Huangling Scenic Area is located in Shier Mountain Range, about 7 kilometers southeast of Jiangwan Town, Wuyuan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. It covers an area of about 5 square kilometers, is about 39 kilometers away from Wuyuan County, and is about 9 kilometers away from the Jiangwan Expressway exit.
Huangling Village was built in the middle of the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 500 years. Huangling terraces are covered with green, and the village is full of energy and clouds, so it is called "Tiyun People". Huangling is a typical mountain village, with houses arranged in a fan-shaped ladder around the water outlet. The scenic area is composed of tourist areas such as cableway aerial sightseeing, village street visiting ancient sites, terraced flower sea exploration, and rural customs and folk customs.
On May 15, 2014, Huangling Scenic Area was rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. The main attractions include Huangling Autumn Village, Terraced Fields Flower Sea, Flower Town, Huaxi Water Street, Leixin Bridge, Tianjie, Ice and Snow Museum, and Starry Sky Art Museum.
In March, 100,000 mu of terraced fields are in full bloom. The brilliant yellow rapeseed flowers contrast beautifully with the distant mountains, nearby water, pink walls and black tiles, forming a picture of harmony between man and nature. In front of and behind the houses in the villages in the valley, the white walls and black tiles set off the rapeseed flowers, making it seem like a beautiful ancient village that has walked out of a painting.

"Wuyuan"
Go to Wuyuan to see the rapeseed flowers!
It is better to arrive at the right time than to arrive early!
March is the best time to visit Wuyuan to see rapeseed flowers!
Along the way, I kept marveling at the beauty of the rapeseed flowers!
My mood is getting better and better!
Wuyuan is known as "the most beautiful village in China". The rapeseed fields all over the mountains in spring and the well-preserved Hui-style buildings are the signature attractions of Wuyuan tourism.
Wuyuan tourism is divided into three routes: the East Line, the North Line and the West Line.
There are many places to see rapeseed flowers in Wuyuan, but they are relatively scattered. Since we didn’t want to travel, we chose the Xiling scenic spot.
We stayed at the foot of the Xiling Mountain. Because the weather was bad that day, we decided to go up the mountain the next day when the weather was better. But we were not idle on the first day. We climbed along the path to the tourist center of the scenic area. The path was a bit winding, but the scenery along the way made people feel relaxed.
You need to take a cable car to reach the scenic area. Drying the autumn sun is the biggest scenery of Xiling.
In the scenic area, we went to the strange house and used the visual effects to attract many people to stop and take pictures.
There are a lot of people during the flower blooming season, not only tourists but also students. Most of the students are organized by their schools to go sketching.
There are really too many people in the scenic area. Look at the terraced fields and the Hui-style buildings, and the rest is the same as other ancient towns, nothing special.
Again, there were just too many people. It happened to be the blooming season, and there were so many people going to Wuyuan to see the flowers that on the way back, the traffic was jammed like a blooming flower.
Later I read Weibo and found out that Xie Tong and Guan Guan from Ode to Joy had taken a field trip in Zhiling. I also walked through the place where Deng Lun had filmed before. I was so happy🤪
You must stay in Huangling for a day. Arrive at 3 or 4 pm, check in at the hotel and visit Tianjie. At this time, most of the group tourists have already gone down the mountain. Have dinner at Tianjie Restaurant. There is only one restaurant in the scenic area, so don't have too much hope, just fill your stomach. After dinner, you can walk on the ridge. There are several exhibition areas open to tourists in the scenic area, where you can learn about the local folk customs and famous inns. Get up at 5 or 6 o'clock the next day to visit the sea of flowers. At this time, the scenic area is open to you alone, and you can take whatever photos you want. After visiting the sea of flowers, go to Tianjie Restaurant for breakfast. The most memorable thing is that there is a small dish for breakfast that looks like bamboo shoots and seems to be vegetable heart, which is very refreshing. After breakfast, feel the lively Tianjie or experience the exciting zip line. Then you can pack up the beautiful photos and memories and start the next journey...
The ticket to Huangling Scenic Area is 140 yuan, and you have to take a long cable car to get in and out. Although the weather was rainy, Huangling still gave us too many surprises. In a nutshell, there is the literary and artistic petty bourgeoisie of Gulangyu, the scattered and unique mountain city of Chongqing, the white walls and green tiles unique to Huizhou, and the famous Huangling autumn sunning... Even if we traveled far in the rain, we felt it was worth it.
After passing two bridges, we turned back to Tianjie. The scenery along the way was naturally beautiful. The snacks on Tianjie all had their own stories. Many of the shops played pictures of the owners participating in TV variety shows, creating a sense of honor for tourists to be close to the stars: the snacks that have been on TV are right in front of you, why not try them quickly?
We went to avoid the rain and fill our stomachs, but the biggest reason was that we were greedy - we tasted special yogurt, big meat skewers, and king sausage. After returning home, the children would imitate the boss of the king sausage from time to time, and they were so lifelike that the whole family laughed: secret king sausage, delicious, don't eat king sausage, you will regret it when you go home, if you don't want to regret it, you can try it, fresh pork, skewered and stuffed at home...
Thousands of acres of terraced fields are typical Wuyuan scenery. Huangling doesn’t grow rapeseed, it grows scenery! We took the newly built cable car directly to the highest point, slowly strolled along the viaduct to the village, Tianjie, then crossed the Leixin Bridge and came to the terraced fields to enjoy the sea of flowers, and finally returned to the highest point and took the cable car back to the parking lot.
In fact, the roadside scenery on the way to the small scenic spots in Wuyuan is very good. There is no need to enter the scenic spots. The scenic spots are very similar, and the ancient villages are almost the same. If you want to go, you can just pick one and go in. The rapeseed terraces and autumn drying in Huangling are somewhat special, but the tickets are not included in the pass and need to be purchased separately. The ticket including the cable car is 145. The rapeseed flowers in Huangling bloom relatively later than those in the plains outside. We arrived a little before the peak flowering season, and it felt okay. There was no traffic jam, and there was no queue for the cable car. Don't go on weekends during the peak flowering season. I saw that the traffic was stuck for at least 6 hours on those two days. Fortunately, we avoided it. The traffic jam plus the queue for the cable car would probably make you collapse.
Huangling is a small mountain village in Wuyuan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. It is an ancient village with a history of more than 600 years. The Hui-style houses in the village are built on the mountainside, and there is almost no flat land. It is impossible to dry the harvested crops like on the plains. Therefore, every autumn, the villagers will dry all kinds of harvests on the drying racks outside the house walls. When the sun rises, looking from a high place, the white-walled and black-tiled houses are stacked layer by layer, and the yellow ginkgo, red maple leaves, and fruits show colorful colors in the round bamboo drying plaques, a beautiful "autumn drying" picture! I have to admire the wisdom of the people of Huangling.
Hanging on the cliff, the ancient village of Huangling has no flat ground. For hundreds of years, villagers have long been accustomed to "communicating" with the rugged terrain with a peaceful mentality. The limitations of natural conditions have inspired the imagination and creativity of the ancestors, thus inadvertently creating a unique "autumn sunning" style painting in China. Hundreds of ancient Hui-style houses in Huangling Ancient Village are arranged in an orderly manner on the slope with a drop of 100 meters. Whenever the sun rises over the mountain, the morning light shines on the weathered earthen brick exterior walls of the Hui-style houses in the entire mountain village, and the colorful harvest fruits on the drying racks and round drying plaques, creating a unique "autumn sunning" agricultural custom landscape in the world and the most beautiful rural symbol.
Tickets are 145 yuan per ticket, including the cable car. The whole scenic area takes about 2-3 hours. The planning of Huangling is quite good, the tour route is very clear, and there is no need to go back and forth. Although it is commercialized, the charges are clearly marked, Alipay and WeChat are supported, and each store is clean and tidy, which makes a good impression.
When we took the cable car up the mountain, we first saw the clouds that had not yet dispersed, like a small fairyland. Although it was a pity that the red leaves had already fallen, the overall scenery was still good.
Getting to know Wuyuan's autumn starts with a picture of Huangling autumn drying! Hundreds of ancient Hui-style houses in Huangling Ancient Village are arranged in an orderly manner on a slope with a drop of 100 meters. Every time the sun rises over the mountain, the morning light shines on the weathered earthen brick exterior walls of the Hui-style houses in the entire mountain village, and the colorful harvest fruits on the drying racks and round drying plaques, creating a unique "autumn drying" agricultural custom landscape in the world and the most beautiful rural symbol.
There are almost no residents in Huangling Ancient Village now. For tourism, a cableway has been built from the bottom of the mountain directly to the ancient village on the mountain. Huangling Ancient Village is surrounded by layers of terraced fields, which should be spectacular in spring when they are full of rape flowers. In autumn, the main thing to see is the scene of every household drying things in the village and some red maples on the edge of the village.
Since the village is built on a mountain, it has a sense of hierarchy. It is spectacular to take pictures from below. The most famous one is the sun drying workshop. There are huge crowds of people, and the scenery is worthy of the crowd. It is just impossible to create well, let alone a tripod. If you can squeeze to the railing, you are already a winner in life! The shooting angle is determined by the position you squeeze in, and it is impossible for you to take pictures left and right. Fortunately, the village of Huangling has been relocated as a whole. You can enter and exit some houses at will. It is not the best shooting point, but you can create slowly! In addition, the entire Huangling Village is also worth visiting. It is very simple and very charming! There are several persimmon trees in the village, which are definitely the best props for posing.
There are a lot of people in Huangling. On the day I went there, almost all I saw were photography enthusiasts carrying two cameras. You must pay attention to your equipment, as there is a high possibility of bumping into each other while walking.
"Huangling Sun Drying Autumn" is the iconic landscape symbol of Huangling in Wuyuan, Jiangxi. Sun Drying Autumn is a typical agricultural custom. Villagers living in mountainous areas in Anhui and Jiangxi have to use the front and back of their houses and their own windowsills and roofs to dry crops due to the complex terrain and very little flat land in the village. Over time, it has evolved into a traditional agricultural custom.
Huangling is a typical mountain village with hundreds of ancient Hui-style houses arranged in an orderly manner on the slope with a height difference of 100 meters. Whenever the sun rises over the mountain, the morning light shines on the weathered earthen brick exterior walls of the Hui-style houses in the entire mountain village, and the colorful harvest fruits on the drying racks and round drying plaques, creating a unique autumn drying agricultural landscape in the world and the most beautiful rural symbol.
In fact, Huangling is not a living ancient village anymore. The villagers have been relocated. The villagers that tourists see every day when they buy tickets to enter are basically "villagers" hired by the scenic spot to check in. All the busy scenes of "villagers" are staged, but it does not prevent everyone from appreciating this cultural landscape. Huangling autumn drying is not exclusive to autumn, it is displayed all year round, but it is more rich and more "charming" in the autumn harvest season.
Huangling usually takes a cable car to the village on the mountain. The ticket + cable car cost a total of 145 yuan. When the cable car is crowded, you have to queue up, and it is common to queue for more than an hour. If you drive by yourself, it is recommended not to park at the Huangling parking lot, but to drive directly up the mountain. The mountain road is more than 5 kilometers long, and the road is narrow and winding. Drive carefully. Park your car at the Xiaolong Visitor Center. From here, you can walk directly into the Huangling Scenic Area in a few minutes. The ticket is 120 yuan, which saves the cable car fee and queue time.
Coming to Huangling in autumn is obviously for the sun drying. Therefore, we chose to go directly to the 3rd and 2nd viewing platforms (the 1st viewing platform is for viewing the thousand-acre terraced fields) through Tianjie, which not only saves energy but also allows us to visit the key scenery of Huangling at the moment - the sun drying.
Looking down from the cable car, the neat rows of new houses are the happy and peaceful homes of Huangling people today. In 2009, in order to develop tourism and protect the ancient village, the entire property rights of Huangling Village were transferred and relocated to Xinjian at the foot of the mountain (except for a few elderly people who did not want to leave), achieving a win-win situation for the villagers, developers and the government.
I have seen the classic scene of drying autumn crops in Huangling many times in the media before. Seeing it with my own eyes and experiencing it on the spot, I was very excited. I took photos with my camera and mobile phone alternately and enjoyed the ultimate beauty of "Drying Autumn Crops in Huangling"!
For generations, the villagers of Huangling have been accustomed to communicating with the rugged mountains where "the ground is not flat for three feet" with a peaceful attitude. They hang long bamboo sticks from the roofs and windows and put bamboo winnowing baskets on them to dry the crops, which not only saves space but also facilitates storage. Whenever you look up, you can see the bamboo sticks and winnowing baskets arranged in an orderly manner, and the drying crops in the winnowing baskets are colorful, like a dance of harvest in the farmhouse, which makes people intoxicated and fascinated.
Nowadays, "Huangling Autumn Drying" has become a fixed custom. In spring, tea leaves and ferns are dried, in summer, eggplants and beans are dried, and in autumn, rice and peppers are dried. As the seasons change, the things dried in the bamboo drying baskets are also constantly renewed. You can take satisfactory photos of autumn drying works in different seasons and different angles. "Huangling Autumn Drying" has made many artists' dreams come true and artists' reputations famous!
We set out from Likeng in the morning and followed the navigation to Huangling Scenic Area. It was still relatively early when we arrived, around 9 o'clock, and there were already a lot of cars and people. Let me say here that we bought the Huangling ticket + cable car for 136 yuan, which we bought online. However, I saw a lot of people queuing for the cable car at the foot of the mountain, so I decided to drive up the mountain. Facts proved that I was right, and we were not allowed to go up the mountain half an hour later.
Sitting on the cable car and looking down, you can see tens of thousands of acres of terraced fields. The green ones are rapeseed seedlings, but unfortunately the rapeseed flowers have not yet bloomed.
Climbing up the mountain road is Tianjie. The nearly 500-meter-long "Tianjie" ancient alley is lined with Hui-style shops, teahouses, wine shops, umbrella shops, bookstores, inkstone shops, and bamboo shops, full of ancient charm.
Further up are the people who dry their crops in the sun during the autumn. Although there is an element of showmanship in the drying of crops in Huangling, the combination of the pink and green tiles and the colorful drying plates is still quite impressive.
Taking photos, strolling, enjoying the scenery, and breathing fresh air are all worth going. I heard that in the spring rapeseed season, cars have to park in Jiangwan, eight kilometers away, and there are not many people enjoying the autumn season. The villagers of Huangling have moved to the foot of the mountain. Most of the people in the village are businessmen and tourists. The houses are said to have been rebuilt. This is a tourist attraction built for tourists, but it is still built like a primitive ancient village. Don't mind, just relax and enjoy the scenery.
Every autumn, villagers dry peppers, wild chrysanthemums, corn, soybeans and other crops on the roofs of houses built against the mountain or on wooden poles outside window railings. This way of drying crops, which has been passed down from generation to generation, coupled with blue sky and white clouds, pink walls and black tiles, bougainvillea and wild flowers all over the mountains, and sparse red maple and persimmon trees, has become a unique landscape that attracts tourists from home and abroad - Huangling Autumn Drying.
When I went to Wuyuan in autumn, I mainly went to enjoy the autumn, so I made some choices in the selection of scenic spots, but Huangling Autumn Drying was the most desirable and I arranged the most time. The driver said that the Huangling Scenic Area has a good experience. At that time, the development company first built sufficient three-story row villas next to the rural road at the foot of the mountain with convenient transportation and close to the farmland of the village, and resettled the original villagers. The relocated population replaced the old houses on the mountain with new houses at the foot of the mountain, so this scenic area was developed with unified planning. The overall management level of the scenic area is high, and the "authenticity" of the ancient village culture is maintained. Maybe using photos to express it is a good proof, but it is better to visit this Huizhou ancient village on the cliff in person and be blinded by the scenes of drying autumn~
The cable car ride takes about ten minutes. The yellow field at the foot of the mountain is the Wuyuan chrysanthemum that you will see along the way. It is also a good time to sell fresh chrysanthemums inside and outside the scenic area. I have been to many small towns and old cities in Europe, and the beauty of Huangling in the autumn sun is special.
Some of the drying platforms are walkable, while others are only for viewing. If you want to take pictures of people, you have to wait until there are fewer people.
The pink walls and black tiles are arranged in an orderly manner, and the red peppers, yellow corns, white beans, and golden chrysanthemums... are stunning in the autumn! People who love photography are simply like falling into a rice jar when they come here, at least this is the case with me and my friend, haha.
Huangling is really beautiful, and taking photos there feels a bit like cheating.
Finally, we arrived at Leixin Bridge. We didn't plan well, and when we saw that the bridge deck was made of plastic, we thought we were cheated, so we took photos at the bridge head and went back. In fact, the glass bridge section is in the middle of the bridge! What a pity!
The night view of Huangling didn’t amaze me, but on the way back to the B&B, I saw the starry sky that I hadn’t seen in more than ten years. The sky was full of stars, and my bestie and I were so happy!
If Wuyuan is known as "the most beautiful village in China", then Huangling must be the heart of the place. In spring, there are rapeseed fields all over the mountains. In autumn, there are lively autumn sunning and red leaves. The red leaves against the backdrop of the quaint buildings bring a different kind of vitality to Huangling before winter. The white-walled and black-tiled Hui-style buildings add an antique texture to the place.
It used to be a natural village on the mountain, but it was later renovated by the local government. Now it is a scenic spot, and you need to buy tickets, including the cable car ticket to go up the mountain. Of course, you can drive to the middle of the mountain, and then climb a distance by yourself. But people usually buy a combined ticket and go up the mountain. There are many small inns on Huangling, and you don't need to pay for tickets to stay in the inns.
Huangling can be said to be the most beautiful place in Wuyuan, Wuyuan Xiaoyaoyou Co., Ltd.-Li Guiqing recommends it to you.
Huangling:
Huangling Ancient Village, hanging on the cliff, is a typical mountain village and one of the scenic spots on the east line of Wuyuan, 39 kilometers away from Wuyuan County. --Huangling tourism is not affected by seasons. You can see the rapeseed flowers in spring, play in the canyon and stream in summer, enjoy the ancient village in autumn, and enjoy folk customs in winter. --This place is famous for "sunning autumn". Every year, the front and back of the house become a world of bamboo drying boards at the turn of summer and autumn. Long wooden frames hold up round drying boards, and dry tea and bracken in spring; and red peppers, rice, etc. in autumn.
At 2 pm, we went to Huangling (145/person, student ticket 120/person, including tickets and cableway, there are also several other tickets to choose from~ You can also hike up the mountain for about 1 hour), it was drizzling... There are many things about Huangling's attractions on the Internet, so I won't repeat them~ It's a pity that I didn't see the autumn sun drying in the rain, but I saw obvious mountain fog! The attractions in Huangling are all circular, and there is no need to worry about forks in the road because they will all go around and come back in the end. The Hui-style buildings are quaint and have a strong folk customs. It is still very interesting to stroll around with an umbrella. I saw a lot of colorful small flower baskets and very warm and soft shops. I walked all the way from the cableway entrance, narrow streets, high and low houses on both sides, and all kinds of business. I bought some sesame cakes (30/bag), fried dough twists (20/bag), and rice milk (12/cup) along the way. Many people are concentrated in the area of drying autumn leaves. In fact, when we go back and reach the second fork, there are fewer people. But it may be because there are fewer people in the afternoon. We first went straight to the strange house, and we stopped and walked on the way to see many attractions. The brush in the academy can write ink by dipping it in water! There are also many interesting shops. The things in the food street do not have a big local feature, and they feel quite ordinary. Continue to walk forward and you will reach the fork of Woyun Bridge. At this time, there are basically no people. We walked from the upper road (because we met a security guard who said it was easier to walk up and down), and the lower road was a zip line. The upper road passed through the high-altitude plank road, and there was a section of transparent glass in the middle! Walking along it all the way, you can reach the No. 2 viewing platform and see the panoramic view of the terraced fields. Continue to walk to Woyun Bridge. There are several red leaf trees on the road, which look very beautiful with dew. After that, we took a zip line (50/person) and slid for a while. It was very comfortable to feel the wind blowing across the terraced fields! I saw many photography enthusiasts taking pictures along the way. We were the only two people walking and stopping halfway. We were looking for the delicious rice wine and steamed cakes mentioned online. Steamed cakes are on the first floor of Yixin Building (a wedding room with two floors, very beautiful in red~). There is a very small table and an old lady selling them. This is the only one. Don't miss it! We thought the stall was too small and thought there would be a big store selling them in the food street behind. But there wasn't any. We walked around and didn't go back. Yixin Building was a little far away so we didn't go there.
You can stay in Huangling the night before like we did, so that you can enter the park as soon as possible the next morning. Otherwise, when the tourist army arrives, you will have to queue up for the cable car and the like. There will be more and more people in the park, and the sightseeing experience will not be particularly good. To go to Huangling, you have to go up the mountain. The ticket plus the cable car costs 140 yuan, and the discount ticket (such as our college students) is 120 yuan. Our time was a little special. We were stopped by an older sister at the entrance of the scenic area. She said that her husband could drive up the mountain. A car cost 100 yuan round trip. There were four of us, and the average cost was 25 yuan per person. After going up the mountain, we bought separate tickets for 60 yuan, which was more cost-effective. There should be a lot of people soliciting customers at the entrance of the scenic area. You can decide based on the actual number of people and the type of ticket you buy. Some maple leaves on the mountain have turned red. The red maple leaves scattered on the stone road add a sense of tranquility and beauty to this country road. The Huangling Scenic Area is relatively large. It is recommended to play for most of the day and walk along the stone road. You can see a magnificent building. It turned out to be the local [wedding room] in the past. No wonder it is decorated so prosperously. Then we came to [Tianjie], which is the main road of Huangling. It is called Tianjie, but it is actually a food street with many small shops. You can try the local specialties here. Of course, the prices are relatively expensive. The windows here are also very uniquely designed, with a strong ancient style and very elegant. We entered the scenic area at about 9 o'clock in the morning and stayed there for more than 4 hours. We came out of the park at a little after 1 or 2 o'clock.
Wuyuan is a special place. What people talk about most is the so-called "drying autumn crops". Every household in the area takes out boxes of peppers, chrysanthemums, and medicinal herbs to dry outside every day. Then, standing on a high place, you can see a colorful scene with layers of terraced fields in the distance. This is how CCTV's most beautiful villages came about. But the problem is that after the development of this scenic spot, the villagers moved away, or opened homestays and started catering. Now, no one is farming, and no one is drying things. The large area of colorful crops disappeared instantly. The photos of young ladies drying autumn crops you see on the Internet are actually taken at one or two scenic spots, with only one or two square meters of drying autumn crops area.
But it is not fair to Wuyuan to single out the sun drying in autumn. There are many beautiful places in Wuyuan. For example, there are many places to take great photos, such as the check-in points on the China map, the rockery and green water, the terraced fields, the glass suspension bridge, etc. So, overall, it is still highly recommended, with a playability index of more than 4.5 stars, although the sun drying in autumn is discounted, which is a little regrettable.
Huangling is an ancient village from the Ming and Qing Dynasties hanging on a cliff, famous for its "autumn sunning" farming custom. The Hui-style houses with white walls and black tiles are built on the mountain. Bamboo plaques and square sieves are hung under the eaves. Red peppers, golden chrysanthemums and brown tiles and white walls form a colorful three-dimensional picture scroll. You can take "autumn sunning" photos in all seasons. In spring, you can enjoy the sea of rapeseed flowers in terraced fields, and in autumn, you can watch the red leaves all over the mountains. The Leixin Bridge glass plank road overlooks the misty mountains and countryside. The village retains special attractions such as the upside-down strange house and Wuxian Temple. The cable car goes directly to the scenic area. It is recommended to arrange half a day to stroll along the stone steps of Tianjie to feel the tranquility and poetry of traveling through time and space.
You don't have to go when the rape flowers are in bloom or in the autumn to dry the sun. It looks beautiful at ordinary times, and there will be fewer people. The Hui style of architecture is beautiful.
Huangling is a scenic spot located in Jiangwan Town, Wuyuan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, 39 kilometers away from Wuyuan County and about 9 kilometers away from the Jiangwan Expressway Exit. Huangling Village was built in the middle of the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 500 years. After opening for trial operation in 2014, Huangling Scenic Area is famous for its rapeseed terraces in spring and "sunning autumn" in autumn. The scenic area covers an area of 15 square kilometers.
Huangling Village adopted a relocation model, moving local residents to the new village at the foot of the mountain, while the ancient village on the mountain was developed into a scenic spot. Today, Huangling is divided into the new village at the foot of the mountain and the ancient village on the mountain. The foot of the mountain is a residential area with a beautiful environment and convenient transportation, while the ancient village on the mountain has been developed into a scenic spot, with Huangling autumn sunning, terraced flower fields, mountain villages and ancient Hui-style buildings as its main features.
In addition to the natural beauty of the scenic area, Huangling also has many tourist experience projects, such as the Ice and Snow Museum, Terraced Field Zipline, Adventure Forest and Slide Rafting, etc. In addition, Huangling has been rated as the venue for the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival, and holds the Autumn Festival and various folk activities such as Nuo Dance and Dragon Lantern Dance every year, showing the rich local cultural heritage.
Huangling Scenic Area is known as one of the most beautiful villages in China, attracting a large number of tourists to visit and appreciate. At the same time, there are commercial and entertainment districts such as Flower Town and Huaxi Water Street in the scenic area, providing a variety of food and leisure experiences, such as water mist devices, stone mills and water pestles.

The scenic area is composed of tourist areas such as cableway aerial sightseeing, village street visiting ancient sites, terraced flower sea exploration, and rural customs and folk customs.

Huangling Ancient Village is located at the top of the mountain. You need to take a cable car to get there (Huangling adult ticket + cable car, 145 yuan/person). The autumn here is also beautiful, with Huangling autumn sunning, the sea of chrysanthemums, and the autumn colors of the terraced fields. The night view is amazing. After taking the cable car to the top of the mountain, there are two places to play: the ancient village sightseeing area and the terraced field viewing area. (1) The ancient village sightseeing area: is where the autumn sunning is done. (2) The terraced field viewing area: rapeseed flowers in spring, chrysanthemums in autumn, and the sea of flowers.
The place for drying crops in the sun is in the ancient village tourist area. Due to the terrain restrictions, the houses in the village are arranged at different heights and built in a staggered manner. Surrounding them are towering ancient trees. Villagers use bamboo plaques to dry their crops on wooden racks in front of their windows, forming a unique "drying crops" landscape with red and yellow colors competing for beauty.
Two suspension bridges, one large (Leixin Bridge) and one small (Woyun Suspension Bridge), are built in the mountains of the terraced fields. The mountains are densely covered with terraces. Start from Observation Deck No. 1, walk across Leixin Bridge, pass Observation Deck No. 2, Woyun Suspension Bridge (small bridge), Observation Deck No. 3, and finally return to the ancient village. On the way, you can see the panoramic view of Huangling Village, the chrysanthemum fields, the colorful flower fields, and the autumn scenery in the mountains.
The ticket to Huangling is not included in the Wuyuan Pass and needs to be purchased separately, but its scenic spots are one of the most beautiful in Wuyuan. If you come to Wuyuan for tourism, you must not miss it.
Because Huangling is on the mountain, the rape flowers bloom later than Jiangling.
The tourist area of Huangling can be roughly divided into two areas. The first is the terraced flower sea, and the second is the ancient building complex.
When visiting Huangling, you can first visit the terraced fields, then have a meal and rest, and then visit the ancient buildings. Among the ancient buildings, you need to focus on visiting the "Sunning Workshop" and "Wugui Hall" and other buildings (all concentrated in a small area, easy to find)
My travel notes: Go! Let’s go to Wuyuan to enjoy the flowers! http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/21627673.html
This village located on the mountain has been around for 500 years. The old houses are fan-shaped and spread all over the southern foot of the mountain. They are stacked layer by layer, scattered and orderly. Each house has the best sunlight and its own scenery. Our guest rooms are in these houses. Now there are no aboriginal residents in the whole Huangling. When it was developed in 2009, the villagers were arranged to live in new houses at the foot of the mountain. The scenic area is managed by a unified company, and all the houses have been transformed into shops or guest rooms. In my opinion, this transformation based on the original foundation is very successful.
There are also two suspension bridges across the valley on the ridge. The taller one is called Lei Xin Bridge, which has a glass floor several dozen meters long. Of course, this thing is a bit common in China now, but the advantage of this bridge is that it is high enough and completely free, so it is not bad to come and see it.
Another thing that impressed me deeply in Huangling was the trees here. Every time I go to a place, I pay close attention to the local trees. The various vibrant trees always arouse my sincere admiration. The trees in Huangling are also like this. They are so beautiful, lush and green, with luxuriant branches and leaves. There are many ancient trees that are hundreds of years old. One of them is said to be 1,200 years old. In addition, more than 70 yew trees, an ancient tree species known as the "giant panda of plants", have been found in Huangling.
The autumn sun drying in Huangling was originally to solve the problem of insufficient land, and crops were dried on the eaves, but now it seems to have become an ornamental activity regardless of the season. Autumn is the best time to take photos of the sun drying in Huangling. If you want to take photos of the sun drying in Huangling, you should go to those small windows. The most recommended one is the sun drying workshop. It is a three-story residential building and an excellent viewing platform for a bird's eye view of the autumn colors of the village. The third floor is also known as one of the best photography spots, and the first floor is more suitable for portrait photography.
Hundreds of ancient Hui-style houses in Huangling Ancient Village are scattered and orderly on the slope with a drop of 100 meters.
Huangling is located in a mountainous area with little flat land in the village. In the past, the villagers showed their collective wisdom by making full use of the limited space in front of and behind the house and on their windowsills and roofs to hang and dry the autumn harvested crops in preparation for the winter. Over time, this has evolved into a traditional agricultural custom with typical regional characteristics, which is what people call "drying crops in autumn". Of course, after the development of the scenic area, the original villagers moved down the mountain. "Drying crops in autumn" is no longer exclusive to autumn, but is displayed all year round. Now it is more of a golden signboard for local tourism and has been preserved.
The limitations of natural conditions inspired the imagination and creativity of our ancestors, and thus inadvertently created a unique "autumn sun drying" landscape painting in China.
After parking, check in and buy tickets (120/person) at the special counter of the visitor center. The cable car fee is waived for accommodation, and there is no need to queue for the cable car. Residents can take the cable car as many times as they want before checking out. (But we didn't take it. The cable car time is 7:30-17:30). After the cable car goes up the mountain, a special concierge car will take you to the front desk. We drove up the mountain. Turn right at the first security booth on the right hand side of the visitor center. You will see the hotel sign. About 1 kilometer away, there will be security guards to check the tickets and release the vehicles going up the mountain. You must have a hotel check-in form and ticket to drive up the mountain. (It is said that you can also drive up the mountain secretly before 7 am, before the staff go to work.)
For details, please see the travel notes (Huangling section): http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/17527993.html
There are two ticket offices at the foot of the mountain in Huangling Scenic Area. I won't talk about the foot of the mountain. The ticket office on the mountain is closed on weekends. Self-driving tourists can drive up on weekdays. I came here once a few years ago. During the National Day this year, the original convenient ticket office was demolished. They circled around the farmhouses and took you to the middle of the ropeway to buy tickets. The ticket price includes the ropeway round trip of 145 yuan, and does not include 120 yuan. It is 25 yuan more expensive to add the ropeway than not to add the ropeway. It feels like forced consumption and forced sale of ropeway tickets. It feels very bad. It was 60 yuan without the ropeway before. Although prices are rising and doubling, it is really expensive to visit a village for 120 yuan. Moreover, it is the autumn sun-drying season. Except for the places where the camera must reach, many houses have nothing on the roof to dry. There are only houses and poles. The shops are very neatly opened. If you haven't come before, it's okay. This comparison makes a huge difference.
Huangling is an ancient Huizhou village with a history of nearly 600 years located in the northeast of Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province. This small mountain village has a typical Huizhou ancient village pattern, preserving the original Huizhou architectural complex. The scattered mountain houses are densely arranged in a fan-shaped ladder around the water outlet. The autumn here is so charming!
There are different scenery in all seasons. I feel that spring and autumn are the most beautiful. It was too hot when I came here during the summer vacation, but it was also nice. Next time, I will choose spring to see the rape flowers! Here, you can stay for half a day and then stay overnight. The B&B I stayed in this time was very good. It was just outside the scenic area and you could walk into the scenic area. The owner was a photographer of the scenic area and shared a lot of beautiful pictures with me! Great!
The attractions not included in the Wuyuan pass are naturally worth highlighting. Whether it is the autumn sun drying in the first half or the terraced flower sea in the second half, they are all of conscientious quality. The Tianjie dining location in the middle is also very well designed. The glass floor of the Leixin Bridge is also a surprise. It feels worth the ticket price. It provides a better choice for tourists coming to Wuyuan when it is not the rapeseed flower season.
It is undeniable that Huangling Village has become commercialized. Most of the original residents have moved away, and those who remain are engaged in various tourism businesses.
However, the complete village layout built on the mountain and a large number of residential buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties are still the most representative among the villages in Wuyuan.
Although drying autumn leaves may seem like catering to tourists, it is not easy to stick to it all year round.
Worth spending half a day visiting.
I went there during the National Day in 2014, and the scenic spot had just been developed.
The autumn sun drying in Huangling is a classic perspective for everyone who goes there to take photos. Because of its remote location, it is relatively well preserved.
No matter how good you look at it in photos, it’s better to experience it in autumn.
Huangling is a small village full of flowers, and the small details on both sides of the stone road are very delicate. Unlike villages like Likeng that still have residents, Huangling no longer has indigenous residents. Only hotel guests and staff are here at night. Although it lacks a bit of human touch, it is also more clean and comfortable. Huangling is most famous for drying autumn leaves, but of course, Huangling is not only about drying autumn leaves. Every door eaves and every window are full of scenery. The houses are scattered among the green mountains. As dusk approaches, the birds returning to their nests become more and more noisy. The clouds and fog are getting heavier, as if a thick layer of snow and frost is applied to the surroundings, and the distant mountains and villages slowly dim together.
In addition to Tianjie Town, the Leixin Bridge in Huangling and the spectacular terraced fields below are also worth a visit. In general, Huangling is a fairly mature and complete tourist attraction, suitable for spending a night to carefully experience every detail inside.
The 500-year-old Tiyun Ancient Village, with 500-meter-long Tianjie lined with Hui-style shops and hundreds of Ming and Qing Dynasty ancient buildings, is like a painting of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There is a unique autumn sun-drying landscape here, and the rich folk culture is a self-contained system. The surrounding thousands of acres of terraced fields and four-season flower fields show the art of the earth. The idyllic mountain scenery is like a paradise.
The rape flowers in Huangling are beautiful! The autumn in Huangling will be even more beautiful! The scenery of drying autumn flowers is spectacular! It is worth going.
Huangling is the most authentic place for this autumn sun drying trip!
It is not a place that is heavily commercialized, and is suitable for casual strolls and stops. The autumn sun drying is very unique, and the surrounding areas are still primitive farmhouses.
Huangling Village is not big, but it is very unique. It may be a government action. When we went there, it was winter and there were also people drying autumn leaves.
It's smaller than expected. I took the cable car up there. It doesn't feel like a flower town in the summer.
I just went there with my friends on the 4th and 5th. The terraced fields are already green after the flowering period. There is only a small terraced field outside the scenic area with rape flowers, which can only be seen on the cable car. However, Huangling is still very good, and the small villages inside have good scenery. It will be more beautiful if there are fewer people.
When you go to a place, it is certainly important to see the seller's show, but the objective and realistic ones are often given by the buyer's show, so I hope that when you go there, you will first look at the bad reviews and then the good reviews.
The rape flowers had all withered when I came, but I was not disappointed. The ancient trees, food, terrain, and cultural architectural landscapes here are rich and colorful and perfectly integrated. There were many people and we left in a hurry. There is plenty of time, so I must savor it carefully.
Don't come here. You can't see large areas of rapeseed flowers. There are only a few left. There is no autumn drying. It is highly commercialized. It is full of people during the Qingming Festival. The ticket + cable car is 145 yuan. The whole trip is just for this to see a promotional picture
Wuyuan’s number one scenic spot is so beautiful that it is beyond words. Compared with other primitive ancient villages, it has been commercialized, but the layout is quite charming!
The rapeseed flowers in Huangling are terraced, which is very unique. The tour route is also planned relatively completely, so you won't get lost while walking.
The unique "drying autumn fruits" in Huangling Ancient Village, Wuyuan is particularly special. The rape flowers surrounded by thousands of acres of terraced fields are also particularly brilliant. The "Heavenly Street" in the village is like a jade belt connecting classic ancient buildings, with Anhui-style shops standing in rows, and a shop in front and a workshop in the back, like a flowing abbreviated version of "Along the River During the Qingming Festival"
On March 28, 2019, rape flowers were in full bloom in Huangling, and the Hui-style buildings in the rain were full of spring.
The scenery is beautiful, especially the houses in the ancient village. But it is crowded and not easy to take pictures.
The ancient town and the rapeseed flowers are each a scene in their own right. The two lines are interconnected. Even if you just want to take a quick tour of the whole place, it will not take less than three hours. Both cable cars can go up and down, so the tour takes at least half a day. It is best to travel early during the peak season because there are so many people lining up for the cable car!
There are too many people. I went to the scenic spot on the afternoon of March 22 this year. The rape flowers in the scenic area have already shown signs of decline. They are far inferior to Jiangling.
This attraction is too commercial and full of people. It's boring.
It took me an hour to finish playing.
Terraced fields of flowers, strange houses, great scenery, and great people.
I want to give Huangling a big thumbs up! It is definitely a surprise. I have seen many ancient towns, in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Shanxi, and Yunnan. Huangling is the best one I have seen so far. It can bring you back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is worth a visit!
I didn't buy a ticket. I drove to the highest point of Huangling by accident and saw the beautiful rapeseed terraces. It was not a loss even if I bought a ticket. The cable car time was very long. The ticket price of 140 yuan was still very suitable.
It was raining when I went there☔️Now it has been completely commercialized... The increase in the number of tourists has also forced the scenic spot to be commercialized. It no longer has the original feeling. Even in the off-season, there are super many people, not to mention taking pictures... You can imagine the number of people on sunny days. It's just so-so.
The rapeseed flowers are still very beautiful, and you can go there to dry them in the autumn almost any time now, but the old problem remains: there are too many people during the peak season.
We took the cable car and slowly went up to the top of the mountain. There were villagers working in the fields on the hillside. When we reached the top of the mountain, the air was fresh and everything was green. Since we were the first to enter the scenic area, there were only three of us in the huge scenic area, and we felt very happy that we had booked the whole place.
Taking the cable car from Huangling New Village to Huangling Village Scenic Area, there was drizzle in the sky, casting a mysterious veil over Huangling.
The ancient villages of Huangling have well-arranged Hui-style buildings. The thousands of acres of rapeseed flowers outside the village are so beautiful that you can't help but linger. Huangling is almost a concentrated version of Wuyuan's landscape, and half a day's visit is too short!
It's ok, but the rape flowers had already withered when we went there. You must come here when the rape flowers are in bloom, it must be beautiful!
Huangling is a paradise for photography enthusiasts. I will go there again if I have the chance.
In autumn, you can see maple leaves and sunbathe, and in spring, rape flowers bloom all over the terraces. It is really beautiful. The most beautiful ancient village in China is really worthy of its reputation.
It's a must-visit place in Wuyuan. Although I didn't catch the autumn sun drying, it's great just to visit.
The people who used to dry the sun in the sun have now developed it into a scenic spot where people dry the sun all year round. I heard that people who dry the sun in the sun are paid now. You can also play zipline in the scenic spot.
The scenery of Huangling in Wuyuan is certainly beautiful, but the bustling crowds are like the Taishan after the Spring Festival, which is always a bit scary. With the transformation of the countryside into a scenic spot, people can also see the beauty of drying autumn leaves on rainy days, but it seems to be less leisurely and more deliberate. Is it fortunate or unfortunate? I don't know.
The artificially staged autumn sunning looks a bit fake, and has lost its original folk characteristics. There are no residents on the mountain anymore, and it has all been transformed into a hotel. It can no longer be regarded as a village, but just a tourist attraction with admission fees! However, the photos taken are still quite photogenic, the terraced fields are also good, and the scenery is really beautiful! Those who like taking photos can go, but there are more people!
I was attracted by a travelogue last year, and I was attracted to it again this year. I have also seen the autumn sun drying, and I like the old house more.
I went there in the best season for rapeseed flowers. I personally think it is the best attraction in Wuyuan, so it is not included in the package. Because I stayed in the mountains and my car was also on the mountain, I didn't take the cable car. The scenery is beautiful, with rapeseed flowers, people drying autumn crops (because it is not in season, there are only a few symbolic ones), and various snacks. I recommend eating at "Tianjie Restaurant". The price is not expensive, the taste is average, but the scenery is great. The photo of the back view was taken in the restaurant. It is best to sit by the window and drink tea in the afternoon.
