The sea and sky here are blue, and the beach is also full of colorful gravel. Moreover, it is named Jiuzhang Cliff because there are towering cliffs next to the beach. I have seen many beaches, but this is the first time I have seen such a cliff-like coast.



The water is very clear and blue, and the water and sky are one color. There are many students sketching on the beach. I envy them because they can use their own artistic methods to capture the beautiful scenery they see. People like us can only take photos with our mobile phones.



The cliffs are very peculiar, the rocks are basically cubical, and there is a huge net under the cliff to prevent falling rocks. Climbing up the cliff along the stone steps, the view suddenly becomes much wider, the white lighthouse and the sea in the distance complement each other, and I mistakenly thought I was on the east coast of Taiwan.



Here, there is an ancient civilization that worships large bird and animal heads. There are always some independent civilizations in places separated from the mainland, just like Tasmania in Australia.

Walking under the Jiuzhang Cliff, I told my friends that this scenery reminded me of the scene in Journey to the West where the four masters and apprentices went to seek Buddhist scriptures, because there are cliffs on one side and endless expanses on the other side. It's so beautiful! On the cliff, we sat and waited for the sunset. Just watching the sun go down little by little, we chatted in the wind. This is the life we want.

It is quite a hassle to get from Penglai Pavilion to Jiuzhang Cliff.

First, you need to go to Penglai Passenger Terminal to take a boat, which runs once an hour and takes 50 minutes.

After getting ashore, you will reach the Changdao Passenger Terminal. It costs about 20 yuan to take a taxi to Jiuzhangya (for a ride), and of course there are also buses.

Jiuzhang Cliff Scenic Area is not big, but many people are waiting for sunset here. Please note that there are no buses after sunset.

Jiuzhang Cliff Scenic Area is located at the northwesternmost end of Beichangshan Island in Changdao. It is named Jiuzhang Cliff because of the tall, steep and dangerous reef cliffs on the seaside. Due to sea erosion, the cliffs on the seaside are upright, about 70 meters high, and in some places they are more than 90 degrees. When you are at the bottom of the cliff, looking up at the cliffs is very spectacular, which is rare in domestic seaside landscapes.

Another major attraction of Jiuzhangya Scenic Area is the sunset over the sea, with a wide view and magnificent sunset.

The cliff is very imposing. You can walk to the foot of the cliff and get close to the exposed reefs due to the retreat of the sea. You can also walk along the reefs to where it touches the sea, stand in the sea and freely enjoy the extraordinary feeling brought to you by the reefs and sea water. It is a great tourist spot to watch the sunrise and sunset!

This attraction is far from Changdao County, but the drive only takes more than 20 minutes. There is nothing special about entering the attraction. After seeing the coastline, there is a wooden plank road to the left. In the distance, you can see a copper "crown", which is similar to an observation deck, but it is currently inaccessible for safety reasons. Walking to the hillside is the stone tablet of Jiuzhang Cliff. There is a viewing platform in front to enjoy the scenery of Ouchi Bay.



The downward steps on the left lead directly to the seaside, passing by the "Jiudie Stone", which is made up of nine layers of quartzite with obvious joints. It has been eroded and carved by waves for a long time. The stone patterns on the tower cliff are clear, the layers are distinct, and the shape is unique. It forms a pair of "mother and child cliffs" with the Jiuzhang Cliff.



The main attraction of Jiuzhang Cliff, Yansuo Cliff, is 69.7 meters high and stretches for hundreds of meters. The actual height is far more than "Jiuzhang", but the word "nine", the largest Chinese number, is taken to indicate its immeasurable might! After hundreds of millions of years of erosion by waves and wind, it has gradually become convex and concave, with jagged cliff faces forming a natural landscape.



The road along the coast is bumpy and uneven. In a small open space, there is a "lucky stone" standing abruptly. The texture and color of this stone are completely different from those of the Jiuzhang Cliff. The locals think it is an alien stone and specially preserved it. It is said that if you walk around the lucky stone three times, the wish you make will definitely come true~~~~~~~~



The mountain road slowly ascended again. Near the halfway point of the mountain, a wooden bridge appeared in front of us. Due to the altitude and the strong sea breeze that day, although it was only a short section of the bridge, it was shaking violently, which intensified the psychological panic. After crossing the wooden bridge, there was a huge stone platform in front, but there was no protection, so we needed to pay attention to safety.



On one side of the stone steps leading to the top, there is a sea cave, less than 1 meter wide and more than 20 meters deep. Inside the cave are stone tables and stone beds with two skylights. It is said to be the bedroom of He Xiangu. Next to Xiangu Cave is a huge stone shaped like a stone axe, which is also said to be related to the founder of the mountain.



The wind becomes stronger after reaching the top, but it is also the place with the best scenery. The red and white lighthouse echoes with another lighthouse on the opposite island, guiding the fishermen on their way home. The large sculpture on the hill is also a god who blesses the locals and silently guards Changdao.



Going further ahead, you will suddenly see a red pillar and a golden dragon. This is the newly developed "Pearl Tunnel", which used to be an air-raid shelter. It takes about 5 minutes to walk there. The exit of the tunnel is the underwater world. At the entrance stands a 12-meter-high pure white statue of Mazu, which is also one of the patron saints protecting coastal fishermen.



At this point, the "adventure" in Jiuzhangya Scenic Area is coming to an end. Amid the shouts of the vendors, we left the exit and headed for our next destination.

Jiuzhang Cliff is located in the northwest of Beichangshan Island. The scenic spot area is not too large, but due to its steep cliffs and imposing appearance, it is still very popular among the Changdao attractions. The road here is not easy to walk on, and sometimes rocks fall.

The islands stand side by side, and it seems that pearls have fallen from the sky.

Diaoyu Island is not far from Jiuzhangya Scenic Area. Jiuzhangya feels similar to Diaoyu Island, with clear water and beautiful rocks.

I personally think Jiuzhang Cliff is the most fun place in Changdao. It is very suitable for taking photos. It was a sunny day when I went there, the sky was very blue, and I could see very far.

I think it is the best attraction, you can spend more than an hour there, as long as there is light and good transparency, there are blockbusters everywhere.

It's very beautiful when there are fewer people. It's better not to come during the National Day holiday.

The rocks of Jiuzhang Cliff are very slippery, so be sure to watch your step. The weather on that day was not very ideal, and the fog was a bit heavy, so I didn't see the scenery of the colorful clouds in the sky.

Overall, Jiuzhang Cliff is worth a visit! I was lucky to encounter such a strong wind on my first visit. I wanted to return early after enjoying the beautiful scenery, but I didn't expect that all flights were suspended and I was trapped on an "isolated island"... I was caught off guard. Well, I'll make the best of it!

The pass allows you to visit the scenic area as many times as you want. Jiuzhang Cliff and Moon Bay share the same coastline, so we entered from Jiuzhang Cliff and only needed our ID card.

Jiuzhang Cliff is probably famous for its rocks. Layers of rocks are stacked up and down, standing majestically on the seashore. I was so tired after climbing this, and it took me nearly two hours to finish the tour.

The scenery is still very good, the sea water is clear, but there is a lot of garbage in Jiuzhangya. As a landmark attraction of Changdao, there should be more staff to maintain the environment. Of course, improving the quality of tourists is the fundamental thing.

The weather was average on the day I went there. It was said that it rained heavily in the morning, and even the boats stopped running. I heard that the sunset at Jiuzhang Cliff is very beautiful, but unfortunately I can only see Jiuzhang Cliff itself today. The magical creation of nature is indeed a must-see attraction in Changdao. Although there are people everywhere, I feel very comfortable walking my own way. I took a lot of pictures of stones with special patterns and colors, and I feel that they are beautiful as wallpapers~

Jiuzhang Cliff is the most beautiful place to watch the sunset, but the wind and rain accompanied us, so we still didn't see the most beautiful sunset scenery as we wished! If I can't look at the sky, I will look at the rocks and water. The reefs here are very unique and charming! I took a few close-ups of the stone patterns to comfort the regrets deep in my heart.

You can go back and forth from Crescent Bay to Jiuzhang Cliff, but the most distinctive feature of Changdao is that all places where you can see the sea are fenced off by the local tourism department. You can only enter by buying tickets, and the ticket price is quite expensive. I feel like I came here to be ripped off. My Beijing friend who lives in the same fishing house described it as not ripping off tourists, but directly stabbing tourists. I suggest that friends who want to come should go to mature scenic spots in Weihai and Yantai. The seaside scenery is okay, but the county town is shabby. People in the entire county are busy ripping off tourists. Taxis never use meters, but drivers charge a fixed price. You can take it or not, anyway, there are tourists everywhere. The Crescent Bay Beach has already charged an entrance fee, but it costs another 20 yuan to go in and change clothes to the locker room. The tourism industry is not mature at all, so disappointing!

It is very beautiful, the most beautiful sea I have ever seen! The disadvantage is that there are few trash cans on the island. It took a total of 10 days from Rizhao, Qingdao, Yantai, Penglai, and Changdao. It was a slow trip with children and the elderly. Each place has its own characteristics. Rizhao: The beach is good. You must buy some seaweed in Rizhao. It is cheap and good. You can buy it in Wujiatai Village. From Rizhao to Qingdao: 60 yuan by car. The second bathing beach in Qingdao is better. There are super many people in the underwater world. The design is also unreasonable. The jellyfish museum is isolated from other museums, which is inconvenient. Qingdao has high consumption. A standard room is about 300-600 yuan, and eating is expensive. Yantai: The most cost-effective is Yantai. It takes 1.5 hours from Qingdao to Yantai by train. It is recommended to take Yantai Station (not Yantai South). Food and accommodation in Yantai are not expensive. Yantai Mountain Park is free, and you can also see the sea. There is a donkey meat fire roast along the path of Yantai Mountain. It is especially delicious. A plate of scallops costs 16 yuan and tastes very good. From Yantai to Penglai: Take a ride for 80 yuan and you can go directly to Pengchang Passenger Port Station (pier). We did not stop at Penglai Pavilion. We took a boat from Penglai to Changdao: Stayed in Changdao for two days. The fisherman's house was very clean. You can go to Wanniao Island on the island. Whether there are many birds depends on the season. Then it's the north line, Crescent Bay, Jiuzhang Cliff!

It's too hot. In summer, it is recommended to enter the park after 5 o'clock to watch the sunset. In August, the sunset is around 7 o'clock. The ticket for the north line is 80 yuan, including Wanzhang Cliff and Crescent Bay, and is valid for 24 hours.

Jiuzhang Cliff is generally good. The pebble beach is great. It's early August. Although it's the beginning of autumn, it's still hot.

My favorite is the lighthouse on Jiuzhang Cliff.

South Island and North Island sell package tickets, and there are no separate tickets for scenic spots, because only Jiuzhang Cliff and Crescent Bay are open now. So the ticket is 80 yuan per ticket. Remind everyone that it is best to bring your ID card to buy tickets, because you can enter and exit the scenic area 24 hours a day with your ID card. Of course, the same scenic spot needs to be separated by two hours. As soon as you enter the scenic area, the first thing you see is a stone beach composed of boulders. Because the weather is too hot, my mother and I ran to the seaside without thinking. Jiuzhang Cliff can be seen from a distance, but it was a bit foggy that day. Attention! It's not haze! We strolled along the stone beach to the bottom of the cliff, or we could walk down from the plank road. Most of the cliff bottom is a stone beach. If the waves are big, the waves hitting the reefs are still quite spectacular. There is a stone ladder at the end of the cliff bottom. Go up and look down from a high place. The blue waves are rippling, and you will feel refreshed. You can't feel it in the city. You can see the lighthouse and a telescope at the top. The telescope needs to scan the QR code to pay for viewing, but it was foggy that day and you can't see anything clearly.

There are some snack stalls at the exit. My mother and I were so hungry that we bought roasted quail eggs and cold noodles. The cold noodles were quite delicious.

Jiuzhang Cliff is said to be a beautiful place to watch the sunset. We arrived at about 3 o'clock. It took about an hour to walk through it. This scenic spot is still very complete and natural. You have to walk under the rocks by the sea, and there is an endless sea next to you. Walk to the end and sit on the rocks to watch the sunset. The sea breeze is super strong.

I have to say the sunset is really beautiful. It's worth waiting from 3 o'clock to 6:30. If you visit Jiuzhang Cliff, you must watch the sunset~

I went there 10 years ago, and I still like it this time. The fisherman's house is also good, and the food is refreshing. Scallops can be cooked as you like, they are very fresh and delicious. I order them for every meal. The food is much worse when I go to Yantai Yangma Island.

There is only one bus for transportation on the island. If you don't want to go to the scenic spots, you have to take a taxi. It's not too far for us to walk, but it rained halfway and there was no car. Even so, we were still happy.

Because of the rain, only a small part of the scenic spot was open, and people were not allowed to go down to the beach. It is said that the sea here is cleaner and it is very suitable for watching the sunset on sunny days. The weather was not good, which was a pity.
