It is said that Mr. Wang Luobin met the beautiful girl Zhuoma on the Jinyintan grassland and created this widely circulated song. This place was once a little-known mysterious restricted area. It gave birth to the first atomic bomb and hydrogen bomb of New China and was China's first nuclear weapons research and development base.
The Jinyintan Grassland is adjacent to Qinghai Lake in the west and surrounded by Qilian Mountains in the northeast. It has an average altitude of 3,200m and is divided into the Golden Beach and the Silver Beach. A small river flows through it. On the northern bank of the grassland, a kind of golden and fragrant small flower called golden plum blooms, so it is called the Golden Beach; on the southern bank of the grassland, the silvery white silver plum is the world, so it is called the Silver Beach. Every summer, wild flowers bloom, and the golden white flowers bloom into a piece, just like a golden and silver grassland, so the Jinyintan Grassland got its name.

It was June when I went there. I arrived too early and found this grassland by accident while taking a walk in the afternoon. I don't know if it was because of the time, but there were very few people here. The temperature dropped very quickly in the evening and it was soon too cold to bear. The grassland scenery was pretty good. There was a small river. If you have extra time, you can go and see it. It is very close to Xihai Town.
The guide map of the Jinyintan Scenic Area actually shows that there is no Jinyintan on it, only Jinhu and Yinhu. We went to Yinhu and Jinhu successively, but they were not the two. When we asked the locals, they couldn't explain clearly, and some even said, "We have Jinyintan everywhere here." It was really funny! We wasted a lot of time in vain. It turns out that Jinyintan is on both sides of the road from Haibei to Qinghai Lake. In fact, it is the grass on both sides of the road. The grass on the left and right sides are of different species, showing that one side is golden and the other side is silver. The color of the grass on this side is darker, and the color on the other side is lighter, and there is really nothing to see!
