The Shuangqiao Bridge is composed of Shide Bridge and Yong'an Bridge. It was built in the Ming Dynasty. The two bridges are connected and look like ancient keys, so they are also called Key Bridges.
The special significance here is that the reflection on the lake and the bridge itself form a standard circle, which is very distinctive.
The Twin Bridges best embody the charm of the ancient town. Chen Yifei used the Twin Bridges as the background to create an oil painting titled "Memories of Hometown".
Although there is serious commercial development and a large population here, the flowing water and ancient buildings of Jiangnan are still preserved.

It is one of the symbols of Zhouzhuang. It was first built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It is composed of Shide Bridge and Yong'an Bridge. It has a unique shape and is also known as the "Key Bridge".
The famous American painter Chen Yifei (1946-2005) created the oil painting "Memories of Hometown - Double Bridges" based on this.
I feel that the best angle to see Shuangqiao is at Shuangqiao Hotel opposite the Shuangqiao Bridge.
The Twin Bridges were built in the Ming Dynasty and consist of the Shide Bridge and the Yong'an Bridge. Chen Yifei's painting "Memories of Hometown" depicts this place. It is a must-visit attraction in Zhouzhuang and also the place with the largest flow of people.
I have been to Zhouzhuang twice. The first time was because my idol's MV "The Scenery Is Beautiful Here" was filmed in Zhouzhuang, and I wanted to follow in my idol's footsteps. The second time was also to visit Zhouzhuang again for the sake of memories. The Twin Bridges should be said to be the landmark building of Zhouzhuang. This is the Twin Bridges I took in Zhouzhuang in September 2017.
The performance of Four Seasons Zhouzhuang is good, and the light show is really beautiful. You can only experience it on the spot.
The Twin Bridges are located in the center of Zhouzhuang, and consist of the Shide Bridge and the Yong'an Bridge. The two bridges have one square hole and one round hole, and are commonly known as the Key Bridge. The Twin Bridges were first built during the Wanli period, and have been renovated many times in later generations. There are many tourists here during peak seasons.

The boat-rowing sister introduced the story of Shuangqiao and sang two little songs, which was very pleasant.
Chen Yifei's Shuangqiao is very beautiful. I like traveling and I like living next to scenic spots. When I was in Zhouzhuang, I lived next to Shuangqiao. The beauty of Zhouzhuang is different from other water towns. Later, I went to Tongli and lingered in Xitang, but my favorite is still Zhouzhuang. It is prosperous, lively, secluded and quiet. The Shuangqiao on a moonlit night is secluded, with a quiet reflection on the river; the Shuangqiao in the morning light is cold, with no sound except for the old lady fishing or washing clothes by the river; the Shuangqiao in the daytime is full of people as if telling its glory
It was because of Chen Yifei's painting "Memories of Hometown - Double Bridges" that Zhouzhuang became famous.
Although there is serious commercial development and a lot of people here, the flowing water and ancient buildings of Jiangnan are still preserved.
It is free to enter before 7 am and after 8 pm.
There are many bridges in Zhouzhuang. If you haven’t made a travel guide, you won’t know about this attraction even if you pass by it. However, you must find the right angle to take a photo of this attraction, and you can’t get the feeling you want when there are too many people!
Although there are serious commercial developments and many people here, the flowing water and ancient buildings of Jiangnan are still preserved. However, during holidays, Shuangqiao is often the most crowded place in the ancient town, and every tourist wants to take a photo with this landmark of the ancient town.
Shuangqiao is a very important scenic spot in Zhouzhuang. There are too many people during the day, so it can only be photographed clearly at night.
As the name implies, the Twin Bridges means that you can see another bridge from one of the bridge holes, which is like a bridge within a bridge or a picture within a picture. To see the Twin Bridges, you need to squat down a little bit.
The two bridges are Yong'an Bridge and Shidai Bridge. I happened to hear the tour guide introducing them while resting there. After a closer look, they really look like a key.
Zhouzhuang is famous for its twin bridges and is crowned as the first ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River. Today's Zhouzhuang should thank Chen Yifei. Standing on the twin bridges, looking at the water town in the south of the Yangtze River, the hustle and bustle of the day gradually fades away.
This is the most crowded place among all the scenic spots, and the scenery here is the most beautiful.

The Shuangqiao Bridge, which is famous for the oil painting "Memories of Hometown" by American painter Chen Yifei, is crowded with people and very lively. The celebrity effect really has a far-reaching impact!
Shuangqiao is located in the eastern part of Chaoyang District, Beijing. It is built over a clear river and is surrounded by quaint and distinctive buildings.
Recommended Shuangqiao, take a picture, the weather in March is also very good
The Twin Bridges are the only two bridges connected together, making them unique among the many small bridges in Zhouzhuang Ancient Town. Unfortunately, there were too many people and I was unable to appreciate and take photos properly.

There are too many people, no matter it is day or night, except when it rains. In fact, if you just want to watch, the best observation point is where Chen Yifei is painting opposite.

Tongli, how to say it, is very small, relatively broken, or it can be said that it has preserved its original appearance without repair, and there are more people on holidays. Entering the scenic area, you can see the shop name flags hanging on the trees and fluttering in the wind everywhere, which has a bit of Jianghu atmosphere. There are also people taking photos in ancient costumes everywhere. I basically went to all the places that have tickets, including the Pearl Tower, Retreat and Reflection Garden, Gengle Hall, Wang Shao'ao Memorial Hall, Chongben Hall, Jiayin Hall, and Songshi Wuyuan. I saw various former residences. There are quite a few literati and scholars in Tongli, but I have never heard of them before. In ancient times, there were such grand houses, waterside pavilions, and towers. It must have been a wealthy place. Retreat and Reflection Garden, a world cultural heritage, is a typical Jiangnan garden style. It must be visited when you go to Tongli. Of course, it is too small compared to the four major gardens. I finished the whole tour in three hours in the afternoon. There will always be comparisons when you go to similar ancient towns. Zhouzhuang is much more atmospheric and clean. For ancient towns, it is better to choose Zhouzhuang when you go to Suzhou. Of course, I heard that Xitang is better, but it is in Zhejiang.
The twin bridges are in a cross-shaped state. You can take a full photo at the opposite side, but there are many tourists and everyone is queuing. Usually, people take group photos, which means that in one picture, in addition to the person you want to take a photo of, others also enter the camera.
Shuangqiao, commonly known as the Key Bridge. Shuangqiao does not mean that there are two bridges, but its special meaning is that the reflection of the lake and the bridge itself form a standard circle, which is very unique. It is also associated with Suzhou gardens. When visiting Zhouzhuang, Shuangqiao is a must-see. It consists of a stone arch bridge - Shide Bridge and a stone beam bridge - Yong'an Bridge. The clear Yinzibang and Nanbeishi River meet in the northeast of the town to form a cross, and the stone bridges on the river are built hand in hand, which looks very unique. Because the bridge deck is one horizontal and one vertical, and the bridge hole is one square and one round, it looks very much like the keys used by people in ancient times, so the locals call it the "Key Bridge".
The junction of Nanbeishi River and Yinzibang is the [Shuangqiao].
The stone arch bridge across the Nanbeishi River is called the Shide Bridge, and the stone beam bridge at the entrance of Ginzibang is called the Yong'an Bridge. The two bridges are collectively called the Key Bridge because of their shapes.
The Shuangqiao Bridge became famous both at home and abroad because of Chen Yifei's painting in 1984, and there is an endless stream of tourists lingering and taking pictures here.
As the most famous place in Zhouzhuang, it is easy to imagine that there are a lot of tourists. Just look at the number of tourists on Shide Bridge. The scenery during the day is also average. Currently, the commercial development here is a bit excessive, and restaurants, specialty shops, and bars have opened around it.
The Twin Bridges, also known as the Key Bridge, is a symbol of Zhouzhuang. It consists of a stone arch bridge and a stone beam bridge, and is located in the northeast of the town. The Twin Bridges best embody the charm of the ancient town of Zhouzhuang, with clear waters, green trees, and boats passing through the bridge holes. The small building facing the river has white walls and black tiles, and string music floats out of the half-open windows...
Shuangqiao, December 14, 2014, Suzhou.
It's great to go and have a look. Many bridges are very special.
The twin bridges in Zhouzhuang are also called the Key Bridges. One runs east-west, the other runs north-south. They are built on two intersecting rivers and are very close to each other. Chen Yifei drew a picture of it and recommended it to the world, so that the whole world would know that there is a beautiful Zhouzhuang with twin bridges in China.
After reaching Shuangqiao, we walked to the right and arrived at Wansan Water Wealth Road. There were cruise ships passing by from time to time in the water. The roadside was relatively wide and many willow trees were planted, which could block the sun under the scorching sun and make people feel cool instantly. Walking further, we arrived at the ancient theater, which was free to visit. There were many tables set up by the river under the trees, where people could eat and drink while enjoying the scenery on the water and on both sides of the river, which looked a bit leisurely. Walking further ahead was the exit, so we passed Quangong Bridge to the other side and walked back to visit the streets on the other side. The first half was mainly restaurants, and it must be quite lively at dinner time. It was only 4:30 in the afternoon, so it was still a bit early. Walking further ahead was Yifei's House. In the spring of 1984, Chen Yifei, a famous Shanghai painter living in the United States, came to Zhouzhuang and created an oil painting titled "Memories of Hometown" with Shuangqiao as the background. Later, this painting was exhibited in the Hammer Gallery named after Armand Hammer, chairman of the American Western Petroleum Company, and caused a sensation. The ancient town of Zhouzhuang became famous through the publicity of news media, and Chen Yifei's paintings made the unknown Shuangqiao known to the world.

The Twin Bridges are the core attraction of Zhouzhuang and the subject of Chen Yifei's famous painting. The two bridges of the Twin Bridges are at a 90-degree angle, one is a round arch and the other is a square arch.
Shuangqiao is the best place to embody the charm of the ancient town. Chen Yifei created an oil painting titled "Memories of Hometown" with Shuangqiao as the background. There will be pictures later~ Lin Meizhi couldn't help but buy a maltose. Wandering around, we came to Shen Wansan's water tomb. It is said that Shen Wansan was exiled to Yunnan in his later years and died in a foreign land. The water tomb here is just his cenotaph. Back to Shuangqiao, this time I took a picture of the lower bridge hole. I couldn't take two pictures at the same time, because there were so many tourists! !
See Zhouzhuang in Suzhou, and see Fengqiao in Zhouzhuang

Tour groups and individual tourists almost squeezed the bridge and quickly left; then they came to another quiet bridge. It's better to be in a place with fewer people.
It's very famous, but the scenery is just so-so, and the food in the nearby restaurants is very expensive!
The double bridge is connected by two bridges, which look like ancient keys, and are also called key bridges. The special significance here is that the reflection of the lake and the bridge itself form a standard circle, which is very unique. I was looking forward to seeing the double bridge under the lights at night, but I missed it. Whenever I stand on the bridge or see the crowd on the bridge, I always think of a poem: You stand on the bridge to enjoy the scenery, and the people who enjoy the scenery look at you from upstairs. The bright moon decorates your window, and you decorate other people's dreams.
In front of us is the famous Twin Bridges, where people are already taking photos. After crossing the Twin Bridges, continue along the narrow stone path sandwiched between century-old wooden houses, and you can see only three or two people at the end.

I remember that I went on a business trip to Jiangsu and Zhejiang in early 2010. I took the highway to switch between several cities and passed by Zhouzhuang for a visit.
Zhouzhuang is very famous, especially Shuangqiao and braised pork elbow, which have become its business cards.
But the scenery is nice, a typical Jiangnan town with small rivers, stone bridges, black-sailed boats and Hui-style architecture. But when you are there, you find that it doesn't have the flavor of a Jiangnan water town at all!
Feature 1 is that there are too many people, it’s so crowded that it’s hard to walk and it’s difficult to take a photo.
Characteristic 2 is that the business models are similar. The streets are full of tourist souvenir shops, small restaurants, and homestays, and the environment is very poor.
Characteristic 3 is that the streets are full of this and that braised food, and the air is so greasy that it makes you feel uncomfortable.
Public services are very poor, it is difficult to find a toilet. Due to the current situation, there is no way to develop and improve it.
What impressed me most about Zhouzhuang was Shen Wansan’s pig’s trotters. I haven’t eaten pig’s trotters for several months since I came back. The scenery was not very surprising and was too commercial. . . .
I personally think Zhouzhuang is not as fun as Xitang. Maybe it's because I went there during the day, there was nothing special, there were few shops, and some were small shops selling souvenirs. But staying near Zhouzhuang at night, the night was particularly quiet.
It was rainy season when I went there, and it was cloudy. My mood was as wet as the weather. The price of the B&B during the Qingming Festival was twice as expensive, which was a bit depressing. The scenery was not as good as Tongli. It was average
We went there at the end of March. There was a sycamore tree next to the bridge, which was full of flowers. It was really beautiful with the small bridge and flowing water. It is said to be a double bridge. If you adjust the focal length well, you can take pictures of three bridges.
Many people took photos here. It rained on the first day, and everyone held umbrellas, which felt dangerous. There were not many people early in the morning on the second day. It felt a little more comfortable.
Not as good as expected, a lot of people, just average
It was quite nice when it rained. Accommodation nearby was relatively cheap. The quaint and good accommodation was only about 100 yuan. It just felt small and I didn't take many photos.
Although I have been to Zhouzhuang twice, I just wandered around the water town casually. I didn't go to many places specifically. I didn't go to Shen Wansan's place because I slept late. It feels like an ordinary Jiangnan water town. To me, it has a general appeal. I went there once with a friend and once with my first love. The memories are still good. They were both in the green years when I graduated from high school.

Suzhou is my favorite place. The quietness of small bridges and flowing water here is incomparable to the bustling metropolis. Sometimes I really want to settle here and live a quiet life like this...

Chen Yifei's painting made the unknown Twin Bridges go to the world. The Key Bridge is not a key, but it is better than a key, because it opens the door of friendship between Zhouzhuang and international exchanges.
This is a very unique spot, representing the inherent structure of the Jiangnan water town. Every household has a river at their doorstep, and lives by the river.

It's beautiful! Although it's not as quaint as I imagined! But compared to the city, it's already great!

You want to take pictures of the night scene, the night scene is particularly beautiful, with small bridges and flowing water, quiet and peaceful
It was not far from where we lived. A tour guide passed by when we walked by. It was said that the double bridges formed a key shape at this angle, and it was true if you looked closely.
Because I went there on October 1, Shuangqiao was more crowded than the subway transfer station. There were also many people at night. When it was almost 11 o'clock in the evening, no one came, leaving Zhouzhuang with a quiet

The beautiful scenery of "small bridges, flowing water and people's homes" in the ancient water town is in full view. This is also the best place to take photos. It is best to stay overnight when traveling to Zhouzhuang. When night falls, watching the night view of Shuangqiao is even more special. At this time, the elegant and dim red lanterns are lit in the river sheds on both sides of Shuangqiao, which are reflected by the bright moonlight and the reflection on the river surface, making people intoxicated. The Shuangqiao, which still retains the ancient style, is the symbol of Zhouzhuang and the pride of Zhouzhuang people. Take a picture of the night view of Zhouzhuang, which is very beautiful.

Special Tips
In this way, we arrived at Zhouzhuang Shuangqiao around ten o'clock in the morning and began to roam the ancient town scenery. The typical Jiangnan ancient town architecture has a unique flavor, and the delicious snacks along the way are charming.
Enjoy the sights along the way, buy some if you like them and take them home.
Conclusion:
The scenery of Zhouzhuang Ancient Town is really nice, with bridges, water, pavilions, and cruise ships in the water, forming a beautiful picture that makes people linger. While browsing, you can just eat your favorite delicious snacks as dinner.
At 17:30, we rushed to the station and prepared to return to Shanghai, ending our pleasant one-day trip to Zhouzhuang Ancient Town. Goodbye Zhouzhuang!
Shuangqiao is the key to Zhouzhuang Ancient Town, and it is because of Shuangqiao that it has become known to the world. A square and a round bridge hole, an arch bridge and a straight bridge. I don't know what the craftsmen who built this bridge thought at that time, so ingenious. Shuangqiao is easy to find. It is on the main road of the ancient town. Go down and walk to the left to the ancient stage, where you can go in to listen to Kunqu Opera. Go to the right to see Shen Ting and Zhang Ting, famous houses. If you go forward, there are fewer people. It is the water tomb of Shen Wansan, which should be fake. The best angle for taking pictures is in the front right, so you can take more pictures. If you get there at night, there is a bar under the bridge, where you can take a short break. After 9 o'clock, it's a good feeling to walk to the lake or chat on the bluestone slabs. There are also many inns near Shuangqiao, all of which have the atmosphere of ancient town style. Sleeping by the water is a good choice.
There are two bridges next to each other, one is a stone arch bridge and the other is a stone beam bridge. One runs north-south and the other runs east-west.
The Twin Bridges are very beautiful at night. Since we went there on a weekday, there were very few people there, so we could slowly appreciate the beauty of the Twin Bridges. On weekdays when there are many people, the bridges would be full of people taking photos, and we wouldn’t be able to feel its beauty at all.
