The school is right at the foot of the city wall, so I go there quite often. After dinner, I go for a walk along the moat. The scenery is beautiful, the air is fresh, and the environment is nice. If you come to Xi'an for the first time and want to walk along the city wall, I suggest you go at night. The scenery and lights are beautiful at night. If you go there during the day, it's a waste of time. It's better to go to Qujiang Pond Ruins Park. Many places in Xi'an are suitable for going at night. There will be people singing at the South Gate around 11 o'clock.

Because I had a flight to leave at night, I went to the Xi'an City Wall at 10-12 o'clock. It was a pity that I didn't go up to see the night view, but I walked under the city wall the night before, which was very nice. The ticket to the city wall is 54 yuan, and you can enter the park again within one day by swiping your ID card. The Xi'an City Wall is very magnificent and well preserved. I went up from the South Gate. I originally wanted to walk around first and ride a bike when I was tired. As a result, I walked for a long time before I reached the next city gate... Dear friends, you must rent a bike first, even if you can push it, but walking for an hour under the scorching sun is really unbearable...

Almost all gates of the Xi'an Ancient City Wall can be accessed, and the ticket price is 54/person. However, if you want to ride a bicycle on the wall, it is recommended to go up the wall from the north and south gates. Find a bicycle service station, which is very large, and pay a deposit of 100, 45/single bike/3 hours, 90/double bike/3 hours. In fact, if two people play, it is recommended to take a double bike, which is more interesting. It is recommended to wear gloves. The quality of the bike is average, and the handlebars will rub your hands. If you walk, you must pay attention to the time. It will take a while to get off the wall. It took the two of us 1.5 hours to ride from the South Gate to the North Gate, riding 6.7 kilometers. The wall is really far.

The Xi'an City Wall is amazingly complete and remains magnificent after all the dynasties.

At dusk, you can rent a bicycle on the city wall. A two-person bicycle costs 90 yuan for three hours, with a deposit of 200 yuan. You can return the bicycle at any rental point.

Land at Wenchang Gate, and ride westward in a circle. You can see the beautiful sunset along the way, around 6 o'clock.

Really beautiful and romantic 💕

1. 700-year history of Xi'an City Wall.

Second, the government and Qujiang Cultural Industry Group have made a lot of investment and maintenance on the city wall, moat and ring park, which have become a beautiful landscape in Xi'an.

Third, the city wall is the biggest highlight of Xi'an tourism, especially the area from Yongning Gate to the southeast corner of the city, which is quaint and has a tree-lined park, pavilions, towers and winding paths.

By The brightest star in the night sky |

The city wall is still very magnificent. Standing at the bottom and looking at it online, it is really very high. I can't help but admire the ancient people, how they built this tall city wall. I bought the ticket on site. I just saw that it is more expensive than here. It costs 54 per person on site. So everyone should buy it in advance. It is very long. If you want to finish the tour, I suggest riding a bicycle, because the sightseeing car feels meaningless. However, riding a bicycle, the whole circle is nearly two hours, and the time is shorter if you have good physical strength. When riding a bicycle, you can stop and walk to see. There are rental points at the four gates of the southeast, northwest, and northeast. 45 per person can ride for three hours. It's just that some sections of the road are not flat, and the hands holding the handlebars will be very numb after the bumps. The total length is nearly 14 kilometers, and I can only say shocking if I am at a loss for words.

The city wall of Xi'an is 14 kilometers long and is the best-preserved city wall system in China. Visitors can visit it. Although Xi'an has been around for thousands of years, the current city wall was built in the early Ming Dynasty, and part of it contains relics from the Sui and Tang dynasties. There are buildings such as enemy towers, main towers, arrow towers, gate towers and corner towers on the city wall. There are 18 city gates, 4 of which are ancient relics, and the rest were rebuilt later.

The Xi'an City Wall is one of the most complete ancient city wall buildings in China. It is 13.7 kilometers long. Construction began in the third year of Hongwu (1370) during the reign of Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty and was completed in the eleventh year of Hongwu (1378).

At that time, Zhu Yuanzhang personally visited the scholar Zhu Sheng, who gave him the nine-character three-word training of "building high walls, storing up food, and delaying the claim to the throne". Zhu Yuanzhang adopted these suggestions and then proposed that "among all the mountains and rivers in the world, only the Qinzhong area is known to be the most dangerous and solid". Under this strategy, the Xi'an City Wall was rebuilt based on the Sui and Tang imperial cities. The city wall has four main gates: Changle Gate, Yongning Gate, Anding Gate, and Anyuan Gate. Since the Republic of China, dozens of new gates have been opened to facilitate access to the ancient city area. Now there are 18 gates in the Xi'an City Wall.

Like the Tang Paradise, the "Xi'an Year·Most Chinese" Lantern Festival is also being held here, dividing the huge city wall into several sections, including the Prosperity and Splendor Area, the Joy and Blessing Area, the Dream and Innocence Area, etc. We took the child with us to the Dream and Innocence Area, and accompanied her to find the colorful world on this thousand-year-old city wall and hug the adorable giant pandas.

The city wall is the soul of the city of Xi'an.

If you are going to Xi'an for the first time and want to visit the city wall and climb the city wall at the South Gate, the sightseeing bus is actually quite good. Riding a bike by yourself is tiring, and there is nothing special on the city wall. The sightseeing bus charges per stop, 120 yuan per person for the whole journey, 30 yuan per person per stop, and each of the four gates counts as one stop. There is no shade on the city wall, it is relatively flat. The first time I didn't understand that there was no sightseeing bus at the North Gate. Riding a bike was sunny and tiring, and there was no place to take pictures. I went to the East Gate to take a few photos and returned the car to take a sightseeing bus to the city wall under the South Gate. The bicycle is 45 yuan for a single person and 90 yuan for a double person. A deposit is required in cash.

By Go your own way |

I have to say that for tourists like us who come to Xi'an but don't have much time, it's really not necessary to go to the Xi'an City Wall. First, the city wall is very long and requires a lot of physical strength to walk. There are tall buildings outside the city wall, which is aesthetically tiring for those of us who have lived in cities for a long time. Second, except for the towers and arrow towers at the city gates, the city walls are all the same and very monotonous. The inside of the city wall is also a mix of modern atmosphere and antique buildings. The 54 yuan ticket price is not cost-effective. Hanguang Gate has the only museum in China with the theme of city walls, where you can feel the history of the changes in the city walls from the Tang Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty.

In the evening, we climbed up the Xi'an City Wall. This city wall, which is hundreds of years old, is so well preserved, which shows the wisdom of the ancient people. The 54 yuan ticket is really not expensive, not to mention the 100 yuan combined ticket with the Beilin Museum. Children don't have a combined ticket, but they can enjoy half the price! As the light gets darker, the lights on the city wall gradually light up. This is specially decorated for the Spring Festival! The whole lantern festival extends from the South Gate to the east and west sides, with all kinds of colorful lights, which are very beautiful! There are many bicycles on the side of the city wall. If it were normal, you could rent one. Riding on the city wall is also a kind of enjoyment! But don't think about it at this critical moment of the Spring Festival. What a pity! What a pity, now is the most beautiful time in Xi'an, with colorful lights everywhere, a city that never sleeps!

By karenluna |

During the holiday, I had already seen the Spring Festival Lantern Festival in Datang Furong Garden and Datang Everbright City, admired the beautiful high-tech colored lanterns, and felt the festive atmosphere of the people, so the Spring Festival Lantern Festival on the city wall was not in my initial plan. But when I passed by inadvertently, I was still attracted by the lights shining into the sky and the colorful lanterns.

After passing through the underground passage and arriving at the small square outside the south gate of the Xi'an city wall, the first thing that catches your eye is two giant traditional dancing lions. Each dancing lion is so vivid and very cute.

During the day, there is no hustle and bustle of the night. On the contrary, there is the quietness that should belong to the night.

Following the sign, we walked through the city wall and came to the top of the city wall. The various decorative ornaments we passed by were closely related to the festive and peaceful Spring Festival. If the lanterns at night are dreamy, then the lanterns during the day are real, but a little ordinary. To be honest, the lanterns we see during the day are indeed much less beautiful than when they are lit up at night. I can only regret why I didn't overcome my fatigue and climb the stairs last night, so that I could see their brilliance with my own eyes.

However, time is limited, so we might as well make the best of it. I am very lucky to come to Xi'an during the Spring Festival, to see the Xi'an city wall decorated so lively and to experience such fun.

The temperature in Xi'an did not rise in the winter because of the rising sun. On the contrary, I was already chilled by the whistling wind while walking on the city wall. But looking at the colorful lanterns in front of me, the strong festive atmosphere infected me and made me immersed in the joy of the festival.

The lanterns on the city wall can be said to be a combination of Chinese and Western styles. This year is the Year of the Pig, and various chubby and cute pigs are the theme of the lanterns, while those panda lanterns and lantern arches with Chinese characteristics are also indispensable in the lanterns. In addition, there are various Western foreign cultures in the Xi'an City Wall Lantern Festival, such as Disney Mickey Mouse, etc., which can really be said to satisfy the preferences of different groups of people as much as possible. It is said that the Xi'an City Wall Lantern Festival has actually gone abroad and come to New York. On the bustling streets of New York, it also shows the joyful, peaceful and festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year to foreign friends, allowing the world to see China's current prosperity and prosperity. I am really very proud of this.

If I have the chance to come here again during the Spring Festival, I will definitely go up the city wall to visit at night to see the sparks of the collision between modernity and the past, fashion and tradition.

I went there before my kids' winter vacation ended. I stayed at Xiangzimen. The boss said it was just a few steps away. Forgive my poor eyesight. I drove Mobike with the navigation system on for more than ten minutes. The cold wind was blowing. I took two bus stops and found that I was back to the starting point. I went around for an hour. The navigation system was a big problem. It was 17:00 when I got to the city wall. The lights were on. The guide said it was suitable for cycling. I believed it and went to the supermarket to buy two pairs of gloves. I looked around but didn't see any rental points. There were people and lights everywhere. Fortunately, I didn't rent a car. This weather was not suitable for cycling, otherwise I would have to take cold medicine when I got back. Because of the Lantern Festival, it was said that the entire Xi'an Lantern Festival this year cost several hundred million yuan to build. I really couldn't appreciate it. The wind on the city wall at night was so cold that it could make you doubt your life. I ended my trip to the city wall hastily and ate a bowl of mutton water basin to warm myself up.

As the most complete existing ancient city wall building in my country, the Xi'an Ancient City Wall is very famous and is one of the must-see attractions for tourists in Xi'an.

The ancient city wall of Xi'an is very long and is a paid attraction. It costs 54 yuan to go up the wall, and 27 yuan with a student ID. There is an additional charge for renting transportation on the wall. You can also see and experience the vicissitudes of the city wall for free below.

The ancient city wall of Xi'an is located in the downtown area of Xi'an and can be seen as soon as you exit Xi'an Station. There are four major city gates in the four directions of east, west, south and north, namely Changle Gate in the east, Xi'an Ding Gate in the west, Yongning Gate in the south and Anyuan Gate in the north. The four gates together represent "Chang'an Yong'an". Of course, there are also small gates that can be seen everywhere, such as Zhuque Gate, Zhongshan Gate and Shangde Gate.

The magnificent ancient city wall of Xi'an is a good witness to the long history of Xi'an, the ancient capital of 13 dynasties. The scenery on the city wall is spectacular and the view is wide during the day. The light show on the city wall at night is also colorful and dazzling!

Xi'an City Wall, also known as Xi'an Ming City Wall, is the largest and best-preserved ancient city wall in China. The broad sense of Xi'an City Wall includes the Tang City Wall and the Ming City Wall, but it generally refers to the narrow sense of Xi'an Ming City Wall. It is located in the central area of Xi'an. The wall is 12 meters high, 12-14 meters wide at the top, 15-18 meters wide at the bottom, and has a closed rectangular outline with a circumference of 13.74 kilometers. There are four main gates in the city wall: Changle Gate (East Gate), Yongning Gate (South Gate), Anding Gate (West Gate), and Anyuan Gate (North Gate). These four gates are also the original gates of the ancient city wall. In order to facilitate access to the ancient city area, many new gates were opened one after another. So far, there are 18 gates in the Xi'an City Wall.

By Meet again |

There are many small buildings and watchtowers on the city wall, one at a certain distance.

In fact, even if you walk around the city and visit all four gates, you will see the same scenery. But when you think that it came from such a long time ago, and we just happened to come here from thousands of miles away to see it in this lifetime, you will be happy and excited!

The road on the city wall is wide enough for horses and cars. If you have enough time, you can rent a bicycle to go around the city and visit all four gates. However, at this time, I was hungry, tired and exposed to the sun...

The little animals lined up on the eaves always bring a touch of cuteness to the solemn ancient buildings. Perhaps they were meant to represent guarding and killing? However, in peacetime, they are just playful and cute. Now the meaning of "Five Ridges and Six Beasts" is very interesting.

There is a moat outside the city wall, and on the other side of the moat are modern high-rise buildings. Probably the new city area.

Maybe those who have been in Xi'an for a long time will think that there is really nothing on the Xi'an City Wall, but for people like me who are visiting Xi'an for the first time, I still want to climb the city wall to take a look... At the very least, I want to experience what it felt like for ancient soldiers patrolling on the city wall, and how the soldiers managed to catch turtles in jars and defeat enemy soldiers on the city wall...

By Mr. Z's Miss C |

Tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket window of the attraction.

Renting a single or double bicycle on the city wall is the most recommended way to tour the city wall, but there seem to be some rules about what time to ride from which gate and in which direction. You can ride, walk, or half ride and half walk. Unfortunately, I didn't tour the city wall, so I don't have the right to speak here. I hope I can have the opportunity to ride a bicycle on the city wall again~

By Uncle Chen |

The green belt of the city wall ruins park from Hepingmen to Yongningmen is well planned by the Xi'an government. It also has sports fields (table tennis courts, badminton courts) where local citizens, especially middle-aged and elderly citizens, can exercise. It is very thoughtful and humane.

This time I hiked the entire 13.74 kilometers of the city wall, and I almost broke my feet because I didn't wear the most suitable shoes. I should have worn sports running shoes, but I ended up wearing a pair of boots. I felt my feet hurt halfway through the walk, so I had to limp slowly when I got down the city wall.

To climb the city wall, you need to go through the underground passage from the sidewalks on both sides to enter the large square of the scenic area, and then walk inside to reach the ticket office. This time I walked the city wall in a clockwise direction, following the flow of people.

There are many small bars, teahouses, restaurants, small fresh bookstores and other commercial stores inside the city wall. They are dimly lit at night and are suitable for a visit.

If you walk on the blue bricks carefully, you will find a dividing line between the old and new blue bricks. This is probably the comparison between before the Qing Dynasty and after the renovation in the Qing Dynasty.

It took me about 4 and a half hours to walk the entire length of the city wall, which was pretty good, including all the time for taking photos and resting due to uncomfortable shoes. The girl at the ticket gate said that the actual test was 4 hours, so the time for taking photos was probably not included.

The Xi'an City Wall is very long, so it's best to ride a bicycle. However, there are no bicycle rental points at every gate. We walked for a long time before we saw a bicycle rental point. Since I don't know how to ride a bicycle, I rented a double bicycle.

I rode and strolled to Yongdingmen. It was already dark and the lights on the city wall were very beautiful.

The lights are dim, it's really beautiful

The fountain in front of the city gate is even more beautiful when it sprays. On the way to the subway station, I couldn't help but look back. Chang'an is so beautiful. I can't see enough.

By Perfume |

The city wall has been repaired, and there are words engraved on the floor tiles of the wall, showing the origin and age of the bricks. It also continues the old system and facilitates acceptance and accountability.

The original residential buildings of Guanzhong are preserved within the city wall.

The row of old houses along the city wall have now been transformed into restaurants, a bar street, and homestays.

Starting from Hanguang Gate, the 32nd "Tang Capital Shangyuan City That Never Sleeps" Xi'an City Wall Spring Festival Lantern Festival is being arranged on the city wall.

The photos taken during the day are not very good. The Lantern Festival officially started on January 28th and lasted until March 10th. When I went there, it was exactly one week before the start of the Lantern Festival, so I missed it.

By Pinxi13 |

I just want to ride around the city wall. Compared to standing on the city wall to see the scenery, I prefer to look up at it at the foot of the city and feel its history up close. I don't want to miss it at all. Although it is more comfortable to ride in the afternoon when there is sunshine, it is not worth it at this time. You have to be decisive. It turns out that riding at night is a better choice. First, there are fewer cars and people on the road, which is safer; second, you can experience Chang'an at night in all directions, with thousands of lights, so lively. We started from Yongning Gate and rode clockwise around the wall inside the city wall, silently cheering for ourselves. The sky in the evening was purple-red, and the orange lights on the roadside cast our shadows and the shadows of the trees on the city wall, which looked like a painting. The city wall exuded solemnity at night, and I seemed to feel her loneliness, which seemed to be more mysterious and profound than other cities. But he didn't seem to want to be like this. He would suddenly show up at a crowded train station, a magnificent city gate, and even a magnificent high-end villa area. It seems that he is still very tolerant. After more than two hours of riding, this night ride took about 2 hours, because we stopped and walked, took beautiful photos, and looked at the scenery. We were not in a hurry at all and were in a very leisurely mood. In this sub-zero temperature, we kept riding forward, looking at the white mist we exhaled while chatting. This feeling was very natural and real.

Only when you walk up the city wall will you realize how big it is!

There are three ways to visit the city wall:

1. Walking

2. Rent a bicycle

3. Tour bus

As slum girls, only the first option suits our wallets, so let's just take a walk after dinner.

The floor tiles of the city wall are full of historical traces.

When we were about halfway to the next gate, we found an exhibition hall (the small arch in the upper left corner of the picture above). We decided to go there today to have a look.

After strolling and taking photos along the way, we finally arrived at the next gate - Anding Gate

By little baby |

The city wall of Xi'an is well-preserved and can actually be connected in a circle. The lanterns on the city wall are made in the shape of envoys, as if you could be a minister who held the envoy hundreds of years ago.

You can rent bicycles on the city wall, and there are many foreign tourists. Under the scorching sun, we touched the hot cushions of the bicycles and gave up the idea of renting a bicycle and decided to walk directly.

However, it turned out that it was very difficult to walk the city wall under the scorching sun. We went from being full of ambition to walk around the city wall when we first climbed it, to being shocked to find that we had not even walked 1/8 of the way after walking for half an hour, to being desperate to find that the next exit could only be at the 1/4 position.

Most of the bricks in the city are engraved with names, which seem to be left behind during the reconstruction. It is just unknown whether they are the protectors of the old bricks or the makers of the new bricks.

Standing on the city wall and looking down, you can see an endless stream of cars on the central axis, and the clock tower in the distance still stands in the center of the city.

By Trembling little hands |

The city wall is very long, and it is said that the whole wall is 13.7 kilometers. We walked a lot that day, and we didn't finish it, so we went down directly. In fact, it is very good to have the conditions to finish it. It is strongly recommended to ride a bicycle to play, which will not be too tiring, and you can also see the whole city wall. The ticket is not expensive, and it is really great to see one of the few relatively complete city walls in the country. Standing on the city wall, overlooking everything in the city, it feels great.

By On the Road |

We took the subway to Yongning Gate. We chose this place because it is accessible by subway, and this is the main gate of the entire Ming City Wall. There is a moat in front of the gate! After walking across the moat, we followed the instructions on the ground to climb the city wall and looked at the lantern corridor arranged by the staff. It was indeed full of the flavor of the New Year. Unfortunately, it was not dark yet and the lanterns were not lit yet, otherwise it would be like entering Chang'an. Walking and walking, we came to the first place to rent bicycles. We thought it would be better to take a walk so that we could get more contact with this place where many stories happened. But when we walked for thirty or forty minutes and didn't see the door to go down, we regretted not renting bicycles. Because of the cold weather in the off-season, there were only twos and threes on the city wall, and many small gates were not open. Only the four larger city gates were open. The hesitation made us miss the first rental point. When we arrived at the second rental point, we rented a double bicycle without hesitation. The two of us pedaled together and finally relaxed a little. Only then did we realize that the city wall at night was also very beautiful. The staff arranged many colored lights on the city wall to outline the outline of the city wall. There are car return points near the four major city gates, and you can choose any one according to your own arrangements. It seems that we overestimated ourselves and did not insist on visiting all the city walls. We only walked three quarters of the way and then went down the city wall from the west gate.

By Heart of the Ocean |

It takes about an hour and a half to ride along the city wall, and there is a place on the city wall where you can rent mountain bikes.

Yes, that's right, it's a mountain bike, because the bricks and stones of the city wall are rugged and uneven, so riding a mountain bike is more labor-saving. I read other guides that it is more suitable to go up from the north gate and down from the south gate, so we went the other way, and we were exhausted after riding. There are places to return the bikes at all four gates, but you have to return to the south gate after 19:00, so you have to arrange your time carefully. The advantage of traveling in the off-season is that you don't have to look for the best view among thousands of people. We went around the city wall forcibly, which was really tiring.

We were misled and went to Ximenkou by mistake. There were very few people at Ximen, and it didn't look like a classic attraction in a popular tourist city during holidays.

Cycling in the ancient city is a must-experience for most tourists. Bicycles can be rented at several gates on the city wall.

After taking photos from the West Gate, I walked all the way to the South Gate, which was about 3 to 4 kilometers. The distance was not too far, and it would feel colder if I rode a bike, so I chose to walk. There was actually nothing special worth taking pictures of along the way, and the ticket to climb the city wall was still not cheap.

The scenery is being built near the South Gate, probably to welcome the New Year. It will definitely be a lively scene by then...

The South Gate is much more lively than the West Gate.

We walked through the crowd with Ding Ding and climbed the stairs. On both sides of the city wall, which was wide enough for horses and carriages to pass, there were towering battlements on the left and low parapets on the right. The inside and outside of the city were clearly visible. The gatehouse on Yongning Gate was under maintenance, so we strolled along the city wall.

The sunset in the haze was dim and yellow. Through the high battlements, you could see the moat flowing slowly outside the wall. The turbid afterglow of the sunset was wandering on the simple and condensed bricks and stones. Tourists on the wall were smiling and walking back and forth. Even in the off-season in winter, the crowds were still surging during holidays. Because I brought Ding Ding with me, I missed the opportunity to experience the activity of cycling on the city wall.

Outside the low parapet, the busy streets are also full of traffic. The city is spreading out before our eyes, with tall buildings lined up one after another, concrete forests stretching endlessly, and dead branches, withered leaves, withered grass, and cold smoke are all shrouded in mist and haze in the distance, making them difficult to see clearly.

An orange-red setting sun was hanging obliquely above the strong gate wall, and a sentence popped into my mind: "At sunset, on the top of the building, in the sound of the broken wild geese, no one would understand my intention to climb up."

The current Xi'an city and city wall were rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty and expanded slightly to the east on the old site of the Tang Dynasty. Therefore, the bell tower and drum tower in the city are staggered. The drum tower remained in its original position in the Tang Dynasty, which was the central axis of Xi'an during the Tang Dynasty. The bell tower was moved to its current position and became one of the landmarks of Xi'an. It is now the central axis of Xi'an city.

Morning bells and evening drums, the lady said that the big bell in the bell tower could not be rung since the bell tower was moved to a new location, so a new one was made according to the original one. The original bell is now collected in the Beilin Museum. I said that I didn’t notice it after visiting the Beilin Museum twice. . .

It is a very happy thing that the history of a city is intertwined, inherited and integrated with each other.

It is a rare and fortunate thing that the city walls of an ancient capital can be preserved intact.

Outside the city wall is a ring-shaped park with green trees and flowing streams.

It is a bit regrettable that the moat of Xi'an city has not yet been completely managed, and boat tours are not yet available. The management of the sewage drainage system in the old city is an extremely difficult problem.

The whole circuit of the Xi'an City Wall is probably more than 20 kilometers long. Fortunately, I did not choose to walk. It took more than two hours to take the battery car to tour.

By Geerle picture |

The two previous visits to the city wall were during the day, and I just passed by at night, and I had never really seen the night view of the city wall. This time on the way back from Dahua, I decided to get off here and experience the city wall under the night again.

The ticket price is the same at night and during the day, but there are no bicycles for rent on the city wall at night, so you can only go on a rampage mode.

Because when I went there, the city wall was being decorated with colorful lanterns for the Spring Festival, so there were fences near the wall and I couldn't get close. I originally wanted to take some pictures of the night view of South Street and the bell tower, but I was ruthlessly rejected by the security guard.

After coming down from the city wall and exiting from the south, you can take a "ID photo" of the front of Yongning Gate!

Because I didn't bring a tripod this time, it was difficult to take long exposure photos of night scenes. After coming out of Yongning Gate, I suddenly found that the guardrail on the side of the road could be used as a temporary tripod. Hahaha, I took this photo of the light trail decisively. However, because the railing was not very stable and the exposure was not very long, the final effect was not very good.

The Xi'an City Wall was built in the third year of Hongwu (1370) during the reign of Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty. It was built on the basis of the imperial cities of the Sui and Tang dynasties under the policy of Zhu Yuanzhang to "build high walls, store grain and delay claiming the throne". Changle Gate (East Gate), Yongning Gate (South Gate), Anding Gate (West Gate) and Anyuan Gate (North Gate) were the original gates of the ancient city wall. Since the Republic of China, many new gates have been opened to facilitate access to the ancient city area. So far, there are 18 gates in the Xi'an City Wall. The wall is 12 meters high, 12-14 meters wide at the top, 15-18 meters wide at the bottom, 13.74 kilometers in circumference, and the ancient city area covers an area of 11.32 square kilometers.

Climbing up the city wall from Yongning Gate, the roofs of the ancient city seem to be the same as they were thousands of years ago. There are no flowers around the windows, no painted buildings and carved beams, but they are magnificent and solemn, simple and beautiful. The distance in the eyes of the people on the wall is full of poetry and dreams.

By Nine o'clock |

At first I thought the city wall would be very special, but it is actually just a renovated ancient brick wall, nothing special, and the scenery is just an ordinary street scene. After looking at the map, I realized that the central urban area of Xi'an is actually surrounded by these thick city walls, and going up to the city wall means walking to enjoy the street scene, but the road around the city wall is very long, about 13 kilometers, so if you don't mind walking, there are bicycles for rent. The price of a bicycle for one person is 45 for three hours with a deposit of 100. I rode around the city wall in an hour and a half, so there was more than enough time.

Among the four city gates, only Andingmen (West Gate) does not have a main building. Anyuanmen (North Gate) is known as the first gate. Changlemen (East Gate) has a small museum in the main building. There is not much there, but it is worth a look.

Tips: It is very cold and windy on the city wall in winter, so keep warm before riding a bike and be sure to wear gloves.

The city wall ticket is 54 and students can enjoy half price.

By Xiaomin |

You need to walk to Changle Gate to find a car rental point, and enjoy the scenery while walking. Most of the wall tiles are engraved with years and names, and I saw many bricks with relatively old years.

Some people even take wedding photos on the city wall. This may be their hometown, the place where they met, or the place where their love began. In short, it has a special meaning to them.

Renting a car is also very simple, 45 yuan per car, with a deposit of 100 yuan. Although the deposit is paid at Changle Gate, no matter where I get off the city wall, I can get the deposit back as long as I find the nearest car rental point.

Remember to pay attention to the time. It seems that you are not allowed to go up after 6 o'clock. You can only go down the city wall.

So pay attention to the time, go to the ancient city wall at around 5 o'clock, and then you can play there until dark.

There are many gates in the ancient city wall that you can go up and down. If you want to visit the ancient city wall, it is recommended to ride a bicycle

There are bicycle rentals on the ancient city wall. I don't know how much it costs, because it's super cold in winter, and riding a bicycle is even colder. Riding a bicycle in summer should be very cool.

In fact, there are night views of city walls in many places. I don’t know why I think the night view of the ancient city wall in Xi’an is very beautiful.

It looks nothing during the day, but with the lights at night, it feels like returning to ancient times.

Super beautiful, the photo can't capture the effect

I stayed in Xi'an for a few days, and walked under the city wall every day. I also looked at pictures and guides, and knew that going up the city wall was just so-so. But the Xi'an city wall was so famous that there was no reason not to go. I had to go up even if I risked "I would regret it if I didn't go, and I would regret it even more if I did", just to clock in. After I got up, a large part of it was closed for decoration and lighting to welcome the New Year, but it didn't matter anyway, so I went up to clock in and ran to the exit.

By WilliamLiu |

The infrastructure and urban construction of Xi'an are really poor, which is incomparable to Chengdu and Chongqing. Moreover, the tickets to the scenic spots are expensive, 30 yuan for the Bell Tower and 30 yuan for the Drum Tower. Just go upstairs and take a look. There is nothing in the Xi'an City Wall, and the ticket is 54 yuan... There are only a few pits of Terracotta Warriors, and the ticket is 120 yuan. The food in Muslim Street tastes okay, but the price is a bit expensive, and the cost performance is too poor... This ancient capital can't be compared with the Forbidden City! As for the night view? Chongqing and Shanghai smiled and said nothing! In one sentence: Come with excitement, leave disappointed! I cancelled the hotel and changed the high-speed rail ticket that day. If conditions permit, I can't wait to fly back to Chengdu tonight...

By Xiao Jiang in Weizhou Island |

The ticket for the ancient city wall is 54 yuan per ticket. After buying the ticket, go straight to the city wall to experience the ancient city wall that has experienced thirteen dynasties.

When you come to Xi'an, you must step onto this ancient city wall building. The blue brick and gray walls tell a vicissitudes of history. The modern fashion around it sets off the classical history of the city wall. Walking on the ancient city wall, it feels like traveling back to ancient China.

You can rent bicycles on the city wall. Along the way, there are many people riding on the ancient city wall in the cold wind.

But this time we chose to hike and measure its history with our feet!

We walked from the East Gate to the South Gate. The entire ancient city wall had similar scenery, so we decided to go down from the South Gate after walking a quarter of the way.

#Xi'an City Wall#

For those who have just come to Xi'an, they are fascinated by this city with rich history and culture, especially its city wall.

The Xi'an City Wall is located in the city center. It is also the largest and best-preserved ancient city wall in China. Unfortunately, it was already night when we arrived. The city wall during the day should have a different flavor. The night view of the city wall will produce different beauty with the change of lights. That night, we also saw a large lantern similar to a Kongming lantern flying up. It was very beautiful. The night view of the city wall can only be felt by walking there in person to feel its beauty and sense of history.

By Devil Lucy |

Due to the tight schedule, I came here twice. The first time, I didn't climb the city wall. I just took photos under the city. This time, I must climb the city wall to take a look. However, in the hot summer, it is really time-consuming and laborious to go around the city. The good thing is that the city wall tickets are 50% off at the time. The original price is 60 yuan. If it really costs 60 yuan, I may have to give up the idea of climbing the city wall.

Entering the city wall, the structure is much more complicated than I imagined, with three layers inside and three layers outside, but it is also full of holes and cracks everywhere, perhaps from the previous hail of bullets, or from the later wind and rain. In short, it represents a period of history. There are many places to rest on the city wall, such as the gate tower, arrow tower, main tower, etc., but most of the doors are closed, but it is not exhibition time.

The construction of the external buildings and the city walls is seamlessly integrated, giving people the illusion of traveling through time.

By Mo Xiaomi |

Personally, I think it is not necessary to buy tickets online in the off-season. It is very convenient to scan the code on site and buy it for 54 yuan (you can go in twice a day). Student ID is half price, and there are free tickets for the elderly, but it is a pity that there are no performances in winter because it is too cold. But the moment you climb up the city wall, you will feel it is worth it. The city wall is a total of 14 kilometers. It is not easy to walk a circle. It is best to rent a bicycle upstairs. There are two-person and single-person bicycles. One person is 45 yuan/3 hours, and a double spray is 90 yuan/3 hours. The deposit is 100 yuan in the off-season. It must be returned before 8:50 in the evening, otherwise the deposit cannot be returned. Cycling is still very interesting, but don't go too fast, otherwise your lower body can't stand it. It is recommended to go in when it is a little bright in the evening and ride until the lights are on at night. It is very spectacular to look down from above.

By cdehui |

We went to the ticket office of the ancient city wall. After discount, the price was 54 yuan for adults and 27 yuan for children. There were a lot fewer tourists.

Walking on the broad ancient city wall, one can't help but sigh at how many skilled craftsmen and how much manpower and material resources were needed to build such a magnificent fortification during the Ming Dynasty. However, one also has to admire the quality of the Ming Dynasty project, which is still well preserved after more than 600 years of wind and rain.

On the 15-meter-wide city wall, you can take a battery car, ride a bicycle or walk to visit. We rented a double bicycle (90 yuan/100 minutes, deposit 300 yuan), and took the two children to ride and walk on the city wall. When one child rode, the other child ran, walked, stopped, and took pictures. It was endless fun.

I wanted to watch the sunset on the city wall, so I walked to the nearest gate to the city wall. I forgot which gate it was, but it was quite small. From this gate, you can pass by the Academy Gate and the Forest of Steles Museum. Walk around and take some photos. When it gets dark, I check in at the South Gate to take some photos of the night view of the city wall, and then go down from the South Gate. Watching the sunset on the city wall feels really different, and it is a completely different mood from being at the beach. Forgive my poor language.

By North City Boy |

We chose to walk from the South Gate to the East Gate, which is about 2.5 kilometers. If you want to get closer to the Xi'an City Wall, you can choose to walk half a circle or rent a bicycle.

As it gets dark, the scenery is very beautiful.

The city wall is more than 13 kilometers long and it takes about 2 hours to ride normally. You can choose the tour time according to your own situation.

The changes in the Xi'an City Wall represent the image of Xi'an to some extent. It has a long history and magnificent momentum. In recent years, the construction of various parks around the city has improved its beauty a lot. It is a good place for fitness in the city. ✨ ︵

Climbing up the city wall, it seems like a time travel. The unique ingenuity and beauty of ancient architecture come to life. I don't know which dynasty I am in. We chose to rent two single bicycles to experience the charm of the city wall. As we rode, we saw the magnificence of the city wall and had to admire the wisdom and power of the ancient people. On the city wall, it seemed as if the soldiers were resisting the enemy. The soldiers set up a dragnet on the city wall to protect the people inside the city wall. The Xi'an City Wall has witnessed the rise and fall of the ancient city for thousands of years, and its rich historical accumulation.

The lights were on, and the red lanterns on both sides of the city wall made people's heart beat. Xi'an at night was even colder. We rode from Andingmen (West Gate) to Yongningmen (South Gate). When we got to Yongningmen, there was a pedestrian street in front of the city wall, so we couldn't ride in. So we could only return the bike or park it temporarily. We thought it was still early, so we wanted to continue riding around the city wall.

After 7pm, you can only return the bike at Yongning Gate (South Gate). We just passed Anding Gate (West Gate) and thought it would be quick to go around the city wall. However, we underestimated the city wall and overestimated ourselves. As the night deepened, there were fewer and fewer people on the city wall. There were bright lights and busy traffic under the city wall. There were bursts of noise in the air. As we looked at the endless city wall, we suddenly felt desperate. The more we rode, the more tired we became. But we could only move forward in despair. We could only look at the plums and quench our thirst, cheer each other up and say that we would soon reach the return point. It seemed like we had been riding the bike for a century. Finally, we finished riding a circle around the city wall and returned the bike at the designated point of Yongning Gate. Well, we estimated that we rode about 20km around the city wall. Even the staff at the bicycle station said we were awesome and gave us a thumbs up...

By Small dish travel story |

I rode my bike all the way from the Xi'an Museum to the South Gate. It took me about 30 minutes to wander around. Because I stayed in the museum for too long, it was already evening when I arrived at the South Gate. My original plan was to ride around the city wall, but unfortunately it was already late. After hesitating for a while, I decided to just walk around the city wall.

In the past, the inside and outside of the wall here were two different worlds. Even now, it seems to still have this characteristic. Standing in front of Yongning Gate, behind you is the ancient Xi'an city wall, and in front of you are the brightly lit modern star-rated hotels and shopping centers.

Transportation: There are multiple gates in the city wall. It is recommended to enter from the south gate Yongning Gate

Tickets: 54 yuan for adults, half price for students, 38 yuan for China-TravelNote booking one day in advance; renting a car on the city wall 45 yuan per person

Opening hours: The opening hours of several gates are different. Yongning Gate is 8:00-22:00, and the others are 8:00-18:00

After 18:00, you can only go down the ancient city wall but not up. We went to the South Gate (Yongning Gate), bought tickets at the ticket office, and went up the city wall directly. I especially liked the big red lanterns at the entrance to the city, which really confirmed the saying, "At night, Xi'an becomes Chang'an". The red lanterns and the dazzling towers immediately made people feel like they had traveled to Chang'an. We didn't walk the entire city wall. I heard that it takes 14 kilometers to walk around the city wall. It's best to rent a bicycle to ride on the city wall.

By Mr Lee |

It is recommended to rent a bicycle, which requires cash and extra money for overtime. There are also battery cars, you can choose by yourself. We went up the building from the South Gate Yongning Gate, passed the West Gate and North Gate to the East Gate and went downstairs, and then walked two steps to Yongxingfang. It is recommended to go up the building during the day, and it is suitable for viewing from a distance at night, and you will feel like traveling through time in a second. If you don’t have that much physical strength, it is recommended to rent a car, and you won’t feel tired even if you stop and go.

By Small Flower |

The first step is to rent a bicycle, ¥45 for one person, 2 hours, deposit ¥200. The bicycles are harder to ride than expected, dirty, they are all racing bicycles, not women's bicycles, and the ground of the ancient city wall is bumpy. You can get around the first and second potholes, but you can't get around the countless remaining potholes. My butt and arms hurt from the bumps. I rode for a while, looked around, took pictures, and walked around.

When I first arrived in Xi'an, I saw the city wall with blue bricks, gray tiles and big red lanterns hanging high, and I was filled with admiration for this ancient capital. When I really climbed the city wall and took a ride around the wide city wall, the sound of the guqin floated above the city wall, and I felt the texture of the bricks and stones, as if I could read the soul of the city. The past glorious years were separated by a wall, and a flower bloomed. The ancient and the present were on different sides, as if I had traveled back to ancient times. For 1,500 years, this long and prosperous era is waiting for me to visit.

Xi'an City Wall, also known as Xi'an Ming City Wall, is the largest and best-preserved ancient city wall in China. There are 18 gates in Xi'an City Wall, starting from Yongning Gate and going clockwise: Yongning Gate, Zhuque Gate, Wumu Gate, Hanguang Gate, Anding Gate, Yuxiang Gate, Shangwu Gate, Anyuan Gate, Shangde Gate, Jiefang Gate, Shangjian Gate, Shangqin Gate, Chaoyang Gate, Zhongshan Gate, Changle Gate, Jianguo Gate, Heping Gate, Wenchang Gate. The 18 gates were built at different times and have different specifications.

The quaint historical charm is worth a visit.

The full price ticket for the city wall is 54 yuan per person. We climbed the city wall from Yongning Gate (South Gate) and walked all the way to Anding Gate (West Gate), which took 1 hour. We thought we would find a rental point after walking for a while, but it turned out that there were only places to rent bicycles at the four gates of east, south, west and north. We missed the rental point at the South Gate and had to walk to the West Gate to rent a bicycle. My friend and I rented a double bicycle, with a deposit of 100 yuan (cash) + 90 yuan/three hours. There are relatively more tourists at the South Gate, and the fewer people ride as you go north, so you can ride your bicycle freely.

By Hu Entai |

From the south gate, you can go east or west and return to the starting point as long as you have enough energy. The total length is 13.7km. You can also rent bicycles. It seems that foreigners like this way very much. Almost all the foreigners I saw that day were riding bicycles. Of course, there are also battery sightseeing cars. You can sit in the car and listen to the explanation while touring the city wall, which is much more comfortable.

Before entering the Xi'an City Wall Scenic Area, you must register with your real name through the "Meet the City Wall Treasure Box" WeChat applet to purchase tickets (54 yuan/person, only for the day). After successfully purchasing the ticket, enter with the ticket QR code. The total length of the Xi'an City Wall is more than 13 kilometers, and you can rent bicycles on the wall for cycling and sightseeing. There are 8 climbing points on the Xi'an City Wall, namely the East Gate, South Gate, West Gate, North Gate, Heping Gate, Wenchang Gate, Hanguang Gate, and Shangde Gate. You can choose the nearest one. The South Gate (Yongning Gate) is open the longest every day. Most tourists choose to climb the city here. After climbing the city, walk east to Wenchang Gate. The Xi'an Forest of Steles Museum is near Wenchang Gate.

The Xi'an City Wall is the largest and best-preserved ancient city wall in China.

The existing city wall was built in the Ming Dynasty, with a total length of 13.7 kilometers. It was built in the third year of Hongwu (1370) and completed in the eleventh year of Hongwu (1378). It was built on the basis of the imperial cities of Sui and Tang dynasties under the guidance of the policy of "building high walls, storing grain, and delaying the title of king" of Ming Taizu. At that time, it was the prefectural city of Xi'an. Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang canonized his second son Zhu Chong as the King of Qin, and the vassal and the prefectural government were in the same city, so the city was large and solid. In addition, it was repeatedly repaired and expanded in the Ming and Qing dynasties, and it has been well preserved to this day.

In early 2004, the construction of the Hanguang Gate section of the city wall road project in Xi'an was underway. The Shaanxi Ancient Architecture Design Institute (now the Shaanxi Cultural Heritage Research Institute) was commissioned by relevant departments to carry out an archaeological survey of the exposed section of the city wall. It was determined that the wall had a complex structure and was built after five major renovations from the Sui and Tang Dynasties to the present.

The city wall of Xi'an has a long history and has gone through several dynasties. Of course, the ones that are preserved now are those that have been repaired after the liberation. The width of the city wall is very wide. From the top of the city wall, it is about 20 meters wide. How much manpower and material resources were needed to build such a huge project in ancient times without mechanical equipment? The earthy and yellow color of the city wall is the color of Xi'an.

It was after the rain when I went up, so the weather was not hot and cool. In the evening, it was very far to walk between the gates. Many foreign tourists ran and rode bicycles on them. The electric bus was 20 yuan per station. The most lively one was Yongning Gate. It was recommended to go up from the East Gate or other gates. It was better to use an electric car or bicycle. It took 1 hour to walk between the gates. The night view was very good at night, so it was recommended to go in the evening to watch the sunset.

In ancient China, there were strict "ritual" standards for the scale of buildings. The capital city was 9 li square, the capitals of princes or later prefectures and counties were 7 li square, the second largest were 5 li square, and the county city was generally 3 li square. The city wall of Xi'an is 12 meters high, 15-18 meters thick at the bottom, 12-14 meters wide at the top, 4.2 kilometers long from east to west, 2.65 kilometers long from north to south, and 13.74 kilometers long in total, which is exactly in line with this "ritual" level.

I like this place very much. It is a landmark attraction. When you climb the city wall, you will be shocked by the craftsmanship of the ancient people. How did they complete such a huge project with their extraordinary wisdom? The city wall is very large and it is difficult to walk down. It is recommended to walk a short distance and then ride a bicycle to enjoy the wind and the scenery. It is very beautiful. You can see Xi'an city on the city wall. The perfect fusion of ancient and modern.

As soon as you get out of the train station, you will see the city wall that represents history. The shock of the interweaving of modern and ancient times is not found in any other city in China, or even in the world. Walking in any place on the ancient city wall will make you return to the Tang Dynasty. The clear feeling flowing from the bottom of your heart is particularly profound after seeing the ancient city gate.

Xi'an has a long history and rich cultural heritage. It was once a prosperous ancient country, where our ancestors lived, where the older generation of revolutionaries fought, a land of fish and rice with fragrant dates, and the land of China where our mother river flows. It is our cultural yearning for many years. There are the Qin, Huang, and Han dynasties, there are the Tang emperors, there are the miraculous soldiers, there is the Begonia bathing room where the imperial concubine took a bath. There is the roaring Hukou Waterfall of the Yellow River, there is the Yan'an pagoda where the leaders fought, and there is the hope of the new China ignited by the predecessors.

The Xi'an Ancient City Wall should be listed as a first-class recommendation for traveling to Xi'an along with the Terracotta Warriors, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and Shaanxi History Museum! It is recommended to go to the ancient city wall in the afternoon, so as to avoid the sunniest time at noon, and also to enjoy the sunset and night view from it. You can rent a bicycle to ride on it, or just walk around. If you want to enjoy the night view, please note that only the South Gate is open at night, and the other gates close early, so you can only go down the city wall from the South Gate.

When you come to Xi'an, the city wall is a must-see.

The Xi'an City Wall was built from the seventh to the eleventh year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty. It was expanded on the basis of the imperial city of Chang'an City in the Tang Dynasty and the Fengyuan City in the Yuan Dynasty. The wall is 12 meters high, 18 meters wide at the bottom and 15 meters wide at the top. The east wall is 2590 meters long, the west wall is 2631.2 meters long, the south wall is 3441.6 meters long, and the north wall is 3241 meters long. The total circumference is 11.9 kilometers, so the Xi'an City is rectangular in shape. The Xi'an City Wall includes a series of military facilities such as moats, suspension bridges, gatehouses, arrow towers, main towers, corner towers, enemy towers, parapets, and crenels. The four gates in the east, west, south, and north are named "Changle", "Anding", "Yongning", and "Anyuan" respectively.

Yongning Gate (South Gate) was first built in the early Sui Dynasty and has a history of more than 1,400 years. It is the most completely restored gate of the Xi'an City Wall. The gate tower on the top of Yongning Gate. From Yongning Gate to the west, there are Zhuque Gate, Wumu Gate and Hanguang Gate. Wumu Gate, commonly known as Xiaonanmen, was built in 1926 to commemorate the revolutionary martyr Jing Wumu in the Revolution of 1911 in Shaanxi. It is located between Hanguang Gate and Zhuque Gate on Huancheng South Road in the south city wall of Xi'an. From the gate, it goes north through Sifu Street and Liuli Street to Xida Street. One stop east is the bell tower in the center of the city. It can be said to be the administrative center of the old city of Xi'an and the only way to connect the traffic inside and outside the city wall. Zhuque Gate is the south gate of the Tang Chang'an Imperial City. It is located between Wumu Gate and Yongning Gate, spanning Zhuque Street, connecting the inside and outside of the ancient city. It was built in the early Sui Dynasty and was closed during the reconstruction of Chang'an City in the late Tang Dynasty. In 1986, Zhuque Gate was reopened. Hanguang Gate is the west gate on the south side of the imperial city of Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty. It has a history of more than 1,400 years and is an important node of the Silk Road in Chang'an. To the northwest of Hanguang Gate in the Sui and Tang Dynasties is the Sheji Altar of Chang'an in the Sui and Tang Dynasties. The Sheji Altar is also called Dashe and Taishe. It is the altar where emperors of all dynasties worshipped the gods of earth and grain. It is the symbol and nickname of the dynasty.

We stayed near the bell tower so we chose to walk to the city wall. It was very cool that day. I heard it had just rained, so riding a yellow bike was also a good choice~ There is a combined ticket for the city wall and the Forest of Steles. We bought it directly at the tourist information center for 100 yuan per person. The combined ticket requires visiting the other attraction within 2 days, so we have to go to the Forest of Steles tomorrow~

The city wall is very large, and you can choose to rent a bicycle 🚲 or a tour bus 🚗. Because we went there on the weekend, there was a long queue for rental, and the tour bus cost 120 yuan per person. There were many of us, so we finally asked everyone for their opinion and decided to walk~ There are performances everywhere in Xi'an's attractions, and there was also a performance of "Dream of Chang'an" inside the city wall, but we had to buy tickets separately and we didn't watch it.

The Xi'an City Wall is the largest and best-preserved ancient Chinese city wall. Through the Xi'an City Wall, you can see the most detailed and authentic ancient city defense system, including a series of military facilities such as moats, drawbridges, gatehouses, arrow towers, main towers, corner towers, enemy towers, parapets, crenels, etc.

Rent a bicycle and ride along the city wall in the middle of the night, neither too cold nor too hot, while waiting for the sunset and the lights to come on, which is a unique view.

City wall ticket: 54 yuan

Bicycle: 45 yuan

You can go to the Beilin Museum first, then go up the city wall to Zhongshan Gate, and the lower city wall is Yongxingfang.

If you have time, it is necessary to go and have fun. You can rent a bicycle and go around the old town. However, riding a bicycle on the city wall is very bumpy, so if you mind, you'd better walk.

The Xi'an City Wall was built during the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty. Its scale is much smaller than that of the prosperous Tang Dynasty, which is about one-fourth of Chang'an City. The Xi'an City Wall is rectangular, with a circumference of nearly 14 kilometers. There were originally four city gates: Changle Gate (East Gate), Yongning Gate (South Gate), Anding Gate (West Gate), and Anyuan Gate (North Gate). Since the Republic of China, many new city gates have been opened to facilitate access to the ancient city area. So far, there are 18 city gates in the Xi'an City Wall. We started from Yongning Gate, went counterclockwise, and returned to Yongning Gate. It took us about two and a half hours.

The ticket to the city wall is 54 yuan, and the combined ticket with the Forest of Steles is 100 yuan. It costs 45 yuan to rent a bicycle for three hours, with a deposit of 100 yuan per bicycle, and you can return the bicycle at any rental point on the city wall.

The largest and best-preserved ancient city in China. You can usually get on the city wall from the South Gate Yongning Gate. You can walk or rent a bicycle to visit the city wall. If you walk, go to the East Gate or West Gate. You don't have to walk the whole way. The Xi'an City Wall is too big. It takes more than 2 hours to ride a bicycle around the city wall. A single bicycle costs 45 yuan/3 hours, and a double bicycle costs 90 yuan/3 hours, with a minimum rental of 3 hours.

As the best-preserved ancient city wall, the status of Xi'an Ancient City Wall should be second only to the Terracotta Warriors.

The ancient blue bricks have witnessed the ancient capital's thousands of years of disputes, battles, changes in the world, and rise and fall.

From the South Gate (Yongning Gate), we climbed up the ancient city wall covered with blue bricks and rented a special wide-tire mountain bike for riding.

The return time at each gate is 20:00, which is extended in summer.

What a huge cultural treasure it is that the city wall of an ancient capital can be preserved intact. Beijing also had city gates and city walls, but they were demolished in the 1950s because they "affected urban traffic". One can only sigh...
