It is the most magnificent building complex among the world-famous “Three Palaces” of Chang’an City in the Tang Dynasty (Taiji Palace, Daming Palace, and Xingqing Palace).
Built in the eighth year of Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty, the original palace wall has a circumference of 7.6 kilometers, with 11 gates on the four sides. There are more than 40 palaces, terraces, pavilions and other sites that have been discovered.
Here you can admire the restored miniature landscape of Daming Palace, watch the IMAX 3D film "Legend of Daming Palace", and experience the archaeological excavation and restoration of cultural relics.

Daming Palace is the largest palace complex in the Tang Dynasty. The current site museum is located in the northeast of the city and covers a large area. There are some remains of the platforms and piers of the past palaces in the site, but there are no restored buildings, which makes people feel not very satisfied. There are many ways to charge fees in the park, which makes foreign tourists a little confused. Most of the precious cultural relics are in the charging area.
There are few palace ruins in Daming Palace. It is relatively large and desolate, which makes me imagine the prosperity of the past. If you are not interested in history, you can choose to visit. Daming Palace is divided into outer and inner areas. There is no entrance fee for the outer circle. You can take the small train in front of Danfeng Gate for 30/person, or rent a bicycle for a ride. You need to go to the tourist center to buy tickets for the inner area. Student tickets are 30/person
After entering the (internal park) ticket gate, there is a white sightseeing bus, which costs 30/person in the off-season. It will take you for a tour and stop at every scenic spot. You can wave your hand to stop the bus along the way. My waist hurts from walking so much these days, and it's very big inside, so I decided to take an electric car. There are not many people in the off-season, and each person can book a car.
There is a fenced area inside, telling you that this is the site of some palace in the Daming Palace of the Tang Dynasty. Now it is just a piece of dead grass, which is really a pity.
The museum has free guides every half an hour. You can wait at the door. It is recommended to follow the guide to listen to the explanation, which is much more interesting.
There is a ceramic experience hall in the Daming Palace Ruins Park (near the exit), which offers rubbing experience and ceramic throwing experience. This is a major discovery I made while wandering around alone. There are few people in the off-season, and there are even few staff in the experience area. Rubbing and throwing are [free], and there are people to teach you how to do it, but you can't take anything away, you can only take pictures. It's really stingy that you can't take even a piece of paper away
When I finished watching the documentary about Daming Palace and when I heard the melody of the song "Daming Palace" sung by Liu Ke in the documentary, I was sure that the first stop of my trip to Xi'an would be Daming Palace.
The prosperous Tang Dynasty needed a magnificent palace to highlight the country's strength, which meant that the Daming Palace was destined to be the most powerful representative of the prosperous Tang Dynasty, without a doubt.
For many people, Daming Palace National Heritage Park can be a confusing place.
As many online reviews have said, there is almost "nothing" here, with only a restored "small model", and there is no trace of the former splendor of the Daming Palace.
For me, I had no hesitation at all. On the way to Xi'an, I was convinced that no matter it was just broken walls or broken tiles and wood, I must go and see it. Because the documentary about it brought me too much shock, too many stories, and I still can't let it go.
So, if you also want to visit the Daming Palace National Heritage Park, it is recommended that you first watch a documentary about it on the Internet.
In the Daming Palace National Heritage Park, in addition to broken walls and palace foundations, there are also Tang Dynasty cultural relics excavated from the ruins.
Although there are not many, it is still worth a visit, and free guided tours are arranged at fixed times.
This stunning giant screen will show the four seasons of Daming Palace in sequence, supplemented by an electronic tour guide.
Listening and watching at the same time gives people a very shocking feeling.
If one day you come here, remember to spend ten minutes to stop and listen quietly.
In an area within the ruins, a panoramic model of the Daming Palace during the heyday of the Tang Dynasty is displayed.
Although it is a condensed version of the model, the scene is still very shocking.
You need to buy a ticket to enter the main ruins area, and the ticket price is about 50 yuan.
The route I walked in the Daming Palace was to walk along the central axis first, then come down from the back of the Hanyuan Hall ruins and enter the museum, then go to the Xuanzheng Hall ruins and the Zichen Hall ruins at the back, and then to the Wangxiantai ruins in the east and the Taiye Lake ruins in the north.
Then we turned back to the west part, where there are some newly built sculptures that you can enjoy. There are also sightseeing buses in the park, which require additional payment. I didn't take them because I just wanted to walk around. Those with weak legs can take a sightseeing bus to visit, which is more convenient. The green environment of Daming Palace in winter is average, after all, it is the off-season. In fact, even if you come in the peak season, it is completely incomparable to the former prosperous scene with blooming flowers and lush green leaves. It is enough to understand the history. It takes about 3 hours to walk through the entire park.
I got off at Daming Palace West subway station and rode a shared bike all the way to the north entrance of Daming Palace. I didn't have a ticket, so I was very happy. As soon as I came in, I felt it was very empty. I quickly looked at the map and took a look at the nearest Xuanwu Gate, but found that it was still under renovation. What was going on? It didn't seem like anything special. After that, I walked around the entire park and it took me three hours to walk from the north to the south.
The main entrance of the Daming Palace Museum is on the south side of the Daming Palace. You need to buy a ticket to enter and see it. I felt that I didn't have time to see it, so I gave up buying a ticket to see it. However, there are two small museums in this museum, a porcelain museum and an art museum. The porcelain museum displays porcelain cultural relics from the Stone Age to the Qing Dynasty, and the art museum is mainly paintings and calligraphy. I mainly went to see these two and learned a little bit, and no tickets are required. It is forbidden to take pictures inside the Daming Palace Museum. The tower at the south gate of the Daming Palace is very impressive.
Tips: The best order to visit Daming Palace is from south to north, because Daming Palace is more like a park. If you want to visit a museum, get off at Anyuanmen subway station and start from South Gate. The ticket is 60. Otherwise, getting off at Daming Palace West in the north and visiting the entire park will take a whole day, and Daming Palace is very desolate and there is nothing to see.
It is indeed very large inside. I got off the car at Danfeng Gate and walked slowly forward, and I couldn't help but sigh all the way. Daming Palace, once the most magnificent palace complex in the world, witnessed the prosperity of the heyday of the Tang Dynasty for more than 200 years. It's a pity that not even the broken walls and ruins are left.
Compared to the bright sunshine in the daytime, I actually prefer the quiet blue of Danfeng Gate before night falls.
It was already dark before we even got inside. We walked aimlessly in the huge square, and when we got to the ticket office, we found that it was closed. So forget it, I told my friend. Let's just keep the beautiful fantasy of this land in our minds.
I came out and sat outside for a while. The empty square, the sparse trees, and the occasional cry of a lonely bird made me feel as if I were in the Gobi Desert.
Tickets: 60 yuan for a package, it is very big inside, and internal transportation is charged separately
Opening hours: 8:30-18:00, close 30 minutes earlier in winter
Suggestion: Read some relevant information or documentaries before coming here, otherwise you may feel that there is nothing to see in this place.
It is a relatively unpopular attraction and it will take at least a whole day to visit it all. Except for the summer when it is too sunny, it should be beautiful in other seasons. The few people are just right for you to slowly find the feeling of traveling back to the prosperous Tang Dynasty. You need to use your imagination to complete the task. If you lack imagination, you may find it boring.
If you don't like watching the cheesy love story between a Tang Dynasty princess and a foreign prince, and you have enough strength to walk 20,000 to 30,000 steps a day, just buy the ticket.
I suggest watching the CCTV documentary about Daming Palace before going to see it. This is the greatest and most beautiful palace in Chinese history. Although only broken bricks and tiles are left now, you can still vaguely feel the beauty of the Tang Dynasty. In autumn, the pink daisy is in bloom, which is suitable for taking pictures.
The archaeological restoration was well done and the scenery was quite beautiful. However, in such a big garden, there was nothing to eat, not even ice cream. I almost died of starvation and thirst!
Daming Palace National Heritage Park is located not far from Xi'an Station. For tourists who are new to Xi'an, Daming Palace can be considered as a first-day travel destination together with the Xi'an City Wall. Daming Palace may not be as popular as the Terracotta Warriors and Huaqing Palace, but it is not only the most magnificent palace complex in the Tang Dynasty but also the most magnificent palace complex in the world, and it is also a world cultural heritage.
The Daming Palace mentioned here is the Daming Palace National Heritage Park, located north of Xi'an Station and north of Ziqiang East Road. The entire park is very large, covering an area of about 3.2 square kilometers. The original palace wall has a circumference of 7.6 kilometers and a total of 11 gates on the four sides. The southern part of the Daming Palace is the former dynasty, which is composed of Hanyuan Hall, Xuanzheng Hall and Zichen Hall from south to north; the center of the inner court in the north is Taiye Lake.
It is a large heritage park. You can imagine how magnificent the Daming Palace was back then. A city gate was rebuilt with archaeological sites inside. The rest are a series of temple foundations. The mural museum is also very precious and wonderful.
Daming Palace, the main palace of the Tang Dynasty, was one of the "three inner palaces" in Chang'an and was called "Eastern Palace" ("Western Palace" was Taiji Palace, "Southern Palace" was Xingqing Palace). 17 of the 21 emperors of the Tang Dynasty (including Wu Zetian) lived and worked here for a long time. Daming Palace is located in the northeast of Chang'an City. It was originally the Yong'an Palace built by Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, for his father, Emperor Gaozu of Tang, Li Yuan, in 634 AD. The construction was stopped due to Li Yuan's death. In the second year of Longshuo of Emperor Gaozong of Tang (662 AD), Li Zhi suffered from rheumatism and could not stand the humidity of Taiji Palace, so he built Daming Palace on a large scale. The scale of Daming Palace is extremely large, covering an area of 3.2 square kilometers, which is 4.5 times the area of the Forbidden City in Beijing. The project was carried out with the efforts of the entire country of the Tang Dynasty. For this purpose, all officials stopped their salaries for three months, and some officials also made donations. The architectural layout of the Daming Palace, with the front court and the back bedroom, symmetrical central axis, and three main halls (including the Yuan Hall, Xuanzheng Hall, and Zichen Hall), laid the foundation for the palace layout in East Asia after the Tang Dynasty, and had a profound influence. It is the pinnacle of Chinese palace architecture and is known as the "Palace of a Thousand Palaces." Unfortunately, such a magnificent palace complex was severely damaged in the war at the end of the Tang Dynasty and was eventually demolished by Zhu Wen, leaving only ruins.
In 2010, Daming Palace National Heritage Park was completed.
In 2014, the Daming Palace Ruins were selected as a World Heritage Site.
The Daming Palace National Heritage Park is divided into a free area and a paid area. The adult ticket for the paid area is 65 yuan, which includes the Danfeng Gate Heritage Museum, the Daming Palace Ceramic Art Museum, the Daming Palace Heritage Museum, the Archaeological Exploration Center and the ruins of the major halls. The 3D movie "Legend of Daming Palace" is 30 yuan. The combined ticket is 95 yuan, including the scenic spot ticket, the movie ticket, and the ferry battery car ticket. There are discounts for online booking. The combined ticket I bought on Ctrip is 82. Online booking requires you to exchange tickets at the Tourist Service Center, which is located in the northeast of Danfeng Gate.
My tour route is:
Exchange tickets among tourists----》Watch "Legend of Daming Palace"----》Daming Palace Ceramic Art Museum----》Danfeng Gate Ruins Museum----》Take a battery car for a whole circle----》Hanyuan Hall----》Daming Palace Ruins Museum----》Miniature Landscape----》Xuanzheng Hall----》Zichen Hall----》Taiye Lake----》Walk back to the exit from the west side of the three main halls----》Archaeological Exploration Center.
The park is huge, so please bring enough water and food, pay attention to sun protection, and be careful of heatstroke in summer.
Time was limited, and I was struggling between Daming Palace and Furong Garden. In the end, I went to Daming Palace because the Internet said that this was a large park. When I arrived, it completely exceeded my expectations...
1See the palace ruins that resemble the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Pit
2 I saw the miniature landscape of Daming Palace, which was really shocking...
3. There aren't many things in the ruins museum, but the Daming Palace Four Seasons Picture at the entrance made me very happy... and some other things are very high
Feel the thousand-year-old breeze blowing across your cheeks, and bathe in the sunshine of the prosperous Tang Dynasty to warm your soul.
Don't use the electronic navigation system. The content on WeChat is the same as the rental navigation system. It's better to use human service.
Ok but more like a normal park than an archaeological site
The sports park for locals is very, very big, but there is not much to see. There is only a small area with models, and there is nothing to see, and there is also the famous pink sedge inside.
There is nothing to see. It should be a good place for Xi'an people to visit.
The ruins are really Mao's. The ruins are really Mao's. The ruins are really Mao's.
Off-season ticket price 48. Battery car 30. A model "square".
It's magnificent! Walking from Danfeng Gate to Youyintai Gate, I felt nostalgic. The layout of the ruins park is also ingenious. If you are studying architecture, you will definitely gain more.
The ticket to Daming Palace National Heritage Park is 90 yuan, and it takes half a day to visit. If you want to go, you must plan your time in advance. If you know about Daming Palace, but you are not interested in the ruins, don't go.
It was really huge inside, and my mind tried hard to imagine the prosperity and splendor of the world’s largest metropolis at the time, but I lamented that all of this had turned to ashes and was buried deep underground.
It turns out that Daming Palace Ruins Park is indeed just a ruins...
The tickets are expensive and the content is a rip-off...
Fortunately, it is big enough to satisfy my purpose of digesting food...
Watching one city singing and another laughing, the traces of history still exist. The vicissitudes of the years have recorded so many changes. The prosperity of the past has ended in silence today. It is necessary to try the heart-shaking experience in person! The Daming Palace Ruins Park starts from Ziqiang East Road in the south and ends at Xuanwu Road in the north. The north-south distance spans the city wall of Xi'an to the North Second Ring Road. If you have free time on weekends, you can take a walk around the big circle! The periphery of the park is a free green plant activity area, and the central ruins area is a scenic area for ticket-holders. According to the existing layout plan of the palace ruins, it takes about two hours to walk around. If you want to save energy, you can consider a sightseeing car. At two or three o'clock in the afternoon, the sun was shining brightly. Standing at the gate blocked by the palace wall, the momentum was brilliant. There were endless crowds of people playing in the square, and there were performance art people performing shows. Looking up at the long-lost blue sky, kites were flying freely. I hope my mood can be so relaxed every day!
I first came to know Daming Palace because of the documentary of the same name, which made me yearn for it. When I first came to Xi'an in 2010, it happened to be the opening of Daming Palace National Heritage Park. I went in and took a walk around. It was really sad that the magnificent and breathtaking palace was gone now!
Due to time constraints, I did not buy a ticket to enter. I rode a small yellow car in the free area. Looking from the outside, it feels like a man-made landscape, mostly park-like, and there is no trace of the Tang Dynasty.
It should be the most magnificent palace complex in the Tang Empire. Feel the prosperity of the times by looking at the only remaining palace foundation of Hanyuan Hall. Take a look at the past glory of Daming Palace in front of the miniature landscape.
Standing in front of the historical relics, I suddenly sighed that as a person who loves traveling, I really hope that Xi'an Tourism can protect the things left to us by our ancestors. These relics should be the soul of Chang'an City, and they must not be thrown away.
Actually, Daming Palace National Heritage Park is a big park. There is a fee inside. The outside part is free. You can see the pink muhly grass from a distance. There are not many tourists. I hope everyone will visit and take pictures in a civilized manner. Every autumn, when the pink muhly grass blooms, it is a hazy pink, which makes girls' hearts burst!
As for the free area, it's OK. I won't comment on the paid part as I didn't go there.
The main reason is that pink muhly grass has appeared recently, so I chose a free day to go there, mainly to take photos, as there is nothing worth visiting in other attractions.
I didn't get to see the musical fountain I had expected, which was a pity. I stayed at a hotel near the Big Wild Goose Pagoda at night. After dinner, it was still early, so I took a walk around the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Next to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is the Da Ci'en Temple Ruins Park. Walking around in the park is also a way to experience the leisure life in Xi'an. There is also a small musical fountain in the park, and you can still see the Big Wild Goose Pagoda under the lights in the evening.
The focus is on the "ruins", and the rest is all up to imagination. We went there during the National Day holiday, and the ticket was 60 yuan, which was totally not worth it. I saw that they were holding an event to share on WeChat Moments to get 10 yuan off, and asked them. The staff said that we had to buy the ticket first, and then go to the service center to share, and they would refund us 10 yuan. We bought it and went, but they said that we had to share first and then buy, and there was no refund. The final right of interpretation belongs to you, okay! It's not a matter of how much money you paid, but I felt cheated and uncomfortable! The main thing is that I felt that there was nothing to see...
We came at the right time. At 5:00 pm, the Daming Palace Ruins Park (Danfeng Gate) staged a "cloud-spraying" mechanical dragon horse show that went viral on Douyin, presenting a time-travel journey. Blinking its eyes, sticking out its tongue, and moving like a hip-hop dancer, this playful and cute guy is a large mechanical device from France called "Dragon Horse Spirit". If anyone "provokes" her, she will spray water on them. Of course, in this show, in addition to seeing the "dragon horse", we also saw a sea of people for the first time.
Just updated
I wanted to put more photos, but I found that I only took this one photo. Daming Palace Ruins Park is indeed a ruins park! It was once the site of Daming Palace, but it has been razed to the ground. It used to be where ordinary people lived. After the archaeological discovery, all the shantytowns of ordinary people were demolished and built into today's Daming Palace Ruins Park. Therefore, many of us saw a large grassland, and there was an explanation next to it about what kind of palace it was. There was nothing good to take pictures. Daming Palace Ruins Park is divided into the periphery and the scenic area. The periphery is very large and free. Everyone can visit and play. The small train takes you on a rough tour of the periphery. You need to buy a small train ticket. It is not recommended to take it. You can visit Hanyuan Hall and the museum from the scenic area. Let's complain about the queue for the sightseeing bus. The staff are too incapable of managing order. There are too many people and chaos. When the bus comes, they scramble for it. It is a particularly bad experience. The 3D movie is still worth watching. It is 30 minutes long and shows the splendor of the Daming Palace at that time in the form of a love story. In general, you might think you'll see some ruins or traces of former palace buildings in the Daming Palace Ruins Park, but in fact there are more man-made reconstructions and vast grasslands.
It's very big inside. My feet hurt when I walked there at night. There are not many sights and it's very empty. There are a few people dancing and singing.
Except for the gate, it has not been restored. After all, it was burned down in a fire, and it was all wooden structure. It was quite desolate... Now it looks like a small mound of earth.
If you buy a package ticket, you can also watch a movie~ and there are miniature landscape models.
There are activities suitable for children in the park, such as archaeology. The staff sells some things and asks you to dig. We went to the adult area and took a small shovel, but didn't dig anything... I heard that someone really dug it!
The train is a real rip-off. Don't take the train at Danfeng Gate. The train goes around the park, which means you can't see the core area of Daming Palace on the train! You can only go around the Daming Palace theme park! It was already past 5 o'clock when we arrived at Daming Palace. The ticket office did not recommend buying tickets, so we didn't go into the core area. But, I took the train for no reason and found out! ! Not worth it! ! Not worth it at all! ! ! !
In a few years, when Xi'an has completely renovated its railway station, the first thing you'll see after getting off the train is the Danfeng Gate in the Shuang Square. This was once the most glorious core of the Tang Dynasty, with the swordplay of the Xuanwu Gate and the singing and dancing of the Liyuan. The most notable figures of the Tang Dynasty have left their own glories here. The people are gone, leaving only the temple foundation and rammed earth. The rest needs to be filled with feelings. I hope that day, you start from here, and Chang'an will still have a long aftertaste.
For those who are interested in history, architecture and archaeological sites, Daming Palace National Heritage Park is worth a two-day tour. Generally, tourists can take a small train or electric car for 30 yuan per person and spend about 2 to 3 hours. Comrades who want to walk and have fun, it is also a good idea to prepare dry food for a one-day tour. Daming Palace carries the legends of emperors throughout the ages, created the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and portrayed the heroic Tang Dynasty. Now everything has become the afterglow of the sunset. I feel that this short trip has been very rewarding, just because I really like this feeling, a little sad and full of emotions. As the preface in the "Prologue Hall" of the site museum says: I hope that in the near future, this place will become a hall for every Chinese to experience their own national history...
In fact, I wanted to go to Daming Palace because of the TV series I watched since I was a child. The location is in the city and can be reached by bus. The overall color tone of Daming Palace is really solemn when I got off the bus. Due to the serious damage, the overall building structure was built later. There is a museum inside that you can go to see the original site for money. I think this money is not worth it. The original site inside is just a foundation structure. Everything depends on your imagination. The ruins park is very large, and many elderly people bring their children here to play, because there are some experience halls that simulate archaeology. As soon as I entered the gate, I found a large IMAX cinema. I strongly do not recommend spending money to watch the "movie" about Daming Palace... Anyone who watches it will regret it. If you don't believe me, go and watch it... The film is very short and the content is very bad. I almost fell asleep. The only thing that is worth the ticket price is that it introduces the names of several important palaces in Daming Palace in history and their corresponding functions... It is really a very large park. You can choose a scooter. It is not recommended to rent a bicycle for two people to save money... At the beginning, I really couldn't master the balance and always deviated from the track... The shuttle bus in the park had to give way to us... Because we were so trembling that it was dangerous for others to see... It was originally to save energy, but it was really scared and sweated all over. I had to pedal hard and hold the handlebars hard to master the balance. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect. Fortunately, it was a perfect ending. I basically visited all the ruins with the scooter... There is a miniature panoramic model of Daming Palace in the park. If you don't have time to visit it, you can learn a little about it through this, and you can also pose for a group photo.
China has never lacked world-renowned buildings. It can be said that it is a great country that creates miracles. However, many miracles on earth are often destroyed by natural disasters or wars. The Daming Palace was not spared and was burned down in the war, and has since disappeared in the long river of history. In the current Daming Palace National Heritage Park, the Hanyuan Hall has not been completely restored. There is a small miniature model next to it, and the real scene only restores the winding Longwei Road. Who would have thought that the Hanyuan Hall where Wu Zetian once received envoys from all countries would become what it is today? !
It doesn't take long to visit Daming Palace. The park is large but there are not many places to see. The sightseeing bus will stop at every scenic spot. I think only Danfeng Gate (not open at that time), the underground palace, the ruins of Hanyuan Hall and the movie "Legend of Daming Palace" are worth watching. You can choose the movie time when you pick up the ticket at the tourist service center, and it is about one hour per show.
Although the Daming Palace is just a ruin now, it is still worth a visit with its green grass and vast expanse of blue sky!
To be honest, I feel that the Daming Palace is not worth it. The main purpose of the ruins park is to protect cultural relics. If it is developed into a tourist attraction and tickets are charged, it should at least let tourists feel the corresponding historical and cultural atmosphere, right? However, next to the ruins museum is a Buddhist Zen Stone Museum, selling jade? There are not many exhibits in the museum.... The scenic area is very large, and you must take a tour bus for 40 yuan per person and walk all the way in the sun without shade. Recommended for people with rich imagination
I live next to the park and can see most of it from upstairs. The tickets seem to be expensive, but there's nothing much inside.
If you come here, you can only rely on your imagination to visit. Looking at the ground, there are only a few earthen walls that are the foundations of the original palace. The park is too large and your feet will hurt if you walk. The price of battery cars is relatively expensive.
The Daming Palace is very large, so it is recommended that you buy a sightseeing bus ticket when you buy your ticket. Then follow the sightseeing bus to tour the entire Daming Palace.
When you go to Daming Palace, you mainly visit the museums, ruins and miniature landscapes in the park. There is also an archaeological exploration center outside the park. The archaeological center is mainly for learning about archaeology. It is recommended that friends with children go and have a look.
A scenic spot with a heavy history! Although it was rebuilt in the later period, it has restored the historical and heavy Tang Dynasty culture, with a magnificent momentum and majestic atmosphere! You can go there to learn about that period of history.
How should I put it? For those who like Tang Dynasty history, this park is pretty good. Even in ruins, you can still feel the grandeur of the time. The restored foundation of Hanyuan Hall is really huge! Those who like history can go and experience it, and those who don’t like history can just go and see it!
I went there in the summer of 2017. I watched the documentary Daming Palace and was very interested in this place. It is very big, but there is nothing inside. It is a ruin! But this is the place that impressed me the most during my trip to Xi'an. The wind and rain of the past, the dust and smoke of the future! Recalling the heyday of the Tang Dynasty more than a thousand years ago...
This was the glorious place of the Tang Dynasty, the starting point of the Silk Road, and an old place visited by future generations.
It's the ruins park. After I went there, I felt quite depressed. I saw that the once glorious country had become so desolate.
It's very big, but I want to complain about the Nanyou Service Mobility Vehicle Rental Point on the left side of Danfeng Gate. They said it was 0.5 yuan per hour, but it turned out to be 103 yuan for less than two hours. They said it was a two-person leisure vehicle. Why didn't they tell me earlier?
Visit time: at least half a day
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tang Daming Palace National Heritage Park is highly recommended. I went there with 1935 for a day. Across the street from 1935 is the Daming Palace Heritage Park. It is really super beautiful. It is simply the most beautiful April in the world. In April, the Daming Palace is in full bloom, beautiful beyond words, and poetic and picturesque.
At that time, I felt that this place was no worse than Kyoto. It was spring and it was the world of kites. Although our kite was not the best, we must have had the happiest afternoon. We let the kite fly in the wind and ran freely on the green grass. It was one of those rare leisurely and comfortable afternoons.
As a local, Daming Palace is definitely one of the best places to go on weekends. As the city’s central park, it is especially suitable for taking the whole family out for a weekend outing, and the scenery is different in each season.
Came here after watching a documentary about Daming Palace. The price/performance ratio is not high. I don't recommend coming here in summer. It's really hot and sunny. The package I bought online costs 83 yuan per person, and I bought it on site for more than 90 yuan, and the single ticket costs 60 yuan. It includes a museum explanation, a 35-minute 3D movie ticket, one ticket, and a battery car ride within the designated area of the park. In fact, only the museum is worth visiting, and the others are... The Danfeng Gate of Daming Palace belongs to the free area of the scenic area. You can come to check in and take pictures. The outside is like a citizen park. The ruins are actually artificially made later... The angular palace ruins on the mound should also be artificially made... The paid area is actually a large park. You can walk when the weather is not hot, but don't go in summer. The first stop on the free battery car is the Daming Palace Ruins Museum, which has a scheduled explanation of about 10 minutes and some collections. It is good for those who are interested in history. You can watch 3D movies near the tourist center. I thought it was about some stories or related buildings of Daming Palace, but it turned out to be a love movie. Although the effect is good, it really has nothing to do with Daming Palace... It's a pity that I can't see the Daming Palace Museum next door during the renovation. I heard that it will be open on July 1. Anyway, this place is really cost-effective. People who just want to take pictures and check in don't need to buy tickets. When the weather is cooler, Daming Palace Park is also a good place to relax and walk.
It's too ordinary. The Danfeng Gate was restored later. The 60 yuan ticket is really not worth it. The ruins are all mounds of earth, and the buildings are also restored later. I don't recommend friends to go there. You can take a tour bus to go around and have a look. The tour bus costs 30-40 yuan per person, and there is no ticket for a circle around the outside.
I bought a ticket + sightseeing bus package in the China-TravelNote group, and the cost of the sightseeing bus was not very good. The paid attractions were very ordinary, and they were basically restored models. Due to time constraints, I did not visit the free part. The scenery and exhibits in the paid part lowered my overall expectations. I suggest you just visit the free part. The overall feeling is that the scenery is not as good as Furong Garden, and the collections are not as good as the Provincial Museum. There is also a display cabinet of a certain model that is full of willow catkins. While asking tourists to visit in a civilized manner, you should at least be nicer to your own models, and some models are even deformed.
My first impression of Daming Palace came from the classic "Daming Palace Ci", a unique and poetic and beautiful costume drama. It made me imagine Daming Palace as solemn, gorgeous, cold, poetic and dreamy.
There is a small train in the scenic area that can go around the park. I suggest you take it because the area of the Daming Palace is really too large, covering 3.2 square kilometers, which is 4.5 times the size of the Forbidden City. It is really not easy to walk. . Taking a small train to visit the Daming Palace is a worry-free and labor-saving way.
Although only some foundations remain, it was once the most magnificent palace complex in the world, equivalent to three Versailles Palaces, twelve Kremlins, thirteen Louvres, and fifteen Buckingham Palaces. The Forbidden City of the Ming and Qing Dynasties is the most intact palace complex in my country, and it is also one of the largest and most intact ancient wooden structures in the world. However, the Daming Palace is 4.5 times larger than the Forbidden City! Can you imagine how magnificent the Daming Palace was back then?
The Tang Dynasty was once one of the most powerful empires of its time! The Daming Palace was the palace of this once most prosperous dynasty, the political center and national symbol of the Tang Dynasty. It once witnessed the glory of the Zhenguan Reign and the Kaiyuan Prosperity, and also witnessed the irreversible decline of the Tang Dynasty.
So, if you come to Xi'an, I really suggest you not to miss this place. Although the Daming Palace no longer exists and not even the ruins are left, setting foot on this land and recalling this history is the meaning of coming here!
When you come to the Daming Palace, whether you take a taxi or a car, you must get off at the entrance of Danfeng Gate (or IMAX), otherwise you will be miserable because you have to walk for a long time, because you must first go to the tourist center, whether to buy tickets or exchange tickets. The ruins of the Daming Palace are very large, so the online guides recommend taking an electric car, which costs 30 yuan per person. The main get-off points are the Daming Palace Museum and the miniature landscape, which is about 300 meters to the right of the electric car. It is worth mentioning that there is an experience center opposite the exhibition hall. The venue uses movie settings to create a historical space. Wax figures and real people play the interiors of two important palaces in the Daming Palace-Xuanzheng Hall and Hanlin Academy, and interact with the audience. It is very interesting.
The ticket is 45 in the off-season. It is very big inside. Go in and walk to the left. There are people jogging in the morning. There are several buildings just after entering the door, and then there is a field of lavender. The color is quite beautiful. Then there is a thumbnail type, which is suitable for taking pictures. There is a large square in the front. Many people are rehearsing there. On the right, you can enter the Daming Palace Museum. Overall, it is recommended to go and see it if you want to understand cultural knowledge. Generally speaking, it is a museum. If you don’t like museums, don’t go.
The Daming Palace is really amazing👍. I personally think that it is a must-see attraction together with the ancient city wall. The total cost of the ticket is 73 yuan. You can watch a giant screen movie for about 40 minutes first, and then enter the park to take a battery car to visit. There are 2 exhibition halls in between. You must take a good look. The Danyang Gate is majestic. The Hanyuan Hall is where celebrations are held to receive foreign envoys. The Xuanzheng Hall is where the emperor attends court on a daily basis, and the Zichen Hall is where the emperor spends the most time living and working. Behind it is basically the imperial garden of the harem. The construction of the Daming Palace gathered the skilled craftsmen of the Tang Dynasty in the seventh century, which is a true portrayal of the heyday of the Tang Dynasty! Not only is the area several times that of the Forbidden City, even those palaces in Japan are basically copied from our Daming Palace in proportion! Although it was burned down by war in the later period, its significance in architectural history will never be erased. Every tile and blue brick is breathtaking. The three-hour visit really made me feel the sensory impact of the heyday of the Tang Dynasty! Worth a visit
The once magnificent complex, the Palace of a Thousand Palaces, is now only rammed earth.
Tips: When visiting Daming Palace Park, it is best to start from the South Gate Danfeng Gate. There are battery sightseeing cars that go around the park, and children can sit on them to save their energy. You can ride shared bicycles in Daming Palace.
Tips: There is a food street in Daming Palace Ruins Park. Remember, if you can drink boiled water, don't drink beverages. All beverages in the food street are not drinkable. The skewers must be fresh and grilled before buying. The park is big enough for a day of fun.
It is a big park. The 2015 Strawberry Music Festival was held here. If you want to do some exercise, this place is very suitable for cycling and kite flying. Many local residents come here for leisure activities. It is very suitable to come here to cool off in the summer evening.
It feels like a big park. There are no ruins inside. It's all lawn. People with good health can choose to walk. The ticket I bought includes electric car pick-up. I didn't watch the movie. I think it's meaningless, although the ticket includes
The 60 yuan adult ticket includes the Danfeng Gate Ruins Museum, the Daming Palace Ruins Museum, the Archaeological Exploration Center and the ruins of the major halls. The scenic area is very large, with sightseeing buses and bicycle rental services. You cannot ride outside bicycles or shared bicycles to enter the Daming Palace ruins in the center.
It is recommended to start the visit from the Danfeng Gate Ruins Museum in the south. The Daming Palace Art Gallery and the Daming Palace Ceramic Art Museum are on the west and east sides of Danfeng Gate. After crossing the Imperial Road Square to the north, you will pass the security check and enter the Daming Palace Ruins area. On the central axis are the Hanyuan Hall Ruins, Xuanzheng Hall Ruins, Zichen Hall Ruins, etc. On the east side is the exquisitely crafted Daming Palace miniature landscape, and further north is the Taiye Lake. There is an indoor exhibition hall on the central axis of the scenic area, which offers free explanations.
It's actually worth it. You can watch movies, take a tour bus in the reserve, and go to the Daming Palace Museum for free explanations. In the movie, you can see some restored scenes, which are very spectacular. Then go into the ruins park and you will feel that history is really cruel. The huge palace has turned into loess. It is still very shocking to see it.
After visiting Daming Palace, I think the happiest thing is that I can take the tour bus, because it is really hot! Umbrella and sunscreen must be brought!!!
When we got here, we found that this place is really huge. It is full of spring atmosphere, just like the spring described in elementary school textbooks, which makes me miss it so much.
There are many interesting places in the Daming Palace. People with children can bring them to the Archaeological Experience Center and the Beilin Museum. It is very interesting. I also had a lot of fun there.
The ruins park is very large, and one can imagine what a solemn and glorious scene it was here in the past. But all of that no longer exists, and now only the foundations of individual palaces remain to prove the existence of the Daming Palace.
Daming Palace is a heritage park, most of it is open to the public, and a small part is charged, which is of course the more important part of the heritage. However, I did not go in, but just took a look from a distance. It was a snowy day when we went there. We walked around in the park again and again, and finally it was too cold to stand it, so we watched a movie "Legend of Daming Palace" in the cinema in the park. I saw the prototype of Daming Palace in the movie. Two words: magnificent!!!
The gates of the palace are opened, and people from all over the world pay homage to the emperor.
The park covers a large area. Photography is my biggest hobby in life. I was on vacation alone, so the miniature of the Daming Palace in the park became my main subject of photography. I loved the photos after I finished taking them.
After climbing Huashan, I went there at around 9pm. I went from the south gate, Danfeng Gate. The city wall ruins were really impressive. Then behind Danfeng Gate, I caught the 4D projection that was playing. The effect was realistic and shocking. See the picture below.
It is quite monotonous and must be explained, otherwise it will be boring. It is basically a man-made landscape later. Only the remains of the original stone city are left.
It is not just the Daming Palace National Heritage Park, but for the whole Xi'an, it is not recommended for friends without cultural accumulation to visit without a guide. Otherwise, they will say:
Terracotta Warriors - a bunch of clay figures.
Ming City Wall - Not as far as I could see from the hotel.
Shuyuanmen - Selling brushes.
Bell Tower - An ancient building.
Muslim Street - selling snacks.
Daming Palace - woc. It's so huge.
Huashan - This mountain is really dangerous.
…
People with culture will always resonate with the ancients somewhere in the scenic area, feel the weight of history through their own precipitation in different time and space, and think about how glorious/cruel things have happened on this land. The common blood of the descendants of Yan and Huang builds a spiritual bridge with people of different times.
I don't have much education, but standing on the ruins of the Daming Palace, I recalled many past events in the Tang Dynasty Palace in ancient books and movies. I was filled with emotion.
Let’s take a look at the differences in travel mood caused by cultural differences!
The realm of thought determines the dimension of the tour, so it’s not that the scenic spot is bad, but…
Read thousands of books first, then travel thousands of miles! Otherwise, you might as well go on a treadmill to exercise.
