When you arrive at the beach at the entrance of the geological park, the observation deck here has a wide view and you can see the sea far away.

The coast of Jinshitan Geological Park is home to mysterious and ancient stone landscapes.

On a beach outside the park, the sea water hits the sand under my feet. It is very comfortable to walk barefoot in the water. In the distance is a naturally formed portrait of Beethoven.

It's also a pleasure to walk along the coastline like this.

There are tourist buses that can reach the geological park in summer.

By jicey |

After experiencing it, I finally understood why it is called a "geological park", because the beach is basically full of small stones, which is very uncomfortable to walk on. The sea is next to the mountains, and there are many large rocks of various shapes.

Walking up the mountain road and looking into the distance is really refreshing, listening to the sound of the sea. It is the off-season for tourism, so there are very few people around. Standing there quietly and looking at everything in front of me, this feeling is indescribable. Only by experiencing it can you understand it.

Of all the seas I have seen so far, the one in Dalian Geopark is the cleanest, with a turquoise and blue hue.

The day we visited was a time of waiting for a downpour. The forecast called for heavy rain, and there was a warning for force 10 gales at sea, making the weather extremely hot and humid. Fortunately, the scorching sun of the previous few days was obscured by thick clouds, mitigating some of the heat. Following the single designated path, we explored nearly all the attractions. Due to weather conditions, the Dinosaur Sea Adventure, the sea cruise, and the Turtle Rock were temporarily closed, but overall, we were still deeply impressed. This experience was largely due to the weather.

Because of the gloomy weather, on the observation deck where the hippo came ashore, the plump white seagulls that were fed on a daily basis also showed the fearlessness described in Gorky's "The Seagull", flying against the wind without fear of the storm.

Because of the raging waves, the crab will have to fight a fierce battle that will shock the world and make ghosts cry.

Because of the strong wind, the roc seemed to be trying to break free from the pull of the sea and soar into the sky with the help of the wind.

These originally still sea rocks, against the backdrop of impending storms, display a tough character rarely seen in normal times. Amid the sound of waves crashing against them, one can directly feel their tenacity and perseverance.

Today, under a blanket of dark clouds and surging waves, even those standing on the shore were unable to open their mouths. Holding their hats with one hand and their phones steady with the other was a struggle. Voices were drowned out, and everyone was reduced to shouting. These sounds, interspersed with the cries of seagulls that appeared and disappeared overhead, seemed dwarfed by the relentless roar of the waves.

What is bitterly cold? It is the strong wind from the depths of the ocean, which mercilessly rolls up the waves and rushes towards the coast again and again.

What is silence? It is these simple and silent stones. Even if they are ravaged to the point of being riddled with holes, wrinkled, or even collapsing, they still fight back against the wind and waves with a resolute attitude.

Geology: Dinosaur Back Square, Haibin East Road, Jinzhou District, Dalian

Tickets: 60 yuan for adults. Tickets purchased online take one hour to issue. Combination tickets are available for Jinshiyuan Park, the Wax Museum, and the Geological Science Museum, the latter two of which are located within the Cultural Expo Plaza.

Transportation: Parking at Dinosaur Back is limited, so the guide will ask you to park at Parking Lot 2 at the foot of the mountain and then walk up along the occupied road. When trying to get a taxi back here, I encountered the only time I was refused a ride on this six-day trip to Dalian. I eventually got a special taxi back, but the wait was a bit long.

Parking is limited at the entrance, so if you're driving, you might need to park at the base of the park and then walk uphill. Alternatively, you can take the Jinshi Tourist Loop East Line, which stops right at the park entrance and is also very convenient. The ticket price is 20 yuan per person, and you can hop on and off at any point along the loop within a day.

Transportation within the park: Part of the central scenic area is under development. The scenic area provides free shuttle buses to the Turtle Back Rock. After visiting the Turtle Back Rock, wait at the drop-off point. The shuttle will take you to the south gate of the park. Cross the road at the south gate and you will be back at Dinosaur Back Square.

Tour duration: 2 hours for the fastest, and 3 hours for our slow walk and play. We walked on the road the whole time, so it was not tiring.

To get to the Geopark, take Light Rail Line 3 towards Jinshitan and get off at the last stop. It takes about an hour. From there, take a taxi directly to the Geopark entrance. The light rail costs 8 yuan per person, and the taxi fare is around 10 yuan (for the three of us, a taxi was a reasonable price for this distance).

We hiked up the mountain to the Geopark, climbing up and down the steps along the seaside. Walking under the shade of trees, feeling the cool sea breeze, and savoring the natural scenery. The Geopark has four key check-in spots: the Three Viewing Pavilion, Dinosaurs Exploring the Sea, Dapeng Spreading Its Wings, and Turtle Back Rock. At Nanxiu Garden, you can wait for the free sightseeing bus, which runs every 20 minutes (more buses may be added if there are crowds). It takes two minutes to get on the bus to the Turtle Back Rock scenic area.

I really like this attraction. It has both natural landscapes and azure, jelly-colored sea. It is not too hot in the scenic area. There is a free sightseeing bus on the return trip. Of course, you can also buy a speedboat ticket from Turtle Back Rock to return to the entrance of the scenic area.

The park is home to giant reefs formed by crustal movement and the impact of seawater hundreds of millions of years ago. One can’t help but marvel at the wonders of nature, and the natural scenery is much more beautiful than the Laoshan beach in Qingdao where I visited last year.

By T-Snow |

The scenery here can be said to be unique. Looking at the folds, volcanic rocks, and the lava formed by waves hitting the shore, I have to sigh at the wonders of nature~🤔Humans are really small.

By Just love to play |

Dalian Binhai National Geopark is located along the coastline within the Jinshitan Scenic Area. Hundreds of millions of years of crustal movement and seawater erosion have shaped its cliffs, beaches, and reefs. There are unusual rocks like Beethoven's Head, Dinosaurs Exploring the Sea, General Rock, Crab General Emerging from the Cave, and Dapeng Spreading Wings. However, I don't think they're quite as lifelike as those at Huangshan and Ziwei Cave in Chaohu. If you're not convinced that Ziwei Cave's rocks are superior, read this travelogue: http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/12366226.html. Then, draw your conclusions: rocks formed by seawater erosion are not very lifelike. This is included in the 60 yuan Jinshitan admission price. After the visit, I found the best viewing point to be the viewing platform outside the scenic area's ticket gate.

By Tianzhi Baijing |

It is still worth a visit for tourists from other places. You can walk there and take a speedboat.

By hyacinth! |

The geological park is dominated by coastal geology and sea erosion landforms, supplemented by stratigraphic sections, biostratigraphic sections and typical geological structural landscapes.

By Irene |

The clear blue sea and the most beautiful scenery. As a local indigenous resident of Dalian, I think this is the most beautiful place in Dalian.

By . |

This was my first time to go to the beach. It was in winter. It was foggy on the first day, so we went to Bangchuidao Island. The weather was very good on the second day, so we went to Address Park.

By overtake |

There are relatively few people in the Jinshitan Scenic Area. The coastline is vast.

By Purple Night Wind |

Overall ok, worth a visit. If you live in Jinshitan, you don't need to come here specially.

By Little chatterbox |

This geopark is quite physically demanding, with few flat paths and mostly steps, so traveling with elderly people or small children should be done with caution. However, the scenery is truly stunning. After exiting the light rail station, there's a ticket center. Tickets are only available for packages priced around 100 or 200 RMB. I only wanted to visit the core area (the geopark), so I bought my bus ticket directly at the ticket window. Regular tourist tickets for the core area are purchased after boarding the bus. If you have a discounted ticket, you can purchase it at the ticket window after getting off the bus with your ID. Tickets over 60 RMB are half price, and tickets over 70 RMB are free. Each bus has a guide who will explain each attraction, how to plan the best route, and which stops to get off for each ticket type. Discounted tickets are also available for some attractions, generally at a 20% discount. Listen carefully and purchase the tickets you need. After viewing the Thousand Layer Pancake, there's a bus stop. Instead of entering the bus stop, continue walking forward and you'll find a suspension bridge you can walk up. However, after a short distance, the road is blocked by a metal fence, forcing you to turn back. Walk 150 meters from the bus stop and you will reach an intersection. Wait for the red bus there to see the Turtle Back Rock.

By Love blue bear |

I'm used to seeing the fine sand beaches in Sanya and Southeast Asia, but it's rare to see the coarse sand beaches in the north. They have a unique flavor, especially with the colorful stones behind and the endless sea in front. It's very beautiful. The gifts of nature such as dinosaurs exploring the sea and turtle back stones are also spectacular.

By Misty Ranger |

Of the many attractions in Dalian, I highly recommend the Jinshitan National Geopark. Remember not to buy tickets through Ctrip, as they only offer packaged tickets and don't offer separate tickets for the Geopark. The Geopark ticket, including an electric car, is only 70 yuan and can be purchased at the entrance. The park boasts numerous natural reefs formed by rock and fossil deposits dating back hundreds of millions of years, each with its own unique and bizarre shapes. The area is primarily divided into the Dinosaur Garden, Nanxiu Garden, and Aotan Scenic Areas; the Rose Garden doesn't appear to be included. After entering the area, you'll need to hike along the plank path, which involves climbing several hills. Speedboats are not recommended, as the rocks offer different views from different angles, so take your time to take photos and admire them. You can continue past the Nanxiu Garden Scenic Area, but you'll need to return the same way and take the scenic shuttle to the Aotan Scenic Area. From there, you'll be taken directly back to the entrance.

By Xingxing Dad |

The ticket is 70 yuan, and the shuttle bus from the light rail to the scenic area is 20 yuan. Generally speaking, the scenery in the first half is better than the second half.

By rose |

The ticket price is 70 yuan, and children are half price. I bought a ticket to enter. I didn’t even have time to take a good look at the entrance before I entered the park!

There are two ways to explore this area: one is a land tour, an entire hike, where we took about three hours to explore, rest, and take photos. The other is a sea tour, a speedboat tour of the park. After I returned, a colleague from work also went to Dalian. Before boarding the subway at the train station, she was stopped by a ticket tout and bought a speedboat ticket for 180 yuan per person. The ticket seller told her that the 1.5-kilometer wooden boardwalk was too far to walk back and forth. My colleague, who was traveling with her in-laws in their seventies, didn't want them to walk too far, so she bought the ticket. I explained that it was a one-way trip, and that after the 1.5-kilometer walk, she would be out and there was no need to return. 1.5 kilometers is only two or three bus stops on the city bus—not far at all. I still couldn't get enough of the walk and was eager to retrace my steps. The coastline was breathtaking, and the crashing waves were truly captivating!

I recommend a walking tour. My favorite way to explore is to walk, observe, and photograph slowly. When walking, take a photo of the scenic area map near the ticket window. As you walk, look at the large rocks in the sea. You'll discover a variety of natural features marked on the map, such as "Beethoven's Head," "Dinosaurs Exploring the Sea," "Stone Monkeys Watching the Sea," and "Crabs Are Coming Out." I consciously or unconsciously looked for these natural features while visiting, and I found most of them.

As soon as I entered the scenic area, I felt refreshed. I love this kind of outdoor natural wonder, it’s so cool!

Regardless of your tour method, it all begins at the "Beethoven Head" and ends at the "Turtle Back Rock." A transfer bus will take you to the National Geopark exit at the "Turtle Back Rock" scenic spot. This bus requires a National Geopark ticket to board. The bus will then depart at the same point as the Golden Pebble Beach Loop Bus, which also requires a Golden Pebble Beach Loop Bus ticket. This concludes your Golden Pebble Beach National Geopark tour.

Hiking, rock viewing, and sea-viewing were all fun! Honestly, I couldn't walk enough, see enough, or play enough!

By Lushan Shenglongba |

From afar, I could smell the faint scent of fish from the ocean. Now, Golden Pebble Beach unfolded before my eyes. Coastal reefs stretched in rows, a scene of time-honored carvings by nature. Classic sea erosion, the combined power of wind and waves transformed even the most solid rock into a thousand ravines in a flash.

By The open space in the north 🌛 |

Entering the Geopark, the first thing I saw was the boundless expanse of the Yellow Sea, its waters crystal clear and blue. The weather was clear, and the blue sky, white clouds, and sea formed a beautiful landscape. The scenery was beautiful, the waters crystal clear, and it was a romantic place, especially when it wasn't crowded.

There are a few important points to keep in mind. First, tickets can be purchased with your student ID or through online group purchases (be sure to buy early for group purchases). Second, food within the park is quite expensive, so it's recommended to bring your own. (There are many activities and the distance involved is quite long, so it's recommended to pack light.) Third, be sure to wear sunscreen on sunny days!

By Smiling Face |

My favorite scenic spot in Dalian, it has beautiful natural scenery, clean sea water, and beautiful views of mountains and water.

By rabbit tiger beast |

I don't recommend taking a speedboat. You can only see a small island with a turtleback rock. It takes an hour to visit. It's better to take a tour bus. Although you have to walk there, the scenery along the way is beautiful. It's okay to walk slowly. My 10-year-old daughter also walked the whole way (although she kept saying she couldn't walk anymore).

By carey |

Along the way, you will see some naturally formed pictographic stones similar to those in other scenic spots.

There are seafood stalls selling seafood at the geological park, 50 yuan per pot, which I think is quite a good deal. It is very fresh and can be packed and taken away.

Then there is the legendary stone in the geological park - Ghost Back Rock. It has a naturally formed ghost back texture and is said to be only two in the world. The tour guide said that the stone is guarded by someone 24 hours a day, otherwise it will be stolen. I was inexplicably amused by this.

By smiling_笑 |

The reefs here have been carved by nature into natural works of art in various shapes and forms. Some of these boulders look like stone monkeys watching the sea, some like rocs spreading their wings, and some look like Beethoven's head. Most of them stand on the coast and are also excellent photography spots.

On one side is the sea and on the other side is the mountain. The rocks are colorful and varied. Walking in the beautiful scenery created by hundreds of millions of years of waves and erosion, you will marvel at the magic of nature.

Binhai National Geopark is very large, and the 70 yuan ticket includes three places: Nanxiu Park, Aotan Park, and Dinosaur Park.

Nanxiu Garden is the most beautiful, with pavilions and suspension bridges

I don’t even know if I’ve reached the Dinosaur Park? Or maybe I’ve reached it but don’t know where it is?

The beauty of mountains and seas

The eyes are full of blue and green, which is very pleasing to the eyes.

Deep and light blue~

When I reached the suspension bridge, I didn’t go any further down because the free bus stop for the park is a little further back, and you can take it directly to Aotan Park.

Then the tour of the Geopark ended.

Take the park bus to the place where the 20-yuan bus stops and wait for the bus

It’s important to note that the next stop is Gold Coast East Coast, but this is actually a loop line that goes back to the previous attractions and then to Gold Coast. Because Gold Coast is right next to the light rail station tourist service center.

Therefore, it is recommended to visit the National Geopark first and then return to the Gold Coast. This route is the most convenient

But the disadvantage is that after you have seen the water in the National Geopark, the water in the Gold Coast may not be so attractive.

By fallen willow |

The Geological Park is the core scenic spot of Jinshitan. Walking along the coast, you can see various geological structures and landscapes. When you go out in the morning, the sky is still a little cloudy. By noon, the sun gradually appears and the sky becomes bluer. Because there is no time limit, I stroll slowly along the ups and downs of the beach, looking at the beautiful sea.

When we reached the final destination, the sun was rising and the sea breeze was getting stronger. We simply sat on the beach and watched the waves rolling up and hitting the beach, as if the sea was singing.

By Remnant |

The National Geopark is really remote. We first took the Light Rail Line 3, then took the bus. After arriving, we walked a long way.

I thought we were being abducted. I think if we went there in the afternoon, we would be terrified.

The ticket to the National Geopark is quite reasonable at 70 yuan. There is also a shuttle bus, but you still have to walk the first 1.7 kilometers.

By Stacy |

I highly recommend the Geopark, it's absolutely stunning. The sea here is crystal clear, Dalian is truly the Pearl of the North.

It was already four o'clock when we arrived at twelve o'clock after visiting the geological park. Hahaha, it's not that the scenic area itself is so big, but that no matter how many photos we take, it's not enough.

By . |

Facing the sea is a wondrous feeling: vast, free, fearless, and unfettered. From the azure blue of the South China Sea to the grayish-white of the East China Sea, and finally to the lake-green shores of the Bohai Sea, no matter when, no matter how many times I've seen it, I can never resist the ocean. The sea breeze sweeps the waves, pounding the shore, as if it can embrace everything, wash away everything! Facing the sea, spring is warm and flowers are blooming!

The coastline of the geological park is made up of naturally formed colorful sea cliffs and pink stone beaches. Some places look like Danxia landforms. The bays are clean and beautiful. From a high vantage point, it looks like the date place of the male and female protagonists in Descendants of the Sun. When the wind blows, it feels like a Korean drama.

Walk to Dalian Railway Station Light Rail Station, take Line 3 and get off at Jinshitan. The fare is 8 yuan and the journey takes about 40 minutes.

There is a tourist service center on the right hand side after exiting the light rail station. I consulted about the places I wanted to visit and bought a bus ticket there for 20 yuan per person.

Here we chose to visit the Geopark and Gold Coast. The ticket for the Geopark is 60 yuan per person (off-season), and the Gold Coast is free.

Dalian Binhai National Geopark

Located in the Jinshitan National Tourist Resort, it is a national AAAAA-level scenic spot.

Here is a collection of natural reefs formed by rocks and a large number of ancient fossils deposited 600-900 million years ago.

Some are shaped like animals, some are shaped like human figures, and some are even shaped like blooming flowers.

Ticket price: 70 yuan/person (60 yuan/person in off-season)

Transportation: Take the express line 3, get off at Jinshitan, the terminal station, and then pay 20 yuan for a sightseeing ticket to arrive.

Or you can negotiate the price with a taxi driver and he can deliver the goods (be sure to negotiate the price before driving)

Or you can drive yourself, there is a parking area at the door, remember it is charged

The landscape formation of each scenic area is different and the age is slightly different.

I will select a few representative landscapes for you to enjoy.

For the rest, just feel the power of nature on your own ^_^

First stop: Dinosaur Park

Second stop: Nanxiu Garden Scenic Area

The third stop is the Aotan Garden Group

The most interesting thing about this park is the suspension bridge

The most famous scene is the divine turtle looking for its child.

The sea water here is so deep that you can see the bottom. The sea water is super clear.

You can go fishing at low tide, bringing your own tools.

Don't have any fun

The entire hike takes about 3 hours

There is a car in the last garden, if you are too lazy to walk

By Blue Fat Paper & Er Gou Za |

Binhai National Geopark is located in Dalian Golden Stone Beach Tourist Resort. It is a collection of various natural reefs formed by the deposition of rocks and a large number of ancient biological fossils 600-900 million years ago. I walked all the way, it was more beautiful than I imagined, the water was very clean and transparent

It really exceeded my expectations. I recommend hiking in Binhai Park. The scenery is really nice. I went there during the last few days of National Day and there were not too many people. It is the subway terminal, which is very convenient!

The most worthwhile destination in Dalian (and supposedly the Ocean Island) is accessible via the 8 RMB light rail from the station next to Dalian Station's North Square. There's a tourist information center on the right side of the exit where you can learn more about the scenic area and the sightseeing bus routes. However, the staff at the information center generally recommend buying a combined ticket, which is discounted to around 180 RMB. This includes a lot of less-than-ideal attractions like museums and memorials. The best part of the scenery is in the Geopark itself. So, upon arriving at the scenic area, I recommend buying a 20 RMB sightseeing bus ticket at the tourist information center. The bus stops at any stop, and once you arrive at the Geopark, you can buy a 70 RMB ticket at the ticket office. As for the Gold Coast, it's free. Of course, if you really don't want to miss any of the attractions... you can definitely buy a combined ticket.

By jgj252 |

There are attractions worth visiting in Dalian. There is a direct rail transit near Dalian Railway Station. It was very crowded during the summer vacation. It took more than an hour to stand to get to the Golden Stone Beach Scenic Area. I recommend Discovery Kingdom and Geopark. The Gold Coast is very crowded. You must walk into the Geopark by yourself. It is a scam to take the 🚤. I advise you not to be fooled. The first picture was taken from the 🚤, and the others were taken when you walked closer.

Binhai National Geopark is located at the easternmost end of the Jinshitan Scenic Area. Due to time constraints, we didn't go inside to explore the area in detail, but simply wandered around the entrance for a while. The best way to get there is by car, using navigation to find your destination. Walking is indeed quite arduous. From Haizhilian Square, head southeast, a slight uphill walk, and you'll reach the entrance of the Geopark in about 30 minutes. The Geopark is built around some of the unique coastal landforms, with sheer cliffs facing the sea, creating a breathtaking view. Tickets to the Geopark are sold individually for 20 yuan per person, but it's recommended to buy a package that includes multiple attractions, which is much cheaper!

By Spongejia- |

Only after coming here did I realize her beauty was the wonders of nature. It was very shocking.

By Xiaozhe |

I feel that this is the most beautiful sea in Dalian. It is worth a visit and you will not be disappointed. Jinseyuan does not recommend it. If you are interested in stones, you can take a look. It costs 20 yuan.

By Giant vetch in the reed marsh |

The National Geopark is divided into two sections. The first section is sparsely populated, likely due to the large number of people taking the boat. The first section ends at a beach, but there's no path beyond, so you need to backtrack a bit. The second section, where you arrive by boat, is incredibly crowded! I highly recommend hiking. The first section is beautiful, with hiking trails along the coast and plank paths, making it worthwhile. You can also take your time, with four or five opportunities to connect with the ocean. The beach is mostly sandy and gravelly, so walking barefoot can be a bit painful, and there's a lot of seaweed. But it's less crowded.

Ps: 1. I have to say that the 20-yuan bus will have a tour guide to introduce the area. She will recommend taking a boat and tell you that you can only walk all the way to dark on this hiking route and cannot give up halfway. If there are no elderly people or very young children, it is recommended to hike. There are fewer people along the way and the scenery is absolutely worth it. 2. The park mentioned here is actually not very accurate. It is actually a scenic spot divided into two places, and you need to take a bus to transition in the middle.

The natural scenery is really beautiful and it is my favorite place to visit in Dalian! If you like natural scenery, don't miss it! I think you can spend a whole day there. It's fun to catch crabs, hermit crabs and small fish with your children. The sea water is clear because there are few people.

Dalian Binhai National Geopark is located in Dalian's famous Golden Pebble Beach scenic area. To get there, take Light Rail Line 3 and get off at the Golden Pebble Beach stop. Then, take the Golden Pebble Beach day tour bus (20 yuan) to the core area of Binhai National Geopark. After getting off the bus, walk about 200 meters to the Binhai National Geopark ticket office.

The hiking trail is quite long and requires at least 90 minutes to explore. If you want to explore it in detail, it will take about 4 hours.

Remember, the tour guides on day trip buses will deliberately claim the hike is long, at 6 kilometers and taking 3 hours. They'll then recommend heading directly to the cruise ship dock, saying you can still explore without the hike. In reality, these are two completely different scenic areas: the hiking area is Nanxiu Garden, and the boat ride is Bietan Garden.

The bus first arrives at the hiking entrance. You can't see the gate of the scenic area from the bus. The walk down is very secluded, so basically no one gets off the bus. Most people take the bus directly to the Beast Beach Park where the cruise ship terminal is located.

The Golden Pebble Beach One-Day Tour bus stops. The bus departs from the Tourist Service Center and ends at the same center, making a long circuit. The 20-yuan ticket is valid for one day, allowing unlimited rides.

The rocks inside are 200-900 million years old ~ very similar to the Grand Canyon in the United States!

It's a huge park. We didn't buy a package ticket, just a park-wide ticket. The package cost over 130 yuan, while individual tickets cost 70 yuan, or 35 yuan with a student ID. After entering the park, it's a 1.7-mile walk to the end point, where you can take a bus directly out of the park. Strange rocks, seagulls, clear waters, yachts—there's so much to see and do, it's truly unique.

The scenery is stunning, and the water quality is much better than in the city. After entering, walk a little over a kilometer and take the scenic area's free bus to Aotan. I recommend buying a separate ticket for the Geopark. I bought a combined ticket, but I felt the wax museum and the Geological Museum were not very interesting. The wax figures in the wax museum looked nothing like the real thing, and the entrance fee was 100 yuan.

Today, my friends and I came to Dalian Binhai National Geopark. We took the Jinshitan Line of the Rapid Rail Line 3 to Jinshitan Station, and then took the Jinshitan Resort's sightseeing bus to the Geopark.

We went to the ticket office to buy tickets. The adult ticket was 70 yuan per person and the student ticket was 35 yuan per person, which was quite a bargain. Then the tour guide at the ticket office gave us an explanation of the route to help us have a better experience.

There are many strange rock landscapes and many representative landscapes, such as dinosaurs exploring the sea, roc spreading its wings, hedgehogs foraging for food, divine tortoises looking for their children, and the turtle back rock, the treasure of Golden Stone Beach. I especially like the Aotan Park Scenic Area. The largest and most beautiful turtle back rock in the world is located in Golden Stone Beach, Dalian, China. We spent about 2 hours there. Aotan is a small peninsula, which is especially suitable for visiting with friends!

Seeing the workers who were repairing the plank road, I felt that they were very happy, facing the sea every day and working in such a beautiful environment.

If I could only visit one place in Dalian, I would definitely choose the Jinshitan Geopark. It is really beautiful, just like the vows we made. The geomorphic structure was formed 500 to 600 million years ago.

By China-TravelNote users |

The geological features are very unique and should be more beautiful in summer, but the scenic area is not well protected. It takes more than an hour to take pictures and walk around. The ticket price in the off-season is 60, and I really think it should not be charged.

Dalian Binhai National Geopark comprises four major areas: Golden Stone Beach, Dahei Mountain, Southern Coast, and Lushunkou. The Golden Stone Beach area, the core of the National Geopark, is divided into three major scenic areas: the Golden Coast Scenic Area, the Eastern Scenic Area, and the Chengshantou Scenic Area. The Eastern Scenic Area boasts the highest concentration of geological and rock formations and is divided into four major scenic clusters: the Rose Garden Scenic Area, the Dinosaur Garden Scenic Area, the Nanxiu Garden Scenic Area, and the Aotan Scenic Area.

Even outside the park, I was stunned by the ocean. It was winter when I went, and the park was closed, so there was no one around. I tried to get in, but unexpectedly, there was a staff member on duty at the ticket booth who wouldn't let me in.

You can take a speedboat to an island. It's said you might see dolphins, but we didn't. Once we were there, the tour guide told us about some amazing rocks: dinosaurs exploring the sea, Beethoven's head, a tortoise looking for its child (this one looked pretty similar), a parrot worshipping the sea, and the most famous story of a large dragon and nine smaller dragons wreaking havoc on the sea (the large dragon was clearly visible, but the smaller ones... well, the locals only saw five smaller ones). Touching the large dragon's tail is said to bring good luck.

Full-time ticket is 70, student ticket is 35.

It takes about 1 hour to take the light rail from the city to Jinshitan. It is recommended to buy the return light rail ticket in advance during the peak season.

There is a visitor center next to the Jinshitan Light Rail Station. If you go to the Binhai National Geopark, you must buy a ticket for the scenic area sightseeing bus. Otherwise, it is really tiring to walk there and then visit the park. There are no buses on the road, and the sightseeing bus can be used unlimited times. The last bus in the peak season is at 5 pm.

It takes about 4 hours to visit the entire park. If your itinerary is full, you need to plan it well.

At the Jinshitan Scenic Area, you can take the Light Rail Line 3 in the city to reach the scenic area directly. You can buy a sightseeing bus ticket at the Tourism Service Center and ride it as much as you want within a day and get off at the Geological Park. Adult tickets are 70 yuan, and student tickets are half price. You can walk along the wooden plank road and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Yellow Sea and rocks. It is worth a walk here.

This place~~ I wasn't really interested in going because it was too far, but once I got there, I'll never forget it or regret it. We went in mid-September, and the weather was great, with few people and the sea. We decided to stay the night (the hotel was affordable, on par with Dalian, or even a little cheaper). We're going swimming tomorrow morning 😊

The school took me there during my geological internship. The scenery was better than I imagined. I recommend it to geology enthusiasts.

Beautiful reefs! Beautiful scenery! A paradise on earth!

The most impressive scenic spot of my visit to Dalian is the Geopark. It's incredibly easy to reach from downtown. Take Light Rail Line 3 directly to the Visitor Reception Center. From there, take a tour bus to the Geopark entrance. Walk along the wooden boardwalk along the seaside, enjoying the scenery. The gentle sea breeze washes away the summer heat. The azure sea, the azure sky, and where the sea meets the sky, a few speedboats become tiny black dots. Seagulls soar in the distance. Everything is comfortable and beautiful.

I was attracted by the rocks and really felt the power of nature.

The scenery is beyond my imagination. It is a great attraction. There is a sea on one side and a mountain on the other. It is not hot to walk. The sea erosion landforms and folds are complete. It is worthy of being a national geological park.

Two years ago, when I visited Dalian, I didn't get to visit Binhai National Geopark for various reasons. It was a real shame. This time, I finally made it. The geopark is located within the Jinshitan National Tourist Resort. The core area has a fee, with two ways to access it: by boat and on foot. The hike costs 70 yuan per person, and student IDs are supposed to be half price. The hike was incredibly tiring and hot, but the scenery was truly stunning. Nestled between the mountains and the sea, with mountains on the left and the sea on the right, it's truly picturesque and picturesque. A word of caution: if you want to see the Turtle Back Rock, you can take the shuttle bus from the scenic area, which only requires your geopark ticket, but otherwise it's quite tiring.

By China-TravelNote users |

The Geological Park is a must-see attraction in the Golden Stone Beach Resort. The temperature is very high during the dog days of summer, but the beautiful natural scenery of the seaside makes people feel like spring breeze and cools down instantly.

On the tour bus, the tour guide misled everyone, saying the mountain here was difficult to climb and suggesting a yacht ride. In reality, the most beautiful scenery is found on the way up: bizarrely shaped rocks, geology formed over millions of years, crashing waves, covered bridges and plank roads. And the supposedly difficult mountain is essentially just three small hills piled high, so those in good health should have no problem climbing. At the end, you can also take a short speedboat ride for 20 yuan. There's a free shuttle bus down the mountain, so you don't have to worry about your energy level. The only problem is that the prices on the island at the end are ridiculously high, so I recommend packing plenty of food.

The Binhai National Geopark is located on a peninsula within the Jinshitan Resort. We took a speedboat to see various marine landforms from the sea. Unfortunately, the fog was too thick and we only saw dinosaurs exploring the sea. Then we climbed up Aotan Island to see the Turtle Back Stone, a natural heritage of the Cambrian period. Nature is so magical!

It's really beautiful, my favorite place in Dalian. Barely one of them! PS: The photo seems to be upside down, please forgive me!

The natural scenery here is very good, the water in Dalian is very clear, it is worth a visit

The scenery of the coastline is really nice. I personally feel that it is better when there are fewer people. It’s a pity that there are too many people in the summer.

By ;'The mouth and...o |

The geological park depends entirely on personal preference. It is a very quiet place with no one disturbing you. There are strange rocks and golden beaches. There are signs along the way. It is very suitable for two people to walk around and take pictures. It is very comfortable.

By Until you come |

First, take the light rail to Jinshitan Station, which is the most convenient. After exiting the station, there's a visitor center on the right. They sell tickets for NT$60, NT$30 for students, and a sightseeing bus for NT$20 (no student tickets available). This bus takes you from the light rail station to the park entrance, where you can take it back after your visit. There's also a bus service within the park, perfect for returning to the main entrance. Jinshitan Park is truly stunning, with mountains, water, and forests. The various reefs are bizarrely shaped, some so distinctive they've even been given names. Because it's off-season, there were fewer people, but some attractions weren't open, and there were no boat rides. The entire park is smaller than expected. By the way, on your way back to the light rail station, you can get off early at a plaza where wedding photos are taken. Then walk back along the Gold Coast, which is a short distance.

It takes about an hour to drive from Dalian Harbor Tower to the Golden Stone Beach Resort. Due to time constraints, we only visited the core area of Golden Stone Beach, the Dalian Binhai National Geopark. Admission to the park is 70 yuan per person, and there's a free dinosaur fossil exhibition near the park's main gate. Entering the park, follow the coastal trail, passing attractions such as "General Rock" and "Crab General Emerging from the Hole." The area features geological formations dating back 800-600 million years to the Sinian and Cambrian periods. The beachfront reefs are bizarre in shape, and sedimentary rocks and fossils are stacked in rows, creating a breathtaking scenery. The hike, which takes 2-3 hours, involves ups and downs along the mountain path. A dedicated tour bus picks up at the park's back gate and takes you to the front gate, so there's no need to backtrack. Of course, if you have the time and energy, you can return through the front gate to enjoy the scenery. The park closes at 4:00 PM, so we didn't complete the hike. Park staff provided a small car to take us to the tour bus pick-up area at the back gate. The tour bus driver said there was another attraction downstairs called "The Divine Turtle Searching for Its Child." If we wanted to go, we'd have to wait for fifteen minutes. "Go," we said, and we sped off to the attraction, where we saw the "Layered Colors" rock formations. I was a little disappointed that I didn't see all of it due to time constraints, but the Binhai National Geopark left a wonderful impression on me.

This is one of the most beautiful attractions in Dalian. If you go to Dalian, you must go and see it. You must climb the mountain yourself to see the most beautiful scenery.

By Wanzi Creek |

I visited Dalian at the end of December 2014, which is off-season for this coastal city in Northeast China. The off-season has its advantages: fewer tourists, beautiful but desolate scenery, and the entire Geopark feels like your own backyard, where you can enjoy yourself to your heart's content.

The park consists of four major areas: Golden Pebble Beach, Dahei Mountain, Southern Coast, and Lushunkou. The Golden Pebble Beach area is the core area of the National Geopark and can be directly reached by express rail.

However, the biggest downside to the off-season is the inconvenient transportation within the scenic area. Originally, after exiting Jinshitan Station on the express rail, there were tourist buses to the core scenic area for 20 yuan per person, taking you to any scenic spot. However, during the off-season, when there are almost no tourists, you have to call the dispatch center to arrange a bus. Also, many scenic spots are closed during the off-season, so you might miss out on some of the sights. Nothing is perfect.
