Yangma Island

There is a tourist bus from the North Square of the Railway Station to Yangma Island for 5 yuan, but it is only available during the tourist season and holidays. This year it stopped on October 8th.

If you have enough time, you can consider staying in Muping, visiting the Wenxing Road Night Market at night, experiencing the characteristics of Yantai, and going to the island early the next day.

The water is very clear, but it is also a reality that there is garbage. After all, this is where people live, and most of the island is private waters reserved by others for aquaculture.

It is best to cycle around the island or drive yourself. Although the island is not big, it will be very tiring to walk half of it.

The water here is really clear, just like the Maldives in my memory. But there is no white sand beach here, instead there are reefs, which is another more primitive beauty.

Tour Tips:

1. Yangma Island is about 40 minutes' drive from Yantai City. It is recommended to take a taxi or drive there.

2. Yangma Island is not small and is not suitable for hiking! If you don't drive yourself, remember to rent an electric car.

Dahaiju Book Bar is something I would like to strongly recommend to everyone. There are elderly and children in our group, and we really need a quiet cafe for a rest at noon, and this place greatly meets our needs. This book bar is very large, built on a cliff, with a beautiful view of the sea within reach.

The scenery of Yangma Island is OK, but it is not suitable for tourism. When you arrive at Yangma Island, you can take a tour bus around the island. If you want to get close to the sea, there is no way. Although there is a government sign allowing it, if you pick up crabs or dig oysters, as soon as you bend over and touch the sea water, the local bullies will drive away or even scold the tourists.

The first feature is that there are few people and the water is clear. The ring road around the island is more than 20 kilometers long. Public transportation includes buses, electric vehicles, and bicycles. I feel that it is more suitable for self-driving tours and electric vehicles.

The second characteristic is that the coastline is full of sand and rocks but few beaches, so there is almost no place to swim. However, there are many places to catch crabs, as long as you figure out the low tide time.

The third characteristic is that there are relatively few good B&Bs. It is difficult to book one even if it is not a weekend. They are basically fully booked. So you have to book in advance.

If you only want to see the attractions, it takes 3-4 hours to get to Yangma Island. The entrance to the island is Tianma Square, and there is a sightseeing bus station behind the square. The sightseeing bus route circles the island and runs counterclockwise along the coastline. It costs 18 yuan per person and there are nearly ten stops in one circle. The main attractions are Zhang Island and Qinfeng Cliff.

It is unfortunate that I spent three years of college at Shandong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, located in Yangmadao Street, Muping District, Yantai City. At that time, when I was tired of playing games in class every day, I would look out the window at the coast. Oh, it was an island. I rode around the island countless times. The best place for scenery is the north slope of Yangmadao, but there are many people, so I must go around the island in a counterclockwise direction. It feels like bitter first and sweet later. It is unrealistic to walk around Yangma Island. You can choose to drive with the elderly and children, but the self-driving experience is not strong. The electric cars on the island are a good choice. You can park at any time, which is very convenient. The scenery is very good, the air is fresh, and there are few people, so it is more comfortable to play. There are not very few toilets on the island, but you have to seize every opportunity haha.

This year, there is only one water park in Yangma Island, which is a personal investment. The government repaired the road, which is still very flat. The problem is that the Houhai Road has become a one-way road, which has made many people cry. I hope that Yangma Island will get better and better, and the environment is the key. This place is definitely beyond expectations, but you must come early. We arrived at about 7 o'clock in the morning. The island was very leisurely, but after a round, there was a serious traffic jam at about 9 o'clock, so you must come to the island early.

We went there during the National Day holiday, and there were a lot of cars going to the island. Due to time constraints, we did not travel around the entire island. The scenery below is not filtered~

Yangma Island can be said to be a popular island on the Internet. It is known as the Little Maldives. Its biggest feature should be the super clear water. There is no entrance fee to Yangma Island. The beautiful scenery is mainly in the north, and there is nothing to see in the south.

It is worthwhile to drive 12 hours from Beijing to Yangma Island. The water of Houhai is very clear, much clearer than other seas in China. Many small crabs and starfish are caught. We went to Yangma Island, but it felt like a fake trip. It was the weekend and there were so many cars. Traffic jams started before we even arrived. You must go to the island early! I was also deceived by Douyin. I asked a local friend in Yantai to accompany us to drive there. I highly recommend it. When I got to Yangma Island, there were many people catching crabs. But it was all stinky mud. But the water at the beach is great, much better than the Crescent Bay in Changdao. The water is clear and not so commercial. Don't drive your car onto the beach, it's easy to get stuck. Before entering the island, there is a recreational area in the villa area, which is a good place for taking photos. I didn’t go to the infinity pool because I was afraid of the sun (if you want to go, you can go and have a look, it is just opposite the recreational area)

Friendly reminder: It is not recommended to ride a bike around the island, because there are many ups and downs on the island, and it will get sunburned. It will look good to wear bright clothes to take pictures. Don't go at noon!!! Otherwise, you will miss that handful of cumin and spicy noodles!

You can catch a lot of crabs and small fish, and there are many big crabs, but you must bring your own net and bucket! ! ! It is very expensive to buy them there, costing 20 yuan. When fishing, it is recommended to go near the pier, or places with fewer people. Crabs are generally hidden under the floating bridge. Just wait by the floating bridge leading to the entrance of the yacht. If the tide is low, there will be a lot of crabs swimming in, and it is easy to catch them, but don't catch them again if you don't catch them once, because the crabs have crawled into the sand in the water. You can also dig small sand crabs in the sand on the beach, but it is not easy to clean the sand, and the fish are not easy to catch. They swim very fast. Also, you must wear shorts, otherwise your pants will get wet when you go into the water. Men can wear swimming trunks. You also need to wear slippers. If you go into the water, you have to go barefoot. Swimming is not recommended. There is nothing fun. It is better to catch crabs in shallow water. In addition, there are many shells on the beach, all of which are complete and beautiful. You can pick some up and take them back.

!!! Important point: Fish cannot be placed together with crabs, or they will be crushed to death by the crabs, and it smells fishy!

Crabs must be kept in seawater. They cannot adapt to fresh water and will die within a few hours. It is recommended that you eat them immediately after returning home, otherwise they will become smelly. Remember, dead crabs must not be eaten!

I called a taxi from Yantai because the car was going back to Yangma Island, so the fare was cheap, 50 yuan. I rented a bicycle when I arrived at Yangma Island and walked along the way. I was so tired that I pushed it down the hill. You must go to the back mountain, the scenery is beautiful, but it is not convenient to ride a bicycle, and you can't go into the water with a bicycle. I suggest that if you want to have fun in the water, don't ride a bicycle in.

I originally planned to spend only one day here. I arrived in the morning and drove around the island for about 20 minutes. The back of the island is full of rocks and so on, so it's not good to take children there. The beach is especially suitable for children to play. The beach is big and the water is clear. Seeing the children playing so happily, I stayed for another day. I stayed in Qianheshun, which is close to the sea. It took less than ten minutes to get there. I parked the car in the small square at the door, saving parking fees. The boss was very enthusiastic. In the morning, I personally took me to the seafood market to buy seafood. It was fresh and cheap. At noon, the boss's wife personally processed it. It was delicious! I will stay here next time I come here!

The next day, it took only three or two minutes to walk to the beach. The sea water was quite clean. The bonfire party on the beach was super awesome. The sea breeze, beach barbecue, beer and dance to the music were so exciting, but the disadvantage is that the cultural depth is not deep enough.

There are few tourists, the scenic spots are very clean, and the sea breeze makes you feel good.

From Weihai to Yantai, we stopped by Yangma Island. There were some small surprises along the way. We found a lot of small hermit crabs on the beach. The little friends had a lot of fun playing with them. Later, we changed to another place and found a large group of jellyfish (but they were dead), but we have never seen this type of jellyfish before. Yangma Island is about 16 kilometers away from the urban area of Yantai. Going east along Binhai Avenue, you will cross the cross-sea bridge (the Yangma Island cross-sea bridge is actually less than 2 kilometers long). It is indeed very convenient to reach the island. Yangma Island should be a tourist attraction that has really emerged in recent years. Its convenient transportation and relative isolation from the land are its advantages, but its extensive development and lack of unified planning still make it look relatively backward. There are bathing beaches on the island where you can go to the sea. There are coastal mountains on the east and north sides of the island, where you can experience the sunset on the island from a high altitude. There are now many small farmhouse hotels on the island, and there are also many high-end hotels that look luxurious. However, given the convenience of Yantai, it seems that not many people are willing to live on the island.

The people of Yangma Island are simple, kind and honest. The front sea is a beach, the back sea is rocky, the sea is deep blue, and crabs, small fish, shrimps and jellyfish can be seen everywhere. The old couple in the fishing house where I stayed were very honest. I could also go out to sea with them and eat the fish and shrimps I caught. Accommodation and meals are very cheap and the prices are reasonable.

The sea in front of Yangma Island is wide and calm, while behind the island there are rugged reefs and crashing waves. It is a great place for leisure and tourism.

Yangma Island is located in the Yellow Sea, with a total area of about 10 square kilometers. It is 30 kilometers away from Yantai City and is connected to Muping District by a cross-sea bridge.

The vast sea is much better than the beach in the city. The sea is very clear and blue. Walking along the coastline, you feel like you are in an idol drama. Go straight to the beach behind the island and get off the road. The color of the sea will attract you. It's free. I won't say much, just pictures.

There is no entrance fee to Yangma Island. A family of three (children are four years old) can take a taxi directly to the scenic spot Zhengzhan, where there are bicycles for rent (the kind that a family of three can ride together, with locks. You can stop and lock at any time, and have fun easily). The fee is 40 yuan, with no time limit! The circumference of the island is 16.5 kilometers. It is recommended to ride counterclockwise along the outer ring. All attractions can be easily reached. When riding against the wind, the children are fresh and happy!

I took the opportunity of taking an exam to visit Yangma Island. The feeling is beyond words. The blue and white colors make people feel free of distractions, relaxing, comfortable, fresh air, and bright sunshine. It meets all the requirements of "vacation" in the definition. When visiting Yantai, catching seafood is a must on the itinerary. Riding a bicycle around the island in the gentle sea breeze is also very artistic!
