There are many cars parked in the parking lot and on the roadside at Dadongshu Mountain Pass, and many people are taking pictures. Because of the high altitude, they are out of breath after jumping, but they are only one foot off the ground. The thumping sound when they land is frightening, but they are happy to do it. They jump up and take pictures again and again. If they are not satisfied, they jump again and take pictures until they are satisfied. Passing vehicles can only avoid them. Taking pictures is okay, but safety is more important. You still have to give way when you see a car coming.
So many people were queuing up to take photos at "4120" that it was difficult to take a single photo.
What attracted me most here was a group of Tibetans doing "煨桑". After the cypress branches were lit, thick smoke came out, and then they sprinkled the things they brought on the burning branches, making the smoke even thicker.
They lined up and circled the "煨桑台" clockwise. The person in the front was blowing a conch shell, and the "woohoo" sound drifted far away. The others held "wind horses" in their hands and threw them into the sky, while they turned and recited scriptures, with solemn and serious expressions.
The pass goes down the mountain to the south with a relatively gentle slope. There are open grasslands and herds of cattle and sheep. The wild flowers on the grassland are beautiful, the sky is particularly blue, and white clouds bloom in the sky.
I was taking pictures while breathing in the fresh air. Although the oxygen was thin, I didn't feel anything strange. Instead, I felt comfortable all over.
The scenery here is beautiful, and everyone passing by here will stop and stay to experience the feeling of the plateau.
The wind on the mountain is very strong and very cold, so remember to wear more clothes. This is the only way to the Qilian Mountains. There are cattle and sheep all over the mountains along the way, and the scenery is pristine.
The scenery around this place is very beautiful, with mountains and forests on one side and flat plains on the other.
Dadongshu Mountain Pass is a natural landscape in Haibei Prefecture, Qinghai Province. It was selected into the list of 100 "most beautiful scenic spots" in Qinghai by China National Geographic.
The Dadongshushan Pass we crossed today is the road from Qilian to Gangcha near Qinghai Lake. This is a road that runs completely inside the Qilian Mountains. Originally, this road was a secret place that crossed Qinghai and Gansu every summer, and there were quite a few tourists, but this year the road was under construction. After asking the innkeeper for the detailed route, I still didn't want to miss this beautiful road, so I set off with trepidation.
The Qilian Mountains are located at the junction of Qinghai and Gansu. From the north side of Qinghai Lake, leave National Highway 315 (between Gangcha and Atomic City) and head north, then take Provincial Highway 204 and go up the mountain. The scenery along the way is very beautiful and the road conditions are also good. It is worth a walk.
We have to pass through the Dadongshu Mountain Pass in Qilian Mountain, which is 4120 meters above sea level. It is the highest point of our trip.
When I was making the travel guide, I knew that driving from Gangcha to Qilian would require passing the 4,120-meter Dadongshu Mountain Pass. I was a little worried about whether my parents would have altitude sickness.
It was sunny when we went there, and the mountain was not cold, but there was a little wind. We stayed at the pass for more than half an hour, and no one reacted. Except that I felt a little tired when I stood up every time I squatted down to take pictures of them, everything else was fine.
So my parents thought we could consider going to Lhasa next time.
There are just a few sights here for you to take pictures of your license plate. There's nothing else to do. It's just a roadside station.
We continued to drive towards Zhuoer Mountain from Dadongshu Mountain Pass. I looked at the map and thought the road down the mountain had many bends, so I was worried whether it would be dangerous. But it turned out to be much easier than we thought. The road was relatively flat and the bends were not very sharp, so we could rest assured. It was just that when it rained or snowed, the road was slippery, so we needed to pay special attention.
A must-visit check-in spot. The corn next to the scenic spot is so sweet~Haha~Just check in when you pass by~
Dadongshushan Pass is located on Provincial Highway 204 from Qinghai Lake to Qilian County in Qinghai Province. It is 4120.6 meters above sea level and is the highest point on this road. The scenery here is beautiful. People passing by here have to stop and stay to experience the feeling of the plateau. On both sides of the pass are endless alpine meadows with lush water and grass. Sheep and yaks are scattered all over the mountains and plains, and cattle and sheep are grazing leisurely on the hillside. There is also a rest stop here where tourists can get off the bus to enjoy the scenery. After getting off the bus, you really feel the temperature drop sharply. It is safer to wear a down jacket. It is really cold.
This is the highest point that can be climbed nearby. It has special significance, but there is no special scenery.
There is still snow on the mountain. I arrived here on the last day and no longer have altitude sickness. I feel the cold wind comfortably.
The altitude is over 4,100 meters. When we were at the mountain pass, a cold wind suddenly hit us and snow began to fall. It was the first time we saw snow in early August. After we passed the mountain pass and went down to the middle of the mountain, it was sunny again.
A check-in spot, many people come here to take photos, there is nothing special to recommend, it is more of a commemorative place.
This is almost the highest point of the Qinghai Grand Loop, 4120 meters above sea level, a place very worth commemorating and taking photos!
You have to go early to see the sea of clouds. This was my second time here. The first time was at 9:30 in the morning. It was also around this month. The weather was cloudy and there happened to be a sea of clouds. The clouds retreated around 10 o'clock.
The weather was really good this time. When we got here, the visibility was basically very high, and we could see the scenery below the mountain. The photo was taken at around 10 am, but it was still quite cold. Remember to wear more clothes when taking photos to avoid catching a cold! My husband and I followed the Tibetan tradition on the top of the mountain and made a Mani pile to pray for a safe journey. It felt quite decent. Please don't tear it down if you pass by. Haha. Due to the high altitude, people with heart disease and high blood pressure are advised not to stay too long and go down the mountain as soon as possible after watching to avoid altitude sickness.
We arrived at the highest point in Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia and Qingchuan - Dadongshu Mountain Pass at an altitude of 4,120 meters. It was snowing heavily and the snowflakes were falling unrestrainedly. It felt very beautiful. We came to the 4,120-meter mark, the dividing line between Kunlun Mountain and Qilian Mountain. It is gradually famous because it is the highest point on the only way from Qinghai Lake to Qilian. Most people can adapt to the altitude here, and our group basically did not have obvious altitude sickness.
I think the significance of this is the scenery along the way, including this bumpy massage road at an altitude of 4120 meters. There will really be altitude sickness, so you should be careful.
The scenery along the way to the Dadongshu Mountain Pass is very beautiful. Of course, this pass is more beautiful and has a slightly higher altitude. Those who are not feeling well should walk slowly.
The only way to Qilian County. The highest point in life. I was in a hurry and my heartbeat really accelerated. There was an 8-year-old boy next to me who had altitude sickness and needed oxygen. The scenery was beautiful and the view was wide.
For 4120, I challenge myself
The temperature was 3 degrees that day, accompanied by light rain, and every step was really measured with life.
The highest pass on the Qilian side is 4120 meters above sea level. There is nothing special about it, so we did not stay there for long.
It is a must-go on the loop line. Almost all the cars passing by will stop to take pictures of the altitude. Well, it is a new height in life. There are strong winds at the pass all year round. It was really cold and raining when we went there. It's time to show your anti-freeze ability.
Just talking about the Yakou, there are prayer flags and pagodas, and the natural environment is very beautiful. The premise is to ignore the groups of tourists and local vendors. Commercialization is inevitable, and the environment near the road is dirty. But please go up the mountain. The higher you go, the farther you can get from the noisy voices below. Listen to the wind quietly, walk around the pagoda to calm your mind, and look at the scenery in the distance. In fact, the roads in both directions to the Yakou are very beautiful, and the scenery is full of eyes. And it is a completely different scenery. The road to Qilian crosses several different vegetation types, from the bald mountain top without vegetation to the transition zone from moss to forest and grassland, and there are sheep and yaks all over the mountains, which are overwhelming. There are more grassland wetlands in the direction of Mole, and there are occasional local characteristic houses on the roadside. It should be noted that the road from Mole Town to the Yakou is under construction, and the road conditions are very poor.
The scenery along the way is very beautiful, beautiful Qinghai, a place I want to go
There were too many people, all of them were there to take pictures, so I had to include everyone in the shot. The wind at the pass was very strong and cold. It's a pity that you can't see the snow-capped mountains in July and August. There will be snow-capped mountains in May or November.
It was huge. We were standing at an altitude of 4120 meters. The wind was strong and cold. After crossing this, it was difficult to get through. The steep downhill road would cause altitude sickness. Many altitude sicknesses occurred in this section of the road.
Dadongshu Mountain Pass is the highest point we passed on this trip and also the place with the lowest temperature.
When we arrived at the fork of Dadongshu Mountain, it was drizzling and very cold. The temperature was 6 degrees Celsius and we were shivering even in our down jackets.
The altitude here is already 4120 meters. The snow is very thick, and some of the softer snow can submerge your ankles when you step on it.
The altitude is 4120 meters. It is the first time for the 9-member team to reach an altitude of more than 4000 meters. We felt a little pain when going up and down the mountain, in the ears and head, but it was very minor. Everyone was fine at the pass and very relaxed. We stayed there for half an hour, took photos, bought roasted sweet potatoes (delicious), and roasted potatoes. The one who took the photo for us was a big brother selling sweet potatoes. He was very happy after taking the photos of the food we bought from him. We also took the first and only group photo of this trip.
The highest point in Qinghai, there will be some altitude sickness, but the view is relatively wide.
From Gangcha County to Qilian County, you must pass through the Qilian Mountains. Even in the summer between July and August, it is still cold here, so you need to wear a thick coat. At the pass towards Qilian County, you can see the twists and turns of the mountain road.
The main feature of Dadongshu Pass is the 4,120-meter mark. Because of the high altitude and snow, the temperature is very low, so please keep warm. There are also stacked stones for prayer everywhere.
Altitude 4120 meters, I will love you till death. When the car reached here, the lack of oxygen was the most serious. The teacher who was fine a few days ago suffered from altitude sickness here, with headache and vomiting. Altitude sickness comes suddenly and never follows the routine.
At an altitude of 4120 meters, there is a platform on the side of the road, which is paved with small stones of various colors. There is a 4120 sign and prayer flags, and you can overlook the winding mountain road below.
Lone Ranger ~ Qinghai trip! The scenery is beautiful, but the wind gives people a headache!
The grasslands and hills had lost their excitement because we had experienced so much. It was not until we encountered the snow-capped peaks and reached the Dadongshu Mountain Pass at an altitude of 4,120 meters that the excitement in our hearts was rekindled. However, the slight headache caused by the altitude sickness accompanied the entire journey.
4120 Dadongshu Pass. Those who have been there must be very familiar with it, and you must take a photo. After passing the pass, you will reach the heavenly Qilian Mountains by spiraling down.
The altitude is 4120 meters. It was very cold when I got off the car. I guess the temperature was only about 5 degrees. The weather here was not very good and there were many people. I didn't stay for too long. The prayer flags were quite impressive.
The most iconic feature of Dadongshu Mountain is the sign with an altitude of 4120 meters. It is the highest mountain around Qinghai Lake. The scenery along the way is beautiful, mainly including the Qilian Prairie, Datong River, Binggou Forest, etc. It is the best place to see the grassland.
The wind was so strong and cold. I took a photo, looked at the scenery and left.
At an altitude of 4120 meters, prayer flags are floating in such a holy place
The Dadongshu Mountain Pass at an altitude of 4,120 meters is the highest altitude we have reached in the past three days. The temperature was -11℃ and we could feel the air was thinner.
This is the highest point of the trip. Interestingly, after we got off the car and stood in front of the 4120 sign to take pictures, several cars suddenly drove over, and more than a dozen people got off and stood neatly on the base of the sign. At first, I thought they were going to take a group photo. I looked for them but couldn't find the photographer. Could it be that these people have some misunderstanding about the altitude of 4120? It's not that you have reached 4120 meters only by standing on the base of the 4120 sign. There are relatively higher slopes next to it. If you want to challenge it, you can try it. What's the point of standing here? Just like every mountain pass we passed before, there are large areas of prayer flags chanting silently, and there are also small vendors doing business here. This should be the small business with the most difficult working environment. In addition to this altitude sign, on the side of the sign number 4 (please forgive me for not being able to find the north anymore), there is a continuous rolling mountain peaks, some of which are covered with snow. It looks vast and magnificent, and it is also a good place to take pictures.
Dadongshu Mountain Pass is a mountain pass at an altitude of 4120 meters. There was no altitude sickness. Maybe everyone was mentally prepared for entering the plateau. They moved slowly, felt relaxed, and ate more fruits and vegetables. At the pass, Tibetans were praying for hope.
Dadongshu Mountain Pass is a mountain pass with an altitude of 4120 meters. There is no altitude sickness, so you can just take photos and check in.
When we went there in June, we encountered heavy snow on the mountain pass.
The highest pass from Qinghai Lake to Qilian, just take a photo and check in. When I passed by, I saw that it was not easy for the vendors to do business in such a cold weather, so I bought a bag of roasted sweet potatoes and potatoes and left in a hurry. The stones in the parking lot are not small, so cars with low chassis should be careful when leaving the parking lot
We arrived here at night. The altitude of 4120 was exciting. It happened to snow. It was an unforgettable trip. The big sign with the numbers 4120 was full of tourists taking photos, so I didn’t upload any pictures, haha.
The wind was super strong. I ran back to the car right after taking the pictures because it was too cold. Hahaha. Standing there, you can see the whole valley. It is very spectacular. The blue sky and white clouds with the colorful prayer flags are really beautiful.
The winding mountain road is very steep and requires a very skilled driver to ensure safety.
This is the highest point we reached on this trip - Dadongshu Pass, with an altitude of 4120.6 meters. When we were about to reach the pass, the road was blocked for more than half an hour. Due to time constraints, we did not stop the car and just sat in the car to take pictures.
It was already evening when I passed by there, and it was getting dark. It was the highest point in Qilian Mountain, so I took a photo. Above 3000, my ears were a little abnormal, and at 4120, I didn't dare to run, for fear that my heart would beat too fast. But apart from the abnormal ears, I didn't feel much when I was there, but after returning to Beijing, I always felt that I had gained weight. Later I thought that it should be altitude sickness, and my face was swollen. Haha, it's a prelude to going to Tibet. It's worth experiencing.
Dadongshu Mountain Pass, 4120 meters, is the only way from Qinghai Lake to Qilian. On October 2, I set out from Qinghai Lake and passed through Dadongshu Mountain Pass to Qilian Zhuoer Mountain. I was very lucky to see the most beautiful side of Qilian Mountain, the snow-capped mountains. Usually there are green grass, blue sky and white clouds, but I enjoyed the beautiful scenery of snow-capped mountains, blue sky and white clouds.
From Qilian County to Dadongshu Mountain Pass, there are beautiful scenery along the way.
A scenic spot on the way, no entrance fee is charged. If you are lucky enough, it is great to see the snow scene. Be sure to climb to the top of the mountain to see it.
The scenery is beautiful, but there is also altitude sickness, after all, the sea level is so high
When the weather is good, the surrounding scenery is very beautiful, but the disadvantage is that there are no public toilets.
It is one of the routes from Xining to Qilian. With an altitude of 4120 meters, winding roads and fluttering prayer flags, come here if you like mountains; come here if you are interested in Tibetan Buddhism; come here if you are full of awe for nature, what are you waiting for? Come here quickly
It’s the only way from Qilian to Gangcha County. It was noon when we arrived, but we were still frozen. The scenery is very beautiful!
A scenic spot near Qilian County, very good, like it
It was too cold at an altitude of 4120 meters, but the view from a distance was really nice. It was a pity that we went there too late, so we couldn't take cool and beautiful road photos, but it was worth it to experience the beautiful scenery of the smoky mountains. I bought sweet potatoes here, but they were not cooked haha, the boiling point was too low, so I had to make do with it.
It's a very beautiful place. When I passed by, there was fog in the valley, which was really beautiful.
Dadongshushan Pass is located in Qilian County, Haibei City, with an altitude of 4,120 meters. It is the highest point in the itinerary of most self-driving Sichuan-Tibet Highway travelers. On both sides of the pass are endless alpine meadows with lush grass and water. Sheep and yaks are scattered all over the mountains and graze leisurely on the hillside. There is also a rest stop here where tourists can get off the car to enjoy the scenery and take a rest and prepare for the next trip. When I passed here, the outdoor temperature was 8 degrees. Not long after, it was foggy.
All the people were taking pictures with 4120. It felt average. I just wanted to prove that I had reached this kilometer. I was a little out of breath after running.
Starting from the icy ditch, the altitude kept rising. After about half an hour, the car arrived at Dadongshu Mountain Pass, which is 4,120 meters above sea level. It is the highest place we have visited during our trip to Qinghai and Gansu. I didn't feel the high altitude, but the wind was too strong and the temperature was too low, which made me very cold and I couldn't stay there.
This is the only way from Qilian to Qinghai Lake. The pass refers to the obvious depression on the ridge in the shape of a saddle, where two peaks meet. The wind at the pass is particularly strong. Locals only need to cross the pass to go up the mountain. They can use the shortest route to enter or exit the mountain. There are alpine grasslands with abundant water and grass on both sides of the pass. Sheep and yaks can be seen scattered all over the mountains on the pass. There are pagodas and prayer flags on the pass. If it is a snowy winter season, it should be more spectacular and the road is relatively dangerous. If you can see snow flying all over the sky, you will have no regrets. The clouds you see here will be particularly low, and it feels like you can touch them with your hand. The scenery is beautiful and worth a visit, but you can't see ice and snow. It's a pity that the quality of tourists is so poor. Most of them are garbage left by self-driving tourists after camping and barbecue, plastic bags, plastic bottles, instant noodle paper bowls, watermelon peels, whole bags of garbage, etc., which really greatly reduce the beauty. There are no staff to clean the free attractions. Some people only care about their own happiness and don't care about the lives of others. It's really hateful.
It is the pass that is the closest route from Qinghai Lake to Qilian County, and a very distinctive mountain pass.
It seemed to be the highest point of the entire journey. It was all shrouded in clouds and mist, and I couldn't see where I came from or where I was going back.
If you come during the peak season, it will be hot and there will be no snow so you can't see the rest of the Bayi Glacier. The scenery is just okay, but the scenery along the way is good.
In places with higher altitudes, you can see far from where you stand, and the scenery is quite nice.
The highest point during the trip is Dadongshu Pass, where you can walk on the snow and overlook the mountains.
Altitude 4120
It's so beautiful here! The white clouds and snow are just like a dream!
I thought it would be a pity to miss Chaka, but when I came here, I found that the beauty of the snow-capped mountains shocked me even more!
Because we went there in May, the snow was quite thick! It was really beautiful!
Standing on the commanding heights, looking down the mountain! The sky is full of snow-capped peaks! The real beauty of it cannot be captured by a mobile phone!
Which is more beautiful, the clouds or the snow-capped mountains? When put together, they form a painting.
I strongly requested to go there. It was still snowing in early June. It was beautiful, with thick snow.
Dadongshu Pass is located on the S204 Provincial Road in Qilian County, Haibei Prefecture, Qinghai Province, about 35km away from Qilian County, with an altitude of 4120m.
You will pass by here when you go from Qilian to Gangcha. There is a building sign at the pass with an altitude of 4120 meters, with prayer flags next to it. Snow-capped mountains can be seen in the distance. The scenery is very spectacular. I went here in late May and there was still thick snow...
If there happens to be snow when you get there, you can play around here and take a few photos of the snow. Even if the snow is gone, the snow peaks in the distance should definitely still be there, and you can take photos of them, and the scenery won't be too bad.
If the weather is good, the cloud videos taken with your mobile phone time-lapse photography are absolutely stunning... You will find that the blue sky and white clouds can be so close here...
The first stop in the morning was to cross the highest point of this trip - Dadongshu Mountain Pass, with an altitude of 4120.6 meters! ! This is really quite high ~ For the time being, it is the highest place I have ever been in my life ~ It is already the snow line ~ It is said that it snowed heavily the day before yesterday, and I could clearly feel that my breathing was not so smooth (actually I don’t know if it was caused by the cold). This also means that from now on, we will enter the real Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Although the average altitude is not as high as Tibet, it is also above 3500! ! Fortunately, no one had altitude sickness~~
The Dadongshu Mountain Pass is 4,120 meters above sea level. It was snowing when we arrived. It was really cold. Even with a down jacket and a heat pack, we still couldn't stand the weather. Maybe it was because we were too excited that we didn't feel any altitude sickness when we jumped up and down on the snow. We just arrived at such a high altitude area, so we shouldn't be too excited. I have to say that the scenery at the Dadongshu Mountain Pass is really beautiful. If it weren't too cold or time constraints, I think I could find a corner and stare at the scenery all day.
