This is Discovery Kingdom, a massive amusement park. It's the most high-end amusement park I've ever been to. I rarely go there, as if I'm past the age of such things. Let me tell you about this: there was a long line, a long, long one, before I finally got to ride it. It was incredibly fast. Anyone wearing glasses, take them off! I personally think the attractions at Discovery Kingdom are very family-friendly. The four roller coasters and bungee jumping system provide ample thrills for adults, while children can also find their own little playground. The evening welcome theater and fireworks show are also worth seeing. While the park's scenery and performances still lag behind world-class theme parks like Universal Studios Disney, they are considered high-end in China and exceeded expectations. This small Disneyland has everything for children, older children and adults to play. There are so many performances that you can't see them all. The convoys that travel around the park are spectacular. I highly recommend it.

If you're visiting Dalian, you absolutely must visit Discovery Kingdom. We recommend bringing your own car to the amusement park.

The price/performance ratio is good and acceptable. I recommend you to have a look.

Dalian is a clean and beautiful city. Discoveryland is also a well-known amusement park, having been around for a while. It's directly accessible by light rail, and the environment and services are excellent, including the hotels. It's a great value, perfect for a weekend getaway, and suitable for all ages.

This is a great theme park. It feels similar to Disneyland, but it has its own unique features. Some of the thrilling rides are very interesting. Sometimes there are parades and fireworks shows, and tickets can be booked in advance online. The food prices in the scenic area are also cheaper than those in Disneyland. You must visit it when you come to Dalian.

Personally, I think the performance is average, but the price is half cheaper than Disney, so it's worth a try.

It's not very big and you can walk around it in an hour. It's suitable for preschoolers and teenagers. It's a bit awkward for elementary school students. There's not much to play.

Everyone remember that you are not allowed to bring food into the amusement park. If you have food, you will be asked to take it out and store it for free. You can pick it up at the storage area with your badge when you leave the park. However, it should be okay to bring a small amount of snacks, bread, etc. Be sure to remember to bring two bottles of drinks, as food and drinks in the park are very expensive. This is the key point.

Key lessons learned:

Be sure to bring a complete set of clothes, because you may get very wet after playing water activities. Wear sunglasses, parasols, hats and other sun protection products. It is still very sunny at noon. In addition, students with myopia are advised to wear contact lenses, because most activities cannot be experienced while wearing frame glasses because they are easy to fall off.

I found that the kingdom’s inspections were very strict, even the tourists’ bags were opened. Apart from water, no dry food such as bread was allowed to be brought in.

In the first show in the morning, we arrived at the first amusement facility shortly after entering the door. It seemed to be called "Flying Broom", but I'm not sure. It rotated and rose and fell freely in the sky like a wizard, experiencing the feeling of flying and "taking off" with the rhythm of the music!

He joined them for a few rides, reluctantly riding the roller coaster. The suspended "Heaven and Earth Love" coaster boasts the "No. 1 Roller Coaster in Asia"! Later, he arrived at the "Thunder Chariot," Asia's first vertical roller coaster—the 90-degree "Scream!" He started with the ones with the shortest lines, then moved on to the longer ones when the crowds were thinner. He tried everything from the bungee jumping machine to the other thrilling rides with 360-degree, 540-degree, and even 720-degree spins. By five o'clock that evening, within an hour, he'd rushed to ride everything he wanted.

I originally just wanted to show my daughter the theme park's evening fireworks, but she was surprised by how truly spectacular it was at night, with its dazzling array of colorful lights. The carousel to my left was especially stunning, even to me, so I made it my first stop. The spinning carousel truly makes you forget your pain. The staff kept playing pop songs by Sodagreen and Karen Mok, encouraging everyone to sing along and relax. Hearing that, I suddenly felt a sense of relief, a sense of relief, a sense of letting go of burdens and forgetting about work and family. Having been to Disneyland before, I always felt that Discovery Kingdom pales in comparison. I went on a Monday, and the lines weren't very long, but it was still very slow, with inefficient staffing and equipment. The park itself is quite small, and after a tour, I felt like there wasn't much to see. Of course, there are some good things. The roller coaster at Discovery Kingdom is the best and most thrilling I've ever ridden. I highly recommend Thunder Chariot, a must-try!

A super fun amusement park with everything you need, various theme parks, and performances. It is well worth a visit!

Highly recommended! We both thought it was better than Beijing Happy Valley. The architecture is very stylish, and the theme seemed to be about knights slaying dragons. We rode two roller coasters. The Thunder Chariot was truly thrilling. The first section was like jumping off a bungee jump, then you got all swirling and tumbling. It was exhilarating. The second, called "Heaven and Earth Love," was also thrilling. I had a blast riding roller coasters here. My girlfriend closed her eyes the whole time; it felt like she was going to have a seizure. Hahaha. There happened to be an electronic music party that evening, but unfortunately, I didn't find it. It was awkward, but I just went along the way and saw something fun I wanted to try. My girlfriend absolutely loved the magnificent carousel. And then there was the Kingdom of Discovery's birthday, which was so coincidental that we watched the fireworks for a long time. So happy! It closed around 9 PM, but I remember a guide saying it closed at 10. What a bummer! So, if you're going to a night party, it's best to arrive at 4 PM sharp. You'll lose money if you're late.

Golden Stone Beach is far from the city center, and many Discovery Kingdom day tours depart at around 8 a.m. The advantage is that round-trip transportation is included, but the return time is usually around 3 a.m. Considering that Discovery Kingdom has nightclubs during the peak season, we had no choice but to go on our own to have more freedom.

Discovery Kingdom was built by the Disney team, so it felt like a low-end version of Disney. Most of the attractions in the theme park are thrilling, and my wife was really disappointed because she felt dizzy.

I sighed and found that the kingdom is really small and it can be explored in about half a day.

It would be more suitable to come at night, as you can enter the park at 4 o'clock and play all the games. Some projects are open until after 9 o'clock.

We played all the games that the experts in the game could play, and we played some of them more than once.

The next day we rented a three-person tram. My husband and I were too lazy to walk. It cost 120 yuan per hour, with a deposit of 500 yuan.

My favorite part of the entire Discovery Kingdom is the architectural style of the Legend Castle. There is also a small chapel inside for weddings.

Originally, I was going to take my baby on a one-day trip to Discovery Kingdom. I was so excited at the beginning, but in the end, my baby was the one playing with me. I had a great time.

It was already noon when we got there. I found that the kingdom was not very big and there were not many people playing. I walked back and forth several times and basically played all the big and small attractions that could be played.

I've read in guides that a counterclockwise tour is best: Crazy Town, Mysterious Desert, Metal Factory, Magic Forest, Legendary Castle, Fairy Garden, and Main Street, USA. You can pick up a map at Discovery Square upon entering to help you understand the schedule for subsequent attractions and performances.

One more thing! When we went through security, they took our bread... well... but they didn't take the fruit and ham. Maybe they were worried that the restaurant in the amusement park might be doing bad business?

It was awesome! We went there just as the National Day rush hour was approaching, so the lines weren't very long. We had a lot of fun on the roller coaster and other rides. The facilities were also very nice and well worth a visit.

Transportation: It is best to find a direct bus at the train station. It is cheap and can also take you to Discoveryland. Dalian's largest theme park, especially suitable for children.

The park is quite large, and the student ticket is 150 yuan. I tried almost everything except the roller coaster. Because it was crowded during the National Day holiday, I recommend bringing your own disposable raincoat before entering the park. They're quite expensive, at 10 yuan each. Even with a raincoat, your clothes will get a little wet, so be prepared.

During the National Day holiday, the park was quite crowded. Long lines existed for all the attractions. I had an afternoon train, so I left at 5:00 PM and only enjoyed two rides. I saw a 4D movie. The go-karts were pretty good, and I waited in line for an hour. (P.S.: My mom has been to Hong Kong Disneyland and she said the lines there were also long, but they were always short. I wonder if it was a management issue.) There was a lot of queue-jumping—one person in line and someone else cut in, which was really annoying. I only rode for five minutes. There was also a rapids ride with a steep slope, so those with weak hearts shouldn't do it. A raincoat is a must. The park's permanent attractions were all good and great for photos. The parades and scheduled performances were fantastic, featuring handsome foreigners, and were a real eye-catcher. Things to buy in the park were relatively expensive. Finally, I bought my ticket at the hotel, which allowed me to take the bus for 190 yuan per person. I regretted it so much. I would have bought my own ticket and gone on my own. The express train was much faster and more convenient. The bus didn't leave until it was full. Before departure, someone on the bus said that optional park attractions that cost 100 yuan could be purchased for 65 yuan at her place, and that raincoats were 20 yuan at the park, but the entrance fee was 30 yuan, and the raincoats we bought there cost 5 yuan. It was already past 10:00 when we arrived at the park, and they told us we'd be back in town at 3:00. If we didn't leave, we wouldn't be allowed to leave. They said four or five hours was plenty of time. Overall, the amusement park is worth the price of admission and worth a visit for both adults and children.

Discovery Kingdom Amusement Park is near the Golden Stone Beach Scenic Area, the same place we visited yesterday, so there are quite a lot of attractions in the Golden Stone Beach.

The amusement park is very big and you can play here for a whole day without worrying about running out of cars after playing too late. There are many buses outside the scenic area going back to Dalian city. We played until after 7 o'clock that day before leaving the park.

It's fun, but the location is quite remote. You can book a one-day chartered car to go there and back. I had a lot of fun, but it was really sunny and I got sunburned. My nose was peeling and it was painful.

We didn’t get to ride the roller coaster. We spent 2 hours queuing for it, but it started raining when it was almost our turn...it was out of service 😂 Oh...I also saw the staff and tourists arguing and even trying to hit each other, which really dampened my mood.

As for transportation, you can take the light rail directly from the train station to Jinshitan (I think it costs 8 yuan). After getting off, there is a round-trip shuttle bus for 10 yuan, which takes about an hour. A few things to note:

1. Remember to take a map when you enter the door. It lists the time of various performances.

2. If you want to do water activities, there are disposable raincoats at the gate for 5 yuan each. You can buy them if you can. They are half the price of the scenic area, but you will really get wet.

3. Regarding queuing, it is recommended to do the Space Shuttle, Pirate Ship, Desert Storm and the like first, as there are many people at once and it is easier to queue, then take a break at noon, eat when it is hottest and go rafting, you can waste some time in the afternoon to ride the roller coaster, and finally come and go home wet.

The rides were initially closed due to the weather, but gradually opened one by one. I'm a bit timid, so I couldn't ride many. I loved the whitewater rafting, so I dragged my husband along twice. We got soaked, but it was a lot of fun. The float parade was beautiful, and I highly recommend it.

You don't have to buy tickets online; there are plenty of ticket vendors at the train station. The ticket plus the bus fare to Discovery Kingdom totaled 175 yuan, the same price as a single ticket online. Since online bookings are non-refundable, you had to pay an additional 20 yuan for the bus. Taking the light rail is not recommended; seats are not guaranteed, and it's a 2-kilometer walk from the bus stop. The light rail only goes to Golden Pebble Beach. Also, a word of caution: on windy days, most of the attractions at Discovery Kingdom are closed. We didn't realize this and spent so much time getting there. We were told at the gate that most of the attractions were closed due to the strong winds. Since the online tickets were non-refundable, we had no choice but to go inside. The bus fare and entrance fee for two people cost nearly 400 yuan, a waste of a whole day. We only went inside to see a few shows, take a few photos, and play a few small rides. It was a complete rip-off. So, if you're going, be sure to check the wind.

Discovery Kingdom is considered an older attraction. While it's packed with visitors and the ticket price is reasonable, it's still a notch below other large theme park chains in China. First, the sheer number of optional attractions is a real headache. The main attractions are limited to a handful, and they're quite common. Even the free roadside parks near my home and the children's areas of major shopping malls have these attractions everywhere. Still, it has its highlights, like the performances. Perhaps, aside from the performances, this park isn't particularly memorable. I'd rather go to Fantawild next time I have some free time.

It is broadly divided into scenic areas, including Crazy Town, Mysterious Desert, Metal Factory, Magic Forest, Legendary Castle, Wedding Hall, and Main Street USA. The most popular adventure attractions for teenagers and young adults are concentrated in Crazy Town and Mysterious Desert. Representative rides include the large roller coasters Crazy Cobra and Spin, the super pendulum Desert Storm, the Amazon Adventure water rafting facility, the large pirate ship, the bungee jumping machine, and the Energy Storm, attracting numerous visitors from both within and outside the province.
