The entire Daming Temple is divided into three parts: the central part is the main temple building, the eastern part is the Qiling Pagoda, and the western part is the garden-style back garden.
The most famous building in the temple is the Qiling Pagoda, where the relics of Sakyamuni are enshrined. Li Bai, Bai Juyi and others have also visited and composed poems.
From the top of the tower, you can overlook Daming Temple, Slender West Lake and Yangzhou City. There is a "Bell Ringing Ceremony" on December 31st every year.
On the birthdays and anniversaries of various Bodhisattvas, Daming Temple will also hold ceremonies. For details of the specific ceremonies and dates, please refer to the official website.

There are 480 temples in the Southern Dynasties. There are really many temples in the Jiangnan area. Even if you don't believe in Buddhism, you have seen many temples. This temple has a long history and looks quite different from those later temples. The layout of the garden temple adds a bit of tranquility to the temple. The temple is very popular. There are joint tickets with Slender West Lake that can be purchased. You can buy joint tickets here during the peak tourist season. There are too many people in Slender West Lake~
Daming Temple is located in the Shugang Scenic Area in the northwest suburb of Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It was first built in the first year of the Daming period of Emperor Xiaowu of the Southern Song Dynasty (457 AD). It got its name because it was first built during the Daming period of Emperor Xiaowu of the Southern Song Dynasty. It has experienced many disasters in history, and what we see now is the reconstruction during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty.
It is really stunning to go there when the weather is good, especially the Qiling Pagoda is really beautiful under the sun. Yangzhou Hanling Garden, Daming Temple, Tang City Ruins Museum, and Guanyin Mountain are all here.
Daming Temple was really picked up randomly. Before entering Daming Temple, I didn't know where this temple came from? What story is there? I saw a tower from afar in Slender West Lake, and I was in good physical condition. So I walked around Slender West Lake and walked to the north gate to see the tower.
Only when I really arrived at the temple gate did I realize the great origin of Daming Temple. Don’t be fooled by this inconspicuous temple gate, the Buddha inside has great supernatural powers.
Daming Temple is located in the northwest suburbs of Yangzhou City. It was named after the fact that it was first built during the reign of Emperor Xiaowu of the Southern Song Dynasty. Over the past thousand years, the name of the temple has changed a lot. It was called "Qiling Temple" in the Sui Dynasty, "Chengping" Temple in the late Tang Dynasty, and "Fajing Temple" in the Qing Dynasty. In 1980, in order to welcome the return of the statue of Master Jianzhen for a tour, it was renamed "Daming Temple". The Qiling Pagoda was built, which is nine stories high and magnificent. There are bell towers and drum towers facing east and west on the side of the tower.
The first viewpoint in Huaidong and the fifth spring in the world.
The architecture in the temple has a Sui and Tang Dynasty style. The building commemorating Jianzhen is a bit like a Kyoto temple. After reading the introduction, I learned that in order to promote Buddhism, Master Jianzhen accepted the invitation of Japanese monks and happily led the monks to Japan, so Daming Temple is quite famous in Yangzhou. This place is also related to Ouyang Xiu.
You can go to the top of the Qiling Pagoda in the temple, but you need to pay an additional ticket. It is said that you can see the entire Slender West Lake and ring the bell, but I didn't go to the top because I didn't have much interest.
I have to mention that our tour guide gave a very comprehensive introduction to the history of Daming Temple. As for this small temple, I still feel that it is quite worth seeing. Otherwise, you would definitely finish it very quickly if you just rush through it!
This is not only a temple but also a tourist attraction in Yangzhou. It has a sense of history and modernity combined. There is also a fifth spring in the world which is quite interesting. According to the tour guide, no one will compete for the fifth place in this spring!
Daming Temple has Qiling Pagoda in the east and Pingshan Hall in the west. In front of Pingshan Hall, I like Ouyang Yongshu's heroic words, "The literary governor writes ten thousand words with a brush and drinks a thousand cups of wine". Outside Qiling Pagoda, there is a posture of lying on the ground to take pictures of tall buildings.
The 40 yuan ticket is worth it to join a tour group and listen to the explanation after entering. There are not many people, and it is enough to walk around for 2 hours, and basically visit every corner. It costs 20 yuan to climb to the top of the Qiling Pagoda and take in the scenery of Yangzhou. You must climb up to see it, otherwise it will be a waste of time.
A holy place for taking photos. The breeze and drizzle at Daming Temple, the selfless state of a great monk
Those who like humanities and history must go to Daming Temple, which is related to Ouyang Xiu.
A national cultural treasure with rich historical and cultural connotations.
The area is very large, and I couldn't find Pingshan Hall. You need to buy an extra ticket to go up to the building, 20 for adults
Not bad. After visiting Jinshan Temple, I feel it is much better than Jinshan Temple!
I feel that it is a big loss to buy tickets separately. There are almost no ancient buildings, and most of the buildings do not look as modern as the free Guanyin Mountain next to it. It costs another 20 yuan to climb the tower, and you have to go out from the north gate of Slender West Lake to go to Daming Temple, which often affects the integrity of the tour of Slender West Lake. It is good to just look at the Slender West Lake from a distance.
Passing by, it looks very solemn and majestic from the outside. I will go there again if I have the chance.
The famous Daming Temple is not far from Slender West Lake.
Most of the current buildings were rebuilt after the Qing Dynasty, but they are magnificent and have a Tang Dynasty style. The Qiling Pagoda in the temple is nine stories high and is used to enshrine Buddha bones. However, it was also rebuilt in the 1980s, as the original pagoda was destroyed in the Tang Dynasty.
There are still many attractions. It is very pleasant to listen to the guide's explanation and walk around in the quiet garden. In terms of architecture, there are halls, monuments, towers, and Japanese-style buildings. When we were visiting, a big shot came and hosted and accompanied us throughout the whole process, which was very impressive.
I won’t go into detail about Daming Temple, the hometown of Master Jianzhen. You can go up to the Qiling Pagoda inside, but you have to pay. After going up, you can go to the bell tower to ring the bell and pray for blessings. The most amazing thing is that there is an elevator to go up, so you don’t have to walk up. The tour time of Daming Temple is not long.
Opposite the north gate of Slender West Lake is Daming Temple. I was moved by the story of Monk Jianzhen's six voyages to the east. He passed away in Kyoto at the age of 76 and never set foot on the land of his hometown again. It is really great.
The design of Jianzhen Memorial Hall is consistent with that of Tang Zhaoti Temple in Kyoto where he passed away. It is deep and quiet. I really want to go to Kyoto again. Climb up the Qiling Tower and overlook the entire old city of Yangzhou. The beautiful scenery is in full view.
It is not a very obvious temple, but the scenery inside is nice, with various flowers and trees setting off the
Daming Temple is located on a hill next to Slender West Lake. You can visit it together with Slender West Lake. The oldest thing about Daming Temple is the pair of lions at the gate. They are real antiques, fished out of the river. The scenery inside the temple is pretty good. There are also many people.
It's not bad, I like it very much. There are only a few days left in the summer vacation, so I took my children to play there. The environment and scenery are good.
It is very close to Slender West Lake. It was built in the Sui Dynasty and was expanded in every subsequent dynasty. Although it was damaged and destroyed, later generations continued to add to it and gradually expanded its scale. Ouyang Xiu built a hall here in the Northern Song Dynasty and wrote a plaque. It has become a Buddhist holy place in the Qing Dynasty. The establishment of the Jianzhen Memorial Hall has brought together the Sino-Japanese Buddhist exchanges here and further expanded its influence.
At the vegetarian restaurant outside Daming Temple, order a bowl of vegetarian noodles to calm your mind and cleanse your stomach.
The Daming Temple is right outside the north gate of Slender West Lake. There is the Memorial Hall of Master Jianzhen of the Tang Dynasty and the Pingshan Hall built by Ouyang Xiu of the Northern Song Dynasty for banquets and receptions.
Daming Temple is very small. After passing through the main gate, you will see the main hall. Climbing to the top of the Daming Temple pagoda, you can see the scenery of Yangzhou. Daming Temple is famous for Master Jianzhen's six trips to Japan to spread culture. There is a seated statue of Jianzhen in the Jianzhen Memorial Hall, where you can go to pay homage to this master. Of course, what attracts us most about Daming Temple is the Jianzhen Eastward Zen Tea Show, which is the signature performance of Daming Temple. It is worthwhile to have a cup of tea and take a rest, and watch a history of Jianzhen's growth. Although we are not Buddhists, there are often Buddhist disciples who come to Daming Temple for further study. There are still many tourists who experience copying scriptures. After the copying of scriptures, the stage area began to perform the history of Jianzhen's eastward journey, recreating the grace of Jianzhen in those days. The whole performance lasted about 40 minutes, which is still very interesting for understanding Jianzhen's life trajectory.
That tower is nice. If you are physically fit, you should pay 20 yuan to climb the tower. I am afraid of heights and can't walk, so I can only look down.
In addition to the entrance fee, Daming Temple also charges a fee for climbing the tower, which is great for taking photos.
It is rare to see a temple and a hall coexisting in the same garden. Therefore, in Yangzhou, everyone calls it Pingshan Hall instead of Daming Temple.
Daming Temple is not a simple Buddhist temple, but consists of five parts: temple ruins, Qiling Pagoda, Jianzhen Memorial Hall, Immortal Old Hall, and Xiyuan Fangpu. It is a rare tourist attraction in China that combines garden scenery, cultural relics and religious buildings.
The temple is home to many scenic spots, from ancient temples and Buddha relics from the Southern Dynasties, to precious pagodas from the Sui Dynasty, eminent monks from the Tang Dynasty, to famous halls from the Song Dynasty and imperial steles from the Qing Dynasty.
In front of the archway, there is a pair of stone lions, carved according to the specifications of the royal garden. They are ancient relics of the famous Chongning Temple in Yangzhou, and were moved here in the 1960s. Two stone tablets are embedded on the east and west walls of the temple. The east one is "The First View of Huaidong" by Jiang Hengshan, and the west one is "The Fifth Spring in the World" written by Wang Shu. Passing through the God of Wealth Temple on the left, which has a strong commercial atmosphere but is suitable for the scene, you will reach the square, where the Qiling Pagoda that you just saw from a distance in the Slender West Lake stands.
It was almost noon when we arrived at Daming Temple. It was hot and sunny in Yangzhou in early August, so we were not in the mood. However, we still listened to the tour guide's explanation. It was a pity that we did not climb the tower to see the scenery of Yangzhou.
The ticket is 45 yuan, I bought a package ticket (Slender West Lake + Daming Temple) online, 124 yuan. I don't recommend you to go in, because it is too new and there is nothing real.
The buildings here were all newly built in imitation of Japanese temples because Monk Jianzhen went to Japan from here. It is said that they were designed by Liang Sicheng.
We bought tickets for 40 yuan each, and another 20 yuan was charged for climbing the tower. There were many people climbing the tower, so the staff told us that we could go to the side and ring the bell first. With the tower climbing ticket, we could ring the bell three times for free at the bell tower.
The children followed us in line obediently, and each person had to knock three times, representing "blessings, wealth, and longevity" respectively.
There is also a saying that ringing the bell once can get rid of one worry, and ringing it 108 times can get rid of all worries, turning misfortune into good fortune and ensuring peace and safety throughout the year.
The most famous thing in the temple is the Qiling Pagoda, in which the relics of Sakyamuni are enshrined.
Climb up to the Qiling Tower and overlook the entire Yangzhou city.
It's relatively good, but compared to other places, there are more people. Xiyuan is more suitable for a quiet visit. Pingshan Hall is worth seeing.
Compared to the Daming Temple, there are far fewer pilgrims. Climbing up the Qiling Pagoda, I, who am used to living in high-rise buildings, can only imagine the feeling when Liu Yuxi wrote "We walk hand in hand without feeling difficult, and lean on the railings outside the nine-layer cloud". In my opinion, the charm of the temple is not only to pray and make wishes, but also the sound of the tower bells, the wind chimes on the eaves, the birds singing on the branches, the lush ancient trees, and the lingering smoke, which can gradually calm the restless heart from the visual, auditory and olfactory senses.
Yangzhou Daming Temple is famous for Master Jianzhen's six voyages to Japan to spread culture. It is a typical temple of Chinese Buddhism with a good environment. It is worth a visit. It is not far from the north exit of Yangzhou's Slender West Lake.
The predecessor of Daming Temple, Qiling Temple, was named after the Qiling Pagoda built by Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty, Yang Jian, who built this pagoda to enshrine Buddha bones. Although it was destroyed by a fire in the Tang Dynasty, it was rebuilt by monks. Master Jianzhen was the abbot of Daming Temple before he sailed to Japan. He sailed to Japan six times and finally succeeded after many hardships. The Jianzhen Memorial Hall was built after Daming Temple to commemorate Master Jianzhen. Ouyang Xiu built Pingshan Hall in the Northern Song Dynasty, and there is a stone portrait of Ouyang Xiu inside. Daming Temple can be reached directly by bus and is very close to the Hanling Garden, so you can visit it together. The Qiling Pagoda in the temple requires a fee to visit, so I did not go in. There is a seated statue of Jianzhen in the Jianzhen Memorial Hall, and you can go there to pay respect to this master.
It is recommended to go to the tower to see the whole scenery of Yangzhou
Temples were not our focus, mainly because we had no faith in them. So we just walked around Daming Temple...
I followed a tour guide and listened to the guide introduce a building in the temple about Master Jianzhen. I got to know Master Jianzhen better. (He can be said to be the founder of Japanese culture)
It's not big, but it has a memorial hall for Monk Jianzhen. Finally, let me talk about the tower. You need to pay an additional 20 yuan to go to the seventh floor of the tower. That's the second thing. The eighth floor inexplicably showed the Buddha's bone relics of Sakyamuni... and then taught you how to worship and sing. If I remember correctly, the Buddha's bone relics of Sakyamuni should be in Famen Temple. Does the routine look familiar? Anyway, I just walked away. It's really weird that the temple that you buy tickets to enter still plays this trick.
When you come to Daming Temple, you must climb the tower. There is a relic enshrined on the tower. Don't worry about the tower being too high and tiring to climb up. Just climb to the second floor and there will be an elevator directly to the top of the tower. You can overlook the city of Yangzhou from the top of the tower, which is a great feeling.
Daming Temple is a thousand-year-old temple built during the Southern Song Dynasty. It houses the Qiling Pagoda, which houses the relics of Sakyamuni. There is an elevator inside the pagoda, which you can take to the top of the pagoda to see the distant view and listen to the Buddhist chants. Friends with good physical strength and sincere hearts can hike up the pagoda. Pingshan Hall was built by Ouyang Xiu, the prefect of Yangzhou during the Northern Song Dynasty, and was highly praised by many literati at the time. The Jianzhen Memorial Hall was designed by Liang Sicheng in imitation of the Toshodaiji Temple in Nara, Japan, with a simple and elegant style.
""Buddhist Youth-Jianzhen's Journey to the East-Two Stars of the Northern Song Dynasty""
What was beyond my expectation was that the Buddha's relics were actually open to the public. They were just opened to the public in January 2018. Although the lighthouse charges a fee, the moment I saw the stupa, my heart was very peaceful. It is a magical place. If there is something in life that you can't let go of, maybe this will help.
[Note: Daming Temple stops selling tickets at 16:15 (not in line with the time informed by China-TravelNote)] The history of Daming Temple does not match the appearance it presents to tourists today and the quality of service in the scenic area. [ps. Climbing the Qiling Pagoda costs 20 yuan] The Buddhist temple is a must-go for every devout person. The Jianzhen Memorial Hall, Ouyang Temple, and the Kangxi and Qianlong inscriptions are available for sightseeing. Except for the buildings that are restored from the original site, the other exhibits are almost all imitations. You can listen to the explanation of this history. Overall, I recommend 4 stars, all for
It was first built in the Southern Dynasties and is very famous. In addition to the temple itself, it is also a memorial to Jianzhen.
A little regretful is that when I went to the gate to buy tickets after 3:30, I asked how long the tour would take, and they said 1-1.5 hours, but they didn't remind me of the closing time. I walked around for a while, and when I arrived at the Qiling Tower at around 4 o'clock, they reminded me whether I needed to buy a ticket to climb the tower. They were about to get off work, and then I realized that I had only visited a small part. I had to speed up and continue.
The ticket price doesn't matter. Three incense sticks cost 60 RMB. I've never seen such a high price.
The "Jianzhen" in the name of Yangzhou Marathon comes from the fact that the monk Jianzhen braved dangers and traveled to Japan six times to spread Buddhism and Chinese culture. This also coincides with the perseverance and never-give-up spirit of real runners. The torch lighting of the 2017 Yangzhou Marathon was also held in the Jianzhen Memorial Hall of Daming Temple. Athletes can also visit Daming Temple for free with their race number book.
Daming Temple is composed of several parts. I am not very interested in this kind of attractions, so I only went to the Qiling Pagoda of Daming Temple. I climbed the tower hoping to overlook the Slender West Lake, but the view was not very good. I did not go to the archway, Pingshan Hall, West Garden, and Jianzhen Memorial Hall. Friends who are interested can come and have a look. I've posted a few photos for your reference.
Located in the north of Slender West Lake, the tower inside has become a very beautiful borrowed scenery of Slender West Lake. Daming Temple itself is also very distinctive. Ouyang Xiu left Pingshan Hall here. Just like Hangzhou West Lake has Bai Juyi and Su Shi, Daming Lake has Zeng Gong, Slender West Lake has Ouyang Xiu to rival them. In addition, there is the Fifth Spring in the World, and there are also some small gardens in the temple. In addition, there is the Jianzhen Memorial Hall that must be mentioned separately.
Daming Temple was first built in the Southern Dynasties, more than 1,500 years ago. The famous monk Jianzhen preached scriptures and gave precepts here before he sailed to Japan. The most famous thing in the temple is the Qiling Pagoda.
Daming Temple is a beautiful Buddhist temple, but it is not just a temple.
There are not only the "small bridges, flowing water, rockery and waterfalls, pavilions and towers" of Jiangnan gardens;
It also seems to have added some Japanese garden design techniques, such as a central courtyard surrounded by flowing water.
Or ponds, pavilions, winding paths, or spacious lawns, tall trees...
I wonder if these are related to Jianzhen's voyage to the East? The above is just my personal guess!
You can take the tourist bus from the gate of Daming Temple directly to He Garden without buying a ticket.
Yes, it's free riding! What a convenient tourist city, thumbs up!
It's a temple with a bit of history, the architecture is OK and it's quite popular.
The biggest impression that Daming Temple gave me was its tranquility, especially the many ponds inside where people would release animals. After visiting the picturesque Slender West Lake, it is also a good experience to come to Daming Temple to experience the majesty of religion.
Also known as Pingshan Hall, it contains the Jianzhen Memorial Hall, which is like a small park and is worth a visit.
Just check in! There are many charges! The clock tower and the tower are all charged! Boring!
Daming Temple is relatively quiet. The first floor of Qiling Pagoda is under repair, so we did not climb up the pagoda. The West Garden of the scenic area is quite beautiful.
I didn't have much impression of Daming Temple, firstly because I didn't have any faith in it, and secondly because I was at the end of my strength: Daming Temple is adjacent to the northwest of Slender West Lake, and it takes only more than ten minutes to walk from the northeast gate of Slender West Lake. In the past, I bought tickets in the form of a combined ticket, which was 105 yuan during the Spring Festival (15 yuan for Daming Temple), but because Slender West Lake is definitely the first attraction, I would be very tired after walking for more than 4 hours. Going to Daming Temple does require a lot of physical strength (after all, I have to climb a small mountain road), and time is also very tight (it doesn't matter if adults go shopping by themselves, but after all, I have to consider the need to eat on time with children)
To be fair, there are still many places to visit in Daming Temple, especially Jianzhen Hall and the boat hall are also quite interesting. However, there are some problems with the guide in the temple. I walked around for several times but didn’t see Pingshan Hall. In the end, I was really exhausted and only saw a corner. The fifth spring in the world in the temple is quite interesting, especially for us tourists from Jinan, the city of springs. Of course, the evaluation system of a ranking is still different. Here we evaluate the most suitable spring for tea in the world, which refers to the water quality, so the first spring is not the Baotu Spring in Jinan.
The mountain scenery is quite in line with the style of Yangzhou, beautiful and unique, with a sense of grandeur in the details. There are not many tourists, at least there is no need to queue for the restroom, although there seems to be only one. The most worth seeing is the Jianzhen Memorial Hall, where some replicas of ships can still show the hardships of the eastward crossing.
This morning, I arrived at the main restaurant of Yechun Yumatou for lunch at 7 o'clock, strolled to the south gate of Slender West Lake in the drizzle around 8 o'clock, and went out of the north gate of Slender West Lake to Daming Temple at 12 o'clock. When I came out of Daming Temple at 1 o'clock in the afternoon, I found that it was too difficult to get a taxi. There were very few taxis and the bus stop was far away. It is recommended to avoid this period at noon as much as possible.
It is next to the Slender West Lake, 10 minutes away. I bought a combined ticket, so I went to see it. It costs an additional 20 yuan to climb the tower.
The breeze is gentle, the scenery is pleasant, it is very comfortable, I like it very much. There are courtyards of Jianzhen and Ouyang Xiu.
This is the temple where Jianzhen practiced before he crossed the sea to the east. The Qiling Pagoda was rebuilt later. It costs money to go up there.
Damin Temple is located in the northwest suburbs of Yangzhou. It is a famous ancient temple. It has the Heavenly King Hall, Pingshan Hall, Jianzhen Memorial Hall, etc. It has a beautiful environment and is solemn and dignified. It is worth a visit.
Daming Temple was first built in the Southern Song Dynasty, 1,500 years ago. It is the temple where the famous monk Jianzhen preached and received ordination before he sailed to Japan.
Daming Temple is a national 4A-level scenic spot. The ticket price is 45 yuan. As soon as we entered the temple gate, my mother left us to find the tour group and listen to the tour guide's explanation. My father and I slowly visited the temple. When we were tired, we sat down to rest. About half an hour later, my mother came back from the journey, and she acted as a tour guide for me and my father along the way like a mynah bird.
The architecture of the main hall of Daming Temple and the Buddha statues enshrined in it are no different from those of other temples. Only the hall dedicated to Master Jianzhen in the backyard is quite different. It is a separate courtyard with gray and white tones and Japanese-style buildings. The seated statue of Jianzhen in the hall is lifelike. There is another story here. Jianzhen wanted to go to Japan to preach and teach. He went to Japan by sea six times, but failed because of the weather and waves. Later, Jianzhen was blind, but he still remembered the eastward journey to Japan, and finally succeeded. He taught China's Buddhism, advanced manual technology, and agricultural farming technology to Japan, which was backward at the time. The Japanese benefited a lot and respected and loved him very much. Jianzhen wanted to return to his motherland in his later years, but he failed. After Jianzhen died, his body could not be preserved with the Japanese technology at the time. The Japanese came up with a way to wrap his body with 7 layers of linen and take it down after it dried. In this way, the prototype of Jianzhen was replicated and it was easy to keep and worship. Today, this Azabu-style seated statue is a national treasure of Japan and is enshrined in the National Museum of Cultural Heritage.
The seated statue in Daming Temple now is the same as the one in Japan. It is a replica and is slightly heavier.
There is a large construction site behind the Jianzhen Temple, where some buildings have been built. It will be the highest institution of Buddhist learning in my country, and will be used to train senior diplomats for Buddhist diplomacy. It is not open to tourists now, but you can see the construction site and completed buildings from behind the Jianzhen Hall.
When we were leaving after visiting Daming Temple, we saw a vegetarian restaurant next to the pagoda. It was already noon so we had lunch there. We bought noodles, rice, four-happiness meatballs, and sweet and sour pork tenderloin. They tasted good. It cost more than 70 yuan.
There are many monks inside. The temple architecture here is different from what you see in other places. The temple here is in the style of the Tang Dynasty. This temple is where Monk Jianzhen stayed. It also has a close relationship with a famous monk in Japan. There is a long-burning lamp in the temple, which is quite sacred. In addition, chanting Buddhist words and walking around the tower three times clockwise is also a way to fulfill the Buddha's wish. There are also some exquisite gardens and lakes in the temple, as well as the legendary Crane Tomb, which are all worth savoring. You can also stop for a while at Pingshan Hall. There is a story here. Unfortunately, the past and the present are different, but fortunately, the footsteps of history have stayed there.
Daming Temple is also a famous tourist attraction in Yangzhou. The garden landscape inside is unique and exquisite and worth a visit.
It's OK, one day in Yangzhou, the experience is average.
Buddhist temples, the Great Hall, the bell and drum towers, the Ouyang Temple, and the poems of Ouyang Xiu are all worth a visit.
It was about 3pm when we went to Daming Temple. The sun was glaring and the temperature reached about 30 degrees Celsius. It was very hot and sunny. Daming Temple was the last check-in spot and we were exhausted. We didn't visit it in detail, but the scenery my family took when we climbed the tower was still good. We could see Guanyin Temple from a distance, and the green scenery was pleasing to the eyes.
It is famous for the monk Jianzhen who served as the abbot. The scenery is nice. There is an additional charge for climbing the tower and ringing the bell.
I travel around mountains, rivers and pagodas, not to cultivate my next life, but just to meet you on the way.
Daming Temple is very unique, Japanese culture is very profound, the scenery is also very beautiful, and the Qiling Pagoda is really beautiful
This ancient temple is famous for Jianzhen's voyage to the East. It is very popular. There are many golden statues of Bodhisattva donated by people. The main hall is majestic. Those who are interested can pay a visit.
The place next to Slender West Lake is not bad to visit
Daming Temple is located in the Shugang in the north of the city, the Shugang middle peak of the Slender West Lake Scenic Area. It is surrounded by mountains and faces the water, has a long history and beautiful environment, and is a religious tourist destination that integrates Buddhist temples, cultural relics, and gardens. It also has the Fifth Spring in the World.
Daming Temple cannot compare with Slender West Lake in terms of scenery, but you can climb to the top of the tower to see the panoramic view of Slender West Lake. Tourists who do not burn incense and worship Buddha go to Daming Temple mainly to see Monk Jianzhen and learn about the legendary story of Jianzhen's eastward journey to Japan. There are many young monks there, and they also perform rituals at the request of pilgrims. Its building commemorating Jianzhen is a bit like a Kyoto temple. The four of us had a vegetarian meal there at noon, and ordered three dishes and a soup including braised twice-cooked pork, which cost 101 yuan. The taste is not bad, and the pork belly made of egg white meat is so realistic! It is not very convenient to go to the railway station from Daming Temple. You have to transfer to take the bus, walk a lot, and it takes more than an hour. We took a taxi 🚖 for nearly 10 kilometers, which cost 24 yuan and took 30 minutes.
