Delingha Alien Ruins Scenic Area

The alien ruins are located on the south bank of Lake Tosu. From a distance, the yellow-gray cliffs 50 to 60 meters above the ground look like a pyramid.
There are three obvious triangular caves on the front of the mountain. The middle one is the largest, more than 2 meters above the ground, about 6 meters deep, and nearly 8 meters at the highest point.
Above the cave entrance, there are more than 10 pipes of different diameters that penetrate into the mountain. The pipe walls fit perfectly with the rock, as if the pipes were directly inserted into the rock.
Around the lake and the cave, there are a lot of rusty iron-like slag, pipes of varying sizes, and strange-shaped stones scattered around. There is also a string of mysterious symbols and unsolved letters on the sandstone rock formations.

There are only two or three locals setting up stalls. There is no gate to the scenic area, and few people drive dozens of kilometers to come here. From a distance, the yellow-gray cliff, which is 50 to 60 meters above the ground, looks like a pyramid. There are three obvious triangular caves on the front of the mountain. A rusty metal tube with a diameter of about 40 cm is embedded in the wall of the largest cave, and the upper end leads to the top of the mountain. Around the cave and the shore of Tosu Lake, there are a lot of rusty iron-like slag, various pipes of different thicknesses and strange stones. It is said that this is the remains left by aliens. The lake is boundless, surrounded by endless Gobi and barren mountains, a scene of the end of the world "sea" corner that is desolate and rarely visited by people.

The Delingha alien site is located in Baigong Mountain, more than 40 kilometers southwest of Delingha, the capital of Qaidam. There is a UFO mark on it. This is the legendary Delingha alien site. China's first "strange circle" was discovered near the Delingha alien site in Qinghai. Since ancient times, the "wheat circle" phenomenon has only appeared in Western countries. Now a giant "desert strange circle" has appeared in the Delingha area of Qinghai Province in China. The Delingha alien site is about 40 kilometers out of Delingha City along National Highway 315 in the direction of Dunhuang. There is an obvious sign on the road, which is a UFO mark. This is the legendary Delingha alien site. This legendary "alien site" is located in Baigong Mountain, more than 40 kilometers southwest of Delingha, the capital of Qaidam. Baigong Mountain is adjacent to Crook Lake and Tosu Lake in the north. This is a famous pair of twin lakes in the local area, one fresh and one salty. They are called "Lover Lakes" and have beautiful and moving legends.

I don’t know if this roadside thing is a real scenic spot or not. Maybe it’s just a sign. Anyway, there were a lot of people there, so we just joined in the fun.

By Guannan Liang Chaowei |

It's just a gimmick. You can take a look when you pass by, but there is no need to go there specifically.

By Shanxi Qihang Tourism Consulting |

The scenery is beautiful, a wonder of nature, it's worth a visit!

By Small Flower |

The road leading in is so beautiful, with endless yellow sand and calm lake water. If it weren't for the strong wind and sand, it would be nice to take some photos.

By Fruit Man JO |

The scenic area was closed, the lake was in high tide, and cars and people were not allowed to pass or leave.

After begging for a long time, the master said, "Aren't you afraid that the wolf will eat you?"

I said, "I'm not afraid."

Then he said, “Then go ahead.”

So today I hiked alone in an uninhabited area.

I am the only one between heaven and earth.

When I walked to the entrance of the alien cave, I found that the cave was sealed by a large glass.

Then, I saw myself in front of the crystal glass.

Well, the universe is saying: You are an alien.

Hahahaha.

Every attraction is a matter of opinion. Some people think it's fun, but I think it's a bit of a rip-off. It's free, no tickets required. You can finish it in two minutes.

By Fish |

The main thing is that there is a metal pipe in the hole that seems to be left by aliens. To be honest, I don’t think it is natural at all.

At least the wall at the entrance was definitely man-made, and every corner was filled with feces, indicating a complete lack of management.

By xcj6551 |

The road to the alien ruins is hard to find. The road signs on the side of the highway are unclear. Just drive along the side of Tosu Lake.

By outsider |

It is said that when you look down from the sky, you can see a huge symmetrical pattern, similar to the "crop circles" in the West. There is no signal in the cave, but there is a steel pipe outside. According to research, when the steel pipe was formed, humans had not yet mastered the skills of steelmaking, and some elements in the steel pipe are not yet discovered by humans. Therefore, some people speculate that it was done by aliens. Combined with the natural environment near the freshwater lake where there is almost no grass, perhaps aliens really exist. The alien ruins added a lot of mystery to this trip to the northwest.

By Zhang Minzai |

The real alien ruins are located on the south bank of the salty Tosu Lake, and the road conditions are more difficult to travel. The driver took us to the roadside to see this stone tablet. It is said that it has now been demolished as an illegal building. What a rip-off.

By Let's go together |

A combined ticket for the three attractions of Koruk Lake, Tosu Lake and the Alien Ruins is sold for 20 yuan per person, and you can also drive in by car.

It is amazing to have two lakes like this in the vast Gobi Desert. The two lakes, Koruk Lake and Tuosu Lake, are one fresh and one salty, with different scenery and not many tourists. When we went there, there were reeds and gulls on Koruk Lake and wild ducks on Tuosu Lake. There are several earthen hills where you can climb and see far. We also saw flamingos, which are worth several times the ticket price. Tuosu Lake is very beautiful and there are few people, but there are many mosquitoes and flying insects. One section of the washboard road is about 9 kilometers, which makes you doubt your life. The speed does not exceed 20km/h, but it is still worth it for the scenic spot itself.

In fact, it is just a marker artificially piled up on the roadside, in the middle of the highway. You can take a look at it when you pass by, but it is not worth looking for it specifically.

By Jingahaha |

It has a bit of desolate beauty. I didn't go to see the ruins, I just looked at the exterior. The sea next to it is nice, and there is also a beach, it really feels like the seaside.

By Just go |

This attraction is free, but it is better than any other attraction that costs money!

By Xu Xiaomao |

Since it is a free scenic spot, public services are not discussed for now. But the scenery is worth it, and there are few people, which is great.

By Big Rivers and Big Seas |

The alien ruins are not as mysterious as Area 51 in the United States. Those who have not been there want to explore it, while those who have been there complain about wasting their time.

This attraction is actually quite attractive, but unfortunately it was not well built. The scenic area only has a bunch of messy rocks and a small Caodong cave. If I hadn't read the guide online, I really wouldn't have known that the pipes in the cave were alien relics.

The most ridiculous thing is that they even built a stone statue of ET. Why not just copy the colossus from Easter Island? This would make it more immersive.

However, on the way to the alien ruins, you can see the scenery of Lake Tosu, which is so beautiful that it is breathtaking. You must see it. This completely makes up for the feelings that deceived us.

By Sichuan Hot Pot |

The reason why I recommend the alien ruins is because the sunset of Tuosu Lake is so beautiful. It happens that this attraction is on the way from Dunhuang to Qinghai Lake. After watching the sunset, you can also go to Delingha City to stay. There are many hotels and delicious food!

By Li Da Miao |

Before visiting the cave of the alien ruins, you must read the origin of the inscription on the back, otherwise you will be confused. It cannot be considered a scenic spot. There is no ticket. There are local specialties on the roadside. There is no toilet, but the scenery is beautiful.

By Mimi Rabbit |

The alien ruins is located in the middle of the road. It is said to be built by the government. There is no charge and you can drive in directly. There is only a big stone standing here. There are several merchants doing business next to it, but the overall feeling here is so-so and there is a lot of garbage. The next day, this attraction was demolished.

By Qinling 007 |

I went there twice, and the roads were too bad. There were a few sections of washboard roads that were very difficult to drive, so I ended up taking a detour on the sand. There are no public toilets near the scenic spot.

By Joe |

The reason why this place is called the "alien ruins" is that more than 8% of the elements in the iron pipes scattered by the lake cannot be verified, and there is no record of this mysterious element in the periodic table. The implication is that this element has not been seen in places developed by humans on Earth. It may come from aliens, from the deep sea, or from the center of the earth...

By Waiting for the wind |

The legend of Lover's Lake is very touching. The two lakes, one salty and one fresh, take care of each other. However, I personally prefer Koruk Lake. After all, where there is life, there is hope. On the contrary, Tosu Lake makes people feel a little desolate.

By I love San Ge |

There are too many mysteries and puzzles, but there will always be scientific explanations, but~ I am not too interested

By Rock 129 |

It is the best location for watching the sunset at Phetchabun Lake. Naturally formed iron pipes are scattered all over the shore, and it is said that 3% of the material is unknown.

By Tianxia Painting |

The alien ruins are in a cave, with iron pipes running through them, and the iron pipes are wrapped by the mountain, which is really strange. The surprise is that on the way in, we passed Tuosu Lake and Koruk Lake, with water birds, fish, reeds, Gobi, and lake water, which is beautiful.

By Luoyang Dream |

When I passed by on August 20, the alien site was already being demolished. I can’t upload the video, so I can only post a few screenshots of the demolition!

By China-TravelNote users |

A very boring free attraction, there is a rock on the side of the road with "Delingha Alien Ruins" written on it. It was demolished as an illegal building on August 20, 2017, so you don't have to go there.

By Sister An |

Although there is a 20-yuan combined ticket for Crook Lake, we went directly to the alien ruins and didn't see the ticket booth. We also visited two attractions. There is nothing to see in the alien ruins itself. There are some strange pipes in a cave in a loess mountain. I suspected it was a fake ruins. But the Tosu Lake we saw by the way was so beautiful! It was completely beyond my expectations!

By tread |

The alien ruins are by the Tosu Lake. I don't know if I can go there alone. Because of the heavy rain and strong wind that day, I didn't get off the car. My friends got off the car in the rain, but when they came back, they told me that there was nothing but two rusty iron pipes. But as far as I know, there should be more than just that hole, but an area. Since it is in the scenic area, it is very convenient to go around if you have a car, so let's go.

By YOYO |

The beauty is beyond expectation! One side is the Gobi Desert and the other side is the salt lake, super shocking! The ticket is 20 yuan per person, the scenery after entering is beautiful, especially suitable for taking pictures. This is the most impressive place in the entire Northwest. 20 yuan is worth it! As for the alien ruins, it is just a cave, nothing to see, but the surrounding scenery is worth the trip!

By Jenny Chen |

My companion said that the real alien ruins are not here.

We need to go into a mountain deep inside. Now we have made a template based on the shape of that mountain to show you~

By rongshu |

Chaka Salt Lake is crowded and the sun is strong, so there is really nothing to see. I saw this scenic spot on the way to Dachaidan, and I must buy a ticket to enter for a surprise! 20 per person. The scenery and landforms along the way are very shocking! There are huge rocks in the scenic area, and the lake is clear and blue, which is beautiful! The name of this scenic spot is inconspicuous, but the feeling of taking pictures is superb!

By 🦁Gray's walking map |

A place where you can take pictures and leave.

By Lai Yang |

The "Alien Ruins" can be said to be the most deceptive so far. Please see the picture to feel it for yourself! (Shot while driving)

By wangbujiantian |

As soon as you hear the name, you know it's a scam. Although it's free, it's still a scam and a waste of time!

By JiliguluRSL |

The alien ruins are located on the south bank of Tuosu Lake, where the first strange circle phenomenon in China appeared. I think if there are really alien ruins worth seeing in places like this, there will definitely be a constant stream of tourists like Chaka Salt Lake. But since only a few people know about it, there shouldn't be anything really to see. It turns out that my idea is right. When I was getting a haircut in Dachaidan, I met a couple from Henan who had been there for several years. They didn't particularly recommend going to this place.

By Wind and Clouds 508 |

The Delingha Alien Site is a strange place. We drove along the southern shore of the salty Tosu Lake. On one side was the lake, and on the other side was the foot of the mountain that was cut inward like a knife. How could this happen? This already made us feel strange and mysterious. . . .

These piles of earth in the Yadan landform are made of weathered rocks, and the texture is extremely soft. When you step on them, the flour-like dust can spread into your shoes. I was really worried that the huge piles above my head would collapse if I touched them.

Here you can find all the beautiful western scenery you want. It is spacious and sparsely populated, without any noise or disturbance. Friends who like off-road driving can step on the accelerator to the bottom, just like in American westerns, use speed and passion to dispel loneliness and desolation, and enjoy the scenery that stretches for thousands of miles.

By West Sea |

The scenery of the saltwater lake is okay, but the alien ruins are just a pit. The hole shown in the picture is simply a sinkhole...

By Jiayi |

The master said that Cave 1 and Cave 2 are interconnected, but when we went there, Cave 2 was already sealed. It may be because there is a risk of collapse. It is great to watch the sunset here

By Idle Clouds and Wild Cranes 2010 |

A very strange scenic spot. Because in the cave on the mountain, there is a half-wall of a tube with a diameter of about 40 cm, which runs diagonally from the top to the bottom. Another tube with the same diameter runs from the bottom wall to the ground, with only the tube mouth exposed. Above the cave mouth, there are more than 10 pipes of different diameters that penetrate into the mountain. The tube walls are completely consistent with the rocks, as if the pipes were directly inserted into the rocks. These tubes, regardless of thickness, length or shortness, are all rust-like brown-red. Around the lake and the cave, there are a lot of rust-like slag, various pipes of different thicknesses and strange-shaped stones scattered around. Therefore, it is called an alien site. It seems that a TV science program has revealed its natural phenomena and denied the imagination of aliens. But the desolate landforms around are still worth seeing.

It's basically a no-man's land, a huge no-man's land.

By zhm_jinan |

Too many photos were taken on the roadside, mainly because everyone was bored running in the Gobi Desert. However, we did not stop the car, as we were still far from the ruins.

By Great governance |

The alien ruins, but no aliens could be seen. It was the kind of place that you would fantasize about before going there, but would be very disappointed after going there, haha. We had to take a detour to go there, but we gave up. It was said to be a large naturally formed hole. A few of us women pretended to be aliens, took a few photos next to a large rock on the side of the road and left.

By Don't drink Coke |

I don't recommend going there, it's just a pile of rocks, nothing to see, next to the highway.

By China-TravelNote users |

From a distance, there is Tuosu Lake (a slightly salty lake) to the south of Baigong Mountain and Koruk Lake (a freshwater lake) to the north. Baigong Mountain is sandwiched between the two lakes. The surrounding areas have abundant water resources and well-developed vegetation, but this area is barren and extremely desolate.

By Little Mumu. |

There are two main alien sites, one is a desert circle, and the other is a tube of unknown composition inserted into the stone... Every time I saw a desert circle, I only saw the tube... But it was very strange, there were so many mosquitoes here, and they were so big! They were not afraid of people, and flew straight to my body, which was so scary, I felt like I was going to be eaten by mosquitoes. The scenery along the way was good, with the desolation and loneliness of the Northwest.

By *belly* |

There is nothing much to see in the alien ruins alone, but it is a combined ticket with the Tuosu Lake Scenic Area, and it is in the same place as the Tuosu Lake Pier. The 20-yuan combined ticket is worth recommending. Tuosu Lake is beautiful and the scenery along the way exceeded expectations.

By Side bangs, white shirt |

I got off the car and took pictures at the alien ruins. In fact, it was just a tubular object flying down. I don’t know if it was real or fake.

By Hututu Little Fairy ❤ |

The alien ruins are not the ones on the roadside, and you need to buy a ticket to enter the scenic area. The ticket and the Koruk Lake are combined tickets, 20 per person, which is actually very cost-effective. After all, they have built dozens of kilometers of roads for you, and the scenery along the way is really beautiful, but if you want to see the mysterious alien ruins, you may be disappointed. When you go out to play, don't always think that this pit is not good, and you can see the beautiful places when you relax. But! We went there at the end of September, and there were so many mosquitoes. Don't get off the car as long as there are plants. Once you go down, you will be besieged by hundreds of mosquitoes. . The road workers along the way all wear insect repellent masks, and take good protective measures! ! !

By Wendy moves with the wind |

This is absolutely a bullshit place, go there if you don't believe me.

By China-TravelNote users |

The unexpected surprise is so beautiful and worth a visit. It's not like what the online guide says that you must go to the innermost part.

By bean soup |

I can only say that the place chosen by aliens is too beautiful. The natural scenery on the road is so beautiful. I also heard the touching stories of the two lakes, which I think is so magical. The scenic area is still under development. It takes a long time to enter the scenic area. The road condition is poor, but the road back has been repaired. People who go there must not take the bad road back (because we met many people returning from the original road on the way there). There is a fork in the road but there is no road sign, which has pitted many people. In fact, it is just a circle around the lake. The exit is also connected to the highway, a little before the entrance. (I have been confused by myself)

By ⌒.Bing Muhan |

The alien ruins are just a big stone with some inscriptions on it. It can be said that it has no special features, but it is nice to have such a highly recognizable place in the vast desert.

By joan |

The lake next to it is very beautiful, but the road has not been repaired yet, so it is difficult for small cars to drive. There is a rural road that is an oil road with good road conditions and free admission, but there are many forks, and it is easy to get lost without locals. There are wild black wolfberries on the roadside.

2016.8.1 I went to see the alien ruins with great hope. I drove here and read the introduction. I found that the alien stuff had been taken away by the state for research. Only a memorial stone sculpture was left here.

It was like a change from heaven to hell. It was freezing cold just now, but it was hot and great when I arrived at the alien. The scenery was like heaven, and it felt great to be in the middle of nowhere.

By Xu Xiake |

The so-called alien ruins are just man-made imaginations, just a few special-shaped stones by the lake. But I was very interested in the lake next to it. The driver said it was called Lover's Lake. The lake water is very blue, forming a sharp contrast with the vast yellow Gobi Desert, which is quite shocking.

Koruk Lake-Tosu Lake, just arrived at the entrance of the scenic area, as soon as the car door opened, there were mosquitoes everywhere. Can you believe it? They were so dense. I heard that the mosquitoes here are poisonous, but I didn't expect them to be so poisonous. We got in the car quickly and decided not to go to these two lakes. Then the driver took us to stop at the alien ruins, which is a stone pestle. After staying there for a few minutes, we felt mosquitoes biting us, so we ran away quickly.

Mysterious alien ruins

This is a region formed in the Tertiary Period, full of gray-brown and desolate land, with no grass growing. The landform here is surprisingly similar to the moon, with geometric stones everywhere. Under the sandstone structure of the mountain, there are many unidentified objects hidden in irregular triangular caves. A tube with a diameter of about 40 cm goes straight from the top of the mountain to more than 100 meters underground, and other tubes are neatly arranged horizontally in the mountain, which is amazing. What is even more amazing is that the composition of the tubes is still unexplainable by human science. The above is from Wikipedia.

By Xiaoli |

It's nothing, for me, I just came to take a photo and then leave.

By Cathy-Hong |

It is just a place for tourists to visit and take photos. To actually visit the alien ruins, you have to drive an off-road vehicle on the Gobi Desert for more than an hour.

By Pony Run |

There is no need to go to this attraction. Not only is the road difficult to walk on, but there is nothing to see after you go there.
