Only then did we realize why Penglai Pavilion is known as the "fairyland on earth".

It is not as good as written in the books, nor as legendary as the old people say. The murals of the "Eight Immortals" in Penglai Pavilion are vivid and full of colors. Penglai Pavilion can be visited in more than two hours. Except for Tianheng Mountain, which I don't want to go to, it is not as good as expected.

There are three gates in Penglai Pavilion Scenic Area, and the east gate is close to the beach. Penglai Pavilion Scenic Area is not big.

Surprisingly, you can bring your dog in here as long as you sign an agreement.

I originally wanted to take a cable car to the other side to see the dividing line between the two seas, but due to the large number of people and the flow rate limit, I couldn’t take it.

Penglai Pavilion stopped selling tickets at 4:30 and stopped entering at 5:30. Basically, they started clearing tourists at 6 o'clock. I was already in a tight schedule. I bought the ticket first, which cost 140 yuan, and then found a place to store my luggage, which cost 20 yuan. Then I found a place to charge my phone... Fortunately, there was a rest area at the ticket office with many charging plugs and USB ports, so I charged for about half an hour and entered the scenic area at around 4:30.

Penglai Pavilion Scenic Area, how should I put it, it doesn't seem like a place I would like. Due to time constraints, I didn't take the cable car to Tianheng Mountain, and it didn't feel particularly interesting.

The buses depart in a continuous stream and arrive in Penglai in 1 hour and 20 minutes.

The ancient buildings have nice views, but the area is small, so it's quick to visit. It's recommended to walk to the sea side when you come out, so you can walk directly to the East Fort. Looking back at Penglai Pavilion, it's the iconic view of Penglai Pavilion on the ticket, and it's beautiful to take pictures!

Penglai Pavilion Scenic Area is very close to the city, and the transportation is very convenient. There are many buses. It is a fenced scenic area. The ticket office is very large, and there is a rest area. I booked the ticket online, but the staff didn't find it at first (it was booked too early...), but later they found it, and probably gave me a map of the scenic area to apologize, which helped me a lot as a road idiot 😅😅



The ticket price for Penglai Pavilion is not cheap. You can save 20 yuan if you buy it online, but you have to book the ticket in advance. It is a big ticket. Xcheng gave me a birthday coupon worth 30 yuan, which helped me save a lot of money.



The scenic area includes six large and small scenic areas. The recommended order of visiting is: Beiwodusi Mansion, Penglai Pavilion, Tianheng Mountain, Dengzhou Museum, Ancient Ship Museum, Sanguan Temple, which is just right for a circle (I went straight to Penglai Pavilion when I entered the door and forgot about Beiwodusi Mansion. As a result, I went back and walked a lot more distance).



They said that you need to check your ticket. When I entered the Beiwadusifu and Sanguan Temple, no one cared. If you don't have time, I suggest you only visit Penglai Pavilion, Tianheng Mountain and the Ancient Ship Museum.

No matter good or bad, you must visit Penglai Pavilion when you come to Penglai. I drove here from Tianjin with an old man and a child. I would like to tell friends who drive by themselves: choose the Penglai Pavilion cable car parking lot when navigating. It is very convenient. You get off the car on the cable car. Take the cable car to Tianheng Mountain first. It is recommended to buy a one-way cable car. It is not tiring to walk down and the scenery is also good. After going down the mountain, the small side door of Penglai Pavilion is right opposite, which can save a lot of distance.

Tourists come here mainly to visit the Penglai Pavilion ancient building complex, which can be reached on foot, mainly by stone steps and gentle slopes. Along the way, you can visit Baiyun Palace, Dragon King Palace, Queen of Heaven Palace, Sanqing Hall, Su Gong Temple, and finally the Shelter Pavilion and Penglai Pavilion on the top of the mountain. The sea breeze is very strong on the top of the mountain. From here you can see the junction of the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea. The boundary between the yellow and blue sea waters is very obvious, and you can also see Changdao Island in the middle of the sea. What is worth mentioning is the Shelter Pavilion. Due to its unique design, only tourists who come here on windy and rainy days can feel its wonders. Standing outside the pavilion, you can feel the surging waves on the sea and the howling wind. When you enter the Shelter Pavilion, it is extremely quiet. The pavilion is completely different from the outside world.

I went there with high hopes, but it wasn't as good as I expected. The attractions were just average. The only regret was taking the sightseeing bus to the highest point to have a look.

People probably go to Penglai Pavilion for its history and fame.

You can enter Penglai Pavilion during the opening hours, but you need to show your ticket to enter the attraction. I didn't go in because I was in a hurry. It will be boring if you only see the scenery without hearing the details. The ancient building complex is not big and can be visited in 1~2 hours. The seafood in Yantai is very fresh and the quantity is very large. Just steam it with a lot of water. Unlike ours, it is all shipped from outside, the quantity is small, and a lot of it is made into garlic paste to remove the fishy smell. If you have the opportunity, you should go there in June or July, it will feel better.

I have always had an inexplicable longing for the Penglai Fairy Island, but I was a little disappointed after I went there. It may be that the traces of artificial planning are too obvious. The most famous Penglai Fairy Pavilion still has a little style, but I am still not very happy.

Leaving Qi Jiguang's hometown and heading south, you can see the Ancient Ship Museum after entering Zhenyang Gate. Continue northward for more than 500 meters to reach the entrance of the Penglai Pavilion ancient building complex. Built in the Northern Song Dynasty, the Penglai Pavilion stands by the sea, with pavilions and towers scattered in an orderly manner. The main building of the Penglai Pavilion is the most complete when viewed from Tianheng Mountain or the Navy Mansion. The scenery is beautiful, including Penglai Pavilion Ancient Building Group, Tianheng Mountain, Qi Jiguang's Hometown and several museums. Penglai Pavilion is the most important tourist attraction in Penglai City and a must-see place when visiting Penglai. But after seeing it, I have a lot of feelings.

1. As a national 5A-level scenic spot, the scenic spot is only big, not refined, which makes people feel very empty. The core part of the scenic spot is very small, and most of it is historical legends. It takes the story of the Eight Immortals becoming immortals. But there is no more introduction to the story of the Eight Immortals. This reduces the core content of this scenic spot a lot. And there are very few tourist souvenirs for the Eight Immortals. Even if it is a legend, it can be developed more. This makes people feel that the scenic spot has not worked hard in this regard. It is just to make the scenic area larger and have more attractions. Unexpectedly, this makes people forget Penglai Pavilion even more.

2. The 140 yuan ticket is a bit expensive. Especially since it is forcibly included in the Tianheng Mountain. Those who have been there know that is Tianheng Mountain considered a tourist attraction? This kind of inclusion can only give people a worse impression. It is almost the same as saying that Tianheng Mountain is a barren mountain. A pavilion, a few sculptures, and a lighthouse are considered a tourist attraction? And you have to take a cable car to get there (you can walk down the road, but the journey is long and there is no shelter, which is painful enough in summer).

3. There are problems with the facilities in the scenic area. There are several moments behind Penglai Pavilion. It is difficult to take pictures. Because there are stone benches in front of the stone carvings, many tourists rest there. If you take pictures, you will inevitably take pictures of others, which is not only impolite, but also affects the picture. In fact, the stone benches can be placed somewhere else. Since you set up a scenic spot, you must consider the convenience of everyone's visit and not do it on a whim.

4. The tourist signs in the scenic area are not detailed enough, and the tour routes are not scientifically planned. You need to go back and forth a lot, and you will miss the scenic spots if you are not careful. Moreover, the tickets are one-way. Once you walk out of Penglai Pavilion and go to Tianheng Mountain, you can never go back. This rule is neither scientific nor fair. Why can't I move freely in the scenic area after I bought the ticket?

You have to buy a cable car ticket to go out, which is the next attraction, Tianheng Mountain.

Not as good as expected, the scenery is not beautiful enough, and there is nothing special.

It is very beautiful and worth a visit. Penglai Pavilion, ancient buildings and Tianheng Mountain scenery are all very good. The Tianheng Mountain cableway must be taken.

The introduction of the scenic spot is not good, and the signs are not clear and accurate. Penglai Water City is the sea in Penglai Pavilion. After touring the ancient buildings, I was confused when I saw the signs.

This kind of sea-viewing place must have good weather to be beautiful.

It's not as beautiful as I imagined. I think it's not as beautiful as Tianheng Mountain across the street. Maybe it's too hot and crowded, which makes me feel depressed. I went there on purpose. I can only say that there is no surprise, but it is indeed beautiful.
