Qianling Mausoleum

Qianling Mausoleum was built in 684 AD. It is the only mausoleum in the world where a couple of emperors are buried together. It is the burial place of Emperor Gaozong of Tang, Li Zhi, and Empress Wu Zetian.
The mausoleum area is magnificent and the most eye-catching thing is the stone group statues outside the Suzaku Gate, which are neatly and respectfully arranged in front of the mausoleum, as if they are lining up to welcome the emperor's arrival.
The world-famous Wu Zetian Stele without Words stands on the east side of Sima Road outside the Vermillion Bird Gate. It stands out among the stone carvings in the entire Qianling Mausoleum with its exquisite carving art.
Qianling Mausoleum is also one of the few mausoleums of ancient Chinese emperors that has not been looted. The unearthed cultural relics are all from the tombs buried with Qianling Mausoleum, such as the tomb of Princess Yongtai and the tomb of Prince Yide.

Qianling Mausoleum is the joint tomb of Li Zhi and Wu Zetian. It was built according to the regulations of Chang'an City and may be the only imperial tomb in the Tang Dynasty that has not been looted. Many unearthed cultural relics in Qianling Mausoleum come from nearby tombs, such as the tombs of Prince Zhanghuai and Princess Yongtai. There is a Qianling Mausoleum Museum on the original site of the princess's tomb, which exhibits many precious Tang Dynasty cultural relics. The wordless stele outside the Suzaku Gate may be the most famous cultural relic in Qianling Mausoleum, which is very eye-catching.

By The Count and the Maiden's Feast |

Qianling Mausoleum, the joint burial mausoleum of Emperor Gaozong and Empress Wu Zetian of the Tang Dynasty, is located on Liangshan Mountain in the north of Qian County. This is not the Liangshan Mountain of the 108 generals. There are shuttle buses in the scenic area, and you can also drive up by car. There is still a long distance from the gate of the scenic area to the sacred road. At the same time, Qianling Mausoleum is relatively remote, there are no complete supporting facilities nearby, and the catering is relatively simple.

The scenic area is very large, from the sacred path to the inscriptionless stele, and then you can walk up to the tomb entrance and the top of the mountain. However, I heard that Qianling Mausoleum has not been opened yet, so even if you walk to the tomb entrance, you can't go in to visit. It happened to be quite hot that day, so I just took a look from below.

By Thinking Drink |

The main tomb of Qianling Mausoleum has not been excavated yet. What we can see now is only the exterior furnishings of Qianling Mausoleum. The inscriptionless stele is just a large stone stele. The most interesting thing is that there are still words on it. But to be honest, the viewing value of Qianling Mausoleum is still not high. We don’t know how magnificent and grand the main tomb is. These are just our guesses. So if you don’t have enough time, it is not recommended to visit Qianling Mausoleum.

Qianling Mausoleum is divided into five scenic areas (five scenic area packages). You can drive yourself (no charge for self-driving) or take the shuttle bus (extra charge). Starting from the ticket office of the South Gate parking lot, the shuttle bus tour route is Prince Yide's Tomb Museum→Princess Yongtai's Tomb (also the location of Qianling Mausoleum Museum) and Qianling Mausoleum Imitation Tang Dynasty Underground Palace→Prince Zhanghuai's Tomb→Qianling Mausoleum Hill. The shuttle bus takes a circular route, and you will not miss any scenic spots no matter which stop you take.

I walked around the imitation Tang Dynasty underground palace, but it was meaningless. The scenes were not well made, and the mannequins were ugly and sad, like a haunted house. When I got on the bus again, the driver might ask if I wanted to go to the tomb of Prince Zhanghuai, because it was similar to the previous two tombs, and many people might choose not to see it.

At the top of Qianling Mountain, the road becomes more difficult as you climb up. After climbing up, you can only see farmland. I probably climbed to the entrance of the tomb and did not climb up any further. There are many old ladies selling their handicrafts on the mountain road, and there are also local guides. It is said that they have all witnessed the excavation of Qianling.

Qianling Mausoleum is one of the 18 mausoleums of the Tang Dynasty in the Guanzhong area of Shaanxi Province. It is located in the north of Qian County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, on Liangshan Mountain, 6 kilometers away from the county seat. It is the joint tomb of Emperor Gaozong of Tang, Li Zhi, and Empress Wu Zetian. The mausoleum is large in scale, with a circumference of 80 li (Tang Huiyao). The mausoleum has two inner and outer walls, of which the inner city's north and south walls are 1,450 meters long, the east wall is 1,583 meters long, and the west wall is 1,438 meters long, with a total area of nearly 2.4 million square meters.

Qianling Mausoleum is also the only Tang Dynasty imperial tomb with double city walls. The inner city symbolizes the imperial city of Chang'an, the capital, and the outer city is equivalent to the city walls where officials and citizens live, reflecting the overall layout of the ancient Chinese capital at that time.

By Arslan |

The stone carvings on the sacred road and the two large inscriptions are very good. You can climb up the tomb mound to see the complete structure of the mausoleum, such as the layout of the quetai on both sides. However, the way up the mountain is a bit difficult to walk, so don't challenge it if you don't wear sports shoes.

The main things to see in the main mausoleum are the wordless stele and the statues of the sixty-first ministers. Feel the traces left by history. Looking back at the double-breasted towers, they are indeed very similar. The entire attraction also includes three underground palaces open to the burial tombs and the Qianling Museum. Don't miss it. The tombs are not big and the shapes are similar. I listened to the explanations. The endings of Prince Yide, Princess Yongtai, and Prince Zhanghuai are so sad. It is not always a blessing to be born in an imperial family.

Qianling Mausoleum is the joint tomb of Emperor Gaozong of Tang and Empress Wu Zetian. It was built in the first year of Emperor Guangzhai of the Tang Dynasty (684 AD) and covered in the second year of Emperor Shenlong of the Tang Dynasty (706 AD). It was built in the way of "taking the mountain as the mausoleum" and the mausoleum area was built in the style of the capital city of Chang'an. In addition to the main tomb, Qianling Mausoleum also has 17 small tombs for other royal family members and meritorious officials. Qianling Mausoleum is the best preserved of the 18 mausoleums of the Tang Dynasty and the only mausoleum that has not been robbed.

The Qianling Mausoleum tourist area includes Qianling Mausoleum and the Tomb of Prince Yide, the Tomb of Princess Yongtai, and the Tomb of Prince Zhanghuai. You can buy a scenic spot link ticket directly at the ticket office. A car will take you to visit the other three places first and then return to Qianling Mausoleum.

Take a bus from downtown Xianyang to the North Bus Station, then take a bus to Qianxian County. There are buses to Qianling Mausoleum in the county town, but they are not at the entrance of the bus station, so you have to ask people. Alternatively, you can take a tricycle directly from Qianxian Bus Station to Qianlong Mausoleum, which is not expensive.

If you go there on a sunny day, the view will be great!

When I went there, there was heavy fog (haze), and I couldn’t even see the mausoleum behind the Qianling Mausoleum clearly. . .

Friends who love history should definitely not miss this place. It is the only mausoleum of two emperors in China. It is said that the original copy of Lanting Preface may still be inside.

By Chen Wei |

Qianling Mausoleum is the only mausoleum in the world where two generations of emperors are buried together. It is the burial place of Emperor Gaozong of Tang, Li Zhi, and his wife, Wu Zetian, the only empress in China. Qianling Mausoleum is also the best-preserved imperial mausoleum known to date, with the richest collection of cultural relics and no looting.

Qianling Mausoleum is the joint tomb of Emperor Gaozong of Tang, Li Zhi, and Empress Wu Zetian. The inscriptionless stele that haunts the baby stands here.

By LAMHIUFOON |

During the entire trip, what I was most looking forward to was actually Qianling Mausoleum, because it is the home of the only female emperor in Chinese history and her creative and ingenious stele without words.

Apart from the stele without words, there is nothing else to see in Qianling Mausoleum. Since Qianling Mausoleum has never been robbed, no cultural relics have been unearthed. On the road leading to Qianling Mausoleum, there are various stone sculptures along the way. There are also stone statues on the east and west sides of the sacred road outside the Suzaku Gate of Qianling Mausoleum without heads. There are many different opinions about the reason. It is rumored that the heads of these stone statues were chopped off by the people of the Ming Dynasty.

On October 23, 2018, I wandered around Qian County alone and visited Qianling Mausoleum and Qianling Mausoleum Museum. This is the only mausoleum in the world where two emperors were buried together, and one of the few imperial mausoleums that has not been successfully robbed. In addition to Qianling Mausoleum, there are several tombs for princes, princesses and princes. The scenic spot is well managed and I think it is worth a visit!

By A leaf of bamboo |

Traveling during the National Day holiday is definitely not the best choice. To be honest, it was only when I arrived at Qianling Mausoleum that I felt how crowded it was. In my impression, the imperial mausoleum should be desolate and solemn, but now it feels like visiting a park.

By Jiaozi |

To be honest, apart from the stele without words, there is nothing interesting in other places. The tomb chamber is empty, and the murals have been moved to the Shaanxi Museum. The walls are all copied. After a circle, the last attraction is Qianling.

However, because Qianling Mausoleum has not been excavated, there are really few places to see. If you are not here with feelings like me, but just as a tourist, I don’t recommend coming here. It is not of a popular science nature, there is no scenery, only the wordless stele and my feelings.

Qianling Mausoleum is the joint tomb of Li Zhi and Wu Zetian. The terrain is quite spectacular and you can see the inscriptionless stele.

I went to three of the five attractions, Qianling Mausoleum, Prince Yide's Tomb, and Princess Yongtai's Tomb. They were average. Here's some practical official ticket booking and timetable for Chengxi Bus Station

A row of ancient roads, two rows of stone figures, a monument without words, a ticket, 120, think for yourself

By czddzf |

When we arrived at the main gate of Qianling Mausoleum, the stone figures on both sides of the tomb passage quietly waited for us. After passing the stone figures, we first saw the inscribed stele of Emperor Gaozong of Song, Li Zhi, and the inscribed stele of Wu Zetian. However, the inscribed stele of Li Zhi has been weathered and basically cannot be seen, while the inscribed stele of Wu Zetian is full of inscriptions because of the messages left by later generations on the stele.

The headless statues of foreign ministers that can be seen after the monument without words are said to be because the descendants of the foreign ministers did not want their ancestors to guard the tomb of Empress Wu, so they wanted to chop off their heads. Looking back, I saw the double breasts, yes, they look like them. The stone lions of Wu Zetian are all different, they are majestic and powerful, and it is impossible to tell whether they are male or female.

The prosperous times are like a dream. A hundred years later, I am no longer the emperor. I am just your wife. Photos taken on the top of the mountain.

When you arrive at Qianling Mausoleum, you can climb the mountain, ask a guide, listen to historical stories, see the remains of the tomb entrance, and the cave dwellings where the tomb keepers used to live.

The most impressive attraction in Xi'an! Very few people, very quiet, very spacious, huge stone forest, vast land and rich resources, imperial atmosphere!

By smile |

The underground palace of Qianling Mausoleum has not been excavated so far. It is the best preserved of the 18 Tang tombs. Countless people have tried to rob the tomb in history, but none of them succeeded. It was not until the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China that a few farmers accidentally blasted the entrance to the tomb with blasting rocks. Archaeologists began to conduct a series of research. At that time, Premier Zhou's instructions were "We cannot finish a good thing, this matter can be left to future generations to complete", so it was then protected. This time I just came to take a look outside the underground palace. The Shusheng Ji Stele, opposite to the Wordless Stele, was written by Wu Zetian herself. After thousands of years of wind and rain, most of the words on it have become blurred.

I hope I can wait until the underground palace is opened in my lifetime, and I will definitely come again.

By bwb |

This attraction is pretty good, but the bundled marketing is disgusting! I only wanted to go to Qianling Mausoleum, so I agreed to the package. But they tricked me into buying tickets, and then took me to a bunch of attractions I didn't want to go to, which took up my time! Self-driving is to only visit the attractions you like, so what's the difference between this and a group tour? So depressing! Here I would like to remind everyone that if you drive, you can drive up directly after buying the ticket, don't listen to their tricks!

By exodus |

Because they are all mausoleums, I didn't take many photos. I went with a tour group, mainly because it was too far and inconvenient. It's not that I'm not satisfied with Qianling Mausoleum, but it's really boring to follow the tour group. I was driven all the way. The itinerary was too full. The tour group basically took the route of Maoling-Qianling Mausoleum-Famen Temple. The main locations were scattered, so you had to go to Maoling Mausoleum, Qianling Mausoleum (including Prince Yide's Mausoleum) in the morning, and Famen Temple in the afternoon. Can you imagine how much you really know? To be honest, if you don't have enough time, I don't recommend this route. If you have the conditions, of course you can come by yourself... Qianling Mausoleum is the joint burial mausoleum of Wu Zetian and her second husband Li Zhi. Wu Zetian's mausoleum will not be mined within a hundred years because the current maintenance technology is not up to standard. The whole journey is about 40.50 minutes. When you go to Qianling Mausoleum, you usually visit the mausoleums of Prince Yide and a princess. Prince Yide's tomb was robbed, so the tomb passage was developed for tourism. Walking through this tomb passage is quite interesting... The walls of the tomb passage are all palace murals from the Tang Dynasty. For protection reasons, they have been taken down by the state and placed in the Shaanxi History Museum. The tomb passage is full of imitation murals. Qianling Mausoleum is actually OK, but it is very sunny. There are wordless stele and 61 stone statues of foreign ministers, etc. If you go with a tour group, you really can't experience it in detail. If you are interested, you can go, but other tourists who visit here are not recommended to go.

Qianling Mausoleum has a deep relationship with a very famous cultural relic in history, that is, the Preface to the Lanting Poems. Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty highly praised it and personally wrote the Biography of Wang Xizhi in the Book of Jin, praising it as "perfect and beautiful". He also gave copies to his noble and powerful ministers, and it is said that the original was buried with him.

Wu Zetian's stele was blank, but later many literati and scholars left many poems on it, so it has now become a stele with words.

The second picture: The stele erected by Wu Zetian for Li Zhi. It is said that the words praising his merits and virtues on it were all gold-plated. Later, they were scraped off by the people, and now it has become a stele with no words on it.

By The world is so big |

The only emperor's mausoleum in Chinese history that has never been robbed is said to contain Wang Xizhi's "Lanting Preface". Wu Zetian's stele without words, the headless statue of a foreign minister... The long Sima Road is very shocking.

Qianling Mausoleum is the joint burial site of Wu Zetian and her husband Li Zhi, and is surrounded by tombs of Princess Yongtai, Prince Yide and others.

Qianling Mausoleum is magnificent from a distance. The Sima Road is wide, and the stone sculptures on both sides are still standing. The statues of envoys from all countries are damaged, but you can still see their original appearance. Even after a thousand years, you can still feel the economic level and international status of the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Friends who like the history of the Tang Dynasty can go and experience it.

It should be noted that the underground palace of Qianling Mausoleum has not yet been developed and the entrance to the underground palace has been backfilled.

By Mu Fengxi |

Qianling Mausoleum is the joint burial mausoleum of Emperor Gaozong of Tang, Li Zhi, and Empress Wu Zetian. It is built on a mountain with an altitude of more than 1,000 meters.

The Sima Shinto Road is the imperial road, which is magnificent. On both sides are civil and military officials. I was curious about who these officials were.

Ruan Wengzhong.

The wordless stele on the east side has a dragon carved on it, but no phoenix. It is surrounded by tourists, all of whom are circling around it. I don't know if someone came up with the idea that circling the stele can bring good luck.

The Shusheng Stele on the west side is a stele praising the merits of Emperor Gaozong of Tang. It is not as popular among tourists as the famous Stele without Words.

Winter is the off-season, and it has snowed in recent days, so there are not many tourists. After the tourists dispersed, I had the opportunity to be alone with these two monuments, carefully looking at them and touching these objects with countless stories and thousands of years of history.

It was raining heavily when we arrived at Qianxian. We started to go down the tomb passage from Princess Yongtai Li Xianhui and saw the real tomb environment. The slope of the tomb passage was very steep (about 45 degrees) and it was very difficult to walk. It was raining and the tomb passage was empty and very cold and scary. The most terrifying thing was the tomb of Prince Zhanghuai Li Xian. There were no buildings around it, just a bare mound and an underground palace. This place was really desolate and deserted. The tomb passage of Prince Yide Li Chongrun was much more spacious and we also walked through the 100.8-meter-long sloped tomb passage. Finally, we went to Qianling Mausoleum. Because it was raining, we didn’t see the appearance of the Qianling mountain. It is said that the double breast peaks are taken from the meaning of a beauty lying on her back, implying that Wu Zetian’s head was resting on Liangshan Mountain and her feet were stepping on Weishui. Walking up from the Sima Road at the bottom of the mountain was like entering the fairyland of Penglai, surrounded by clouds and mist.

By Han Xiaoyang |

To be honest, this is the worst value for money attraction in my travel experience. I went there for the monument without words, but to be honest, there wasn't much to see in the scenic area. The other attractions included in the ticket felt like a scam. The infrastructure of the scenic area is poor, and the toilets are not clean. Because there is horse riding, which should not be a charging point in the scenic area, it feels like the whole scenic area is full of horse manure. There are small stalls set up by local villagers on the roadside, selling "antiques" and puppets. The only good thing is that the locals' cloth tigers are pretty good. It's really not worth the price of 122, and there is a parking fee of 20... I only took three photos...

When you come to Qianling Mausoleum, you will know why you should visit the Tomb of Prince Yide. Because Qianling Mausoleum is not developed, you can only see the stone men outside and the stele without words. There is not enough time to climb the mountain. So you should visit the Tomb of Prince Yide first, and then come to Qianling Mausoleum. You can use your imagination freely. If you combine the two, the tomb passage is like that, and then expand it ten times, it will be Qianling Mausoleum. The stele without words is full of words, and the stele with words has fallen off. There are also headless stone statues that I saw on the science and education channel before, but I looked carefully and found that one of them still had half a head. This great discovery, I decided to report it to the country in a while. Hahahaha.

In general, it is useless and not cost-effective. This scenic spot includes a tomb mountain, three tombs for burial, and a money-making attraction. The tomb mountain is nothing to see. After the murals are removed from the tombs for burial, it is basically an air-raid shelter. Only the Tang Sancai Museum in the tomb of Princess Yongtai is acceptable. As for the money-making attraction, the imitation Tang underground palace, is it sure not to be a joke? It's so cheap to build such a thing. Aren't you afraid that Wu Zetian will come to you in your dreams at night? You still want to upgrade to level 5 with this? Maybe in your next life.

It's better not to spend money~ There's really nothing to see. There's only one road, the so-called Shinto, with broken stone statues on both sides. Then there's nothing to see. Can't you charge less for those who don't see it? It's still 122 yuan, what a rip-off

By Red Rush |

The scenery is pretty good, especially the sky was particularly blue that day, so it added a lot of points.

I also heard a lot of stories along the way, the main theme of which was that Qianling Mausoleum is a place with good feng shui.

Qianling Mausoleum has not been opened yet, so I also looked at the stone statues on the sacred path. Then I went to see the legendary wordless stele...

As for Wu Zetian, I thought I had read a few books about her, so I had some ideas about this.

The inscriptionless stele seems to weigh nearly 100 tons. There is still a distance between the sacred road and the statue. There is also a saying that the statue is headless.

So when you go to Xi'an to see history, you still need to listen more, but the level of the tour guide may be limited, so it is better to do some homework and go to see it if you are interested. After all, they are all in the suburbs, and transportation is not convenient. The only history you can see is the stones...

This is my second time to visit Qianling Mausoleum. Strangely, it rained in 2004 and it rained again this year. So I regretfully failed to see the entrance to Qianling Mausoleum. Hiking is prohibited on rainy days. The road is really bad and far. The artificial brick road is only a part. After the brick road, you have to climb a long muddy mountain road to get there. Even if it is not prohibited to climb on rainy days, it is still difficult and dangerous. I will leave the regret for next time. I have to say that Qianling Mausoleum is too great. The surrounding tombs have been robbed, but it still stands there. It has not been robbed after three large-scale tomb robberies.

Qianling Mausoleum is located on Liangshan Mountain, 6 kilometers north of Qian County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province. It is the joint tomb of Emperor Gaozong of Tang, Li Zhi, and Empress Wu Zetian. After the Qin and Han Dynasties, emperors and empresses were not buried together, but the joint tomb of the "two saints" of Qianling Mausoleum is unique. Qianling Mausoleum was built in the first year of Guangzhai in the Tang Dynasty (684) and covered in the second year of Shenlong (706). It was built in the way of "taking the mountain as the mausoleum", and the mausoleum area was built in imitation of the capital city of Chang'an. In addition to the main tomb, Qianling Mausoleum also has 17 small tombs for other royal family members and meritorious officials. Qianling Mausoleum is the best preserved main tomb among the 18 mausoleums of the Tang Dynasty, and it is also the only mausoleum in the Tang Dynasty that has not been robbed.

102 yuan is great value. I took the Qianxian bus from Chengxi Station and took a taxi to Qianling Mausoleum for 15 yuan (there is no storage there, I asked the aunt at the Qianling Mausoleum stall to help me watch it..) When I arrived at Qianling Mausoleum, the student ID was half price for 62 yuan. After visiting the tomb of Prince Yide, I took a sightseeing bus for 30 yuan (the corn bought by the aunt at the door was juicy and delicious), and then went to the tomb of Princess Yongtai, the tomb of Prince Zhanghuai, and finally the Qianling Mausoleum. Although the tomb of Princess Yongtai is worth seeing, and there is only one tomb passage for Prince Zhanghuai, the downhill is the most thrilling among these, and the circle patterns on both sides of the head in the main tomb chamber are the clearest. The carving on the middle tomb passage door is different from the other two tomb doors. The other two are lions spitting clouds. This one is... I forgot... The driver kept honking the horn, and I almost didn't finish reading it. Don't blame me, leaving a suspense. I didn't understand the Qianling Mausoleum Stele without Words and the Stele of What It Said, it seems that they were all written by later generations. After going up the mountain, I learned that the tomb passage of Qianling Mausoleum had been sealed for a long time, and there was nothing to see. I asked the stall lady to take my bag down the mountain. Then I bargained for a taxi to 15 yuan to take me to the carpooling place. When everyone was there, I gave him 20 yuan to take me to Xianyang Railway Station and prepared to go to Hanyang Mausoleum (I will not consider Maoling for now, although there are many generals' tombs, they are not developed). So far, the trip to Qianling Mausoleum has come to an end. I hope it will be helpful to you. August 1, 2017.

The whole family re-watched "The Empress of China", so I have a special yearning for this place. I read the introduction of the Wu Zetian Museum carefully, and it is the same as in the TV series. The scenes are vivid in my mind. They are also women. From then on, I admire Wu Zetian very much~ The ticket here is 122 yuan, including 5 attractions. We had dinner at the farm house and asked the locals to drive us around. It cost 50 per person and we played for 3 hours. It was worth it.

Qianling Mausoleum is located on Liangshan Mountain, 6 kilometers north of Qian County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province. It is the joint tomb of Emperor Gaozong of Tang, Li Zhi, and Empress Wu Zetian. Qianling Mausoleum is the best-preserved main tomb among the 18 Tang mausoleums, and it is also the only mausoleum in the Tang mausoleum that has not been robbed. Highlight 1: The main mausoleum was built in the pattern of Chang'an City, the capital of the Tang Dynasty. It is divided into the imperial city, the palace city and the outer city. The inner city has four gates, namely the Qinglong Gate in the east, the Suzaku Gate in the south, the Baihu Gate in the west, and the Xuanwu Gate in the north. According to the investigation of archaeologists, the inner city of the mausoleum is about square. Highlight 2: The wordless stele on the east side of Sima Road outside the Suzaku Gate is made of a complete boulder. It is 7.53 meters high, 2.1 meters wide, 1.49 meters thick, and weighs 98.8 tons in total, giving people a solemn, thick and integrated beauty. Highlight 3: On the east and west sides of the sacred road outside the Suzaku Gate, there are two groups of stone group portraits. The stone statues are neatly and respectfully arranged in front of the mausoleum, with 32 statues on the west side and 29 on the east side, for a total of 61 statues. These life-size stone statues are dressed differently, some in robes with waists, and some with lapel and purple sleeves. But they all stand side by side, with their hands clasped in front of them, in an extremely humble posture, as if they are lining up here to welcome the emperor's arrival, but these stone statues have no heads.

Tourists usually stop at the monument without words. Going up the mountain, there are few people. I happened to walk on the horse trail, and the edge trail leads to the end of the cliff. There are few birds and animals around, and you can overlook the vast wilderness. It is an open and quiet resting place.

If you are interested in history, this is a good place. If you are not interested, I don't recommend it.

From a distance, Qianling Mausoleum looks like a naked beauty. The Shuangfeng Mountains are the breasts, the main mausoleum is the head, and behind the head, that is, on the west side of the Qianling Mausoleum Back Mountain, is the huge pit that Huang Chao sent 400,000 people to dig in order to rob the Qianling Mausoleum.

The tour guide specifically reminded us that "you can't stand behind the statue to show your real head." I'm not afraid, but my dad is superstitious. . . . I could only take two photos and leave.

The magnificent tomb of two emperors is full of intriguing history behind the scenery.

Qianling Mausoleum is very close to the tomb of Princess Yongtai. The main attraction is a long sacred road. Qianling Mausoleum was dug out of a mountain. If you have enough time, you can walk to the foot of the mountain.

Ode to Qianling Mausoleum: Today, history cannot be explored, but it is left for the world to judge. A female empress is unparalleled in history. She has been indestructible for thousands of years. The inscriptionless stele discusses her merits and demerits. It is impossible to tell whether a woman is a hero or a man. I feel respect when I visit Qianling Mausoleum. Thousands of years have passed in the blink of an eye. If I were born in that dynasty, I would have made a difference. I admire this woman so much. She smiles at life and death for the king.

A must-see attraction on the west line when traveling to Xi'an. Qianling Mausoleum, where Emperor Gaozong of Tang and Empress Wu Zetian were buried together, is considered the best attraction in Xianyang. There are inscriptionless stele, 61 headless foreign ministers, and the Qianling Mausoleum package includes the tombs of Prince Zhanghuai, Princess Yongtai, and Prince Yide. You can also go down to the underground palace. We took a quick tour with the tour group.

Qianling Mausoleum is a unique mausoleum in the world where emperors of two dynasties and a couple of emperors are buried together. It is the burial place of the third emperor of the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Gaozong Li Zhi, and the only female emperor in Chinese history, Wu Zetian.

As a native of Xi'an, I went to Qianling Mausoleum a little late, but after I went there, I felt that it was not worth it. Although the mausoleum road is very wide and majestic, and the Weng Zhong in front of the mausoleum also has a sense of historical vicissitudes, and the wordless stele is very imaginative, the ticket is still too expensive in comparison. The scenic spots are divided into three places. In addition to Qianling Mausoleum, there are also the tombs of Prince Yide and Princess Yongtai, and the Qianling Mausoleum Museum. Although there are many contents, there are still not enough things to see in the main attraction Qianling Mausoleum. If you want to go up the mountain to see it later, the road is not very good. After going up, you can see the whole picture, and there is nothing else. You can go down to see the tomb of Prince Yide, which is not bad. There are also staff explanations, which are not bad, but the sales after the explanation is a bit of a headache. Recently, I heard that Qianling Mausoleum is creating a 5A scenic spot, and I feel that it still needs to be strengthened! The goal is to make tourists feel that the trip is worthwhile like Famen Temple.

I see that many people have said it in detail, so I will talk about something that no one has mentioned. Qianling looks like a naked beauty from a distance. Shuangfeng Mountain is the breasts, the main mausoleum is the head, and behind the head, that is, the back mountain of Qianling, is the west side where Huang Chao sent 400,000 people to dig a big pit to steal Qianling. So if you drive there, you can find a lot of things by going around Qianling. There are old cave dwellings. It's scary to think that those people lived in Wu Zetian's tomb. There are also stone masters from more than a thousand years ago who have not been protected.

When I went there, it was summer and super hot, but the Shuangru Peak on the left and the Wordless Monument on the right were quite shocking when they suddenly appeared in front of me. It’s just that Qianling Mausoleum and Famen Temple are on the same line, so you need to sign up for a one-day tour on the west line, otherwise you will be too rushed.

The tombs of the emperors of the Tang Dynasty were almost completely emptied after the large-scale excavation during the late Tang and Five Dynasties, but the underground palace of Qianling Mausoleum was the only one that was not destroyed by war or excavation by later generations. The Qianling Mausoleum Museum consists of Qianling Mausoleum, the Tomb of Prince Zhanghuai and the Tomb of Princess Yongtai, and is a precious first batch of national key cultural relics protection units. From the old photos, it can be seen that Qianling Mausoleum, including the Que Tower, was almost collapsed, which was very miserable, but after restoration, the appearance was completely renewed. Symmetrical stone beasts are distributed on both sides of the Sima Road. The envoys on both sides of the Que Tower were carved in imitation of the Western Regions or Oriental envoys at that time. Their obviously different clothes can still be seen today. Under the double ques are the Shusheng Ji Stele and the Wordless Stele, which were erected for the "two saints" buried here. The stone tablets of Qianling Mausoleum were written by Bi Yuan, the governor of Shaanxi Province in the Qing Dynasty, and Guo Moruo. The Tomb of Prince Zhanghuai and the Tomb of Princess Yongtai are a certain distance away from the mausoleum. Their main exhibitions are the corridors, murals and tombs of the museum and the underground palace. There is a special exhibition hall for Tang Dynasty tomb murals in the Shaanxi History Museum. If you are interested, you can go and have a look.

Qianling Mausoleum is the joint tomb of Emperor Gaozong of Tang and Empress Wu Zetian. The most famous one is the stele without words. The underground palace of Qianling Mausoleum Scenic Area has not been excavated. You can only see the whole mausoleum when you go there. It is a stone tomb built on the mountain. According to the explanation, there have been more than 300 famous tomb-robbing groups in history, but none of them succeeded. There is a Huang Chao ditch next to it. It is said that Huang Chao, a peasant uprising army, led 400,000 troops to rob the tomb, but all failed. The middle road of Qianling Mausoleum is Sima Road, which is similar to the sacred road built by the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are several rows of stone statues on both sides. What is more peculiar is that in addition to the common stone men and stone horses, there are also stone ostriches. After the stone statue, there are two stone tablets on both sides. The left one is the stone tablet of Emperor Gaozong of Tang. It is said that there were more than 6,000 characters on it before, but only more than 1,000 characters are left now. The characters are relatively small and not very clear. The right one is the well-known Wu Zetian stele without characters. In fact, it is full of characters. It can be confirmed that they are all engraved by later generations. Among them, the famous ones have twelve bronze characters. Because the bronze characters have been lost, these characters have certain research value for studying bronze characters. Then after passing the Que Tower, there are 61 stone statues of envoys, but their heads have been cut off. However, it can be seen that they all look like foreign envoys in the Tang Dynasty. Finally, there are two stone lions in front of the mausoleum. The one on the right is the real one. Finally, there are two tombstones, which are quite interesting. One was engraved in the Qing Dynasty and only wrote the tomb of Emperor Gaozong of Tang. The other was inscribed by Guo Moruo, which is more pertinent. It can be seen that the feudal society did not recognize the status of Empress Wu Zetian. The mausoleum can be climbed, but it is quite steep and it is a stone tomb. Finally, because of the combined ticket, you can take a shuttle bus to see the tombs of Princess Yongtai and Prince Yide. These two tombs are legendary because they were beaten to death during the reign of Wu Zetian, and were later reburied after their father, Emperor Zhongzong of Tang, Li Xian, succeeded to the throne for the second time. These two tombs have been opened and you can go into the underground palace to see it. At the same time, you can see some holes made by robbers. Because they have been robbed, most of the unearthed items are porcelain for burial. There is almost no valuable gold and silver treasures left.

I have to admire Wu Zetian, a powerful woman.

The famous wordless stele of Li Zhi and Wu Zetian's mausoleum is located here. However, I am not satisfied with the overall facilities of the scenic spot because the cemetery has not been excavated. I am still a little disappointed after the visit.

By Chunni |

Not only can you get a glimpse of the tombs of Wu Zetian and Emperor Gaozong of Tang, but you can also learn about the ancient Feng Shui culture (provided there is a tour guide to explain, otherwise you won’t have such an experience), which is also helpful for the selection of current buildings and houses.

Qianling Mausoleum is still worth visiting, but the ticket price is a bit high, and the three scenic spots require a combined ticket.

There are words on the Wordless Monument? Didn't they say there were no words? Ancient people from all dynasties wrote words one by one!

Qianling Mausoleum is located in Qian County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province. It is still intact among the imperial mausoleums. It is also the only tomb where an emperor and his wife are buried together. Emperor Gaozong of Tang, Li Zhi, and Empress Wu Zetian were buried together, although their deaths were nearly 40 years apart. Walk through the long downward curve and then up the curved corridor. The Vermillion Bird is in front of you. These are obviously very new. Several parts of Emperor Gaozong's merit stele have been damaged, and it is said that it was written by Empress Wu Zetian. The wordless stele of Empress Wu Zetian is still there. As for historical figures, it is better not to talk about their merits and faults. Most of the heads of the stone men have been chopped off. Even without saying it, you know who did it... . . . . .

Qianling Mausoleum is the joint tomb of Emperor Gaozong of Tang and Empress Wu Zetian. The most famous is the stele without words. You can take the Tour 3 bus from the east side of Xi'an Railway Station Square at 8 am to reach the scenic area. The ticket is 30 for one way and 50 for round trip. Tour 3 is a tour company vehicle. There will be a tour guide on the bus. He will suggest that everyone buy tickets together (122 in peak season, 82 in off-season, which is a combined ticket), shuttle bus ticket (30) and explanation fee (20). The underground palace of Qianling Mausoleum Scenic Area has not been excavated. You can only see the whole mausoleum when you go there. It is a stone tomb built on the mountain. It is the main mausoleum of Wu Zetian. There is a stele without words here, but the main mausoleum is not open, so you can only see the stele without words. The scenery is pretty good.

It is the only royal tomb that has never been robbed. Take a look at Wu Zetian's inscriptionless stele.

Qianling Mausoleum is a unique mausoleum in the world where two emperors of different dynasties and a couple of emperors are buried together. It is the burial place of Emperor Gaozong Li Zhi, the third emperor of the Tang Dynasty, and Wu Zetian, the only female emperor in Chinese history. Before her death, Wu Zetian gave up her title of emperor and restored her status as empress. She was buried with Li Zhi in Qianling Mausoleum. Qianling Mausoleum was originally built by Wu Zetian for Li Zhi, and every detail shows Wu Zetian's love and respect for Li Zhi.
