Yangma Island has a long history. It is said that Qin Shihuang raised imperial horses here during his eastern tour and named it "Royal Horse Island", hence the name.
The climate here is pleasant. The clear water and golden sand on the east side are excellent bathing places, suitable for swimming and playing in the water, while the deep water and small waves on the west side are a natural harbor.
There are Tianma Square, racecourse, bathing beach, Sea World, Yubi Garden and other entertainment attractions on the island, which is a good place for vacation and sightseeing.
The island is rich in sea cucumbers, scallops, abalone, prawns, oysters and other seafood, making it a paradise for seafood lovers.

The water here is really clear, just like the Maldives in my memory. But there is no white sand beach here, instead there are reefs, which is another more primitive beauty.
Recommended itinerary: Qinfeng Cliff - Zhangdao Scenic Area - Dahaiju Book Bar - Island Diary.
Tour Tips:
1. Yangma Island is about 40 minutes' drive from Yantai City. It is recommended to take a taxi or drive there.
2. Yangma Island is not small and is not suitable for hiking! If you don't drive yourself, remember to rent an electric car.
3. This is a pristine island, please be careful to prevent mosquitoes.
Dahaiju Book Bar is something I would like to strongly recommend to everyone. There are elderly and children in our group, and we really need a quiet cafe for a rest at noon, and this place greatly meets our needs. This book bar is very large, built on a cliff, with a beautiful view of the sea within reach.
The scenery of Yangma Island is OK, but it is not suitable for tourism. When you arrive at Yangma Island, you can take a tour bus around the island. If you want to get close to the sea, there is no way. Although there is a government sign allowing it, if you pick up crabs or dig oysters, as soon as you bend over and touch the sea water, the local bullies will drive away or even scold the tourists.
The first feature is that there are few people and the water is clear. The ring road around the island is more than 20 kilometers long. Public transportation includes buses, electric vehicles, and bicycles. I feel that it is more suitable for self-driving tours and electric vehicles.
The second characteristic is that the coastline is full of sand and rocks but few beaches, so there is almost no place to swim. However, there are many places to catch crabs, as long as you figure out the low tide time.
The third characteristic is that there are relatively few good B&Bs. It is difficult to book one even if it is not a weekend. They are basically fully booked. So you have to book in advance.
If you only want to see the attractions, it takes 3-4 hours to get to Yangma Island. The entrance to the island is Tianma Square, and there is a sightseeing bus station behind the square. The sightseeing bus route circles the island and runs counterclockwise along the coastline. It costs 18 yuan per person and there are nearly ten stops in one circle. The main attractions are Zhang Island and Qinfeng Cliff.
It is unfortunate that I spent three years of college at Shandong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, located in Yangmadao Street, Muping District, Yantai City. At that time, when I was tired of playing games in class every day, I would look out the window at the coast. Oh, it was an island. I rode around the island countless times. The best place for scenery is the north slope of Yangmadao, but there are many people, so I must go around the island in a counterclockwise direction. It feels like bitter first and sweet later. I took a lot of photos when I was in college, and they are all saved in Baidu Cloud. If you need them, you can chat privately. I only found one photo of the school on my phone, don’t dislike it (Laughing Bee)
The scenery of Yangma Island is really beautiful, and the water quality is very good. It is the first time I have seen such clear water. For details, please see the travel notes "Self-driving from Jinan to Weihai, see this gentle city"
It is unrealistic to walk around Yangma Island. You can choose to drive with the elderly and children, but the self-driving experience is not strong. The electric cars on the island are a good choice. You can park at any time, which is very convenient. The scenery is very good, the air is fresh, and there are few people, so it is more comfortable to play. There are not very few toilets on the island, but you have to seize every opportunity haha.
This year, there is only one water park in Yangma Island, which is a personal investment. The government repaired the road, which is still very flat. The problem is that the Houhai Road has become a one-way road, which has made many people cry. I hope that Yangma Island will get better and better, and the environment is the key. I will promote a fishing homestay, no thanks.
The scenery is beautiful, please see Xiaoxie's travel notes on Yangma Island for details
Buy a sightseeing ticket for 18 yuan, and the bus will stop when you wave. After a round, go down to play at the scenic spots. Yuandao Scenic Area and Qinfengya are recommended.
In general, it is OK. For detailed introduction, you can move to my travel notes, which have detailed descriptions.
Yangma Island is known as the Maldives of the North. It was a popular check-in spot for internet celebrities in 2018. Douyin 🔥卡 Yangma Island. I also went there to join in the fun. The environment is very good and the water is very clear. It’s pretty good!
The island has Tianma Square, racecourse, bathing beach, Sea World, Yubi Garden and other entertainment attractions, making it a good place for vacation and sightseeing.
The so-called niche attractions have been surrounded by the public, and there are super many people on holidays! The various seaside landforms on the island are worth recommending. Don't go there during holidays.
This place is definitely beyond expectations, but you must come early. We arrived at about 7 o'clock in the morning. The island was very leisurely, but after a round, there was a serious traffic jam at about 9 o'clock, so you must come to the island early.
We went there during the National Day holiday, and there were a lot of cars going to the island. Due to time constraints, we did not travel around the entire island. The scenery below is not filtered~
Yangma Island can be said to be a popular island on the Internet. It is known as the Little Maldives. Its biggest feature should be the super clear water. There is no entrance fee to Yangma Island. The beautiful scenery is mainly in the north, and there is nothing to see in the south.
When we first entered, we saw a lot of cars in Tianma Square. We thought it was a tourist attraction and were charged 5 yuan for parking. But after walking around, there was nothing. It was a rip-off... Then we started to circle the island. We saw that most cars were driving counterclockwise, so we chose to go the other way and go clockwise. However, our main attraction on this trip was Xishan Bay Scenic Area, which had few people and beautiful scenery.
The waters of Yangma Island are not ordinary clear, but it has not been fully developed, so some places are still a bit dirty and messy, and garbage can be seen everywhere. It also reminds friends who love to play to leave civilization behind and take away the garbage. The sunset of Yangma Island is very beautiful
The water is very clear, with lots of jellyfish, crabs, and Patrick Stars.
It is worthwhile to drive 12 hours from Beijing to Yangma Island. The water of Houhai is very clear, much clearer than other seas in China. Many small crabs and starfish are caught. There are basically no tour groups on the island, and there are more self-driving tours, so there will be large-scale traffic jams on the island. It is recommended to come on non-holidays, which will be another experience. The owner of the B&B we stayed in recommended a route to us, which is to run through Tianma Square to Houhai, and then visit clockwise, not counterclockwise, so as to avoid congestion. The B&B opposite Yangma Island where we stayed is a villa, suitable for the whole family. There is a starfish park for children to play nearby, which is completely free and has many facilities, which is very suitable for children. It is still worth recommending.
It's just been developed. I went to the North Island. There are a lot of rocks there, which is great for taking pictures. The water at the beach is very clear and you can easily pick up crabs in the water. The scenery at the beach is beautiful. The seaside residence is more expensive. The food is less and a little expensive.
hey-hey
First time writing this
The scenery of Houhai on the north side of the island is particularly good.
You must get a bicycle. Hiking will be very tiring.
hey-hey
Very good! The children are very happy, I am very happy too, the water is very beautiful
It's a general check-in place. It's a man-made scenic spot. If you have time, go there. If you don't have time, forget it. It's not as good as Changdao.
Small island, very close to the city, a good place for self-driving tour
You must order Spanish mackerel dumplings on Yangma Island. They are really tender.
I heard that it became popular because of TikTok.
I hope you don't destroy the environment.
The price is still not low
The figs on the island are really delicious.
Then you can go to Libeng Island in the east after leaving Yangma Island.
Good reviews
We went to Yangma Island, but it felt like a fake trip. It was the weekend and there were so many cars. Traffic jams started before we even arrived. The tour guide asked us to get off the bus early (we were given an hour and a half, which seemed so short at first, but we were back in less than an hour. It was so hot! It was so sunny! What happened to the promise of cycling around the island? There was a lot of garbage along the coast, but the water was really clear, and it got clearer the further we went in. Some people were diving. There was no sand on the coast, only stones)
Yangma Island is a nice little attraction, but the management of the island needs to be improved. It is best to drive there by yourself, otherwise it is too hard. The sunset is also good.
The beach is fine and the water is clear. I recommend it. However, the island is not well-equipped and it is difficult to eat when there are many people.
You must go to the island early! I was also deceived by Douyin. I asked a local friend in Yantai to accompany us to drive there. We set off from the city to Muping at 6 o'clock and arrived at the island at 6:40. There were already some cars at this time, but not many. We drove and played on the road around the island. Some coasts were not visited by anyone. I found the stairs and went down to take a look. There was no one. The sea was clear and a little icy. Then we went to the place where Douyin was filmed. The beach was full of people and the sea was muddy. WTF! Some people even took jellyfish home directly? The deeper water was okay. When we left, it was more than 9 o'clock. The island was already jammed with traffic. At this time, the cars going to the island were basically slow.
1. Garbage. Where there are a lot of people, there will be garbage. There are even more unethical people who leave garbage in the bushes! 2. Car conditions. There are cars parked everywhere along the coastal roads, so the whole island is very congested! 3. Air. You will smell a very bad smell when you enter the island, and the same is true inside the island!
This has a lot to do with the governance of Yangma Island...
A friendly reminder to those who are coming soon: don't expect too much, there will still be surprises! (My biggest impression is the traffic jams)
I highly recommend it. When I got to Yangma Island, there were many people catching crabs. But it was all stinky mud. But the water at the beach is great, much better than the Crescent Bay in Changdao. The water is clear and not so commercial. Don't drive your car onto the beach, it's easy to get stuck. There are also forklifts, haha. Where there is demand, there is a market. Please note that there is only one toilet here, and my husband didn't eat lunch there. You can imagine it yourself.
It was really hot, really hot, really hot. I rode for 4 hours and got off the bike at several places to push it. There were many cars on the road and I couldn't push the bike through, so I had to wait. I didn't find any paid toilets. I went to two and they were both free. Mineral water was about 3 yuan a bottle, and drinks were 5 or 6 yuan. There was nothing to eat at. Renting a single bike cost 6 yuan an hour, and a double bike cost 12 yuan an hour, so I ended up spending 46. But the scenery is really beautiful. There are reefs by the sea, and the water is very clear. I felt that the ride was worth it. The other attractions are all man-made sculptures. Hot, hot, hot
The scenery is really great
There are many places where you can get close to the sea water.
You can dig up small crabs and there are starfish and jellyfish in the water.
In the evening, enjoy the cool sea breeze with beer and seafood
The Big Dipper can be seen at night.
The only drawback is that the island's infrastructure is not perfect.
The island is not planned as a whole
There are few parking spaces along the Ring Island Road.
The timing of our visit was not good either, as it was during the fishing moratorium.
I hope I can go fishing next time (*/∇\*)
Regarding accommodation, we chose a small detached villa
Be sure to book in advance during peak season
Nice place to take photos, not much developed, few people, good
After wandering around outside, I found the roads on both sides were straight and beautiful. I felt a little regretful that I didn't go in to experience it.
The water quality is really good👍But this is not the innermost beach. This place is suitable for taking pictures. The beach is full of garbage and rotten shells. Maybe it's because no one is running it. The water in the beach is also very good. But there is a fee to enter. The toilet is also charged. It's worth going for the water quality of the sea. Forget about the delicious food.
Before entering the island, there is a recreational area in the villa area, which is a good place for taking photos. I didn’t go to the infinity pool because I was afraid of the sun (if you want to go, you can go and have a look, it is just opposite the recreational area)
Friendly reminder: It is not recommended to ride a bike around the island, because there are many ups and downs on the island, and it will get sunburned. It will look good to wear bright clothes to take pictures. Don't go at noon!!! Otherwise, you will miss that handful of cumin and spicy noodles!
It was dusk when we set foot on Yangma Island.
The sea is plain in color, and the sky is also light and clear, cool and refreshing, with the sea and the sky connected.
At this time, Yangma Island looks like an ink painting, with reefs as ink and the sky and earth left as blank space. It does not need warm rendering of colors, but it is enough to express the vastness of the world.
It is a pure drop of water, falling into the Yellow Sea and breaking into petals with clear and melodious sound.
You don't want to attract attention, right? There is passion hidden in the wind, so why should you deliberately show it.
Later, when I mentioned Yantai to others, I would always say:
There is a very beautiful island there. We have seen the most beautiful sunset there.
The water is super clear, you can see the bottom, it's a surprise, hahaha, so it's especially blue when the sky is clear
Houhai is very beautiful, with many scenic spots and you can go to the sea, but there are more reefs instead of sand.
There is a beach in Qianhai, which is quite nice. There is a temple opposite the beach, which is small and clean.
There are many fishing houses when you first enter the island, where you can eat and stay.
By the way, you can see the horse farm as soon as you enter the island. You can experience horse riding and watch equestrian performances.
There is also a psychological playground at the horse farm. It is quite interesting that there is such a place in a tourist attraction. I asked about it and was told that it is a psychological game specially designed for tourists. One game lasts two hours. I went to play it for a while, which enriched the content of the trip.
Anyway, the scenery is pretty good, there is no entrance fee, you can arrange the time and place by yourself, or you can stay a few more days to experience island life
The sunrise and sunset are also beautiful
After arriving on the island, we didn't use the navigation system and kept going left. As a result, we reached a dead end and the environment was not good. We thought it was boring, but after turning on the navigation system, we were hooked! Along the ring road, we drove for a while and stopped for a while, got off the car to see the scenery, took pictures, and there was a wooden boardwalk that led down to the beach, where we picked up shells and crabs everywhere! There were flowers and trees on both sides of the road, which was very suitable for posing~
I went to Yangma Island on May Day. The scenery is beautiful. The fishing lady is very welcoming. Mantis shrimp and braised fish😍The only drawback is that I went to Youai Fisherman's House. They are all very good. You can eat seafood and enjoy the scenery. The only drawback is that you can't take a bath after you finish. You have to wait a few days before you can take a bath😔
Yangma Island is not very big, and it only takes half an hour to drive around it. There are many attractions on the island, as well as hotels and places to eat. Since I only drove around there by myself, I don’t know much about the hotels and restaurants.
The scenery of Yangma Island is quite nice, but I don’t quite like China’s planning of tourist attractions. It is a very natural island, and I think it would be better if it remained a little more primitive.
The water at Oriental Hawaii is very clear and the scenery is great!
Yangma Island is actually not an isolated island in the sea, but a peninsula connected to the mainland. We decided to go there on a whim and drove around the island. The scenery can only be described as average, but we ate a local specialty dish called swan eggs at the farm house on the island. They are not eggs from swans, but a kind of shellfish, which is very delicious.
We drove around Yangma Island. There were a lot of cars, the scenery was great, but there weren't many places to eat.
I went there four times when I was in Yantai. I rode a bike, chartered a car, ran, and just went there for a meal. The people on the island are very nice and the scenery is pretty good. You can pick apples when they are ripe. And in July and August, you can eat my favorite figs everywhere. Hehe
Yantai Yangma Island is very good. I personally recommend going there for fun. We went to the beach. The sea water was not very cold and the scenery was OK. It is not recommended to stay in a fisherman's house. It is recommended to take a day trip. It is generally better to go at low tide. You can catch a lot of crabs and small fish, and there are many big crabs, but you must bring your own net and bucket! ! ! It is very expensive to buy them there, costing 20 yuan. When fishing, it is recommended to go near the pier, or places with fewer people. Crabs are generally hidden under the floating bridge. Just wait by the floating bridge leading to the entrance of the yacht. If the tide is low, there will be a lot of crabs swimming in, and it is easy to catch them, but don't catch them again if you don't catch them once, because the crabs have crawled into the sand in the water. You can also dig small sand crabs in the sand on the beach, but it is not easy to clean the sand, and the fish are not easy to catch. They swim very fast. Also, you must wear shorts, otherwise your pants will get wet when you go into the water. Men can wear swimming trunks. You also need to wear slippers. If you go into the water, you have to go barefoot. Swimming is not recommended. There is nothing fun. It is better to catch crabs in shallow water. In addition, there are many shells on the beach, all of which are complete and beautiful. You can pick some up and take them back.
!!! Important point: Fish cannot be placed together with crabs, or they will be crushed to death by the crabs, and it smells fishy!
Crabs must be kept in seawater. They cannot adapt to fresh water and will die within a few hours. It is recommended that you eat them immediately after returning home, otherwise they will become smelly. Remember, dead crabs must not be eaten!
(Note: The picture below is not of Yangma Island, but of Weihai Beach. I didn’t take a picture of Yangma Island😔.)
Yangma Island is actually quite large, and you need to drive to the island, but you can see a lot of seaside scenery when you circle the island.
The north side of the island is a rocky beach with many oysters.
The beach is on the other side (not a bathing beach), where you can go to the beach
The best view on the island should be the lobby of the golf club at sunset. If you want to go, you can try
I called a taxi from Yantai because the car was going back to Yangma Island, so the fare was cheap, 50 yuan. I rented a bicycle when I arrived at Yangma Island and walked along the way. I was so tired that I pushed it down the hill. You must go to the back mountain, the scenery is beautiful, but it is not convenient to ride a bicycle, and you can't go into the water with a bicycle. I suggest that if you want to have fun in the water, don't ride a bicycle in.
I originally planned to spend only one day here. I arrived in the morning and drove around the island for about 20 minutes. The back of the island is full of rocks and so on, so it's not good to take children there. The beach is especially suitable for children to play. The beach is big and the water is clear. Seeing the children playing so happily, I stayed for another day. I stayed in Qianheshun, which is close to the sea. It took less than ten minutes to get there. I parked the car in the small square at the door, saving parking fees. The boss was very enthusiastic. In the morning, I personally took me to the seafood market to buy seafood. It was fresh and cheap. At noon, the boss's wife personally processed it. It was delicious! I will stay here next time I come here!
I went there in June and July last year, it was really great. I drove there by myself, and immediately found a fisherman's house to stay in after I arrived. The owner was super nice, the environment was good, and the price was quite cheap. Then you have to find a place to rent a bicycle. There seems to be a supermarket at the door. The rental fee seems to be 6 yuan per hour. It's so tiring to go around the island for four hours. But compared with the air and sea breeze, it's still refreshing. After returning to the accommodation, I washed up and ate seafood in the fisherman's house. It's relatively cheap. It's more than 100 yuan for three people, which is acceptable. The next day, it took only three or two minutes to walk to the beach. The sea water was quite clean. The bonfire party on the beach was super awesome. The sea breeze, beach barbecue, beer and dance to the music were so exciting, but the disadvantage is that the cultural depth is not deep enough.
There are few tourists, the scenic spots are very clean, and the sea breeze makes you feel good.
It takes less than an hour to drive from Yantai, and there are a lot of people and cars on May Day.
The scenery is still very beautiful, the beach is perfect for taking photos
It's pretty good, not too many people, and the seafood is not expensive
I went there four or five years ago, when it hadn't been developed into a tourist attraction. My classmates drove over to watch the sunrise in the early morning. Well, the scenery was great. I also met a very artistic woman at the Twin Pavilion. Well, I only took a picture of her back.
Yangma Island is a pure natural island. It is not overdeveloped, so there are not many tourists. If you want to experience the life of the locals, you can come here. All the facilities are basically new. It is definitely the best base for photographers! Of course, the complication of not being overdeveloped is that the facilities on the island are not complete. There are basically no restaurants. You must eat before coming. It takes half a day to drive around the island.
A good place for leisure and fisherman's feast, good air, blue sea, natural scenery, no entrance fee
Yangma Island was an unexpected gain for our self-driving tour. We passed by this island on our way from Yantai to Weihai, and we had plenty of time, so we visited it without hesitation.
This island is definitely a great place for self-driving tours, because it is located in Muping, Yantai, far away from the urban area of Yantai, and public transportation is not convenient. The most comfortable way is to drive yourself. Driving a small car, blowing the sea breeze, you can reach the island via the cross-sea bridge. A ring road connects all the landscapes in series. Driving on the coastal road really has the style of an island country; there are wooden plank roads on the island that go deep into the islands and reefs in the sea, with a very wide view. There are also several small parks that are perfect places for taking wedding photos, with blue sea and blue sky; while it is not closed for charging, I will take the time to go a few more times~
The environment on the island is good, you can take your children to explore and explore.
They are basically newly built attractions, and there seems to be an amusement park or something.
I stayed at Elan Muping Hotel on October 2. The facilities and services were very good, the price was reasonable, and the breakfast was very good. The scenery on the island was pleasant, the sea water was clean and clear, and it was a good place for retirement.
From Weihai to Yantai, we stopped by Yangma Island. There were some small surprises along the way. We found a lot of small hermit crabs on the beach. The little friends had a lot of fun playing with them. Later, we changed to another place and found a large group of jellyfish (but they were dead), but we have never seen this type of jellyfish before. Yangma Island is suitable for self-driving tours around the island!
Yangma Island is about 16 kilometers away from the urban area of Yantai. Going east along Binhai Avenue, you will cross the cross-sea bridge (the Yangma Island cross-sea bridge is actually less than 2 kilometers long). It is indeed very convenient to reach the island. Yangma Island should be a tourist attraction that has really emerged in recent years. Its convenient transportation and relative isolation from the land are its advantages, but its extensive development and lack of unified planning still make it look relatively backward. There are bathing beaches on the island where you can go to the sea. There are coastal mountains on the east and north sides of the island, where you can experience the sunset on the island from a high altitude. There are now many small farmhouse hotels on the island, and there are also many high-end hotels that look luxurious. However, given the convenience of Yantai, it seems that not many people are willing to live on the island.
The people of Yangma Island are simple, kind and honest. The front sea is a beach, the back sea is rocky, the sea is deep blue, and crabs, small fish, shrimps and jellyfish can be seen everywhere. The old couple in the fishing house where I stayed were very honest. I could also go out to sea with them and eat the fish and shrimps I caught. Accommodation and meals are very cheap and the prices are reasonable.
The sea in front of Yangma Island is wide and calm, while behind the island there are rugged reefs and crashing waves. It is a great place for leisure and tourism.
Free scenic spot.
Yangma Island is located in the Yellow Sea, with a total area of about 10 square kilometers. It is 30 kilometers away from Yantai City and is connected to Muping District by a cross-sea bridge.
The vast sea is much better than the beach in the city. The sea is very clear and blue. Walking along the coastline, you feel like you are in an idol drama. Go straight to the beach behind the island and get off the road. The color of the sea will attract you. It's free. I won't say much, just pictures.
There is no entrance fee to Yangma Island. A family of three (children are four years old) can take a taxi directly to the scenic spot Zhengzhan, where there are bicycles for rent (the kind that a family of three can ride together, with locks. You can stop and lock at any time, and have fun easily). The fee is 40 yuan, with no time limit! The circumference of the island is 16.5 kilometers. It is recommended to ride counterclockwise along the outer ring. All attractions can be easily reached. When riding against the wind, the children are fresh and happy!
I took the opportunity of taking an exam to visit Yangma Island. The feeling is beyond words. The blue and white colors make people feel free of distractions, relaxing, comfortable, fresh air, and bright sunshine. It meets all the requirements of "vacation" in the definition. When visiting Yantai, catching seafood is a must on the itinerary. Riding a bicycle around the island in the gentle sea breeze is also very artistic!
Nice scenery, ate Spanish mackerel dumplings, tasted great
The air is fresh, the sea and sky are blue, the people are simple and hospitable!
Fresh seafood, music highway, super enjoyment!
Horse riding, swimming, renting a bicycle to travel around the island are all great, and you can also watch the sunrise over the sea!
There is no entrance fee to the Yangma Island Scenic Area, and the scenery is beautiful! But the beach is reserved and you are not allowed to go to the beach... This is the most uncomfortable place!
The scenery is great. If you want to kill time, this is a good choice.
There is a tourist bus from the North Square of the Railway Station to Yangma Island for 5 yuan, but it is only available during the tourist season and holidays. This year it stopped on October 8th.
If you have enough time, you can consider staying in Muping, visiting the Wenxing Road Night Market at night, experiencing the characteristics of Yantai, and going to the island early the next day.
The water is very clear, but it is also a reality that there is garbage. After all, this is where people live, and most of the island is private waters reserved by others for aquaculture.
It is best to cycle around the island or drive yourself. Although the island is not big, it will be very tiring to walk half of it.
