I have wanted to visit this cave for a long time, but I was unable to do so due to time constraints when I traveled to Jiangsu Province with my wife twice in 1992 and 2002. When I traveled to Zhejiang Province today, I specially arranged to pass by this place and visit it by the way. The scenery inside the cave is really ordinary, with poorly developed stalactites. The small area is divided into upper, middle, lower and water caves. In fact, the middle and upper caves are in the same hall. Go down to the lower cave through a small curved passage, and an underground river emerges. It takes more than 10 minutes to get out of the cave by boat. The ticket claims that it is one of the "three most amazing caves in the world", which is really exaggerated and does not live up to the name (it is not even ranked in the top three in China, let alone the world).

There aren't too many people on weekends, so you can see caves like this without going to Guilin. The caves are very beautiful inside and outside.

Shanjuan Cave is one of the three caves in Yixing and the earliest developed underground cave in China. It has not only strange stalactites, but also underground rivers and underground waterfalls, which are very spectacular. You can sail in the underground river, and the cave is colorful and worth seeing.

There are only 3 scenic spots on the mountain, and almost no one goes up the mountain. A warm reminder: you definitely don’t have to go up the mountain, and just visit the Shanjuan Cave.

Personally, I feel that 2 hours is enough to visit. The cave is quite unique. There is only one temple on the cable car up the mountain, and nothing else. I personally do not recommend going up the mountain. The cave needs to be explained to be understood. We took the tour guide and thought it was worth seeing.

It is a good place to escape the heat in summer, but the facilities in the scenic area are not so exquisite!

On the left side of the entrance was the Savage Valley, where there were savage performances and you could take photos with the savages for free. There was a small cave next to the Savage Valley. My son was very curious and kept turning on the flashlight several times, saying, "Mom, I seem to have seen a treasure." After the Savage Valley, the cave is just ahead. The stele with the characters "all diseases eliminated" was touched by my family many times. I hope everyone is healthy. After seeing the waterfall, we lined up to take the underground river cruise. We waited in line for about half an hour. There were more than a dozen people in a boat. They didn't use oars, but used their arm strength to row the boat directly with the help of the cave. Be careful not to bump your head.

It's not that beautiful, it's just a light show. I took a quick look and it was like revisiting the place after many years. After leaving the Shanjuan Cave area, I took the cable car up the mountain. There is a Shanquan Temple and a pottery bar on the mountain, which claims to allow tourists to experience making small purple clay handicrafts by themselves and take them away (well, I did take them away, but the process of making them by yourself is actually taking a piece of clay and pressing a zodiac clay cake in a mold, and the box costs 2 yuan/piece). I walked and stopped, and the air was very good. After wandering for a few hours, I finished visiting the Shanjuan Scenic Area.

The package ticket for Shanjuan Cave is 110 yuan, and you can book it online for 100 yuan. It takes at least three hours to play in the whole scenic area. When the boat is driving in the water cave, tourists have to lower their heads to cooperate, because some rock walls are very low, and they will hit the wall if they don’t lower their heads. The boatman in the water cave does not use tools to support the boat, but controls the boat by grasping the rock wall with his hands. He controls the boat at the stern first and then at the bow, which requires skills and strength.

The entrance is in the middle cave, which is a large natural stone hall named Lion and Elephant Field. Above the stone hall are various vivid stalactites, which are lifelike with the light. The route is from top to bottom. The scale of the upper cave is larger than that of the middle cave. There are strange "creatures" everywhere, which are lifelike. The cave is affected by water droplets all year round, cool and humid, and it is easy to slip underfoot. Especially the stone tablets of the upper and lower caves, like the small stairs in the Seventy-two Tenants, are narrow and slippery. If you are not careful, you will fall and get a disability certificate. Walk quickly through the lower cave and the back cave. The back cave is connected to the water cave, which is a stream underneath. The rushing water and the colorful lighting effect are breathtaking. The Crystal Palace is where the Dragon King stays. Visitors can take a boat to get here. Remember: the stone pillars are low when the boat is gliding, so be careful when you look up, and don't let the two Dragon King horns appear after you leave the cave, which would be embarrassing.

Shanjuan Cave actually has four caves, namely the upper, middle, lower cave and the water cave. The middle cave is empty with strange rocks standing all around; the temperature in the upper cave is so high that my glasses fogged up as soon as I went up there, and I thought there was heating; the lower cave is the highest, and there is a waterfall at the end, which doesn't drop 3,000 feet, but it can be considered "dropping 30 feet"; the water cave is connected to the back cave, and you need to take a boat to visit it. The boatman skillfully propped the boat left and right on the side wall of the cave, but we had to be careful not to hit our heads at all times, and we didn't even have time to take pictures. After a while, I saw the four big words "Suddenly Enlightened", and I knew that I had reached the end of the boat tour.

I recommend Shanjuan Cave in Yixing. There is a text about visiting Shanjuan Cave in the elementary school textbook. I wanted to go there when I was a child. It is a well-established karst cave attraction. It is divided into 3 caves for viewing. It is interesting as in the text. The key is that it is too cool inside. The temperature outside is 35°C, and it is less than 20°C inside. The pool of water dripping from the stalactites for thousands of years. When you look up at the first cave, it looks like "wax elephants galloping on the plains and silver snakes dancing on the mountains". It is particularly important to note that Shanjuan Cave is a one-way tour and cannot be reversed. You cannot return to play for a second time.

The only drawback is that the exit and the entrance are less than 2km apart. If you drive by yourself, you have to walk back to the parking lot or take a local car.

Shanjuan Cave has some origins with the story of Liang Zhu. There are two performances before 3 pm. You can buy it as needed! To visit Shanjuan Cave, you can drive by yourself or take a bus. Bus 202 can go directly to the gate of the scenic area, and Bus 228 can take you to Shanjuan. Follow the instructions and walk about 1 kilometer to reach the gate! Shanjuan Cave is suitable for visiting on cloudy or overcast days. There is basically no shade outside the cave. Pay attention to summer heat on hot days. The cable car will not be open on rainy days, so you need to pay attention! Shanjuan Cave Scenic Area is in Shanjuan Town. There are various services in the town, including hotels, banks, and shops. It is very convenient! As the first of the famous "Three Caves in Yixing", Shanjuan Cave must be visited once to be considered as having been to Yixing!

I remember going there many years ago, the tour guide told me that there was an episode in Journey to the West, the Yellow Wind Monster Blowing Chili Powder, and his cave was filmed in Shanjuan Cave. There is a rare tree species in the scenic area, the small-leaved silver hazel.

It is a famous cave in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. It is much larger than Zhanggong Cave. The hall is very high. Under the light, the rocks are jagged and colorful. You have to take a boat to walk through a narrow waterway. There is a hole on the waterway. The boatman said that it can pass through Malaysia and Singapore.

The tickets bought in China-TravelNote are 10-20 yuan cheaper than at the counter. The people in Yixing are very easy-going. When we encountered some problems during ticket checking, they explained to us carefully and helped us solve the problem. It is relatively small inside, very cool, a little humid, and the lighting is very beautiful.

It is also nice to take a boat to the water cave, but it is only more than 100 meters long. You have to lower your head when the boat is sailing, otherwise it is easy to hit the rock wall.

I went there on May Day. There were so many people that I had to wait in line for almost an hour to get on a boat, but it was still exciting. It was also quite novel to see the cave for the first time. I don't know if it is warm in winter and cool in summer, but it is indeed cool inside.

For other activities, we went to see the wild man performance, which was OK. There were a lot of people in the pottery bar, and you had to spend money to buy a mirror frame to take away. My husband said that it would make his hands dirty, so he didn't play~ We went to the Biyi Pavilion of Liang Zhu, which was quite romantic~

Shanjuantong is one of the three most amazing caves in the world. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers, and the scenery is very beautiful.

Entering the cave is like entering an underground palace. The entrance is in the middle cave. The Lion and Elephant Square in the middle cave is a natural stone hall with an area of ​​1,000 square meters. A stalactite stalagmite as high as 7 meters stands at the entrance of the cave, named Dizhu Peak.

The entire cave is composed of four caves: upper, middle, lower and back. Each cave is strange and interconnected. Generally, you enter the middle cave first, then the upper cave entrance, and then walk up a very steep staircase to enter the lower cave, where you can also see a mountain spring waterfall.

On the way to the water cave... Water drops were dripping on my face and hair from time to time. The tour guide next to me said that being dripped by water is a blessing.

There are student tickets and adult tickets. I bought them directly. I don't know if there are group tickets online. The former residence of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai is worth a visit. There is a water cave inside. There is a section of the journey where you have to take a boat by hand. There are no oars. There are a few moments in the cave that are quite thrilling.

There is an inland river where you can take a boat tour. It feels good.

After exiting the cave, you can walk to Liangzhu Park (Yingtai Academy). Then walk along the road to the cable car. Next to the cable car boarding point is the pottery bar. We entered with our tickets and each of us took a piece of purple clay. There are many templates in the pottery bar. Fill the gaps in the template with purple clay to make a piece of decorative clay. The templates are made of the twelve zodiac signs and coin patterns.

After leaving Taoba, we took the cable car to the temple on the top of the mountain. The cable car journey is not long, but you can still have a panoramic view of the scenery of Shanjuan Town, Yixing.

When we went down the mountain, we chose the slide. We put on a piece of cloth to prevent our pants from being worn out, put on gloves, and slid down the mountain like a slide. It was a little bit exciting, but very fun, especially when we went around the bends. It was my first time to ride it, and I thought it was really fun.

You can feel the hidden thunder and lightning, the distant waves, the sound of drums and the galloping of thousands of horses. There are more fantastic scenes created by stalactites, including emerald green grapes, orange-yellow Buddha's hands, white and tender lotus roots, flapping white cranes, towering stone pines, plum blossom screens, etc., all in various shapes and forms, and beautiful beyond words. The wonders of Shanjuan are mainly the lower cave and the water cave.

It feels good to take a boat tour in the cave

There is a small hill in the scenic area. You can take the cable car when going up and the slide when coming down, which are all included in the ticket.

We finished touring the whole scenic area in less than two hours, and once again lamented that the ticket price was not worth it.

As soon as we entered the scenic area, the scenery was very nice and lush, and the temperature suddenly felt a few degrees lower than outside.

Entering the cave, the light was dim, and I didn't notice what was inside. The ground was wet and slippery, and there were water drops on the stone walls, which would drip down from time to time and make my skin feel cool. There was also a slight breeze in the cave, so it was still a good place to escape the heat in summer, but the cave was narrow and not suitable for staying for a long time.

Shanjuan Cave is well-known. It is said on the Internet that it is one of the three most amazing caves in the world. I don't know if it is an exaggeration. In terms of area and development level, it is indeed a step up from Linggu Cave. The cave is located in the belly of the mountain. It is divided into four caves: upper, middle, lower and water. The design of the tour path is also relatively reasonable. Each area has its own characteristics and the distinction is relatively obvious. It is unlikely that you will feel confused after a round. The entire scenic area is divided into the inside and outside of the cave. The inside of the cave is the focus, while the outside of the cave is the main Liangzhu brand. You can enter Shanjuan Cave not far from the entrance of the scenic area.

The entrance to Shanjuan Cave is the Middle Cave. The stone pillar at the entrance is called Dizhu Peak. It is said that it took tens of thousands of years to form and is still growing at a rate of one centimeter every few decades. The Middle Cave is also called the Lion and Elephant Field, named after the stones on both sides that look like lions and elephants. My imagination is not very good, so I can't see all the "similarities" in the two caves, so I can only look at the words directly.

After walking for a while in the middle cave, there is a fork. Going up is the upper cave. The temperature in the upper cave is maintained at around 23 degrees all year round, and the humidity seems to be quite high. When walking from the cooler middle cave to the upper cave, a layer of mist immediately appeared on the camera lens, so the first photo became foggy. The middle cave is also called the cloud and fog field.

Go back to the middle cave and take another road. After a downward winding staircase, you will reach the lower cave. The lower cave and the water cave have contributed greatly to the fame of Shanjuan Cave. The "waterfall" at the entrance of the lower cave (let's call it a waterfall) and the underground river in the water cave make Shanjuan Cave different from other caves and more distinctive.

Continue walking along the waterfall and you will see a pier, which is the water cave where the essence of Shanjuan Cave is located. You need to take a boat to visit the water cave. The deepest part of the water can reach 5 meters, and you need to sit down and lower your head to pass through the lowest part of the cave. It feels very novel to sail in the narrow underground waterway and watch the oars paddling in the water and sometimes above your head.

The scenery is nice, and it makes A-mei feel silly

The savage performance was nothing more than roaring and jumping, so after watching for a while we continued walking forward. We came here to play on the underground bamboo raft, but we still have to applaud the performers for their hard work.

Due to insufficient equipment and a lot of group tours that day, the photos taken inside the cave were not good. However, it was also because of those groups that my sister and I listened to a lot of guides' introductions. Otherwise, it would be difficult to see the scenery inside the cave, haha

I heard that there is a pottery bar in Shanjuan Cave where you can make your own pottery. I was very happy, but in the end... alas, it's just a piece of clay and a template. . Now that I'm here, I'll make my own zodiac sign as a souvenir.

The pottery bar is a rip-off. It costs 25 dollars to carve a piece of clay in a template and put it in a frame. It's really not worth it. The salesperson there kept suggesting to buy their ready-made ones, but I didn't want it, thinking that at least I carved it myself, so it still has meaning. As a result, I have to take the ones I carved back to dry, and they just squeezed a lump of glue to stick on the frame. Oh... I regret it. The result of not drying it is that when I made the slide later, it also slid down and slipped out of the frame.

The weather originally said it would rain, but it turned out to be quite nice the whole day. It was cloudy and the air was very good. It was like a natural oxygen bar!

As soon as I stepped in, I was attracted by these tall bamboo shoots, but later I found that they were really rare and there were them everywhere on the whole mountain!

It’s best to find a tour guide there, because they don’t describe many of the images in the cave, and you don’t know what to see.

When I arrived at Shanjuan Cave, I bought the tickets I had booked online at the ticket center (80 yuan/person). It was quite convenient to buy tickets with the serial number sent by the city.

How young we were when we went to Shanjuan Cave! We were all pointing out the mountains and rivers, writing inspiring words, full of scholarly vigor and ambition... I can't forget the good times, the beautiful scenery, and the beautiful friendship!

Shanjuan Cave includes the upper cave, middle cave, lower cave and water cave. You can see them all by following the signboards of the scenic spot, and finally take a boat out of the water cave. The whole cave is OK. In fact, the stalactite shape is very good, but the lighting is not well done. It feels not as good as the one in Guilin Ludiyan Cave. It is quite good to take a boat to visit the water cave, but it is a bit short. It ends before you can see enough. In addition to the cave, there are some artificial attractions. There are too many people, and it is crowded to take a cable car.
