Tianping Mountain in Suzhou City is 201 meters above sea level. It is steep and dangerous. It was called Baiyun Mountain in ancient times and also called Ci Mountain. It is the burial place of the ancestors of Fan Zhongyan, a famous official in the Northern Song Dynasty. Tianping Mountain Scenic Area has been developed in the area. The scenic area covers an area of nearly 100 hectares. It is famous for its "red maple, strange rocks and clear springs". There are 18 scenic spots such as "Wan Hu Chao Tian", "Gao Yi Die Cui", "Wan Zhang Hong Xia", "Yu Quan Qing Yin". It is known as "the first mountain in Wuzhong" and "the scenic spot in Jiangnan", and is one of the four major maple viewing spots in China.

I went to Tianping Mountain on December 10, 2018. Although the best viewing period has passed, I still felt the beauty of Tianping Mountain. Many maple trees in Tianping Mountain have been growing for hundreds of years, with vigorous and mottled branches, and a strong sense of age.

After reading Dianping for two weeks, I finally took action. The popularity of the weekday on November 22 is still so high. Now is the best time to see the colorful maples. It's my first time here. I haven't climbed a mountain for many years and want to try a small hill. The feeling of climbing up 201 meters is like running 800 meters in middle school. People in middle age don't exercise on weekdays. Although there is no beautiful scenery at the top of the mountain, there is still a sense of accomplishment. Many people only go to the maple viewing platform halfway up the mountain. If you want to see the beautiful and picturesque maple scenery, you still have to go down the mountain. It is worthy of being one of the four major maple viewing spots in China. This place is 2 kilometers away from the subway station. When I came here, I saw that people couldn't squeeze into bus 4, so I took a black car and walked to the subway station when I went back. Although it was a bit of a hassle to drive in Shanghai, it is still worth a visit.

Tianping Mountain is located in Mudu, Suzhou. At the foot of the mountain there are many towering ancient maple trees that are four or five hundred years old, as well as many ginkgo trees. Every autumn, this place becomes a place where maple and ginkgo leaves fall in profusion, and the ground is covered with golden color...

By Yaowang |

The ticket is cheap. It is very quiet, and there are not many people on weekends. You can enjoy the street view of Suzhou along the way by bus. The natural scenery is the main thing, full of green, which is pleasing to the eyes. The mountain is not high, and it is not difficult for children to climb to the top by themselves. I had a lot of fun.

If you want to go hiking, you can consider it. If not, don't go. There is nothing inside. You can consider visiting other attractions.

Tianping Mountain is a wonderful place to see red leaves in autumn.

When we went there, the Maple Leaf Festival had just ended a week ago, and I thought we could still see it. Fortunately, it was a sunny day with good air quality, except for the first sub-zero cold wave of the year... It was perfect for sightseeing. We didn't do any homework on the scenic area, and we didn't look at the terrain carefully when we entered the gate. We just picked a road and walked to the foot of the mountain. I don't know where we got the courage, but we decided to climb the mountain. The mountain road is not very steep, but the high and low stone steps are a challenge for us. We basically dare not let go and let the children walk by themselves. We held them for a while and came to the halfway point of the mountain. Looking around at the top of the mountain... Actually, there is nothing. After looking around, I found that the maple leaf viewing is on the other side of the scenic area. In fact, it is only three minutes after entering the gate and turning left and walking on flat ground. We went up the mountain... On the importance of looking at the map before entering the scenic area.

The bright red maple leaves are so beautiful when the sun shines through. They are worth seeing. There are also golden maple leaves, which are also very special. I picked up some beautiful ones with my children and took them home as bookmarks.

Tianping Mountain in autumn is very beautiful, totally worth the price! It's just that there are too many people on weekends. You don't have to climb the mountain when you go to Tianping Mountain. The various red maples at the foot of the mountain are so beautiful

By Sail Shadow |

I took a half-day trip to Tianping Mountain on the weekend. The red maples were in season and there were crowds of people. I took bus No. 4 on the way there, which was terribly crowded. The 315 bus back was ok. It was empty after Mudu, but the scenery was definitely worth seeing.

By CARTON |

It's a nice scenic spot, and it's the end of our Lingtian antenna. The maple leaves on Tianping Mountain in November are gradually turning red, which is very beautiful.

By Stop and Go |

The ticket to Tianping Mountain is 30 yuan, and the maple leaves are very beautiful in autumn.

By Three daughters |

I went there on a weekend in late November four years ago. It was not the best time to see the red leaves. They were not bright enough. I thought I had to wait until mid-December, when the leaves would turn red and yellow. Then there would be a rain and a gust of wind, and they would fall immediately. Cherry blossoms and red leaves are only a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and there are only a few weekends a year. At the foot of the mountain, people picnicked on the ground, took wedding photos, girls, and leaves. After all, it is an annual autumn wonderland and should not be missed. If you take a closer look, you will find that the Tianping Mountain Scenic Area is actually quite large.

By On the Road |

I went there during the Red Leaf Festival at Tianping Mountain. The supporting facilities are very good and the environment is also very good! It is worth a visit.

By Yang Zhaohe |

I can only say it's OK. I went there last year for the maple tree, the one in the yard, and there was no one else.

There is no proper path up and down the mountain, so it is quite difficult to climb.

By Rachel |

It's not autumn when I go, so I can't see the red maples, but if you want to know more about Fan Zhongyan, you can go at any time.

By Jenny |

Tianping Mountain is not far from downtown Suzhou, with convenient transportation and suitable for self-driving tours. Tianping Mountain is also one of the four major maple viewing bases in China. The best time to go there is from mid-to-late November to early December every year. The maple leaves of Tianping Mountain are basically at the foot of the mountain, so you can enjoy the maple leaves at the foot of the mountain and climb the mountain for exercise.

By Don't stir up a hornet's nest |

The mountain is not high, but the old trees form a forest. Standing in the yard, you can remember Mr. Fan's majestic demeanor and calm your mind. It must be beautiful if you come here when the maple leaves turn red.

By Martian User |

Although it was not the red maple season, there were still some leaves left for me. It happened to be a light rainy day, so it was still early and there were not many people in the scenic area. Taking pictures and climbing the mountain was so pleasant!

By Yafu |

Tianping Mountain in late November is worth a visit. The red leaves in the garden are passionate and passionate. It is a scenic spot worth remembering.

By Tall and strong |

Although the best time to appreciate the red maple leaves has passed, the short stretch of maple leaf road is a pleasant surprise.

By Martian User |

It's worth going! The scenery is great and the autumn is beautiful. The red leaves in Tianping are infinitely beautiful. Every year when the maple leaf season comes, it is the end of autumn and the beginning of winter. You can enjoy the red leaves, climb high and see the sunset, which is very happy.

By Sesame |

In November 2014, I took three days off to fly to see the maple trees... The weather was bad, it rained for two days, and it was not as stunning as I imagined.

By Sakura~Maple fox |

In late autumn, at the end of November, the maple leaves turn red, and the forest is dyed with red. The sky is blue, the ground is yellow, the autumn colors are on the waves, and the waves are covered with cold smoke. Take the subway line 1 to the end, get off at Mudu Station, transfer to the bus, and you will reach the scenic spot in a few stops.

By Cape of Good Hope |

Tianping Mountain is also called "Ci Mountain" because Emperor Renzong of the Northern Song Dynasty gave this mountain to Fan Zhongyan in recognition of his achievements, so Tianping Mountain is also called "Ci Mountain"; and there are large areas of red maple trees on Tianping Mountain, which were moved from Fujian by Fan Zhongyan's seventeenth grandson Fan Yunlin, 400 years ago; there are four major places in China to appreciate red maple trees, and Tianping Mountain in Suzhou is one of them; at this time of year, when the red maple trees begin to change color, Tianping Mountain always welcomes countless tourists, and the scenic area is crowded with people, admiring and taking pictures, it is so lively! In recent years, Tianping Mountain has held a maple viewing festival every year, and this year is the 24th, from October 1 to December 10, 2017;

It is truly one of the four major maple viewing areas, and the ancient maple trees in the mountains are very beautiful.

The maple leaves are really beautiful when they turn red. It is a good place for a leisure walk on holidays.

A great place to enjoy maple leaves in late autumn, there is a Red Maple Festival every year that you can’t miss!!!

By Happy Hideaway |

If you want to enjoy the maple leaves, you will regret it if you don’t go to Tianping Mountain; if you have been to Tianping Mountain, you will want to go again next year.

By Redundant |

I went there on November 28th, and the maple leaves 🍁 were not yet all over the mountain. It may be because of my personality. I don't like Suzhou's garden art, but I like natural landscapes such as lakes and mountains. Overall, it's pretty good.

By Betty |

The colorful maple leaves are very beautiful. They are not very red now. There are a lot of people on weekends. The Red Maple Festival in December should be great and there will be more people. The traffic jam in the surrounding area is very serious.

By China-TravelNote users |

A few friends enjoyed the autumn red together, beautiful, but the maple leaves will be more beautiful after waiting for 10 days. The path up the mountain is very steep. I took the children with me and was really scared/tired!

By walkman |

I went there last week. The special features are the combination of autumn leaves, lakes and ancient buildings, and the viewing spots are concentrated, but it is best to avoid visiting on holidays.

By yunzhongyuer |

The entrance to Tianping Mountain has been moved. As people passed by, there were so many people. If you drive by yourself these two days, you will definitely not be able to park. The maple leaves are not yet red, so you may have to wait for a few days. There is a chrysanthemum exhibition, and the chrysanthemums are in full bloom, which is worth seeing.

By Special |

It is worthy of being one of the four major maple viewing spots in China. We were lucky to catch the best season. The color matching of the red and green lights all over the mountains is quite amazing!

By Sybil Porridge |

One of the four legendary maple viewing spots, only a few maple trees turned red in early November, but there were still a lot of people. The best view is the lake and mountain scenery, and there are still more people if you want to climb the mountain. It is said that this is the place where Fan Zhongyan's ancestors lived, and later all of them were given to him. You can see many cultural landscapes commemorating Fan Zhongyan. Overall, the scenery is average, but it is very suitable for hiking and fitness, and a good place to go in autumn.

Tianping Mountain is 201 meters above sea level. It is one of the few hillsides in Suzhou. The scenic spots on the mountain include "Longmen Line Sky", "Flying Stone", "Zhuobi Peak", "Bijia Peak", "Lotus Cave" and other lanterns.

It is quite nice to climb the mountain and have a picnic during holidays. If you have a leisure annual pass, it is free. If you buy a ticket, it is 30 yuan per ticket, which is a reasonable price.

I don't know which WeChat public account I saw this. This is one of the recommended places to see red maples in China. I went there but it wasn't the most beautiful time for red maples. The mountain is also very small. It feels like an undeveloped place. They are so embarrassed to charge admission

We went there to see the maple leaves, and we just happened to know that Tianping Mountain in Suzhou is one of the four major maple viewing spots in China. There is a Red Maple Festival at the end of November every year. It just so happened that our day was the last day of the Suzhou Red Maple Festival. However, Tianping Mountain is still far from the city, and it takes more than an hour to navigate. There are indeed many maple leaves and more tourists, but there is no comfortable feeling of viewing the maple leaves properly. Maybe my expectations are too high.

Tianping Mountain in Suzhou is located about 14 kilometers west of Suzhou city, 221 meters above sea level, and is famous for its strange rocks, clear springs, and red maples. Every autumn, the mountain is covered with layers of red leaves, colorful and spectacular, and is known as "the best red maple in the world", attracting many tourists.

It is very beautiful during the maple viewing season. It is known as one of the three major maple viewing bases, which is indeed good.

By AmySweety |

For us from Wuxi, Suzhou is not far away, and it is even much closer than some scenic spots in Yixing. So when the weather was still good on the weekend, Lao Sun and I drove here by ourselves.

It was smooth all the way to Tianping Mountain, but after arriving at Mudu, all kinds of cars started to squeeze in. It seems that the maple leaf viewing season has been going on recently, so there was a traffic jam 2 kilometers away from Tianping Mountain. There were cars parked on both sides. At 1 kilometer, the police set up a checkpoint and didn't let people in. So it is recommended that if you go there during the maple leaf viewing season, you can park on the roadside if you can, and don't expect to get close. There are tricycles on both sides, and it usually costs 5 yuan per person to take you to Tianping Mountain.

The ticket seller at Tianping Mountain might be too idle at ordinary times. He is still not as good as before when he is busy recently. When it was my turn in the queue, he actually finished chatting with the topic before starting his work. Hehe. 30 yuan per ticket.

To be honest, there are still many scenes to take pictures of, no matter how many people there are, and the effect is pretty good with my camera. So those who bring their cameras won't be disappointed.

As for saying it was just so-so, it was because I went there for the maple leaves, and I can only say that I saw one or two standard red maple trees... I was really speechless...

So if you are here just to take pictures of the scenery, then it is OK, the colors of the trees in the park are still layered. But if you are here for the maple leaves, you will probably be disappointed like me. Instead, you will see more sparkling ones.

I wanted to hike up the mountain, but when I saw the mountain road, I was dumbfounded... I don’t know if I took the wrong road, or if it was originally like this. The mountain road was a standard mountain road, and you had to use your hands and feet together... I thought it was going to be chilly, so I just let it go...

By Fisherman |

The four maple viewing holy places are indeed worthy of their reputation, but it is still a bit late to come. The end of November should be the best season. In addition, it must be sunny and there are few people in the middle of the week to take pictures of the perfect scenery. But it is already beyond imagination. In addition, the maple viewing special line, 5 yuan from the train station directly to Tianping Mountain, saves a lot of troubles of transferring.

By Snow 3 Flying Who |

There were a lot of people. The scenery was nice.

I don't understand those who pick leaves just to take pictures. If everyone is like you, how can the people behind you enjoy the beautiful scenery? You are so selfish!

By Still thinking of my brother |

The most charming season in Tianping Mountain is late autumn, when the maple viewing aesthetic is well worth the trip.

By Blue and White |

I went to Tianping Mountain today. I could only see the maple leaves at the foot of the mountain, but it felt good to climb the mountain.

By jysun08 |

The best season should be from the end of November to the beginning of December. Rainy days and sunny days have their own charms. However, on sunny days, the roads are too crowded and I don't like it.

By Xinyu Shuaiba |

There are too many people in this season. If you want to take pictures of red maples, you may have to wait for a week before they turn red. There are also many people. If you want to take pictures, you need to go early before 6 o'clock. Otherwise, you can only take pictures of small works and the sky, because the ground is full of people.

By Dry Skiing |

"Tianping Red Maple is the best in the world". It is well-deserved. The earliest batch of sweetgum trees are already 400 years old. In recent years, more than 1,000 trees have been planted in the scenic area. There are also ponds. In addition, Fan Zhongyan, a wise prime minister of the Northern Song Dynasty, is in charge of Tianping Mountain. It is a Feng Shui treasure land that other high mountains and famous mountains cannot match.

By WlqZ |

The scenic area is not big, and you can see it all in a short time. Two years ago [12/6/2014] Several people went there together, and took a few photos in a hurry. I will add more later.

By Garden Babies |

When the maple leaves turn red, it will be really beautiful. There are only a few days in a year when it is suitable to go there. I went there last Sunday and it was still quite beautiful. There are red, green and yellow, and it is very beautiful. You can enjoy the beautiful red maple leaves at the foot of the mountain, and you can also climb the mountain to exercise. When they all turn red, it should be very beautiful to look down from the top of the mountain. Last week, it was not obvious enough when I looked down from the top of the mountain.

By Working class |

There weren’t many red leaves on Tianping Mountain at the end of October, and the weather was gloomy that day, so I couldn’t see Taihu Lake from afar. It was almost a wasted trip. . .

But the pictures taken by others are still pretty nice.

Tianping Mountain is famous for its "three wonders": strange rocks, clear springs, and red maples. The mountain is rugged and steep, like the attached hu used by ministers in the feudal era to meet the emperor, and is known as "Wan Hu Chao Tian". There is a bowl spring on the mountainside, also known as Baiyun Spring. The spring water is mellow and sweet. It is said that the tea saint Lu Yu rated it as "the best water in Wuzhong". The ancient maple forest on the southern foot of Shandong was brought back from Fujian by Fan Yunlin, the 17th generation grandson of Fan Zhongyan, a famous minister of the Song Dynasty, during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It was planted in this ancestral land. There are 158 trees in existence. In late autumn, the red leaves on the mountain are like red clouds, layer upon layer, which is a magnificent sight. It is known as "Tianping Red Maple is the best in the world". So far, four Red Maple Festivals have been held, attracting many Chinese and foreign tourists.

By Daily lateness |

Famous places for viewing maple leaves in China. When I came, the maple leaves were almost falling, and they were not all over the mountains like in the Japanese photos. It is more convenient to take a one-day tour from Shanghai. Climbing a small hill is just exercise.

By Ape |

It feels good that there are fewer people during the holidays, but it's a pity that the maple leaves haven't turned red yet

By The Wind in the Quiet Valley |

Tianping Mountain, also known as Baiyun Mountain, is the highest peak among all the mountains in the southwest of Suzhou. During my university vacation, I once visited Lingyan Mountain and became interested in various strange rocks.

On July 21, 2018, I drove to Suzhou to climb Tianping Mountain again. After visiting Tianping Mountain Villa at the foot of the mountain, I went up the mountain from the west side of Baiyun Ancient Temple through the Tianping Road Gate, passing through the rocks, passing Lower Baiyun (Changing Pavilion, Yunquan Jingshe), Yixiantian, Middle Baiyun (Wangfeng Terrace, Huiying Valley, Small Stone House), Erxiantian, Upper Baiyun (Baiyun Cave, Shifo Cave, Yunshang, Wanghu Terrace), all the way to the top of the mountain, overlooking the sunset on the surface of Taihu Lake; then I went down the mountain from the steps on the east side.

The "strange rocks", "ancient maples" and "clear springs" commonly known as the "three wonders" of Tianping Mountain, the red maple leaves cannot be seen at this time of year, and the legendary clear spring is just a relic. However, the jagged granite rocks "Ten Thousand Hus Facing the Sky" have stood on the mountain unchanged for thousands of years, embodying a feeling of returning to nature from ancient times.

I plan to visit Tianping Mountain on a weekday in November when the maple leaves turn red and there are not many tourists.

By Ms_FISH |

Tianping Red Maple is worthy of its reputation. I went there in late November and the maple leaves were already red. It will be more beautiful later~~

By Senziwuzi yellow croaker mulberry |

One of the four major maple viewing spots in China, you can only see the red leaves all over the mountain in late November. Tickets are not expensive, 30 yuan per person. There is a red maple festival every year, so if you go there on weekends, you will see it with everyone! Get off at Mudu subway station, then walk, take a tricycle or call a taxi.

By Sherien |

Key said that if you want to see the maple leaves, you should not go. If you just want to go hiking, it's okay, the scenery is okay.

By The mountains remain |

Tianping Mountain is also located to the west of Suzhou city, with an altitude of more than 200 meters.

In Suzhou, many hikers will take the small path to climb the mountain, all the way to Lingyan Mountain. Of course, there are also tourists who climb from Lingyan Mountain to Tianping Mountain.

By Small zinc |

Tianping Mountain is located 16 kilometers southwest of Suzhou City. It is famous for its "strange rocks, clear springs, and red maples" in the south of the Yangtze River. The ancient maple forest at the foot of the mountain is one of the four major maple viewing bases in China. In addition, there are cultural landscapes such as Fan Zhongyan's Ancestral Hall and Tianping Mountain Villa, which are worth visiting. "A Line of Sky" is the iconic attraction of Tianping Mountain. The path between the boulders can only accommodate one person. In order to accommodate the influx of tourists during the "Red Maple Festival", the management has opened another mountaineering road next to it. Although Tianping Mountain is only 200 meters high, it is so steep that people feel out of breath when climbing up. After resting in the Baiyun Hall halfway up the mountain, most of the elderly do not go up, while the young people are just the opposite. They start to sprint up the Baiyun to the top of the mountain. It is best to go to Tianping Mountain in the clear and crisp autumn weather. The ancient Baiyun Temple is submerged in the green trees, and the maple leaves fall in the Taohua Creek, which is particularly artistic. Looking down at Shijintang, where the red maples are concentrated, is also the most interesting.

Tianping Mountain is not very high, but it is fun to climb because of the steepness of the rocks. It is suitable for children to climb slowly. The top of the mountain is severely damaged and there is no sign of Tianping Mountain. It is good to climb when there are few people.

I went there in December, when the maple leaves had not yet completely fallen and the scenery was still beautiful. I went there just for the maple leaves, so I didn't think there was anything particularly good about the mountain.

The autumn scenery of Tianping Mountain is really beautiful. There is a small temple in the back mountain with beautiful autumn scenery. I didn't go to the lake this time, but I will go there next time if I have the chance.

Every year from the end of September to mid-December is the Suzhou Tianping Mountain Red Maple Festival. It is really nice to choose a day with good weather to climb the mountain and enjoy the red maples...

If you go at the right time, it is really beautiful, with red and yellow ginkgo and maple leaves

Tianping Mountain is known as one of the four major maple viewing spots in China. They are Beijing Xiangshan, Nanjing Qixia Mountain, Suzhou Tianping Mountain, and Changsha Yuelu Mountain. This may be a little exaggerated. I have been to all the places and have seen maple leaves in three of them. They are all landscapes in big cities. They are not very impressive. I guess they are praised by literati. Only in the mountains of the southwest or northeast can you experience the feeling of colorful forests. However, the maple leaves there are still worth seeing, especially on the lake. The colorful maple leaves are a good sight.

It's pretty good. But the maple leaves don't seem to be very many and not very beautiful. The scenery on the mountain is good and there are a lot of people. There are a lot of people on the top of the mountain, haha

A small hill with lush maple leaves in autumn. It takes one or two hours to climb it.

Although I haven't waited until the season when all the red leaves are in full bloom, it's still worth a visit!

You should go in mid-to-late November when the maple leaves are red. It is recommended to go on weekdays when there are fewer people and the maple leaves are very beautiful with a variety of colors.
