The Hanyang Mausoleum Scenic Area is divided into the Mausoleum of Emperor Jing, the Underground Museum, the Mausoleum of Queen Wang, the Nanque Gate Site, the Ritual Architecture Site and the Archaeological Exhibition Hall (all with one ticket). Maybe because I arrived late, I didn't see the shuttle bus (but I suspect there is no shuttle bus, and I didn't see the platform or the ticket office for the shuttle bus). The first four attractions can be walked together, and the last two are a little further away.
Not many people go to Hanyang Mausoleum, but it is really worth coming. Hanyang Mausoleum was built in 153 BC and completed in 126 BC. The mausoleum covers an area of 20 square kilometers. It is the tomb of Emperor Jing of the Western Han Dynasty and Queen Wang. It is the most well-preserved imperial mausoleum of the Han Dynasty discovered so far. The most praised thing about Hanyang Mausoleum is that the museum is built directly on the excavated burial pit. It is an underground museum. Through the glass, you can see the situation of the pottery figurines in the pit at a close distance. The main tomb has not been excavated yet. There are 10 outer pits open, and there are still many outer pits that have not been excavated. There is also a Nanquemen Ruins Protection Exhibition Hall next to it, where you can see the restored gatehouse and the ruins inside, which is also very spectacular. According to the introduction, there is also an archaeological exhibition hall in the park, but it is very far away and I didn’t go there because of limited time. In autumn, you can also see a large area of ginkgo trees in Hanyang Mausoleum, which should be beautiful.
The Hanyang Mausoleum Museum is located in a desolate place. As it is a museum built directly in the mausoleum, there is only lawn on the surface.
You must follow the guide to visit the Hanyang Mausoleum, and follow the explanation along the tomb pit to understand the culture of burial sacrifice in the Han Dynasty and feel the grand scale of the ancient mausoleum. Although I didn't take a photo, the armless wooden figurines arranged in the mausoleum revealed a bit of weirdness.
If you have time, you can go there. There are very few people and the exhibition format is relatively novel.
If you don’t have enough time, there is a special exhibition of Hanyang Mausoleum in the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Exhibition Hall. Just watch the promotional video in full! ! 😂😂😂
Yangling Mausoleum of Han, also known as "Yangling", is a cemetery where Emperor Jing of Han, Liu Qi, and his empress, Wang, were buried together in the same tomb but in different graves.
Han Yangling is the mausoleum of Emperor Jing of Han, located in Weicheng District. The main tomb of Yangling has not been excavated yet, and it is unknown whether it has been stolen. The most common cultural relics in the mausoleum are various pottery figurines, including soldier figurines, singing and dancing figurines, palace maid figurines, animal figurines, etc. These cultural relics were excavated from the burial pits.
It's great. I came during the Spring Festival and there were not many people. I need to ask for a guide. The glass underground palace is amazing!
There are not many tourists in this place, and the museum is opened directly on the tomb, giving people an immersive feeling.
The bus for Tour 4 is not on time. Yangling will be under repair for four months from September, and some exhibitions are not open. It feels a bit late to visit the ginkgo forest. You must go at noon when the sun is shining to take better photos.
Take a bus from Xianyang to Hanyangling Railway Station. The bus departs on the hour. See the picture for round trip bus between Xi'an and Hanyangling. It costs 2 yuan and takes about half an hour to get to the subway station.
Seeing the huge crowds at the entrance of Shaanxi History Museum, I immediately decided to go to Hanyangling. I took the subway Line 2 north to Sports Park Station, and got out of Exit D to take a Didi. It was a relatively quick way. I tried my luck after coming out of Yangling and took a Didi. Surprisingly, a driver from Xianyang came and took me back to the subway station.
The ticket price for Hanyang Mausoleum is 80 yuan (excluding phantom imaging). The main attractions are:
01-The Underground Museum of the Funeral Pit: The most important attraction is going deep underground to get up close and personal with the terracotta warriors. The lighting is a little dim, which is very different from other museum experiences.
02-Nanquemen Site Protection Hall, the building's exterior has been restored to its original form, and the interior is actually a steel structure protection cover. It is very large and there are not many tourists. There are stairs to go up to view the site from the top, and there are also graphic introduction panels about "Que", which are very detailed and worth seeing.
03-The burial mound of Emperor Jing. It was summer when we went there and it was too hot outside, otherwise we could have expressed some nostalgic feelings.
04-We gave up visiting the Queen Wang’s Tomb and Yangling Exhibition Hall, which were far away, because the weather was too hot.
Hanyang Mausoleum is the mausoleum of Emperor Jing of Han, Liu Qi. Apart from the Reign of Emperor Wen and Emperor Jing, I can think of Beauty’s Rival in Palace and Emperor of Han. Emmm, I feel like I’m a bit shallow… Haha, embarrassing…
It is said that only a part of it has been developed using high-tech means. The entire area that can be visited is built of tempered glass. All of them are funerary objects, and the main focus is listening to explanations. From the outside, you can only see the high mound.
It's terrible. Not to mention the taxi fare increase, it's impossible to get a taxi! It's not a waste of time, so don't come.
The biggest difference between Hanyang Mausoleum and Terracotta Warriors is that you can enter the high-tech museum, go down to the excavation site, walk on the glass plank road to observe the unearthed Han Dynasty cultural relics up close! There is no noisy noise, only the history told by the guide and the rows of Han Dynasty terracotta warriors under your feet, which is very unique!
The place is quite large, the environment is good, and it is a good place for tourism and leisure. In May, various roses are blooming, flowers are in full bloom, and ginkgo trees are falling leaves🍂.
All the artifacts you see inside are real.
It is said that the glass and cold light lamps are imported from abroad, and the temperature in the tomb needs to be kept constant. It is known as the first high-tech museum. You need to wear shoe covers when entering and step on the glass. There are real cultural relics and various pottery underneath. Of course, there are also several holes for robbers.
Overall, it's so-so, the ticket price is a bit expensive and not worth it, the public service is a bit poor and the toilet is too dirty. In the scenic area, you can see the chariot and horse pits for burial, as well as the mounds.
The funniest thing is that there is a stele at the Queen's Mausoleum, saying it is the tomb of Emperor Hui of Han. I am also drunk, what a mistake →_→
A super super super recommended museum! ~~~ It is no exaggeration to say that this is my favorite museum during this trip to Xi'an. The ticket price is conscience, 55 yuan in the off-season. During the entire visit, the underground exhibition hall is directly visited at the bottom of the pit. The museum has a fully transparent glass isolation, visitors can walk on it and observe the visit in all directions. Shoe covers are distributed when entering the museum, and the entire museum is protected from light. Very good. The tour guide is also very good. The "Shanshan's Smile" staff who sells peripherals in the museum will also talk to you about the history of Yangling. It's really good. I don't know if it's because there is not much publicity, the entire attraction is sparsely populated even during the Spring Festival holiday, and the visit feels very comfortable. The one-day tour group also passed by in a hurry. The best choice for free travel. Take the tour bus 4 directly from the Xi'an Library, the whole journey is about one hour, and the ticket price is 2 yuan. Conscience. It's just that the departure time is a bit long. You can Baidu the specific time on the same day, which is quite accurate.
When I went in, it seemed that there was no light on, and I couldn't even see the road clearly. Although there are buses, it is still too remote.
The Yangling Mausoleum of Emperor Jing of Han is a well-preserved high-tech museum. The burial tunnels can be visited up close. They are open to tourists during the day and archaeologists can continue to protect them at night.
Increase historical knowledge, visit and learn on site, and understand the situation at that time
Located in Xianyang City, the wind is strong and it will be cold after the National Day holiday.
The surrounding environment is very good and the greenery is good
The internal facilities are very complete and the scale is not small. There is no building on the ground. The que tower was rebuilt.
Not bad, the glass corridor of the burial pit makes people feel like they are in the cemetery. There are few people and you can visit it carefully.
Hanyangling is located in the suburbs, which is suitable for self-driving tours. It is also due to geographical reasons that there are few people.
The landmark of Hanyang Mausoleum is not clear enough. As soon as you exit the underground museum, all you see are hills. Tourists are often confused and it is common for them to walk on the outdoor stone path for ten minutes.
After I came out of the first underground museum, I was really confused. Who was I? Where was I? What was I doing?
The real Hanyang Mausoleum has not been excavated. Only a few burial pits can be visited. There are also several robbery holes on the Hanyang Mausoleum, and the situation below is still unknown. The cultural relics are well protected and you can stand on the glass and look down from above.
I went there specifically to see the Ginkgo Forest, but to be honest, the Ginkgo Forest is very small. Not only is the area small, but the trees are not very old either. What makes people feel even more depressed is that this small Ginkgo Forest is fenced off and there is a fee for visiting. Fortunately, I used the Shaanxi Tourism Annual Card when I went there, but it is no longer available this year. In addition to the small Ginkgo Forest, I mainly visited the Burial Pit Museum and Yangling Museum outside. The Burial Pit Museum is an underground exhibition hall. As long as you look at the situation inside the burial pit, it is a bit gloomy for children. It is better to forget about it for timid children, but for those who like to study history and culture, it is still necessary to see it. It is quite good. There is not much to see in the Yangling Mausoleum itself, but the scenery is still beautiful! Parking is 5 yuan, which is still cheap.
It is 12:12 Beijing time now, and I am in the Hanyangling Scenic Area. The Hanyangling Museum is mainly composed of an underground museum, an exhibition hall and a ginkgo forest. Due to time constraints, I only visited the underground museum. The ticket price in the off-season is 50 yuan, and the tour guide is 50 yuan. The tour guide girl is wearing Hanfu, which is fun. The underground museum is built directly on the tomb pit, and tourists step on the suspended glass to visit. Hanyangling is mainly to understand the history of the early Han Dynasty, but what I want to complain about is the public transportation service, which is too bad. The time is not accurate at all. The No. 5 bus said it would leave at 12:00, but it was not on time at all, and the waiting time was too long.
The location is good, not too far from the airport! The highlight is the burial pit of Emperor Jing of Han, which is the underground exhibition hall. When I went there in 2013, there was also a museum. When I went there again last year, I didn't know where the museum had moved to.
Hanyangling is worth a visit~~The tomb of Emperor Jing Liu Qi~~
It looks very spectacular. Such a large tomb could have been built thousands of years ago.
4.25 10am-12pm The underground mausoleum is very impressive and worth a visit
The 2016 Shaanxi Tourism Annual Pass includes this attraction. I went to see it and found that a museum was built above the archaeological site. It is very advanced. The mound in the picture is the emperor's mausoleum. Currently, only a few burial pits have been developed. Since the archaeological site is underground, the light is very dim for cultural preservation, so I didn't take any photos.
First of all, the transportation is not very convenient. Although Hanyang Mausoleum is in Xianyang, there is only bus No. 5 from Xianyang (but No. 5 has two small roads), and it is not displayed at the bus station. After arriving, it is only at the south gate of the scenic area, not the ticket office. Because it is not fully developed, there are no attractions inside, just an exhibition hall and exhibition hall with more content.
Hanyang Mausoleum is the mausoleum of Emperor Jing of Han, Liu Qi, and his empress. Due to the remote location of the mausoleum and the inconvenient transportation, there are very few tourists. In fact, the development of Hanyang Mausoleum is quite unique among the many imperial mausoleums in Xi'an and even in the country, and it is very worth visiting.
At present, the main tomb of Hanyang Mausoleum has not been excavated, and only several burial pits around it have been developed. The most distinctive one is the protection and exhibition hall of the outer burial pit site. You need to wear shoe covers to enter the exhibition hall. You can walk directly on the glass laid above the tomb passage and watch the whole mausoleum and the excavation site from a bird's-eye view. This method almost restores the real situation inside the mausoleum, and it is one of the mausoleums that makes tourists feel closest to the historical scene. The lighting in the underground exhibition hall is extremely dim, and the glass curtain walls on both sides and below are filled with burial pottery figurines, pottery, etc., which feels a bit like "Grave Robbers' Chronicles".
In addition to the outer storage pit and the nearby Dongque Gate, it takes more than ten minutes to walk to the Archaeological Exhibition Hall, where some cultural relics excavated from the outer storage pit are displayed. If time is convenient, you can walk or take the scenic area's battery car to visit. The exhibition layout of the scenic area is relatively scattered and is still under development, so different attractions are scattered far apart.
The ticket price for Hanyang Mausoleum is 90 yuan (2013). You can take a tourist bus from Xi'an Library to Hanyang Mausoleum directly from downtown Xi'an, or take a bus to Xianyang first, and then take local transportation from Xianyang Bus Station to get there. The return tourist bus from Hanyang Mausoleum leaves at 12:30, so when making a travel plan, you can usually arrange Hanyang Mausoleum as the first attraction of the day and return to Xi'an in the afternoon to continue the visit. It takes about one hour to visit the underground exhibition hall alone, and about two to three hours to visit the entire scenic area. In short, Hanyang Mausoleum is a highly recommended attraction.
The Hanyang Mausoleum, located in the north of Xi'an and the south of Xianyang, is one of the most visited mausoleums in China. Although I went there a few years ago, I still have a deep memory of it!
I went to see it when I passed by. It is better than Qianling Mausoleum in that the mausoleum area is open. The ticket is mainly for the above-ground museum. The two very high burial mounds are very spectacular.
The whole scenic spot is not big. After entering, you will see a big mound, which is the emperor's tomb. There are many burial pits on all sides. The underground exhibition hall that is open now is the funerary objects excavated from several of the burial pits. The others have not been excavated for technical reasons. The things inside can be seen in a style different from the Terracotta Warriors, and we can see the impact of the change of dynasties on culture.
The essence is in the underground museum. The underground museum is the first modern underground museum in China that is close to the imperial mausoleum, separates cultural relics and tourists in two different microclimate environments, and fully protects the site. It also uses internationally advanced supporting facilities. There are a large number of pottery figurines, including warriors, ladies, civil officials, as well as pottery livestock and wooden carriages and horses, which are the highlights of the tour. No matter what the temperature is outside, the underground museum is still relatively cool. Walking along the glass passage built on the mausoleum pit, you will slowly enter the "wow" exclamation from the beginning! I personally think that it is even deeper than the Terracotta Warriors. It may be because the museum is built in the underground tomb passage. The environment, lighting, etc. can deepen the experience.
There are relatively few people going to Hanyang Mausoleum, it is quite empty. When we arrived that day, it was about 10 o'clock, and there was wind blowing in our faces, which felt very comfortable. This is the weather you should have when you go out to play. I almost got sunburned a few days ago. It is recommended to take the 9:30 bus when you go there and the 12:30 bus when you come back. In fact, if you come back faster, you can catch the 10:30 bus, because there is not much to see. One is the outer collection exhibition hall, where you can see many burial tunnels. I have read too many tomb robbers' notes. It was the first time I saw these tunnels and burial figurines up close. I was a little excited. Another one is the Nanquemen site. If you don't have time, you can walk nearby to take a photo, because there is really nothing inside. If you have time, go in and take a look, you can see several robber holes.
Although the excavation has not been completed, it is still worth a visit.
There are actually several attractions in Hanyang Mausoleum, the most important of which is the burial pit. I personally think it is more beautiful than the Terracotta Warriors.
There are not many people going there, but it is definitely a great place for those who go there during the peak season! The disadvantage is that it is difficult to get a tour guide because there are not many people. This is a museum built on the entire site, and the visual experience of the scene is absolutely great!
This is a place that people in China don't like to visit because it has only been partially excavated and there is relatively little explanation. It is a place where you need to do your homework in advance before visiting.
But it is highly recommended and you must watch it.
You can see the entire excavation process, the craftsmanship level, social culture, etc. of the Han Dynasty, which is very shocking.
Early in the morning, I took the bus to Hanyang Mausoleum from Xianyang Railway Station. It cost 6 yuan per person and took about 40 minutes to arrive. I entered from the back door and came directly to the ginkgo forest. About 200 meters away from the ginkgo forest, there are dozens of acres of maple forest. The maple leaves are not red yet. In about 10 days, the red maple leaves should turn red. Come and see it then!
Hanyang Mausoleum gave me a completely different feeling. Whether it was the formal design, the collection of exhibits, or the performance of the explanations, I was satisfied with them all. I won’t say more so as not to affect friends who are planning to go there.
The entire cemetery is centered on the imperial tomb, guarded by four corners, symmetrical from north to south, connected from east to west, with a regular layout and rigorous structure, reflecting the royal consciousness of supremacy and strict hierarchical concepts.
The war horses unearthed in the mausoleum, the chariots at that time were still very impressive
A highlight of the Hanyang Mausoleum is the suspended tempered glass. Visitors can see the unearthed tombs under their feet, which allows them to get closer to history and protect the historical sites well.
The scene inside the pit shows that Emperor Jing of Han was relatively frugal during his reign, so that the people could have a better rest and recuperation.
The design of the Hanyang Mausoleum,
It is truly amazing.
The burial pits are completely protected by glass.
Temperature and humidity are under control.
And people walked down the glass,
Looking at the transparent Hanyang Mausoleum under my feet,
So it actually feels like walking on air.
Those cultural relics are right under your feet.
But I can't touch it,
Of course, there are still many people who dare not walk on this glass.
——Afraid of falling.
Arriving at Hanyang Mausoleum, there were indeed not many people.
To be honest, I was a little disappointed with the underground museum. The lighting was extremely dim, and the glass was not clean and had many scratches. The legendary terracotta warriors were rarely right under my feet, but usually beside them.
The main purpose is to visit the underground museum. You need to wear foot covers before entering the door, but I saw that the foreign tourists who entered did not wear them. I wonder if they were not aware of it or if it was a special treatment? The foot covers should be to protect the tempered glass inside that replaces the floor. After entering, the same thing happened again, just follow the guide! Under the tempered glass is the real archaeological site, which is very immersive. It took less than an hour to walk around. The tour guide explained the shopping spot, and we turned back to watch the phantom imaging that started at 12 o'clock. The performance lasted about 20 minutes.
After exiting the underground museum is the Nanque Gate, which is under renovation and cannot be entered. Regretfully, I walked down the stairs and took the free sightseeing bus at the entrance to the archaeological exhibition hall, which basically exhibits various funerary objects in the Hanyang Mausoleum.
It is the tomb of Emperor Jing of Han, Liu Qi, who lived during the reign of Emperor Wen and Emperor Jing of the Western Han Dynasty. The tomb is large in scale and has been best excavated and protected.
I personally think that Hanyang Mausoleum is quite special, just like what is said on the Internet. The museum is underground. Standing on the glass and looking down, the tomb is right under your feet. It feels very different. This is something that other mausoleums cannot feel, that kind of gloomy feeling. There is also psychedelic imaging, which is quite nice. But the whole museum is not that big, and there are many things that have not been excavated yet. It's gone after walking for a while.
The only underground museum in the country, take a look at its viewing experience mode, just for this, everything is worth it
The off-season ticket is 55 yuan (including a 3D holographic movie, but people who are good at history can choose not to watch it, those who just want to watch the fun can watch it, and the 10 yuan is included in the ticket). After buying the ticket, enter from the east gate. This is the site of the East Que Gate.
After entering, I found out that only the northeast corner of the tomb of Emperor Jing of Han was excavated. But there are quite a lot of things. Mainly pottery figurines. I jokingly call it an underground zoo.
As it turned out, this very unpopular attraction did not disappoint us. There were many foreigners and Hong Kong tourists, but very few mainland tourists. Hanyang Mausoleum is the mausoleum where Emperor Jing of Han Liu Qi and his queen were buried together. It is still pretty good.
The museum is uniquely designed, with visitors standing on a special glass floor overlooking the various funerary passages and thousands of ceramic dolls and animal dolls.
It is worth mentioning that there is an interesting performance in Yangling Museum called "Phantom Play", which is like shadow play, but with phantoms.
Hanyang Mausoleum is a relatively late tomb-style scenic spot developed in Xi'an, so it is also very distinctive. On the basis of maximum protection, people can experience the mystery and grandeur of the underground palace. If you are not a professional or have a deep understanding of cultural relics, it is best to ask for an interpreter, otherwise it will be like going to see pots, pans, and natives.
This is a quiet scenic spot with few people, unlike many other famous scenic spots in Xi'an that are full of people. It is for this reason that I took the guide for granted. This is the real visit to the underground palace. The tomb passage and the tomb chamber are right under your feet. Looking all the way, you have to sigh at the luxury of the ancient emperors who treated death as life. The phantom movie in the Hanyang Mausoleum tells the love story of Emperor Hanyang and the Queen, which is also worth watching.
Hanyang Mausoleum is the joint burial site of Emperor Jing of Han, Liu Qi, and his queen, Wang. A protection and exhibition hall for the burial pit outside the imperial mausoleum was built on the northeast side of the mausoleum.
The layout and furnishings are arranged as close to the state when the terracotta warriors were first unearthed as possible. The light in the museum is dim, and people can visit the unearthed cultural relics from Yangling through the glass walkway. This museum's furnishing method really brings people into the ancient historical atmosphere, which is "very feel" as Guangzhou people say. However, according to local tour guides, only 340,000 people visit Yangling Museum every year, while the number of people visiting the Terracotta Warriors during the National Day Golden Week is as high as 120,000 per day. The main reason why Yangling Museum is rarely visited is that it is not well-known.
Hanyang Mausoleum is the mausoleum of Emperor Jing of Han. I watched "Beauty's Rival in Palace" not long ago and was very moved by the Han Dynasty. Of course I have to pay tribute to my ancestors if I have the chance!
When you walk into the underground museum of Hanyang Mausoleum where the "Oriental Venus" was unearthed, you will be deeply shocked by the perfection and breadth of the historical relics. At this moment, you will understand that this is Xi'an.
It was my first time to visit a real archaeological site, and I would be lying if I didn't get excited. And I went to the tomb of Emperor Wu of Han, Liu Che, his father. The burial pit was full of remnants of pottery and pottery figurines, but what really caught the world's attention was the naked servants! Unlike the Terracotta Warriors of the Qin Dynasty, the torsos of the burial servants of this period were made of fired pottery, but their hands were formed by splicing wooden sticks. Buried deep underground, as time passed, the beautiful clothes and moving hands of the pottery figurines turned into dust, becoming what we see today - naked servants.
Notice: Due to the limitations of lighting and external conditions (the excavation site is surrounded by glass), the photo looks like it has been shaken a lot, but it is not. I took this photo with great effort. Because it is the first time I took a photo through glass.
The first surprise is Hanyang Mausoleum! Friends who have been to the Terracotta Warriors and are interested in ancient royal tombs must not miss it. It is highly recommended! Because I was alone today, I made an appointment with a friend at random. I didn’t expect that he was a college student (a small surprise). There were only four passengers on the bus to Hanyang Mausoleum. It was also deserted when I entered the scenic area. In my opinion, it is not surprising to meet ghosts, but it is unexpected to meet people. Although there are not many people, I still listened to the words of my friends on China-TravelNote and spent money to find an interpreter. When I entered the underground palace, I was stunned. I was really in a state of wc! So handsome! The commentary was 50 (because it only talked about the underground palace). It was really worth it. It was very careful. Because there were few people, you can walk around slowly. If you have any questions, you can answer them. My brother and I think it is worth the money! ! P.S. The departure time of Tour 4 is fixed, and there are not many buses. Friends who want to go should calculate the time in advance!
