Canglong Ridge is one of the famous dangerous roads in Huashan. It is located south of Jiukutai and at the foot of Wuyun Peak. It is named after its dark appearance and its terrain that resembles a hanging dragon.
The mountain is named because it is dark in color and looks like a swimming dragon. The mountain is adjacent to the deep ravine of Qingkeping in the west and the canyon of Feiyuling in the east. It is about 100 meters long and less than three feet wide. It is steep in the middle and narrows on the sides. Tourists walking on it will feel as if they are in the clouds, which is very thrilling. Therefore, the story of Han Yu of the Tang Dynasty crying and writing for help here was born, leaving behind the famous site of "Han Tuizhi's Letter-writing Place" at the top of Canglong Mountain.

As I walked, I felt a different aura around me. I looked up and found that it was the famous Canglong Ridge. Canglong Ridge is so steep that I didn't have the courage to climb it. I also admired those who climbed Huashan at night.
The place with railings is the stairs, which is a bit regrettable. If I had time to walk up a little further, I would probably see a different scenery.
Canglong Ridge is one of the famous dangerous roads in Huashan. It is located at the south of Jiukutai and Wuyun Peak. It is named for its dark exterior and its terrain that looks like a hanging dragon. The terrain is like walking on a thin blade and the cliffs are thousands of feet high, which makes many tourists tremble with fear. The most famous story is the story of Han Yu crying and writing a letter for help, which has triggered a lot of related allusions and textual research. Therefore, the cultural heritage of "Han Tuizhi's Letter Writing Place" has been left here. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the stairs began to be built on the ridge, and it was completed in the Republic of China. A total of more than 530 steps were built. In modern times, in order to prevent congestion and protect the safety of tourists, a mountain climbing trail has been dug on Feiyu Ridge to the east of Canglong Ridge.
All the way up, I could only look forward, and occasionally look back. My legs would still tremble unconsciously, so I quickly turned around and continued climbing. In addition, during the climbing process, I could clearly hear the whistling sound of the wind and feel the gusts of cold wind. In the second half of the climb, I almost had to rely on the iron chain to have the courage to continue to lift my feet. This section of the road where I couldn't turn back, I could only climb up with my head held high. When I climbed to the top and looked back at this section of the road, there were only two words: "worth it"
In the past, Canglong Ridge was the only road connecting the North Peak and the South Peak, and it was also one of the famous dangerous roads in Huashan.
Now this road is mainly uphill. People who climb from the North Peak can give it a try.
It’s quite steep and a must-visit place in Huashan!
The road leading to the Middle Peak from the North Peak cable car is very dangerous!
It's a very narrow road. In fact, it looks more impressive from a distance.
Majestic and magnificent, it is the model of Huashan and the backbone of the mountains and rivers.
You must "keep your feet on the ground" when climbing Canglongling, and take one step at a time! The steps of Canglongling are only more than 2 feet wide, and there are deep ravines on both sides, which are as steep as a knife. The height difference between the ridge and the top is about 500 meters, and the slope is more than 45 degrees. Looking at the green pines and white clouds from afar and hearing the sound of the wind, it is dizzying. Do you know how this photo was taken? If you really can't walk, find a relatively slow step, hold the chain with both hands, slowly turn your body, and sit on the step. Then hold the camera with one hand, and take this photo tremblingly as a souvenir!
It is easy to go up the mountain but difficult to go down, so you can only take the cable car, but the scenery on the cable car is not inferior at all
Unforgettable, I almost fell off the mountain. Dangerous, dangerous

It's still quite steep. Actually, I didn't feel much after walking up, but the steps are quite narrow, so don't go beyond the railing, because it's easy to slip outside the railing.

Canglong Ridge is one of the famous dangerous roads in Huashan. It is located south of Jiukutai and under Wuyun Peak. It is named for its dark exterior and its dragon-like terrain. There are cliffs on both sides, which is very thrilling.
Canglong Ridge, the dragon vein of Huashan, is also the most dangerous place in Huashan!
Huashan has only one path since ancient times. Even a young and strong man 16 years ago was out of breath after climbing it! It is steep and exciting!
If you are traveling with children, you should buy an anti-lost rope and tie it to your body. My legs would shake from time to time while climbing, and I was always worried that the children would slip and fall, and then be gone. Mount Huashan has been famous for its dangers since ancient times, and I truly experienced it this time.

Standing on the North Peak and looking south, you can see a stone ridge protruding from the valley, shaded by trees, like a huge spine connecting the two peaks in the north and south. The gray rock is exposed, with black vertical lines on the side, which looks like the traces of being chopped by an axe. The name Canglong Ridge comes from this.
The Canglong Ridge is said by the locals to be the dragon vein of Huashan, majestic, steady and winding. This section of the road is quite steep, but fortunately I am brave and I climbed while playing, taking in the beautiful scenery in my mind. It takes about an hour and a half from the North Peak to the East Peak, and I climbed relatively fast because I had to find a place to stay. There are all kinds of love locks on the railings along the way. Looking at the love locks tied with red ribbons along the way, I feel that no matter what you pray for, you have gone through so much effort to climb to the top of Huashan Peak, and you are so sincere. If you pray for it, it should be realized.

You don’t need to stop to take pictures when climbing the steps of Canglong Ridge. There is a viewing platform after climbing up, which is more suitable for taking pictures.
When we climbed Canglong Ridge, the steps were a bit shaky, so we all started climbing the mountain holding on to the iron chain. We had to climb for a while and then rest for a while. The snow on the mountain had not melted yet.
There has been only one road to Mount Huashan since ancient times. The danger of Mount Huashan is well-deserved. I hiked up and down the mountain and stayed on the mountain for one night. I saw all five peaks in the east, west, south, north and center. It was shocking and exciting.
Canglong Ridge is the only passage connecting the North Peak and the three main peaks in the east, south and west. The ridge is like a blade, with empty space on both sides. It is named because the ridge is dark black and looks like a swimming dragon. In fact, it is a dangerous passage left by the development of granite joints and continuous collapse under the action of gravity.
It is shaped like a dragon, with cliffs on both sides. It is very dangerous. Now there is another road next to it for tourists.
One of the famous natural dangers of Huashan, Canglong Ridge is located at the south of Jiukutai and Wuyun Peak. It is named for its dark exterior and its dragon-like terrain. From a distance, a long staircase on the ridge extends up the mountain. Tourists climb up and down like ants. There are abysses on both sides. Walking on it, the wind blows on both sides. However, we climbed up quickly. The steepness is not as great as imagined.
It was visually stunning, bare, like standing on the back of a dinosaur, with only iron chains on both sides, and it felt like I would slide down if I slipped out, haha. I was young at the time, and I didn't take the cable car. It took more than 5 hours to get to the South Peak. I was too tired to take pictures when I reached Canglong Ridge, so I'll just post a picture.
2017.7.28 The father and son climbed Huashan to the North Peak and continued to move forward to Jinsuo Pass. They passed by Canglong Ridge. It was a pity that they could not enjoy the scenery on both sides because of the heavy fog.
Canglong Ridge is a knife-shaped ridge. The steps on the ridge are carved out of the stone ridge. From a distance, it looks like walking on a cliff. It is one of the famous dangerous roads in Huashan. The ridge is named because it is dark black and looks like a swimming dragon. The ridge is adjacent to the deep ravine of Qingkeping in the west and the canyon of Feiyu Ridge in the east. It is about 100 meters long and less than three feet wide, with more than 530 steps. In order to prevent congestion, Canglong Ridge is now a one-way road that can only go up but not down, while a mountain climbing road has been carved on the Feiyu Ridge on the east side, which can only go down but not up.
It looks quite steep in the picture, with double stone and iron railings on both sides, but I didn't feel how dangerous it was when I climbed up. It may also be that I am naturally brave and timid, so I don't feel any danger. Of course, the guardrails were added in recent years. When the ancients climbed Mount Hua, there were no fences on both sides. So it is said that Han Yu of the Tang Dynasty was afraid to go down the mountain when he visited Canglong Ridge, and he suffered on the mountain. Later, the magistrate of Huayin County sent people to the mountain to pick him up.
After passing the Ear-Chai Cliff, you can see the long road ahead more clearly, and the majestic Canglong Ridge! Huashan’s favorite Canglong Ridge!
It felt like I had been climbing for a century. When I reached the highest point of Canglong Ridge and looked back at the top of North Peak, I felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. It was hard to imagine that North Peak was so small.
As the terrain gets higher and higher, the feeling of being surrounded by mountains is really beautiful ~ the scenery is intoxicating ~
Huashan-Canglong Ridge:
Maybe it’s because it’s summer~
So many people!!!
The dangerous mountain road in Canglongling is crowded with people.
but...
There were some disorderly people who actually went against the flow of the large group. It was really outrageous~
Could it be that he quit halfway through the class? ?
It feels like there are dangerous paths everywhere on Huashan.
Therefore, everywhere is scenery~
From 6 am to 6 pm, I climbed three peaks.
Keep working hard in the future!!!
You will pass by Beifengding when hiking from Xifeng Peak. It is indeed a dangerous peak of Mount Huashan.

Huashan is a famous dangerous road. Especially if you climbed up the ancient Huashan Road, you will be desperate when you walk to Canglong Ridge. Haha
Since it is at night, there is basically no scenery to enjoy, so you can just concentrate on climbing the mountain.
Huashan Dragon Vein was already covered by thick fog when we arrived, which was unique
Huashan Dragon Vein - Canglong Ridge. Don't look back, just keep climbing and you will always see different scenery.
Looking back from Canglong Ridge, you can see the North Peak, but it takes some perseverance to climb up.
We went up the mountain from Yuquan Academy, taking the ancient Huashan Road. I think the most spectacular scenery along the way is Canglong Ridge.
The scenery is very beautiful, highly recommended, both sides are steep
It was very exciting and refreshing. The mountains on both sides were clearly visible. The mountain breeze blew, and I was nervous and wanted to look around, but safety was the priority. I stood firmly before looking at the scenery.
From [Ear-Cleaning Cliff], through [Heavenly Ladder], [Woniu Stone], [Sun and Moon Cliff], [Sanyuan Cave], [Imperial Road], you will reach the foot of [Canglong Ridge]. The danger of Canglong Ridge starting from Dushen Temple is well-known, and Han Yu's frightened letter gave this danger a literary story. Indeed, if there were no handrails on both sides, I wonder how many tourists who have climbed to this point with sore legs would dare to continue walking up on the narrow ridge with no support on both sides. A flat ground at the middle of the ridge is full of cliff inscriptions, which is very impressive and is an excellent place to rest and enjoy during the climb.

There are more than 530 steps in total, and some of the steps are quite steep. Looking from a distance, it is still very picturesque. But it is worth going no matter how hard or tiring it is!
There are similar cliffs on both floors, which is very scary, and the road is not wide.
Wow! This is a very endurance-challenging Huashan section! But the view is also amazing! :D
Canglong Ridge is a blade-shaped ridge under Wuyun Peak, one of the famous dangerous roads in Huashan. The ridge is adjacent to the Qingkeping ravine in the west and the Feiyuling Canyon in the east. It is about 100 meters long and looks like a swimming dragon. There is a bottomless abyss under the ridge. The road is only three feet wide. There are iron chains on both sides. Tourists walk slowly holding the iron chains, which is very thrilling.
Great view, the slope is a bit shaky, but the scenery is unique

I don’t know which of these two is Canglong Nei Ling, all I can see are mountains!!!
The scenery is beautiful. Even though I am afraid of heights, I still climb up.
I didn't feel much when I was walking on it, it was far less shocking than Qianchizhuang and Baichixia, but when I looked out over Canglong Ridge, I felt quite shocked...
The mountain road from North Peak to East Peak was not very exciting at night, but I felt a little nervous walking back during the day.
I have to say this, it's very tiring, and it's still a bit dangerous looking down from above, but I feel very refreshed after climbing up

It will be spectacular, very awesome! In fact, it is not as difficult as imagined to climb up, just grit your teeth and you will get through it.
I climbed up in one go and looked back. It was very steep.
From the North Peak, we passed the Ear-Cleaning Cliff, the Ladder to Heaven, and the Sun and Moon Cliff to reach Canglong Ridge. With the Dulong Temple as the dragon head and the winding mountains as the dragon body, it is like a giant dragon that wants to take off, hence the name Canglong Ridge. The stone steps of the ridge are narrow, and there are abysses on both sides, which are as steep as a knife or an axe. The group had to hold the iron chains on both sides and stagger forward. Suddenly, a gust of cool wind blew, which made people feel scared. Unfortunately, Canglong Ridge is a one-way road, so we could not return the next day to experience the hardships and dangers of the ancients chiseling stones.
It's a bit regrettable. I was shocked when I missed Canglong Ridge during my first night climb. I wanted to experience it well this time, but I didn't expect to miss it again.
The only way to the East Southwest Peak is carved on the mountain ridge. It is named after its winding shape like a dragon's back. There are steep cliffs on both sides, which is very dangerous.
You must take this route, one of the most classic routes in Huashan. You can overlook Huayin City and see the North Peak of Huashan~
If there were no guardrails on the steepest part of Huashan Mountain, many people would not be able to climb it.
It is a real pleasure to walk along Canglong Ridge, with cliffs on both sides. You can enjoy the scenery while walking.
Stand at the starting point, take a deep breath and go up. It's really dangerous, and the scenery is really pleasant.
There are so many stairs that it's hard to climb them, but it's very spectacular.

The first step of the famous Canglong Ridge, leave a souvenir, buddy, HOLD ON, start
Very cool, the mountain is very high, the landscape is really beautiful
Behind the Dulong Temple is the last dangerous place of this night climb, Canglong Ridge. It is said that Han Yu of the Tang Dynasty was frightened and cried immediately when he came here, thinking that he was dead, so he wrote a suicide note and threw it down the mountain for help. Regardless of whether the legend is true or false, Han Yu, the first of the "Eight Great Masters of Tang and Song Dynasties", has been ridiculed by later generations. However, it is always easy for people to judge the experience and feelings of their predecessors with today's eyes. Little do people know that before the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Canglong Ridge had neither steps nor railings. "Shui Jing Zhu" records that when pedestrians come to this place, they have to pray to the gods in the temple at the mouth of the ridge, asking the gods to grant clouds so that the clouds on both sides are level with the ridge, so that people can't see the abyss on both sides of the ridge. Despite this, the ancients did not dare to walk standing, but rode on the ridge and moved forward inch by inch. Therefore, Canglong Ridge is also called Ganling. It was not until the end of the Tang Dynasty that stone railings and low walls were built on both sides of the ridge, and there were a small number of stone climbs and stone nests. After reading this, I began to experience another meaning of Canglong Ridge, because the ancients had to ride up! In addition, in that era when there was no safety protection, it must have been a great challenge to slide down such a steep ridge, especially in heavy rain, wind and snow.
Looking down from the platform in the middle of Canglong Ridge, although the landscape in front of you has not changed much over the past thousands of years, there are still traces of human transformation of nature. The guide lights that are always on all night are the product of the last two hundred years. The stone steps under your feet and the increasing number of complex paths have only become more and more perfect since the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. The only things that have not changed are probably the remaining granite and the imposing mountain terrain that has never changed.
Looking back on the road I have come, I can't help but sigh. When I first looked up at this road from the foot of the mountain, I felt it was far away in the horizon, but now it seems just like that when I look down from a high place. Humans are really curious and prone to a sense of scarcity. Curiosity forces us to want to know what is behind a mountain when we see it. A sense of scarcity makes us jump out of our comfort zone and challenge the next seemingly impossible danger.
It is indeed the dragon vein of Huashan Mountain~~ Very beautiful
Climbing Canglong Ridge is a different experience.
The mountain road is very steep, the scenery is particularly spectacular, and it is a test of courage.
Our overall route was from the West Peak to the North Peak, so we went down the mountain and passed by Canglong Ridge, taking the newly developed downhill road to bypass Canglong Ridge. Now Canglong Ridge is only accessible to people who go up the mountain from the North Peak, and it is a one-way route. This is also for safety considerations. Fortunately, we did not take this road, which is really the heavenly road on Huashan Mountain and is very difficult.
At seven o'clock, before we reached Canglong Ridge, we looked up and saw a line of people climbing the slope arduously. Later we realized that this was the hiking trail of Canglong Ridge.
Many people walk this road at night and climb to the top of the mountain to watch the sunrise. After seeing this road, I feel like a real warrior...
