1. Placing the limited collections in these imaginary art settings may seem beautiful to modern people, but it is not the aesthetic taste of people at that time, and the form is greater than the content;

2. After visiting the second floor, you can only go up to the third floor and cannot go down to the first floor directly. This unreasonable design is inconvenient in normal times and makes things worse in case of fire.

Detailed address: No. 302, Changjiang Road, Xuanwu District, Nanjing

Transportation Tips: Not far east of the famous Presidential Palace, next to Shenghe Winery (Hexie)

Opening hours: 9am to 5pm, closed on Mondays

Per capita consumption: Tickets are 30 yuan/person. China-TravelNote has discounted e-tickets. Other expenses are up to you.

Featured Recommendation:

1. Manual explanations are irregular, and there will be 📣broadcasts📣 when the time comes

2. The floor tiles on the second floor from the elevator to the exhibition hall are made of fossils. If you look closely, you can recognize the shapes of many small animals.

3. Human-faced tiles on the first floor of the basement + ruins

4. The two items on the second floor have been recommended in the main text. The Liushang Qushui chair in the rest area has a 3.5mm headphone jack, which can be used to listen to the ancient music "Guangling San" and "Gao Shan Liu Shui". If you want to listen, remember to bring wired headphones

The Six Dynasties Museum was designed by Pei Jianzhong, son of world-renowned architect I.M. Pei, and his senior design team. The team systematically applied Pei's architectural modulus, Pei-style architectural geometry, and Pei's architectural light and shadow. It was officially opened to the public on August 11, 2014. The Wu, Eastern Jin, Liu Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen dynasties successively established their capitals in Jiankang (called Jianye in Wu, now Nanjing), which is known as the Six Dynasties. There are four exhibition halls: "Imperial Capital of the Six Dynasties", "Eternal Style", "Six Dynasties Style" and "Six Dynasties Prodigies". It is a good place to systematically understand the culture of the Six Dynasties and a good choice to appreciate aesthetic design. Mr. Zong Baihua pointed out in his famous paper "On A New Account of Tales of the World and the Beauty of the People of Jin": "The late Han Dynasty, the Wei, Jin and the Six Dynasties were the most politically chaotic and socially painful era in China, but it was also an era of great spiritual freedom, liberation, wisdom and enthusiasm. Therefore, it was also an era rich in artistic spirit." The Six Dynasties was another turbulent and divided era spanning nearly four hundred years after the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. It was also an era of free and liberated thought, and literature and art flourished and flourished!

It is more beautiful than I imagined, and it is a pleasant surprise. Students can get it for free without paying half the price.

My favorite place in Nanjing this time. Pei’s design lives up to its reputation. The use of light and shadow adds infinite charm, and the use of borrowed scenery is extremely clever. The whole museum is magnificent, and the elegance of the Wei and Jin Dynasties is in full view.

By 2 years ago |

The original building can be restored relatively completely, and there are free audio guides, showing the food, clothing, housing, transportation, culture and art of the people of the Six Dynasties.

By Black Beans |

It's more beautiful than expected. I went out to visit the cultural and creative store and found a small book with stamps to check in. The circle of friends on the first floor is very naughty.

By Shallow |

If the Nanjing Museum is a lady from a noble family, then the Six Dynasties Museum must be a beautiful girl from a small family. It has a clever design, a coherent theme, and is shy like the south of the Yangtze River, yet full of vitality.

By SIR |

The building itself is amazing (it seems to be designed by I.M. Pei), and the exhibits and decoration inside are very attentive. Although there is a fee, it is still worth a visit (there are much fewer people than the Nanjing Museum, which is great).

The Nanjing Six Dynasties Museum is located on the east side of the Nanjing Presidential Palace. It is the most comprehensive site museum in China that provides information about the "Ancient Capital of Six Dynasties" and is also the most systematic special museum reflecting the culture of the Six Dynasties. The museum is beautifully designed, not crowded, far away from the hustle and bustle, quiet and peaceful, and you can take a closer look.

It is large in scale and beautifully designed, and worth a visit. It is right next to the Presidential Palace.

By Rabbit Porridge |

Passing the sea of people in front of the Presidential Palace... the Six Dynasties Museum next door instantly made us feel a lot more "refreshed".

Enter the museum, scan the QR code and follow the official account, you can walk, watch and listen to the explanations on your phone.

In addition, there are special places for stamping inside and outside the exhibition halls on each floor of the Six Dynasties Museum, which are very conspicuous. The materials for the seals are all from the collections in the museum. It is very interesting to find treasures while visiting.

The human-faced tiles, the logo of the Six Dynasties Museum, are hung all over the red wall in the exhibition area on the first floor below ground. The patterns on each tile have different expressions, which are vivid, interesting, strange and changeable, reflecting the various aspects of human life, and are even more shocking against the red wall.

The hall is very simple, with a round hole-designed staircase that is just the right embellishment. Ribbons with the names of the Six Dynasties hang down, and the sunshade skylight makes the hall look bright under natural light.

Light and shadow and small partitions are used everywhere in the exhibition area to highlight the garden style. There are almost no solid walls. Instead, plants such as bamboo and lotus leaves are used as partitions, which is very innovative and creates an effect of changing scenery with every step.

Bonsai, tea sets and light boxes form a beautiful scene of the early morning moon in the sky.

On the third floor, there is an area of outstanding people of the Six Dynasties. As you walk up the stairs, you will see a scene of thousands of arrows being shot at once. In addition to being very grand, the artistic conception also fits the background of the time when heroes emerged in troubled times. It is very cleverly designed.

In general, the Six Dynasties Museum is more elegant and refined than the NMB, but the number and quantity of its collections are somewhat inferior to those of the NMB.

By Danny |

Compared with other popular attractions, the Six Dynasties Museum is deserted, but this also adds a sense of tranquility. The layout of the Bei style is fresh and simple, yet solemn; although there are not many cultural relics, they are enough to give people a glimpse of the whole picture. The Eastern Wu, Eastern Jin, Southern Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen dynasties seem to have no stories, but they are heroes through the ages, and there are many darlings of Chinese and history textbooks: Wang Xizhi, Tao Yuanming, Sun Quan, and Zu Chongzhi. These familiar names can be found here. The following copy of Wang Xizhi's calligraphy (although it was copied by later generations) is very eye-catching. The original works of this calligraphy saint may never appear in the world again, so the copies are particularly rare.

The most surprising museum

I want to bow to the designers and exhibitors

Adding chicken legs is not enough to express their excellence

Really very very good

It's a pity that there are not enough exhibition halls.

Because I just can’t get enough!

If you don't have enough time

If you have to choose between the Presidential Palace and the Six Dynasties Museum

Decisive choice Six Dynasties

Comfortable environment layout

The display design is very beautiful

Very design

Really five-star recommendation

Their tour is guided by WeChat.

In comparison, I prefer the guide.

You can get your stamp inside the museum.

There are several stamped points

It was five o'clock when I went in.

After watching for about 40 minutes, they started to chase people away

If I remember correctly, there are three exhibition halls.

Time is a bit rushed

But it doesn’t affect my love for it at all!

The Six Dynasties Museum is just 200 meters away from the Presidential Palace, but the fate of the two people is different. The Presidential Palace is crowded with people, while the museum is deserted. But fortunately, it is deserted, so you don’t have to queue or crowd, and you can take good photos! (Students do not need to buy tickets and can go in directly, just bring your student ID or student card)

On the morning of October 2, National Day, I was scared by the line of people leaving the Presidential Palace and went straight to the Six Dynasties Museum. After entering the museum, I wanted to find a guide at my own expense. I was told that there were volunteers who gave free explanations. I was happy. The explanations were detailed and humorous. After the explanation, no one said thank you. Fortunately, I was there. Thank you!

After leaving the Presidential Palace, we walked for more than 100 meters to the Six Dynasties Museum, which was the most worthwhile place to visit that day. I bought the ticket online for 26 yuan. My child is 13. I need to pick up the ticket to enter the park. I listened to the guide in the museum for a while, and he spoke very well ~ like a scholar ~

This museum was designed by I.M. Pei's son, Jianzhong Pei, and is very beautiful.

The 16-meter-high hall ceiling, the moon gates on both sides, and the 78 glass windows between the beige stone slabs on the ground floor are like a sky full of stars. Only when you look up from the underground floor can you see the sky full of stars~

Very beautiful ~ the most beautiful museum I have ever seen, maybe I am too short-sighted.

By A chance encounter |

Compared with other museums, it is not very big and not crowded. But the layout is quite exquisite, with good use of bamboo and many screens. It has the artistic conception of Wang Wei's "The Pavilion in the Bamboo Grove". If you stay at Shenghe Mansion, you must buy tickets at the hotel, there is a discount, you can enjoy 15 yuan/person.

Not worth going! We were near the Presidential Palace and saw a queue at the Presidential Palace so we went to the Six Dynasties Museum first. We were so disappointed! There were very few things inside, basically utensils and daily necessities used in the Six Dynasties. There was nothing special! The key is that they charge a fee, a waste of money!

By I don't know anything |

Well, to be honest, I went there for the Bei family. Wow! All the interior decorations are so beautiful that they give me goosebumps! I suggest you go in if you have a chance. But I have to say that I think the collections are so perfunctory. And the "café" and "art gallery" are such a waste of building space...

As soon as I walked in, I was attracted by the ancient style, and I loved the Republic of China style on the basement floor even more. I'll give it 82 likes, and the rest in the form of 666.

The opening hours of Nanjing Six Dynasties Museum are 9:00-18:00, but ticket sales will stop at 17:00.

The ticket price is 30 yuan.

You can download the Nanjing Six Dynasties Museum APP and learn about history while visiting~

I highly recommend everyone to go to this museum. The layout inside the museum is very beautiful~

It was almost 17:00 when I went there, and there were only a few visitors. I felt that the layout of the museum was very quiet and beautiful! The exhibits were also beautiful~

But unfortunately it was about to close soon, so I only visited a small part, which was a bit regretful! But I recommend that you go a little earlier so that you can take your time to visit!

Second visit, although there are fewer cultural relics, the Bei style of the building is a culmination of aesthetics. There are compulsory explanations on weekends, and each person is given a headset, but personal ID is required. (There are many children on weekends, and it is very noisy) The explanations are only on the first and second floors. In short, the museum is beautifully built, with winding water and flowing wine cups, and it is quite elegant in the Southern Dynasties. The only flaw is that there are too few cultural relics, which is a flaw. There are only more than a thousand pieces in total, and the third floor is a photo exhibition.

The Six Dynasties Museum is located on Hanfu Street (No. 302, Changjiang Road) in Xuanwu District. To the west is the Presidential Palace, to the east is Meiyuan New Village, and to the south is the new building of Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum. Nanjing was once the capital of the Six Dynasties (Eastern Wu, Eastern Jin, Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen are collectively known as the "Six Dynasties"). The site of the museum is part of the original Six Dynasties Health City. It opened in 2014. There is one underground floor (the ruins of the ancient city wall) and three floors above ground. There are four exhibition halls: Six Dynasties Imperial Capital, Looking Back at the Six Dynasties, Six Dynasties Style, and Six Dynasties Prodigies. Among the exhibits, porcelain and pottery figurines are the majority, and the tiles are very distinctive. The logo of the museum is a tile pattern. Tickets are 30 yuan.

By Little white tiger teeth |

The words "Six Dynasties Museum" are carved out of Wang Xizhi's original calligraphy. Tickets cost money, but the advantage is that there are obviously fewer people than the free Nanjing Museum. The online reviews of the Six Dynasties Museum are not that high, so the psychological expectations are not high. Instead, it brought me an unexpected surprise. There are free tour guides inside, which is much more exciting than renting a tour guide in the Nanjing Museum and listening to the official explanation like a TV broadcast. After learning more about it, I found that the tour guides are all volunteers. The three who explained to us were actually doctors from the same hospital, which made me admire them very much. Imagine if I lived in Nanjing, I would probably be this volunteer, but it's a pity that I am outside the Great Wall.

I like the design which has some ink painting and is full of oriental charm and philosophy. There are not many people, so you can calm down and have a good visit. There will be staff giving lectures at two o'clock, and you will feel better after listening to the lectures and then visiting.

The overall architecture of the Six Dynasties Museum was designed by Pei Jianzhong, the son of I.M. Pei. The Suzhou Museum was designed by the elder Pei, while the Six Dynasties Museum was designed by the younger Pei under the guidance of his father. Although the exterior of the building is not as colorful as the Suzhou Museum, the interior still shows the Pei-style architectural geometry and light and shadow.

There are no physical partitions inside the exhibition hall. It is divided by the staggered layout of space and the effects of light and shadow. The four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter are presented through different colors and simple scenery, so the exhibition hall itself is a work of art.

There is a pottery figurine from the Eastern Jin Dynasty in the Six Dynasties Museum which became an internet celebrity in the museum because it appeared during the Double Eleven event. The hands and objects in the figurine's hands are carved from wood, but after thousands of years of corrosion, they have not been preserved, and only the pottery body part remains, so it is jokingly called the representative of the shopping world.

I unexpectedly liked it. I originally didn't want to be too tired to arrange the interior structure design of the building. The exhibition layout is also creative.

Works by I.M. Pei and his son. The light and shadow, reality and illusion are handled very well.

This is the most unexpected place in Nanjing!

I wanted to go to the Presidential Palace, but was scared away by the huge crowds, so I went to the Six Dynasties Museum next door!

This is the work of the Bei family. It uses the rhythm of bamboo and light and shadow to make you feel like you are walking in an indoor garden. No one tells you that this is actually a museum!

Compared with the famous Nanjing Museum, the Six Dynasties Museum is more exquisite, more sentimental and more sincere. It does not have the grandeur and solemnity of the Nanjing Museum, but it is as graceful and elegant as a beautiful girl from a small family!

Recommended to watch!

Six Dynasties Museum ¥26/person (student ticket ¥12/person)

The Six Dynasties Museum displays cultural relics from six dynasties from the Eastern Wu to the Chen Dynasty. The number of cultural relics is comparable to that of the Nanjing Museum. It is expected to take 1-2 hours to visit. There are 10 free seals in the museum for visitors to collect. So please prepare a small notebook and go crazy collecting seals!

The most valuable treasure in the museum should be a whole city wall.

The museum is not particularly large, with three floors above ground and one floor underground. Not many people go there, so it's nice to visit it when you have time.

Using curtains and lights to create ink paintings or shadows is a good feature of this museum.

The Six Dynasties Museum is like a private museum, combining the ancient and the present, and the innovative design inside is very attractive. The Six Dynasties Museum is the most comprehensive site museum in China that understands the "Ancient Capital of the Six Dynasties", and it is also the most systematic special museum that reflects the culture of the Six Dynasties. There are also precious human-faced tiles, like a wall.

I especially recommend the Six Dynasties Museum. Wearing headphones and listening to the free audio guide will give you a deeper understanding of the history of Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. There are relatively few tourists here, but the indoor displays are quite thoughtful. I really want to make friends with the designers of this museum.

The six dynasties of Eastern Wu, Eastern Jin, Song, Qi, Liang and Chen are collectively known as the "Six Dynasties". Nanjing was the capital during the Six Dynasties period, so Nanjing is commonly known as the "Ancient Capital of Six Dynasties". It is a good place to learn about Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. The overall design of the museum is full of artistic and historical atmosphere, and it is a typical Pei style beauty. Friends who like the works of Master I.M. Pei should never miss it. The overall design is really great, and it is really a scene at every step, which is particularly shocking. The whole museum is very new, the environment is particularly quiet, and there are not many visitors (the ticket is 30 yuan, there is a discount for placing an order on the app, buy now and enter now). The main reason is that most of the people went to the Presidential Palace not far away. So it is definitely worth a visit for friends who like humanities and arts. The recommendation index is five stars.

The museum is not big, but I like the exhibition hall on the second floor the most. The decoration in the exhibition hall is very full of garden atmosphere.

By Spirit |

This museum is right next to the Presidential Palace. The exhibits are average, but the design and creativity are very good. There are not many people, so it is worth a visit.

Very good, beyond expectations. Dozens of science and technology classes

It is a very beautiful museum. The layout inside is very modern and artistic, which makes people calm down and appreciate it slowly.

About 200 meters east of the Presidential Palace is the Six Dynasties Museum, which has three floors above ground. The ticket price is 30 yuan per ticket, which is exactly 10 yuan per floor. We went there on a weekday, so there were not many tourists. It might be better on holidays. After coming out, I kept thinking about what the positioning of the Six Dynasties Museum is. Is it to supplement and enrich the Nanjing Museum, or to highlight the uniqueness of the underground ruins, or something else...

I came across the Six Dynasties Museum by accident. After visiting the Presidential Palace, I felt suffocated by the crowds. I wanted to have some quiet time, so I went to another attraction in the package, the Six Dynasties Museum. It was a completely unexpected surprise!

Although there are no very precious collections, the scene design is very beautiful and it is really worth seeing!

From the beginning of the 3rd century to the beginning of the 6th century, the six dynasties of Wu, Jin, Song, Qi, Liang and Chen were called the "Six Dynasties". The six dynasties established their capitals in Nanjing, so Nanjing is commonly known as the "Ancient Capital of the Six Dynasties".

It's beautiful. It was designed by Mr. Pei's son. The venue inside is very artistic. You should come and see it after visiting the Presidential Palace.

The exhibits in the museum are not particularly rich, nor are there any particularly outstanding items. But the overall layout and detailed decoration are very amazing, giving people a feeling different from that of ordinary museums as soon as they enter.

The first, second, third floors and the underground exhibition halls each have their own themes, but they are also interrelated and integrated. After a careful look, you will have a comprehensive understanding of the history, culture and social figures of the Six Dynasties.

To be honest, although I am from Nanjing, I have not done in-depth research on the ancient capital of Nanjing in history. I can make up for this lesson here.

I have been there more than once, and I will look for opportunities to go again in the future. After all, the style here is really special, and even if you just sit quietly in a corner, you will feel the inner peace.

By Survivor Grace |

Regardless of whether the cultural relics in the Six Dynasties Museum are precious, its detailed design always feels very charming. I just searched and found out that the museum was designed by Pei Jianzhong, son of the world-renowned architect I.M. Pei, a senior design team of Pei, who systematically applied Pei's architectural modulus, Pei-style architectural geometry, and Pei's architectural light and shadow.

There are not too many visitors. Compared with the bustling Governor's Palace next door, it is much quieter here. You can download an app and listen to the explanation while visiting. It is worth a visit! Recommended.

The museum is not big and the visiting time is about an hour, but I.M. Pei’s design is really amazing, especially Hall B, which makes up for the small regret of not being able to see the Garden Museum in Suzhou.

Definitely must go!!! It's great~ It's my favorite museum in China so far~

By Beyourself |

This is the most unique museum I have ever visited. While the museum's contents are displayed along the timeline of traditional museums, the museum is very humanely designed from the perspective of the audience to display historical materials and cultural relics in a way and order. The architectural structure of the second floor of the museum is very creatively designed to look like a dressing box used by ancient women, and the third floor once again explains the history of the Six Dynasties from the perspective of important figures in the Six Dynasties. In the process of browsing the museum, I can feel the designer's well-intentioned design and the changes that keep pace with the times, rather than simply copying the style of ordinary museums.

By I can't bear it anymore. |

The Six Dynasties Museum mainly displays various exhibitions about the period when Nanjing was the capital of the Six Dynasties. Compared with the Nanjing Museum, which covers the period from prehistoric times to modern times, it is briefer and more thematic.

I have been to Nanjing Museum three times. This time, the purpose of coming to the Six Dynasties Museum was not to study cultural relics. What attracted me more was the words "I.M. Pei's Office". Or simply put, whether the museum is good-looking. Compared with the orthodox Nanjing Museum, the Six Dynasties Museum has more integrated elements, and the overall space layout and atmosphere are very experiential.

Opposite the Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum, it focuses on cultural relics from the Six Dynasties period. It charges a fee and has ruins inside.

There will be volunteers giving explanations from time to time. After entering, it is best to ask at the service desk if there are any more. If there are, the broadcast will notify you to gather on the first floor. When I went there that day, a professor from the school was in charge of the explanation. The explanation on the basement floor and the second floor was one and a half hours in total... The explanation was very detailed... I learned a lot... It is a museum worth visiting...

Highly recommend the museum experience is super good Six Dynasties style

The public account explanation is very substantial

Various small videos are particularly cute

Public services are in place

It is right next to the Presidential Palace. There are fewer people on holidays than the Presidential Palace. As far as museums are concerned, the exhibition is quite attentive. At least it looks beautiful. The three floors outline the ancient style of the Six Dynasties from different perspectives. It won't take too long to visit, about 1 hour at most 2 hours. I personally think it's worth a visit~~~

The ancient capital of the Six Dynasties, 300 Autumns.

Friendly reminder, you can get commemorative stamps in the museum, there are more than a dozen of them.

Everyone remember to bring your own notebook!

I didn't know they had it here, and I didn't bring it with me at all. But it doesn't matter, you can buy it in the mall on the first floor, it's 5 yuan, and it's the size of a palm. It's easy to carry with me, and I'll put my stamps on it during my subsequent trips!

There are 12 chapters in total, distributed on levels 1-3, so don’t miss any!

Stop 84: Presidential Palace and Six Dynasties Museum in Nanjing. AAAA, AAAA, tickets 40, 30, no inspection required. I had to come back to see it after finishing my work at 3:30 pm. The Presidential Palace is of course a must, but the Six Dynasties special exhibition is my favorite. Finally, I had a conversation with the smart robot. It was proficient in everything from name, hobbies, riddles, and dance. Even when I asked it to repeat my Shaanxi dialect "On July 7 this year, a young girl went to the market, passed by a sorghum field, and met a soldier...", it could recite it. I was already amazed at the magic of black technology, but I found out that it was the waiter next to me who eavesdropped on my conversation with the robot, typed out the answer on the computer, and transmitted it to the robot through the wireless network, which disappointed me. The waitress seemed to be extremely embarrassed after being stared at by my sad eyes for a long time.

The architectural design of the Bei Group is well-deserved, and the process is quite good.

By Grand Hyatt Girl |

At certain times, the museum will arrange tour guides to lead tourists in explanations, which I like very much.

By Bubbles |

The design of the museum itself is one of the highlights. After all, the Bei Group is a well-known name.

Some of the items in the museum overlap with those in Nanjing Museum, but the explanations here are more detailed and the exhibition atmosphere is more like a modern art museum. The chairs that can play music are especially worth seeing.

The location is also easy to find, near the Presidential Palace, only a 10-minute walk away.

There are also combined tickets sold here with the Presidential Palace, but the total discount is only 5 yuan. If you buy them separately online, you can save 5 yuan each, so it is recommended to buy the discounted tickets separately online.

The Nanjing Six Dynasties Museum is located in a hotel on the east side of the Presidential Palace. The reason for this location is that it is located on the site of the Jiankang Palace City during the Six Dynasties period (there is a special exhibition on the underground floor). The museum is not rich in exhibits, but its interior design by the son of I.M. Pei is top-notch. Walking in the museum, the unique sound and light effects and exhibition methods will bring the life and elegance of the scholars, nobles and common people of the Six Dynasties directly into our hearts in a subtle way. Therefore, it will be great to experience the museum after understanding the history of the Six Dynasties and being interested in it.
