Liyuan is an old park in Wuxi, famous for its waterscape and Jiangnan garden style.
According to legend, Fan Li and Xi Shi retired to Taihu Lake during the Spring and Autumn Period. Most of the buildings in the park are themed after Fan Li and Xi Shi, with exquisite scenery. You can also come here to enjoy the flowers in spring and summer.
There are many scenic spots in Liyuan Scenic Area, such as Four Seasons Pavilion, Xishi Manor, Tao Zhu Mansion, Thousand-Step Corridor, and Spring and Autumn Pavilion, which are very interesting to visit.
·In the east of Li Garden, there is the Ferris wheel of Lihu Park. With Li Garden as the foreground and the Ferris wheel as the background, the photos taken are very artistic.

As a foreigner visiting Wuxi, Liyuan is still worth a visit... There are many flowers by the lake, but it can't be compared with Yuantouzhu. There is no need to go to the island where you take a boat, it's a waste of money and time (one boat every hour), the show is not good, the whole island can be visited in 10 minutes at most... There are many tour groups and many elderly people... I don't know how to get to the Ferris wheel, and it seems that I never saw it running...
Go early, as all kinds of tour groups start after 9 o'clock. The park is not big, but the environment is nice. It's the peach blossom season, and there are all kinds of people in all kinds of postures, which is unbearable to look at. It's better to walk around by yourself. An aunt asked me to help find an angle to take a photo. I found a relatively low angle to meet her expectations. As a result, the aunt lay on the ground for more than half an hour and didn't get up. She kept taking photos... In short, it's worth the ticket price. You must check in when you come to Wuxi.
Located on the shore of the beautiful Li Lake in Wuxi City, it is one of the main attractions of the national key scenic spot "Taihu Lake". It covers an area of 123 acres, of which the water area is about two-fifths, and is known for its waterscape. Li Lake, formerly known as Qi Lake and Wuli Lake, is said to have been boated here by Fan Li, a doctor of the Yue State, and the beauty Xi Shi in the Spring and Autumn Period. The lake was named after the man, and the garden was named after the lake. From 1927 to 1936, Wang Yuqing and his son, fellow villagers, built Li Garden with the help of Yu using the original foundation. Li Garden is surrounded by water on three sides. You can see the endless green peaks in the distance and hear the long waves hitting the shore nearby; the south embankment is red with peach blossoms and green willows in the spring morning; the long corridor along the water changes with every step; the rockery is towering and green, winding and circling; the pavilions and towers are layered with waves.
There is a peach blossom garden in Liyuan, but it is not in bloom. I will come again if I have the chance. Liyuan is the most representative of Jiangnan gardens in Wuxi. It is surrounded by water on three sides, and the reflections of small bridges and pavilions are quite beautiful. The Thousand-Step Corridor is especially interesting. The pictures on each window lattice are different. Whether you walk east or west, passing through the stone corridor, your sight will immediately open up and you will find a different world.
This place is one of the four more famous scenic spots in Wuxi: Yuantouzhu/Meiyuan/Liyuan/Xihui Park. It is said that this is where Xishi and Fan Li lived in seclusion... Yutong still admires Fan Li in terms of talent... But emotionally... that's not the case... But living in seclusion after the great love of the nation is still a very happy ending. It is said that this place was built because Fan Li lived in seclusion here with Xishi, and later it was built to commemorate them. The story of Xishi washing silk also gave rise to a washing silk stream here... It is still very exquisite. Later, Liyuan was expanded and connected with Yuzhuang to form Liyuan

In the early years of the Republic of China, Yu Xunzhen, a Qingqi villager, built the Eight Scenic Spots of Qingqi by the lake, which was known as the "area of beautiful mountains and clear waters". From 1927 to 1936, Wang Yuqing and his son, fellow villagers, built Liyuan with the help of Yu using the original foundation; in 1930, Wang's relative Chen Meifang built "Yuzhuang" on its west side, also known as "Sai Liyuan". After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Liyuan Corridor was expanded in 1952 and connected to the fishing village; the "Layered Waves and Shadows" new area was built around 1980. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a key cultural relic protection unit in Jiangsu Province.
As soon as I entered the garden, I met a young lady in ancient costume, which contrasted nicely with the elegance of the entire garden. This is also my favorite.
The National Day holiday happened to coincide with the Sunflower Festival, and the large fields of small sunflowers were so beautiful in the bright sunshine.
Liyuan has beautiful scenery and typical features of Jiangnan gardens, with winding banks along the water and dotted with pavilions, terraces and rockery in an orderly manner.
In the east of Liyuan is the Lihu Park Ferris Wheel.
Li Garden is not big, and is somewhat similar to the gardens of Suzhou, and is quite interesting.

Remember to buy tickets online one day in advance, it's much cheaper. Otherwise it's not worth the price. It's just a park, and the blooming season is over. Only Lihu Lake is worth seeing, and the big Ferris wheel feels very western.
Although Liyuan is small, it is still a place worth visiting for leisure. I did not take a cruise this time.
Traveling in Li Garden in the rain, the drizzle is as fine as silk, and the scene before my eyes is clear and green. I recall Fan Li and Xi Shi, and think of the Wu and Yue Spring and Autumn Period.
The garden by Taihu Lake has a lake, a bridge, an island, and fields of sunflowers. It feels great!
The place where Fan Li and Xi Shi visited the garden, a check-in spot, you can take a look when you come
Liyuan is one of the must-see attractions in Wuxi. It has beautiful scenery, with mountains and water.
70 tickets, a lot of people, very photogenic. The cherry blossoms have faded, this unmissable attraction turned out to be the best of this trip 😂
The tea flowers are in full bloom in the spring, enjoy the beautiful spring scenery🌸🌸
Lihu Lake is a small bay in the northeast of Taihu Lake. Liyuan is a park deep in Lihu Lake. It is the place where Fan Li took Xi Shi on a boat trip on West Lake. There are many flowers planted in the park, and many people come to enjoy the flowers during the flowering season. This park is not far from Yuantouzhu, so you can have fun together.
This is a small but exquisite Jiangnan garden. Spring and autumn are the best time to visit. Appreciating Taihu Lake and the garden is a must-see attraction in Wuxi.
The drizzle was a little disappointing. In the drizzle, there were few people and the scenery was different. With every step, you will see a different scene, and you will be impressed by the exquisite design of ancient Chinese gardens. The scenery in Li Garden is very unique, and there are many small scenes worth careful consideration and appreciation. You can see Taihu Lake.
It is said that this is where Fan Li and Xi Shi lived and went boating here. In early October, the whole garden is filled with the fragrance of sweet osmanthus, which is a beautiful place.
The scenery is nice, and you can take a boat to Xishi Manor to watch Xishi's performance, but the performance is just average, just dancing.
There is a parking lot at the entrance of Liyuan, but it is relatively small. When I went there, it was full. A large one was built opposite the park, which costs 10 yuan per car. Liyuan should be the main attraction of lotus leaves and lotus flowers, as if you have come to Daming Lake.
The lotus leaves in the pots actually produced lotus seeds. I wonder if there were lotus roots underneath. The sky was a little gloomy at the time, and there was a feeling of a crisp autumn day, but it was actually quite hot.
After about a quarter of an hour of sailing, the boat docked on a small island in the lake. Here you can play in the water and enjoy the scenery. Zhanyuan is really a rare parent-child paradise!
Liyuan, located on the shore of Lihu Lake, is named after the lake. It is a 4A scenic spot. From May 28 to July 6, it is the off-season for Wuxi tourism. The ticket price is 30 yuan. Entering Liyuan, passing the lobby, turn right and not far away is the Xishi Legend Gallery, which is engraved with Xishi's anecdotes, praising her integrity of enduring humiliation and serving the country with her life. The scenery in the garden is charming, showing the style of Jiangnan gardens. It is close to Lihu Lake and has a bit more grandeur than ordinary gardens. Strolling along the Thousand-Step Corridor, you can see pavilions, towers, mountains and rivers, bridges and corridors. Because of the rising water after rain, some towers are submerged in water and can only be viewed from a distance, which adds a bit of interest. Other scenic spots in the garden often see traces of Xishi or Fan Li. History evaluates Fan Li as "loyal to the country; wise to protect himself; business to make a fortune and become famous all over the world." However, I cannot agree with him, saying that he was "loyal to his country". Fan Li was originally from Chu, but later he defected to Yue State and assisted Gou Jian. He did not commit suicide by jumping into the river like Qu Yuan. How could he be said to be loyal to his country? His greatest political achievement was to assist Yue State in destroying Wu State, which was also based on sacrificing the beauty of women such as Xi Shi. In a war between men, if you cannot defeat the enemy in an upright manner, but rely on using women's bodies to confuse the enemy, it is shameful even if you win. Therefore, I believe that he is the same as Wang Yun in the Three Kingdoms period, a political speculator.
Liyuan has beautiful scenery and typical Jiangnan garden features, with curved banks and pavilions and rockeries dotted around. Various flowers are planted in the garden, with hundreds of peach trees being the most abundant. Every March and April, the garden is in full bloom, and a special peach blossom tourism festival is held here. I was lucky to catch the peach blossoms this time.
Next to the gate of Liyuan is the entrance to the fishing village. Since Liyuan and the fishing village are connected, this time I chose to enter from the fishing village and tour the garden in a clockwise order.
As soon as you enter the fishing village, you will see the spring scenery in the garden. Various flowers are blooming in the bushes, beside the stream, and beside the pavilion. They are colorful and lively. You will reach the Willow Shade Pavilion. There is an inner lake next to the pavilion. There is a small island in the lake. On the island, Xi Shi is carrying a basket of clothes and preparing to wash them by the water. The Xi Shi Silk Statue depicts Xi Shi's graceful and elegant manners vividly, which is impressive. After passing the Willow Shade Pavilion, you will continue to visit. After passing the Yingyue Bridge and the rockery group, the view suddenly becomes clear because you have arrived at the Li Lake. Li Lake is much larger than you imagined. The lake embankment is full of peach trees and willow trees. It is the time when peaches are red and willows are green, attracting countless tourists to stop and admire. The weeping willows on the lake embankment have just sprouted, and the tender green willow branches are swaying in the wind.
There is a small island in the inner lake across the lake embankment, which is connected to the land by a small stone bridge.
The Lotus Festival begins in June, and it is a highly recommended place.
Li Garden became the most unexpected attraction in this trip. Li Garden is not big, and it can't be compared with Suzhou Gardens, but it is very nice to visit. It happened to rain when I went there, so I wandered around aimlessly. When it rained heavily, I wandered in the Thousand Steps Corridor, and when it rained lightly, I walked along the paths and bridges. It was so comfortable. The rain did not affect my mood for visiting. Instead, I felt that the lotus leaves in the rain were so cute, and the water drops slid down and splashed one by one, so cute~
A small and exquisite southern garden, affordable, beautiful scenery, spring, flowers bloom, really beautiful
It was probably a long time ago. When I recall Wuxi and myself at that time, everything seems so fresh.
Liyuan is also a place I am very interested in every time I go to Wuxi. It can reflect the leisurely garden scenery beside Taihu Lake. Especially when there are few people, the leisurely feeling is particularly suitable for lovers to travel with a relatively loose itinerary.
After entering through a small door, the garden still maintains its template. After reaching the end of the road, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Once you enter, you will enter a corridor with several narrative paintings on it, all of which tell stories related to Xi Shi and Fan Li. If you don't know about this, you can go and have a look. Liyuan is surrounded by Li Lake. The entire park is in the shape of a Chinese character "回", similar to a large circle and a small circle. The small circle is mainly for flower viewing, and the large circle is mainly for viewing the scenery of Li Lake. As a Jiangnan garden, of course, rockery is indispensable. There is a group of rockery and a stone boat beside the Huansha Creek. It is like a miniature landscape painting. There is a statue of Xi Shi in the middle of Huanxisha. Going forward, you will enter a high-rise building. You can go up to the high-rise building, but when I went there, a group happened to go in, so I gave up decisively. There are many cormorants in the lake below the building, which are water birds that appear frequently in Guilin and are used by fishermen to help catch fish. 3 or 4 of them just stood stupidly on the bow, as if they were not as smart as imagined.
Very nice garden. On April 30, the weather was good. Many pink roses and white tea flowers were blooming near the water. Lupine and other flowers were also beautiful. The rockery was also very good. It was a good place.
Walking in a beautiful ink painting, the beauty of Liyuan in March will blow your eyes away.
I highly recommend it, especially for those who want to take pictures of the scenery. You must go there in the right season (around Qingming Festival). I didn't want to go to Liyuan at first, but I was really shocked when I went in. Because it was the flowering season, the scenery was really beautiful, which was completely beyond my expectations. I suggest going there in the morning when there will be few people.
It was around 2pm when we entered the garden. The trees were full of peach blossoms, pink, red, pink and white, and some azaleas were in bud (I downloaded the Xingse app in advance to help me identify flowers and plants). Combined with the unique garden scenery in the south of the Yangtze River, it was a feast for the eyes.
It's not too big, there are a lot of peach blossoms, and many people are taking pictures with the flowers. There is a Ferris wheel in this garden, but I don't know how to get there, so I just looked at it from a distance. There is also a small lake in this garden, which is also very beautiful. There is a Liyuan pastry, and many people line up. It's delicious. I also tried the Xishi tofu pudding, which is different from the salty tofu pudding in the north.
The main attraction in Liyuan is peach blossoms. Although not all the peach blossoms are in full bloom, there are quite a few of them. Willows are swaying in the wind, and peach blossoms are interspersed. There is also the Xishi boat. I found that almost every scenic spot in Wuxi has a cruise ship, and they are all similar.
After visiting Suzhou Gardens the year before last and Yangzhou Gardens last year, today I visited Wuxi Gardens represented by Jichang Garden. Liyuan Garden is located on the shore of the vast Taihu Lake. It is not only beautiful and charming, but also has rugged mountains and winding paths. It is worthy of being the best place in Taihu Lake!
Liyuan is a park by the Taihu Lake. It is very large and well built. Walking here reminded me of the sadness of Du Liniang's visit to the garden in "The Peony Pavilion". I suddenly wanted to write a poem for her love with Liu Mengmei.
The most beautiful is the garden in spring, with pink peach blossoms, green smoke, and clear water...
Liyuan Garden is my favorite place in this trip to Wuxi. Not only is the ticket price affordable, but the scenery is also great, with green trees, blooming flowers, pavilions and waterside terraces. In addition, the weather was very good that day, and I felt very happy.

On the shore of Taihu Lake, the scenery is beautiful. There are not many tourists. It is very pleasant.
Formerly known as Wuli Lake, it is an inner lake in the northeast of Taihu Lake. According to legend, Fan Li and Xi Shi retired to Taihu Lake in the Spring and Autumn Period and went boating here, hence the names of Li Lake and Li Garden. Li Garden, which extends into Li Lake, is an old park in Wuxi. It has a Jiangnan garden style and is known for its waterscape. In March and April, peach blossoms are in full bloom, and from June to September, lotus flowers are in full bloom, just like a water garden.
Liyuan is located on the shore of Lihu Lake in Wuxi. According to legend, Fan Li and Xi Shi once went boating here, so the lake was named after the person, and the garden was named after the lake. Without going into the details of history, such legends always make this place more romantic.
As you step into the winding paths of Liyuan, you will see spring scenery everywhere, with new buds sprouting green, clusters of flowers in all colors, and ripples on Li Lake when the wind blows. The spring scenery is always joyful, saying goodbye to the harsh winter, and everything is thriving.
During the Spring Festival, it rained again, there were few tourists, and the scenery was average. Children like the rockery group more, climbing through the holes. You can hide from the rain in the corridor.
Highly recommend, Wuxi is a great place ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)✧
There were few people before 10 o'clock, and the place was almost reserved. After 10 o'clock, tour groups came one after another. The Liyuan Garden in the heavy snow has a unique flavor
Liyuan is located on the bank of Lihu Lake in Wuxi, which is a corner of Taihu Lake and is of moderate size. In fact, if you really face the vast sea or the big lake, where the sky and water are connected and there is nothing else, it is easy to form aesthetic fatigue. That is why it is said that "Lihu Lake is of moderate size". Today's Liyuan is a garden that covers more than 100 acres after several private gardens built on the bank of Lihu Lake were nationalized and integrated. It has pavilions, towers, lakes and mountains, and is a rare waterside garden in the south of the Yangtze River.
It is a bridge connecting the original Liyuan and Yuzhuang. The door of Liyuan is the entrance, and the door of Yuzhuang is the exit.
It is the retreat of Fan Li and Xi Shi. It is a very beautiful and large garden with pavilions, long corridors, real water and rockery, and rich green plants. It is recommended to learn more about the garden before going. There is no explanation in Li Garden, so you can only learn about it yourself or take a tour guide. The 40 yuan ticket is absolutely worth the money. It is a must-see attraction in Wuxi.
A large garden with typical Jiangnan water village characteristics
Liyuan is very big, and I only walked through a part of it. I haven’t finished the kilometer-long corridor yet.
The famous scenic spot beside Taihu Lake has scenery, lake and stories. A history that has been passed down for more than 2,000 years is still silently telling the story. Have you heard it?
It's worth going, a must. It's quite good. In short, I recommend you to go and see it. Two hours is enough.
Liyuan has both small pavilions and terraces as well as distant lake and mountain scenery, perfectly displaying the classic Jiangnan scenery and is worth a visit.
The hotel gave me a ticket and I visited for free. I wanted to give up because of the heavy rain, but the clerk said the peach blossoms were beautiful, so I decided to go and see them. It was unexpectedly beautiful, and I personally felt that it was better than the cherry blossoms I saw in Yuantouzhu later.
As a Jiangnan garden, Liyuan Garden is as good as Suzhou's Humble Administrator's Garden in design, with a new scene at every step. In terms of humanities, the historical allusions of Fan Li and Xi Shi are fascinating. In addition, the beautiful scenery of Taihu Lake and Lihu Lake is also rare. In addition, there is a Ferris Wheel Amusement Park next to it, and the night view is also super beautiful. Lihu Lake has pleasant scenery all year round, with peach blossoms in early April, sunflowers in May, and lotus flowers in July... It is definitely worth a visit
From the Plum Garden, there is a bus to the Li Garden. According to legend, in the Spring and Autumn Period, Fan Li, a doctor of the State of Yue, and his beauty Xi Shi went boating here. The lake was named after the man, and the garden was named after the lake. Probably because it is winter, there are few tourists. Probably in summer, there will be many people. It is a good place to cool off and enjoy the lotus.
Li Lake: This is where Fan Li of Yue State assisted King Gou Jian of Yue in defeating the State of Wu. After his success, he retired and went boating with Xi Shi in Li Lake. This bridge is really poetic. The view from the bridge is also a vast and boundless scenery. Li Lake is an inner lake in Wuxi. Looking at this scene, I have to say that Fan Li is really romantic~

The contemporary great writer Guo Moruo has a beautiful sentence: "If you want to know the fun of Liyuan, ask the young man on the cliff." Moreover, the rockery in Liyuan is stacked on the water and alive because of the water, showing the infinite interest of "rockery and real water" where mountains and water blend.
Liyuan, according to legend, was a place where Fan Li and Xi Shi lived in seclusion during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period more than 2,400 years ago. They went boating on Wuli Lake, hence the name Lihu. Liyuan got its name because it is located on the shore of Lihu Lake. There are many place names in Wuxi related to Fan Li, such as Lihu Lake, Liqiao, Liyuan, etc. The folk song "Growing bamboo and raising fish brings a thousand times the profit, thanks to Xi Shi and Fan Li" is still popular among the people living near Taihu Lake.
Tickets can be booked online. You need to go to the ticket machine to pick up the tickets first.
When I went there, there was a sunflower exhibition in Liyuan.
The garden waterscape is the traditional garden landscape of Jiangnan
There is a ferry in the park every hour.
It was already dusk when we went there, but it was still beautiful. It was like being in the scene of Fan Li picking up girls.
In spring, cherry blossoms and peach blossoms bloom, and the scenery is quite beautiful, with small bridges and flowing water.
I went there twice, in March and September. The scenery was different. It was nice to see the lotus in summer.
If you live nearby, go and have a look. It just rained, the air is fresh and there are few people.

I went there in October, which is not the flowering season. There is no stunning beauty of flowers in full bloom, but there is the beauty of autumn, interpreting the story of Fan Li and Xi Shi. This is an exquisite Jiangnan garden like a lady from a noble family.
One word "蠡" can remind us of many people and many things.
It's a very small garden, a memorial place for Fan Li and Xi Shi. You have to take a boat trip to Xishi Garden to have a look. There are five black swans and eat biscuits haha😄 According to the tour guide, the peach blossoms are most beautiful in March!
The scenery is only available in March and April, so don’t go in other seasons
Liyuan is one of the major scenic spots in Wuxi. The scenery is quite mediocre, but the lotus flowers in summer are pretty good. Xishi Island is full of artificial attractions, not where Fan Li and Xishi lived, and it can be said that it has nothing to do with them at all. The boat ticket to the island is 30 yuan per person, and there is a boat every hour. Although there is no amazing scenery on Xishi Island, it is worth the price just to take a boat back and forth on Taihu Lake.
It's very beautiful, much more beautiful than ordinary gardens, and it's worth a trip.
Compared with some old-fashioned Jiangnan gardens, the gate of Liyuan appears simple and low-key.
At the entrance, there is a row of rockery built with Taihu stones. Walking around in the rockery is like entering a maze.
But once you pass the rockery, the view opens up. I wonder if this is the landscaping technique of Jiangnan gardens that uses small details to see the big picture?
Liyuan Landscape - amidst the vast waves of Taihu Lake, there are small bridges, flowing water, pavilions, towers, rockery and waterfalls dotted with the southern gardens. What a perfect combination of the two.
The lake is sparkling, the trees on the river bank are swaying, and the willows and peach blossoms are blooming. The spring scenery is so beautiful!
Relive the romantic love story of Fan Li and Xi Shi. The four great beauties of ancient China are fascinating, and the clear river water reflects their beautiful figures...
This season,
Compared to the plum garden without plum blossoms,
Liyuan is indeed better.
Pavilions, corridors, bridges and terraces, by the Lihu Lake,

The beauty that can make fish sink to the bottom of the water, the face that can make Xi Shi beautiful,
Anecdotes about Fan Li, interesting and witty talk.
The style of gardens, close to Suzhou,
Each has its own elegance and is equally good.
