Northeast China's largest natural cave is divided into two parts: a dry cave and a water cave. Walking to the end of the dry cave will lead you to the water cave. You'll wait in line for a boat ride for about half an hour. Inside the cave, you'll be able to admire the magnificent stones of various colors. Transportation: Take the Xiaoshi bus directly to Benxi Dongfen Bus Station.

The last time I came to Benxi Water Cave was 18 years ago!

After entering the cave, I felt that it was a different world, like a dream. Every time I was amazed by the wonders of nature!

Natural caves are nature’s most magical and sacred gift to mankind!

In the past, Yang Guo and Xiaolongnu lived here!

Suddenly I remembered the lyrics of my childhood song:

The country is so beautiful,

Heroes have always been popular since ancient times.

All the troubles are just for the slightest shame of beauty!

Give me a glass of wine,

When will the beacon fires cease?

After drinking this cup, everything starts over again!

Let's talk about buying tickets first. There's a ticket office at the scenic area, and there are indeed plenty of parking spaces. However, buying at the ticket office means you might be further away from the entrance of the Benxi Water Cave Scenic Area. Also, consider where you park. If you have plenty of time and it's not crowded, you can just stroll through the area. The second option is to park your car and queue directly at the entrance. There are many QR codes for online ticket purchases along the way and in the queue area, allowing you to buy tickets at any time. There's no price selection, and there's no half-price discount for seniors. It just saves you the time of going back and forth when it's crowded. In short, buy tickets at the ticket window during off-season and take your time to stroll around. The environment is nice, but during peak season, it's up to you.

The temperature inside is low, so you will be given free cotton clothes. It is recommended that you wear them as you may get splashed with water while on the boat.

The drive through takes about 20 minutes, including the round trip. On either side are various stalactite formations, each with its own name. Above, countless cavernous undulations and unique rock formations of varying shapes and shapes can be seen. The entire cave, illuminated by the changing colors of the lights, is a dazzling spectacle, a dazzling spectacle that leaves you wanting more. Fortunately, the wait was worth it. (It would be even more worthwhile if you can visit during the off-season when there are fewer people!)

Visiting order: Dry Cave - Water Cave - Geological Museum - Petrified Wood and Stone Forest Garden.

After passing through the dry cave, you'll reach the water cave. This cave is large, long, and deep, requiring a boat trip to fully explore. Once on board, you'll sail through the water, where the stalagmites in the cave are remarkably diverse, vividly depicting people and animals. Combined with vibrant lighting, they create a wondrous, spectacular spectacle of nature and light. The boat returns to the turning point, allowing you to admire the many unique stalactites once more.

At the entrance to the cave is a "reception hall" that is more than 20 meters high and wide, majestic and can accommodate a thousand people.

To the right of the hall is a 300-meter-long dry cave, with caves within caves, winding and confusing, each with its own unique world. A short distance further ahead is a pier where visitors can put on life jackets and take a boat tour of the water cave.

The water cave is 5,800 meters long, with 2,800 meters currently developed. It covers an area of 36,000 square meters and boasts a volume of over 400,000 cubic meters. Its widest point is 38 meters high and 70 meters wide. The cave boasts unobstructed air flow and a constant water flow year-round. The average depth is 1.5 meters, with a maximum depth of 7 meters. The temperature remains constant at 12°C year-round. Benxi Water Cave is divided into three sections: "Three Gorges," "Seven Palaces," and "Nine Bends," hence the name "Nine-Bend Milky Way." Enter the cave by boat and slowly follow the winding river, which alternates between wide and narrow, twisting and turning, as if entering a paradise. The crystal-clear water reveals picturesque stalactites and stalagmites lining its banks. Under the light, the formations resemble long swords, leaning towers, groups of monkeys, and even single-horned rhinoceroses, creating a myriad of bizarre and fascinating sights.

When visiting other caves in the past, people stopped and walked frequently, making it difficult to manage time. Here, it is very easy to manage time. The boats do not stop during the journey to allow tourists to enjoy the scenery. The speed of all the boats is almost the same, with some being faster or slower, and the total tour time is basically 40 minutes.

Benxi Water Cave is the longest water-filled cave discovered in the world so far. It is quite famous. The various stalactites in the cave are amazing and under the colorful lights, it is beautiful. Let me introduce it to you:

1. From Benxi Bus Station, you can take a bus to Xiaoshi and get off at Benxi Shuidong Station. The fare is 10 yuan and the bus runs every 10 minutes. You can also take a shared taxi at Benxi Railway Station for 20 yuan and the journey takes about 40 minutes.

2. The water cave is open year-round, and the best time to visit is from August to October. The ticket price is 140 yuan, half price with a student ID. The package includes the water cave, dry cave, geological museum, petrified wood park, and battery car.

3. The tour usually starts from the Dry Cave, then the Water Cave, then the Geological Museum, and finally the Petrified Wood Park. Free battery cars are available between the various attractions.

4. The dry cave is short, dark, and low, and it takes more than ten minutes to walk through it. Padded clothes are provided free of charge at the exit. You can take a boat tour to enjoy the scenery of the water cave. The boat ride takes more than 20 minutes. The water cave is relatively cold, and the boat is moving fast, often splashing water. Friends who like taking pictures must protect their mobile phones and cameras;

5. The various rare stones and treasures in the Geological Museum are amazing. The Petrified Wood Park is mainly composed of scenery and amusement facilities, as well as transvestite performances and videos explaining the extinction of dinosaurs. It takes about 3 hours to visit the entire scenic area.

6. Because there is plenty of time, interested friends can also try rafting on the Taizi River, or go to nearby scenic spots such as Guanmen Mountain, Tiesha Mountain, and Tanggou to play.

Parking cost 20 yuan. It was drizzling. I bought a ticket for 120 yuan each. I didn’t buy a ticket for the electric car. I walked along the lake in the rain to the entrance of the water cave scenic area.

We should do everything early. When we arrived at the destination, there were not many people there. We kept taking pictures. After a while, a large number of tourists arrived.

When entering the cave, you first pass through the dry cave, which is cool.

The dry cave is a short journey, which means we make a small circle to enter the water cave. We put on cotton clothes and get on the boat to start a half-hour tour. You all know about water caves. The stalactites are in various shapes and forms, which give it nice names.

After exiting the water cave, there is a lake. Walk along the lakeside and you will reach the Benxi Branch of the China Geological Museum. You will see various fossils, including dinosaur eggs and dinosaur fossils.

The scenic spot ranked first is indeed unique, and the boat trip to the water cave is great!

The water cave landscape is very unique, the magic of nature, the stalactites are super shocking, but the colorful lights inside affect the beauty

As a native of Benxi, I remember that I first came to the water cave when I was eight years old. After that, I came here almost every year. My mother said that the ticket price was 8 cents at the beginning and now it is 100+. Maybe I have seen too much. I brought my baby here again in 2018 for the purpose of taking a boat. I suggest that friends who come from afar have a grilled fish for lunch. It is really delicious.

I rushed to the Benxi Water Cave during the National Day holiday. There were not many people there the whole time. The main purpose was to see the stalactites in the cave. It was a bit cold inside the cave, and there was a section where you had to take a boat, so you had to keep warm.

By Gu Nian Blue and White Porcelain Cardo |

Benxi Water Cave is great and is worth a visit regardless of the season. It is comparable to the Dragon Palace Scenic Area in Guizhou, but the stalactites in Dragon Palace are still growing while those in Benxi are not.

By ~ |

The main attraction of the scenic area is the water cave, which is a masterpiece of nature. The only problem is that the scenic spot is a bit small, and other attractions besides the water cave are relatively ordinary.

By leliawl |

Benxi Water Cave is a rare underground river in the world that can be visited by boat. It stretches 5,800 meters, with 2,800 meters currently explored. The area comprises the Benxi Water Cave, the Geological Museum, the Petrified Wood and Stone Forest, and the Water Park. You can purchase a package ticket (including a ride on a battery-powered car).

The water cave itself had nothing to do with me, and I was only amazed by the long underground river! The cave is divided into a dry cave and a water cave. There is nothing much to see in the dry cave, except for some man-made dinosaur and other animal shapes. The water cave is right outside the dry cave. It takes nearly half an hour to take a boat tour and return by the same route. The temperature in the cave is a constant 12 degrees Celsius, and there are free cotton coats available at the door.

Beautiful Cave Man

I've never really liked caves. After much deliberation, I figured it might be that my father, Chen, wanted to give me a single name, "Tong," a play on the Shanghainese word for "prodigy." Then, feeling the pressure, I rushed out of my body before my due date. Ever since, I've lost interest in caves. I've actually visited quite a few caves while traveling around China, but the more I go, the more they all seem the same. Black out, and they're all stalactites. Turn on the lights, and they're all paradise. By comparison, the Benxi Water Cave is quite special. It was so cold I shivered. I only used the word "freezing" once.

The scenic area consists of a dry cave, a water cave, a geological museum, and the Petrified Wood Kingdom. The path leading from the ticket office to the water cave features beautiful natural landscapes such as an artificial lake and a forest, perfect for taking photos. Upon reaching the water cave, walk to the right to reach the dry cave. First, exit through the dry cave, and you'll find the water cave. The dry cave is low and dark, illuminated by colorful lights and featuring artificial sculptures of dinosaurs and other animals. While nothing special, it's still quite attractive. The water cave is accessible from the dry cave. The water cave is a large, water-filled karst cave formed hundreds of thousands of years ago, so you'll need to take a speedboat. It's very cold inside, so even in summer, you should wear a cotton coat. The scenic area provides cotton coats. [It's recommended to wear cotton coats on the boat, as the water cave can sometimes drip and get your clothes wet.] The boat ride takes about 40 minutes. Currently, only a small portion of the water cave is open to the public; the rest is not accessible due to the terrain. Sitting on the boat, you can see the crystal clear underground river water, the naturally formed stalactites of various shapes on both sides, and the various lights. It is very beautiful. The boat will turn around and come back when it reaches the bottom, so if you didn’t see it clearly before, you can have a chance to go again.

By Big bowl of paste |

Upon entering the cave, we first walked around the dry cave, which wasn't very interesting. Finally, we circled back and took a boat into the water cave. The water cave is a large limestone cave formed millions of years ago. Inside, a 3,000-meter-long underground river flows year-round.

The lava landforms are truly amazing, but the light was dim so I could only take a few pictures. The water cave area is not big, and the highlight is the boat ride which takes about 20 minutes. It is worth a visit, and you can finish the tour in an hour without queuing.

By Meng Yaya |

After queuing for 2 hours and visiting for 20 minutes, I have the idea that I will never come out during the Golden Week again. The water cave is not as good as before and the lights are less, but it is still spectacular. It is very cold inside and you need to wear a cotton jacket. The other two small attractions are just for viewing, there is nothing special.

By Martian User |

The worst 5A scenic spot in history, there is no need to come. There is nothing to see in the cave, especially the dry cave, which is extremely boring, and the water cave is generally boring, not worth the ticket price!!!

By Literary Black Cat |

Benxi Water Cave is a 5A-rated scenic spot and one of the most famous karst caves in northern China. Tickets to the Benxi Water Cave are quite expensive, costing over 100 yuan. However, the scenery and lighting inside the cave are truly stunning. Benxi Water Cave consists of a dry cave and a water cave. The dry cave is somewhat unremarkable, but the water cave is spectacular. It takes an hour-long boat ride to see the water cave, and only a small portion of it is currently open to the public. Therefore, the Benxi Water Cave is truly a major attraction for Benxi tourism.

This is my first time writing a review. Please forgive me if there are any shortcomings. If there are any inconsistencies, please send me a private message and I will make appropriate corrections. If you have any questions, please send me a private message. I hope I can help you. 🙏 Summarize some tips

1. WeChat QR code scanning self-service service does not accept discount fares for senior citizens, students, military personnel, etc., and does not accept single water cave tickets. You must go to the ticket office to apply. (Adults: 110, students: 55)

2. You can buy tickets for the water cave alone. It is not recommended to buy tickets for other attractions as they are not worth visiting. There is no need to buy tickets for the electric car. The walk between attractions takes no more than ten minutes.

3. During the National Day Golden Week, which is the peak tourist season, there will be many tourists. It is recommended to arrive early. The air is very stuffy while queuing, so it is recommended to wear a mask.

4. You can hire a tour guide at your own expense. I think it is not necessary. The master drives the boat slowly. You can clearly see the name of each attraction and understand it yourself, leaving more room for your imagination.

5. My photos don't look like the ones online. (I heard those really good photos were taken by the scenic spot after they re-lit them for publicity. I heard, I heard, maybe my photography skills are just not good enough.)

6. !!!! You must wear thick clothes. You can bring your own. There are cotton coats (free of charge) distributed at the entrance of the water cave. They are a bit dirty. You can wear one and put on another. It is very cold in the water cave.

7. It is recommended to sit in the first row, as the view is particularly good. The seats in the middle are more likely to be splashed with water on both sides.

8. Complaints... The restroom next to the restaurant in the scenic area, in the building, is extremely dirty! I don't understand why the public facilities are not up to par when the ticket price is so high.

9. There is a store selling Guanmen Mountain tickets next to the water cave ticket office, but they only sell adult tickets, which are five yuan cheaper each. I don't recommend buying them. After buying them, you can't exchange tickets at the designated window as they said, and you don't have to queue up. All windows sell individual tickets, and you have to queue up again.

10. Parking fee for small cars is 20 yuan per time.

A very pleasant trip to Benxi for a family of three. The natural scenery of the water cave is very shocking! It is worth the trip

By Xin |

Benxi Water Cave is divided into a dry cave and a water cave. After walking through the dry cave, you'll reach the water cave! The dry cave is relatively short, taking about 10 minutes to walk through. It's quite low inside, so you'll need to bend over in many places. The attraction isn't anything special, just a bit like a dinosaur!

Then we arrived at the water cave. We went in early, so there weren't many people. We lined up to get our padded jackets and wait to board the boat! The jackets were even better looking than I'd imagined. The best seats on the boat were in the front row, with a panoramic view without anyone blocking the view! It was also great for taking photos! The boat only makes a round trip, which takes about 30-40 minutes. The lighting inside was also quite good, making it easy to capture photos and see everything clearly. It was cloudy the morning we went, but it wasn't too cold inside, so it was fine!

By Szdk, Singing the Sea Breeze |

There are many people going to the water cave, and the transportation is very convenient. There is a direct bus from the bus station. It will leave when it is full and will not delay. The price is also cheap. If you go during the peak season, you need to arrive early, as it will take at least 20 minutes to get the ticket.

First, we entered the dry cave. There wasn't much there. There were paid photo opportunities, but the rest was just for fun. Once we exited, we lined up to enter the water cave. You need to wear a cotton jacket to enter the water cave, which is provided free of charge, but bring your own if you prefer. The staff used a stick to pick out clothes for visitors to wear, which had a nasty smell. You didn't have to pick them out; they did this to every piece. After entering, we lined up to board the boat. The staff were rude, like workers on an assembly line. We were their targets, but we endured it for the sake of the view. The tour lasted half an hour, and the boat was very fast. I heard that during the off-season, you can negotiate a slower boat trip and tip the boat driver. I didn't make it, so I decided to just enjoy this amazing display of nature.

By Cao Family Treasures |

The Benxi Water Cave ticket is around 150 yuan, including the boat ride and sightseeing bus. China-TravelNote has a ticket for around 135 yuan, which is relatively cheap. If you have honey, you can exchange it for RMB. You need to register and exchange your ticket at a specific window. The main attraction here is the beautiful scenery.

The cave's wonders can't be captured in photos, truly the power of nature. There's not much to do in the dry cave, but the main attraction is the water cave, which requires a 2.8-kilometer boat ride, a 5.6-kilometer round trip, which takes half an hour. Wear recycled cotton clothing, so if you're a germaphobe, bring your own. It's quite cold. The stalactites are still dripping, and the stones feel icy to the touch. Outside the cave, the scenery is breathtaking, with some maple leaves already turning crimson. October is even more stunning.

By Dreams and reality |

The Sweat Cave is not very interesting, but the 2.8 km water cave is still very spectacular and shocking, and worth seeing.

By kowsen |

Benxi Water Cave is the world's longest underground water-filled cave. Its formation is well documented online. All we had to do was admire this magnificent work of nature! We arrived at the boat stop and picked up our shared cotton-padded jacket. Despite our haste, we couldn't get a front-row seat, which was a shame! As the boat slowly pulled out, the surroundings, combined with my own feelings, felt like something out of Tomb Raiders. It was like I was just about dipping two fingers into the water... I highly recommend the Benxi Water Cave! The boat ride took just over half an hour, and after returning our jackets, we exited the cave. We could have rested by the lake before visiting the dry cave and the Geological Museum! I won't go into detail.

By Da Guang |

The scenery is nice, but the main thing is that you don't have the ability to receive so many people. Some have tour guides, some don't. I want to know how much you can understand without any explanation. I advise everyone not to go on Saturdays and Sundays

By - I'm fine. |

The beauty of the water cave is indeed magnificent.

But in the end I have to give this museum and park a very bad review!

The museum didn't turn on the air conditioning when it was over 30 degrees Celsius! The enclosed room was like a steamer. They didn't provide air conditioning in the scenic area just to sell cold drinks and water. They are really crazy about money!

The last park was even worse, the tour bus was abandoned halfway and left. Bad review!

By MIKA |

It's quite cold in the water cave. There are many people on weekends. It's a good place to go in the summer.

By The mood of a wanderer |

Fortunately, we first walked through a dry cave, a 300-meter walk that was just okay. We then put on our ski jackets and lined up for the boat. The battery-powered boat moved at breakneck speed, and the 2.8-kilometer journey took about half an hour. We could only pass by the scenery, unable to take in any of it. We could only read the names of the obvious, but not the subtle ones. The water was two meters deep and the temperature was 7 to 12 degrees year-round. Unfortunately, we didn't expect to wait for an extra boat, which would have given us a front-row seat with a better view.

By momos |

It's just average. You have to squeeze in the queue. The electric car is the same whether you have a ticket or not. You have to fight for a seat.

By A resurrection pill |

Benxi Water Cave, a natural landscape nestled against the mountainside, is an inland river. Its bizarre, jagged stalactites, illuminated by vibrant lights, evoke endless reverie. The underground river flows rapidly, yet the water is incredibly refreshing. A friendly reminder: cotton-padded jackets will be distributed at the entrance, so be sure to grab one.

By Purple Myrtles |

The natural stalactite scenic area was still very cold when I went there in October, but the scenery was very beautiful.

By Yi Ni |

From Shenyang, go to Benxi Station, then take a taxi to Dongfen Bus Station and buy a bus ticket to the water cave. It costs 9.5 yuan per person and it normally takes 40 minutes to get there. The water cave is very large and very nice, but don't go during the May Day holiday, as it will be too crowded! ! !

By Youyou |

This 5A-rated attraction, a stalactite cave, is a must-see for those who haven't seen this kind of stalactite water cave. I visited during the May Day holiday, and it was packed. The parking lot was a bit chaotic, making it difficult to find a spot. Crowded attractions aren't scary; the lack of order is. It's so crowded, you have to squeeze in. And there's trash everywhere. Alas, this 5A attraction is so scarred. As a northerner, I'm ashamed. There's also a geological museum within the area, perfect for learning and exploring with your children. It's bustling and noisy, and there are all sorts of rides. The area also has a Petrified Wood Kingdom, a park with various paid performances. Upon entering, you'll find a large, fun amusement pool where you can try some water activities. Many children are catching tadpoles.

By Xiaonan |

I really feel that the ticket for Benxi Water Cave Scenic Area is a bit expensive, and this scenic area is divided into water cave + dry cave + geological museum + petrified wood kingdom + folk garden. The water cave and dry cave are together, and it is really not necessary to go to the others, and there is no need to take the electric car. However, it has 3 packages, each package includes the others. The cheapest is 160, so it is recommended that you only buy the cheapest one. After all, you go there for the 40-minute boat trip to the water cave. But since you have bought the ticket, if you have time, you can go and have a look, after all, you have spent money.

The temperature inside the cave is very low, so it is recommended that you wear long sleeves and long pants when visiting the water cave, otherwise the coldness in the cave will really enter your body, which is not good for your health. So people like me who have a cold body dare not show off.

As soon as you enter, you will walk through the dry cave. In fact, the dry cave is very short and you can basically complete the tour in 10 minutes.

By A life on the road |

As the No. 1 cave in Asia, Benxi Water Cave has been well promoted. There are many stalactites and sailing on it feels like sailing in the clouds. It is very cold in the cave but cotton-padded clothes are distributed.

Shenyang North ~ Benxi Station ~ Dongfen ~ Shuidong

Book your ticket online and reserve time to pick it up. There are many high-speed trains arriving in Benxi in the morning, so try to arrive around 9:00. After exiting Benxi Station, there is an underground passage in front of the station that leads directly to the roundabout across the road. Take bus No. 25 to Dongfen (passenger station, fare 1 yuan), get off at Dongfen Station, walk straight ahead for a few minutes to the passenger center, walk directly to the innermost part of the hall, and you can buy tickets for the water cave. The ticket price is 9.5 yuan for adults, no ID card is required, and children under 1.50 yuan are half price. There is no distinction between buses, and the bus runs every 10 minutes. You can get on the bus with your ticket directly, and it will take about 40 minutes to reach the water cave. Follow the crowd to the ticket office and buy tickets only for the water cave and the geological museum, which are 135. If there is one adult and one child, it is 210. If the child is over 1.50, you need to buy a full ticket. There are sightseeing buses throughout the journey, which are included in the ticket. After visiting the water cave, take the bus to the geological museum (but the bus is always full, and it is also a 10-minute walk away). When you get out of the geological museum, take the bus to the exit. There is a bus to Dongfen at the exit for 10 yuan per person. From Dongfen, transfer to bus No. 25 or No. 16 to the railway station.

Bring hot water, bread, and fruit. The scenic area provides cotton-padded clothes, but they are very dirty. If possible, bring your own or wear more clothes. The water cave is cool in the shade. When sailing, be careful not to drop your phone into the water. There are also very low stalactites, so you need to lower your head to avoid hitting your head. If there are two people, one of you should sit on the side. The waves from the opposite boat will splash on you. However, you can touch the water in the water cave. It is cool now.

Remember to bring your ID card with you

Tickets for the Benxi Water Caves are 120 yuan in peak season and 80 yuan in off-season (including the caves and the museum). A combined ticket is 150 yuan in peak season and 110 yuan in off-season (including the caves, the museum, and the petrified wood and stone garden). The petrified wood and stone garden entrance fee is 35 yuan, and electric carts are 15 yuan. Peak season runs from April 1st to October 31st, while off-season runs from November 1st to March 31st.

Because we had an annual tourist pass, the entrance fee was free, but we had to pay an additional 15 yuan per person for the boat ride. You can also purchase an electric car for 10 yuan per person round trip, and the ride takes about 5 minutes each way. To save time, we opted for the electric car ticket.

Not only does the line for parking be a factor, but the entrance to the cave itself is also quite long. It takes about 20 minutes to get in from the end of the line. After entering, you'll need to pass through the dry cave and reach the water cave dock to board the boat, which takes another 20 minutes. If you want to avoid the long lines, I have two suggestions: first, visit Monday to Friday, which is not a holiday; second, visit in the afternoon, as tour groups and most individual tourists tend to visit in the morning.

P.S. The best spot for a boat tour is at the bow, where approximately three adults can sit in a row, while the remaining seats can accommodate four adults per row. A boat can accommodate approximately 20 people. The bow offers unobstructed views, making it the best spot for viewing and taking photos. A round-trip boat tour of the cave takes approximately 15-30 minutes.

After seeing so many caves, the water cave is truly spectacular.

I went to Benxi Water Cave on the Dragon Boat Festival on June 10, 2016. It is worth a visit!

By Still today |

The scenery of the water cave is still very good. It takes about 40 minutes to go back and forth by boat. It is worth a visit.

1. Season selection: It is strongly recommended to come in winter. Summer is the peak season for Benxi Water Cave, but at this time there are many people, transportation is inconvenient, ticket prices are expensive, and it is very hot outside the cave and very cold inside. You must wear a free coat to enter the cave, but it is really dirty. The boat will go faster when there are many people, and you can return quickly after a round trip through the water cave. However, if you come in winter, not only are there fewer people and the ticket price is cheaper, but it is also warmer inside the cave than outside, and the cotton coat you are already wearing is enough.

2. Transportation is not very convenient. There seems to be no public transportation that can go directly to the water cave from Benxi High-speed Railway Station. It costs more than 80 yuan to take a taxi to the water cave. Of course, there are many carpooling services that go to Xiaoshi. If you are not in a hurry, you can take it. It costs about 20 yuan per person. Of course, it may be cheaper. I am just a tourist and cannot understand it too deeply. For the return trip, you can wait for the return taxi at the entrance of the scenic area. The price is not expensive because if they cannot pick up passengers, they will go back empty. Or there are carpooling services at the ticket office, which also costs about 20 yuan per person.

3. The service in the scenic area is really not that good. The shuttle bus fee will be directly included in the ticket purchase. You need to tell him that you do not want to take the shuttle bus, because there is really no need to take it. It takes no more than 15 minutes to walk from the ticket office to the entrance of the water cave, and no more than 15 minutes from the water cave to the Geological Museum. There is no need to take a bus at all, except for the elderly and children.

4. Water cave. Many people have mentioned it before. First, there is a dry cave, which doesn’t have much. Then, you have to take a boat to visit the water cave. If you go back and forth quickly, it may be over in 20 minutes. Moreover, the water cave is the only scenic spot I have seen where you cannot control the tour time by yourself. After you get on the boat and finish the tour, you will directly exit. You cannot go back to the dry cave. Generally, each boat will suggest that you pool money to hire a tour guide. This is the situation in summer, but it is different in winter. When I went there, I was the only one on a boat. On the way, you can negotiate with the boatman and ask him to briefly tell you where the key points are. When you arrive at the key points, stop the boat to take pictures, because no matter whether you have a camera or a mobile phone, you can’t take clear pictures while the boat is moving. But you also need to give the guy some tips, about 20 or 30, which is not expensive. I personally think it is necessary. In fact, even if you count the time spent stopping the boat to take pictures, it will only take about half an hour to get out.

5. Overview of the scenic area. Generally speaking, Benxi Water Cave has a certain value of sightseeing. Compared with the Zhijin Cave in Guizhou and the Huanglong Cave in Zhangjiajie that I have visited, its water shape is also unique. The exhibits in the Geological Museum are also very interesting. However, the overall public service level is not high. If you don’t do your homework in advance, it is easy to be tricked. So I wrote some of my own experiences for your reference. I wish you all have fun.

It is worthy of being the most distinctive 5A-level scenic spot in Northeast China. After returning from Huangshan, you can't miss seeing other mountains, and after returning from Benxi, you can't miss seeing the caves. It is recommended that tourists hire a tour guide to have a deeper understanding of the water caves.

Benxi Water Cave is praised as "a myriad of stalactites and peaks, a picturesque scene of poetic beauty, a boat sailing through the emerald waters, a beauty only found in the immortal realm, a unique wonder on earth." Nature has sculpted this wonder over hundreds of thousands of years, but for me, a newcomer to the dry cave, it felt like the film "The Dark Invasion." My friend and I, alone in the dry cave, arrived at the water cave, fearing the unknown. Only after boarding the boat did we finally settle in to admire this meticulously carved spectacle—a true gift bestowed upon humanity by nature!

By Flying Swallow |

The water cave is divided into two parts: the dry cave and the water cave, each with its own characteristics and beautiful scenery. The service in the scenic area is in place and worthy of praise.

By Sticky Beans💋💋 |

It's terrible. I have never been to such a low-level tourist attraction. The ticket price is 155 or 55, which is not worth it. I will never go there again in my life. Fortunately, I went there with my loved ones, otherwise I would be depressed.

By Until you come |

First of all, the water cave is the only good thing in the entire scenic area, and you don’t need to see anything else.

Transportation: If you're not in a hurry, you can take the only train from Benxi to Xiaoshi Railway Station, which takes about an hour and arrives at 10:40. Xiaoshi is very small, so don't assume it's far from the train station. Alternatively, you can take a taxi directly from Benxi Station to the entrance of the water cave. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Benxi Station to the bus station. From there, you can take the Xiaoshi bus station, which also passes by the entrance of the water cave.

Tickets: 120 yuan in high season, 80 yuan in low season. There's a more expensive option, but the included items are quite a rip-off. Those are the only two options. The ticket seller also sold me a 15 yuan electric car ticket, which I didn't need. The place is not big, and I missed out on the scenery. I should have been able to waive the electric car ticket if I told him.

Taxi: From downtown Xiaoshi to the entrance of the water cave, it's 15 yuan, please bargain. I went there on the first weekend after National Day, which is recommended because there is less traffic.

Scenic Area: The temperature was pleasant, so I didn't need the free cotton-padded jackets given at the cave. The boat went faster without a guide. Rich people can hire a guide, and it seems not very expensive. On the way from the ticket office to the cave, there's a lake on the right and a forest on the left, which is also quite beautiful. Tourist attractions don't just have to be marked; you have to be adept at discovering them yourself.

Food: Please search for mutton soup in the map software. I drank a bowl of it at noon. It cost 30 yuan per bowl. I don’t know if it was too expensive, but there was a lot of mutton in it.

The water caves in the scenic area are worth seeing. The underground world is particularly amazing when you take a boat tour. Nature's uncanny creativity is amazing. In addition to the water caves, there are fossils in the geological museum that you can see. There is nothing else to see, especially the petrified wood kingdom, which is simply a scam.

I'd been to the Dragon Palace Water Cave in Guiyang before, so I wasn't quite as impressed. However, this one was truly massive. The round trip by boat took about 40 minutes, and the other scenery was just average. Since the boat was constantly moving, my camera couldn't capture the effect I saw. The water cave wasn't as cold as I'd imagined, but the entrance fee was a bit pricey.

By Zz_ Zhao |

It would be a pity to hear about the wonders of nature but not experience them. Only after experiencing them can you know the true face of the water cave. The stalactites of various shapes are all based on your imagination to describe the meaning of the name of the scenic spot. If you have not been there, it is recommended to feel the power of nature.

By 👑Yang Mingming🤗 |

It's not as good as I thought. It's just average. But if you come to Benxi, you should still check it out. The price is a bit expensive and not worth the money.

By Stroll carefully |

It feels okay, you can appreciate the magic of nature, but it is not very interesting, a bit boring, and the ticket price is high

By Lavender_Young |

Benxi Water Cave is a 5A-level scenic spot. We arrived at 4 pm, thinking we might as well take a look. The entrance fee was 120 yuan, and the electric car fee was 15 yuan, which was required, but it was actually very close. After entering the water cave, staff will constantly ask you to gather a group of individual tourists to hire a guide. If you don't hire a guide, you can get free coats at the boat boarding area (it's really cold in the water cave). Each boat can hold about ten people, and the trip in and out takes about half an hour. I personally don't think it's necessary to hire a guide. The guide will just talk about the image of each place... such as "Taishang Laojun" and so on. It's all based on your imagination, so you can just feel it.

By Tonne |

It's divided into two parts: the dry cave and the water cave. For details, you can read my article. The dry cave is very small, while the water cave is large. The scenery is average, the lighting is poor, it's very dark, and the photos are not clear. The boat speed doesn't seem fast, but it's difficult to take clear photos. There is a video. The temperature is 12° all year round, and cotton clothes are distributed at the entrance.

By big pay |

Just buy the Benxi Water Cave, which seems to be 80. The rest of the attractions, like the Geological Museum, are okay and optional. The Petrified Wood Park is completely name-dropping. The so-called combined tickets, priced at 135 or 195, are a complete rip-off. Never buy combined tickets online. Just buy individual tickets for the water caves at the scenic spot. The tourist attractions are too deep. The toilets are filthy, and my cotton coat was filthy too. It's a complete disgrace to the reputation of a 5A-rated attraction. But the Benxi Water Cave truly deserves its 5A status and is world-renowned.

By traces of time |

Although the cave tour is short, it is worth the ticket price for a 5A scenic spot and it shows the true charm of nature.

Worth a look. One point is that many of the guys who drive the boat in the water cave are playing with their phones while driving, which is very annoying. I forgot to improve it.

By Baili Creek |

The Benxi Water Cave Scenic Area, located west of Benxi County, below Benxi City, is the world's longest underground water-filled cave (only a little over 2km of its 8km length has been developed). To reach the cave, you must enter through the dry cave (which is empty), reach the dock, and then take a quick boat ride back and forth (the ride takes about 40 minutes, and the speed is so fast that camera photos tend to be blurry). Tickets for the scenic area are available in various combinations online, but the most expensive, 120 yuan per person (including the cave and museum), is not available online and can only be purchased at the scenic area ticket office. From the visitor center, it's 100 meters to the museum, and then 400 meters to the cave entrance, for a total of less than 500 meters round trip. If you're traveling with children or elderly, you don't need to take the scenic area's electric carts. Transportation: 1. Take a minibus from the Benxi Long-Distance Bus Station to Xiaoshi (Benxi County), and get off at the Benxi Water Cave Scenic Area intersection (the scenic area is only a few kilometers from Xiaoshi Town and is easily accessible by taxi or minibus). 2. Charter a round-trip bus directly from Benxi Railway Station (negotiable). Bus No. 16 connects Benxi Railway Station to Benxi Bus Station. Note: The temperature in the cave is very low, and the camera lens will be fogged and blurry after exiting the cave. It is best to prepare lens paper in advance for a good camera (this is definitely not necessary for a mobile phone).

Following the locals' advice, I only bought tickets for the dry cave and the water cave. I went through the dry cave first, and it was freezing cold. Even in the middle of summer, watching your breath was a unique experience. So I recommend bringing a jacket, as the cotton jackets are only provided after you get to the water cave for the boat ride.

The water cave is just a boat ride in and around. I basically chatted with my friends along the way because there was nothing special to focus on.

By Hanxi™ Auspicious 4.33 |

It's worth a visit. If you don't hire a guide, the boat will go fast! You don't have to go to other attractions. They are not interesting.

By Junjun |

Taxis are plentiful at the Benxi Railway Station exit, and you can share a ride to the Benxi Water Cave. It's not recommended to take the small bus from Benxi Bus Station, as Benxi Railway Station is quite far away. A shared ride costs 15-20 yuan per person, and bargaining is acceptable. The Benxi Water Cave entrance fee is 80 yuan, and the Geological Museum combo ticket is 135 yuan. I don't recommend the 195 yuan combo ticket, which includes the Geological Museum, Geological Park, and the transvestite show. Personally, I think the water cave and Geological Museum are worth visiting, but the Geological Park and the transvestite show are not worth it. After your visit, you can share a ride back to Benxi Railway Station.

The water cave is a place worth visiting. The natural wonders have created a natural tourist attraction. No extra clothes are required. There are free cotton-padded jackets inside.

By Haihe River |

When I went to Benxi Water Cave, it was not as popular as it is now. It is a large natural cave.

By Bulan Xiaoju |

The tickets are expensive, and it is suggested to lower the prices to provide better services to tourists.

By SAMAN WILL NOT PERFORM SHAMAN |

You can take a bus from Dongfen Bus Station to Xiaoshi, which is near the water cave. The ticket costs about 10 yuan. Xiaoshi Town is the county seat of Benxi Manchu Autonomous County.

Benxi Water Cave is a landmark of Benxi. As the world's longest underground river, it's a full 8 kilometers long. Only 2.8 kilometers of the cave are developed, but that's still not short. Tickets for the Benxi Water Caves vary in price, covering different scenic areas, but the most valuable is the Benxi Water Cave. I bought the cheapest package, which included the cave, the Geological Museum, and a tour bus for 120 yuan. Student tickets are 80 yuan.

The wonders of nature are astonishing. The boat ride is not tiring.

To experience the wonders of nature, visitors who come to the water cave must remember to wear the thickest clothes in their itinerary.

By Alone with the wind |

When it comes to traveling to Benxi in Liaoning Province, the most famous place is probably the Benxi Water Cave, right?

During the Qingming Festival in 2016, I took my family to Dandong for a trip. On the way back to Beijing, we rushed to the Benxi Water Cave. Unfortunately, the cave was closed just as we arrived! This time when I go to the Guanmen Mountain Scenic Area in Benxi, I must visit the water cave again.

After checking online, we found that the scenic spot opens at 8:30, so after breakfast at 8 o'clock, we checked out and strolled to the entrance. Oh my god! It was full of tourists queuing to buy tickets - we were late again!

However, it is also quite beautiful to take some time to take pictures of the autumn scenery while queuing to buy tickets.

The ticket says 210 yuan, maybe it's for the summer? Anyway, after National Day, when we went there, it was 120 yuan, plus 15 yuan for the electric car; the electric car takes visitors directly from the entrance of the scenic area to the water cave entrance, which is also a good way to make money.

When I first entered the water cave, I didn't take it seriously. I have been to many caves across China. As expected, when I first entered, it was full of man-made fake dinosaurs and fake sculptures with some lights. It felt boring.

Later, when we arrived at the pier in the water cave, we saw the staff handing out coats, which was quite refreshing.

Compared to the "underground fluorescent cave" in Linyi, the dock at Benxi Water Cave was quite orderly. After everyone filed onto the boat, the driver sat at the back, steering the boat and reminding passengers to keep their heads down and avoid bumps. It wasn't until we were cruising along the cave's waterway that the money felt truly worth it. The boat tour was nearly two kilometers round trip. The cave was a vibrant spectacle, and the water was quite clear (though I've heard it's nowhere near as clear as it was a few years ago, perhaps due to the sheer number of tour boats). See for yourself what it's like inside. It's important to note that the lighting inside the cave was quite dim, and the boat was moving at a fairly fast pace, so the photos aren't very clear; they're just for a glimpse.

Two hours was more than enough time to explore the Benxi Water Caves. After returning to the dock and returning our coats, we hurriedly boarded an electric car to head out of the scenic area. We passed a geological museum on the way, but we didn't get off. We returned directly to the scenic area gate, walked back to the farmhouse, and hailed a taxi to head to the highway.

By Take a walk with the snail |

This is a very novel attraction, and 2/3 of it is still undeveloped. It is full of magic. I hope that the environment will be well protected and it will remain the same as it was in the past.

By Liou |

It's a 5A-rated scenic spot probably because it's unique and doesn't exist anywhere else. It's certainly magical, but not necessarily beautiful. The Address Museum is very interesting, and as a materials science student, the crystals were thrilling. The Petrified Wood Kingdom didn't have anything, but I did get my phone wet after dropping it in the water. It was incredibly crowded, and the area was narrow, making it easy to squeeze in. If you don't have time, you can probably skip this attraction. The tour lasts about five hours.

By Huang Xiaowang |

The water cave was quite crowded during the National Day holiday. We waited in line for two hours to enter. Tickets for just the water cave are 120 yuan, 60 yuan for students, and an additional 15 yuan for a battery-powered car. There's a dry section before entering the cave, and free cotton-padded jackets are distributed before the boat tour. The boat tour lasts about 40 minutes, and the scenery is beautiful.

By Beautiful Sanya, romantic Tianya |

I have only been to the water cave in Benxi, and it is the only famous one here. Because there are few water caves in the north, it takes more than an hour to swim by boat and it is very cold.

By Beijing Lao Liu's Footprints |

The underground river is well lit and the service is good. There are coats available in the scenic area.
