We had to find the way outside, but after trying several times, we still couldn't get in. We waited for a long time at the bus station. The waiting time always seemed so long. Finally, when it was time to get off work, we only spent 20 minutes to visit the whole Tongli....Oh my god! It's so small! This is the least worthwhile 100 yuan ticket.

Tongli still has a stage facing the street, which is indeed a good way to quickly bring the ancient town into an ancient state. Although I don’t understand what the other party is singing, it is still interesting to listen to the first part along with the humming.

The ticket can be used to visit the small attractions inside. These small attractions are small gardens and private houses. If you have just finished visiting Suzhou Gardens, it is recommended that you do not visit these small attractions (you will easily get aesthetic fatigue if you see them too much) and there is no need to buy tickets.

Like many ancient towns in China, there is no ticket checking when entering or leaving the gate in the morning or evening.

So if you don’t want to buy tickets, just choose to enter and exit in the morning or evening.

There is public transportation from Suzhou to Tongli (subway + bus). You can navigate the specific route yourself.



There are three night views in Tongli:

There is a garden show in Tuisi Garden that uses MR virtual reality, 3D dynamic effects, etc. It charges a fee, but I didn't go.

The second is the night view of the ancient town centered on the Three Bridges. There will be spray from time to time at night. My personal feeling is just average, and the spray does not add color to the night view.

Since we are in Suzhou, it seems unreasonable not to visit the ancient towns. The surrounding ancient towns include Luzhi, Zhouzhuang, Tongli, etc. Finally, we chose Tongli. It cost 82 yuan to take a taxi from Suzhou Gusu District, and it took more than 30 minutes to reach Tongli Ancient Town.

The ancient town was supposed to receive 90,000 visitors a day, but when we arrived, there were less than 1,000 people. This damn epidemic has dealt a heavy blow to the tourism industry that cannot be measured in words.

The shops in the ancient town are all open, but most of them are deserted because there are few customers. It's a pity for the bluestone road and the beautiful scenery of the small bridge and flowing water, but having said that, the experience of the scenic spot without people is really much better! !

How could such a thing happen in Tongli Scenic Area? Tourists are reminded that if they drive to Huanhu Road to eat, especially to the Daxiangying Kelai'an Private Kitchen restaurant opened by barbarians, they should be especially careful. If you park your car in a public parking lot, you may be smashed and beaten. I called the police for this matter, and the police took the restaurant owner to the police station and he was said to have stayed there for 8 hours.

Although Tongli is small, its winding streets and paths are full of the tranquility of a water town. Its natural, simple, and humanistic beauty, as well as its exquisiteness that comes from the accumulation of history, make you unable to refuse to get close to it.

I went to Tongli Ancient Town at night, and there were few people. After 5:30 pm, it was free to enter. Before 5:30 pm, there was an entrance fee.

Take Metro Line 4 directly from the train station to Tongli, and then take a taxi to Tongli Ancient Town, which costs 13 yuan. The ticket is 100 yuan and is enough for two days. When buying the ticket, tell the ticket seller that you will stay for one night and take a handprint, and then show him the tickets for the attractions inside.

Tongli Ancient Town is more than 30 kilometers away from Suzhou City. It takes only one hour to get there by car from the North Square of Suzhou Station. Now it is more convenient with the subway. At that time, the ticket price was 100 yuan per person, including more than a dozen gardens such as Tuisi Garden, Chen Qubing's Former Residence, Jiayin Hall, Chongben Hall, Pearl Tower, Gengle Hall, Shao'ao's Former Residence, Songshi Wuyuan, etc., and you can also take a boat to Luoxingzhou; each time you go to a scenic spot, a hole is punched on the ticket, so you can't enter repeatedly. A ticket can be used for a maximum of 2 days. The guide says that you need to take the accommodation certificate to the ticket center or the Tuisi Garden Visitor Distribution Center for stamping, but in fact you don't have to do this. All attractions in the ancient town will close before 17:15 and will not be open at night. The advantage of taking the bus from the North Square Bus Station is that the North Square Station has the highest departure frequency, with a bus every 15 minutes, and you can buy a combined ticket that includes the Tongli ticket and the bus ticket here, the fare is 80 yuan per person, minus the 8 yuan per person bus ticket, the Tongli ticket is 72 yuan per person, which is 4 yuan cheaper than the discounted ticket online, so there is no need to book online.

Tongli Ancient Town is surrounded by five lakes and is a veritable Jiangnan water town. It is a pleasure to stay in the town for a night, watch the night view of the water town, enjoy the morning of the water town, and experience a classical homestay.

In fact, every water town has its own unique features. Tongli is more lively than Wuzhen, which is a textbook scenic spot. Tongli is not big. If you get up early, you can visit it in 5 hours. So you don't need to make a plan or rush. You can visit it slowly, play slowly, enjoy slowly, and kill time slowly. There are surprises everywhere. The mottled old walls, the deep ancient alleys, the lush trees, the people and things in life are all worth recording.

Jiangnan Water Village has a river in every ancient town, winding through it like a ribbon that leads you from beginning to end. Like many other ancient towns, Tongli also has a river, and there are boats on the river, and there are naturally many tourists on the boats. Sitting by the river, you can see a boat of foreigners singing the English version of "The Moon Represents My Heart" and passing through the bridge. For an ancient town not to be labeled as commercial, the most important thing is that there are real people in the town. The old walls that should be very old are given new vitality by climbing plants, and those clothes hanging to dry are life.

Tongli Ancient Town is my least favorite ancient town. I feel that it has lost the charm of an ancient town. It feels more like a tourist attraction. Looking at the overall shape of the ancient town, it is a bit too commercial. Anyway, it feels too ordinary. The overall style of the ancient town is to visit the houses of wealthy families in the past.

According to the landlord's recommendation, the scenery in Tongli is only slightly worse than that in Zhouzhuang, so we decided to come to Tongli to experience the scenery of the ancient town.

Tongli is the most convenient place for transportation among the surrounding ancient towns. You can take the subway to Tongli Station, and you can take a taxi to the ancient town after getting off the subway. Like gardens, there are many ancient towns of all sizes in Suzhou. If you don't have enough time, you can just choose one to experience. If you really don't have time, you can just visit Pingjiang Road. Because I personally feel that the scenery of the ancient town is similar to that of Pingjiang Road. When visiting Tongli, I deliberately chose some places with not too many people. Although some places are very simple, it is a good experience to feel the life of the Jiangnan water town more realistically. It is especially comfortable to listen to the conversations between locals. In addition, there are some places in Tongli that charge fees, and you can buy joint tickets. But when I went there, it was almost closed, so I didn't buy a ticket, but just visited some places that didn't cost money, and I think this is enough.

When you arrive in Tongli, the first thing you see is a towering imitation Ming Dynasty archway, standing in the midday sun, shining brightly. On the plaque, the eye-catching and dazzling characters "China's Famous Historical and Cultural Town" were written by Mr. Fei Xiaotong. I stayed in Tongli for two days and one night. I stayed in the inn in the ancient town. It was a very good experience. It was like an environment away from the world. It was beautiful and comfortable.

Because it was raining, there was no one at the gate to collect tickets. Usually, it seems that no tickets are collected after 17:00. The misty Jiangnan has a special flavor in the misty drizzle.

This water town is known as the Venice of the East and is one of the six ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River. The waterside is full of places to eat at night, and there is a Tuisi Garden, which is quite nice.

When I stayed at Tongli Lake Resort, I visited Tongli Ancient Town. The original flavor of the ancient town is still preserved. Compared with other famous ancient towns, it lacks highlights and fame. The business atmosphere is okay. Overall, it is relatively comfortable. The consumption level is not high. I recommend Hongyunlou for a meal. It is more authentic Jiangsu Taihu Three Whites.

Tongli covers an area of ​​33 hectares, surrounded by five lakes, connected by 49 bridges, and a network of rivers that divide the town into seven islands. There are several gardens in Tongli Ancient Town, each with its own characteristics. They are very beautiful and also suitable for taking pictures.

Following the attractions and road signs on the ticket, we admired the gardens one by one and strolled through the ancient town. Although it was a bit commercialized, it still felt good.

The scenery of the garden may not have the historical stories like the Lion Grove, but the scenery is just as beautiful.

There are all kinds of beautiful little details in the garden, such as the gourd-shaped window, which shines golden in the setting sun, like a real gourd.

For example, the vase-shaped doorways, one inside the other, are very cute.

I came here from downtown Suzhou and stayed overnight. Maybe it was winter, there were fewer people and it was relatively quiet. On the way to the B&B, he introduced us to the origin of the name of the ancient town and the precautions for visiting attractions. Passing through the Ming and Qing shopping streets, we came to the place where we stayed this time, Yueju Wenlv Meisu. The B&B has a sense of design and a large space. The housekeeper told us that all the furniture is made of logs. Because we arrived early, the housekeeper also prepared breakfast for us. After packing up, we went directly into the ancient town. There were not many people in the ancient town in the early morning. Some local residents were washing clothes by the river, and the scenery of the ancient town was original. We walked around the ancient town and ate the specialties of the ancient town, the socks and the champion's hoof. The socks we went to was also recommended to us by the housekeeper of Yueju Wenlv. It is said that the socks in the town are all purchased from them, and the shape is really like the bottom of the socks. After walking around the ancient town for a while, more people began to appear. We were tired of walking around, so we found Cheng'entang Private Restaurant. We heard from the housekeeper of Yueju that their No. 1 pig's hoof was famous, so we went to try it. I don't know if it's because I'm from the north. Although the pig's hoof is delicious, it's a bit sweet for me. After dinner, we went to some famous attractions such as Tuisi Garden, Gengle Hall, and Sanqiao. The garden architecture in Suzhou is very special and has a lot of charm. We were tired of walking around and it was a little late. We took a boat trip on the river and then returned to Yueju Cultural Hotel. The housekeeper also prepared sweet soup and brought it to our room. The distant singing of folk singers came from the other side of the river, like a beautiful dream! I think Tongli is a beautiful dream belonging to Jiangnan! It is still peaceful, beautiful, and pristine here. The aborigines live a small life here and live forever. I like it here very much.

There are many streets, lanes and bridges in the ancient town, which you can stroll slowly. It is one of the six major water towns in the south of the Yangtze River. It is slightly larger than Wuzhen, but not as well developed as Wuzhen. It is more beautiful! It is still suitable for a leisurely tour for one or two days.

Take Metro Line 4 to the end of Tongli. Turn left when you exit the station. Parking is 1 yuan. Take bus No. 725 for 5 stops and walk 150 meters back. Turn right at KFC. It is convenient and saves time and money.

The ancient town has been developed and no longer looks like an ancient town. In particular, the homestays that have sprung up in recent years have almost ruined all the scenic spots, and Tongli is no exception. It was originally small and gradually lost its characteristics.
