Taishan Tianjie

Taishan Tianjie refers to a street from Nantianmen to Bixia Temple in the east, with a total length of about one li. It is a section of road from Nantianmen to the north, about 100 meters long, called Beitianjie and Daidingtianjie. It is lined with shops and is both a market and a street, forming a unique custom.
There are 20 shops in Tianjie. The larger shops have five or six rooms, while the smaller ones have only one or two rooms. They sell incense and gold ingots during the day and provide accommodation for pilgrims at night. All shops use unique signs - real objects, that is, real objects are hung at the door, such as baskets, golden bulls, parrots, whips, money, mallets, golden bells, bells, strainers, etc. Most of the signs are carved from wood and carefully painted with patterns. The inns are named after these real objects, such as Golden Bull House, Golden Bell House, Parrot House, Shuangsheng House, etc.

Not far from Nantianmen is Tianjie, a place where accommodation and restaurants are concentrated. The prices are not expensive because the food and supplies are all carried up by hand. Tianjie on the top of Mount Tai is not big, and the main street is only about 100 meters long.

Tianjie is a concentrated area of accommodation and restaurants on the top of Mount Tai, with numerous shops, serving as both a market and a street.

After entering the Nantianmen Gate and going up two steps, you will reach Tianjie. In ancient times, a street market was formed above the Nantianmen Gate, which was Tianjie. It was gradually abandoned after the founding of the People's Republic of China. The current "Tianjie" stone archway and the thousand-meter-long antique building were gradually restored and rebuilt after the 1980s. Tianjie has a wide view and endless scenery.

Street, as the name suggests, is a street market in the sky. Located at the top of Mount Tai, Tianjie starts from Nantianmen in the west and ends at Bixia Temple in the east, with a total length of 0.6 kilometers. It is not only beautiful, but also has a prosperous business, with many shops and a unique custom. It is one of the "Top Ten Characteristic Markets" in China.

Tianjie is a street that runs eastward from Nantianmen to Bixia Temple. It is bustling with people coming and going, and is lined with hotels, restaurants, shops and various small stores. According to records, Tianjie has been prosperous since the Qing Dynasty. Some bosses used real objects as signboards, such as golden bulls, parrots, and mallets. This kind of real signboard has gradually become a feature of Tianjie, and can still be seen in Tianjie today.

Tianjie, as the name implies, comes from the sky, is born from the sky, and reaches the sky. Tianjie is located at the top of Mount Tai, starting from Nantianmen in the west and ending at Bixia Temple in the east, with a total length of 0.6 kilometers. It is not only beautiful, but also has a prosperous business. It is one of the top ten characteristic markets in China. Tianjie originated early, and the exact time is unknown. Today, the road is flat and the temples are adjacent, like a street market in heaven. Although the whole street is lined with shops, they are all very small. This is done to protect the mountaintop landscape, so the area of buildings is strictly limited.

In order to protect the mountaintop landscape, the building area is strictly limited. Therefore, these shops are not large in scale. Initially, only four hotels, namely Shenqi Hotel, Nantian Hotel, Tianjie Comprehensive Service Company and Xianju Hotel, were over 500 square meters, 11 were between 100 and 200 square meters, and four were only over 10 square meters.

Going up from Nantianmen is Tianjie, which is not very long. It has been a very prosperous commercial street on Mount Tai since the Qing Dynasty. Snacks and incense are sold here, and there are also places to stay. There are some scenic spots around, but the prices are very expensive.

By Reign |

Let's call it the Sky-High Price Street. It's right opposite the Nantianmen Hotel after the cable car at the foot of Mount Tai. There's a message on the window saying ramen costs 10 yuan, which means a bowl of noodles boiled in plain water, and garlic costs 5 yuan per head. The service is very poor. When will China's tourist attractions be able to do the same as the crackdown on gangsters and eliminate evil... to provide a good environment for the tourism ecology!

By fincen |

Expensive, bad taste, this is my impression of Tianjie

By China-TravelNote users |

Tianjie is a commercial street on the top of Mount Tai, with many shops where you can eat and rest. So you don't need to bring too much food and water when you visit. Of course, the price is definitely much more expensive than at the foot of the mountain, because the porters carry the food up one step at a time.

There is a different world on the top of the mountain. It feels like a city where gods live. It is also as prosperous as the human world. There are many shops and tourists.

After passing the Eighteen Bends and Nantianmen, you can see Tianjie a short distance ahead. There is a large memorial archway and a commercial street nearby with many snacks and accommodations.

Tianjie is located right at Nantianmen, where there are many shops, accommodation and restaurants. If you live near Tianjie, the prices will be relatively affordable.

After passing the Nantianmen, the terminal of the Eighteen Bends, you will arrive at Tianjie, the commercial street in the sky. You can eat and stay here, but the consumption is indeed not cheap. It is okay to eat multi-grain pancakes.

It's a very ordinary street, there's nothing delicious to eat and the prices are really not cheap.

By Ariel Xiaoxian Travel |

The street market in the sky. I never eat any food that can fill my stomach at tourist attractions. Especially the Tianjie of Mount Tai, not because of the high or low prices, but because all the food comes from people's backs and shoulders, and all the garbage comes from people eating and horses feeding. It's not a bad thing to leave some good impressions of Mount Tai, Dongyue, and it doesn't matter if you eat less.

By Lu Apiao |

Trekking poles are essential and there are hostels at the foot of the mountain where you can rent them.

By Meet a Love |

Is this a food street? Let me take a look.

The rain on Tianjie is as soft as butter, and the grass looks green from a distance but not near. Spring is the best season of the year, far better than the willows and mist in the imperial capital. This is a poem by Han Yu about early spring. This Tianjie is not the same as that Tianjie. The scenery of Tianjie is the most special, and pilgrims and tourists must visit it. If you ask what is the most beautiful scenery of Mount Dongyue? The sunset glow is better than the sunrise.

By overtake |

The food is a bit expensive. I ate at the old shop, Yuanbao Restaurant. I personally suggest that you bring your own dry food.

By dilicle |

We had breakfast here after watching the sunrise in the morning. We were exhausted after the night climb the night before, so the breakfast here is very humane, 10 yuan per person buffet, with unlimited soy milk, fried dough sticks, pancakes, and rice porridge, which definitely made us full. Of course, the taste was average.

By shang16 |

I went to Mount Tai on National Day. It was shrouded in mist and clouds, so I couldn't see all the other mountains. It was also a bit cold. I hurriedly walked through the commercial street; some friends ate instant noodles and noodles to warm themselves up.

Walking on Tianjie, I had a different feeling. The feeling of having a panoramic view from the top of the mountain was really great. It was really like "seeing all the mountains from a distance"! The view from the top of the mountain was much wider. The thick fog in the mountains was like very fine raindrops, hitting my face and body in the wind. Fortunately, I was wearing a hat, otherwise I might have been blown to hemiplegia.

After climbing up the "South Gate of Heaven", you will arrive at the Tianjie of Mount Tai, from which you can overlook the panoramic view of Tai'an City, which is simple and heavy. There are various service facilities such as hotels and shops in Tianjie, but due to its height, the price is naturally not cheap.

By Water Sky |

The one-mile long flat road to the east of Nantianmen is called Tianjie. There is a stone archway to the east of Nantianmen, which is the famous "Tianjie", which was called "Shengzhongfang" in ancient times. People in the Ming Dynasty inscribed "Shengzhong", which means the place where ancient emperors reported their success in offering sacrifices to heaven. It was abandoned in the late Qing Dynasty and rebuilt in 1986. It is a four-pillar and three-door granite archway. The stone archway is carved with four stone pillars with dragons reaching to the sky and eight stone unicorns on the supporting pillars. The shape is unique. Wu Zhongqi inscribed "Tianjie" on the archway, and it is now called "Tianjiefang".

Walking north from Tianjiefang, you will reach Beitian Street, which was newly built in the 1990s. Both sides of the street are lined with hotels and restaurants providing accommodation and meals for tourists. At the north end of the street is the cable car station leading to Taohuayuan.

The food is expensive and the variety is limited. Unless you plan to stay overnight at Nantianmen-Tianjie, it is not recommended to eat here. Hotels in the off-season are basically not full and the room rates are cheap, but it will be cold at night and the hot water supply is insufficient.

I arrived at Tianjie at 5:30 this evening. The most unique thing about this spot is renting military coats. Every store mainly sells this business. The price is the same, 20 for new and 10 for old. The favorable spot in the leeward side has been occupied by people laying out mats. But the wind is really strong and cold.

There are many stalls selling special gifts in Tianjie. You can just look at them for fun. If you really want to buy them, you can buy them. Some are very cheap. Don’t be too demanding about the food. It is difficult to send things to the top of the mountain, so just make do with it!

Due to the weather, I didn't see the long-awaited sunrise, so I prepared to go down the mountain after dawn. Of course, I had to be physically fit. It was a wise choice to have breakfast on the mountain. I probably didn't have enough physical strength to go down the mountain after climbing Mount Tai last night. In order to show up at the company with a smile on my face tomorrow, I decided to take the cable car down the mountain. The cable car is at the Nantianmen Gate, and there are signs to guide the way, so it is easy to find.

Tianjie, as the name suggests, is a street market in the sky. It feels very different, especially after climbing to the top of Mount Tai step by step. It feels like another world to reach this bustling street market. There is also a post office with mailboxes. The price of postcards is not high. The boss is also very nice. It's just like an ordinary post office. It doesn't feel like a tourist attraction (being blackmailed)~ It's great~~~

After passing Nantianmen, you will reach Tianjie, where there is a large archway. Standing at the Tianjie archway, you can have a good view of the surrounding mountains and the scenery is superb.

Another point is that Tianjie is the commercial area on the top of Mount Tai, where there are noodle shops, restaurants, hostels, etc. It is the best choice for those who need to eat and replenish supplies. However, I need to remind you that the prices of the food there are a little bit expensive, and the taste is really average, or even unpalatable...

By distance |

The prices on the street at the top of Mount Tai are cheaper than you might think. After all, everything is transported up from the mountain. Of course, it is interesting to go shopping in a place with such high costs.

The one that impressed me the most was a shop selling sliced noodles for 10 yuan a night. I only found out about the bowl after I entered the shop. Hahahaha

By *Ling~ling* |

There are many food shops in Tianjie, but the food is so expensive and tastes terrible. I had a bowl of ramen, which was just boiled noodles in plain water, and it cost 20 yuan. It is not as good as instant noodles. So I suggest other tourists who can eat instant noodles should not eat the food in the shop. But I still took some nice photos in Tianjie, like the gate of heaven in Journey to the West.
