Huashan

Huashan is one of the famous Five Mountains in China and is known as the "most dangerous mountain in the world". It mainly includes Huashan Road and five main peaks in the east, south, west, north and center.
There are more than 210 famous scenic spots in Huashan, including Changkong Plank Road, Yaozi Flipping, Qianchi Chuang, etc. Among them, Huayue Fairy Palm is listed as the first of the Eight Scenic Spots in Guanzhong.
In addition, Huashan has 72 semi-hanging caves and more than 20 Taoist temples, among which Yuquanyuan and Dulong Temple are listed as national key Taoist temples.
At the same time, this is also one of the nine places for watching the sunrise in China. The Chaoyang Terrace on the East Peak is the best place to watch the sunrise.

A trip decided on at the last minute, led by tour guide Ma Xiaopang, we chose the route from west to north, and gathered at the Xihuamen Fire Station at 6:30 to set off. This route is more scientific, and you can reach all 5 peaks if you go a little faster. The scenery is nice, and most of it is downhill, which is much more labor-saving than the route to the north. Don't bring too much food and drink, after all, you have to climb the mountain. Two bottles of water and a piece of bread per person are enough, so you can save your stomach for delicious snacks after returning to the city. Guide Ma's service is super good, the explanation is in place, the safety tips are thoughtful, and he also recommended must-eat delicacies for foodies. We went to Wang Kui Lazhi Roujiamo that day, which was really delicious, and the ones in Huimin Street can't be compared. The driver of 6619 drove very steadily, and it was a satisfactory trip

I got up in the morning and packed my luggage. It was already past 10 o'clock when I set out. I was not in a hurry. I wanted to spend the whole day in Huashan, so I just strolled around and enjoyed the sunny day.

My trip this time was from the west to the north. I took the West Peak cable car up the mountain, walked around the top of the mountain, and took the cable car down from the North Peak. Practice has proved that time is still a bit tight. It takes half an hour to take a bus from the West Gate to the mountain. It takes another 15 minutes from the mountain gate to the cable car gate. It was a weekday, and I still had to wait in line for the cable car for 30 minutes. If I really went on Saturday, I don’t know how long it would take.

Once we got up the mountain, the temperature changed immediately and I regretted wearing only short sleeves. Fortunately, there was sunshine, otherwise it would have been really cold.

There are two projects I want to play in Huashan, one is the long sky plank road, and the other is the kite flip. As a result, the long sky plank road was under maintenance, and the kite flip was not enough time.... The long sky plank road can be seen from the side, and it looks a bit scary from a distance. If you want to take pictures, there is a photo editing service at the door. From the East Peak to the North Peak, it is all stairs.

Basically, everyone climbs at night, so we did something different. We started climbing early in the morning. We bought labor protection gloves from an old lady at the entrance. They played a huge role when we climbed the mountain. Be sure to wear gloves! Many steps require you to hold on to iron chains.

Huashan is open 24 hours a day, and there are many people climbing at night. The ticket price is very reasonable among many mountains, 180 yuan half price 90 plus 10 yuan insurance. Take a ticket at the entrance, the hiking trail officially begins, come on.

At the beginning, there were basically no steps in front, all were gentle slopes upwards, but it was still very tiring to walk on.

Wuli Pass is the first node you will see after entering the scenic area, also known as the first pass.

I started to see small shops one after another, and they were uniformly marked with numbers. In fact, it is completely OK to buy water in the scenic area. The price is very reasonable. The price increases with the higher the altitude.

The signboards at Huashan are the best I have ever seen in so many scenic spots. The information is so powerful and detailed that you can see your location at a glance and even know how many steps there are. Awesome.

I was afraid that I would not have enough energy later, so I put Huashan on the top... After all, it is one of the Five Sacred Mountains (Mount Tai, the Eastern Peak, 1532.7 meters above sea level; Mount Hua, the Western Peak, 2154.9 meters above sea level; Mount Heng, the Southern Peak, 1300.2 meters above sea level; Mount Heng, the Northern Peak, 2016.1 meters above sea level; and Mount Song, the Central Peak, 1491.71 meters above sea level). Note: Don't go to Huashan on the first day! ! ! ! It will be very painful later...

When I read the guide, everyone bought tickets and took a free bus to a park - the entrance of Yuquanyuan, and then started climbing.

I took a taxi from Xiangzi Temple to Xi'an North Station (RMB36). I saw a sprinkler truck on the way and said no wonder Xi'an is so clean. The driver said that last year the smog was so severe that all subways and major construction projects were stopped. I took the train to Huashan North Station (RMB54.5). There are free buses at the entrance of Huashan North Station. There is a bus that costs 10 yuan per person. The taxi for two of us is also RMB20. There are gloves for sale at the exit of the station for 2, 3, and 5 yuan. I was disdainful at first, but later when my legs were shaking and the iron chain was cold, it really felt like a family member...

The driver said that it would be best to take the cable car (RMB 220 round trip) to the west and north in one day, and take the bus to the middle of the mountain (RMB 60 round trip). The ticket price is 100/person in the off-season from January to March, and 180/person in the peak season from March to December. The driver said that it would take at least 6 hours to get down. Haha, it took us 8 hours. We cried...

There are at least five "Huashan Sword Contest" stone tablets on the five peaks. I also had the same feeling. When I came down from the South Peak, I passed by an aerial plank road. I didn't have the courage to do so. I stood there shaking so badly that I could only take a photo and return. There are many cats on the mountain. I heard that they will eat anything, but they wouldn't eat the mustard peanuts we brought...

I heard that everyone should drink at least three bottles of water. Maybe because it was cold, we each had a bottle and we didn't finish it. It's cold up there, so we should keep warm.

The snow on Mount Chuhua has not melted yet.

It is quite convenient to get to Huashan from Xi'an. The most convenient and time-saving is the high-speed rail. Xi'an North-Huashan North second-class seat is 59.5 yuan. There are several trains departing from Xi'an North Station to Huashan North every day. After exiting Huashan North Station, there is Bus No. 1 (free) that goes directly to the Visitor Center at the foot of Huashan. The whole journey takes about 20 minutes. If you don't choose the bus, you can also share a car, which costs 20 yuan per car (without meter). In fact, from Huashan North Station to Huashan Visitor Center, the whole journey is about 5 kilometers! Climbing Huashan is really tiring, especially to walk through the five peaks in one day. I took the West Peak Cableway and visited the West Peak (best for watching the sunset)--South Peak (Long Sky Plank Road)--East Peak (Kite Turning Over, Best for Watching the Sunrise)--Middle Peak--North Peak in turn, and then took the North Peak Cableway down. The whole journey takes 6-7 hours. The next day, my legs were not my own~

The writing is not very good.

A brief guide to climbing Mount Huashan.

My personal suggestion is that those who like to watch the sunrise and the sea of clouds can choose to climb at night. If you are physically strong, it is estimated that you can reach the West Peak in five hours. The play time is not included. There are two more exciting projects inside, namely the kite flip and the long sky plank road. You need to queue up and the flow is limited. The number of people is limited each time.

The scenery of Mount Huashan is indeed unique and deserves high praise (I have been there enough to get it).

If you don't want to watch the sunrise, you can choose to hike up the mountain and take the West Peak cable car down the mountain. This is the most ideal way and you can see all the scenery.

A few points to note are:

1. For tickets booked online, all tickets need to be picked up at the visitor center (including cableway, mountain entrance tickets, and cableway bus).

2. The distance between the trailhead and the visitor center is 2.7 kilometers, and there are free buses back and forth.

3. Remember to eat breakfast before going up the mountain.

You can buy the tickets to the mountain through the pictures I provided. This is their official ticket. You can directly enter the mountain by swiping your ID card.

The cable car route I booked was from the west up to the north down, mainly because it was a route that went all the way down from Huashan’s West Peak to the North Peak, which would save some effort… But from the perspective of someone who has experienced it, this decision was obviously a result of lack of experience…

At the first step of climbing Huashan, you will see a big sign with a warm reminder: Don’t look at the scenery while walking, and don’t walk while looking at the scenery! In the words of the tour guide, it means: Don’t play with your phone while climbing, and don’t climb the mountain while playing with your phone! If you insist on playing with your phone while climbing, haha... the picture is too beautiful... use your imagination!

The cableway entrance of Huashan West Line is located at a high position. You have to climb a very high flight of stairs before entering the cableway entrance. You can also take the side slide up, which costs 30 yuan per person.

The Xili cable car is a long and steep route. Enter the cable car and start a thrilling journey lasting more than 20 minutes...

I looked at the route map given by the tour guide, calculated the time the tour guide gave us to climb the mountain, and combined it with my own climbing speed... After I climbed all five main peaks of Huashan, I was afraid that I would not be able to descend the mountain until tomorrow... This is not okay! Tomorrow there is another schedule tomorrow! Feeling the gusts of white snow blowing down with strong winds (straight into my neck), I resolutely decided to give up climbing the five peaks. I would go down from where I was standing, directly to the North Peak, and take the cable car down the mountain. You can laugh at me, but the facts prove that my decision was wise.

Going down the steep stairs constantly makes my knees really uncomfortable! The route from west to north is actually not scientific. It seems easy to go down all the way, but in fact, it hurts your knees in the process of going down the mountain! As the saying goes: going up the mountain is easy, but going down the mountain is difficult! If you are traveling by yourself, I still recommend that you choose the route from north to west!!!

The north slope is mostly in the shade, and there is a lot of ice on the stone steps that has not melted, so it is very slippery! ! You must go down step by step slowly! ! According to the staff on the mountain, in the time it takes him to finish smoking a cigarette, 3 people have already rolled down from here...

Suggestion: Consider whether you have enough physical strength

The whole climb took me 6 hours, which is relatively fast. You should reserve enough time. This time I chose to hike up the North Peak and then take the cable car down the mountain. It gets steeper and steeper... You will pass the Thousand-foot Hill and the Hundred-foot Hill, which are really frustrating. They are connected together, so you think you have finally climbed over it, but then you find out "Why is there more?" You must have a partner with a strong stamina when climbing a mountain, otherwise it will be too easy to give up. If I come again in the future, I guess I will only want to take the cable car up and then take the cable car down. It's too tiring. Because I was so tired, I didn't go to the East Peak and the South Peak.

ps. It is best to exercise before climbing Huashan. I think the reason why my legs were not sore at all the next day after climbing Huashan for so long was because I had been running before.

It was already noon when we arrived at the scenic spot, so we had to prepare enough food, preferably something that could heat up, be easy to eat, and be solid. The physical exertion from climbing the mountain was really severe.

There are free buses in the scenic area. Climbing is no joke. When you reach a high altitude, the temperature drops sharply in minutes. I learned from the experience of getting a fever on the top of Mount Emei four years ago. This time, I took sufficient warm-keeping measures. Clothes, hats and Sister Yang's loving gloves were fully prepared. Sister Yang also reminded me to wear quick-drying warm clothes, which was really very useful later.) Maybe it was the off-season and we went up the mountain late, so we didn't see many people along the way. I joked that I had contracted the whole mountain. As soon as I came, I felt the difficulty of climbing. The road was steep and narrow, and the north wind blew from time to time. It was silent everywhere. If you focus all your attention on climbing the mountain, the road will seem particularly far away. I couldn't stand it after climbing for twenty minutes. I ate some snacks on the side of the road and walked a long way without realizing it. I was panting and sweating profusely, but I only walked the flattest section of the road. I was really upset. (And the scariest thing is that you will sweat as you walk on the mountain, and once you stop, it will be super cold. This is a process for us to adapt to the weather.) However, it is too cowardly to go down the mountain now. We can only look at the towering cliffs. The two looked at each other, gritted their teeth and continued to walk. In this quiet valley, we walked and stopped until five o'clock in the afternoon. We were hungry and the cold wind was blowing. The conditions were really difficult.) In this cold winter day, there was no one in the valley, and there were steep cliffs in front of us, but we couldn't stay for a long time, because once we stopped, the sweat on our bodies would be penetrated by the wind and it would be easy to catch a cold. During the climbing process, we didn't dare to look down at all. As long as we let go, we would fall down completely. I finally understood why Huashan is so dangerous. It was getting darker and darker, and it was night before we knew it. We started the night climbing mode. We were very excited to see small flying snow under the small lights on the roadside. We didn't realize that there would be a bigger surprise to greet us tomorrow. (After it got dark, we climbed for at least 2 hours. These 2 hours seem like an understatement now, but they were a real torture for Sister Yang and Brother Long at the time. The weather was getting colder and colder, and the road ahead was pitch black. After 6 hours of climbing, our bodies were almost at their limit, and we didn’t know how long it would take to reach the destination. We didn’t see the sunrise we were looking forward to, but unexpectedly saw heavy snow. Huashan was already covered in snow, and the guards were helping us sweep the snow off the ground, fearing that we would slip. Thank them so much.

Hiking equipment: gloves (must be prepared), hat, food (the closer to the peak, the better the price), sun protection sleeves, trekking poles, sunscreen, mosquito repellent spray...

For our tour of Huashan, we chose to go up the North Peak and down the West Peak, because this route was not that difficult for us. We started climbing at 10 am and ended at 5 pm. It took us 7 hours and many twists and turns before we finally reached the West Peak. We could finally take the cable car down the mountain. There were a lot of insects on the small hills and paths, and I was very afraid that some would fall on me. This was really a challenge for me, who is naturally afraid of insects.

Friends who want to walk on the Skywalk must go early. When we arrived around 4 pm, there was already a very long queue. Due to time constraints, we gave up walking on the Skywalk. It’s a pity. I hope we can make up for the regret next time we come!

Mount Huashan is really dangerous. Every time I walk onto a dangerous mountain road, I am really afraid that I might fall down if I lose my balance, and I am also afraid of getting others into trouble.

By soul |

First of all, let me talk about the strategy. If you are traveling on a budget, then stay at Baolianju International Youth Hostel for one night. This is a good place to meet up with friends for mountain climbing. You can make an appointment to climb the next morning or at night. You need to prepare things before climbing. First, buy a pair of gloves for 2 yuan, then go to the supermarket to buy 4-6 bottles of water, Snickers or chocolate, don't buy snacks and meat. Why? Because climbing is very physically demanding, and the blood goes to the limbs, and it is difficult to digest snacks and meat. So like me, 4 bottles of mineral water, 2 cans of Red Bull, and a bag of Snickers, the water is almost enough, and the food is enough and I am not hungry. You need to buy gloves, because some of the iron chains on both sides are rusty and some are cold. So you have to prepare, otherwise the water and gloves on the mountain are more expensive than those at the foot of the mountain. If you want to save money, prepare in advance. If you can climb the mountain without bringing anything, you can buy it on the mountain. It's also good to buy whatever you need at that time. What I want to say is that although it is expensive, you have to buy it when you need it, so as not to make people suffer. My friend and I walked to the left after leaving the inn and went up the mountain from the North Peak. There is a mutton soup on the left side of the inn, which is good. I recommend trying it because I have eaten there three times. Go up from the North Peak and walk slowly. It is uncomfortable in the early stage, but it will be fine after you pass it. If you want to know where you have climbed, check the mobile map, which will be very detailed.

Huashan in winter is the off-season. Once the bare mountain encounters heavy smog, the fairy air, the rolling clouds, and the most beautiful West Peak will all disappear. Huashan in winter is still magnificent, but it is far less beautiful than the autumn when you can take the cable car and be surrounded by fairy air, climb to the top of the mountain and watch the rolling clouds. It is recommended to go to Huashan in autumn when the weather is clear and cool! (The road surface of Huashan is not slippery in winter, so you don’t need professional non-slip shoes. In summer, you need to prepare sunglasses. We didn’t use sunglasses on the smoggy days when we came)

By Nine o'clock |

When you take the Xifeng cable car, you will come across a Taoist temple. The old Taoist priest inside is very kind. Since the day we arrived was the first day of the twelfth lunar month, the old Taoist priest asked me to worship the Emperor Xiyue and taught me the Taoist method of worshiping gods. If you are interested, you can go and have a look.

By the way, the gods in each Taoist temple on Mount Huashan are different. You can go and visit to learn more about them. Remember, if you don’t want to spend money, don’t burn incense. Just worship and give some incense money. The gods are in your heart.

The road from the Middle Peak to the North Peak is very dangerous, as it descends from an altitude of 2,000 meters to 1,600 meters. Your legs will almost break when you reach the North Peak, and your knees will shake when you straighten them. So if you have difficulty walking, do not choose the route from west to north. However, this is a rare opportunity, the air is fresh, the scenery is beautiful, and the scenery on the road is beautiful, so it is best not to miss it.

There are stone carvings of the Huashan Sword Contest on several peaks of Mount Huashan, all of which are Jin Yong's notes. There seem to be 5 such places in total. If you are interested, you can go and check them out.

In short, Huashan in winter is very interesting. I visited all five places, including the east, west, south, north and central peaks. It was worth the trip. I must go to Huashan once while my legs and feet are still strong.

Tips: It was my first time there, so I signed up for a one-day tour with China-TravelNote. There was no tour guide, so I had to play on my own the whole time. It was OK. The information about Huashan was very clear, so you can try it if you are going there for the first time. Huashan is located in Weinan City, outside Xi'an, so you need to check the transportation in advance, otherwise you may not be able to return. However, there are many cars and taxis at the foot of Huashan going back to Xi'an. The price should be quite high, so be careful.

By Ask for it |

There was snow on the mountain, and it melted in the morning, so it was very cold. When I reached the top of the North Peak, all I heard was Cantonese.

I climbed tenaciously over Canglong Ridge and then to the top of Middle Peak. I was about to collapse. It was snowing heavily in the afternoon, from dandruff to goose feather snow. I thought the plank road and the kite turning over must have stopped, so I didn't insist any longer and hurried down the mountain.

It was not easy to go up the mountain, but it was even harder to go down. My shoes were not anti-slip, and I fell on my buttocks five or six times. I felt so helpless. Everyone going down the mountain was very careful, and I slipped twice with every step. Not slipping was the first rule. I could not overtake, and anyone who overtook me would fall hard on their buttocks. So I was so cold when I went up the mountain, but I felt much warmer when I went down. When I saw the cable car station, it was as familiar as seeing the revolutionary Red Army, and I wanted to go up and join them.

1. You don't need to sign up for a tour group to climb Huashan. This time I signed up for a group, mainly because they offer round trip transportation and the price is 320 per person. The pitfall is that they charge the peak season price, which I didn't consider at the time.

Peak season: Ticket price 180. Round trip cableway to North Peak 150

Off-season: Tickets 100. North Peak round-trip cableway 80

The round trip shuttle fare is the same 40 per person.

If you go by yourself, you need to add a round trip fare. Generally, you can take the high-speed rail to Huashan, and then take a taxi from the high-speed rail station to the Huashan ticket office. The round trip fee is about 150 yuan. Although the transportation cost is higher, you have more time to climb the mountain. You can take the earliest subway (6 o'clock) from the city to the high-speed rail station. The high-speed rail takes about 40 minutes to Huashan, and the taxi takes about 10 minutes. If you go out and take the subway at 6 o'clock, you can start climbing Huashan at 8:30 in the morning. In this way, you can easily climb all five peaks with enough time.

2. When you go to Huashan in winter, you must keep warm. You don’t need to rush or run on the mountain, otherwise you will be out of breath.

Don’t stay too long, especially at the top of a mountain. If you stay too long, your body will get cold and your sweat will freeze. This is what happened to me this time. I stopped for 15 minutes after reaching the West Peak. There were still small snowflakes floating, and my feet were a little sweaty. When I walked, my whole body was cold, and the sweaty foot felt like it was stepping on ice.

If you encounter this situation, you don't need to climb, just keep walking to warm up. The side of the mountain is covered with knife marks, just like the traces of fighting left by the heroes in Jin Yong's novels!

3. There is a lot of food on Mount Huashan, but it is still recommended that you prepare some dry food, water, chocolate, etc. to replenish your energy. It is better if you can bring your own. The food on the mountain is probably very expensive. After all, the merchants have to hire porters to carry the food up. Of course, the rich don’t have to think about this, just eat wherever you go!

4. When climbing Huashan Mountain in cold weather, it is recommended to bring an extra layer of clothing. You will sweat when walking too much, so you can change it.

Scarves can be used to keep out the cold.

Gloves can be used to keep out the cold and pull the chains on the mountain.

Apply more Dabao before going out to prevent skin cracking.

5. It is not advisable to run vigorously when climbing the mountain. If you can arrange seven hours (girls' physical strength), start climbing before 9 am, and return to the cable car place before 5 pm, your trip to Huashan will not be stressful and you can walk slowly.

By Thinking Drink |

To enter Huashan, you need to take the scenic area transportation, which costs 40 yuan for a round trip. When I went there at the end of November, the West Peak Cableway had been closed and was being repaired, so I chose to take the East Peak Cableway up and down. The cableway price is 160 yuan for a round trip. If you don’t choose to stay overnight on Huashan, but want to go back and forth on the same day, it is best to take the cableway up and down, because it takes five or six hours to take the cableway and then climb the east, south, west and north peaks. For people like us with average physical strength, because you have to take the cableway up and down the East Peak, it is equivalent to climbing the East Peak twice, which is still very physically demanding, and it is still very cold on the mountain at the end of November.

It is said that climbing Mount Huashan is steep, but to be honest, there are only two steep places, the Changkong Plank Road and the Yaozi Fantan. I want to walk on the Changkong Plank Road, but I need to queue for a long time and there are really a lot of people. I don’t recommend queuing. Wait until you reach the East Peak. The Yaozi Fantan is at the top of the East Peak. You don’t need to queue. If you are interested, I suggest you join it. The Yaozi Fantan takes about half an hour to walk. It is really highly recommended. There are few people and the scenery is also beautiful.

After passing the ticket check, we took the scenic shuttle bus to the starting point of the West Cableway. On the mountain road, looking out the window, we saw layers of peaks, and vaguely saw the peaks in the distance looking gray and white. Intuition told us that it was snow. We can see the snow, but don't let it melt in the heat.

After getting off the shuttle bus, the walk to the starting point of the cable car was not long. After walking for a few minutes, sparse snow could be seen on both sides of the road.

After getting off the cable car and leaving the station, the three of us could only utter the same sound, "Wow~". There was snow everywhere, on the ground, on the trees, on the roofs, and in our eyes there was snow.

Some of the stairs will be covered with ice, and my shoes have flat soles, so it is easy to slip when walking. I decisively bought spiked insoles. The vendors usually offer a price of 30, and you can bargain with them in a low voice, or buy with a few people and ask for 20, which is fine.

It’s more like taking photos and enjoying the scenery rather than climbing the mountain.

This time, the cable car tour route from west to north was quite relaxing.

After you get out of the high-speed rail station, there is a free shuttle bus to the entrance of Huashan. There are also some people soliciting customers. If you are not in a hurry, just wait for the shuttle bus~

The mountains of Huashan are different from the mountains I have seen before. There are many exposed granites. When I reached the top of the mountain, I couldn't help but sigh at the beautiful mountains and rivers of my great motherland.

Don't think you don't have to climb the mountain by taking the cable car. We are going up north and down west.

If you want to climb the entire route without taking the cable car, it will probably take two days.

We didn’t choose to climb at night because we were afraid that climbing all night would be tiring.

Just choose whichever you like. The scenery you see is different anyway.

After exiting Huashan North Station, there is a free bus that goes directly to Huashan Visitor Center. There is a bus every 10 minutes, which is very convenient. Huashan, I am finally here, and I am going to start "conquering" Huashan, the Western Peak. After we bought tickets at the Visitor Center, we went to Station 2 to take a free bus to the hiking entrance. It may be because of the off-season, few people hiked up the mountain, but this way we hiked more comfortably without crowding. Starting from Yuquanyuan, we climbed up all the way, mostly uphill roads and stairs. The air on the mountain is very good, less smog in Xi'an city, more negative ions, well, take a deep breath, and absorb more "fairy air"! Maybe you can practice "Fairy Sword" here.

We passed Qianchi Chuang and Baizhang Gorge, and wanted to continue to the South Peak to challenge the Sky Plank Road, but since we did not plan to stay on Huashan today, we had to take the cable car down the mountain before the Huashan cableway closed, so we decided to leave it as a regret and challenge the remaining four peaks of Huashan (Central Peak, South Peak, West Peak, East Peak) next time. Let's have some fun at Huashan!

By Gypsophila |

If you encounter the West Peak cableway maintenance during your trip, you can only take the cableway up and down from the north, and then the route from the north to the West Peak, South Peak, East Peak, and Central Peak is very long and winding. It is relatively tiring to climb, but the scenery is really worth it. It is recommended to wait until the West Peak cableway is repaired, and then take the route up from the west and down from the north, so that you can take in all the scenery in one fell swoop.

I started the night climb the day before the off-season. I began to doubt my life as soon as I started climbing. The more I climbed, the more I thought, "At this age, I am enduring torture that I shouldn't have to endure." It took me seven hours to reach the East Peak Sun Viewing Platform while climbing and resting. It was only half past five at that time. I wanted to sleep, but my legs were too cold and I couldn't sleep at all. I could only take a nap. I waited for about two hours and saw the sunrise. It was really beautiful. I instantly felt that everything was worth it. After taking pictures of the sunrise, I went to the Yaozi Flip Flop, but I didn't think it was thrilling at all. It would be better to play the Changkong Plank Road. However, after playing the Changkong Plank Road, I felt that it was just as unexciting. Then I went to the West Peak and finally went down the mountain. However, fourteen hours had passed since the night climb. My knees hurt when I went down the stairs. The more I walked, the more I wanted to kneel down. The more I walked, the more desperate I became. When I finally reached the North Peak Cableway, it was like seeing God

When I first arrived at the Huashan Visitor Center, I was not surprised by Huashan from a distance. For me who has lived in the mountains since childhood, Huashan is really not high, but when I got to the mountain, I was stunned by the majestic style of Huashan! The wishing belts carry the good wishes of tourists, and the love locks witness the beautiful love of couples! This has become another beautiful scenery on Huashan. As the most dangerous mountain in the world, Huashan is indeed almost 90 degrees in many places. Of course, some 90-degree roads are not necessary, depending on your physical strength. We went from the North Peak to the Center, East Peak, and South Peak to the West Peak. Regarding the standard tourist photo of Huashan Sword Contest, the sign of Huashan Sword Contest is really everywhere in Huashan, so there is no need to take a group photo when there are many people. Huashan had snowed the day before we went, so there was still a lot of snow on the mountain. Some places were frozen and a bit slippery, so shoes must be non-slip when going to Huashan in this season. We climbed while playing, and it was already around 4pm when we reached the West Peak. We rested for a while at the West Peak and then went down the mountain. Due to time constraints, it was a pity that we didn't wait for the sunset at the West Peak, but the scenery of Huashan still made me linger. In addition, there is a slide on the cableway down the West Peak that is particularly fun, and I want to ride it again.

If you go to Huashan by yourself, you have to buy a train ticket and take a taxi, which is time-consuming and laborious. It is better to save energy by taking a day trip. We booked a package that only included the tour guide and tickets. The cable car fee can be paid by the tour guide on the bus.

Most of the one-day tours on Huashan Mountain only have the west-up and north-down, west-up and west-down, or north-up and north-down. But when we were making our travel guide, many people recommended the north-up and west-down route as the most classic, so we asked the tour guide to buy us separate tickets for the north-up and west-down cableway.

After arriving at the Huashan scenic spot, there is still some distance to the cable car, so you need to buy a cable car bus.

North Peak Cableway Bus: 20 yuan/person (20 minutes by car), West Peak Cableway Bus: 40 yuan/person (45 minutes by car)

Cableway fee: North Peak Cableway 80 yuan/person (about 15 minutes), West Peak Cableway: 160 yuan/person (about 25 minutes), and Huashan exclusive insurance 10 yuan/person. In total, including the cost of a day trip, a trip to Huashan costs about 498 yuan/person.

Let me share some information about Mount Huashan so that you can consider how to get up the mountain when you travel. Mount Huashan has five peaks in total, North Peak, East Peak, Central Peak, South Peak, and West Peak. The North Peak is the shortest (1,614 meters above sea level), the South Peak is the highest (2,160.8 meters above sea level), and the West Peak has the most beautiful scenery. The East Peak has the "Kite Turning Over" and the South Peak has the "Sky Plank Road" (the tour guide said that you have to queue up for the plank road project, which usually takes 1-2 hours...)

Going up from the north and down from the north and going up from the west and down from the west are relatively easier. People with average physical strength can choose these two. Young guys going up from the west and down from the north can give it a try, while going up from the north and down from the west is the most tiring... The road to the North Peak is the steepest, with almost 90-degree steps, and each step is very narrow. As a person with a fear of heights, I really risked my life and dared not look back. But after reaching the top, I feel really great.

By DONNY*SHEI |

When I arrived at the foot of the mountain, I felt the wonder and danger of Huashan. The Baoding at the foot of the mountain shows the majesty of Huashan. Walking from the East Peak to the North Peak is the only way to go down the mountain. There are various signs to prevent people from getting lost. One of them is quite pertinent, that is, don't take pictures when going down the mountain, and don't go down the mountain if you take pictures. Huashan in the cable car allows me to experience its charm more closely. The rocks of Huashan are perfectly carved out of its majestic side in the washing and sedimentation of history and nature.

We arrived in Xi'an on September 30th and climbed Mount Huashan on October 1st. There were very few people on the first day of the holiday. In the next few days, I saw the photos taken by friends on Mount Huashan in WeChat Moments. It was the familiar people who followed the crowd. Most people would choose to go up from the west and down from the north, but we chose to go up from the north and down from the west. We took the 7 o'clock train and arrived at the Huashan Visitor Center at about 8 o'clock. We took the 5 o'clock train back to Xi'an in the evening. After the whole tour, the body was not very tired, and the time was not very tight. It felt just right to visit for one day. To be honest, as a young lady who has run multiple half marathons and has good physical strength, the subsequent continuous climbing of the mountains in the east, west, south, north and center was also very tiring. The scenery on the way up the mountain may be beautiful, and you may feel a strong sense of accomplishment by stepping on Mount Huashan under your feet step by step. But how do you know that the scenery you see in the cableway is not a magical touch to the soul, and that enjoying the scenery with full physical strength is not free and easy. For those who only have one day, I suggest that you still go up and down the double cableway. Trekking poles and gloves are not important for people who go up and down the cableway, and they will not be used many times. There are many kinds of delicious food on Huashan Mountain, and the quality is complete for you to choose from, as long as you have money. The premium is basically about 4 times. We brought food with us throughout the trip - beef jerky, chocolate, bread, corn sausage, fruit, and various snacks. Fruit is the best. It's so refreshing to eat oranges, apples, etc. when you are tired of climbing! Judging from the temperature on October 1, a single piece of clothing and a coat are enough. The temperature on the mountain is not very low during the day, and the sun is relatively strong. A few suggestions: bring sunscreen and apply it frequently, the sun is very strong, you need to prepare a pair of sunglasses, shoes with high friction, many places are stone-carved stairs that are a bit slippery, walk without looking at the scenery, pay attention to safety, Huashan is a bit dangerous. You say that the regular nine-to-five life is good or not, day after day is meaningless, but it is the stable life that many people who are forced to rush around dream of, and dare not be dissatisfied. The chic life of the west wind as a horse and the rain as a flute is probably in the dream of the twenty-year-old. Today, while the sun is shining, the wind and falling rocks of Huashan accompany me. After climbing a short distance, we arrived at the top of the mountain. The road to the top of the mountain was basically carved out of stone, with iron ropes hanging on both sides. After climbing up the North Peak, there is basically only one road. To get to the Central Peak and the East Peak, you just need to walk along the road. I remember a couple took the cableway like us, and we met once at the top of the North Peak. We went to the Central Peak and climbed up the East Peak and saw the two of them again. It was a wonderful experience. Huashan is really dangerous. Many places require both hands and feet to climb up. Anyway, safety is the main thing, and image is secondary. Pretending to be cool is the worst policy.

There is a parking lot in front of the ticket office of Huashan Scenic Area. After parking the car, go to the hall to buy tickets. Because it is a holiday, there are many people queuing up to buy tickets in the ticket hall. After all, it is a mature tourist attraction. There is a special ticket window for online ticket purchase in the hall. I decided to buy tickets online. I bought a package ticket for 454 yuan, including tickets, round-trip bus tickets, West Peak and North Peak cableway tickets. Tickets can be reused for 2 days. The West Peak cableway ticket is also valid for 2 days, but it cannot be reused, which is convenient for tourists who visit Huashan at night. The online ticket confirmation is also very fast. I took all the tickets directly at the window and lined up to take the bus to start a day's mountain tour. We went up from the North Peak to the West Peak for two reasons. On the one hand, we staggered some people and reduced the waiting time in line. On the other hand, like the more dangerous Canglong Ridge, Qianchi Chuang, and Baichi Gorge, I prefer the feeling of climbing up, looking back and looking down at the way I came, which is more artistic. Our tour order was North Peak (there was a stone carving of the Battle of Huashan on the top of the peak) (East Peak (the Harrier Turning Over, and the sunrise viewing was also on the East Peak) (Central Peak (Jade Maiden Temple, Rootless Tree) (South Peak (the highest peak of Huashan, there was a stone carving of the altitude on the top of the peak, and you need to queue up for the Sky Plank Road, which can only hold 10 people at a time, and it takes about half an hour to go back and forth) (West Peak (Lotus Peak, I didn't go up to it twice, I just looked at it from a distance). Because there were too many people visiting during the holidays, the peaks were crowded, so we didn't reach the top of South Peak and West Peak, and went down the mountain directly from the West Peak cableway.

Huashan is famous all over the world, with beautiful scenery, but the attitude of the staff on the mountain is not good. That time, when I went up the mountain, I happened to meet a girl on the mountain who asked the staff which road was flatter down the mountain, but they actually replied that the highway was flatter. That attitude was so infuriating. Maybe it was an individual case, but it was really uncomfortable.

By Zheng Dada Dana |

It is said that Mount Huashan is very dangerous, especially after it snows. It is really dangerous because the mountain is very steep and the road is very slippery. You have to be careful with every step you take. So Mount Huashan is the most exciting stop for me on this trip.

I rented a coat because I was afraid it would be too cold. It turned out to be the right thing to do. Haha, the 20-dollar coat didn’t make me feel cold at all. You can still bring more snacks with you because the prices up there are higher…

It's easy to go up the mountain because we took a cable car... a very long cable car, it felt like we sat for a long time hahaha, the mountain is spectacular... very grand... well worth a visit.

The skywalk that I have been longing for for a long time...it is super exciting.

Huashan is great, and it is one of the must-see attractions in your lifetime, but if you are afraid of heights, I suggest you don't go there... your legs will go weak in a minute. It's still a bit cold to go there in winter, so you still need a coat. I was forced to be blown by the cold wind for two hours while waiting in line. And this time I also experienced the excitement of Huashan at night... because after I came out, I couldn't keep up with the big group, and it felt like there was no one (so it's important to remind you that it's best not to be alone, don't be left alone... otherwise it will be scary to go down the mountain alone for four hours), it's best to invite a few more friends or hikers to climb. It's always more lively when there are more people. There is a section of the mountain road that is almost vertical to the ground. Anyway, it feels really worth it. I'm so happy. I went down the mountain for four or five hours, and it was a different experience.

Finally, I suggest you stay at the foot of the mountain. It is very convenient to go back to the hostel after you get off the mountain. And you should wear gloves and non-slip shoes...

By Warm vegetables |

If you sign up for a one-day tour, it is recommended to choose the route from west to north, because the North Peak is too steep and it will be very tiring to climb the mountain. It is necessary to remind everyone that Huashan is famous for its dangers. There are iron chains on both sides of the mountain road. Sometimes you have to use your hands and feet to climb the mountain. Wearing a pair of gloves can avoid scratches. You can also buy them at the scenic spot for 5 yuan a pair. The scenery on the mountain is really beautiful, but the wind is a bit strong and the temperature is 5-6℃ lower than at the foot of the mountain.

Huashan Mountain is one of the famous Five Great Mountains in China. It is world-famous for its precipitous, magnificent, magical and beautiful scenery. It is one of the famous tourist destinations in the country as "the most dangerous in China" and "the most amazing in the world".

By Jingshan |

Whether you climb Mount Huashan at night or during the day, it is a different experience. Just choose the way that suits you. I have to say that the scenery of Mount Huashan is really beautiful.

By Metasequoia |

Huashan, formerly known as "Xiyue" and elegantly called "Taihuashan", is one of the Five Sacred Mountains. It is located in Huayin City, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province, 120 kilometers east of the provincial capital Xi'an. It borders the Qinling Mountains in the south and overlooks the Huangwei Mountains in the north. Since ancient times, it has been said to be "the most dangerous mountain in the world".

The "Hua" in "China" comes from Huashan, so Huashan is known as the "root of China". Huashan is the holy land of the mainstream Quanzhen Sect of Taoism, the "fourth cave heaven", and is also a widely worshipped deity among the Chinese people, namely the Lord God of Huashan, the Western Peak. There are 72 semi-suspended caves and more than 20 Taoist temples, among which Yuquanyuan, Dulong Temple, Dongdaoyuan, and Zhenyue Palace are listed as national key Taoist temples, and there are famous Taoist masters such as Chen Tuan, Hao Datong, and He Yuanxi.

Huashan, formerly known as "Xiyue", is one of the famous Five Mountains in my country. It is 2,154.9 meters above sea level and is located in Huayin City, Weinan City, a historical and cultural site 120 kilometers east of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. It is bordered by the vast Weihe Plain and the roaring Yellow River to the north and the Qinling Mountains to the south. It is a granite mountain on the north side of the watershed ridge of the Qinling Mountains branch.

Although there is a saying that goes "After climbing the Five Mountains, you will not look at any other mountains; after climbing Mount Huangshan, you will not look at any other mountains", but as someone who has climbed Mount Huangshan, after climbing Mount Huashan, I still feel that the strange and dangerous scenery of Mount Huashan is by no means inferior to that of Mount Huangshan.

Since we came at the end of July, which is the peak tourist season, many people went into the mountain, and most of them chose the route of going up from the west and down from the west, or going up from the west and down from the north, to save energy. We followed the advice of the hotel front desk and went to the mountain during off-peak hours, choosing the route of going up from the north and down from the west. First, I was confident in my physical strength, second, queuing was really boring, and I would rather use this time to walk and rest, and third, the Canglong Ridge recommended by the guidebooks can only be climbed from the north. So after discussing with my wife, I decided to take my son to the route of going up from the north and down from the west.

In fact, climbing up from the north and down from the west is not so bad compared to climbing Huangshan. After all, the altitude of the North Peak cable car is already 1500+, and the altitude of Huashan’s main peak, the South Peak, is 2150+. In fact, you only climbed 600+, and there is only less than 100 meters from the North Peak cable car point to the North Peak. To Jinsuo Pass is basically all the way up (unlike Huangshan, where the altitude goes up and down one or two hundred meters, which consumes a lot of physical energy).

This time, we started to enter the mountain at 8:00, reached the top of the North Peak at 9:00, and reached Jinsuo Pass at 11:00. After that, we walked through all four peaks. At 3:45, we started to queue for the cable car down the West Peak. At 5:00, we took the bus down the mountain and returned to the tourist service center at 6:00. Because we brought children with us, we basically climbed for 10 minutes and rested for 3 minutes during the whole process, so we didn't feel exhausted.

The scenery on the mountain is beyond words. Canglong Ridge and Tianti are must-see attractions. The southeast, northwest, northeast and center are all outstanding. Due to time and courage, I didn't go there. The Changkong Plank Road was closed for maintenance.

The charges on the mountain are okay. After all, the transport cableway can only reach halfway up the mountain, and the rest still needs to be carried by people. It is definitely more expensive than at the foot of the mountain, but not outrageous.

I just want to complain about two things here:

One is the cable car station on the mountain. They knew there were a lot of people queuing up, but they still let everyone squeeze together without using guardrails to separate them. Many people cut in line and pushed each other. In fact, using guardrails to arrange the flow of people into a dragon shape is both safe and can achieve fairness on a first-come, first-served basis.

The other is Huayin City, which doesn't feel like a tourist city at all. After 7:30 pm, you can only take a taxi from the high-speed rail station to the scenic area. There are very few express buses. I finally got one, but the driver canceled the order. The taxi pick-up and drop-off point says that you can refuse to pay if you don't use the meter, but in fact it's still based on the number of people, 5 yuan per person, or 20 yuan per trip. It's not expensive, but you are a taxi, not an illegal taxi, so you should operate according to the taxi management regulations. The most annoying thing is that there was originally a free bus from Huashan to the high-speed rail station, which runs about every 20 minutes. This is a good thing for tourists, but in order to attract business, taxis exaggerate the waiting time and belittle tourists waiting for the bus. This really shouldn't be the way Shaanxi people treat guests. It's not bad, but the gap is obviously too big.

On June 9, I went up north and down west with my friends. This route is generally more uphill, but the most tiring part is Canglongling from the north peak to the center peak. The rest of the journey is okay. Before I went, I saw that many recommended routes were up west and down north. I personally think this route is not scientific, because most of the return journey is downhill, and you can't experience the feeling of climbing a mountain. Moreover, the return journey is very steep, and Canglongling is also downhill, which is a bit regrettable. So I chose to go up north and down west, which is good. There were many people queuing for the Changkong Plank Road, so I didn't go. It is really shocking, granite, the danger of Huashan, and there are locks for sale along the way 😂. A bottle of mineral water on the mountain costs 11, and it is not easy for porters to carry it up. It is best to bring 2-3 bottles of water and food. Do a good job of sun protection.

I went there on April 23rd. I started from Yuquanyuan at 10:30 pm and arrived at Jinsuoguan at almost 6 o'clock. I didn't stop much along the way. So those who say that it only takes 5 hours if you are physically fit are really not lying? 😂 I had to watch the sunrise at Jinsuoguan, and then set off to the East Peak, then the South Peak, and the West Peak. When I walked to Nantianmen, I was so tired that I could fall asleep immediately after sitting down to rest with my eyes closed. I knew it was not possible, so I continued to walk. Finally, I finished walking through several peaks and took the West Peak cable car down the mountain. The West Peak cable car is worth taking. The scenery is beautiful. The cable car entrance is built in the mountain. After going out and looking up, you will find it very magnificent. It was half past one when we went down the mountain. It was almost half past two when we returned to the visitor center. Then we took a car to Yuquanyuan, opened an hourly room, and took a nap. The scenic area and the shuttle bus are both in operation 24 hours a day. When I was tired of climbing the mountain, I felt that I would never come again in this life. After climbing, I must go again with the people I like, and it doesn't matter if I go many times.

Trekking poles and gloves are a must, whether you are going to climb at night or not. The stupid thing this time was that the weather was unpredictable, so I brought several coats, but I was very tired and sweaty all the way, so I only wore one coat when I reached the top of the mountain. For food, I recommend Snickers or various pies, don't eat too sweet food, Red Bull is very necessary.

Let's talk about some practical stuff

1. You must bring a raincoat and an umbrella. Don't be bothered by it. It may rain on a sunny day.

2 If you take the mountain bus before 10 am, it is recommended to go west up and north down. This route is longer. The whole journey is equivalent to about 25,000 steps on WeChat. Mountaineering is about walking more. This route can save money by cable car. If you have good physical strength and enough time, choose to go west up and north down.

3 Be mentally prepared. The cable car is more exciting than other mountains and takes about 18 minutes.

By white-stone |

I had no plan to go to Huashan, but I went there on a whim when I passed by by car. I went up and down, and saw the scenery in the official promotional photos of Huashan with my own eyes, and then came back. Is it true that no one has ever had such a good time at Huashan as I did? Haha

By ___Be content with your fate |

Huashan is really dangerous. We went up from the west and down from the north, from the west peak to the north peak. The time was a bit tight. When we arrived at Huashan, it was already around 12 noon, so we didn't have enough time to climb all five peaks, namely the east, south, west, and middle peaks. It was a pity that we didn't climb to the middle peak because we didn't have enough time. When we arrived at the Changkong Plank Road, the Changkong Plank Road was not open for some unknown reason, so it was a big pity that we didn't climb it. Huashan is really high and dangerous. When I came down from the mountain, my legs were shaking. The reason for pushing my head may be because the mountain is relatively high, or it may be because I walked a long way. Therefore, I recommend that you prepare some food and functional drinks such as Red Bull when you go up the mountain. It is recommended that you wear a pair of more comfortable sports shoes when climbing, and the upper of the shoes should not be particularly easy to be scratched. If it is raining, it is recommended that you buy non-slip gloves. The iron chain is still slippery after getting wet. You can also buy trekking poles to assist yourself in climbing and descending the mountain. If my physical strength is not very good, I recommend that you choose to go up from the west peak to the west, or go up from the north peak to the north. If the family is from outside the city, it is recommended to book a one-day tour to Mount Huashan from a travel agency. You can also book it directly online. If you buy it online, you will get more gifts, such as gloves, trekking poles, water, etc. The travel agency that you book online will be responsible for giving them away.

How should I put it? If you go there for the first time, you will definitely regret it halfway because there are many scammers on the road. It is said that you will arrive soon, but it is still very far away. Anyway, it takes at least 6 hours to get up. After you get up, you will find it is very good. When the sun slowly comes out, you will find that it is really worth it. It is so beautiful,

When I came down, I felt like my legs were no longer my own. But thinking about it, it was really beautiful. I would go there again if I had the chance. Now, I should get up. This dream was very real.

Huashan Mountain has been known for its dangers since ancient times. This time I witnessed the Huashan scenery described by Jin Yong, and it felt like I was in the scene of the Huashan Sword Contest.

The most precipitous rock among several famous mountains is very special.

Huashan, the Western Peak, stands majestically, and I personally think it is the most beautiful of the Five Mountains. I have been there twice, one of which was a night climb.

The mountain trail under the cable car is a very, very, very long trail that stretches upward. It must be very exciting to walk up the stairs, but it must be very self-torturing.

There are quite a few stone tablets on Mount Huashan commemorating the Battle of Huashan, probably three in total, but there is only one that is the "Origin".

Tips:

1. In June, I wore a small vest with a sunscreen jacket and leggings for Xi'an. I brought sneakers. In order to stay overnight, I brought a thin windbreaker and a shawl I bought in Qinghai. I used them all. I was sweating all the time during the climb and didn't feel cold at all, but it would be very cold once I stopped and started again. Especially when you climb to the top of the mountain to rest, warm clothing can come in handy, but don't bring too many things, because you have to bring them all yourself.

2. As for what tools to buy, we bought gloves, which are useful for places where you need to pull the chain with your hands. Electric lights are completely useless. Huashan is brightly lit and there are many people. You don’t have to worry about getting lost. Just follow the crowd. Trekking poles and blessing locks vary from person to person.

The key to mountaineering is water and salt supplementation, so fruits and beef jerky are more important. Of course, mineral water and your perseverance are also indispensable.

Huashan, also known as Taihuashan, is a granite mountain with sparse vegetation. It is majestic and beautiful, with cliffs thousands of feet high everywhere, which is extremely steep and breathtaking. The characteristics of Huashan are rarely seen in other places. If you want to see different scenery when traveling, Huashan is the first choice.

Among the Three Mountains and Five Peaks and similar peaks, Huangshan, Huashan and Sanqingshan are the three most beautiful mountains in my mind!

Huashan is dangerous, but the cableway is worth it! Although Huashan is large, it costs 321 yuan to go up from the north and down from the west by cableway. You can also go down from the west mountain to the north, but the steep stairs down are more terrifying than going up.

The second stop of the Five Sacred Mountains, Huashan is indeed not an easy mountain to climb. It is dangerous but not that bad. As long as you don’t go to Yaozi Fanshe and Changkong Plank Road, you can climb the rest if you are careful. It’s just that the road is so long.

The scenery is beautiful, the sunrise is joyful, and it is very popular.

Huashan Mountain in winter will be particularly charming, with fewer tourists and less interference. If you have time, you can stay on the mountain for one night and watch the sunrise at the East Peak the next day. The Changkong Plank Road is a good place to test your mental quality, but you must pay attention to safety.

It was worth the trip. After climbing Huashan Mountain at night, I swore that I would never be interested in climbing mountains again.

A place you want to visit again after visiting it once. It is unforgettable to climb Huashan Mountain at night to watch the sunrise from the "There has been only one road to Huashan Mountain since ancient times". The next day, after visiting various peaks, walk down the mountain from the "Smart Huashan Road".

I have always had a complex about Mount Huashan, probably because of watching Mr. Jin Yong's martial arts dramas. On September 6 this year, I finally climbed to the top of Mount Huashan and walked all over the peaks of Mount Huashan, fulfilling my dream about Mount Huashan~
