The Dadongshu Mountain Pass is 4,120 meters above sea level. It was snowing when we arrived. It was really cold. Even with a down jacket and a heat pack, we still couldn't stand the weather. Maybe it was because we were too excited that we didn't feel any altitude sickness when we jumped up and down on the snow. We just arrived at such a high altitude area, so we shouldn't be too excited. I have to say that the scenery at the Dadongshu Mountain Pass is really beautiful. If it weren't too cold or time constraints, I think I could find a corner and stare at the scenery all day.

There are many cars parked in the parking lot and on the roadside at Dadongshu Mountain Pass, and many people are taking pictures. Because of the high altitude, they are out of breath after jumping, but they are only one foot off the ground. The thumping sound when they land is frightening, but they are happy to do it. They jump up and take pictures again and again. If they are not satisfied, they jump again and take pictures until they are satisfied. Passing vehicles can only avoid them. Taking pictures is okay, but safety is more important. You still have to give way when you see a car coming.

So many people were queuing up to take photos at "4120" that it was difficult to take a single photo.

What attracted me most here was a group of Tibetans doing "煨桑". After the cypress branches were lit, thick smoke came out, and then they sprinkled the things they brought on the burning branches, making the smoke even thicker.

They lined up and circled the "煨桑台" clockwise. The person in the front was blowing a conch shell, and the "woohoo" sound drifted far away. The others held "wind horses" in their hands and threw them into the sky, while they turned and recited scriptures, with solemn and serious expressions.

The pass goes down the mountain to the south with a relatively gentle slope. There are open grasslands and herds of cattle and sheep. The wild flowers on the grassland are beautiful, the sky is particularly blue, and white clouds bloom in the sky.

I was taking pictures while breathing in the fresh air. Although the oxygen was thin, I didn't feel anything strange. Instead, I felt comfortable all over.

The scenery here is beautiful, and everyone passing by here will stop and stay to experience the feeling of the plateau.

The wind on the mountain is very strong and very cold, so remember to wear more clothes. This is the only way to the Qilian Mountains. There are cattle and sheep all over the mountains along the way, and the scenery is pristine.

The Qilian Mountains are located at the junction of Qinghai and Gansu. From the north side of Qinghai Lake, leave National Highway 315 (between Gangcha and Atomic City) and head north, then take Provincial Highway 204 and go up the mountain. The scenery along the way is very beautiful and the road conditions are also good. It is worth a walk.



We have to pass through the Dadongshu Mountain Pass in Qilian Mountain, which is 4120 meters above sea level. It is the highest point of our trip.

We continued to drive towards Zhuoer Mountain from Dadongshu Mountain Pass. I looked at the map and thought the road down the mountain had many bends, so I was worried whether it would be dangerous. But it turned out to be much easier than we thought. The road was relatively flat and the bends were not very sharp, so we could rest assured. It was just that when it rained or snowed, the road was slippery, so we needed to pay special attention.

Dadongshushan Pass is located on Provincial Highway 204 from Qinghai Lake to Qilian County in Qinghai Province. It is 4120.6 meters above sea level and is the highest point on this road. The scenery here is beautiful. People passing by here have to stop and stay to experience the feeling of the plateau. On both sides of the pass are endless alpine meadows with lush water and grass. Sheep and yaks are scattered all over the mountains and plains, and cattle and sheep are grazing leisurely on the hillside. There is also a rest stop here where tourists can get off the bus to enjoy the scenery. After getting off the bus, you really feel the temperature drop sharply. It is safer to wear a down jacket. It is really cold.

This is the highest point that can be climbed nearby. It has special significance, but there is no special scenery.

There is still snow on the mountain. I arrived here on the last day and no longer have altitude sickness. I feel the cold wind comfortably.

The altitude is over 4,100 meters. When we were at the mountain pass, a cold wind suddenly hit us and snow began to fall. It was the first time we saw snow in early August. After we passed the mountain pass and went down to the middle of the mountain, it was sunny again.

A check-in spot, many people come here to take photos, there is nothing special to recommend, it is more of a commemorative place.

My husband and I followed the Tibetan tradition on the top of the mountain and made a Mani pile to pray for a safe journey. It felt quite decent. Please don't tear it down if you pass by. Haha. Due to the high altitude, people with heart disease and high blood pressure are advised not to stay too long and go down the mountain as soon as possible after watching to avoid altitude sickness.

We arrived at the highest point in Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia and Qingchuan - Dadongshu Mountain Pass at an altitude of 4,120 meters. Just talking about the Yakou, there are prayer flags and pagodas, and the natural environment is very beautiful. The premise is to ignore the groups of tourists and local vendors. Commercialization is inevitable, and the environment near the road is dirty. But please go up the mountain. The higher you go, the farther you can get from the noisy voices below. Listen to the wind quietly, walk around the pagoda to calm your mind, and look at the scenery in the distance. In fact, the roads in both directions to the Yakou are very beautiful, and the scenery is full of eyes. And it is a completely different scenery. The road to Qilian crosses several different vegetation types, from the bald mountain top without vegetation to the transition zone from moss to forest and grassland, and there are sheep and yaks all over the mountains, which are overwhelming. There are more grassland wetlands in the direction of Mole, and there are occasional local characteristic houses on the roadside. It should be noted that the road from Mole Town to the Yakou is under construction, and the road conditions are very poor.

It looks vast and magnificent, and it is also a good place to take pictures.

The scenery is beautiful and worth a visit, but you can't see ice and snow. It's a pity that the quality of tourists is so poor. Most of them are garbage left by self-driving tourists after camping and barbecue, plastic bags, plastic bottles, instant noodle paper bowls, watermelon peels, whole bags of garbage, etc., which really greatly reduce the beauty. There are no staff to clean the free attractions. Some people only care about their own happiness and don't care about the lives of others. It's really hateful.
