Located at the southernmost tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, Lushunkou is a district within Dalian City, Liaoning Province, Northeast China. Formerly part of Lüda City, it borders the Yellow Sea to the east, the Bohai Sea to the west, the Shandong Peninsula to the south, and Dalian to the north, 45 kilometers from downtown Dalian.

Lushunkou District is a national scenic spot, a national nature reserve, and a national forest park. It boasts the world-renowned natural ice-free port of Lushun, serving as a maritime gateway to Beijing and Tianjin and a natural barrier to the Northeast. The newly developed Lushun New Port serves as a "golden waterway" connecting the Liaodong and Shandong Peninsulas.

It is a place worth visiting. Not only is the terrain extremely unique, the local delicacies such as sugar drums are also unique, and the experience of being able to board a submarine is also unique. It is really a place full of legends.

There are must-see attractions and check-in spots in Lushun, but please be careful not to litter!

Lushun is the largest ice-free port in the Far East. I have been saying that I should go and see it. I think it is very good.

This is a very good patriotic education base. The evidence of crimes left behind by the Japanese army are all displayed here. If you have the conditions and time, you should bring your children here to see it and tell them about that humiliating history.

When you take a taxi in Lushun, don't listen to the driver's suggestions for a snake house or submarine experience. It's a complete scam. I personally experienced this myself. I was planning to go to Baiyu Mountain to see the naval port, but I trusted the taxi driver's suggestion of a snake house (they exaggerated it, saying it was the largest in Asia, etc.). The snakes were all fake, and the snake house closed in 2017. You can check online and make your own plans to find out what legitimate attractions there are in Lushun. Best of luck to everyone.

I can only say that the one-day tour to Lushun was a rip-off. I spent more than 800 yuan and there was no real attraction except the Lushun Museum. The travel agency had a bad attitude and forgot to join the tour group. If I didn't join the tour group, I would have let them starve to death.

The sea under the sun is so beautiful! There are also fat and free-loving seagulls and dolphins! When we reached the shallow sea, the water and the sky were one color, and I felt melted. Hahahaha

The forts at Lushunkou back then. The Beiyang Fleet of the Qing Dynasty had two naval bases: Weihai and Lushunkou. So it's no surprise that Lushun is full of forts. It was the gateway to the capital, the gate to Bohai Bay. Everyone knows the story of Deng Shichang's Zhiyuan ramming the Yoshino during the First Sino-Japanese War's Battle of the Yellow Sea. The staff wouldn't let me take any photos, and instead watched me put my phone in my bag. But if you don't take any photos, you won't remember some things if you just look at them...

Due to the weather, there was heavy fog at sea, so I couldn't see the clear view of Lushunkou. But I still think Lushunkou is very beautiful.

Back then, foreign powers broke into Lushun from here. Its geographical location is extremely important, and now it has been built into a military port to defend the area.

By Time never abandons Qingzhi |

Our tour guide said, "If you come to Dalian and don't visit Lushun, you've already visited half of Dalian." We signed up without hesitation! You'll find these buildings at many attractions, a fitting tribute to the Chinese Navy. There's even the station where the farewell scene in "Romance in the Rain" was filmed, where Shuhuan and Yiping said goodbye—it's truly moving! We also watched the documentary "Impressions of Lushun," toured a Type 033 submarine, visited the phonograph museum, and climbed Baiyu Mountain, Lushun's highest mountain, to immerse ourselves in its rich revolutionary history and culture.

The "Lion's Mouth" we refer to is the nearly 300-meter-wide estuary formed by two mountains. Within this 300-meter channel, there's only a 91-meter-long channel, capable of navigating only one large warship at a time. Strategically, it's easy to defend but difficult to attack. The Port of Lushun resembles a closed bay, stretching 4 kilometers from east to west and 2 kilometers from north to south. The bay is divided into two parts, the East and West Harbors, with the curving dry beach resembling a tiger's tail. Lushun's status as a world-renowned port is closely linked to the existence of the Tiger Peninsula.

There is also a weapons display area on the mountain, with old tanks, warships, helicopters, machine guns and so on.

By He Anfei |

I remembered a song, "Night in the Naval Port".

A short stretch of the seaside promenade, like a small pier, with many seagulls gathered here. The weather was cold, there were few tourists, and many small shops were closed.

There is a corner on the side of the road with beautiful cherry blossoms and yellow stairs, which are especially beautiful for taking photos.

By Little monster fighting Ultraman |

Lushun has more old-style buildings than Dalian, all concentrated around the Lushun Museum, known locally as the Sun Valley Scenic Area. I have to praise the people of Lushun for their warmth, sincerity, and helpfulness. At a small pancake shop near the museum, I bought a hand-pulled pancake, grilled cold noodles, and soy milk. It was so cold, I wanted to eat right away. Seeing me standing in the cold wind, the beautiful owner beckoned me in, saying, "Come in and eat." Northeastern people are truly welcoming.

By liver |

To get to Lushun from Dalian, take Metro Line 1 and transfer to Rapid Rail Line 12. Transferring within the station is very convenient and affordable, much more cost-effective than taking a tourist bus. Most of Lushun's attractions are not that scattered, so you can easily get around by taking a Didi or using a shared bike.

For a trip to Lushun, I recommend visiting the summit of Baiyu Mountain for a panoramic view of the vast ocean and the perilous terrain of Lushunkou. For a more historical perspective, try the Lushun Museum and the train station. I've heard there's an Impression of Lushun show retelling Lushun's history over the past century, but I didn't see it, so I don't know what it's like.

By w_x_9887 |

Very beautiful! Looking down from Baiyu Mountain, you can see Lushunkou and the military port, which is very beautiful!

By Ranking doesn't matter to me |

My hometown train station is truly stunning! Its 100-year history is truly remarkable. Now a protected cultural relic, it's a must-see attraction in Lushun.

From Baidu: Lushun Railway Station, originally named Badedado (ПОРТЪ-АРТУРЪ), later renamed Lushunkou (Люйшунькоу). Construction began in September 1898 during the Tsarist era (now housing the station police station), serving as the southern terminus of the Sino-Russian jointly constructed Eastern China Railway (Central Eastern Railway). The current station building, originally a third-class station, was constructed after the Russo-Japanese War in 1904. The station is located on Jinggang Road in Dalian's Lushunkou District.

Lushun Station is a unique Russian-style wooden building under the jurisdiction of the Dalian Train Depot of the Shenyang Railway Bureau and is a second-class station.

However, due to the development of highway buses and rapid rail, the station was closed in 2014.

By so what |

First of all, I want to emphasize that you should not join a tour group when visiting Lushun. The tour guide will take you to a bunch of messed up places and the time is very tight. There are two of us and we signed up for a tour group for the Dalian City Tour. It cost 50 yuan per person, which seemed quite cheap. In fact, the attractions included were in a large courtyard, the Sino-Russian Friendship Tower, and the Lushun Museum. The museum was not open that day. 😒 As soon as we got on the bus, the tour guide said that all the attractions were boring and we had to spend money to go to other attractions. The first one we spent money on was the Submarine Museum (the group purchase ticket cost about 180 yuan). It was a rip-off. We entered a submarine to visit the facilities inside, stood in a small enclosed room to experience the submarine sinking, and then watched a navy performance to defend the Diaoyu Islands. The second attraction was Longhu Wetland Park, which is the kind that cars can drive directly into. If there is a wildlife park in your hometown, I personally think you can skip it. I didn't participate in this. During the free time, we went to Baiyu Mountain to overlook the entire Lushun. This is not bad. Baiyu Mountain is not high, and the car You can drive up directly. I personally think it is the most worthwhile place to visit in Lushun... The last paid item is to take a sailboat in Dalian to feed seagulls, which is quite boring... In short, if you want to go, you can take a car by yourself and just stroll around the Lushun Museum, Baiyu Mountain, and the train station to experience the history of the war. The Submarine Museum is not recommended, and group tours are not recommended. Taxis are not expensive, and there are also Mobikes. By the way, there is also a Naval Port Park, which is also very boring. Figures 1 to 8 are respectively, Lushun Museum, Sino-Russian Friendship Tower, Lushunkou (only one heavy warship can pass at a time, one man guarding the pass and ten thousand men unable to open it), the stone tablet of the Naval Port Park (for tourist photos only), the cannons of the Naval Port Park, the Submarine Museum to visit the appearance of the submarine (retired submarine), the Baiyu Mountain Tower, and overlooking Lushunkou (the right side is called Tiger Tail, and I forgot what the left side is called)

We originally planned a self-driving tour, taking a ferry from Weihai to Dalian. To save time, my wife and I went to the Weihai Port Tourist Information Center (wearing port staff uniforms) and signed up for a one-day tour from Dalian to Lushun for 150 yuan per person. The next day, we arrived and shared a bus with other individual tourists. Our guide, a man named Sun, was a complete liar and a complete jerk. He first took us to Xinghai Square, where we spent 20 minutes there before driving us to Lushun. He didn't mention any of the included attractions along the way, but instead kept pushing us on all the optional extras, like the Impression Lushun show, the Submarine Museum, and Lion and Tiger Mountain. The package price for all of them was 445 yuan per person, and the minimum purchase was two, which cost over 300 yuan per person. He exaggerated the optional extras, even bringing up Big Bear and Little Bear, and even said we could see the nuclear submarines in the naval port. Then he started charging us for each one, saying that if we didn't sign up for any, we'd have to wait the whole day. A quick search revealed that the optional activities were completely worthless. My wife and I immediately realized we'd been ripped off and boarded a scam-like day tour. We immediately decided not to go on any of them. The tour guide immediately became rude and threatened us, saying, "You'll just have to wait for me all day and see nothing." My wife and I immediately wanted to leave the tour, but the tour guide got aggressive and demanded we get off the bus immediately and sign a waiver, acknowledging that we were withdrawing voluntarily and wouldn't get a penny back. We felt we couldn't let a whole day go to waste. We decided to get off the bus, refusing the 300 yuan and taking a taxi back to the city. After letting the other tourists visit the first free attraction, the tour guide privately negotiated with us, offering us a discount, but it would still be over 300 yuan per person. Of course, my wife and I refused and decided to leave. The tour guide immediately made us sign a waiver and threatened us to give him a good review. We signed and left immediately, taking a taxi to the Port of Lushun and the Russo-Japanese Prison Site, two of the most significant attractions, both now free. Travelers, beware! Don't sign up for a Dalian-Lushun day trip. Even taxi drivers know their scams. Besides the sights, there's also shopping. Just thinking about it is terrifying. For a tour fee of less than 200 yuan, they're trying to squeeze out a profit of 700 to 800 yuan per person. It's a rip-off. It's a waste of money, but it seriously ruins your travel mood and wastes a lot of time.

Lushunkou, a really bad review. The submarine cruise simulation hall ticket is 180, and it only takes 15 minutes to enter. The small space is crammed with people. A bad review, a bad review, a bad review. 30 yuan is too expensive. It's really a rip-off. Then there are tickets for the observation deck and the warship. These are the three places. It's just to see the sea. The worst part is the simulation hall. A lot of people are crowded and watching the big screen. Don't go!

By Jerry |

We left downtown Dalian and headed towards Lushun. Unfamiliar with the area and with a weak mobile navigation system, the only landmark we finally found was this stone tablet inscribed with the name "Lushunkou Military Port." The mudflats weren't crowded, so it probably wasn't a must-see for tourists. A few brave swimmers were spotted not far from shore, and the water remained icy cold.

By Happy Ranger |

Lushunkou is a maritime gateway in the history of my country. It has a majestic and magnificent terrain and numerous cultural relics and historical sites. There are 47 key cultural relics protection units in the scenic area, including various fortifications, fortresses and other war relics that record the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, the Russo-Japanese War and the Japanese invasion of China in modern Chinese history. It is a classroom for patriotic education.

To be honest, I was quite looking forward to Lushunkou before I went there, but...

For transportation, I recommend taking a bus from the train station directly to Lushunkou. It costs 7 yuan and takes about one and a half to two hours. Note that there are two types of buses: one that goes directly, and one that stops at every station along the way! Definitely choose the direct one.

As for attractions, I am interested in history, so I think the Lushun Museum is pretty good, and the others are really boring. The Lushun Railway Station is very beautiful, but you can't go in to visit, you can only take pictures through the wall.

In short, time is limited, so proceed with caution.

Dalian is a famous seaside tourist city, but I always feel that Dalian is just a beautiful girl, beautiful but without much substance. Dalian is just a clean and beautiful seaside city with blue sky, white clouds and sea. There are many such places on the earth.

Lushunkou District, located at the southernmost tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, is a district within Dalian City, Liaoning Province, in Northeast China. Formerly part of the city of Lüda, it is a national scenic area, a national nature reserve, and a national forest park. It boasts the world-renowned natural ice-free port of Lushun, serving as the maritime gateway to Beijing and Tianjin and a natural barrier to Northeast China. The military port featured in "Night at the Naval Port" is Lushun Port.

Compared to Dalian, Lushun has a variety of scenery. Lushun was once closed to the public because of its world-famous military port. Although the city has developed relatively slowly, the whole town is quiet and quaint.

In Lushun you

You can find a beach and stay quietly doing nothing but watching the sea and the seagulls flying around.

You can climb up Baiyu Mountain to see the panoramic view of Lushun. Lushun is surrounded by mountains on three sides and is close to the sea only on the south. During the day, you can see the sea and sky merge into one, and at night, you can watch the stars light up the harbor.

You can go to the Laotieshan Lighthouse to see the boundary between the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea. When the weather is clear, you can clearly see a line on the sea, with turbid water on one side and clear water on the other.

You can visit Lushun Prison, East Jiguan Mountain North Fortress and other war sites to recall the war and never forget the national humiliation.

You can visit Snake Island, home to over 13,000 snakes. Only one species, the Black-browed Agkistrodon, is known for its venom. While it seems generally off-limits, you can visit the Snake House, where you can see a variety of snakes, large and small. There's also a Butterfly House and a Space Museum nearby.

You can also visit the Lushun Museum. Although Lushun is only a district in Dalian, the Lushun Museum is a national first-class museum.

Come to Lushun in spring to see the blossoms. The cherry blossom garden at Longwangtang in Lushun is one of the most famous in China. Within the garden is a nationally renowned star magnolia. Guo Moruo, who visited here during his lifetime, admired the tree greatly. He said it was the largest in China, over 50 years old.

Come to Lushun in the summer to see the sea. Lushun has a pleasant climate in the summer, and there are various types of sea to meet different people's needs, such as reefs, pebbles, sand beaches, etc.

Come to Lushun in autumn to see the trees. Lushun in autumn is cool and crisp, and the various trees are colorful and beautiful.

Come to Lushun in winter to see the snow. Every city is beautiful when it snows, but Lushun is a quiet city with few people. Lushun also has many pine trees. The snow hanging on the pine trees against the backdrop of Russian-style buildings is very exotic.

The so-called Lushunkou Scenic Area is a general term for the numerous scenic spots, both large and small, within the area. There's a direct bus from Dalian Railway Station to Lushunkou, passing by Lushun Railway Station, the Naval Museum, the Russo-Japanese Prison, and other attractions, making transportation very convenient. If time permits, a visit to Dalian is highly recommended. This small city, located at the southernmost tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, has witnessed countless historical events and stories. Must-see attractions within Lushun include the Baiyu Mountain Scenic Area, where the summit offers panoramic views of the entire Lushun Port. Descending to the base of the mountain, the Lushun Naval Port is also worth a visit. The nearby Taiyanggou area is also highly recommended. The Children's Park is perfect for children, and the trees along Baishan Street are unique, creating a unique scenery that changes with each season. The Taiyanggou Museum area houses the Lushun Museum and the Snake Museum. Not only are the exhibits within the museums impressive, but the architecture itself is also stunning! Furthermore, the many old buildings near Taiyanggou are also unique; you might stumble across a house where Puyi once lived! The Yellow Sea-Bohai Sea boundary at Laotie Mountain on the outskirts of the city is highly recommended. From its vantage point, you can clearly see the boundary between the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea – a truly breathtaking sight! The Dongjiguan Mountain Scenic Area and the 203 Scenic Area are also ideal for visiting in spring and autumn, when the flowers are in bloom and the leaves are in full bloom. In spring, the 203 scenic area hosts a cherry blossom festival. The Butterfly House is also a great place, where you can see many rare butterfly species and even buy a cocoon to take home and wait for it to slowly transform into a butterfly. In the summer, there are many bathing beaches along the Lushun coastline for swimming. Wangjiacun Bathing Beach in Beihai has been very popular in recent years, and you can also find plenty of clams while swimming. In short, Lushun is a truly enchanting place. As a Dalian native, even after visiting several times, I'm still fascinated by it!

There are so many people taking photos here. When one person finishes taking a photo and walks away, many people next to him will immediately run forward. It is impossible to take a separate photo of the scenery unless you wait patiently for all the tourists to finish taking photos and leave.

The Lushunkou Scenic Area represents history. Only by understanding the history of this place can you truly experience it. The attractions are relatively simple and can only be considered average.

I'm not very interested in this. It's suitable for friends who are interested in military affairs. If you are not passing by, I don't recommend going there on purpose.

The small military port city of Lushun is a place worth slowing down and savoring. Get to know it and you'll be surprised to find that its story is equivalent to half of China's modern history, with stunning scenery and rich history.

Lushunkou is located next to Lushun Naval Port, but I didn't see any warships. What a pity. The photos I took with the warships were all composite photos.

Lushunkou District is a national scenic area, a national nature reserve, and a national forest park. It boasts the world-renowned natural ice-free port of Lushun, serving as a maritime gateway to Beijing and Tianjin and a natural barrier to the Northeast. The newly opened Lushun New Port serves as the "golden waterway" connecting the Liaodong Peninsula and the Shandong Peninsula. Blessed with unique natural conditions, the Lushun Naval Port is a world-renowned natural harbor. Located outside the railway station, the port boasts a strategic location, offering visitors a breathtaking view of the majestic naval warships. The east side of the port has been designated a public park, and its bronze lions are a symbol of Lushunkou. The Lushun Museum, a museum of Chinese history and art, is located on Lenin Street in Dalian's Lushunkou District. It houses over 30,000 cultural relics, including 45 first-class items. Among its most valuable pieces are the bronze Lü Ding, with a 5-line, 44-character inscription on its bottom. "Lü" refers to Lü Hou, the Minister of Justice of King Mu of the Western Zhou Dynasty; a Western Han Dynasty horse-hoof gold coin; and Liu Bingqian's "Bamboo and Rock Painting" from the Yuan Dynasty. There are also nine mummies from the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the Tang Dynasty, as well as Han and Tang Dynasty cultural relics such as silk fabrics, silk paintings, pottery figurines, and coins unearthed in Xinjiang, as well as foreign cultural relics such as Gandhara stone carvings from India and Japanese paintings.

It is best to wait until the children are older and know the history before visiting this place, otherwise they will have no impression of it.

I was greatly disappointed by the forts and snake houses in Lushun. I originally followed the travel agency and thought it would be easier, but it turned out to be an unpleasant trip.

This is a tunnel under Baitashan Park in Lushun. It feels quite long. I didn’t go in and went straight up the mountain.

The waves at the beach in Lushun are very big, the water is very clean, there is no beach, only gravel, so be sure not to go barefoot.
