Huaqing Palace has been a popular place for royal family to visit and bathe since ancient times. It is said that it was the place where Yang Guifei bathed. It is said that King You of the Western Zhou Dynasty built Liguan here.
There are relatively complete cultural relics resources such as cultural sites, garden landscapes, ancient buildings, ancient trees and famous trees from the Zhou, Qin, Han, Tang, Ming and Qing dynasties left here.
It is especially famous for the lingering love story between Emperor Minghuang of Tang and Yang Guifei and the "Xi'an Incident" that shocked China and the world. It was built successively in the Qin, Han and Sui dynasties, and was expanded several times in the Tang Dynasty.

The key point!!! The place where you take the cable car to Mount Li is outside Huaqing Palace! ! Outside! Outside! ! ! It's important to say it three times! ! It's not written in various guides! ! If you want to go to Mount Li, take the cable car down first and then visit Huaqing Garden! ! ! ! As a landmark attraction in Xi'an, it is still worth visiting. After all, it is a landmark of Tang Dynasty culture. We bought travel products on China-TravelNote. The ticket + the cable car up to Mount Li cost 122 per person, which is much cheaper than the on-site ticket of 120 and the cable car up of 35. But it is not recommended to go to Mount Li. Not to mention wasting time, there are no interesting attractions. In Huaqing Palace, you can see the "bath pool" of the ancients, hahaha. And the 6D movie of Xuanjing Changshengdian, in fact, the effect is not very good. There are four floors of antique buildings, and a short film is played on each floor. The performance form is still good, but the plot needs to be scrutinized. I always feel that the love of the emperor should not be so emmm, how can I say it so mediocre, following the concubine to blow and beat =-=! I don't quite understand. It is also ridiculous to end the war with a woman. On the other hand, in Huaqing Palace you can see the old site where Chiang Kai-shek once lived and worked.
Huaqing Palace is 60 miles east of Xi'an. As early as the pre-Qin period, there were royal palaces and villas built here. Many historical stories took place in Mount Li and Huaqing Palace. In addition to numerous palaces, hot springs and imperial hot spring sites, there are also high-quality art performances such as the Song of Everlasting Regret. Ordinary tourists can only visit the scenic spots. If they want to soak in the hot springs, they must stay in the hotel inside.
I went to Huaqing Palace yesterday, and I really felt that it was not worth the ticket price. It felt like it had a false reputation. It was famous, but there was nothing to see. Except for the emperor's bathing pool, which still had a little water left, everything else, like the imperial concubine's Begonia Pool, was dry and empty. In order to get to know the Terracotta Warriors and Huaqing Palace better, I signed up for a one-day tour. Later, I was told that there was a Xi'an Incident performance in Huaqing Palace, and they said everyone had to watch it. It cost 169 yuan, which felt like a big rip-off. Everyone went to watch it, and if they didn't go, they would have to wait for an hour, so I followed them. The stage construction was indeed unique, and the performance format was also quite special. Overall, it was okay. Now in Huaqing Palace, you can mainly watch Chiang Kai-shek's capture and the Xi'an Incident, rather than actually watching the royal bathing in the past. I didn't feel very good after the tour.
A love story, a poem, a couple.
Yang Yuhuan was born beautiful and charming, so naturally, she was destined to have an extraordinary life. At the age of seventeen, she was chosen by Prince Shou and married into the royal family.
A few years later, after the death of Prince Shou's mother, Concubine Wu Huifei, Emperor Xuanzong of Tang was in pain and anxiety. By chance, he caught a glimpse of the face and charm of his daughter-in-law Yang Yuhuan. Emperor Xuanzong, who had seen countless women, was stunned and lost his appetite. He was obsessed with her.
Therefore, Emperor Xuanzong of Tang brought Yang Yuhuan into the harem and canonized her as Yang Guifei. At the same time, he took a new concubine for Prince Shou, thus stealing the love of his son, and thus his daughter-in-law became his wife.
The old man and young wife, who were more than 30 years apart in age, began a life of love. They both loved music and had a connection with each other. Although they were an emperor and a concubine, in daily life, they were more like a loving couple. Yang Yuhuan loved Li Longji, and she also hoped that Li Longji would give him all his love. She loved to eat, play, enjoy, and throw tantrums. She liked to be coaxed and praised. She was innocent but full of charm. Li Longji enjoyed this confused love and even opened up a tribute road of thousands of miles at all costs, just so that his little woman could have a bite of fresh lychees. In Huaqing Pool, they bathed together and mandarin ducks played in the water.
But he was the emperor and she was the concubine, destined not to live a life of frolicking like a rich man and a young lady. The An-Shi Rebellion broke out, with smoke everywhere, thousands of horses galloping, and the sound of killing like a tide. At Maweiyi, behind the flashes of swords and shadows were the separation of life and death. Yang Guifei died, and Emperor Xuanzong of Tang was sad, while Emperor Suzong of Tang rose in the blood and headed northward to the stage of history.
The two people who once played in the Huaqing Pool would never have imagined that this love that they swore to love forever would end up in such a miserable and desolate way.
Huaqing Palace was first built in the early Tang Dynasty. It is built against the backdrop of Mount Li with its back to the mountain and its buildings magnificent. The palaces are scattered all over Mount Li. After Emperor Xuanzong of Tang came to power, he carefully built such a grand palace. He would visit it almost every October.
Huaqing Pool and Mount Li have now been merged into Huaqing Palace-Mount Li Scenic Area, with a ticket price of 120 yuan/person. When we went there, Huaqing Palace had a discount ticket, with a ticket price of 108 yuan/person. In addition, the one-way ticket for Mount Li cableway is 30 yuan/person
There is nothing to see. I traveled by myself. The only thing in the whole park is the Xi'an Incident 12. The show on 12 is worth watching. The ticket is 169 yuan. There is no need to go up to the Bingjian Pavilion. I took the 20 yuan sightseeing bus to go up. I regretted it so much after seeing the pavilion. I didn't take any photos and immediately got off the bus to queue up for the show. I must sit in the first row in the middle. I sat in the first row. The scenery at the foot of the mountain was good and I could take photos. I didn't go up to Mount Li. Don't be reluctant to spend money that you should spend. Don't spend money that you don't need to go to. The tour guide's explanation is still very important...
In addition to the urban area during the Spring Festival, the Huaqing Palace in Lintong District not far away is also decorated with various exquisite and beautiful lanterns. The rich festive atmosphere greets you the moment you step into the park. It is a great place for the Spring Festival that you cannot miss.
However, during the Spring Festival, there were many tourists here, so the dream portraits of people among the small bridges and flowing water that I had always longed for in my mind could only be shattered. Fortunately, the pavilions in Huaqing Palace are scattered and the trails are winding, so it is easy to avoid some tourists with the camera. It is not out of place to wear simple Hanfu and walk there.
The sky gradually darkened, and the light show in Huaqing Palace began unnoticed.
The palace lanterns were lit and the colorful lights were dazzling. Mount Li, which served as the background, was also decorated and sparkled. It could be said that the water and the sky were one color, as if the entire palace was dressed in a gorgeous coat, dazzling and colorful.
In fact, the Huaqing Palace Lantern Festival is not the first year. Large red lanterns are hung on each palace, and the yellow flower-shaped chandeliers make the winding corridors even more bright red. The vertical Tang-style palace lanterns replaced the original street lights in the garden, making people feel like they are walking through a tunnel back to the heyday, dreamy and mysterious.
The most impressive thing in Huaqing Palace is the set of dynamic colored lights of "Dragons and Phoenixes" on the Furong Lake in front of the Changsheng Hall.
I thought this was the most exciting part of the lantern festival, but I didn’t expect that when the music started, the stage of The Song of Everlasting Sorrow on Jiulong Lake suddenly became brightly lit.
This high-tech stage is well-known both at home and abroad. I have long heard that Huaqing Palace's "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" is magnificent, stunning and brilliant, and the wonderful performance is hard to get a ticket. Now looking at the grand scene in front of me, I can't help but sigh from the bottom of my heart, it's really shocking!
The huge historical projection with Mount Li as the background, the stars twinkling and the bright moon in the sky, is simply a 3D landscape painting. The laser beams on both sides of the stage waved in the dynamic and lively music, attracting the audience to dance along with the music, just like a large disco. I have never been to a disco before, but seeing such a scene, I was also infected and wanted to let myself go and join the crowd to party.
During the day, I still regretted that the Huaqing Palace in winter was not as beautiful as I imagined, but now standing in this already exciting Spring Festival Lantern Festival, I am super lucky. It feels like the happiest moment of the Spring Festival in Xi'an. If you ask where is the most festive place in Xi'an during the Spring Festival, Huaqing Palace is a place you absolutely cannot miss.
I went there during the Spring Festival without the performance of Song of Everlasting Regret, which was a bit of a pity. I hired a guide and it was a little more interesting, otherwise I would just look at a few hot springs haha... In addition to the original site of the Tang Dynasty palace, the scenic spot also has the five rooms where Chiang Kai-shek lived when he fled during the Xi'an Incident. I didn't go to Mount Li. The pavilion in the picture below is sealed and can't be climbed. It was used by Yang Guifei to dry her hair after taking a bath.
The Tang Dynasty Huaqing Palace was a palace for the feudal emperors of the Tang Dynasty. Later, it was also called "Huaqing Pool". It is located in Lintong District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It includes the former Lishan National Forest Park, and is known as one of the four major royal gardens in China, along with the Summer Palace, the Old Summer Palace, and the Chengde Mountain Resort. After the An-Shi Rebellion, the political situation suddenly changed, and the popularity of Huaqing Palace declined rapidly. After the Tang Dynasty, emperors of various dynasties rarely visited Huaqing Palace. After that, the royal family of each dynasty repaired it, but before liberation, the hot spring pool was deserted and the palace was sparse. After liberation, the People's Government of Huaqing Pool has carried out large-scale expansion since 1959.
I think you must ask for an explanation!!! Without an explanation, you will just be passing through and not understanding anything, wasting time and tickets. It is most cost-effective to ask for an explanation and join a group. The fee is 100 yuan for 1-5 people, and 100 yuan for one person. If you go with 5 people, it will be 20 yuan per person. It is best to avoid lunch time because it is difficult to join a group during that time period.
The tour guide will give you this machine, and you can hear the tour guide's explanation by putting on the headset. In the past, you could hear the explanation even if you followed the tour guide. Now, each tour guide has his or her own exclusive channel, and they speak very quietly, so you may not be able to hear clearly even if you follow the tour guide.
The hot spring pool where Yang Guifei bathed and changed clothes. The pictures I saw in the book before seemed very small. I wondered how people could sit in it if it was so small? Actually, it was quite big when I saw it in person. It just looked small in the photo.
There is a cultural and creative store at the exit of Huaqing Palace. There are all kinds of cultural and creative products. It is a good idea to go shopping and buy some things to give to friends or as souvenirs.
We inexplicably hired a tour guide to give us explanations (it was a rare opportunity for us to show off our wealth), and the tour guide was quite nice and gave us a small discount.
There will be a performance of "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" here in the evening. I really wanted to see it, but it added another regret to my trip to Xi'an! The tickets are still a little expensive for us, and the tour guide said that there might not be any tickets available.
After listening to it for the first time, I understand that Huaqing Pool is the place where the emperor and his concubines used to take a hot spring bath. It is really luxurious.
The water in this pool is said to be the same hot spring water that people used to take baths in back then. A tour guide nearby said it was used for beauty treatments.
We went with a tour group. I thought Huaqing Palace was just a few ordinary pools. It seemed boring without a tour guide, so I signed up for a tour group. Huaqing Palace was where Yang Guifei bathed. It was very quiet. After entering, you can see a very conspicuous statue of Yang Guifei coming out of the bath. Above Huaqing Palace is Mount Li, which is said to be the scene of Chiang Kai-shek's Xi'an Incident. Chiang Kai-shek fled to the mountain and hid there. The soldiers searched the mountain for a long time before finding him.
The statue of the imperial concubine bathing was crowded with tourists, and the guides of several tour groups were talking about the same "rumors" in the bathing pools. I just don't know if there were really any midnight whispers in the Changsheng Palace.
There was supposed to be a holographic show here that was said to be very good, but we missed the last batch of people entering and had to leave with regret.
Going further up the mountain, there are several relics of the Xi'an Incident. The gunshot holes are still vivid, which is in stark contrast to the extravagant and decadent Huaqing Pool at the foot of the mountain.
Be it a bath or a gunfight, what is left now are only green bricks, green leaves and red carp racing in the water.
When we walked to the entrance, the sculpture of the imperial concubine taking a bath came into view. It was indeed breathtaking. Even today, we can still feel the charm of Yang Yuhuan. When we walked into the scenic area, the tour guide introduced to us that this was not only the place where Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei bathed, but also the place where the Double Twelve Xi'an Incident occurred. I was stunned. Since I learned history in junior high school, I always heard about the causes and consequences of the Xi'an Incident, but I never seriously understood it. It turns out that the place where the incident occurred was here in Huaqing Palace. It really increased my knowledge!
I didn't take photos of the bathroom because the weather was good that day, there were quite a lot of tour groups, and everyone started the tour at about the same time, so there were a lot of people. If you walk in, you will reach the guard room of Chairman Chiang. If you wanted to see Chairman Chiang back then, you had to register here and wait for permission.
We started to visit the hot spring where the imperial concubine used to bathe. Before we even entered the room where the hot spring was located, a sculpture of the imperial concubine bathing stood in front of us, which really made us imagine! Next, we entered the palace and visited the hot springs of Yang Yuhuan, Li Longji and Li Shimin. Unfortunately, the time period was awkward this time, and the performance of "Song of Everlasting Regret" in the scenic area was not scheduled. I originally thought I could watch "1212 Xi'an Incident", but they also "closed the door and did not see me". Alas, what a pity!
It's off-season now, and the ticket price is 120 yuan. I saw many comments that it's not recommended, but since I'm here, I might as well go and have a look. It's true what everyone says, you'll regret not seeing it, and you'll regret it even more after seeing it. When you enter the door, you'll have an explanation to show you around a few ancient bathing pools. Ordinary people can't see anything special. The explanation said that the one of Yang Guifei and the emperor was made of jade, and it lost its value after being polished, so people look at it like an ordinary stone. I think it's an ordinary hot spring pool 😂 It's mainly about the story behind it, but I think you can learn about it online and look at pictures online. It's really unnecessary to spend this money, and it's even more so in the peak season. You have to queue up to get in and out, which is really a torture. I grew up in the mountains since I was a child, and I've seen the mountains and waters of Guilin, and climbed Mount Emei. I was afraid that I didn't have enough time to go to the Terracotta Warriors, so I didn't go to Mount Li. The ticket for Huaqing Palace already includes the ticket price for climbing Mount Li, and the one-way cable car costs another 20 yuan.
Huaqing Palace, backed by mountains, is indeed a great place for leisure and recuperation. The ancient emperors really knew how to enjoy themselves!
The fruit trees in the garden are lush and full of fruits.
There are not many tourists, and the atmosphere is quiet, with pavilions, waterside terraces, weeping willows and green waves.
The Huaqing Palace scenic area also has the former sites of a series of Xi'an Incidents, such as Zhang Xueliang's capture of Jiang Ting. The pavilion is halfway up the mountain. The tour guide asked us if we wanted to climb up and take a look. It was cloudy at the time and it seemed like it was going to rain soon. We didn't bring an umbrella, so we refused.
Actually, I think it’s because we are lazy.
The entire Huaqing Palace tour was over in just an hour.
From my Xi'an travel notes "A thousand years of Chang'an dream ❤ Feasting in Xi'an (food and scenery - Internet celebrity new authentic traditional popular food, Xi'an first snow New Year's Eve beautiful scenery travel photography)" http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/11626046.html
The first snow gradually melted in the afternoon, and a light frost condensed on the branches. The frozen lotus on the lake was as flawless as white jade. The fish in the lake were too lazy to move, and lay quietly under the lake, twisting their tails from time to time. You looked at the horizon with a smile on your face.
You walk through the pavilions, your trailing red skirt is reflected on the frozen lake, you look at the water lilies nearby and the people in the distance with sleepy eyes.
I stretch out my hands, the cool snowflakes falling gently in my palms, is it your greetings from afar, or the shyness of ice crystals blooming on the branches, picking up the cool breeze and falling on the corridor.
Huaqing Pool is located at the foot of Mount Li. It is a hot spring bathhouse with a very old history. Emperors began to bathe here during the winter in the Western Zhou Dynasty. It was at its peak during the Tang Dynasty. The three pools used for viewing are the pools of Li Shimin, Li Longji and Yang Yuhuan.
The jade statue of Yang Yuhuan that you see when you first enter the door is a modern creation, and you can only appreciate the view of the imperial concubine taking a bath.
The pool used exclusively by Yang Guifei is made of Lantian jade raw stone. The pool behind is also made of the same material, which is quite rich and appears in the shape of a lotus.
Li Longji's private pool. At first I was wondering why the couple didn't bathe together. It was just because men were superior to women in ancient times. So even Yang Guifei, who was loved by everyone, could not bathe with the emperor. So the emperor built a small pavilion for her to blow dry her hair, and dry her hair outdoors when it was very cold in winter. I don't know what he was thinking.
Li Shimin's private pool is also the largest pool, and it also has a surfing massage function, which is amazing. Li Shimin also built a sauna room next to his pool. The hot spring water used for bathing would flow to this side hall, so that he would not get cold when changing clothes, which was particularly enjoyable. Moreover, the bath water used by the emperor would flow into a small pool for the cooks in the imperial kitchen and the attendants around him to wash, to show the emperor's great grace.
There are only a few main places to visit in Huaqing Pool.
The combined ticket for Huaqing Hot Spring and Mount Li is 120 yuan, and the Terracotta Warriors is 120 yuan, both of which are half-price for students. My personal suggestion is to ask the scenic guide to explain the history, otherwise the whole process will seem boring, because there are not as many text introductions as in the urban attractions. In order to see it interestingly, you still have to ask the guide to explain the whole scenic area for 90 yuan. You can ask her to help you join a group to reduce the cost, which is very humane.
Next to the Hall of Eternal Life is the platform where Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei swore an oath together, and the tree there is the Lianlishu.
The trees are hung with red ribbons and wooden plaques expressing people's blessings and hopes.
Yang Guifei's Begonia Soup. It happened to be the time when the scenic spot was under renovation, there were scaffoldings everywhere, and there was a strong smell of paint, the experience was not very good.
There were also Prince Soup, Star Soup, etc., but I didn’t take any photos as they were all pretty much the same pools.
The extravagance of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty can be glimpsed from the remains of Huaqing Pool. The extravagant and extravagant emperor's life finally caused "the drums of Yuyang shook the earth, and the song of colorful clothes and feathered robes was broken". Speaking of Huaqing Pool, it is really an ominous place. Many major events of the change of dynasties took place again and again at the foot of Mount Li. Compared with Huaqing Pool five years ago, it has changed a lot. Not only is the facade much more magnificent, but now Yang Guifei is not allowed to be touched, and tourists are not allowed to touch the hot springs in the back. Tourists and history are far away separated by fences.
Huaqing Pool was built beside Mount Li. As it is a cultural attraction, it is recommended to find an interpreter so that you can fully enjoy the scenic spot. You can no longer see the magnificence of Huaqing Pool now, because Huaqing Pool is really just a small pool, and you can't find any precious gems in it, but through the Hibiscus Garden, Hibiscus Jade and Hibiscus Soup, you can still feel Li Longji's love for Yang Guifei, because Yang Yuhuan's nickname is Furong. Between the construction of pavilions and towers, you can also feel the deep feelings between the emperor and the concubine. No matter what the ending of the two was, this love really existed.
The biggest attraction here is the hot spring pool. The tour guide said that the buildings here were imitated later.
The imperial concubine has a good figure, half covered with a bath veil, her feet stepping on the warm and slippery Lishan hot spring water. It is hard to guess whether she is taking a bath or coming out of it.
One bad thing about the group tour was that the tour guide didn't take us to see Huaqing Hot Spring, Jiulong Lake, and Wujian Hall.
Since part of Huaqing Pool is under repair, the overall look is not very good, and "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" will stop performing from November to March next year. However, the free movie in Huaqing Pool is worth recommending. It tells the love story of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei. It is divided into 4 themes, each of which is shown on a different floor. After watching a theme, the staff will lead us to the upper floor theater to watch. I was moved by their story and almost cried. Chang Xiangsi, Yi Chang'an, they were once happy in Chang'an, and cheer for their love.
My friend and I came from Mount Li, exhausted from the journey. As soon as we entered Huaqing Palace, we were amazed by the ginkgo forest in front of us. This road down the mountain is extremely beautiful, with ginkgo trees planted on both sides of the road, tall and straight, with just the right amount of yellow leaves. Looking around, the ancient buildings emerged among the leaves, which was beautiful. The golden trees on the roadside were beautiful beyond compare.
The colors of the ginkgo trees are heart-warming, and they get better with the coming of autumn. Even on cloudy days, the Huaqing Palace is glittering with golden light, and the pavilions are shining. In the background is the verdant Mount Li, and the golden leaves hang from the treetops and intersect with the sky, sometimes flying in the air, and finally falling to the ground, and the thick fallen leaves form a golden carpet.
Passing by a Tang market, red lanterns were hung high on the treetops, creating a lively scene. Couples and students wrote their wishes and secrets on red ribbons and wooden plaques and tied them to the treetops, either praying or blessing.
Walking around Huaqing Palace, you will see pavilions and towers arranged in an orderly manner, winding towards Mount Li. There is also a cultural area with the theme of Liyuan in Huaqing Palace, which displays a large number of cultural relics and historical materials related to instrumental music.
The beauty of Huaqing Palace needs to be savored carefully, the beauty of nature, the beauty of architecture, the beauty of humanity, and the appreciation of history and legends, to be fully enjoyed. A cursory visit will only make you miss out on the beauty.

It is built on the mountain with its back facing the Wei River and leaning against the Lifeng Mountain. It is large in scale and magnificent in architecture. Its pavilions and halls are scattered all over the Lishan Mountain. It was originally named "Tangquan Palace" and later renamed Wenquan Palace. It is divided into Huaqing Pool and Mount Li. Because we had limited time and the intensity was a bit high, we only visited Huaqing Pool and did not climb the mountain. Everyone knows that Huaqing Pool is where Yang Guifei took a bath, and the hot spring water is very high quality. But if you haven't been here, you may not know how particular the division of the pools here is, which well reflects the hierarchy of feudal society. I didn't know before that Huaqing Pool was also the site of the famous "Xi'an Incident". Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng placed Chiang Kai-shek under house arrest here. Some of the venues at that time have been renovated, and there are some old photos for tourists to compare.
Walk to the train station square and take the white bus No. 5 (Route 306). This is a state-owned bus. Remember that many people at the train station will ask you if you are going to the Terracotta Warriors in Huaqing Palace, and also say it is No. 5. Ignore them and go directly to the square to take the bus. The state-owned bus is high-speed all the way and arrives in 30 minutes. It is recommended to go to Huaqing Palace first and then go to the Terracotta Warriors. The train attendant also suggested this! The performance of Song of Everlasting Regret will be stopped after October 27, but you can go to the Hall of Eternal Life to watch the film and feel the love story of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei. It's free!

On the way to the Terracotta Warriors, you will always pass by Huaqing Palace. If you are very interested in the story of Li Longji and Yang Yuhuan, Huaqing Palace is still worth a visit, after all, it is one of the four major royal gardens in China. But if you visit Huaqing Palace and the Terracotta Warriors together, I am afraid that you will not have enough time, and it will really be like spending 120 to see a bathing pool. The ticket for Huaqing Palace includes Mount Li. If you don't visit them together, it's not worth the ticket money.

It was originally named "Tangquan Palace" and later renamed Wenquan Palace. Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty renamed it Huaqing Palace. Because it is located in Mount Li, it is also called Lishan Palace, Li Palace, and Xiuling Palace. Huaqing Palace was first built in the early Tang Dynasty and reached its peak after Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty came to power. Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty carefully managed and built such a grand palace. He visited it almost every October. He returned to Chang'an at the end of the year. After the An-Shi Rebellion, the political situation suddenly changed, and the popularity of Huaqing Palace declined rapidly. Emperors of all dynasties after the Tang Dynasty rarely visited Huaqing Palace. After that, the royal family of each dynasty repaired it. Before liberation, the hot springs were deserted and the palaces were sparse. After liberation, the People's Government of Huaqing Pool has carried out large-scale expansion since 1959.
We came here mainly for history lessons, but also watched the 4D show of "Xi'an Incident", which was a perfect combination of historical plot and modern technology, and is worth recommending.
Starting from downtown Xi'an, you can take a one-day tour to the Terracotta Warriors and Huaqing Hot Spring. Huaqing Palace is mainly divided into two parts: one is the site of the Xi'an Incident, and the other is the imperial palace of the Tang Dynasty, which has various pools.
I like this place very much. After all, there are several royal baths of the Tang Dynasty there, which is enough to imagine the bathing scenes of Emperor Taizong, Emperor Gaozong, Emperor Minghuang, Yang Yuhuan, etc. The small courtyard of the Xi'an Incident is also quite interesting. Climbing the mountain doesn't seem to be very interesting.
Huaqing Palace is probably the worst attraction in this trip. The buildings were all newly built after the liberation, and it is a completely modern new attraction. The ticket price is 120 yuan, which I think is only worth 20 yuan. The hot spring is a real hot spring, but it costs 50 yuan to soak your feet, and it is in a public pool. There are a lot of tour guides soliciting customers at the gate and in the scenic area. I originally came here to experience the sad love story of Yang Guifei and Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and the thrilling scenes of the Xi'an Incident, but the reality is that the entire scenic area is full of commercial atmosphere, and the air exudes a smell of money. I will never come again and I don't recommend it.
The tickets for Huaqing Palace and Mount Li are sold together. Huaqing Palace is worth a visit. It is a royal bathing resort and the site of the Xi'an Incident. The tour ended at Bingjian Pavilion. We did not continue to climb Mount Li. There are only Laomu Temple and Beacon Tower on the mountain. If you want to go to Mount Li, it is best to take a cable car. It is not worth walking up the mountain for about 2 hours. The performance of the Changhen Song and Dance Drama is good, but the performances are all at night.
We signed up for a one-day tour with a group of twelve people, but ended up with only five of us. We went to Huaqing Palace in the morning and to the Terracotta Warriors in the afternoon.
I thought there would be fewer people on weekdays, but there were many elementary school students. The tour guide mainly introduced several hot springs and the Xi'an Incident, and then asked if we wanted to go to the top of Mount Li. The cable car can go directly to the top of the mountain, round trip 60 yuan, we took the battery car to the middle of the mountain, round trip 20 yuan, went up and looked at the Bingjian Pavilion, did not climb up, the tour guide only gave 40 minutes.
In general, there are still quite a lot of people, the tickets are still quite expensive, and there is less time to take pictures with the tour guide, but it is still necessary to listen to the explanation.
Mount Li is an extinct volcano, where hot lava and groundwater form hot springs. There are 2,700 hot springs in the world, but Huaqing ranks first. There were too many people in May, and every pool was packed with people.
We came mainly for the Xi'an Incident. The performance of the Xi'an Incident lasts for one hour. At the beginning, the audience will parade with the actors. After taking their seats, they will enter the story of the Xi'an Incident, from strong remonstration to kneeling remonstration to military remonstration. The psychological activities, stage settings, and lighting effects are all very vivid.
If you haven't been to Huaqing Pool, you can come and take a look. If there is no guide, there are a few pools and climb the mountain. If you come with a group, although the tour guide will explain to you, he will also ask you to pay extra for the second ticket! ! Xi'an Incident! 169 per person, the lighting and stage effects are good, but overall it is not worth it. Before entering, I thought there was an underground city to wander around, but it was actually a stage performance, telling the process of the Xi'an Incident. Next is to go up to Mount Li, the battery car is 20 yuan per person, and after going up the mountain, you have to climb a section to reach the Bingjian Pavilion, just climb the mountain and walk through the park to see the scenery. You can climb up if you want to travel by yourself. I heard that there is a temple for praying for children on the top that is very effective.
Soak in hot springs, watch the Song of Everlasting Regret and Xi'an Incident performances, very good
The focus is on history and culture, with many stories, but the scenery is average. It mainly includes several ponds, the site of the Xi'an Incident, and the Old Mother Temple on the mountain.
I also suggest going at night when there are performances. During the day, just go like that, haha.
It's average, nothing fancy. There's just a former site of Chiang Kai-shek and a pool where Yang Guifei took a bath.
Although I bought the ticket for "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" and could enter at 7:20, someone pulled a rope to isolate me from visiting Huaqing Palace.
A great place, I learned a lot of interesting stories from the tour guide
I've been there many times. It's very beautiful. The cats inside are too fat.
I spent 120 yuan to go to Lao Li's bathhouse and took a look around.
They are all new buildings, and there is not much left from the past, such as pools, water holes, etc. Going there is like visiting a park.
The dry pool, I don't know if it was the place where the imperial concubine bathed in the past. I feel that the 5a scenic spot is very ordinary. It relies on history to go out
We arrived too early and the temple was not open yet. The scenic spot was great. Mount Li is right next to it. Mount Li is a place with a lot of stories. However, we didn't have enough time to visit the Terracotta Warriors, so we went down the mountain before finishing climbing Mount Li. I suggest you take the cable car.
Also known as the "Huaqing Pool", it includes the former Lishan National Forest Park and is known as one of the four major royal gardens in China along with the Summer Palace, the Old Summer Palace, and the Chengde Mountain Resort.
The Tang Huaqing Palace, later also known as the "Huaqing Pool", includes the former Lishan National Forest Park and is known as one of the four major royal gardens in China, along with the Summer Palace, the Old Summer Palace, and the Chengde Mountain Resort. Huaqing Palace was a palace for the feudal emperors of the Tang Dynasty. It is located in Lintong District, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, and is a landmark scenic spot for Chinese Tang Palace cultural tourism.
If I remember correctly, Huaqing Palace was where the emperor and his concubines took baths.
This is also the most famous ancient bathing place. Let’s go and have a look.
To be honest, I came here mainly to see the Xi'an Incident, and there was nothing interesting about Yang Guifei's several bathhouses.
It feels like visiting an ancient hot spring museum. You can go climb Mount Li.
Yes, but we didn't have enough time to go up the mountain. The light show at the foot of the mountain is ok, and there are also performances.
That year, snowflakes fell and plum blossoms bloomed on the branches, and that year, too much sorrow was left by the Huaqing Pool!
The scenery is nice and suitable for in-depth travel. If you stay in the hotel, you can also enjoy the Lishan Hot Spring!
Huaqing Palace: Recommendation index: 4 stars
Recommended time: 2-3 hours
Now because Huaqing Palace and Mount Li are combined into one, the tickets can be used twice, once for going up the mountain and once for going down. We walked around the mountain and then took the cable car up the mountain. The one-way cable car ticket was 25 yuan per person. I forgot what it was, because only cash is accepted for payment, so I didn't keep a record. If you buy a round-trip cable car ticket, you can't go back to Huaqing Hot Spring, so I thought of two options:
1. Like us, you can visit half of Huaqing Hot Spring with the first ticket, then go out from the side door to buy a one-way cable car to the mountain, then swipe the second ticket. After visiting the mountain, you can go down the mountain directly from the stairs, but it is really tiring! There are so many steps that it feels like you will never reach the end.
2. First, go directly to buy a round-trip ticket for the cable car to go up the mountain. After touring the mountain, swipe the first ticket, then take the cable car down the mountain and swipe the second ticket to visit Huaqing Palace.
ps: I have to say here that it is really recommended not to go to Mount Li in winter... It can be said to be a barren mountain... We spent 100 yuan to take a tour bus, otherwise we would be even more tired, and it would still be exhausting to walk down the stairs! In fact, I saw in a guide that it is not recommended to go up the mountain in winter, but I still didn't give up, and I collapsed when I went up. In addition to the two temples, you have to climb the mountain to get to the beacon tower, which is impossible to climb. It is said that you can go up the mountain by horseback, and it costs 60 yuan per person, but I won’t say whether it is dangerous or not. There is only one beacon tower on the mountain, and the story of King You of Zhou playing with the princes with beacon fire is here. Xi'an is also a severely affected area of smog. There are only a few days without smog. There was smog every day when we went there... You can't see anything on the mountain at all...
The ticket office at the entrance of Huaqing Palace offers a private car for 80 yuan to tour the mountain and then take you to the bottom of the mountain and then visit Huaqing Palace. I really regret that I didn't take a private car. Although it is not very safe, it is much cheaper than taking the cable car and the sightseeing bus........
By the way, each scenic spot has an official private guide. If you are interested, you can hire one. The guide is pretty good, but I didn’t hire one, so I don’t know the price and can’t give you a reference.
In fact, it is necessary to hire a tour guide in Huaqing Palace, because there are too many historical sites to visit and it is very informative to listen to them. After all, the famous Xi'an Incident also took place here. There are still bullet holes from the Xi'an Incident, but I didn't find them because I was too tired.
1. It includes the ticket to Mount Li, which has more than just a few large pools. Don't think the ticket is expensive if you don't go.
2. It is recommended to watch the performance of Song of Everlasting Regret, which will be discontinued after October.
3. It is recommended to soak in hot springs and soak in the royal aura.
There are indeed very few people in the scenic area in winter.
It is best to find a tour guide to explain to you when visiting the scenic area. Otherwise, there is nothing to see if you just visit and don’t understand the historical allusions. There are many people who come up to you at the gate and ask if you need a tour guide to explain. You can ask one. There are official scenic area tours and unofficial ones. This time I found an unofficial tour guide. The fee for one tour is 90 yuan. You can find 2-3 other people to join together. Otherwise, 90 yuan per person is really too expensive. The tour guide is only responsible for explaining the hot springs where Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei bathed and where Chiang Kai-shek lived during the "Xi'an Incident". The tour guide does not go to the beacon tower on the mountain, so everyone needs to know. There is no difference between the off-season and peak season for general tickets for Huaqing Palace.
At the entrance, a tour guide will come up to you and ask if you need an explanation. Just like the Terracotta Warriors, it costs 90 yuan for a small group of 1 to 5 people. I personally think the explanation is quite good, except that there are some sales pitches in the middle, but later I found that every attraction has them... I guess this is the trend here.
The most famous thing about Huaqing Pool is actually the nighttime water show of "Song of Everlasting Sorrow", but it is only available in October, so I missed it this time. The ticket for Huaqing Palace includes Huaqing Pool and Mount Li, and you can take a cable car up there. There are the Bingjian Pavilion and the remains of the beacon fire drama, etc., but I didn't go up there because I wasn't very interested.
Many people say that the reason to visit Huaqing Hot Spring is to see two bathing pools, which is true. One is the Imperial Concubine Pool of Yang Guifei, and the other is the pool of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang. If there is no explanation, we may just look at it and forget about it. If there is an explanation, we can also be told why the pool is in this shape, the direction of the water flow, the pillars, etc. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to ask for an explanation when visiting Huaqing Hot Spring, otherwise what you see is really just a bathing pool.
At the foot of Mount Li, you can also experience hot springs at the sites of the Xi'an Incident, including the royal hot spring ruins of the Tang Dynasty and the Five-Room Hall.
For details, please see the travel notes: [Travel to the Ancient Capital] Encountering 8,000 handsome men and one beautiful woman - Terracotta Warriors and Horses on the Eastern Front of Xi'an and Huaqing Palace~
When visiting Huaqing Pool, I signed up for a one-day tour on China-TravelNote, which included a one-day tour of the Terracotta Warriors. Because it was cold in winter, "The Song of Everlasting Sorrow" was not performed, so the tour guide recommended "The Empress of the Tang Dynasty". The ticket was 200 yuan, which was OK! When visiting Huaqing Pool, the tour guide will recommend a mountain tour of the Xi'an Incident in advance. Although it only costs 20 yuan, I personally don't recommend it. There is nothing!
After descending Mount Li, we walked to Huaqing Palace. I didn't have a good look around here because I was in a hurry, but there was still a surprise. These hand-painted figures on the trees were cute, elegant, and the details were so outstanding. I regretted not having a good look at them.
The tourist feature navigation service is good👍convenient, fast, easy to understand, worthy of praise👍🌺
I don't think it's worth it. The tickets are a bit expensive, but because it's snowing, the combination of the palace and the snowflakes makes the photos look very artistic.
Huaqing Palace, the imperial palace of the Tang Dynasty, is also known as Huaqing Pool. It is famous for the love between Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei. It is located in Lintong District, Xi'an. Friends who have been there told me that Huaqing Palace is not very good, but the performance of "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" at night is good. Unfortunately, we went at the wrong time. The performance time seems to be only from April to October (you need to check the specific time, the ticket price is about 300 yuan). I just visited Huaqing Palace and the Xi'an Incident Site in Mount Li behind it. The ticket price is 120 yuan. I personally think it is really not worth it! It is just some modern antique buildings, quite ordinary, and the only value may be the story behind them. A few words
1. The Terracotta Warriors and Huaqing Palace are on the same line. It is appropriate to visit the two attractions together. The daytime is about the same. We took a tourist bus at the train station. There were not many people on New Year's Day. One seat per person, the ticket price was 7 yuan. The ticket seller will give you a general introduction to the two scenic spots and how to take the bus. I like this! In addition, there were people trying to get people to take the bus along the way. In order to avoid being cheated, it is better to take the bus at the designated location.
2. There is a 6D show, which is about the love story of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei. It is said that it cost a huge amount of money to create. In fact, the hall is very small and very simple. It can accommodate 30 to 40 people at most. It is free and you can watch it. The ticket seller on the bus will introduce it to you.
3. There are many tour guides at the entrance, you can join forces, each tour guide seems to cost one hundred yuan, but I personally don't think it's necessary. I bought the Huaqing Palace tour guide on Ctrip for two yuan, and there is a recording for each scenic spot, which is still quite cost-effective.
4. Be careful when visiting. Many inconspicuous places, such as a small depression, may be where Yang Guifei took a bath.
In short, although I was mentally prepared, I was still disappointed. However, everyone who goes to Xi'an will check in here, after all, it is a landmark attraction.
Huaqing Palace is said to be the place where Yang Guifei bathed. We didn't hire a tour guide to explain the place. It was just like visiting an ordinary garden. Even if there were a few pools, they were dry. Who could tell if it was where anyone bathed in the past?
There are relatively complete cultural relics resources such as cultural sites, garden landscapes, ancient buildings, ancient trees and famous trees from the Zhou, Qin, Han, Tang, Ming and Qing dynasties.
You can ignore Huaqing Palace, but the Song of Everlasting Regret performed here at night is a must-see. You don’t need to buy separate tickets for Huaqing Palace.
After a tour, I got a rich history lesson!!!
The pool where the imperial concubine took a bath, the scenery of Huaqing Palace is still very good, and there is also the Bingjian Pavilion
This was once the most grand hot spring palace complex in ancient China. It was built in the Tang Dynasty and also destroyed in the Tang Dynasty. Its current appearance was rebuilt after the founding of the People's Republic of China and is a modern replica.
In theory, each hot spring pool should correspond to the stars in the sky. For example, the earliest one owned by Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, corresponds to the Purple Star. The water in the hot spring pools is also connected through waterways, which shows the quality of life of the royal family at that time.
This is also where the love story of Yang Yuhuan and her husband was born, and Mr. Bai Juyi wrote a famous "Song of Everlasting Sorrow". In modern times, as long as the weather is not too cold, there will be two open-air stage plays of the same name adapted from this ancient story in the evening. The whole play lasts more than an hour and is full of interesting moments. It is highly recommended!
